HI I JOIN NOW. :3
Username: Meganium90 Partner Pokemon: Samurott Why I like water types: They are a must-have when you're out on a journey! Because of surf, waterfall, those are very essential! Without water, your journey is horrible! Favorite water types: Vaporeon, Lanturn, Piplup, Keldeo Where would you hang out, as a water trainer? On the beach of course! It's the perfect place to soak up the sun and have a great time at the water! |

Must join because I am a big Water-type fan!
Username: Hikari10 Partner Pokemon: Oshawott Why you like Water Types: They are always good to have on a team and there's always that one point in the game where Surf is needed so it's always recommended to have a Water-type somewhere not to mention they tend to have balanced stats too. Favorite Water Type(s): I love all the Water-type starter lines, as well as Vaporeon, Starmie and the newest Water starter, Froakie! But my absolute fave is and always will be the Oshawott line. Where would you hang out, as a water trainer? I'd probably hang out at the beach, all that beautiful water makes them so majestic! |
Username: Regeneration
Partner Pokemon: Mudkip! Why you like Water Types: I hate fire types. Sorry fire type club. Favorite Water Type(s): Mudkipz. U no u liek 'em. Spoiler:
Current question: Where would you hang out, as a water trainer (i.e. like the topic, fishing or surfing?!)? Surfing is annoying with those damned tentacool. Fishing for feebas is the game. |
Aha! A Water-type Fan Club! :D
Username: Student D1 (but just call me Student) Partner Pokemon: Dewott (Hey, we have the complete Oshawott line now! :P) Why you like Water Types: 'Cause they're blue! Well, their stats are well-balanced; they are needed in our journeys (as said) because of Surf & Waterfall, and their (Water-type) moves are really cool. Favorite Water Type(s): Squirtle, Vaporeon, Gyarados, Wooper, Mudkip, Ludicolo, Piplup, Empoleon, Oshawott, Dewott, Samurott, Keldeo. Where would you hang out, as a water trainer? Probably the river or lake. I'd do some fishing and some quick swimming. The beach is also a place where I'd like to hang out; I would try to get some splashes from the waves (if any). I just love to get wet, even with my clothes on. :P |
Welcome to our three new members! And that image is HILARIOUS Regeneration. Can't stop laughing.
Now that we're getting bigger, I'll start brainstorming some ideas. How does everyone feel about coming up with a way for an extra partner pokemon?! :O |
Hmm, an extra partner Pokemon would be alright. You'd have another Pokemon to give another HM to, so you'd have one Pokemon who knows surf, and another who knows waterfall. :D

Heeey, Magnetic! Awesome to see you made a water club, I'm surprised I didn't notice it sooner. :O
Username: Cirno Partner Pokemon: Wartortle Why you like Water Types: They are so very elegant. Not only that, but they tend to be pretty bulky and can learn some of my favorite moves. Who can say no to Surf and Ice Beam? Favorite Water Type(s): I'm afraid I'll have to direct you to the entire list of water types to properly answer this, ahah. ;P But I do especially love Squirtle, Wartortle, Lanturn, Lapras, Vaporeon, Keldeo, Milotic, Azumarill, Suicune... the list is endless! Where would you hang out, as a water trainer? Along the coast of Lilycove! So much fishing to be done and water to explore. Plus, diving! Yeahhh! :D |
Username: LittleCubone
Partner Pokemon: Sharpedo Why you like Water Types: Water types are so diverse. I feel having a water type on the team is necessary. Sometimes two. Favorite Water Type(s): Vaporeon, Gyarados, Blastoise, Feraligatr, Whishash Topic: I'd be on a boat. Not sure if I feel safe swimming in the water with a Pokemon that wants to eat me. |
Username: Cassiopeiia
Partner Pokemon: Pokoteng the Quagsire! Why I like Water types: Although I'm not much of a swimmer I still love water; it's so fresh and clean! Blue is an amazing colour. Also, most Water type Pokémon have great designs, I like almost all of them. Favourite Water types: Squirtle, Blastoise, Slowpoke, Slowking, Vaporeon, Lapras, Quagsire, Suicune, Ludicolo & Piplup. If I was a Water type trainer, I would still try staying clear of water as much as possible, I don't much enjoy getting wet. It does sound lovely though, relaxing on the back of my Lapras out at sea, still safe and dry. From there my Pokémon could play in the water and I could watch over them. :3 |
Welcome to our new members Cirno, Little Cubone and Cassiopeiia!
New question: All of us in the Gone Fishin' [Or Surfin'] Club are having a party! How does your Partner Pokemon contribute to the party?! Kingler repeatedly uses ViceGrip to open up nuts and other snacks that people want. xD |

Where's the party going to be taking place? A yacht? A gym?
|
Yay . . :D
A water pokemon paradise . . <3 Username: soulavenger Partner Pokemon: Feraligatr Why you like Water Types: They have pretty balanced states and can turn out to be one of the most powerful allies in battles.Plus, blue is my favorite color and they have a versatile move set. Favorite Water Type(s): Almost all of them I guess . . :P Feraligatr,Totodile,Suicune,Golduck,Corphish,Huntail,Samurott,Mudkip,Shellder and the list goes on and on . . :D Where would you hang out, as a water trainer? I think I would travel all around the various regions but would mostly be found near any river or stream around Cerulean City or Pastoria City. Well,Feraligatr could use jets of water and provide us with water slides . . :P He can also be used as a transportation medium to go from one island to another. |
Hooray, a Water Pokemon club! Now let's sign up for this. ^^
Username: tealwing Partner Pokemon (must be Water, name optional): Belle the Milotic Why you like Water Types: Most Water-type Pokemon have a majestic aura about them which I really like. Besides, who can deny the usefulness of Water types in-game? Many HM moves are of the water type so having at least one such Pokemon in your team would allow you to progress through the game a lot more smoothly. Favorite Water Type(s): Vaporeon, Totodile, Mudkip, Milotic, Buizel, Dewott, and many others Surf's up! Milotic would play with the people in the pool and make sure everyone's having fun. :) |
Welcome to our two new members! And look at the new page. A HUGE thanks to Olli97 for some incredible work!

