The Pretty Princess Diary (✿◕‿◕✿)

Hello~

Most of you know me as Pachy, and that's fine. I generally prefer that name anyways, but I do go by a few other monikers if you're curious about them. Zazie Lavender is my go-to name usually for most personal online interactions, I can usually be found under this name pretty easily. Unfortunately my real name isn't something I'm comfortable sharing, as I don't really like it, but you can ask me why if you'd like. Yes, the name I choose to display online is a pseudonym, and it's one I'm rather fond of currently. You may use Zazie as a first-name-basis name with me.

I'm a Computer Networking major in college, and I've got quite a lot of practical experience in using computers, so I'm a bit of a geek, and proud of it. I'm a Gemini, and take great pride in that too. I am a number of other things too, but I'll leave you all room to ask about them if you are interested.

In a way yes, I am. Although I'm not at any stage yet where I've seen anyone about it yet, but I do intend to transition eventually, even if only hormonally. For the most part though I consider myself genderqueer and gender fluid right now, though more often I just feel more female most often, so that may well not be the case. Anyways, that's the identification I stick to until something breaks or I see someone and decide exactly where on the spectrum I lie.

I do wish to become female in person though. I just don't have the access to medical professionals and treatment for that yet.

Nick May 5th, 2013 11:35 AM

What steps have you taken so far? Physically and mentally?

I remember before you left, you painted your nails and went under the name Skye now, but I think that that was really confusing because it seemed more like you were channeling your femininity and then going back to masculinity, rather than being as fluid as you seem to be now and accepting it as part of you instead of seemingly creating a persona to express it. Is that what you were doing back then, are do you not fully comprehend it yourself?

Well, the fluidity is how I'm expressing my acceptance of it now. The past "persona" was wasn't a mask, but I simply felt the need to partition myself for lack of better knowledge. Back then I felt more of "both" and less of "fluid" or "flexible". I was quite well entrenched in the binary. It couldn't be helped, growing up in Texas does not make learning such things easy. I got away with being more expressive in college because I was away from home, and naturally in a place where I didn't have to tolerate crap all too much. I'm not going to say it was wrong of me to partition myself, but I'm not going to call it the right thing to do either. I did what I felt I could then because I didn't have any support structure then that would accept and aid me with that. That's changed somewhat, my sister is a bit more accepting than the rest of my family though.

Now that I've left Texas, I've got more room to breathe and stretch now and be myself. I haven't changed much physically really. Though I've started wearing makeup at times when I'm not working or something. Mentally, I just broke the barrier between the two sides and realized just where I stand. It took a lot of soul searching and time to read up and educate myself to a degree where I can say I'm confident with what I say I am, and what I intend.

Sydian May 5th, 2013 5:18 PM

Hey, I use a pseudonym as well. I have two but eh. So did you come up with the name Zazie on your own or was that given to you by someone else?

What made you decide to come back to PC?

Do you still paint your nails? I'm not asking in a rude way btw, I'm genuinely interested.

It was inspired by the character from Negima, Zazie Rainyday, although I decided to go with a color for the second part of the name, which by the way is my favorite color. All in all it's a name I think that best describes me.

Although I left PC, I still did come back quarterly for a lurk session to see how things looked. My leaving was mostly life based anyways, as I had bigger things to tend to like college homework and PC was serving as too large of a distraction for me, so I quit and focused on improving my grades. Derozio's VM is what piqued my interest, and I looked around and liked what I saw, so decided to return.

Yes, I do. As a matter of fact, I don't feel right if my toes aren't painted. So I always paint my toes at least, because I know that even if life mandates that I be masculine as it often does, nobody has to see my feet. Today my toes are a bright Punk Rock Pink in case you were wondering. I'd have my fingernails painted too, but I'm job hunting, and I make it a point not to fem myself up when trying to appear as a professional during a job hunt.

1st, how is the job hunt going?

