Pokemon Centres!
So in these games, you have awesome new Pokemon Centres which have Pokemon Marts in them! How did you like this change? Did it make the games easier? Or didn't it affect you much? Would've you preferred them to be separate? Why? Share yo thoughts.

I loved this change because the walking needed to get from a Pokemon Center to a Poke Mart and back was a bit tedious so combining the two facilities was really convenient. While the item selection isn't as great it's at least still not only a great place to heal up but also stock up on supplies for the journey ahead.
I hope Game Freak keep it like this for X & Y because I think it was really good. |
It was convenient but I really missed seeing the blue buildings of seperate PokeMarts. :(
|
All about convenience man! I definitely loved the change and let's hope it stays that way.
|
I agree with Paparazzo. It is convenient, but I'd rather have them separate. It would have been a little more realistic. And it would be cool to see a tricked out PokeMart to.
|
I miss the Poke Marts a lot. :c
It was neat at first, but I'm over it completely. I'd like to see cute little shops again. ;n; |
I did not miss the marts one bit, I thought it was better to have them under one roof. If they brought back the mart building I guess it would be okay.
|
In previous generations I always saved all my Pokedollars until I got to the BIG pokeMart and they still have one west of Opelucid I believe( I'm not good with names ) so they really catered to me this time around :P howeever in my opinion I think they should have the smaller pokemarts in the smaller less-populated towns and have them both under the same roof in the bigger cities ^ _ ^ 80% of my purchases are super repels :P

Plus, for the longest time I kept forgetting that the mart was in the pokemon center and I kept running around looking for the mart .-. @[email protected] |
I loved that they combined the Pokemon Centers and Marts, as I always felt that having two buildings made a city/town seem artificially larger. Plus, the Marts (other than the supersized ones) had little purpose past the shopkeepers themselves, so merging them with the only other recurring building in each place made sense.
|
Didn't make a difference for me really, so either way it's cool.
|
I really liked it because you didn't have to go outside and across the street to get your potions. But it still didm't impact my play time or enjoyment at all.
|
I thought it made things a lot more convenient overall. However, I think it would have been nice if some towns had specific stores that were separate from the PC. Like maybe a store that specializes in elemental stones, another for hold items, sort of like the medicine shops that did their own thing separately. But overall, I think it was a pretty cool addition :P
|
So much easier in my opinion..it's only about 5 steps now, to get to the mart from the Pokemon Centre counter. A welcome addition.
|
I think it did make the game easier. When I was little I always thought, "wherever there's a Pokemart, a Pokemon center is nearby!"
I kind of miss them being separate, actually. |

The combination was far more convenient. The only thing I wish they would have incorporated in this installation that they did in Gen 4 was the rotating, neon-lit sign that the PokéMarts had. I thought it brought a more modern taste to the Pokémon World in HG/SS. Even still, I enjoyed the merging of the two establishments. |
It's convenient, that's for sure =D
Instead of finding marts in the city, you go to PC where you would go anyways and find the mart there =D I liked this change. Well... I was for every change BW/B2W2 brought... :D |
I love it this way, and the thing I like more is that the mart desks are right at the entrance/exit to prevent me from leaving without buying stuff I need. Needless to say, I still pass right by them sometimes though :D
|
I think it's so convenient that I don't have to leave Pokemon Center if I want to buy something. Besides, it's really more like Pokemon Center in this way.
|
It's quite handy actually. That's what I expected before the announcement of BW.
|
This is one of my favorite of the new features introduced. It's much more convenient to have both the Pokemon Center and Poke Mart combined cause now I don't rush around the city looking for the Poke Mart anymore. I really don't miss them being separate either cause it makes sense for them to be combined. It's called a Pokemon Center so why wouldn't it have a market in it that sells medicines and other Pokemon related supplies? That just makes more sense to me. I do hope this returns in X and Y.
|
I have to say, among the building changes in this game, this is my favorite. You need to heal your Pokemon and buy some Full Restores while you're at it? Great! Don't move to another building in between. In older games, Pokemarts where sometimes inconvenient to try getting to. (Sootopolis, anyone?) This just made that fixed up and you don't have to move around after you fly to a city, just walk in! It's pretty nice.
|
I liked how the Pokémon Centers and the Poké Marts were merged so that I'd save time and steps walking from the Center counter to the Mart counter.
|
So is this why the department store is on a route?

I loved the merge, it makes it much easier to have both (health and shop) in one building. I found annoying in previous generations when I reached a new city, I had to go on a hunting search to find out where the Pokemart and the PokeCenter were.
|
I'm 50/50 on it, I loved seeing the Mart buildings, but, it makes life so much easier having both in the same place!
|
This change was positive, but I don't want to see this implemented on the next versions.
This feature must be seen as an exclusive feature of Unova. They don't need to put in the other versions |
I like it, but I do miss the old blue roof in every town haha
|
I'm going to be honest, at first i didn't like it at all.
After many years of tradition, having the PokeCenter and the Mart merge felt pretty unusual. After getting used to it though, i have to admit it's a lot easier and more useful than having two separate buildings. So in the end, i think this was a pretty nice change. |
Blah no I still don't like it. It's convenient, sure, but I prefer having individual buildings. The Pokémon Centres look too big and less cozy and I miss having the little cornerstore vibe from the Marts. It all became very uniform in Unova and yeah. I'm hoping that was just because of the urban themes and not something that will become a trend.

Loved it <3
It is more convenient to access both the Pokemon Center and the PokeMart now, as opposed to having two seperate buildings. I also liked how they provided instant access to the second floor in G5 PokeCenters!(In Gen 4, you need to ride the escalator up, which takes up a bit of time, especially if you wanted to change your signature on the back of your trainer card. Also in Gen 5, players could edit their signature anywhere they wanted.) To sum it up with one word: Convenience Although I still kind of missed the old blue buildings :(... |
I do like the blue roofs but I'll admit it is convenient coming into a new town for the first time and just being able to find both the PC and the Mart under the one roof. I wouldn't mind it going forward cause it's an awesome idea overall :)
PS: I still laugh about this: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BH3wPRSCMAAUyg0.jpg |
It was a huge convenience to have the PokéMart in the same building as the Pokémon Center, and it's something that 'realistically' makes sense, too. It's just logical.
However, with that said, I wouldn't mind too much if they re-separated the buildings; it'd be nice to see little blue-roofed buildings in towns and cities again, and it's never a MAJOR inconvenience to have to go to a different building to buy items/heal Pokémon. |
I prefer having my PokeMarts in with my Pokemon Centers. It give the convenience of being able to do one stop for everything, while explaining how the Centers come into money, what with their free healing.
