But on the topic of Ivysaur and Squirtle being cut from smash, I really don't mind too much. I only ever use Shulk anyway. |

On another subject, there's a tier list on Smashboards that's been going on for several weeks now where the community votes about every three days on whether a character should go up or down. Naturally there's bias, and in general I disagree with some character's placements. However, some can be relatively accurate. Since I can't just copy-paste it, here is the list as of the last voting period. |

Tier lists have always been helpful to have. |
I don't trust tiers period.
And Smash Ladder? |
Official tier lists are good because they are actually based on tournament results. They give a good idea on how characters are standing in the current metagame based on actual facts.
Also Luigi is legit top 10 in Smash 4 imo. |

And if we're talking about Smash 4 specifically, tier list placing will mean even less because of how balanced the roster is. Characters will only be in tiers because one seems slightly better than the other, e.g Luigi is better than Mario, does that make him extremely better? No, it just means he's either slightly or somewhat better because of how close the roster is. The same could be said about Diddy over the majority of the class. He is the one that stands out as being top over the rest of the class, but that doesn't mean someone people think is near the bottom like Zelda is unplayable. (Also, Diddy just needs some nerfs to get him on par with the rest) Basically, tiers are guidelines. They give us an idea of who is better than others, even slightly. P.S I personally find the aforementioned Zelda to be better than a lot of people think, and thus underrated due to underrepresentation. |

Basically a ranking type matchmaking website where you can play other players, counter-pick stages, gain rank, etc for Melee netplay, Project M, and Smash4. I was advised to search for players on their rather than via For Glory if I wanted a better competitive online experience. Played a few matches on it so far and I love how smoothly everything runs, also has a snazzy chatroom :P |
I don't know if this is relevant to anything you guys are discussing but I'm up for any wii u online matches if anyone wants to fight.

Is it just me, or do CPUs seem to be prone to killing themselves sometimes in Smash 4? Just did a match where the CPU Pikachu killed itself twice in a row with its BUp (but whatever, I hate fighting CPU Pikachus anyway). Shulks routinely kill themselves switching modes while off-stage. There's been a few other things too I think. I never remember the CPUs doing stupid things and killing themselves in Melee or Brawl.
|
I've had that happen to me before. A lot of them tried to get fancy and spike me but it ended up an SD.

Also, Shulk and Diddy AI are very prone to not being able to recover. Shulk will end up scrolling through the arts trying to get jump but hitting the blast line (even if he could've easily recovered without the arts), and Diddy will just aim it completely wrong either into the stage, or not charge it enough. |

Does anyone have any idea when that Miiverse stage is going to be added to the Wii U game? I'm guessing maybe sometime around March with Mewtwo or something... But I dunno.
|
I didn't really know about this until the 50 fact extravaganza, but it's probably going to come in a later update.
|
I'm really excited about the mewtwo DLC, especially since it means they might make an amiibo of him.
I'm a bit late for this, but on the topic of tiers; I think they're more about how easy a character is to use, rather than potential. Except a few really good or bad ones, I'd say they're all near equal in the hands of someone who's learned them. Charizard is a prime example of this (100% not biased or anything). His attacks hit hard and can KO fairly early, but people don't use him because it requires actual aim and reflexes. |
Dunno if this counts as Smash-related, since they're the first game to support amiibos, but did you guys hear about the whole Rosalina situation? Here's the link to the article: http://www.examiner.com/article/man-buys-over-100-rosalina-amiibo-figures-just-so-fans-cannot
Even one of my friend's pre-order for the amiibo got cancelled due this guy buying all of them. Commissioner Gordan was right, some people really do want to watch the world burn, or to be more accurate, a large portion of the smash community. |

I, for one, am glad the guy wasted so much money on a pointless stunt like this, especially since him buying more = Nintendo getting money = Nintendo making a whole lot more Amiibos. It says he's going to try to do the same with Palutena, hopefully I'll still be able to get one.
People like that don't deserve money. |

Apparently he's also not well acquainted with Rule 34, since I'm pretty sure that there's hentai out there for most of the characters in the Smash roster. |

He knows the Robin amiibo is probably going to be male, right? I mean, I know there's probably some of male Robin, but... What? |