Not going to answer this one publicly, other than to say it's ongoing. I may choose to answer you privately when asked.

2nd, Who do you love and why?

You. Why? Because I do. I'll let you know when I know all the reasons why, but I do know that I could not find any reason to doubt it when you told me you liked me. It's been a while now and I still haven't found one yet.

3rd Do you have any pets?

I don't, but my sister does have a cat.

4th Do you have any other siblings?

Yes, One Younger brother and an older sister.

5th Fave food?

The list is too long to enumerate or write, and no food on that list is favorite above all else unless I happen to be eating it right that moment.

6th Fave Ice Cream Flavour?

Same as above, only that I can say I favor Vanilla base flavors the most.

7th Fave animes?

Pretty much I've loved every anime I've watched, except a few. I'm EXTREMELY picky about anime, so I don't typically watch an anime I don't believe I will enjoy.

8th Fave mangas?

I don't read manga usually. I don't have the time or the means to do so usually.

9th Fave Device?

I can't choose one, I'm a fan of most any useful piece of technology.

[supporter]ForeverDash[/supporter]:

Opinions on PC's battle Server?

I obviously enjoy it, despite my grousing otherwise, generally speaking. I've meet a lot of awesome people on there, two of which are my pairs, and the occasional battle or tournament doesn't hurt the fun either. I personally enjoy hanging around and chatting, whenever the topic is an amenable one. :3

It depends on a number of things, including finding someone to marry. Before or after, I don't believe it matters, so long as the person I want to marry is fine with it.

You're a computer geek (what is computer networking exactly?), but does your geekiness flow into any other areas that people commonly geek out over like music, movies, sports, pop culture, etc.?

Computer Networking is the field of servicing the gears, tubes, gadgets and gizmos that make today's interconnected lifestyle work. Basically it's about connecting computers together in a way that enables communication between them and I'm pretty well studied on pretty much all the protocols and underlying "Magic" behind what makes the internet WORK. Give me any two devices capable of connecting to each other, their manuals and I'll have 'em talking to each other like best friends pretty quickly usually. :3

But on to your actual question, yes, I do actually let my geekiness flow over into other areas of interest, and at times I "out geek" my older sister in some subjects. When I actually have an interest in a subject, my memory of things in that subject is typically pretty hard to beat.

She's kind. In the most profound ways. I like that. There are other reasons too; but I risk spoiling the story too much if I explain them. Just watch SonicX and see if you see what I see.

I connect with a great number of fictional characters who I connect profoundly with. There are too many to list them off, and I really can't list them all off anyway, I don't notice usually until I'm seeing the character. But I often find admirable traits in many characters, and I'm almost always able to put myself in their shoes. Like Cosmo. If I had to choose the most influential character in my life, It would have to be Hinamori Amu from Shugo Chara. She embodies many of the qualities I do in some ways.

I got into Coldplay when I was younger. Not sure exactly when, just that I discovered them when browsing music online, liked their sound, and I've had their music since then. It's done me a lot of good really.

Around what time did you first feel like you weren't meant to be your assigned gender and wanted to change your gender? And how did it happen?

(Not trying to sound rude, just wondering.)

Well, I realized it pretty early on in my childhood really. But I kept mostly quiet about it, being intelligent enough to test the waters only to find them much too hostile to such expressions. I kept that feeling to myself for a very long time actually. I didn't actually come to terms with it until I was about 18 or 19 and had become adult enough to learn about these things on my own accord. Texas is not known for it's progressiveness, and even being Gay is a challenge down there, and it's all kept quiet and under wraps.

Back in 2010 I actually put my foot down. When I woke up in that hospital bed from a 3 day coma, I made a promise to myself to be myself and nobody else. That promise is one of the core values that drives my goals and I don't intend to break it at any cost.

How has PC changed you since joining?
Oh wow. PC has changed a LOT. And I mean a lot. This is one of those questions you should sit down for, because a lot changed. But anyway I don't have time to spill the whole spiel, and I'll sum it up.

