Will you still play games of the Fourth Generation?

Pretty straightforward. With Generation VI approaching and arriving in October, Generation IV becomes yet another step closer to relative extinction. My question to you is, will you pick these games up every now and then and play them after Gen VI is out? Or, will you ditch them completely?

Deceit January 10th, 2013 10:40 PM

Definitely not. And by that, I mean I will definitely not stop playing these games. :)
4th gen had some of my favorite games, and I will probably play these games a lot, even with the release of new games. These games will always be remembered, for me. I still even return to some GBA games I don't like as much now, so I will probably play some of these 4th Gen games even more, usually when I finish the new generation. And unless they create like 10 new generations within the next few years, I'll still be playing these from time to time.

Another reason to keep on playing is that this generation was the one where I really start to got better, and not really as, well, random, as in earlier games. So basically, I have a lot of memories from this.

Hikamaru January 10th, 2013 10:46 PM

Even though I'm focusing on Black 2 right now, I may still find time to play my old 4th Gen games, particularly SoulSilver and Platinum.

4th Gen had very memorable games, and great features. I'll still have time to play even when balancing the newest generations. Even when 6th Gen comes, I'll always remember 4th Gen as the generation that got me hooked on the games.

Rainbow Arcanine January 11th, 2013 1:10 AM

Even when brand new generations come out and win the hearts of fans worldwide, I think I'll still regularly pick up either my Platinum or Heartgold and raise my team, explore around Sinnoh, play my game to its fullest potential and replay with unique teams to see what works best for me. The 4th Generation was definitely one of my favourites and I look back on it as a great generation that introduced wonderful creatures, features, new places and brilliant games <3. I don't think I'll ever give them up, so in summary I won't ditch my 4th Generation Games completely even when Pokemon X and Y come out.

Treecko January 11th, 2013 2:06 AM

To be honest , I'm still playing 4th gen games. I don't usually reset games so I still have my original save files from HeartGold and Diamond. I happen to only just got Platinum for Christmas and I'm still playing the last player's game so I can transfer her mons to HeartGold, White, Black 2 and White 2. Then I plan to reset and start my own game. So I'm still gonna be completing Gen 4 games while Gen 6 is going on. While I didn't like Gen IV at first, they've grown on me and I now love them. While they're not my favorite, they're still great games and so as long as I have my DS, Ill be playing them for years.

Kikaito plush January 11th, 2013 2:12 AM

I still play my Pearl and Heartgold mainly to just to complete my black 2's national dex before October. To anwser the question I'll probably still play them after X and Y are out.

Seki January 11th, 2013 3:20 AM

Yes, because I haven't finished Platinum yet and I just love Heart Gold a lot.

BLOOOD-La-ti- January 11th, 2013 6:32 AM

Eventually I will,
only to transfer pokemon to B2.

mikelan98 January 11th, 2013 7:16 AM

Of course, the fourth generation is the most advanced generation that hasn't lost the essence of Pokémon. And do not forget the great remakes of GBC games, HeartGold & SoulSilver.

blue January 11th, 2013 7:35 AM

I tend to do this to pass the time waiting for new generations, I've recently started on Platinum and Soul Silver.

Captain Gizmo January 11th, 2013 8:19 AM

Ofc I will. I didn't even complete my Pokedex in Heart Gold yet. And I use Heart Gold for battling, trading and the Pokeathlon!

As for Diamond, I use it for to trade starters with :)

I'm even playing FireRed. So it doesn't matter which Gen is coming out next. I'll still play the Pokemon games no matter what Gen it is.

LightOfTruth January 11th, 2013 11:00 AM

Heartgold and Soulsilver will be still be played, Classic pokemon are better then new ones :)

EJ January 11th, 2013 8:18 PM

I'm probably going to replay HeartGold after I beat White 2. It's my favorite Pokemon game.

I played Platinum just the other day from start to finish. It's all about nostalgia. People still play Gen 1,2 & 3 daily.

SoraTheTruth January 11th, 2013 8:48 PM

of course IMO Gen 4 > Gen 5 especially the gold and silver remakes

pikakitten January 11th, 2013 9:44 PM

Yeah I'm going to be replaying my HeartGold, it's so fun xD

Brendino January 11th, 2013 10:38 PM

As of right now I say no, since I still really love playing HeartGold every once and a while. That being said, I thought the same thing about FireRed and Sapphire when I first got my DS, but aside from doing some Pal Park stuff I've barely touched them. HeartGold, however, does have a lot more to offer than the Gen 3 games in terms of post-game activities, so while I don't think it'll be completely forgotten, it wouldn't surprise me come October.

