Hi Fikri 29 .... !! :)
See according to ur starter u can choose ....
Like if u have oshawott den u can choose plume fossil ...
AS Tirtuoga is rock and water type and since oshawott is also water type i suggest plume fossil and even Archen is rock type plus flying type too....
And if u dont have any water type den u can choose tirtuoga but still if i would b u i would hav chose plume fossil Aka Archen

Hello Fikri!

I believe I chose the Plume Fossil, with Archen/Archeops, because they're better with base stats. Tirtouga looks better than Archen, but Archeops looks cooler than Carracosta. But after all, looks don't always matter.

If you need more information, (because I'm not very descriptive), look at the pages of Tirtouga, and Archen. Also look at Carracosta and Archeops.

Hope this helps!

I feel like we can turn this into a thread about which fossil you chose. Soo future replies, just post about what fossil YOU chose, since the OP has received an answer.

I chose the Plume Fossil in Black and the Cover Fossil in White because I started with Oshawott in the former game and Tepig in the latter game (in the latter game, I needed a decent Water Pokémon outside of Tympole and Panpour).

tealwing May 16th, 2013 8:13 AM

I picked the Plume Fossil because I liked Archeops' design better. It's the first bird Pokemon, how cool is that? :)

H0tB3ans May 16th, 2013 8:34 AM

I picked the Plume Fossil, it's evo had a far better design then Tirtouga's. I mean, a flying-rock Pokémon, how is that even possible?! o_o

Kikaito plush May 16th, 2013 8:48 AM

I picked the Cover fossil because my boyfriend had pick the Plume fossil. I prefer the tirtouga line to the Archen line beause it is a anicent turtle which are one of my favorite animals. plus it has good stats

kevcrash May 16th, 2013 9:44 AM

I picked the Cover Fossil because omg Tirtouga is just so cute. Also, Carracosta is very strong, even though it is slow. It also doesn't have crap defenses and comes with very good abilities (:

It's one of my favorite Unova Pokemon!

Warship May 16th, 2013 10:54 AM

well both of them are very strong but have different fighting style. carracosta is more defensive so it takes a beating and then retaliates while archeops attacks fast and strong. the bad thing about archeops is its atk and sp.atk halves when its hp is down to its half. i'd choose plume though because archeops is very strong. (attack on par with rhyperior 'nuff said)

hiff8 May 16th, 2013 11:25 AM

I liked the Cover fossil alot, Carracosta looks like the Squitle trios master, all old and wise

And willy, trees also preform cellular respiration and therefor need oxygen... so yeah...

Hikamaru May 16th, 2013 3:42 PM

I went with the Plume Fossil because Archeops is a massive beast with those mighty offenses and speed, its ability may be a drawback but if you keep its HP high it can slay a lot of foes.

Also, I picked Oshawott as my starter on my game so it was fitting I didn't want a Tirtouga.

Rai May 16th, 2013 9:12 PM

I chose the Plume Fossil in Black. I wasn't sure what the difference was so I just chose randomly.

In my Black 2, I chose the Cover Fossil so that I could have both fossil pokemon ^-^

Synerjee May 16th, 2013 9:37 PM

Plume Fossil is the way to go yo! Archeops is one heck of a powerhouse and can bring down almost any Pokemon with ease as long as its HP stays above half of its full HP. Attack and Speeeeed are my style, and this doesn't come together with Carracosta, despite its tank-like defenses.

Jellicent♀ May 16th, 2013 9:43 PM

I dive straight for the Plume Fossil. I just love Archen and Archeops so dang much. ;A;
Like, they're cute, they're STRONG, and I just love them and their typing so much. <3 Their movepool is amazing, to boot!

Brendino May 16th, 2013 10:44 PM

I went with the Plume Fossil, since I'd already picked Oshawott as my starter, and had no realy desire to train another Water type. Archeops actually proved to be a pretty good Pokemon after I taught it Acrobatics (since it wasn't holding anything), which I believe it works out to 165 base damage with STAB. As long as you don't let its HP get too low, it's really quite a powerful Pokemon.

Nakala Pri May 16th, 2013 11:40 PM

Archen. It can be impossible to hit with Double Team. You can use Acrobatics to be invincible, and be over-powered with Hidden Power! Tirtuoga is pretty weak sometimes, and in the long run Water and Rock just don't cut. So Archen for the win!

Yours, Super Rozu!

Level-X May 16th, 2013 11:42 PM

Since I have both versions, I was able to use both. I prefer theCover Fossil more though because I like Tirtouga overall design better. I also was never really good with Archen in battle due to it's ability.

blue May 17th, 2013 2:46 AM

I've actually never used either but Flying types always take it for me, so it would be the Plume Fossil.

Miau May 17th, 2013 8:08 AM

I chose Tirtouga (so Cover Fossil) in my White run, and was pretty satisfied with it. I kept Carracosta on my team even though I already had a Water type, a really strong Seismitoad actually, and even though I'm not usually a fan of slow Pokemon. His stats were good enough to compensate for always moving last. From what I heard, Archeops is a strong attacker and relies on its speed, so pretty much the opposite, so I would try it out. I dislike his ability though, so he's not really top priority right now.

Dangelitus May 17th, 2013 9:07 AM

I choose archen because my starter in PW was oshawott.

Besides i found useful archeops for fly between towns and by his speed and strength.

One more reason is: I have more difficult to obtain archen via GTS than tirtouga XD.

Sabrewulf238 May 17th, 2013 9:14 AM

I went with the cover fossil on my first time around. Tirtouga seemed like a cooler pokemon to me.

I had an Oshawott but I wasn't intending on using the fossil pokemon on my team anyway.

BUKKØW May 17th, 2013 5:19 PM

cover fossil for me just liked the design and not a big fan of bird pokemon dont really use them that often

Ephemeral Euphoria May 17th, 2013 6:29 PM

I went with the cover fossil since I wanted a bulky water type and Carracosta fit the bill perfectly.

✯Shigeru✯ May 17th, 2013 6:39 PM

Even though it probably has the 2nd worst ability in the game behind truant, I always pick the plume fossil because Archen/Archeops can really wreak havoc for those few turns its HP isn't below half. While I do like Carracosta's shell smash strategy, I still prefer the risk that comes with using Archeops.

Zekrom1066 June 3rd, 2013 6:54 PM

I chose the Plume Fossil, but I did not train it...

If you chose the Cover Fossil, you would end up with a Tirtouga and later evolving into a Carracosta. Carracosta can spam Shell Smash but it has a big difficulty setting up due to its low speed stat. Also, most special Grass-type attacks, especially Grass Knot, can OHKO it before it can even respond.

If you chose the Plume Fossil, you would end up with an Archen and later evolving into an Archeops. Archeops has a gigantic base Attack and a good Speed Stat, thus it can spam Stone Edge and Acrobatics if it doesn't have a held item. However, you need to take note of its Ability - Defeatist, which hinders it if its below half HP.

Up to you :)
