Derby got rid of Chris Martin and Jeff Hendrick and replaced them with Vidyra/Weimann (no scoring form in ages) and Anya (Non league player if he wasn't fast). Big named players like Ince and Hughes only seem to be good on football manage nowadays. Oh and they play Bradley Johnson in the middle (when they even play him at all) despite him being an absolute monster attacking from the left. They literally burn money.

We're top despite only genuinely playing well at Blackburn and Forest. Next up away trips to Newcastle and Wolves.

Xherdan September 25th, 2016 6:17 PM

I'm really happy with my team right now. It's about time we went back to beating Chelsea. Now we have to focus on Basel and the Champions League.

Lunar September 26th, 2016 8:36 AM

I almost forgot that this thread existed but I'm super happy about the 4-1 win over Leicester at the weekend, it was a good win that we definitely needed. Plus Pogba played excellently and there was a few other stand out performances from the likes of Herrera and Mata!

Lipstick Vogue September 26th, 2016 8:43 AM

It's almost as if Herrera and Mata are better than Rooney and Fellaini!

I wouldn't count on that meaning anything though, Leicester were horrific.

Well, Rooney has been really dissapointing this season, he seems slow and behind every play, Fellaini had his best game in a long time when Mourinho played him as a pure defensive midfielder, but he eventually dropped. Mata has always been class, he's one o these players that can do jack sh*t in a game but out of nowhere he can come up with a nice assist or a goal, and he performs better plying centrally than on the right.

Heck yeah! About time! Although Alexis as a striker doesn't convince me yet, I think we should play Lucas against Basel, he performed really well against Nottingham and play Alexis on the left wing with Iwobi in right wing, hopefully we will se the Santi-Xhaka partnership in midfield.

The ride never ends.

Fritz September 27th, 2016 10:48 AM

Sam Allardyce didn't last long as England manager then...

Lipstick Vogue September 27th, 2016 10:54 AM

100% win rate. Will he be knighted?

Eruption September 27th, 2016 12:33 PM

Gareth Southgate... god help us all.

The annoying thing about this one for me is Big Sam will go to Sunderland and save them from the horrors of Moyes now.

Is Pearson involved in the same scandal as Big Sam I wonder, it's a double win for Derby if they get rid of him and don't have to pay him off.

Lipstick Vogue September 28th, 2016 10:34 AM

Exactly my thoughts on Pearson and Derby.

Honestly all of the English options for the job would have been awful.

Toon game in a bit. Klose appears to be injured, terrifying Bassong/Martin partnership resumes. Tettey comes back in with Hoolahan being rested. Well, I don't have a good feeling about this one.

Fritz September 28th, 2016 1:18 PM

Classic Wolves. Win 2-0 against Newcastle and 2 weeks later lose 2-1 to Wigan. Hopefully we bounce back on Saturday.

Banz September 28th, 2016 10:25 PM

Whoa. Newcastle scored 2 goals in injury time to beat Norwich.

Lipstick Vogue September 30th, 2016 10:46 AM

Shhhhhhh, I'm trying to block that one out.

In our last 2 Championship seasons we've only lost back to back games on one occasion (4-0 at Boro and a 93rd minute goal at Forest under Neil Adams), hopefully that continues. If we come away from Wolves with a good performance and 3 points I think we'll probably go on and make that race for the automatic positions a bit boring, along with Newcastle.

Xherdan October 1st, 2016 8:03 AM

Disappointing Bayern draw. But at least Kimmich scored. I'm loving the kid right now.

Burnley's coming up against us. I'd expect a 2-0 win, because we're running just fine. 13 goals in the last 4 games, only 1 goal suffered, i can tell Burnley's not gonna be a difficulty.

Also Wenger's completed 20 years in Arsenal. Hate the guy, love the guy, i have mixed feelings about him.

Eruption October 1st, 2016 8:51 AM

We just cannot create chances, some of the problems in our team have been obvious since the start of last season and we haven't fixed them. I suppose out of context we got a decent point today, but West Ham have been really poor lately and were again today.

I wouldn't write Burnley off so quickly, they have scalped Liverpool already this season. I think it's difficult to hate Wenger, he seems like a nice guy but with some principles on football that obstruct him from success in the modern game. I'm sure the sport will miss him as much as Fergie eventually.

Norwich off to a good start against Wolves...

Fritz October 1st, 2016 10:10 AM

2-1 Norwich right now. Could be a late comeback on the cards here.

Or not...

Lipstick Vogue October 1st, 2016 10:34 AM

Nah, didn't have any nerves there at all. Brady's goal was great and Tettey's playground hack was glorious.

Interesting program cover from Wolves.

Fritz October 2nd, 2016 7:42 AM

The program covers this season are being created by an artist called Alexander Wells. My favourite so far is the one he made for Wolves vs Ipswich:

Lipstick Vogue October 2nd, 2016 7:47 AM

That looks like the plot of a glorious B-movie.

Xherdan October 3rd, 2016 8:22 AM

So, yeah, it was tough but we managed to get past Burnley.

I'm planning to get an Arsenal jersey for Christmas, and i don't know what name i should pick, either Sanchez or Xhaka. I really like both players and they're really the best two i could eye out. I didn't pick Ozil because he's 11 and he wants to switch shirts from 11 to 10. And i thought "Why not Sanchez since he got shirt 7, or why Xhaka, because 29 is not that bad a number, and the player is pretty versatile himself".

Lipstick Vogue October 3rd, 2016 9:09 AM

Noooooooo, get an 88 home kit, proper football shirt. None of that generic skin tight dross you pump out nowadays.

Also, isn't getting player names/numbers is kind of...... weird after the age of 14?

Xherdan October 4th, 2016 1:06 PM

But i am 14, lol.

And getting player names/numbers looks pretty cool on a t-shirt. I have a Bayern shirt and a Marseille shirt, and the back of the shirts look so bland and empty. So i was just thinking about getting a name and a number behind it.

Lipstick Vogue October 4th, 2016 1:25 PM

You post in full sentences so I assumed you were a bit older.

Still think you should get a retro one though. Modern Arse kits are shocking.

Xherdan October 5th, 2016 7:43 AM

What i find strange in the new uniforms is that big line in the middle. What's the point of that?

If i decide to get like an older kit, i think i'll get the O2 kit (i think that's 2004-05).