Username/Nickname: Olli97
Partner Pokémon: Dewgong Reason for joining the club: Despite having a hard time in choosing what my partner Pokemon should be, I've always really like Water type Pokemon. I feel like they're usually the Pokemon with the prettiest designs of the generations, as there seems to be a lot of emphasis on beauty and elegance in the designs of a lot of them (half of them also seem to be designed to look scary and ugly :p), as well as they're often really strong. I can't seem to recall any playthroughs other than a single one, in which I haven't useda Water type Pokemon, and though one of the bigger reasons for that is, that I need someone to carry me across the seas of the regions, I also can't really imagine not having one on my team. Top 3 favourite Water type Pokémon: Hard to choose here. I don't really have any particular favourites, and I just generally seem to like them all. If I had to say a few, I guess it'd be: Dewgong, Suicune, Lapras and Wartortle :) Where would you hang out, as a water trainer? Hmm, I guess I'd be hanging out around the shores and beaches around the region, either catching new Pokemon, or battling anyone in sight. I wouldn't really surf around in the sea, as while I love Pokemon, I'm not all too fond of being in the water actually, so I'd stay where I could experience the beauty of the sea, rather than the horrors it might bring if anything were to happen out there :p All of us in the Gone Fishin' [Or Surfin'] Club are having a party! How does your Partner Pokemon contribute to the party?! Hmm, I'm not quite sure. I guess the best of what Dewgong could bring would be an ice slide for all of the other Pokemon and trainers to enjoy, however the temperature might not allow that. But if it's as much of an introvert as I am, it'd probably rather stay in its pokeball :p |
Quote:
Where do you hang out as a water type trainer I'd probably spend most of my time floating around with my buizel in the ocean and go diving occasionally to catch Pokémon and/or fill my Pokédex. |
New question!
Misty challenges you and your partner Pokemon to an all-out Water battle. How do you gain the advantage and take down her Starmie? |
Username: Avishka
Partner Pokemon (must be Water, name optional): Vaporeon Why you like Water Types: They're so pretty, majestic, and so much fun to play with. they have one of the best designs and have incredible diversity. Favorite Water Type(s): Vaporeon, Mudkip,Suicune, Lapras , and many others Where do you hang out as a water type trainer?? i would be at a beach or a waterfall swimming pool either lazing around with my Pokemons or catching a Pokemon .. |
I'm in.
Username: The Reluctant Warrior Partner Pokemon (must be Water, name optional): Milotic Why you like water types: They're so majestic and graceful, they're very well designed and diverse. Favorite Water Type(s): Milotic, Swampert, Labras, Suicune, Dewgong and Mudkip. Where do you hang out as a water-type trainer?: The beach, or an island. All of us in the 'Gone Fishin'[Or Surfin'] Club are having a party! How does your partner Pokemon contribute to the party?: Probably form makeshift waterfalls or participate in diving and surfing contests, it depends, really. Misty challenges you and your partner pokemon to an all-out water battle. How do you get an advantage and take down her Starmie: I would have Milotic or Swampert at a fairly high level and use Surf, Dive and Tackle to get an edge. Or I can have Milotic use Attract and follow it up with Muddy Water or Take Down. |
Username/Nickname: TwilightBlade/Blade
Partner Pokémon: Azumarill Reason for joining the club: Water types are adorable and I love using them on my team, even when I started with the water Starter! Yup yup, I had Blastoise&Vaporeon in Blue and Croconaw&Suicune on Crystal. In my recent White 2 run, I'm using Samurott and Keldeo. Top 3 favourite Water type Pokémon: Vaporeon, Croconaw, Azumarill Where do you hang out as a water type trainer? I would be at the beach! I love being in the water (but not underwater ;-;) and I love the feeling of having the sand between my toes. All of us in the Gone Fishin' [Or Surfin'] Club are having a party! How does your Partner Pokemon contribute to the party?! My partner would make bubbles, I dunno? She would do whatever she could to get Olli to come out and play. :P Misty challenges you and your partner Pokemon to an all-out Water battle. How do you gain the advantage and take down her Starmie? I'd use Lanturn, another one of my favorite water types. Zap that Starmie away! Or I can use my Lapras, which also uses Thunderbolt sometimes. |
Username/Nickname: Tournoiement
Partner Pokémon: Piplup! Reason for joining the club: I love Water and Water Types ever since I played Leafgreen, My first game ever played. Top 3 favourite Water type Pokémon: Piplup, Azumarill and Oshawott! Where do you hang out as a water type trainer? Of course, to the beach!, or a peaceful, little lake just with a mini-waterfall for me, my fellow Club Members and Water Type Pokemon! All of us in the Gone Fishin' [Or Surfin'] Club are having a party! How does your Partner Pokemon contribute to the party?! I would bring rocks, stack them up like a mountain, and make a mini-waterfall with bubbles! Misty challenges you and your partner Pokemon to an all-out Water battle. How do you gain the advantage and take down her Starmie? Tackle and Piplup's Bubblebeam! After Training my water Pokemon! |

