First 100?
Do you remember which pokemon you got fully LEGITIMATE to lv 100?
Mine was kadabra.I always thought that by leveling him up he would evolve to an alakazam even though my friends told me that i should trade him.Welll it was my first pokemon game so i didnt bealeve that trading could trigger evolution. |
My first level 100 was my Flygon. I got stuck in a line up a mountain to put on snowchains for six hours :/ That's when I whipped out my Gameboy Advance and trained to level 100 in my Sapphire at Sky Pillar.
I've never gotten a Pokemon up to level 100 besides one of the legendaries, I don't remember which. But that doesn't really count since it started at like level 70. But I might actually do it this time in the 5th gen, since they give you a Lucky Egg lol.
My first level 100 was Swampert in Sapphire before I deleted the game file.
My first was Charizard on Fire Red, closely followed by a Blastoise I was traded on the same game. While it wasn't really one of my favorite Pokemon anymore, I never had the patience to train the Charizard I used in Yellow all the way up to Level 100, so I thought I would do that first in Fire Red before any other Pokemon.

I have no idea which one it is exactly, seeing as it must've been about 10 years ago that I got my first one to 100. One thing I'm sure of though, it's definitely one of the starters in Blue, since back then, they were my top priority on the team. Since they'd been with me the longest, they were usually the highest levelled, so they also usually made the first in my team in important battles, and thus came a long way ahead. I'm pretty sure I really preferred the Charmander line back then, so my first to level 100 would most likely have been Charizard.
I've never gotten a Pokemon to level 100. I rarely get them much past level 50, and even that's the exception rather than the rule. There's just always something else that I want to breed or catch or train or evolve or what-have-you, and that's my priority. If they're particularly good or I just like them, I put in the effort to breed or catch exactly what I want, then level and train them for as long as it takes to get what I want. Generally though, once they're fully evolved and fully EV trained, I only use them if I really need them on a team - otherwise I'm focusing on the new stuff that I want to breed and catch and evolve and train.
I have boxes and boxes full of level 30-something fully evolved and EV trained Pokemon with carefully designed movesets. |
My empoleon, I didn't know about soear pillar, trained to lv 100, then found out!
My Typhlosion. I was young, and pretty new to Pokemon, so I only trained my starter, but I unfortunaly also didn't battle every trainer along the way, so I found my self very underleveled at Mt. Silver (Though I didn't know it at the time). So I grinded, and grinded, and grinded some more.
My Eevee.
Little Corinth; if only it was possible to trade her to Gen III... Oh well, she's sitting happily as a demi-god in Crystal~ |
My first 100 is maybe the best moment in my video game history.
My friend and I each had a copy of Fire Red and Leaf Green, we had started over together and been training for an ultimate showdown. We were in high school at the time and with winter break on its way we decided we would battle at the end of winter break. Winter break reaches its end and the battle begins. The levels of our pokes are scattered between 70-80 and its a close fight. Enter Jolteon, level 100. Game over. The look on his face was priceless, I wish I could have a moment as amazing as that again with pokemon. |
Mine was Feraligatr , I got him as the starter from HG and when he reached 77 , I sent him to black and trained him to lv 100.
My Swampert in Pokemon Ruby.
She was my first ever Level 100 on any game. |
It's quite possibly Venusaur in Blue, but it's been what, 12 years? I can't remember.
My first 100 is my Snorlax back in the good old days in Pokemon Red. I think I got it to level 100 around 8~10 years ago.
Venosaur in Pokémon Blue, he's still there everytime i play it.
I never got a level 100 poke until I played Pokemon Sapphire, the first ones to reach lvl 100 were my Minun and Absol (same fight) followed by Flygon and Swampert.
My first was Feraligatr in Silver shortly followed by Ariados. The next time I got a Pokemon to Level 100 was in Diamond which was Empoleon then Roserade.