LazzLD January 12th, 2013 2:44 PM

I reckon I'll still play them :) I actually completed a Red playthrough just recently :D. Just because they're old doesn't mean they still aren't awesome!

Shooting me Softly January 12th, 2013 3:00 PM

Of course! I may come back to Heart Gold every once in a while, but I don't really have any motivation to play D/P/P. They're so....meh.

Ω Ruby and α Sapphire January 12th, 2013 9:12 PM

Of course :) While SS and HG didn't interest me particularly Platinum was great! I'll sure play that again!

halcyonic January 12th, 2013 9:17 PM

Hmm, I guess I will, but I'll most probably play HGSS only, I like HGSS pretty good so yeah, this sums it all up!

Sweets Witch January 12th, 2013 9:19 PM

Yeah, totally. Pearl is still one of my favorite video games in general so it'll be tough to stop playing it no matter what comes out in the future.

Imperator161 January 14th, 2013 1:12 PM

I'll continue to use all of my older games, so long as they work. I still play LeafGreen a lot, and that's several generations out of date, so I think I'll keep playing generation IV as well. I also still have a lot I want to do on HGSS, in particular, and I really love Johto (I would stilll play GSC a lot, if the batteries on all three games hadn't died), so that's definitely an incentive for me to stick with gen IV.

So far, I've noticed that the generation that's out has very little effect on which game(s) I play. When I have time to play games, I tend to alternate, and frequently prefer older games to newer ones, so I'll certainly continue to play gen IV.

Arlo January 14th, 2013 2:36 PM

Sure. I just follow my whims - if I'm in the mood for a particular game, I play it. I played Pearl for a while just last night.

Joris14 January 15th, 2013 1:24 AM

i like the 4th generations more than any generation.. i havnt played the 5th generation because in my opinion they dont look like anything...

alisaie January 15th, 2013 1:41 PM

It's likely. If I ever get my hands on a fourth generation game again since I cannot find my Pearl and Platinum. But I do have a Soul Silver that I am likely to still pick up from time to time. Just like how I used to occasionally pick up my Ruby version.

EQUALSGAMER January 15th, 2013 2:08 PM

Once 6th gen comes out we all will abandon them, YES EVERYONE WILL. But for how long is where answers begin to differ from one another. I will ditch them once it comes out until I have beaten it, more than likely. But I know for a fact I will play those games again since gen 4 was the first pokemon game I played that I could truly enjoy, now I don't want to go "nostalgia overload" on you guys so i'll keep it brief. Pearl is probably the second most beaten pokemon game I have played, (The first being emerald) and I haven't stopped playing sapphire, colosseum, or even the original red. I will probably stop playing them once they refuse to work or the internal battery dies, which will lead to a good week or two of sucking my thumb in the feetal position in the corner of my room with the lights out.

Margaery Tyrell January 15th, 2013 5:31 PM

Often. I replay most of my Gen. 4 games mostly because I just love them so much. Great storyline, great characters - and of course, great Pokemon. I have too many memories with SoulSilver and Diamond/Platinum to stop. :)

Musica January 15th, 2013 5:51 PM

Yep, I restarted my Plat and SS games and will play them after I am done with Emerald (hopefully, soon!)

Miss Anne Thrope January 15th, 2013 9:40 PM

Oh God, yes! My favorite game is Platinum, with Heartgold/Soulsilver close behind. I love the follow feature.

Platina Berlitz January 15th, 2013 11:28 PM

I'm replaying Platinum as we speak actually as I count down toward the new games, haha. I think I may keep playing as it was a favourite generation of mine

Cerberus87 January 16th, 2013 1:08 AM

Of course! In fact, make it all the DS games (including BW and their sequels). 4th gen had the single most important change in Pokémon history (Physical/Special split), gave all Pokémon tons of strong moves, balanced old Pokémon with cool new evolutions, and the world of Sinnoh is very nice to navigate.

Shiny Bidoof January 16th, 2013 8:36 AM

I'm thinking of shelling out for platinum if I get a working DS soon. Love the 4th gen pokemon, and the games are real cheap now.

