I think Twilight mixed up the water gym in gen 1 with gen 2 xD

A early water gym would be good, however I'll like it if Water would take a break for the next two gens (not counting possible remakes to 3 and 4). Another ground gym however would be awesome, I love that time.

Zayphora March 30th, 2013 3:12 PM

No rock gyms unless they're creative, I really hate the same old miner theme. Maybe a Fire gym? We haven't seen a real one since HGSS. And dark type yes yes. I would love it.

I also want a gym, probs Electric or Steel, to have a steampunk theme. JUST SO MUCH WIN TO BE HAD THERE GF.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire March 30th, 2013 7:25 PM

Well actually the Rock gyms have had slightly different themes, Gen 1st being fossils, Gen III's being a school (well the gym leader's a teacher, the gym isn't really school like) in a hometown of the champion (Rs) who likes stones, Gen IV's being a miner.

I'll like a Fire Gym too, however hopefully it won't be close to a volcano like the other two fire gyms as it'll seem less original.

Ho-Oh April 3rd, 2013 12:27 AM

I wouldn't mind another volcano-based fire gym. Unless I guess it was a mix of two gyms, fire/water, and found in a forest, with trees on fire around you?? Damn that'd be an awesome gym ahaha.

I feel like the problem with Rock gyms is that they have always been first, where most of the time your starter can just clean house. It would be cool to have a later Rock Gym where there's actually dual types available other than Rock/Ground so it would be able to actually do something to a wider variety of types and actually have some resistances.

shubham2207 April 25th, 2013 9:10 PM

Well u said...

Take an example of gen 1

brock's geodude vs player's bulbasaur

obviously bulbasaur will win cuz b4 15 lvl, it learns vinewhip.

Now, 8th gym of rock

brock's golem vs players venusaur

who is gotta win, venusaur, cuz at lvl 45, it learns razor leaf and it will ohko it.

Don't think that if golem is gonna get powerful, so is go
nna venusaur.

Basically, what i m trying to tell is whatever position the ground/rock is in, it is weak.

Ho-Oh April 26th, 2013 12:09 AM

That actually gives me an idea... why not combine rock/ground into just one gym at a later point? :3

shubham2207 April 26th, 2013 12:37 AM

Actually, i got a better idea..
How about gyms be dual types?

Jake♫ April 26th, 2013 7:38 AM

That's the point I was trying to make with Rock having dual-types. It doesn't have to be a dual-typed gym (although I do agree that's a cool idea in and of itself), but there are Pokémon who have dual-typing that giving it some resistances to the starters (Rock/Steel and Rock/Flying for Grass, Rock/Water for Water).

MarinoKadame April 26th, 2013 1:28 PM

We only got 2 Steel gyms so far one being in Gen 2 and the other in Gen 4.

But you see, at that point in the game Brock would have been able to have something better than Golem, like an Aggron or something.

shubham2207 April 27th, 2013 6:56 AM

@yamiidenryuu - dude i am talking about generation 1.. r/b/y. So where aggron will come frm?

Jake♫ April 27th, 2013 10:50 AM

He's making the point that if the Rock gym were later in the games (and specifically the new ones where these Pokémon exist), than there would be Rock dual-types that would be able to handle the starter's types more effectively. Of course, at that point you'll have a bigger team as well to handle it, but that can be said for any type of Gym that is later in the games.

I'm a she, man.

But yeah that's what I'm saying.

Yeah with this being sixth possibly it might appear again. If so I think they'd probably be later on in the game because steel doesn't seem like an easy kind of thing to take down early.

shubham2207 April 29th, 2013 8:22 AM

Most probably it will be no 6 gym once again.

Gen 2
jasmine - 6th gym
Gen 4
byron - 6th gym

MarinoKadame April 29th, 2013 10:52 PM

Steel would need to be earlier or be the last I think.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 10th, 2013 9:59 PM

I want that third steel gym, hopefully this generation will introduce some more good steel types and bring back some old ones to make it difficult. I imagine it'll be 6th again just like how Ice has been 7th three times in a row...
How about a flying gym? wait flying's been sixth too besides in gen II...speaking of first gyms I'm hoping that the first gym is dragon, imagine how hard that'll be to defeat xD.

metalhand May 10th, 2013 11:40 PM

i would like to see a gym thats not based on single type, like green/blue's gym

Zorogami May 11th, 2013 2:19 AM

I would love a Gym like that as well, maybe as the 8th Gym?
Would be more of a challenge than just fighting one type.

Guy May 14th, 2013 4:55 AM

Ice-type Gym anyone?

http://i39.*.com/2w7r4o7.jpg

Jake♫ May 14th, 2013 5:52 AM

Definitely possible! Although the image is definitely small, that looks like a crystalline structure similar to ice, so it could definitely hint at it. Plus, it's in the snowy part of Karos, so that would also make sense for us having another Ice gym akin to Snowpoint City in Sinnoh!

metalhand May 14th, 2013 7:36 AM

in the new trailer in miare city(forgot the english name...) there is a a statue of roselia with a gym symbol. so probably there gonna be a grass or poison type gym

It looks like a giant Amethyst...could be Psychic as crystals are used in new age medicine. So either Psychic or Ice if it is a gym.

Jake♫ May 14th, 2013 7:46 AM

If that's the case then we'd probably be given a Grass Gym, perhaps also confirming that the Budew line is also back into the games (which I would personally love). Roselia is more associated with Grass than Poison in my opinion, so makes sense!