Partner Pokemon: Empoleon Reason For Joining The Club: I love water types since Pearl when I got a Piplup. Three Favs:Empoleon, Feraligatr, Swampert Misty challenges you and your partner Pokemon to an all-out Water battle. How do you gain the advantage and take down her Starmie:By using my Empoleon's Bubblebeam, Like I actually did in pearl. Sorry if my description sounds a lot like Tournoiements description, but her reasons are a lot like mine. |
Adding y'all to the member list, as I haven't seen Magnetic on in quite a while. Anyways, welcome to the club everyone! Hope you'll enjoy your time and stay active.
And speaking of activity, in hopes of getting a few posts, here's a new topic :p Why did you choose your partner Pokemon, and was it hard to decide which one to go with? |
Username: CloysterOyster
Partner Pokémon: Cloyster Why I like Water-types: Their free nature and the peacefulness of the water makes me wish I could become one with them Favorite Water-types: Cloyster, Dewgong, Vaporeon, Gyarados, Slowking, Kingdra, Suicune, Milotic, Samurott, Tirtouga |
Why did you choose your partner Pokemon, and was it hard to decide which one to go with?
Damn, I forgot which partner I chose. sigh *checks* Oh wait, yes, mudkip; how could I forget. I guess it was because of all the mudkip memes. But Mudkipz are cute. U no U liek 'em! |
To be honest, how could anyone NOT like a Mudkip?
|
Gurll, I liked Mudkip waaay before it became cool B) /puts on hipster glasses.
But seriously, Mudkip is actually my favourite Hoenn starter. Well, my favourite has kinda been fluctuating between Treecko and Mudkip for the past couple of years, as I really like both of them, both design-wise and when it comes to battles, but I guess Mudkip has kinda been climbing on top. Compared to Treecko, it is way superior in battle (as long as it isn't battling Treecko of course), judging both from its stats and its typing as a Swampert. Sure, it has a 4x weakness to Grass, but it's also immune to Electric type attacks, which is often the worst enemy of Water type Pokemon, and it was really a reliable partner throughout the entire journey through Hoenn. Mudkip was probably the best choice when it came to taking on the gym leaders with, considering it's super effective against 3 of the gym types, as well as having no weaknesses at all in any of the gyms (I'm pretty sure Ice isn't super effective against it), and I guess I'd consider it the Bulbasaur of the third generation. So yeah, if u herd i liek mudkipz, u herd rite. |
Why did you choose your partner Pokemon, and was it hard to decide which one to go with?
Very difficult! I like so many Water type Pokemon. I used Azumarill in HeartGold, so wonderful to use, but I used my other top favorite Water types in other adventures. How do I decide which Pokemon meant a little more to me...? they all brought different experiences to my adventure. :( I sorta just flipped a coin. Let fate decide. :P I... don't quite like Mudkip. It's cute, but it was my least favorite Hoenn starter. It's probably one of my least favorite Water starters, too. It's a cool Pokemon, but I like other Water types a lot more. |

