Additional Fakemon!

NEW! Finally, support banners!

And, if anyone should need them, the fakemon sprites!
Spoiler:

Current version and download link:

Pokemon Iridescent 1.4.1
The complete game!

Don't know how to apply an .ips patch? Go here.

If you cannot save normally (aka, without save states), then your game will end after you beat the E4 the first time. To fix this, try looking at these links:
http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1300732&postcount=15 -> for the internal saving issue
http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=PNZjw3ZB -> for the "1M sub circuit board is not installed" issue

Known Glitches:
Item ball appears and disappears in Viridian before taking it.
Hippowdon sprite in dex is glitchy.
Also, hippowdon appears to have the stats of Deoxys attack form, despite my best efforts to fix it.
Some Rival battles don't happen for some people (8th badge).

Why is Bibarel Water/Flying in this hack while Bidoof is still pure Normal?

Saltsas January 27th, 2013 5:20 AM

very nice hack!May I ask why is it in slideshow showcase? Is it because of the map?anyways good luck the sprites seem to be pretty cool ^^

Aryan143 January 27th, 2013 7:53 AM

Wow this hack is great. And why is Bibarel Normal/Flying. I also want to help you with the hack. I will PM you about what can I do.

Noossab Blue January 27th, 2013 8:31 AM

I made bibarel water/flying and have pickup so that it can function as the ultimate HM slave. It can now fly, and pickup is wonderfully useful too.

However, I could definitely change bidoof to water if you think that's more appropriate. I just didn't mess with it originally.

@Saltsas- I PM'd a mod about it and they said it was borderline, but decided it belonged here because the map was only rearranged, not actually changed. And the plot is very similar to the original as well.

Southueki January 27th, 2013 9:08 AM

I am SOO excited about this hack!!

My only "complaints" after seeing the screenshots are:

The ground and the fighting starts look a little weird (first one looks perfect!), and the fighting one also seems a little small

Noossab Blue January 27th, 2013 9:35 AM

Thanks! The fighting type is a bit small, but it evolves early(er) and gets bigger. It's kinda the runt.

Could you be more specific about what looks weird?

I went ahead to see the evolutions and please, forget what I said!
They look amazing!!

Specially that fighting type, omg, I love it! Congrats, really :))

Also, I think I read somewhere in the main post you had 11 Fakemon, but I was only able to find 10 :x

The 9 starters/their evolutions and that one with an amazing typing (don't wanna be a spoiler), the green/red one ahah

Edit: OH!! I get it now! You said you still had to add Viroach (?)'s sprite! Is that him? :D

Edit2: I also love the typings you gave the starters. Kudos, this hack deserves alot more attention!

Noossab Blue January 30th, 2013 7:14 AM

Thanks!

I just updated to 0.9.9. This has bidoof as water/normal (per request :)) and the modified stats of pokemon as part of their pokedex entries.

Cool, I'll be waiting for more updates! :D

Lord Varion January 30th, 2013 3:25 PM

You could really just make this into a new region.
Rather than fairly obvious edits of Kanto, and using kanto and reshaping it.

Noossab Blue January 30th, 2013 9:29 PM

I've considered it, but I still use all of the major plot points of the Kanto games. I think I'd rather just start a new hack in a new region and leave this one be, especially given what I know now vs. what I knew when I started this hack. Also in a new region you're expecting to not know what's happening, but at the beginning of this hack since you can tell it's Kanto you aren't necessarily expecting the rearrangement...

thetripplenine January 31st, 2013 6:48 PM

I'll do the beta testing lol i clicked the picture in the hack thread...

EDIT: I can also do something else if you want me to, just pm me :)

HeroesAndCons February 1st, 2013 12:48 PM

Speaking as someone who is attempting to make their own Fakemon hack as we speak, you've really done an awesome job with your fakemons! The edited Kanto is awesome too! Great job :)

pawell6 February 1st, 2013 2:35 PM

When i want to see map, it shows me the old map of kanto, not from screenshot. Any idea?

Noossab Blue February 1st, 2013 3:35 PM

@Heroes- thanks! the Spriting was all taichiwind...and he's done a wonderful job.

@pawell6- I don't know how to insert a new world map, so that's not a glitch. That's why Daisy says "All I have is this old one..."

If anyone would be willing to make it for me, they would be handsomely rewarded credited...

-I'm interested in making some visual changes to the hack (like the title screen, world map, possibly a new pair of heros, maybe even a new tile set) but am not an artist nor am I capable of inserting images...

To make the smaller version of an ingame new hero, use NSE (nameless sprite editor), you can also change the mom and all the different people using this.

You have unlzgba right, use that to make the new hero in battle.

Noossab Blue February 1st, 2013 9:04 PM

Well that would solve the how...but I still don't have the means of creating them. Plus the biggest deal to me is the title screen and world map.

lizzzz February 3rd, 2013 5:00 PM

I really enjoyed playing this hack. Seriously! I am only on my first run-through but I want to play with each new starter. I got super addicted and spent my whole weekend playing! However.. I got stuck.. and since I really want to finish the game...

Spoiler:
How do I get to Vermillion City? I've looked everywhere.. I went from Fuscia City to Sea Cave which took me to Cinnebar and then when I surfed it took me to Pallet town like usual. So I guess I just want to know how to get my 7th badge? I've got all the HMs (except whirlpool) but I don't know what to do :(

Noossab Blue February 5th, 2013 2:48 PM

You need to go south from lavender! I put a girl outside the cinnabar gym that says that because I knew it wouldn't be intuitive, but I don't know how to bring more attention to it. Glad you are enjoying it though!

Ohh..Ok. Well I feel like I tried that, I went around in circles for ever using fly and surf, but now that I took a break for a few days I'll turn it on with fresh eyes and I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out.

I'm more than enjoying this hack! it's what's going to hold me over until X comes out! lol

-The marowak encounter in pokemon tower is too low a level. I thought this would be an easy fix but apparently not...
-The menu for pokemon prizes at the game corner...I downloaded multichoice editor but can't get it to work...
-I'm interested in making some visual changes to the hack (like the title screen, world map, possibly a new pair of heros, maybe even a new tile set) but am not an artist nor am I capable of inserting images...

hey look I can actually help with one of these...

to rewrite the game corner prize list... you need advancetext

it does not have what your are looking for exactly, but if you go to search, type in the work you are lookig for "ABRA" and select "start from beginning of text" (or something like that) it will find every time ABRA is used... and when you see one that has "ABRA [some slashes and numbers][a couple more] 800C" that is the one you want, tell it to add to ini, then you can edit it, and repoint it (if needed) one selection at a time... search CLEFAIRY next then DRATINI or whoever you need to edit...

also the offsets are in decimal... and they will be close to eachother (16 something if I recall)

atleast thats how I did it in my hack...

I am assuming you already actually changed the pokemon the woman gives you aswell as the cost. so you should know what you are changeing them to...

keep an eye on those [slashes and numbers] in my mind they work like a [Tab] button... they account for a large space, if you are changing 800C to 1200C you are usingmore characters so you will need to alter the [slachse and numbers] just look at the one on another pokemon that uses the same amount of digits and copy that one... (1200C is 5 characters where 800C is only 4)

just to keep everything lined up...

I hope I made since... im not really good at this I just worked out that particular problem for my own hack

(abras only 180C isnt he... you get the picture dont ya)

Noossab Blue February 9th, 2013 12:08 PM

Dude, thank you. This was so simple and worked perfectly!

For that, you may have an update :). Version 0.9.10 out!

LocksmithArmy February 9th, 2013 3:00 PM

Good, im so happy it worked for you ;)

after my computer crash earlier this week I have not got advancetext to run for me yet so I couldnt get any better descriptions...

if it is something you neglected, I was also able to edit the player and rival default names in the same manner

You see, the hack is nigh-finished, but there's only two things missing, and one of them is optional. Both of them though, have to be done by me. One of them is the sprite of Viroach, the other is a redesign of Ludicolo. Now, the EVIL REAL LIFE has been getting in the way of me making either of those, but it is certain that I will make Viroach. However, the issue is that I probably will not redesign Ludicolo, because there's not enough free time/motivation for me to do so. BUT. If there is enough people who want me to give Ludicolo a facelift, I will do it. As they say, by popular demand.

I honestly don't mind Ludicolo, in all honesty, I don't even see why he would need a new sprite (maybe a back sprite lol cause seen from behind he looks rather ugly/disappointing).

I want Viroach's sprite soon tho, I am really curious to know how he's gonna look like, his typing, etc

Make us something awesome please :3

Good luck :D

pawell6 February 17th, 2013 4:30 AM

Anyone knows where i could get 4th badge?

Noossab Blue February 17th, 2013 12:06 PM

Fourth badge is Fuchsia. You'll have to get the pokeflute first though, if you haven't already.

megasaturn999 February 25th, 2013 4:18 PM

This is a fantastic hack! Just wondering though, where do you get Turtwig?

Noossab Blue February 25th, 2013 5:44 PM

Spoilered 'cause...

Spoiler:
Turtwig is on Route 11- Very Rare

megasaturn999 February 26th, 2013 5:49 AM

Jeez I've been through that route so many times. It must be pretty rare.

Noossab Blue February 27th, 2013 6:27 PM

All the starters are...I wanted the pokedex to be completable but challenging, so the starters kinda got hidden...

megasaturn999 February 28th, 2013 5:34 AM

Oh boy fun. Wish me luck in finding one!

Ok so just wondering. Is route 11 even accessible? I have no idea how to get to it. When I try to get to route 11 I walk through the house and I'm in route 7. Can I get thereby going through 14?

Noossab Blue March 1st, 2013 8:16 PM

Route 11 is only available after 6 badges. It's connected to route 15.

megasaturn999 March 2nd, 2013 11:42 AM

Jeez that's confusing. I only have 3 badges :( I suppose I can just get a rhenda later seeing as all I need is an electric resist.

Lastchance3507 April 2nd, 2013 12:36 PM

Where do you find Hm03/Surf?
And how do you get to Vermillion? I cant use strength yet.

Noossab Blue April 2nd, 2013 6:47 PM

I answered your PM, but I'll answer it here too incase anyone else has problems. Surf is from one of Oak's aides, I believe the one west of Saffron on the second floor of the gate.

Vermillion is due south of Lavender, but you have to get the Cinnabar badge to use strength, which means you need surf first.

Noossab Blue April 19th, 2013 6:46 PM

I just wanted to give everyone an update.

I'm getting very near to a final release. I have a new spriter on board since my other one kinda dropped off the map, and to be consistent they are redoing all of the fakemon. Meanwhile, I am trying to get all of the little bugs I've discovered worked out.

That being said, if you find anything wrong at all, PLEASE let me know. In a PM, VM, on this topic...it doesn't matter.

Also, I am trying to import a world map so that the mass confusion ceases. However, right now what I'm getting is the map without the background color (aka, everything is there except that instead of the sea color, its white). If anyone has some expertise on this, I would be greatly appreciative if you could help me out.

Thanks all!

Eren Jaeger April 19th, 2013 6:52 PM

I don't really like fake Pokemon, but I think it was done well. :D
The tilesets, needs some work though.. and a snowy mountain
in the snowy part, right? but anyways, good luck!

ablahblah987 April 28th, 2013 11:20 AM

I'm enjoying this hack. Could somebody please explain where HM04/Strength is? And where can you catch Beldum or Metang? Thanks in advance.

Edit: I found Strength but I'm still looking for Beldum.

Noossab Blue May 5th, 2013 8:19 AM

Glad you are enjoying it!

Spoiler:
Beldum is on Kindle Road, very rare.

Noossab Blue May 26th, 2013 9:00 AM

Hey everyone, I just want to give an update.

I am still struggling with the world map issue, so if anyone knows how to insert it correctly, please hit me up.

Other than that, I have inserted the new Viroach and Rhenda sprites, as well as fixed the Sevii Island glitch that sends you straight home once you get there the first time. I wanted 0.9.10 to be my last update before the final, but I think the above fixes warrant their own update while I get the world map thing sorted. So without further ado...

Version 0.9.11

Enjoy! And as always, feel free to comment/question/criticize!

aco June 12th, 2013 11:32 PM

where can i find hm strength

Noossab Blue June 17th, 2013 2:17 PM

Strength is given out by a man in Fuchsia, as you enter the east gate.

XeroNos August 31st, 2013 12:34 AM

I am seem surprised that this hack has a great story and is complete but people still have not gave it more feed back?

XeroNos September 9th, 2013 1:12 AM

Hope I am not double posting here because I was eager to give updates about this hack. The idea and story line is great. I just entered Cerulean city though and a bit confused to where to go next first as there are two options for me either to go north first or to go to west towards Mt. Moon. The story so far has not directed me where i should go so I thought I would give feed back here to get any answers.

Orifiel September 9th, 2013 1:20 AM

Some screenshots we're not able to show up.
In any case, I would like to try this but.. There's fake Pokemons
Anyways, Nice work.

Shoryu September 9th, 2013 4:26 AM

Kirlia doesn't evolve at level 30. What level does it evolve at in this hack? Or do I need a stone?

XeroNos September 9th, 2013 10:29 PM

Refer the first and it will help you. I think Kirlia evolves into Gallade by using a Moon Stone and it must be a Male Kirlia too

Noossab Blue September 10th, 2013 8:46 PM

Woah glad to see some action on this thread!

@alienhunterx- Glad you like the story! To answer your question, there isn't a specific order you need to do things, in Cerulean or anywhere else really. So west or north both work :)

@L96- Thanks for pointing out the screen shots. I moved some stuff around and forgot to fix it...and yeah, there are a few fakemon, but most of them are real!

@Shoryu- I seem to have forgotten to add gallade's evolution method to the OP. I'll take care of that now :)

Noossab Blue September 20th, 2013 2:07 PM

Ok all, I bring you...

THE FINAL VERSION

Unfortunately, I never figured out the world map, and never received any help on it, so it is what it is. Next I will be working on a readme that will have a map and pokedex hopefully, so there is hope yet.

I did however add a final boss battle, and change a few movesets around.

Despite this being the final version, if you find mistakes please still report them. I'll probably end up releasing a cleaner version if I need to.

Thanks all!

Noossab Blue October 8th, 2013 7:24 PM

Ok so I had a glitch reported with the aide on Route 2. It's fixed now, with a new download link.

http://www.mediafire.com/?csqwbi3iakoqc5j

Kivat October 9th, 2013 9:30 AM

is it gamebreaking? I sorta went over every pokemon in YAPE and modified it a bit and I'm not looking forward to redoing all that, lol

Noossab Blue October 9th, 2013 4:33 PM

Not at all. Just don't talk to the Aide on Route 2 after getting flash or it will lock up the game.

George Beamish October 18th, 2013 4:50 PM

I found out there was a spelling mistake in that Phanpy was called Phanphy. Just thought I ought to tell you. Otherwise, a brilliant hack. :)

Noossab Blue October 21st, 2013 8:43 AM

Thanks! I'm not gonna release a fix just for that, but I'll include it if I have to fix any other glitches.

mephisto2911 October 31st, 2013 10:20 PM

How can I visit the 8th gym?

Noossab Blue November 3rd, 2013 8:54 AM

The 8th gym is Viridian, just like in the original games. Hopefully you picked up Fly and can get there easily.

chidzz November 9th, 2013 5:50 PM

where do i find sneasal in this game....