Legobricks January 16th, 2013 11:26 AM

If I had Platinum then possibly for the contests, but I don't. SoulSilver, which I do have, lacks the retro charm of the original second generation games, so playing that is even less likely than if I were to play Sapphire again.

s0nido January 18th, 2013 8:14 PM

I don't think I've ever ditched a generation of Pokemon completely. except gen1 I'm sorry ;~;
I always go back to play the Pokemon games I have at least once, especially when I've just finished a game from the current generation and want to relive the nostalgia. Also, like some of the other people here, I play through the older generation of Pokemon games when I'm awaiting the next release.

dragonfly_dust January 18th, 2013 9:23 PM

I still use my Diamond version as storage for all my pokemon from both four and third generation games.

venetianghost January 18th, 2013 10:18 PM

Heart Gold will always have a place in my DS. I enjoyed it much like I enjoyed the original Gold.

pkmn.master January 21st, 2013 5:48 PM

I still play my Yellow and Chrystal version, so I am pretty sure that fourth gen will not lose that many players.

Whistler January 21st, 2013 9:38 PM

I didn't really like Diamond and Pearl much, but Soul Silver was great. I want my Pokemon to follow me all the time. :)

Still, I caught so many Pokemon in Soul Silver that I don't want to delete it. I want to play through it again though...AAAH!!!! WHAT DO I DO?!? ;___;

Corvus of the Black Night January 21st, 2013 10:17 PM

I honestly didn't like the 4th generation much at all. Heartgold was cool but not enough to keep me going.

I've been playing Gen III and V a lot more :/

Sydian January 21st, 2013 11:04 PM

I'm still sitting here playing gen III games, and I and II. I'm not gonna skimp out on the 4th! It is my least favorite gen though, only because DP leave such a sour taste and Sinnoh is difficult to traverse. But I don't outright hate it. I love Platinum and HGSS and those three are enough to keep me going. Plus, I still gotta learn how to RNG in HGSS. ;3

CourageHound January 21st, 2013 11:26 PM

I still have HGSS and Iwill pick them up every now and then solely because I like the walking feature ssoooo much. If the new gen brings the follow me feature back, then it'll be a long, loong time before I pick them up again.

Of course I'd pick them up. I always need a dose of nostalgia, so I crack open my old games and start playing them, so for sure, I'll be playing these games soon enough.

Seth Rollins January 22nd, 2013 5:44 AM

Of course, I play with them! I always hunt legendaries (not kill them of course, you know what.) when I finish the game. I still can't capture Uxie for a reason in my Platinum xD. Not only that, but HG/SS is my favorite game. Trying to have all legendaries I can in HG/SS and the Pokemon follows you! Who doesn't like that? So yes, I play D/P/PT and HG/SS. ;)

Musica January 22nd, 2013 5:57 PM

Yep, I am still playing Soul Silver. After this, I'd play Platinum. Although I'm speeding things up for Plat because I just want Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina.

hpstr January 27th, 2013 8:54 PM

Yes, because the storyline of the silver/gold games is my favorite one, and I always go back to it.

Crackin355 January 28th, 2013 7:45 AM

Well I do Monotype Challenges on a daily basis (one badge per day usually), so I play the games daily.

I don't think I will stop playing the games, I still play FireRed and Emerald every few days and they're even more outdated than Gen IV

Virtual Chatot January 29th, 2013 3:53 PM

I've played through my Diamond thrice; I haven't upgraded to a 3DS or played any generations after generation IV.

As someone who has played the games from the absolute beginning of Pokémon (in North America at least; started playing Pokémon Blue at the age of six!) the D/P/Pl generation was relatively disappointing compared to the certain magic I felt when playing generations one through three. After playing Diamond the first time thorugh I felt that Gamefreak had sold out a great deal with the fourth generation and thereafter to make the games easier for a younger generation of kids. Granted this is where all the money was to be found, but I still felt to a certain degree betrayed. Diamond was almost too easy. It's entirely possible I've just outgrown the familiar game mechanics and I lack the patience I once had to stare at a screen for hours on end.

JohnnyJ773 February 11th, 2013 10:46 PM

I love the Heart Gold, the original pokemon are the best. I think i will

Caelus February 11th, 2013 11:12 PM

I really enjoyed playing DPP and HGSS so even with the 6th generation games getting closer to being released I'll still play those games every now and then. Unless they remake them I don't see why I would stop playing any game from the 4th gen.

smurf February 11th, 2013 11:16 PM

I wont ditch worth gen maily becuz i have boxes full of strong pokemon on them plus there still good games with kool story lines

Canen February 15th, 2013 3:18 AM

I'm glad to see that there are still so many fans of Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. In my opinion it is one of the best generations and it would be a damned shame if people gave up on it.

BUKKØW February 15th, 2013 6:50 AM

I dont think i could ever stop playing these games.

AddictedMonster February 15th, 2013 1:05 PM

I only picked up HG for the first time two days ago so im going to be playing that for a good while. when thats over ill try one of the DPP games and then on to the Black and White series 1 and 2. I dont think ill be through all of those by the time gen 6 is out anyway ;)

Shayminlover123 February 17th, 2013 4:47 AM

Yes. The 4th gen is where I started and I would like to play the games again.

HappyGaylord February 17th, 2013 7:01 AM

I just bought Platinum, so I'm "still" playing it. Haha! : )
I'm also planning on getting HeartGold soon~!

Isseubnida February 18th, 2013 1:01 PM

I still practice the tradition of replaying the old(er) Pokemon games.

Roughsponge February 20th, 2013 3:11 PM

I never really give up entirely on a Pokemon game, so I will be playing Platinum and SS (as well as every other main series game) for many years to come! :P

The Amazing Justin February 20th, 2013 6:26 PM

I still play all previous generations YEARS after they've become defunct.

Student D1 February 21st, 2013 2:37 AM

Actually, other than White 2, I'm also playing my Platinum which I have not finished yet. I'm currently on my way to the 7th Gym, but I still had to do some preparations and training to get started.

I'm also going to play my SoulSilver soon; I finished it before, but I didn't like my progress, so I deleted my save file and will start a new journey... again, soon.

Canen February 21st, 2013 4:16 AM

This may sound a bit wierd but it might be worth keeping a note of the people on here who still play D/P/Pt. Wouldn't it be cool if we had a network of people who we know we could battle with and trade against? Its so hard to find someone who hasn't sold their soul to the 5th generation and moved their teams across.

What do you guys reckon?

Elaitenstile February 21st, 2013 4:17 AM

Me and my best friend, we're one of a kind. We loved Platinum, and I honestly thought HGSS and BW were no match for Platinum. True, I love Hoenn, but that doesn't mean I'd stop playing Gen IV games. Also, it's fun to notice that after Gen VI, Gen IV would become nostalgia for a LOT of people. So, other than HGSS, I'd never stop playing em.

Wild_Squirtle February 21st, 2013 11:34 AM

Well I will play any generation of Pokémon :) Although Diamond/Pearl has been one of my favourites so far. As I said id play any version as long as its Pokémon haha

Necrum February 21st, 2013 12:51 PM

I'm sure I will grow more and more distant from Sinnoh as time passes, I will definitely still be playing HGSS for a long time. They are , in my opinion, the best Pokemon games to date. But I am picking up really old Pokemon games right now for the first time in years and thoroughly enjoying myself, so I'm sure that I will never let them die.

Firox February 21st, 2013 2:23 PM

Not to long ago I started playing the gen 4 games, so I know I won't let go of them anytime soon. Soul Silver just defeated the first gym, Pearl just defeated the 3rd gym. I still haven't finished my gen 5 game either, so I have a long way to go.

No, I won't ever quit playing gen 4 games. They are so addicting.

Twiddle February 22nd, 2013 2:14 PM

I don't think I'll ever be able to stop playing these games. Only when my NDS eventually passes out.

Although it still bothers me that HG/SS have such wild low levels, but it's okay.

tbuggy10 February 22nd, 2013 5:04 PM

Heck yes!!! I love Pokemon Diamond. I've been playing it ever since 2010! X3

twistedpuppy February 22nd, 2013 6:24 PM

Meh...usually when a new game comes out I drop the older one like a used tissue, but 4th Gen has it's RNG purposes, so I'll still use it once in a while. I'm so mean. /dun curr

Inky February 23rd, 2013 2:24 AM

Was playing Platinum just last night. 4th Generation was my favourite generation - I don't see myself giving up on it any time soon.

IsaacTwentySeven February 23rd, 2013 9:13 PM

I'd like to buy Platinum, Pearl got very boring. I play SoulSilver a lot now, I love remakes of older games.

dragonfly_dust February 23rd, 2013 10:20 PM

It's so easy to use AR codes on the 4th gen so...YES!