My first legitimate one was Houndoom in Silver. My first time exiting Saffron I came across it in the grass by accident, and to my 10 year old self (even now) it was the coolest thing ever! Trained it exclusively from that point on, and I can fondly remember vs Blue's Alakazam, I was totally immune ans PP Stalled it to death to get all the EXP haha!
I also later on bred a Squirtle traded over from my Blue Version Blastoise, and raised him to 100 as well, just to prove I could do it. I remember waiting for Red's final pokemon (Charizard) to get that last little bit to level up. When I said legitimate, I meant due to the Rare Candy cheat in Gen I. After catching Mewtwo, on of my cousins mentioned this glitch, and since the game (apart from Pokedex) was complete, I decided to give it a go, not really knowing HOW to do it. I tell you it's one weird thing to suddenly have unlimited Tm 12: Water Gun! |
I believe legitimately was my Typhlosion in Gold. I think it was, can't really remember that far back though. I might of gotten a Pokemon to 100 in Red but again I can't remember. I do remember getting a Typhlosion to level 100 in Gold once. I use to mainly focus on training my starter so it would be the only I used to beat the game. I also got a Lugia to 100 but it wasn't exactly legitimately cause my friend discover the clone glitch and he would always trade me Lugia clones some at level 100 already. XD
Lvl 100 Charzard in original red back when I was like 10 years old so I guess that would be 12 years ago. I only used charzard for the most part cause charzard is a beast and the thought of using a team of multiple pokemon didn't appeal to me much. I was just a boy in love with his charzard (looked cooler than most pokemon at the time and fire type is so awsome). I think my charzard was lvl 70 something (kind of ridiculous but I mostly only used him) going into elite four and by the end of it he was level 77. From there I simply got him to 100 by doing the elite four a dozen more times.
My first ever level 100 was a Charizard in my Blue version. He was followed closely by Vaporeon, my second lv 100. Those were the only to Pokemon I rolled with throughout the story.
My Blastoise from Red, which I traded over to Yellow so I could annihilate everything get past Brock. I remember being so mad because it wouldn't obey me >_>
My Pikachu in that same game eventually hit level 100, and I think my Pidgeot did as well, or at the very least it came close. Haven't had any other Pokemon get that far since, although I have a few that are closing in. |
My Empoleon named Frosty from my first save file ever on Pearl version. He still lives in my Platinum version to this day, probably between 6-7 years old.
Nope. I've never raised a Pokemon to level 100 in all of my Pokemon life. The closest would have to be my Feraligatr though, which was level 90. (GSC)
my first 100 was Blaziken in Emerald, then Dragonite from Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness that i sent to Emerald, then i sent them up to Platinum and it was Garchomp.
I've never done it either haha, I think the closest I ever had was Feraligatr on Silver and I think I got it to 88.
My first 100 was my first Pokemon ever, Venasaur. I've transferred him all the way over to White 2, when he originally came from Leafgreen.
zangoose, on hg, a traded one actually.
never meant to train it to that lvl but i remember i was having so much fun obliterating the e4 with swords dance and crush claw that when i noticed it was already lv.100 lol (didn't take that long seeing as it was traded but still). |
Mine was a Lapras. The one you get from the dude in the Silph co. building.
Not had many legit ones since then. Dialga is the only other Pokemon I remember getting to level 100 |
My first legit level 100 Pokémon was Blastoise in FireRed, Raichu soon after. These were the two Pokémon whose levels greatly surpassed the rest of my team. I was 9 years old back then and played the games alot differently than I do now. My starter Pokémon would always be 20+ levels higher than everyone else. Nowadays, I make sure my team's levels are balanced and all near each other.
My only Level 100. was my Typhlosion from HG that I'd trained there, traded to Diamond, transferred to Black before trading to Black 2, where I trained it from Level 76 to Lvl. 100! Mostly thanks to Black Tower.
Seadra. I thought it evolves into Kingdra at lv. 100. I don't think I even had internet connection back then, so I likely wasn't able to look up whether it does or not.