It was very difficult .. It was tied between Mudkip and vaporean.. but vaporean won because it's an eeveelution and bcuz of its design http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_me7oemqwNQ1qkqxw0o2_250.png MUDKIP FTW <3333 |
WROOOAR PEEKO
(sorry couldn't stop myself :[) Username/Nickname: Narnia/Sophie Partner Pokemon: Wingull Reason for joining the club: I have to say, without water-types I'd probably be struggling through the game quite a bit. They come in all shapes and sizes, some are cute while others are powerful and possess all sorts of attacks up their arsenal. Most of them are quite bulky but also have that good attacking power, which I like. They're generally well-balanced, (from what I've seen) and they're such a fun type to use! You can surf on them, you can climb up waterfalls, is there anything you can't do? YOU CAN EVEN FLY IF YOU'RE USING A PELIPPER- they're just that badass. They ensure survival and fair quite well against almost everything, Top 3 favourite Water type Pokémon: Wingull, Lanturn, Relicanth Why did you choose your partner Pokemon, and was it hard to decide which one to go with? It was quite difficult. I have a huge range of favourites in water-types, I guess Wingull comes out on top because it was the most memorable one for me- every time I see it, I just imagine old Mr Briney going, "WROOOAR PEEKO!" and I just smile at it, since that was one of my favourite quotes in the entire series. It's just amusing to me. I also really like Wingull based off its design. It's simple and not overdone, also seagulls are really cool! They manage to scoop up your chips without trouble and even though they're a nuisance I still find them pretty cute. Wingull is based off of a seagull from memory, so I guess that's where a bit more love came from. And finally I've used a Wingull in Emerald- it was the funnest thing to train. <3 |
Username: Whyvile
Partner Pokemon: Squirtle Reasons I like Water Types: In my opinion, they might be one of the most useful types out there. Not only do they have three actually pretty good HM moves, they can also wreck serious havoc with hardhitters like Gyrados or Starmie, or wall the opponent to death with Milotic or Lanturn. Three Favorite Water Types: Lanturn, Blastoise and Empoleon. Where do you hang out as a water type trainer?: The Desert. Because everyone uses ground types there, and it's amusing to just utterly oneshot each and everyone of them. All of us are at a party! How does your partner Pokemon contribute?: Squirtle ain't contribute to anything, he's too chilled. Misty challenges you and your partner Pokemon to an all-out Water battle. How do you gain the advantage and take down her Starmie?: Send out Lanturn, use Thunder, ???, Profit. Why did you choose your partner pokemon?: Well, I always had a soft spot for Squirtle! He was cute, and I liked cute. He was useful in Pokemon Fire/Red, and I like useful. And he had some of the best evolutions ever. Wartortle? Amazing name. Blastoise? You have no chance of surviving make your time |
Username/Nickname: AlexOzzyCake/Ozzy!
Partner Pokémon: Piplup Reason for joining the club: Water types are a lot of fun, basically! They're a type that you would always want to be surrounded by, you'll never be bored around them and you'll always be able to rely on them for protection and to battle. They could save you from the dangers of the ocean, cool you off when you're hot, and even give you a nice drink when you need it! Top 3 favourite Water type Pokémon: Starmie, Horsea and Piplup (CUUUUTE) Why'd I choose my partner? Pretty much just because he's so adorable! I love Starmie for the unusual abilities/power, I love Horsea for the huge potential yet dashing cuteness, and I adore Piplup for his utterly adorable nature and personality! Ever since the anime I've loved Piplup (Dawn's one was just far too adorable) so I'd definitely love to train one myself. It's a bit of a shame that he becomes something so brutish and ugly (not that I dislike Empoleon, it's just a sad change for such a cute Pokémon to go through!), but there's no reason he has to evolve haha. He's such a cutie the way he is and I'd adore him as a partner. :D |
Welcome to the club you three!
Now gonna answer Blade's topic: Why did you choose your partner Pokemon, and was it hard to decide which one to go with? Easy, the reason I picked Oshawott is because he is my literal Poke-Mascot. I fell in love with the guy upon seeing his cute face in the anime, and I picked him as my starter in both Black and Black 2 so yeah you gotta say I love him so much. And his evolved forms are badass too, Samurott being the total badass while Dewott is the mixture of badass and cute. And Water is my fave type so that's why I adore him even more! I am not the Oshawott Girl for nothing! |
Count me in :D
Username: Ronfiret Partner Pokemon: Totodile Why you like Water Types: Water types are the wider selection of Pokemon. They got cool moves, and my very first starter was a water type. Favorite Water Type(s): Blastoise, Poliwhirl, Politoed, Staryu, Gyaradous, Feraligatr, Marill, Prinlup, Buizel, |
I wanna sign up :P
Username: SupernovaTyphlosion Partner: Floatzel (Named Torrent) Reasons why I like water types: Sea creatures have always fascinated me :)They're beautiful, majestic and amazing :) Favourite water types: Lapras, Milotic, Blastoise, Feraligatr, Swampert, Crawdaunt, Floatzel, Mantine, Kyogre...I like them all :D Topic: Well I would use my trusty Floatzel to take down Mistys Starmie. I would start off with a crunch attack, throw in a few aqua jets and then finish off with Razor wind :P |
Hi I'd like to join need more clubs!
Username/Nickname:AWsquared (though as a nickname you can call me Aaron or Kouzan) Partner Pokémon: Poliwhirl (nickname Reason for joining the club:I've always found Water types to be interesting. There's so many of them with lost of variety in the types of species. A lot of them are strong and they're useful for surfing too! Favourite Water type Pokémon: Poliwhirl, Buizel, Kyogre , Carracotsa , Marill, Wailord Lumineon , Lapras Current topic: Misty challenges you and your partner Pokemon to an all-out Water battle. How do you gain the advantage and take down her Starmie? That's a tough one cause Starmie is faster than Poliwhirl so it will likely be knocked out before it could attack and it can resist all of it's Fighting type moves. However , Poliwhirl can be taught Fling, which is a Dark type move, which as most people know is super-effective against Psychic types. So I can teach him Fling and make sure it's holding an item that does a lot of damage , such a Hard Stone, Fossil, or Iron Ball which do between 90-130 damage. So with that strategy I might be able to defeat it or damage it enough to be able to weaken her Stamie easier. |
Username: SomaQL
Partner: Lapras (nicknamed Lady, always) Why I like Water Types: One of the strongest typings, both offensively and defensively, and, besides that, their moves seems to be the most elegant and powerful. Favorite Water-Types: Relicanth, CrawDaunt, Seadra, OmaStar, SimiPour. Where I would hang out? Petalburg's Lakes. Seem like a nice place for Lady and I to relax. |
To beat Misty's Starmie, hmm... I think I'd have to use my Crawdaunt for that! He could easily soak up Starmie's powerful Psychic attacks whilst hitting back hard with his Dark STAB moves. Starmie wouldn't stand a chance against his speed and strength and although her Thunderbolt would be something to worry about, I'm pretty sure Crawdaunt has enough bulk to take it.
What do you guys think the rest of her team would be though? :o |
Username/Nickname:Pokeuser7878/Matt
Partner Pokémon:Lanturn Reason for joining the club:Because Lanturn is my favourite pokemon like EVER and Lanturn is just an overall walled beast with Stockpile/Parafusion Set so i decided to show its affection by joining the Water Club Top 3 favourite Water type Pokémon: 1) Lanturn 2) Kingdra 3) Gyarados |
Misty challenges you and your partner Pokemon to an all-out Water battle. How do you gain the advantage and take down her Starmie?
I'd have my Oshawott use its X-Scissor to take down Starmie cos surprise it's Bug-type attack super-effective on Starmie's secondary Psychic-type! It's a win-win! |
Hey guys, quick note! This club's owner has been away from PC for around two months now so if anyone wants to take over as the new owner or wants to remake the club themselves, send me a message and let me know. :)

Hello guys, Zylas here. I'm here to inform yallz that I'll be taking over the Water-type Pokemon club as new leader! In sight of this, I'm still undecided as to whether or not I will be creating a new thread for the club or using the current one, so the thread will be closed until further notice. Take note, this shouldn't take long and if anything no longer than a few days. Thanks for your cooperation!

Thread ownership has been transferred to Zylas - enjoy!

NOTIFICATION:
Due to the disappearance of Magnetic, as I said before I have become the new Cap'n of the Water Type Fan Club! As you might see, a couple of changes have been made, but nothing too major yet. Ideas are in the process of being formulated that have not yet come to surface (you see what I did there? Water? Shore? Surface? ...ah never mind). Anyways, I also realize some of the members have not been added to the members list, and I will get to doing that shortly. But for now, New Topic! If you could Surf, Dive, or Waterfall on any Pokemon, who would it be and why? |
Seems like this club is headed in a good direction so I'd like to sign up!
Username/Nickname: AlexOzzyCake/Ozzy Partner Pokémon: Despole the (male) Poliwrath Reason for Joining the Club: Water types aren't my biggest love as they strike me as quite common and similar Pokémon, but they are an interesting type to discuss and I'd love to hear why people love them so much. I do like Water as a type on the whole (mostly due to the cute Pokémon!), but it's not a favourite just yet haha. Top 3 Favorite Water Type Pokémon: Poliwrath, Horsea and Piplup! As for the topic... I think I'd Dive with a Relicanth because it'd be awesome to see him in his natural habitat and because he'd be comfy/safe to cling on to with the way his back is supported, I'd Waterfall with a Gyarados because how freaking epic is that?, and I'd Surf with a Lapras for comfort and for ease since that's practically what she's designed for! What about you guys? Would you agree that Lapras is basically just made for Surfing? XD |
Quote:
Answer to the current topic: To Dive, I would ride a Wailord, cuz it would be awesome to scare away all the lil' Magikarps as a giant whale passes by >:) . As for Surfing, I would ride a Sharpedo for the purpose of shooting across the sea from place to place with ease. To ride a Waterfall, Keldeo would be pretty cool because it would be like riding a unicorn across a rainbow except a unicorn on a waterfall {XD} |
I remember I used to hang out in an earlier Water club, I'm glad it got remade, though I didn't rejoin. Until now, that is :)
Username/Nickname: Miau Partner Pokémon: Pua the Jellicent(F) http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/3/3b/Ani593FMS.png Reason for Joining the Club: I've always had at least a couple of Water types on my team in every run so far. I think there's quite some variety going on with them, as the Water type has been paired with every other type out there, except Fire. There's diversity in their designs too, some are cute, others fierce. Hehe, there's a Water type to please even the pickiest trainer! Top 3 Favorite Water Type Pokémon: Frillish/Jellicent line, Tympole/Palpitoad/Seismitoad line and Tirtouga/Carracosta line! (I've chosen from the ones I've used the most, design-wise, it would be Milotic, Keldeo and Empoleon.) Now for the current topic: If you could Surf, Dive, or Waterfall on any Pokemon, who would it be and why? Let's see. I'd surf on Wailord, I think you'd be able to go quite far offshore on the back of a giant whale. I'd dive with Samurott, I would hold on to the pointy shell on its head and let it lead the way. He seems to be a very good swimmer and would prove quite reliable underwater. And I'm going to go with Ozzy on my last choice, going up a waterfall on top of a raging Gyarados would be pret-ty epic. As for Lapras, Ozzy, I'm still going with Wailord, you could travel with friends and have a lot of space. I remember Sapphire riding her Wailord in PokeSpe with Ruby and all their Pokemon. Though Ash, Misty and Tracey used to ride on Lapras's back all the time in the anime too, so I guess it would still work if you don't mind being a little cramped. |

What is my mental image? Blastoise Jetski. Heck yeah. |

Blastoise jet-skiing though? Hell yes. 8D |

To answer the current topic, wouldn't it just be badass to jetski on a Sharpedo? And with that Speed Boost, you'd get faster and faster, whizzing around the oceans at the speed of light. Hell yeah, outclasses any old Blastoise jetski. As for diving, perhaps a Dewgong! It'd be fun clinging onto its back, as it swims gracefully like a mermaid. And finally, just riding up a waterfall on a Mantine, with the Darth Vader theme playing. Badass. :)
|
^ Oh it's you with the cute avatar!
I forgot to answer about the diving part. I don't like being underwater, it's frightening D: It'd have to be in shallow water, so I'd pick... Floatzal or Buizel, that way it can just inflate those little floatie things covering its body and we'd be safe! :D |

Partner Pokemon: Mudkip Why I like water types: You NEED Water-Types. They are always useful through-out the game, and you have to teach your Pokémon Water-Type only HMs such as Surf, Waterfall and Surf. Most baby Water Types are so kawaii, and the big Water-Types are very bulky. Anyone who asks me which starter to choose, I always so go for the Water-Type. :D Top 3 Favorite Water-Types: It has to be Swampert, Dewgong and Squirtle. :3 If you could Surf, Dive, or Waterfall on any Pokemon, who would it be and why? It would be a Wailord. It would be so awesome sitting on that thing! You could sunbathe on Wailord xD Yeah. You could sit there and not fall of. It's awesome going underwater on a giant Wailord :) |