Sydian February 26th, 2013 3:42 PM

I rarely ever touch DP, because they run so slowly and it's honestly difficult to go back to them after playing games after their release...hell, it's hard to play them after playing a gen 3 game. They're just THAT slow! But I love Platinum and restarted mine last year, and I love HGSS as well. I mean, I still play games from gen I and II. I don't really give up any gen, and while 4th gen isn't my favorite, it has Platinum and HGSS, and that's all that matters. <3

IvanSky07 February 27th, 2013 5:01 AM

Of course, I'll still be playing 4th gen games... Especially Pokemon Heart Gold... because I feel comfort by doing such. (Weird, Hey?? :D)

cxd February 27th, 2013 11:16 AM

Maybe my Platinum, but I won't stop playing HeartGold.

Demon Days March 12th, 2013 2:20 AM

I'll probably still play Platinum and HG/SS, although D/P will probably be stored and forgotten in the depths of time and space.

Zorogami March 13th, 2013 12:01 AM

No matter how many new Gens come out, every once in a while I'll always pick up one of the older games and have a run at it again. I like to relive the experiences i had when i played the games for the first time, sometimes it's just for fun, sometimes I'll do a challenge on it just to change up the gameplay

Jaysfinest1 March 13th, 2013 12:05 PM

in all reality, these games would never die, and expecially the heart gold, and SS.

and coming from the old timer, i i remember when gold and silver originally came out (remind you, if you ask any old timer 80% of them will tell you that Gen 1 and 2 we're the greatest out of the games). and these games we're just unimaginable to their extent.

So when red and blue originally came out, these we're the most unique games of it's time.. For playstation you had Final Fantasy 7 and Xenogears.. for game boy, you had pokemon or pacman or bomberman. and pokemon clearly hit the charts destroying everything in it's path. a Unique RPG where you can see your pokemon level up and take them through a journey of a game that takes forever to beat? it was un-herd of for it's time.

When silver and gold hit the market, whole new beginning (with the best pokemon class IMO) and it was amazing, alot more free-space, bigger map, new adventure, new hms tms etc you name it was there. When you got done with the game, game is usually over right? No.. they re-introduced red and blue BACK into the story mode with silver and gold.. there is just no comparsion to it and i wish they would do this with the newer pokemon games as well.

So all in all to your question, these games will never die. EVER.

Zorogami March 13th, 2013 2:34 PM

^ You almost made me cry Jay, couldn't have put it any better!

Bounsweet March 13th, 2013 2:39 PM

Heck, I even play Red and Blue once in a while.

I play all of the games a lot XD My least-played generation is probably Gen II because of the battery issue, and I only have one working cartridge which sucks because I like trading between my games throughout the storyline to get Pokemon otherwise unobtainable.

But, I still play Gen IV a lot now and plan to do so more in the future when I pick up Battle Revolution.

Charizardguy March 14th, 2013 11:41 PM

I will definitely keep playing my SoulSilver. I was really disappointed when I bought Pokemon Black. I honestly can't remember much of the game - story, setting and pokemon. I played the game through once and it too straight forward to enjoy. Couldn't find anything to do after the Elite Four.

You never know, though, the new games could be quite enjoyable. I never had any hopes for Diamond or Pearl. I didn't buy a copy of Diamond until a year and a bit after it was released. When I bought it, I found it was a pretty awesome game. I'm hoping the same for X&Y.

Zorogami March 15th, 2013 1:44 AM

I was too, but i think Black2 and White2 made up for that since they are AWESOME!
And I'll pretty much replay every Gen now and then, sometimes for challenges, sometimes for fun.
Heck, sometimes i start playing Red again just to listen to that awesome soundtrack! :D

Correspondence March 15th, 2013 2:56 AM

Well i most likely won't be able to get the 6th Gen games for a while so what better to do than to revisit the older gens.