Noossab Blue November 9th, 2013 6:53 PM

If I remember correctly sneasel is on route 3 (the ice path thing). I don't have it in front of me to look for sure though.

chidzz November 9th, 2013 11:02 PM

Thanks now where to find hm strength

Noossab Blue November 13th, 2013 8:55 PM

Strength is in Fuchsia right as you enter from the east.

Noossab Blue November 18th, 2013 6:31 PM

Good news! Now the included README file has a pokedex with all the locations of pokemon in Kanto! Sevii Islands haven't been recorded yet, but that's next on the list.

Also...while recording all the locations I found some really random errors with fishing and surfing encounters...so I updated them. Not a big deal if you don't want to patch again, but the encounters in the README won't be 100% accurate.

POKEMON IRIDESCENT 1.2

Noossab Blue December 23rd, 2013 12:16 PM

Pokemon Iridescent 1.3

Thanks to KoopaConor, The Starf is a Lie, and bfroger6 at the nuzlocke forums for their input on this!

Route 9-10 encounters have been updated to make grinding less tedious.
There are a couple more warning NPCs to hopefully guide the plot along (no required events though, so if you don't talk to people...).
Edited the 7th and 8th gym leaders' teams a bit to make them more balanced.
Route 3 receives a major makeover.
Cut has an increased crit ratio.
Gligar evolves at lvl 35.

Also the OP now has a known glitches section at the bottom, so you can look at that if something is going wrong for you.

As always, comments/criticisms/questions are welcome!

hackstar December 24th, 2013 11:06 PM

The fake starters are looking weakling.....the original starters are the best!!!!!

ninjerginjer December 26th, 2013 6:06 PM

is there a way to get porygon and what do you use to evolve it?

Noossab Blue January 2nd, 2014 6:51 PM

Porygon was supposed to be in the Pokemon Mansion, but I may have accidentally erased it from there while making edits. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble with my hacking tools since I just upgraded to windows 8, so I can't give exact info atm.

marcosmcdougall January 11th, 2014 11:46 PM

Loving this hack soooooooo much. Really great work. Not a big fan of Fakemon in games but I really like the way you went about it! Great work.

Noossab Blue January 19th, 2014 10:40 PM

Thanks! Means a lot to know people are enjoying it :D

Noossab Blue January 31st, 2014 8:52 AM

So thanks in large part to the nuzlocke runs of KoopaConor and The Starf is a Lie (also bfroger6 and DarkNymfa), I've got another update for you.

This version mostly just fixes glitches and inconsistencies, but a few things of note:
Route encounters in desert path have been slightly altered.
X-Scissor is now physical, as it should be.
Tile glitches in Vermillion fixed.
A few things were altered around Lavender and Celadon to make the order of events more clear. If you are in and around this part of the game, I would suggest NOT patching until you've defeated Cole at least, or things may get screwy.

I would also advise to patch over a clean fire red ROM each time instead of over the previous version, as there have been reports of very odd bugs when patched incorrectly.

Oh, and I guess you want a link.

Pokemon Iridescent 1.4

Aashutosh Kumar February 2nd, 2014 2:38 AM

Like this hack and one thing! The fakemon balspik's evolutions are are just like each other but just keep getting bigger!

Noossab Blue February 13th, 2014 1:02 PM

Thanks to doesnt, I was able to fix the glitch that kept your rival from appearing in the SS Anne. Here is a small update with that fixed. I'm also updating the OP.

Iridescent 1.4.1

jordan757 April 4th, 2014 3:30 AM

In risk of sounding extremely slow i will ask anyway lol..how do u play this..better question is this able to play on an emulator on an android phone because i downloaded ypur game nd im lost from here..please help..would love to try your hack

Noossab Blue April 4th, 2014 4:22 PM

To play on your phone you'll first have to use a computer to patch my IPS file onto a Fire Red ROM using LIPS or something similar. Once you've done that, save the ROM onto your SD card or email it to yourself to get it on your phone. From there it should open just fine.

jan2prado April 5th, 2014 8:24 AM

Ughh.. Viroach has shuckles moveset stats and icon... do you intend to make it like that? or am I the only one who noticed it?