PC has grown in size, pretty much 10x it's size from 2004. The atmosphere has changed greatly, and it was certainly a lot more lax then. I miss those times. I've always been a lurker of the more free-form off topic areas of PC, because I enjoy those. Fortunately not much changed about them except a few renames and changing of the guards.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
Japan. I'm too much of an anime fan to want anywhere else. I feel like I probably would have been a much different and probably better person if I had been born and raised there. XD

Favorite Pokemon from each gen?
  1. Pikachu
  2. Smeargle
  3. Swampert
  4. Pachirisu

Walking the stage at my High School Graduation.

Worst moment in life?
Waking up in the hospital to find that my dad was dead

Where do you see yourself in 5-8 years?
I don't know. It depends on what I end up doing. If all goes to plan, you'll find out sooner or later.

Fave books?
Too many to list. But I'm particularly fond of the Heralds of Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey, and the Xanth series by Piers Anthony

Puppies or Kitties?
Puppies.

Pikachu or Pachirisu?
Pachirisu is way cuter than Pikachu and you know it~ <3

If you would were to come to Canada, which province/city would you visit?
Whichever one you were in. It just wouldn't be a trip to Canada without seeing you. ;P

Fave State?
None.

Fave IM client?
Pidgin is my bread and butter when other IM clients fail me.

Fave Browser?
Firefox all the way. Chrome is ok, but I don't care for the Big Brother aspect of it. I trust Google to "Do no Evil", but I don't trust their stockholders who are greedy little bastards.

Fave OS?
Windows. Microsoft may be old, slow and sometimes downright unresponsive as their own flagship operating system can be at times but they do take the time to do things right most of the time. For every failure Microsoft makes, a success soon follows after it.

Fave Email Client?
Thunderbird. I like my email clients as open sourced as my browsers thank you.

It's my baby, and it's the place where people, no matter where on the vast wide gender spectrum you lie, are always welcome so long as they remain civil. It's also a place where self-discovery is pretty much on the top of the agenda every day, because we're Pioneers, and we forge on through a New Frontier every day. Society isn't going to change overnight and accept us, but we certainly do celebrate every time they give an inch, because that means we can take another mile in making a better society where all are considered equal.

I don't code. I know a few languages, but I really don't code unless I have a need to do so.

I'd have to say Star Trek, it's got plenty enough seasons to last a while, and keep me company, and I am a fan of it. Why? Because I don't know of a show I care for enough to have lasted long enough to watch for the long haul.

Whats your favorite type of Network setup? Star? Bus?

Meh. Those layouts are fine, but I prefer a Mesh layout myself, for the redundancy. Not to mention that if you properly implement RIP, BGP, IGP, and/or other routing protocols you usually can ensure that no matter what, you can get your packets to where you're going with the shortest TTL and overall RTT.

Would you ever come out of invisibility one day?

I may. Depends on my mood. Currently I favor invisibility for many reasons, the primary one being that no one can tell when/if I'm active or online unless I make myself obvious by posting. This cuts down on things like newb PMs and things like that. If you haven't already noticed, I don't do the welcome wagon thing, I just happen to be friendly when I come across people normally, as long as they're not rude and/or extremely n00by.

Note that there's a difference between a newbie/newb and a n00b, the primary one being that newbies are nice to meet and get along with, and n00bs are not. A n00b is often taxing to deal with, and is sometimes even a troll in disguise, or otherwise could turn out to be an absolute jerk later on. Now I'm not saying all n00bs can't be transformed, I just don't have the patience for it all of the time.

So invisibility is a must-have state; besides I have other sites I visit too...and I don't really intend to get more involved in PC than I can handle. Although I have been active on the battle server because I found the people there to be nice, and the system to be more real-time when it comes to chatter...which is far more superior than posting on the forums usually. Although I do occasionally partake in FG or D&D or even the DCC when the topic is amiable, I don't really push myself to be "active". I pride myself in making quality posts when I post outside my comfort zones such as CCP/FG.