EDIT: I don't know if it's worth noting, but it hit 100 in Desert Underpass after beating a Ditto. Also I had a Butterfree at level 89 and Swampert at level 93 I think. |
My Typhlosion in HeartGold was the first Pokemon I got to level 100. I remember also having a Gengar and Slowking around level 90, which are the only other Pokemon that I've trained over level 90.
I don't have the patience to train my Pokemon more than they need to be. |
Venasaur on fire red, was my first ever pokemon game and I didn't train any other pokemon it was 89 when I beat the pokemon league for the first time.
My old trusty Blaziken; my starter in Sapphire. It wasn't my first game but I didn't really understand Crystal and wasn't fully invested into mons back then.
it was either a Typhlosion on Silver/Crystal or a Suicune on Crystal. Similar time my sister got a lvl 100 Feraligatr on Silver. I got Mewtwo to 100 on yellow, but that was later
Typhlosion in Crystal I think was my first.
the 1st pokemon i got to 100 was my charizard and alakazam
my first pokemon, twiggy the torterra. i've decided that i'll never trade him and transfer him to the newest games. although it was kinda sad when i transfered him to black and tried to use return only to find out that he didn't like his new trainer :( he got over it though and return is working great again
Can't remember if it was my Groudon in Ruby or my Charizard in LG that i got to level 100 first. Pretty sure it was Charizard :/
My Dragonite in Silver Version was my first level 100, though I was still a bit of a noob so she unknowingly became a HM slave ^^; |
As others have said, back in the day I really only focused on my starter so my first level 100 was my Charizard from Blue which was the first Pokemon I ever chose. Then for the battle against Red in Gold I trained both my Typhlosion and my Ampharos to 100 to help cover his team. Closest I've got since then is my lv85 Blaziken in Sapphire.
I know. I have a thing for Fire starters. >.< |
The first level 100 Pokémon that I manually trained was a Charizard I had in my Red version. It took forever to train, too. @[email protected]
My first level 100 Pokemon was Scrafty, and even with it, I still couldn't beat BW's Elite Four let alone the champion.
my first pokemon that I legitmetly got to lvl 100 was the Pikachu in Pokemon yellow.
Yup, Charizard in Fire Red, I believe.
My first was Blaziken back in Ruby. The good times I had smashing through the Elite Four was Blaziken.
My first lv 100 was Zekrom in Pokémon White.
Empoleon as well on Diamond. It was my first game (then I played older ones after getting hooked) and I was especially attached to my first starter. -shrugs- oh well XD Good times, good times.
My first level 100 was a Slowpoke in Gold. It was a solo-run in which I wanted to show my friend Slowpoke can be amazing. Beat Red with my little Slowpoke.
Yes I do remember what it was My first lv.100 was my Mightyena in Sapphire. Only because I kept using it that other party members.
My venusaur in leafgreen. Ah, good old memories.
My Feraligatr on my first Silver before I lost it. haven't gotten a Pokemon to level 100 since.
Mine was Meganium on Silver Version. It grew to LV.100 while I was fighting the Elite Four.
My first Pokémon I trained to Level 100 was my Sceptile I bred and EV trained in Pokémon Diamond. Since it was my first time EV training and I had just entered the competitive scene, it didn't turn out exactly perfect by the time it reached LV. 100, and I never really got to use it very much either. Actually, I don't think I even have that Sceptile anymore since I restarted that file sometime later on. ):
A Charizard from my LeafGreen, but I got him to level 100 on my Black 2 a couple weeks ago actually haha.
I'm not fully sure, though it could be my Typhlosion from G/S/C as I'm sure I never got anything in the R/B/Y days to lv. 100. >:
I've never actually trained a pokemon up to level 100 - never saw the point as I don't do postgame. However, my parasect on my solo run of firered reached level 92 or so!