Warship March 15th, 2013 7:19 AM

i definitely will pearl was my very first game and i wont ever forget it in fact im still trying to make a good team from scratch

Altair March 17th, 2013 9:39 PM

I'll definitely still be playing the fourth gen. I have all the fourth gen main games, however I've just started them last week. (I've finished Diamond in 2007 but traded it in) ... So I'm working on D/P/Pt and HG/SS, I'm also playing through the fifth gen games too, finished Black last year but traded it as well. -_- ... My goal is to at least finish 4th gen games before October 2013. I'll still play them though after finishing them... Maybe. ;P

Princess Sandshrew March 19th, 2013 4:54 AM

I will still play gen 4 games, but much less so I feel. I put most of the time I play pokemon into the newer games, but I do still play all the generations of games (mostly for a nuzlocke challenge).
Right now I play gen 3 and 5 mostly, so maybe it'll become gen 4 and 6 next. Though I doubt it, since gen 3 still feels special to me.

Diversion March 19th, 2013 5:05 AM

Of course I will!
No matter how old they get, I will still play them.
Since they were very fun to play, and I could use some challenges, to enjoy even more!

wait woah, pearl was your very first game? my friend, you have alot of catching up to do. do me a favor and DO NOT and i repeat, DO NOT buy any more pokemon games until you have played fire red or leaf green, or even HG OR SS.

lazy~ March 19th, 2013 5:37 PM

I recently restarted platinum and I'm having a lot of fun with it and since I live gold and silver so much when I was growing up, I'm sure I'll continue to play heart gold through future generations.

Mothman~ March 19th, 2013 8:41 PM

I have a confession to make: I've never played a Pokemon game from the 4th generation. That'll change soon though, since I ordered a copy of Pearl for $10 on ebay earlier today. So this will be a completely new adventure for myself.

PsytronicX March 22nd, 2013 3:39 PM

I'll be playing and replaying Gen IV long after VI comes out, I loved them all. My love for the games has been rekindled recently and so I've been playing through them more often.

Sableye~ March 24th, 2013 1:58 PM

Of course. Diamond was my first Pokemon game, so I specifically like it. I also am just not a big fan of Gen V, so it's the most recent game I play.

Though I figure I always will play it, considering I still mess around with my oldest games, which are Ruby/Emerald/Sapphire.

Ace. April 2nd, 2013 11:29 PM

I would play them every now and then. Right now i feel like playing Platinum :3

Zoegrace1 April 21st, 2013 9:28 PM

I'm going to find it harder to play soon, but i'm still finding Pokemon with the Poke Radar, and I have a bunch of cool Pokemon, Nidoking, yesh. I still can't seem to get past Ultra Rank contests, but my region is suffering from a giant berry drought, so I have to be careful with poffins. If I need good contest stats or whatever, then I need to trade it to my friend, who has a 'Super Poffins' cheat. YESH.

vaporeon7 April 22nd, 2013 5:15 AM

I honestly would struggle to play Diamond and Pearl again, because they are just way too slow for me. Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver are all great games however and I would happily replay any of them.

OFC I PLAY THEM. GEN 4 IS THE BEST. Especially HGSS ;) Because its awesome and the PKMNs follow you. Plus I am restarting both Platinum and HG, so yeah.

although im replying a bit late dont waste your breath telling me that i played games of each generation and loved them all. just because i started with pearl doesnt mean i havent played any other games since. heck it was like 6 years ago when i first played pearl not 2 days ago.

Probably in some future I will start Platinum again. THis is my most favorite Pokemon game and 4th Gen is my most favorite as well.

I absolutely love the Fourth Generation. It's where I started, and it's where I'm gonna stay. My favourite game of all time is Platinum, and I'll continue playing it for a long time.

Definitely. I have 6 games: LeafGreen, Emerald, Diamond, Platinum, HeartGold and Black. Out of them, setting aside Emerald for nostalgia, HeartGold or Platinum is my favourite and Black is the only one I don't want to replay that much (hence I never bothered getting Black 2). I seriously doubt I'll upgrade from a DSi to a 3DS, so as well as being class games, they'll also be my most up-to-date (Even though Diamond's 6 years old now!). So, yeah definitely play Gen IV post-Gen VI

I've toned down my use of cartridge games considerably due to my affection for competitive Pokemon, but I'm trying to find it within myself to get SoulSilver started and I've started a fourth Diamond playthrough. I don't think these will be getting too old for me any time soon. So, yes, I'll still be playing fourth generation games well into the future, it seems.

I haven't even finished my soul silver yet, so heck yeah I'm gonna keep playing. The jhoto generation will never get old for me, I have a lot of great memories associated with my original silver. I bet anyone who played the original generations when they came out would feel the same, nostalgia beats all.