Invisibility also has the added effect of helping me to avoid drama. Because I am not percieved as online outside of staff; I can't be pulled into others' drama, my VMs are more signal than noise, and I get fewer "Random" contacts which turn out to be stupid and/or annoying, so I can leave my profile open to VMs for everyone and still get some random people to VM me occasionally. I also find that being invisible reduces expectations of a reply; so I am free to choose to not reply and people are not hurt by that choice as often, especially when real life makes demands upon my time and attention that require me to neglect PC for any amount of time.

So instead of being wide open and having to resort to letting people know when I'll be inactive, I just remain low activity, with exception to responsibilities or obligations that I may have; like battle leagues or diplomacy and things like that.

How do you feel about movies, from american pop culture movies to Japanese movies, to anime movies?
It depends on the movie and the genre. I am kind of picky about movies though, and don't watch many unless I'm sure I'll like what I'm watching. I strongly dislike being disappointed by a movie. x3

Is there any movie that you watched and liked in particular?
I generally like anything I will watch. If I don't want to watch it, I'm fairly sure I'll dislike it.

What do you like about Seattle? Dislike?
I am undecided on that. I don't feel like I've been here long enough to say much.

Is there anything you'd want from me? Don't want?
I want to always share my love with you. Always. In any way I feel I need to express that love. I want you to love me the same way. I want you to share your love for me in any way you feel you need to express it. I don't want us to be tethered by "This thing is 'true' love" or "That thing is 'true' love". I want you to be my love, and do everything you can to show me that love in as many ways as you are comfortably able.

In short, I want you to let me love you infinitely and love me as much as I love you Twi.

Classified information.

A deep, dark blue~ (Actually BB Couture for Men's Military Blue) It's a pretty durable nail polish. :D

Yes! I do~ I always match them. But I don't get to paint my fingers as often as I do my toes. If I paint my fingers and toes at the same time they're almost always matched to the same color polish, or a complimenting color. Like if I were to paint my fingernails today and I had that color, I'd paint them bright red. But since I don't have any red nail polish I can't do that, so I'd go for the same color blue~

Pretty good actually. :D

Don't just envy. Do something about it. If your girlfriend wouldn't approve, then that should indicate that there is a potential problem, or maybe something you and she can talk about. If you can't talk about things like that with your girlfriend, does she really like you for you?

If painting your nails makes you happy, why not do it? Those who matter don't really mind; and those who mind, don't really matter. Confidence is not something I could say I have a ton of, but I finally put my foot down and said "No, this is a part of myself. No one else has the right or reasoning to say otherwise." Although I might elect to go unpolished in a situation like a job interview, I wouldn't do so after being hired; and if the employer chose to prohibit such behaviors, I'd find a better job quickly.

You're absolutely right. I know all of this yet I still can't budge. I just feel like no one would accept it. :(

She is very open minded, loving, and caring. However, this isn't a traditional thing for a male to do. I fear she may not take well to it. I can see why though. This world isn't very accepting of even the smallest forms of change, especially when it comes to men. Women seem to get all the freedom in the world when it comes to expressing themselves. This is a part of me that will never go away. I'm sure I'll have to share it at some point or another but now just isn't that time. (It seems so silly when compared to other people's problems.)

I do indulge myself though. I paint my nails on my days off while I play XBOX with some friends. I've only gone so far as to step outside to see how they look in the day light. Perhaps one day I'll have the confidence to shine as bright as you. :)

Tradition is meaningless. But then again take your time. Just don't let things like what society thinks and such have any meaning; it doesn't matter. It is our generation that is overturning these traditions, and you're not alone. However I can understand your caution. At your own pace is fine. :3

I whole agree wholeheartedly. The funny thing is I'm usually the one telling people what you're telling me. Heh. I should really listen to myself sometimes. Still, I feel kind of silly worrying over something like this when others have something much bigger they keep hidden. I really appreciate the talk Pachy, its nice being able to be honest once in a while. Maybe one day we can go get our nails done together. :P

Anyway! Stealing your thread is totally not cool!