99% sure it was a Venusaur in Blue, but there's so much doubt there because it was so long ago. The safe bet is Swampert in Sapphire because I clearly remember that.
Typhlosion in Crystal, back in '05 or so. It knew, as I recall, Flamethrower, Flame Wheel, Thunderpunch, and Cut (yeah, I know).
I'm pretty sure I got Mewtwo to Lv100 in Blue. I have no idea whether it was the first one or not, but it's the only one I can remember this many years later, so that's my answer, dammit! :P
oh man... it was probably my charizard... but possibly my mewtwo... thats like 14 years ago man...
ahh the memories ;) |
What does "legitimate" mean in this case? Does it mean 'refraining from glitches, Rare Candies, etc.', as in leveling up purely through training/battling?

I usually use Rare Candies (if I happen to have them) right after a Level-Up, unless I'm saving them for a later purpose. My legendaries typically get trained to Level 100, especially due to being at high levels already (which really helps when I'm engaged in a battle with one of those annoying Trainers that I forgot I snuck past pre-Elite 4+Champion Defeat). I haven't trained a Pokemon from Level 1 to Level 100 yet, lowest beginning level so far has been at least Level 5 (due to Generation 3 Eggs starting at Level 5); might have even been Level 2 or 3, possibly being one of those Hoenn Route 101 Pokemon... Oh, and in b4 someone mentions "catching one of those Level 100 Magikarp in Platinum Version". :P |
Mine was Blastoise on LG. I have been trading her to every game. When Emerald came out, I traded her to it. Diamond, traded her to it! Platinum, she was there, too. HG, again, traded. And she has stayed in Black (I never got BW2). I loved her very much, and still do today. I've used her so much, that if I could see the total EXP she has, it would be over 1,000,000,000, with more than 10,000 battles won, in LG alone. Total battles won would probably be around 500,000. She has Hydro Cannon, Flash Cannon, Focus Blast, and Earthquake.
MY Torterra on my Pokemon Diamond. It took me 3 months but it was a lot of fun.
I rarely train all the way to level 100, but I'm pretty sure it was my Blaziken in my second Ruby file. ^-^
I hate training to level 100. It's a pain in the butt. I have a bunch of Pokemon that are 70-90 between all my games, but I have only...5 or 6 level 100 Pokemon in total, I wanna say. And that's collectively, not all on one game.
Anyway, my first level 100 was CHICTOR the Blaziken in Ruby. I still have her and will be using her in my next Hall of Fame team in my challenge on Emerald. She's also the oldest Pokemon I have, from a Ruby file made in 2004. She has Toxic, Sky Uppercut, Slash, and Fire Blast. Not bad for 11 year old me, but I prefer Flamethrower. I would change it, but eh, it'd feel wrong to do that since it's had that for so long. I think I only did it for Beauty Contests anyway, now that I think back. And yes, her name is CHICTOR. All caps galore. v_v |
I have had quite a few that I have trained to level 100, but my first one was my Blastiose on Blue. It was the only Pokemon that I used on that game other than HM users(I was a noob).
When I was a kid, me and a friend trained level 100 teams to battle each other. My first team was on Pokémon Blue, I can't remember exactly which Pokémon I had, but I'm sure I had a Kabutops, a Ninetales, a Mewtwo, an Articuno... I don't remember the rest. I did it again in Yellow, and I'm sure my team had the four starters, but I don't remember the remaining two. We also did this for Gen 2 games. Yup, I spent a lot of time on training all level 100 teams :) .
In more recent news, I've been replaying Gen 3 for the last few weeks. I've been using Pokémon XD to level up some Pokémon I needed for single player by giving them an Exp Share and battling with Lugia and Dragonite on Mt. Battle. Soon enough, both Lugia and Dragonite grew to the level 100 :) . They're in my Emerald cart now. |
Pikachu. I didn't evolve it.
Lets just say I thought Ash's team on the anime was unbeatable <_< |
