3DS DLC for Pokemon?

For those of you with a 3DS you will be aware of the Downloadable Content feature allowing you to add extra content to the game such as aesthetic changes.

Do you think there will be DLC for these two games, If so how do you think it will effect them?

shengar January 8th, 2013 5:43 AM

I'll hope is just pure aesthetic, not like "buy DLC to unlock Pokemon or Key Item X"
That'll be a load of bull. I don't have problem with cosmetic DLC. Just, stay away from gameplay changing DLC.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire January 8th, 2013 5:46 AM

I imagine there'll be one at least. Maybe items for customation purposes.

Kanto_Johto January 8th, 2013 5:47 AM

There will probably be DLC in the games, but mostly just perk items. Like the poster above me said, having to download essential items in order to complete the game would be utterly ridiculous.

Keiran January 8th, 2013 5:53 AM

I think if they have DLC it could be a lot like the Dream World additions. New furniture, houses, dolls etc, or even new habitats to find Pokemon in. But that's just me hoping for secret bases to return, lmao.

Captain Fabio January 8th, 2013 5:57 AM

DLC will be event Pokemon and some new items. I haven't really seen them do much DLC, but with the 3DS, they could give it a go, so you never know.

Zet January 8th, 2013 6:25 AM

I think the DLC would be outfits to customize the trainer, and previous pokemon events if you missed out on them.

uhhh6677 January 8th, 2013 6:57 AM

Oh god no, please no DLC. I hope, really hope, they don't do DLC. But given video games pattern nowadays, it is almost inevitable.

RedJ January 8th, 2013 7:09 AM

I could see them doing event Pokemon/items as DLC. It wouldn't be the first 3DS game to do it (Fire Emblem Awakening comes to mind). So long as it's free, I'd be okay with it.

HaloSonic January 8th, 2013 7:23 AM

hopefully if they do add dlc, it would be a. free and b. something that lets me customize the trainer's appearance. B2W2 was sorely missing trainer customization, especially after the addition of PokeStar Studios and its costumes.

ZetaZaku January 8th, 2013 7:24 AM

It would be cool if they released the WiFi event Pokemon as DLC afterwards, so in case you miss an event, you can later download a DLC (for free or a small price). It really sucks when you buy the game too late and miss an event Pokemon you really wanted to have.

Logan January 8th, 2013 8:01 AM

If aesthetic changes are on the agenda then I reckon you might be able to get DLC of new outfits for the players (maybe even seasons based) which would be great in my opinion.

Pinkie-Dawn January 8th, 2013 9:13 AM

Given that the 3DS has yet to be hacked, it would be safe for GF to add on-cartridge DLC without anyone knowing that Pokemon XY has more DLC content than ever other than event Pokemon or items.

Gary0ak January 8th, 2013 9:26 AM

Downloadable Content (DLC)

I think maybe via the Nintendo E-Shop.

roosterman January 8th, 2013 9:28 AM

you can buy pokemon maybe? like for a dollar you could get a second starter? i don't know but its gonna be awesome!

MudkipBoy January 8th, 2013 12:41 PM

I would cry if I had to pay extra for different pokemon

LiquoriceBeef January 8th, 2013 12:56 PM

I'd like some event Pokemon. I also have an idea: free DLC that lets you choose one previous region to travel to, with all routes, gyms, etc. accessible, but you can only choose ONE.
I'd choose Hoenn :D

BlueShellBeast January 8th, 2013 1:08 PM

I would actually like to be able to buy extra Pokemon boxes...

Lord Varion January 8th, 2013 1:33 PM

What I'd like to see:
Pokémon Box Wall papers
Costumes and outfits
Poké Seals; needs a comeback and needs some legit ones from nintendo and gamefreak
Exclusive event pokemon
Exclusive trainer Battles; like past trainers
What I don't want to see:

Anything that will affect the gameplay majorly like blocking roads, locking gyms, missing out pokemon.

Nintendofox3d January 8th, 2013 2:35 PM

i swear if they add DLC i will be so mad...because i would have spended all my money on it...

vaporeon7 January 8th, 2013 3:21 PM

I think if there is any DLC, it will be just customisable thing such as clothing or it will be extra trainers to battle like the E-reader trainers in gen III. Either way, I'll probably end up buying them.

Kura January 8th, 2013 3:26 PM

I think they'll have DLC but it'll probably be just event stuff, new skins, extra items.. something like that! It'd be nice if there were more that weren't region-specific!

diamondmutt1111 January 8th, 2013 3:38 PM

doesn't matter what the DLC is, I will probably get it. However, gameplay changing things like locking gyms or inability to complete your Dex, that's just plain rude. Don't think Nintendo would though, as Pokémon is a kid's thing, so forcing children to buy MORE to complete a game? AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT (I had to...)

DLC Add-ons would be awesome though, like new stories to prolong the ending of the game. I wonder if you delete the save file...would it delete the DLC you purchased? (or got if it's free)

Jeremy January 8th, 2013 3:46 PM

Well sweeties, I'm pretty sure all the cosmetic DLC would be free, just look at Animal Crossing.

Hopefully the DLC would also be for events

FlameNexus January 8th, 2013 4:13 PM

Honestly, it's a great idea. I often find myself bored once a pokemon game's story and after game stuff is completed. If there were to be DLC, we all could play a new quest or find a new pokemon. So, it could work. Good idea, by the way.
