KING GOODRA
My name's Nick. I'm almoooost 21 years old and I live in New Jersey! I work full time as a loader (though I'm switching shifts soon and will become a picker) in a car parts warehouse and go to school fulltime as well, studying graphic design to become a web designer, but I'm thinking about switching my major to either English or Business, because I'm also interested in becoming an English teacher and I'm interested in a career in the business field as well. I've also been very interested in humanitarian work as of recent and have been looking for ways to get more involved with that.
Most of my time is either spent at home or at work or school. I hang out with a friend or two about once or twice a week, and the rest I spend doing what I have to: working, school, sleeping, eating, web designing, and PC!! All the while, listening to music whenever I'm awake. I think I have a pretty boring life and I'm not really satisfied with it. I'd really like tons of questions about either my offline life or my PokéCommunity life and I'm open to answering (almost) any! |
Have you yet found a true love interest?
Are you not satisfied enough with the web design prospect or would you genuinely prefer to major in business/English? I'm just curious because web design seems like something you're utterly infatuated with so switching is a surprise to me. |
If you were to end up changing your major to English and becoming a teacher, what kind of school would you like to be teaching in and why? (ie. a well off school, a lesser funded school, etc)
When are you coming here?! What do you want for your birthday? |

I don't know what I want to major in, but those are the fields that I'm interested in the most. I don't think I like the idea of being a web designer for the rest of my life. I want to do something that means something to other people, which is why I'm interested in becoming a teacher, but I don't know how I would handle it. I think I'm good at web design, and I do really enjoy it (especially coding my designs), but making a career out of it that will last the rest of my life? I feel like I'll lose my interest for it if I make it my job. Quote:
Tomorrow. I don't want anything for my birthday. I haven't wanted anything for my birthday since I was about fourteen years old. I think the last thing I got for my birthday was a cool new keyboard for my computer and some other things that I can't remember. I don't really celebrate my birthday. |

When I get switched to day shift, I'll be done work at 6:30 so I figure I'll take two classes every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday for an hour and a half. I still haven't worked anything out, though. It got very stressful for me, but I think that was just because my job is so physically demanding. I have to move things and lift things for eight hours, so I spend a lot of time at home sleeping. |
Can I make you a birthday thread anyway?
Speaking of birthdays, any plans for yours? Gonna have a drink? Or is that considered celebrating, which you don't do...? :P |
Is there a song that you feel best describes you as a person?

My plan is to wake up around 9:00 and go get breakfast by myself and then eat it on the way back home and then take a shower and then sit around the house until its time to go to work and then go to work. Come home from work and do what I usually do on Thursdays and watch The Vampire Diaries and go to sleep. I'm not really interested in celebrating my birthday since I don't think it's really anything to celebrate, and I'm not interested in drinking or doing anything special, but I really appreciate people acknowledging it. How do you deal with stuff that you don't want to hear? Hide from it / tackle it head-on / etc.?
|
How well do you save your money? Do you have a issue with spending money on things you won't use?
|
If you could choose any Pokemon to describe yourself, which one would you choose and why?
What do you think of me? Just curious, but be honest and gentle if needed. :3 |

I do think I'm good at saving my money, until I fall into the trap of buying music. There's certainly room for improvement, and at the moment I'm currently working on a budget for myself. We'll see how that goes. If I can just not buy music, then that would solve a lot of problems. Because I don't buy single songs, I buy whole albums. Quote:
I like you. :) Quote:

Top 5 favorite Pokemon?
Favorite color? Favorite food? I have a reason for asking these. Also, why not just make a "post and I'll tell you what I think of you" blog at this rate? Before this thread turns into one, anyway. lol |

Green. I don't have a favorite food, but my favorite meal is pasta with a side salad and a slice of pizza. |
What do you like the most, and the least about your work?

If there's any skill you wish you could pick up, what would it be and why?

I don't like or dislike my job. There are parts of it that I really enjoy, and there are parts of it that I don't particuarly care for. I don't plan on staying there after school. I had the option to immediately switch to an actual career, I would do it. But it's a job with full time benefits (though that probably has something to do with me working full time), and that's hard to come by these days and I think it pays fairly well when compared to every other job I've had before. I don't really like the hours. I work 3pm until 11:30pm, and while it has its benefits of me not being home when my family members are at their prime of arguments, I would much rather work a different shift. My primary job function is loading trucks, but I'm one of the few people who is trained to do almost all of the operations in the warehouse, so that puts me in the unique position of doing other tasks. My favorite is picking, which is pretty much just like grocery shopping, but it's for someone else and you don't really know where it is. The boss (not my direct manager) calls me an animal at it, which is a huge compliment. I asked him a while ago to switch to that shift (the picking shift, which works 10:30am until 6:30pm) and he told me a few weeks ago he'd switch me. Once I get switched, I'll enjoy work a lot more, especially since the people on that shift I get along with a lot better than the people on my own (bar a few). Quote:

What kind of humanitarian work are you interested in? What got you interested in it?
|
Nick, how the heck did you ever come up with your username?
|
If I told you I was holding a house party in the summer and invited you, would you attend?

We faced eviction every month during that time. They would take my father to court, and give us until X date to move out, unless payment was processed before then. We would always make it on time, until the last time where that happened - somehow we were two months behind. I can't remember how that happened, but it did. During that time, my dad was looking for some financial services to help him out, but almost all of them were waitlisting organizations, where your name would be waitlisted and they'd help when your name came up. My sister's friend's mom told my dad about a non profit organization, of which I can't recall the name, that helped immediately. He contacted them, and had a meeting with them about our finances, and they called a few days later telling us that they would help. It was about 3,000 out of their own funds that they would pay to help strangers in need keep their home. That was a few months ago, but the impact it had on me inspired me to help people in similar ways. Somehow, I've grown really fond of looking "faith in humanity" up in search engines and YouTube, and see people paying it forward by doing good deeds and helping people in need in simple ways. It makes me feel good to see people do that, and it makes me feel even better to do that myself. So the type I'm most interested in is support. Financial support and emotional support. Quote:
I wanted a two word username, because I liked the idea of having a full name. I wanted a Japanese sounding username, because those were the 'in' usernames at the time and I was interested in anime a lot more at the time, and until that point, I hadn't really had any Japanese usernames. I wanted it to start with a P. Patchisou comes from Patchou, the creator of MSN plus. Then I decided to break apart Patch and ou from eachother by adding two letters, because I felt any more and it would be too long. I tried so many letter combinations and decided on is because it sounded the best. Yutohru comes from Tohru Honda, of Fruits Baskets (the first anime I watched knowing it was an anime). Then I decided Patchisou Tohru was too short and didn't ring. I tried combinations in front of Tohru until I found one that made it sound good. Again, I wanted it to be two letters because a) one letter wouldn't do much of a difference, and b) any more and it would be too long. I tried so many letter combinations and decided on is because it sounded the best. Quote:
