Pokémon: Choose your own Adventure: Kanto
I loved those books where you could choose your own adventure...esepcially the Goosebump ones. So I thought, why not combine it with a game that's perfect for that? Thus thread born.
Also with tags like (RANDOM EVENT!) I will roll a die from 1 - 20, and the number that I get will determine the success. Oh and have fun. Or a small Fennekin will tear you up. Pallet Town Starting Scenario: You are Red, of Pallet Town. Today is your tenth birthday, so it's time to get a Pokemon from Prof. Oak. He said he would be waiting outside for you, but you go outside and don't see Prof. Oak--anywhere! With no adult supervision, you have a few choices. So you ask the people through that brick wall over there that you can see. Pallet Town's pretty small. The only places you could really go is Daisy's (Gary says it's his but it's really not) House and Prof. Oak's Lab...You could also go adventuring--with No Pokemon. (;)) Choices: 1) Leave the town through the Northernbound Exit. Time to do some searching! Even though all the warnings about tall grass is probably true.. 2) Visit Daisy. Maybe she knows where Prof. Oak is. 3) Visit Prof. Oak's Lab. Maybe Oak got tired of waiting and went back to his lab. He is like 60 after all. 4) Try jumping over the hilariously small fence. (RANDOM EVENT!) Exactly what it says on the tin. That fence is no fence, it's a mini fence! There's a chance of failure, though. But if you succeed, maybe you could swim to Cinnabar! Woohoo! POST AWAY! |
Yay we're Red! The greatest Trainer of all time!
I chose you, pika option two! |

Very well. I choose for option 4.

>Jump the fence (d20 says: 10, a slight success)
Scenario: You jump the fence. Hooray! However, Prof. Oak comes over. "Red, where are you doing?! You'll step into the tall grass!" He says, and he drags you over the fence and into his lab. (anti-climatic eh) Prof. Oak's Lab At the lab, Gary's waiting. "I've been waiting all day to get a Pokemon because of Red?!" he says, though that isn't completely true. "Now now, Gary. Don't be too impatient," Oak says. "Do you see, Red? On that table over there, there's three Pokemon. They're locked away brutally secured in those balls, called PokeBalls. You and Gary may have one. Choose first wisely." "WHAT?!" Gary yells at the top of his lungs. You just stare at him. "Dude, chill. It's just a Pokémon." You tell him. "But...I want to go first!" He then says afterwards. Alright, time to pick your POKéMON! I would go with Charmander, but Red Manga rocks LMAO! BULBASSAUR!
|
>Choose Bulbasaur.
Scenario: You decide to choose the Pokeball on the left end, and you send out the Pokemon inside. It's a Bulbasaur! "Bulbaa!" The Pokemon cries. "FINALLY!" It's Gary's turn to pick, and he picks the middle Pokeball. "My Pokemon's so much stronger than yours, Red." He tells you. "Bubba..." Your Bulbasaur doesn't seem to disagree with that, but you do. "Really? Prove it!!" "Alright! You asked for it!" Gary says has he sends out his Charmander. ~BATTLE!~ http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/e/e9/Spr_3f_004.png Charmander, Lv5 Fire type Moves: ~Scratch ~Growl "Oh no..." You think. Charmander's a fire type, so Bulbasaur's at type disadvantage. You know this because of Viridian's Pokemon Trainer School. You send Bulbasaur into battle reluctantly. Shouldn't have opened your big Meowth, huh? At least he doesn't have any fire type moves yet. Choices 1) Bulbasaur, use Tackle! 2) Bulbasaur, use Growl! 3) Give up. Your Stats Team Spoiler:

Use Tackle! Normal type attacks are neutral against Fire types.
|
I say growl! Dude has Scratch, thing does 40 base damage. One Growl cuts it to 30. The more you survive, the better.
|
Tackle, in fire red my friend kept using tackle, and his bulbassaur won.

>Bulbasaur, use Tackle!
you say. Bulbasaur jumps and rams Charmander, dead in the stomach. "Bulbaaaa!" it yells while on top of Charmander. However, this gives a chance for Charmander to use Growl--Up close and personal. "Charrraaaaa." it cries out sweetly (wtf?!), and Bulbasaur mellows down a little bit. "Charmander, use Scratch!" Gary commands. Charmander then pushes Bulbasaur off of him and takes his claws and scratches Bulbasaur using them. "Use Tackle again!" You tell Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur rams Charmander, and even though it was a weakened Tackle, Charmander is it with it hard (Critical hit!) Charmander faints. "Unbelievable! I picked the wrong Pokemon!" Gary says as he recalls Charmander. "Alright, smell ya later Red and Gramps! Gotta toughen up!" He tells you. And then Gary leaves. Meanwhile, Oak slips 5 Pokeballs and a Pokedex into your bag. You feel the movement and turn around and have Bulbasaur tackle Oak. Bulbasaur then just happens to gain a level. "I was just trying to help..." Oak says. "Gary and Leaf already forgot theirs so....." "Oops." Just slips out of your mouth. "Come on Bulbasaur, lets go to Route 1!" You instantly forget that you just had your Pokemon tackle an old man. Route 1 It's Route 1, the route to Viridian! On your way there, you can do something. There's that guy over there that looks like he's from the PokeMart, but other than that WHAT DO YOU DO????? lol Choices 1) Look for a Wild Pokemon 2) Talk to the obvious Viridian PokeMart Clerk 3) Train Bulbasaur (5 levels) Your Stats Team: Spoiler:
