I don't think my body is ready.

I'm gonna play Alpha Sapphire with 100% of my full attention. Won't even touch my new Smash U game, controller, and adapter until after I complete everything in AS that I have to do.

Doesn't help that I have both games pre-ordered though. x.x

Judge Mandolore Shepard October 7th, 2014 5:50 AM

Well, for the unlockable characters I obtained Mr. Game & Watch, Dr. Mario, and Jigglypuff yesterday. Dr. Mario was the easiest of those three. The only unlockable characters I have left to get are R.O.B., Ganondorf, and Bowser Jr.

As for the Wii U version release date, it does not affect me since I don't have a Wii U.

Pendraflare October 7th, 2014 5:57 AM

Uh-oh.

Come Black Friday, or maybe even before then, Nintendo's profit are gonna go through the roof. I don't have a Wii U but I can only imagine what the stores will be like then.

saifors October 7th, 2014 7:55 AM

Unlocked all chars and stages mains are: Link, Robin, Sonic, Charizard and Bowser Jr. trying to get good at Lucina and I want to use duck hunt duo.

What does everyone think of the character customization? On one hand, I think it's a great idea to spice up all the characters a bit and even have a chance at patching up their weaknesses, but on the other, I kinda don't wanna use it too much because I don't wanna get too used to my characters being customized and then having that screw me up in a fight where you can't use custom stuff.

Also, I had a question. Do the different colors for the paths in Classic mode mean anything? Or are they literally just different colored paths?

ShadowEdge October 7th, 2014 10:49 AM

Wait doesn't Pokemon ORAS come out on the same day?

Rellek October 7th, 2014 10:51 AM

I personally don't like customization. Like, at all. But I'm weird and like having things be clean cut and simple.

I don't have the 3DS version and I'm glad I didn't get it because I don't have much longer to wait for it on Wii now haha! And I have Hyrule Warriors and Bayonetta to keep me busy while I wait. Jeez there's so much good stuff coming out... I don't even have time for all of it.

Yes :P My wallet is going to hate me.

Klippy October 7th, 2014 11:34 AM

Sorry, if it comes down to Smash or ORAS...I gotta go with Smash.

I think it's cool, especially in the case of characters who are actually better with a different moveset. But...like you said, you get used to it and then you can't use it and it's GG.

The path colors don't matter until the last path selection. I think it's kinda obvious why.

I am immediately going to change Link's Gale Boomerang to his normal boomerang because Melee nostalgia. Besides that, I'm a very plain guy and just rather stick with the characters default moves and default colors and stats. Though Marth's tornado shield breaker and Kirby's ice breath are pretty sweet.

I watched ProJared's review and I believe he said that the colors represent an added difficulty to the fight.

Meganium October 7th, 2014 12:23 PM

I am waiting for a Nintendo WiiU bundled with SSB for WiiU to come out, so that way I can buy it and blow up my bank account with a bomb-omb. gdi nintendo y u do this to me??

$250 for a used Nintendo WiiU at GameStop ehhh idk.

BrandoSheriff October 7th, 2014 12:25 PM

The paths are a different color based on the difficulty of the upcoming fight, with the default blue path being the easiest and red being the hardest, with green being somewhat in-between. This is also reflected in the rewards in the roulette, which tends to give out more of a certain reward for choosing the harder path.

Don't you love when you are on a higher than 6 difficulty and you choose a red path, when the roulette is grey with a times zero next to it :(

Btw, is anyone able to beat the classic mode on 9 difficulty? I feel like the final boss isn't too difficult, but rather too resilient to damage. I somehow made it to the final stage, when you battle your buffed shadowy self, and wasn't able to pull if off with ZSS on her last life with over 150% damage. I feel so defeated since you can't use the hammer on that challenge either.

Pinkie-Dawn October 7th, 2014 1:11 PM

So everyone has found out about Smash's release date, and it looks like the U.S. is getting it first, which means it's our turn to spoil the Wii U version as Japan's punishment for spoiling the 3DS version for us.

Regarding customizations, there are some moves where I wish were the characters' default moves like Ganondorf's neutral B, in which one of his customizables has him use his sword, and Palutena's entire B moveset.

Bowser is your best friend.

Does anyone else feel like it's a lot easier to get juggled around in this game? I feel like I'm playing Tekken. Curse you Namco!

SnowpointQuincy October 7th, 2014 9:08 PM

On Custom Characters (Mii's) and Equipment: Which stats are more important?

Speed seems to give me the best results. Even at -50 attack it doesn't feel like you are loosing a lot. And having +50~ speed is insane. Your jumps are higher, and you can sprint the entire stage in seconds.

What can of set-up to use on your Miis?

Polar Spectrum October 7th, 2014 9:16 PM

On the paths in Classic - you can pause while walking up to a crossroads (not that it goes fast anyways) to see which opponent's on each path, AND - if there's trophies on any particular path. Which, there will be trophies on some paths on occasion. More coins too. Some paths get more coins.

On juggling, yeah kinda - smash has always had chain moves / combos though, even since 64 + Melee days. I just thank the lord there's not a launch delay on hits like Brawl. It bothered me so much you could hit someone after hitting them but before a launch from the first attack. :I And slipping. Lol thank you Inkay for the brawl jokes.

PlatinumDude October 7th, 2014 9:20 PM

I got the 3DS version of Smash Bros. for me and my cousin and we've been enjoying it. I mainly use Greninja and Meta Knight, but I use Little Mac, the Mii Swordfighter and Captain Falcon sometimes. I play Solo on random to try out the different characters.

So far, I've unlocked Ness, Falco, Wario, Lucina, Dr. Mario and Dark Pit. I had to get my cousin to help me unlock Dark Pit earlier, though.

As for the Mii fighters, me and my cousin agreed to make fighters based on South Park characters. I made Cartman and Stan as the gunner and sword fighter, respectively, while my cousin made Kenny and Kyle gunners.

The colored paths are difficulty levels within a difficulty level. Green is easy fights, blue is medium, red is hard.
Wether you encounter Master core depends on level and paths taken.

Also, I suggest you try sonic with 3 rare agility badges, lots of speed powerups in Smash Run.
It's too funny to see his legs just jerk up and down xD

Keiran October 8th, 2014 12:51 AM

I haven't unlocked many things, I've just been focusing on practicing the character I've liked the most: Toon Link. I've beaten Classic on 7.0 difficulty with Toon Link, my best yet.

Anyone know if customization can affect Classic mode? I see it has the wrench option, but it doesn't use my custom moveset and stuff.

edit: I don't know how I did it..but I randomly scored 201k in Target Blast...

You can use custom stuff for Classic. You have to tap the wrench first to enable customs, then select your character.

I don't understand Target Blast. Did it twice and was like "it looks like a mix of Home Run Contest and Angry Birds". But it seems kinda luck based; just slam the bomb and hope for the best?

So you simply just need to click custom before you choose your character? That's weird, but thanks. Haha.

Yeah..it seems completely random..most of the times the bomb goes straight for the bottom..but when I got 201k it flew at a 90 degree angle and hit a bomb box.

Judge Mandolore Shepard October 8th, 2014 5:47 AM

I admit that last night, for the unlockable characters I have left to obtain, two of them switched around on me. After failing again for getting R.O.B., I decided to do Classic mode again, so I could attempt to beat him again after clearing it. That was not what happened, instead I ended up doing my first attempt to get Ganondorf.

As for my Mii Fighters, I have them set up with the following:
Mii Brawler - Defense and Speed
Mii Gunner - Attack and Defense
Mii Swordfighter - Speed

Starry Windy October 9th, 2014 1:12 AM

I haven't customized my Mii Fighters' stats, but I do so to some of my mains, like Link, Kirby and Lucina. Usually I prioritize to more Attacks, or even Defense, because Speed doesn't quite matter for me atm.

Kameken October 9th, 2014 11:39 AM

I'm probably the only one, but I don't feel right playing as Mii characters in this game.

It feels like playing a DBZ game as a random guy with a gun.

By the way, anyone know if the villager can pocket a fire blast from mega charizard? I've been meaning to try it against my friend who mains charizard, but I always wimp out in the end.