Do you have any pets? If so what kind? Would you like to have more?

You weren't hijacking the thread, I welcome some conversation and initiated it here because it made more sense in context; and thought it might not be something you'd be comfortable about VMing.

I don't own any pets of my own. I don't know if I would have a pet, but if I did, it would have to be a dog.

I'm glad then, I really enjoyed discussing it. The conversation got me wanting to go out and buy a new color so I'm picking one up from Essie! It's the perfect color for summer. I think I might do my toes and keep them done. After all, nobody can judge what they can't see. :)

I hope you're having a nice night.

What do you do when you miss me?

What is it about me do you miss? The most? The least?

Are you aware of how much I deeply and infinitely love you till death do us both?

What is it about Roses that you like?

How badly do you want a puppy? Why do you want one? (aside from their kawaiiness)

Why do you take such pride in being a Gemini? (blame my curiosity yo)

Why am I your dream date?

Will you go out with me? ;P

Will you watch the Sword Art Online Dubb (Sub can be a option too) with me? (as a date)

Have you painted your toe-nails today? If so, what color? :P

How long have you been living in Seattle for?

Do you miss being in Texas? Did you like it when you were there?

What is the weather like in Seattle today?

Do you enjoy sunsets? Sunrises?

Will you go out with me? ;P

Think about you nonstop.

What is it about me do you miss? The most? The least?
I miss everything about you the most.

Are you aware of how much I deeply and infinitely love you till death do us both?
Yes.

What is it about Roses that you like?
I know nothing of Roses. Just that they are an expression of love.

How badly do you want a puppy? Why do you want one? (aside from their kawaiiness)
Their Loyalty and love makes them a supreme pet

Why do you take such pride in being a Gemini? (blame my curiosity yo)
Because it's who I am. My mutability pushes my limits and forces me to explore new things.

Why am I your dream date?
You are you.

Will you go out with me? ;P
Yes; at the soonest possible free moment we both share.

Will you watch the Sword Art Online Dubb (Sub can be a option too) with me? (as a date)
I'll try anything once. As such I'll give any anime a three episode preview. Doing it with you will make it even more special.

Have you painted your toe-nails today? If so, what color? :P
No; but I have plans to paint them purple when time allows.

How long have you been living in Seattle for?
About 9 months now.

Do you miss being in Texas? Did you like it when you were there?
No. Not really. People there are bigoted and stupid about many things.

What is the weather like in Seattle today?
It was overcast all day; until the very moment I began replying to this post; then the sun came out to shine (literally) ♥

Do you enjoy sunsets? Sunrises?
Yes I enjoy both

How do you identify politically? Where do you think that comes from?

Are you tall? :P

What would be the first few things (in that order!) that you'd think of a friend of yours bought you a tie? What'd you do about it?

Melody October 10th, 2013 10:06 AM

How do you identify politically? Where do you think that comes from?
I don't identify along party lines, so Independent would be most appropriate. My views are a mix of both sides though I do favor most of what the Obama Administration is trying to do.

Are you tall?
Oh just under 6 feet. So I guess so? I don't really know, I don't think about it to be quite honest.

What would be the first few things (in that order!) that you'd think of a friend of yours bought you a tie? What'd you do about it?
It depends on many variables.

So, in your opinion/point of view /perspective, what makes a Man, a man? And what makes a Woman, a woman?

How is the weather in Seattle been?

Are you looking foward to Thanksgiving and Christmas, if you celebrate them? What is your usual tradition on both?

What would you like to see from me in the future?

Is there anything you would like me to improve in/work on?

How do feel now that we have reached about 8 months in our relationship?