It's been 3 days people! And we all know what that means... (or at least I think some of us do) Neeeew Topic! What would be your favorite sub-type to Water Pokemon and why? The water type has had a second type to all except fire, so if you could would you prefer a Water/Fire Pokemon instead? |

I'll go with Water/Ground types. I like the immunity to Electric attacks that negates Water's weakness, and how Ground's weaknesses (Water and Ice) are balanced out by the Water typing. I'd say it's one of the best dual typings, despite the 4x weakness to Grass :( As for Water/Ground Pokemon, my favorite is Seismitoad. With two powerful STAB attacks like Hydro Pump and Earthquake, or Drain Punch and Venoshock in case its Poison Touch activated, I really loved using her in-game. |

Partner Pokémon: Skippy the Blastoise Reason for Joining the Club: Water Pokemon are awesome. There are so many varieties of them (~1/6th of pokemon are water). They also have an amazing movepool. Favorite Water Type Pokémon: Squirtle Line, Mudkip Line, Lanturn, Tentacruel, Kyogre, Gastrodon, Jellicent |
Gonna go with Water/Ground. Water covers a lot of Grounds weaknesses, and Ground covers up Water. The only problem is the double weakness to Grass, but better than nothing :/
|
I'd like to see Water/Electricity have another chance to shine. Chinchou and Lanturn were very cool Pokémon and I enjoyed using them, but they certainly weren't the definition of strong which is a shame given their unique stab at an interesting typing. They're such conflicting elements which somehow manage to intertwine together so perfectly - the Pokémon would be a walking metaphor of power and elegance if it were to succeed haha. What do you guys think?

I was always a fan of the dual Water/Ground-types like Seismitoad, Swampert, Gastrodon and Quagsire. The typing itself has just a single weakness, a very crippling one to Grass-types. It does negate Water's most threatening weakness, Electric and that's a good thing since most have Grass counters (like Ice Beam and Blizzard) but not all have a good Electric counter. As for how a Water/Fire-type would work? They'd have to think of something encompassing both elements, but I wonder how they'll pull it off. I mean, we've had some unusual "conflicting" type combinations pulled off like Bug/Fire and now Dark/Psychic. |
Maybe a good (but probably not) idea for a Water/Fire Type would be a Pokemon based off of one of those underwater volcanoes, or those tube worms that can thrive in ridiculously hot water. Or, I remember seeing a video depicting the Loch Ness Monster as a water-dwelling serpent that could breathe fire so something like that could work as well.

Partner Pokémon: Kingler. Reason for Joining the Club: Overall, Water types are my favourite type. 9/10 Water Pokemon have so much character. From Slowpoke to Totodile. There all fun Pokemon. I have been looking to join a club for a while, And i think this is the one for me. Top 3 Favorite Water Type Pokémon: 1. Lapras; Such a majestic Pokemon. I actually use one in my party. The fact that they are described as singing songs, using telepathy & Don't enjoy fighting really makes me pay attention to this amazing Pokemon. And for that. Lapras is my favourite water type. If it wasn't already taken. This would of been my partner Pokemon. 2. Kingler; Now, This is why Kingler is a close second in my favourite water type. "Behavior: They wave their huge claw in the air to communicate with others. However, because the claw is so heavy, the Pokémon quickly tires." How amusing is that?! This proves my point on how water Pokemon has such interesting personalities. Not to mention that Kingler has the highest base stat in attack out of ALL water types. This is why Kingler is my partner Pokemon. 3. Goldeen; Now, Goldeen would have to be in my favourites just because of its voice in the cartoon. The whole "Goldeen Goldeen.. Goldeen Goldeen!" Is really cool. & I use alot of Pokemon that use physical moves in game. So Goldeen is a sort of "EV training partner" As i clean out the pond between Ecruteak City & Mahogany Town. :) Current Topic: *What would be your favorite sub-type to Water Pokemon and why? As it cancels out electricity attacks. Correct me if I'm wrong but i think that leaves it open for x4 super effective moves from grass types, So yeah. But still. That is my favourite matchup. As for the water / fire.. It just doesn't make sense. If anything that would leave the game open for a brand new type "Steam." So, Im quite eager to join this club. I will be looking forward to a reply. :) If it would be possible. Could the Club manager like this post when he/she has replied? As it would alert me quicker. Instead of looking for the thread. But if not. All goods. |

Hey, there guys, your friendly neighborhood Surskit here! (See get it, cuz Surksit is a water spider and Spiderman's quote... ah, never mind). Today, I've got a few announcements to make - good and bad. Let's go with the bad first. Unfortunately, I won't be as active as often and will only be available Sat-Sun :( . But, there is good that comes from this! Not only now can any member make their own topic, but we will be a holding a Special event every Saturday relative to the Water-Type on Pokemon Showdown! I'm not positive what this is going to be, bu I should be able to get back to you ASAP tomorrow. Oh, and if you do wish to start a new topic, please refer to the newly issued Rules and the beginning thread first. Now... Jellicent F's and M's... N-N-New Topic! In real life, how much do you actually love the water? Are you a great, or mediocre swimmer, or maybe can't swim at all? Even discuss how much you enjoy water gun fights! |

I actually can't swim. I like splashing around in the water though, Magikarp style {XD} I do like watching the water, if that makes any sense. As in, be near lakes and the seashore, I enjoy that. I can't stand it if the water isn't clean though, but I guess that goes for everyone. As for water gun fights, that reminds me of my school days, there was a water pump in the schoolyard. We didn't even have water guns actually, balloons worked just as well. It was pretty bad when the teachers found us soaking wet, but it was worth it! |

