Preferred Series between FR/LG and R/S/E
I prefer the Fire Red/Leaf Green series. My first pokemon game being Leaf Green, i think it's about nostalgia. Even though i finished the game many times, i still play it today.
I love RSE. I cannot stand FRLG. Though both games are nostalgic for me, FRLG eventually paled in comparison to HGSS as far as remakes go. It was great for it's time, for me anyway. It's still nice to play every once in a while. But RSE I never get bored of.
Seeing as I have SS, I see no reason for FR/LG.
Beyond that, I adore Emerald in every sense of the word. Simply fantastic game! :D |
RSE. Kanto in general never appealed to me very much gameplay wise after Silph Co, and thus I have never beat the Elite Four. That extends to FR/LG, so by default RSE was more enjoyable to me.
I prefer Fire red and lead green. Why? Because my FIRST POKEMON EVER was a Charmander. Yeah I think it's about nostalgia.
I prefer emerald.. gameplay is fun and trainers are nice elite 4 is hard as well, overall enjoyed it more
I prefer emerald 2.. Just u know y..
I think both games have some upsides, but I think overall, R/S/E was much more enjoyable than FR/LG. The reason I think it was more enjoyable is mainly because R/S/E was a fresh start and FR/LG were remake games.

I like FR/LG better than R/S/E. It just might be the whole nostalgia factoring for me, since my emulating experience for both games sucks, since I'm playing on my ZuneHD.
RSE,seriously those games are awesome,
even though I first played Red. It would be awesome if they made a remake, and seriously,if they don't,I would go kill gamefreak. |
I personally have FR/LG ahead of R/S on my list, but Emerald really topped all of them, so my entire vote goes to R/S/E. The Battle Frontier was one of the best innovations to the series, and it really gave the game continual playing value after the main story was completed.
It's FireRed/LeafGreen for me. Despite being a remake, I never got into RSE quite as much as I thought I should have. RSE and DPPt are, in my opinion, on the lower level of the Pokemon spectrum. Not 100% sure why, but that's just the feeling they give me.
I'm gonna have to go with FireRed and LeafGreen. I love R/S/E, but if you ask me, FR/LG are much more polished. Plus, I kinda prefer Kanto to Hoenn. :P
I'll be voting for Fire Red/Leaf Green.
It's a difficult choice i must say, both the series i liked them a lot. I loved the first generation, and seeing a well done remake made me so happy, and R/S/E were made very well indeed. But still, i love how simple and clean was the first generation, as so it has been the remakes. |
I love Hoenn. FRLG doesn't hold a candle to RSE in my opinion, they were just that great.
Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald for me.
Mainly cos Hoenn was my first region as far as the games go. Also, I loved the unusual Pokemon designs. |
R/S/E! In my opinion, FR/LG really aren't that great.
LG/FR in my opinion as it brought me back to my favourite tune: Route 1
RSE without a dobut. Having already played through Kanto it wasn't much different when playing FRLG, I much prefer Hoenn to Kanto anyway.
i liked hoenn more than i did kanto (in the games) and plus my favorite pokemon, blaziken, is from hoenn
As much as I do like the remakes of Green and Red, I just like the main series better. Hoenn is my favorite region and Ruby came out during an awesome time in my life, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. I love the Pokemon that were introduced as well too and the many new features we got in R/S/E.
Gotta go with RSE. FR/LG were great remakes, but I didn't like the post-game content that much.

As far as the games go FR/LG > R/S
Emerald was my middle ground. I measure my experience with the games by the narratives and judge the overall narratives by the characterization and effectiveness of the antagonists. In my opinion, Giovanni is legitimately more threatening than Chuck or Maxie. Honestly, in R/S/E, what was Teams Aqua and Magma's motivation for doing what they did? What did they have to gain by either flooding the world or making it a barren wasteland? Additionally, when they do put their plans into action, they seem surprised that what they did could mean the extinction of humans and Pokemon alike. Their plans have no rhyme or reason. It's glaringly obvious that Chuck and Maxie are idiots who clearly did not know what they were doing. Comparatively, Giovanni is a Mob Boss. Team Rocket were collecting rare and valuable items to trade in the black market (Cubone skulls). It's implied that Giovanni controls Kanto and its people by controlling its socioeconomic condition (casino, corporation takeovers). Giovanni was cool and calculating; he knew what he was doing. His purpose was to carry on the family business and to continue the tradition of power and corruption left to him by his mother. He is legitimately more threatening because his crimes mirror what happens in the real criminal underworld. I will admit, however, that Gen 3 in Hoenn has better graphical design and added another dimension in game mechanics (natures, abilities) but the overall plot and context of the events transpiring in Kanto wins it for me in the end. |
Well, I did like Squirtle on Gen I... FR/LG wasn't just as appealing to me. Even if there is B2W2 now, Emerald is still my favorite game. Having two opposing Teams, epic war/love battle between Kyogre and Groudon, Regi's, Lati's, and my most favorite Pokemon Metagross! R, S, and E are just awesome.