Noossab Blue April 6th, 2014 3:09 PM

Viroach does have the same icon...mostly because my first spriter didn't finish all the sprites and my second doesn't know how to make icons.

The stats and moveset are similar, which is why shuckle was the mon removed to make room for it. However they have actually been changed a bit.

Pyrite April 7th, 2014 2:48 PM

I'm stuck idk what to do. I have five badges but I don't know where to go. When I'm moving to places I'm getting denied by the guards. Help!?

Noossab Blue April 10th, 2014 5:10 AM

If you've got 5 badges your next destination should be Cinnabar. Surf is from one of Oak's Aides if you don't have that already.

stusy April 18th, 2014 4:38 AM

I can't choose a starter pokemon :((((( Is there a bug here?

Noossab Blue April 18th, 2014 5:44 AM

Ummmmm it sure sounds like it. Can you be more specific about what's happening?

stusy April 18th, 2014 6:03 AM

Only 1 poke ball shown in the lab.

Noossab Blue April 18th, 2014 8:06 AM

Did you patch this onto a clean english fire red ROM? I've never heard of anything like this happening to anyone else, so I'd imagine it has something to do with it not patching correctly onto your ROM. If all else fails, you might try downloading a FR ROM from a different site or something.

Whoa! Cool Update.

I just wanna inform that, if you click on "1M Sub-circuit is not installed" Link on the first page it only shows "you may sign-in to view this page" for me,

If you want, you can Copy my blog about 1M Sub-circuit (See the link in Signature below) it works 101% if you read correctly.
Don't worry its Totally free.

(On-Topic)

The Hack looks and is awesome, gonna play it right away!

Just wanna ask, are their any tough situations like mazes or puzzles? because don't wanna stuck along :P

Noossab Blue April 20th, 2014 6:23 AM

Thanks for the tip! They must have changed permissions since I posted it.

In the newest version (1.4.1) I've pretty much worked out all of the order-of-event issues, just make sure to be talking to people. As for actual puzzles, the only bad one is Rock Tunnel just after the second gym. I rearranged it so people who have it memorized couldn't go through it in the dark because the darkness is the only thing keeping you from skipping the second gym entirely. Otherwise most everything is the same, just out of order.

Ghost Down April 20th, 2014 12:13 PM

No offence, but your Fakemon need some work.

Noossab Blue April 20th, 2014 4:17 PM

Are you referring to their design or balance in-game?

If it's an art thing, I've heard similar complaints before but there's nothing I can really do about it as I'm not an artist. My spriter made them and that's just what they are until someone does them better.

If it's a balance thing, I'd be happy to hear your complaints/suggestions :). I can actually fix that haha.

samur1234 July 14th, 2014 4:05 AM

I can't get the after game rocket fight involving dew to work i can't talk to the rockets

Dang I'm trying to install it for my android but everytime I go into my app and click it, it says unsupported file type.. can you maybe make another link? (I use the application MyBoy, just so you know)

Danybroken245 December 12th, 2014 2:10 PM

I really like this hack and the fakemons are awesome xD but I have a question ,
Can I Find a Lucky egg?
Where is? or is equped on Wild Chanseys?

Kivat December 12th, 2014 2:48 PM

say, where is the National Dex? Is it post-E4 like in vanilla?

The thing you downloaded is an .ips patch. To play it, you will have to patch it onto a clean Fire Red rom.
As putting up a rom, as I'm aware, is against the rules here, nobody can put up a patched rom.
You just need to download the patch and a Fire Red rom from the internet and use an .ips patcher app (or lunar ips on your computer) to patch it. From there, you can play.

Johnny Eagle November 15th, 2016 6:41 AM

Couple of questions (not that I'm expecting answers anytime soon):

1. Where do I find Anorith?

2. Where's the person that wanted to trade their Beldum for one?

Apologies in advance if I'm breaking any forum rules by posting this