I go swimming every weekend, both Saturday and Sunday! It feels great just swimming without a care in the world and the water just feels amazing on a summer afternoon. I'd say I'm an average swimmer? I kinda suck on the proper positions but at least I can work my way from one end of the lane to the other, using various styles (except breaststroke is unbelievably slow ugh). I can also kinda do somersaults and other fun tricks in the water, so that's always good. All in all I'd say I'm an average swimmer, although most of my life, I couldn't swim at all. :I Ohh water gun fights. Love those things. We never really used guns but at our band camp ages ago, it was rainy that year so we couldn't go swimming. We improvised with water balloons and it was a ton of fun. Especially pelting it at the teachers, (good times, good times). Except kinda got hit in the face by a water balloon. It is still extremely fun though and its like a snowball fight except with water! I've played with water guns before and we all sorta pretend we're like assassins and try and dodge incoming water, while hitting other people. Whoever hits the most amount of the time, wins. Really simple but really fun. :D |

To be honest, I really love the water. I enjoy the pool, But the beach really isn't my thing. I would say i am a mediocre swimmer. But i have quite a good stamina for someone with asthma. Ive swam over 500 metres across a lake. Took me an hour. Swimming on my back so i wouldn't drown. (LOL) But i got there in the end. Water gun fights? Nah, Not these days. Im more into Nerf gun fights. ;) http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2Pl8EsJkHnU/Tv5Qn2clAxI/AAAAAAAAAMY/dR3q6d5Aba4/s320/raider+cs-35.jpg I have a suggestion for new topic? Fishing, I think that is relevant to water. lol Maybe you guys have had some really interesting experiences fishing! Just a thought. BTW. Look what a friend made me for the club~! I love my signature guys. Maybe if your a member you would like to support the club also. Kbai! :D |
Oooh, a new owner! :D Great to see how active it's been ever since the ownership was changed :)
In real life, how much do you actually love the water? Are you a great, or mediocre swimmer, or maybe can't swim at all? Even discuss how much you enjoy water gun fights! Oh, I absolutely despise water in real life, which is why I find it odd that I like Water Pokemon so much. Well, I guess it's not the water part of them I really admire, but more how the Water type in general sport elegant and beautiful designs, as well as some of my favourite moves, both looking at their battle effects, animations and concepts, belong to the Water typing. But as for my opinion water in real life, assuming you're referring to swimming and the likes, I'm not quite fond of it. I've never been a good swimmer, which can be seen on my marks for swimming classes we had when I was little, and with the enthusiasm I show in swimming today, I doubt I ever will be. Swimming just does nothing for me, and adding (even though it's very unlikely to happen in the waters I've ever been swimming in :p), I just prefer to stay on dry land. Well, I can say I was a bit more fond of water when I was younger than I am now, as back then I actually enjoyed swimming and playing whatever games I could think of with the water, and I don't know why I've come to like it so little, but it probably has to do with less exposure to it (the swimming that is). We'll just have to see what the future brings :p Maybe I'll love to swim again one day, although I doubt it ;) As for water gun fights: 3, 2, 1, GO! I've never had a problem with it, and I've always loved water gun fights, and pretty much water fights in generals. It mainly just the swimming part I don't enjoy about it. As long as I stay out of any body of water, I'm happy :p But yeah, water gun fights have been a big part of my childhood, since I used to live in a neighbourhood where all the other kids also really enjoyed it. Yeah, to say I despise water may be an exaggeration, since it's only really swimming I hate, but yeah. That's pretty much most of it :p |

Goldfish, Which was the beginners. or the "doggy paddlers" Seahorse, Which was like the "Your an okay swimmer, But you would probably drown in the deep end" & Dolphin, Which was the best swimmers in our year. Each level would be from the shallow end, To the middle & then the deepest part of the pool. Respectively. At the end of each day IF people had gotten more confident with there swimming. They would move onto the next level. I started out in Seahorse. I was a decent swimmer, But i couldn't swim very far for long without getting tired. Each time people were moved onto the next stage of the program, I would always try and sneak up to the 'Dolphin' group. But i would always hear "Scott, Your not meant to be here. Please return to your group" It really sucked because i just wanted to be the best. But i clearly wasn't. {XD} Do you guys like seafood? I swear, I could live off prawns & crab. Speaking of which. I will get some prawns next time I'm at the supermarket. Such a tasty specimen. http://resources1.news.com.au/images/2012/11/19/1226519/870949-prawn-genetics-wayne-knibb.jpg |
Seafood? Oh gawd no, it always makes me feel sick from the texture and when it's all squishy in your belly! Prawns are the exception though, they're yummy. :D
Do I like water in real life? Yes http://www.pokecommunity.com/images/smilies/trozei/320.png It feels great to be in, it's really pretty, and it lets us live which is quite a bonus! I love swimming (though I don't do it so much any more) and rain is just amazing. It sounds incredible to listen to and it's so refreshing and lovely to watch. Also water fights are the best, and this is the main reason I love water: HOW CUTE IS THAT. So in the Pokémon world, I'd definitely train at least once Water type for the above reasons and I'd absolutely love surfing on them. I'd definitely prefer to surf than swim as swimming across the huge bodies of water in the Pokéworld would be a gargantuan task and it'd be a lot of fun travelling with your Pokémon like that, plus you'd have your body free for if you run into any Pokémon or trainers that need battling. Ah, the life it could be <3 |
Hey there guys! I've got a couple of updates to put out on the club!
1. The Water-Type tournament every Saturday on Showdown has been postponed to next Saturday due to Community Day XI occurring on this date. 2. Cooooooooooooongraaatuuulaaations to AlexOzzyCake for being promoted to Good Rod! |
Yes i completely agree. Food like muscles or oysters really makes me want to vomit. Have you ever tried crab..? Its so nice. & its not mushy or squishy like the other guys. {XD}
It would be so cool if when we surfed in game it would show the actual Pokemon that is carrying us. Like in HGSS how it doesn't matter which Pokemon you have, It will follow you. Ever since RSE how we surfed across the Hoenn on a Wailmer. Or at least a sprite that looked exactly like Wailmer. Or ATLEAST change the sprite to a Lapras. Which is my favourite Water Pokemon. Alex, You NEED to taste the Blue Swimmer Crab, Or Lobster. There expensive, But you will not be disappointed. :) Spoiler:
We call these guys Solider Crabs. Or if you want to get technical "Mictyris longicarpus" You can find them on the Northern Australian east coast. There name is perfect to because these guys literally appear in armies. & it's quite common for them to appear in the thousands at a time. Quote:

They were veeery yummy, I buy them quite a lot, but I've no idea if they're actually crab or not haha. If they are then I'm a fan, but I'm guessing it's a no when it's four for a pound XD Quote:
What would you guys choose to Surf with if this were a reality? (inb4 Lapras from everyone - I'm looking at you batto http://pldh.net/media/pokemon/trozei/131.png) |
Hahaha. Yes i don't think Crab Sticks are actually crab. I think they are something like cow fat. I could be wrong. But would make sense. They are really good hey. Especially with some salt. ;D
I always buy fish when going to a take away shop. Mostly battered. As i said, I cannot handle Oysters or anything that taste like something i coughed up.. But i LOVE more or less any other type of seafood. I think it would be SO hilarious to watch your little Pokemon self surf across Kanto on Goldeen. I can imagine not being able to see the bottom half of your body, Or something like being submerged in the ocean. LOL! Or as Pidgey taking off and you just jumping on the back haha. Not very practical, But good for a giggle. {XD} Well, Yes Lapras would be my first choice. (EVERYTIME) ;) http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/d/d3/Pin131.gif But from top of my head i think Slowbro would be interesting to ride. Or maybe Feralgaitor(?) Blastoies would be a hoot. :P Gyarados. Fun. :) |

Welcome to all new members!
As for surfing on a Pokemon in reality, why not Sharpedo? Just whizzing past everything and seeing the sights while progressively getting faster and faster. The only downside is that you have to watch out for that tree! Or whatever the heck sharks crash into. Coral? Just learn to control your Sharpedo otherwise you'll end up like George in the Jungle. Other than that it'd be pretty badass surfing like that. |
Welcome, folks! I'll try to get back in the swing of things since I'm on break until late August.
In real life, how much do you actually love the water? Are you a great, or mediocre swimmer, or maybe can't swim at all? Even discuss how much you enjoy water gun fights! I'm afraid of swimming underwater and drowning. :( I like staying in the shallow end of the pool. My fear intensified the moment I was swimming in a pool at a hotel with family during vacation and nobody seemed to notice that I had trouble staying above the surface. v_v; I'm not a good swimmer, but now I don't even try to put my head underwater. My parents put me through swimming lessons twice and I still won't learn well. Water slides and water gun fights are fun, I suppose. I haven't really done anything like that in a decade. :c Do you guys like seafood? I do! I love eating shrimp and fish. Oysters are okay, though after seeing some folks become ill after eating way too many, I try to limit myself too. What would you guys choose to Surf with if this were a reality? I wanna Surf on a big Pokemon that can carry me soo Lapras or any starter? Would Suicune carry me and walk on water? :O I was pretty bored so I made these. :3 What do you guys think? http://i.imgur.com/lLMBM1h.gif http://i.imgur.com/sJlY0Gz.gif |
Wow, those banners are epic Twilight. I really like them.
I'm also gonna answer the current topic: *In real life, how much do you actually love the water? Are you a great, or mediocre swimmer, or maybe can't swim at all? Even discuss how much you enjoy water gun fights!* I like to think I was a fish in another life. It's kind of weird that I love swimming now, because when I was younger I had an incident where I almost drowned, therefore left me with a fear of the deep end of pools. A few summers ago, though, my mom got me to swim and I was doing laps back and forth pretty quickly. Soon enough I was swimming every other day at the pool. I had like a 5 minute water gun fight once...it wasn't in a pool though xD I usually swim alone so yeah... |
I'm gonna give my answer to the question:
In real life, how much do you actually love the water? Are you a great, or mediocre swimmer, or maybe can't swim at all? Even discuss how much you enjoy water gun fights! I cannot swim. I have actually lost contentiousness underwater at least 5 times and needed CPR to regain contentiousness all 5 times. I tried to learn how to swim but my fear of drowning keeps me from learning. It is from this fear that I get my love of water Pokemon to make me feel better...safer. And yes I love water gun/balloon fights, they are awesome. |

I'm a girl who loves the water, given how Australia loves its passion for water-based activities. Summer is a time where they love to cool down. As for my swimming skills, I used to suck so much I could never leave the shallow end but towards the end of my school years I have learned loads and now I consider myself to be substantially good at swimming. Water guns? I don't like getting splashed thank you. And welcome to the club, Ed3Rd! Awesome Pokemon choices there, because Vaporeon and Lapras are among my fave early-gen Water-types. Although Feraligatr is really good too, it does have useful moves and stats. |
