NEW Pokémon: Vivilion,Noivern,Talonflame,Clauncher and Skrelp!

They released more Pokemon!
Noivern
Noivern is extremely combative toward anything that wanders too close to it. It flies through even the darkest nights using ultrasonic waves it emits from its ears. This Pokémon loves fruit, and feeding it fruit will keep it calm.
http://www.pokemonxy.com/_ui/img/_en/art/Noivern-Pokemon-X-and-Y.jpg

Type Flying/Dragon
Height 4' 11"
Weight 187.4 lbs. (I copied that)

Vivillon
The Bug- and Flying-type Pokémon Vivillon uses its wings to scatter its scales or create a strong wind to attack. Vivillon is said to have a secret hidden in the colorful decorative pattern on its wings.

http://www.pokemonxy.com/_ui/img/_en/art/Vivillon-Pokemon-X-and-Y.jpg

Type Bug/Flying
Height 3' 11"
Weight 37.5 lbs.

Talonflame
An evolved form of the recently announced Fletchling, Talonflame is a Fire- and Flying-type Pokémon that gains a whole new level of speed and firepower. It dives at foes, and then attacks with devastating kicks.
So, what do you think of these five new Pokémon!?
http://www.pokemonxy.com/_ui/img/_en/art/Talonflame-Pokemon-X-and-Y.jpg

Type Fire/Flying
Height 3' 11"
Weight 54.0 lbs.

Clauncher
Clauncher is easily recognizable by the oversized claw on one of its arms. This useful claw can seize prey and shoot water at others as a projectile!
http://www.pokemonxy.com/_ui/img/_en/art/Clauncher-Pokemon-X-and-Y.jpg
Type Water
Height 1' 08"
Weight 18.3 lbs.

Skrelp
Disguised by its shape, Skrelp pretends to be a piece of seaweed. When prey gets too close, Skrelp bathes it in poison to keep it from struggling.
http://www.pokemonxy.com/_ui/img/_en/art/Skrelp-Pokemon-X-and-Y.jpg
Type Poison/Water
Height 1' 08"
Weight 16.1 lbs.

In Game Pictures:
Spoiler:

Noivern:
http://www.pokemonxy.com/_ui/img/_en/screenshots/june_new_p16_01.jpg
The waves Noivern emits from its ears are strong enough to reduce large boulders to rubble.
http://www.pokemonxy.com/_ui/img/_en/screenshots/june_new_p16_02.jpg
Hit all other Pokémon in battle, including allies, with Noivern's Boomburst move, a new and powerful attack!
Vivillon:
http://www.pokemonxy.com/_ui/img/_en/screenshots/june_new_p11_01.jpg
Vivillon can use its wings to blow up a strong wind to attack!
http://www.pokemonxy.com/_ui/img/_en/screenshots/june_new_p11_02.jpg
Attack with Vivillon's Struggle Bug move, which will lower its targets' Special Attack. It's useful for long battles!
Talonflame:
http://www.pokemonxy.com/_ui/img/_en/screenshots/june_new_p16_03.jpg
When the battle heats up, flames will pour from its body as it zooms through the sky.
http://www.pokemonxy.com/_ui/img/_en/screenshots/june_new_p16_04.jpg
Talonflame can learn Brave Bird, one of the strongest Flying-type moves. It also damages the user.
Clauncher
http://www.pokemonxy.com/_ui/img/_en/screenshots/june_new_p18_01.jpg
Use the claw to crush opponents with the Water-type move Crabhammer!
http://www.pokemonxy.com/_ui/img/_en/screenshots/june_new_p18_02.jpg
This powerful move is also more likely to land critical hits.

LycaNinja June 11th, 2013 6:43 AM

Where did you get the types? I didn't see their types at all...

Guy June 11th, 2013 6:48 AM

Let's keep this thread to discussing both Vivilion and Noivern since there are other threads on the board to discuss other news and updates.

I LOVE VIVILION SO MUCH THOUGH! I haven't liked a region's butterfly Pokémon as much as this since Beautifly.

blue June 11th, 2013 6:50 AM

At a first glance I thought Vivilion was Bug/Fairy type! But yeah I really do like these two Pokemon already, what a good set of Pokemon we've got already!

Belldandy June 11th, 2013 6:54 AM

Vivillon is sooo cuuuteee and I'm on the same page as Aerilyn. I've loved Butterfree and Beautifly, but nothing since. This will make a good addition to my cute team :3

srinator June 11th, 2013 6:58 AM

http://www.pokemonxy.com/en-us/pokemon/other_pokemon/ this site has everything about the new pokemons

i am thinking about how fairy types are super effective against dragons O.o

also , helioptile looks like a pre-evolution of mawile although it makes no sense :P

ilias_ June 11th, 2013 6:59 AM

I LOVE Noivern. It is so awesome. I still want another Dragon Pokemon tho. Vivillon is cute :)

Noivern looks like it has a boom box on its head for crying out loud... They are rubbing that Sound type in -_-

Archeops12354 June 11th, 2013 7:23 AM

NOIVERN, YOU WILL BE MINE.
VIVILLION, YOU WILL BE MINE ALSO.
HECK, ALL OF THEM WILL BE MINE.

You know, gen 6 is the first Pokemon gen where I like every single Pokemon introduced.
Big friggin' achievement!

blue June 11th, 2013 7:25 AM

"Vivillon is said to evolve from a Pokémon called Spewpa. No details on this Pokémon have been revealed yet" - Serebii.

reshilegend June 11th, 2013 7:25 AM

Noivern's German name is UHaFnir. Yes, exactly like that. o_o
Maybe a pun with Ultra High Frequency?

Also, the German site revealed the name of Vivillon's pre evo. It will be called Puponcho
Edit: (Spewpa in English)

I like the designs! Noivern looks like a Swoobat evo. Also, that new attack it will learn sounds impressive.

ME Too I was thinking of that!

Princess Diana June 11th, 2013 7:32 AM

Noivern is awesome! I love how it looks like it has two faces; it's obvious one and then it's ears (as eyes) and it's nose thing (as a mouth)

MarinoKadame June 11th, 2013 7:39 AM

Spewpa = Pupa

I can see his worm form being green.

PlatinumDude June 11th, 2013 7:46 AM

I like Noivern. It looks too cool not to be used on my team, even if it turns out to be the regional bat.

Keromatsu June 11th, 2013 7:49 AM

Noivern = NOISE! Because Noi(se)vern
This Pokemon Will most likely have The Move "Hyper Voice"

Noise + Wyvern is my guess. Like these things from Monster Hunter:
http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121228163057/monsterhunternews/de/images/e/e3/Tigrex.png

Palkia June 11th, 2013 7:56 AM

Noiverom looks stupid and ugly and I hate it. Only good this is that it's charater shape reminds me of the Tigrex from the monster hunter games.

Vivillon has a pretty good design (I dig those disco eyes) but It's a Bug/Flying type, which completely ruins it for me. It really should have been a Fairy/Bug type to at least make it interesting in battle.

blue June 11th, 2013 7:59 AM

Noivern reminds me of Loudred... I wonder if theres any connection?

CloysterOyster June 11th, 2013 8:02 AM

Now we have 662 Pokémon to contend with. {:3}

Have we had a butterfly since Beautifly? :P

I don't mind Vivilion, but it has nothing on Butterfree unfortunately.

Noivern just looks horrible, but at least it isn't the worst design ever.

Noivern looks way too detailed already to evolve again.....I can definitely see it having a pre evolved form though. Maybe even two prevolved forms.

TheBigMan0706 June 11th, 2013 8:20 AM

Why is Noivern a flying/dragon type? To me, it looks like a flying/dark type. He almost reminds me of the monster Nargacuga from Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

Noivern reminds me of those dragon things from the 2007 movie "The Mist"

I'm serious about the Nargacuga thing. Noivern has Narg's wings, scale color, tail and beak. Do an image search of Nargacuga

Now were these posted anywhere BEFORE the pokemon.com update?

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire June 11th, 2013 8:48 AM

The Wyvern is certainly a unique take on Dragon/Flying type Pokémon designs. Noivern seems like a single stage pokemon to me, so I'm not expecting much on terms of evolutions.

alexithymia June 11th, 2013 8:53 AM

I'm normally not into bug type Pokemon, but Vivillon looks awesome! Noivern is okay... I'm interested to see whether or not its a single stage Pokemon.

Esper June 11th, 2013 9:01 AM

Oh! I wouldn't have thought they could do another butterfly/moth and make it look interesting and new, but they have! I wonder what will set it apart from the others though, since it's going to be Bug/Flying like Butterfree and Beautifly.

Legendary Silke June 11th, 2013 9:11 AM

OK, so we have Noivern and Vivilion. They both are... well, cute in a way. Vivilion more so. Sad to see them being generic-type-combinations, but I guess I might still end up taking Noivern in if he's any good. Noivern seems to be my type of dragon, so to speak. :D

I also kind of want to see what came before them, too.

iRyahn June 11th, 2013 9:18 AM

Vivillion looks cute, but sadly it's typing ruins it for me so I won't ever use it.

Noivern on the other hand may be the very first Dragon I use in a play through. I literally hate almost every Dragon's design (except Flygon.) I'm excited to use it, no matter what.

tnfsf11 June 11th, 2013 9:22 AM

I believe they look... meh. But I'm sure they'll grow on me, just like the starters :P
Vivillon is very generic, they couldn't come up with a better animal to draw??? It should be Bug/Psychic imo

F1refly June 11th, 2013 9:44 AM

And on the last day, Arceus created Vivillion and Noivern, and saw that it was good.

Rivvon June 11th, 2013 9:47 AM

I love them both! Noivern looks extremely awesome in-game and Vivillon's art is so cute! I hope Vivillon is a more useable Bug-type so I can keep one on my team!

billyjoseph June 11th, 2013 9:49 AM

I'm loving Noivern! As for the butterfly I think its one of the weakest looking butterfly/moth pokemon.

RoreyG June 11th, 2013 10:01 AM

Noivern looks pretty damn cool. It looks like it could pass for an alternate evolution of Golbat (I dunno, trade Golbat with a Dragon Scale, level up whist holding a Dragon Fang). The only reason I say this is because its description speaks to bats and its got the Zubat family color scheme.

Vivilion, on the other hand, seems less than impressive. Another Butterfree rehash is a bit disappointing, especially when you consider how much the last two generations have added to make Bug types a legitimate force.

I've gotta be honest here, I'm a little skeptical about what we've seen so far for Pokemon in Gen 6. It's taken me a while to get used to Sylveon and I'm still trying to wrap my head around Mewtwo's new form. I want to like the Starters and Route 1 Pokemon, but I'm going to reserve judgement for until I see their evolutions and what they're capable of. The only Gen 6 Pokemon that I've immediately taken a liking to is Xerneas, Yveltal, Gogoat, and now Noivern.

JayTheKing June 11th, 2013 10:57 AM

I love both.At first i thought vivilion was going to be a fairy.
Noivern sounds like it is a mix of the word Noir(black) and wyvern.
He might be the pseudo legendary dragon of this generation

Bluerang1 June 11th, 2013 11:12 AM

Dang they missed it on Sound type with Noivyen.

Nakuzami June 11th, 2013 11:15 AM

I love the way Noivern looks. He's just plain awesome. ;3

And Vivilion is adorable. I can take another cutesy butterfly for the generic bug type of the region.

Yeah, no complaints here. I actually can't wait to get my hands on a Noivern, now! ;D

Iceshadow3317 June 11th, 2013 11:55 AM

Omg..... I thought Noivern's eyes were the things on its head..... Now it even looks even better.

jov0006 June 11th, 2013 2:03 PM

Noivern the next Pseudo-Legendary?

Noivern (based off a Wyvern) has already shown features of Deino, with it attacking anything that gets to close so that left me wondering whether Noivern might be the first-evo of the next pseudo-legend. I shook my head when I saw the Flying/Dragon type though, what's your opinion?

ToWriteLove June 11th, 2013 2:11 PM

It looks fully evolved to me personally. Wish it would've been dragon/poison though....

ToWriteLove June 11th, 2013 2:13 PM

Wish he would've been dragon/poison personally, but all of the gen 6 pokemon so far have still been a big hit for me, which is saying a lot since I wasn't a big fan of the two past gens. ^^ (obviously I like some from gen 4/5, just not the majority, not a flat out hater)

SnowpointQuincy June 11th, 2013 3:13 PM

Noivern looks awesome, but kills any hope of a sound type. If a BOOMBOX for a head isn't a Sound type - NOTHING IS.

Is there an ability that increases the damage of "sound like" moves? Soundproof already exists.

Imagine an ability named, "Soprano" that increased "sound" damage by 50%. It would almost be like having a real sound type pokemon.

F13rC Pulse June 11th, 2013 3:25 PM

I like Noivern's appearance, but had higher hopes for that now common Dragon and Flying combination to not continue.
Looks impressive ingame, boasting its new move Boom Burst.

Powerserge June 11th, 2013 3:36 PM

I like both of them, actually. Vivilion looks so...digital, doesn't it? Definitely a cool design for the eyes and wings.

Noivern man.....I freakin' love wyverns in fiction, and now we have a wyvern in the Pokemon world! A wyvern that can blast your favorite tunes wherever you are! It can join Exploud as my Block Party Pokemon.

Free iPod :)

Instead of being used for battle, all it does is play the battle theme while your other pokemon take the punches!

Treecko June 11th, 2013 4:03 PM

Vivilion is really cool looking and I wouldn't be surprised if it's the final evo of Kalo's generic bug cause it's a butterfly. But it's really cute.

Noivern's pretty cool , but it took me a while to figure out those green things weren't it's eyes. O.e I'm assuming it's based off a fruit bat cause it loves and it uses ultrasonic waves to fly through the night. It's pretty cool too imo.

Raczack June 11th, 2013 4:13 PM

I am personally hoping for it to be a moderately weaker dragon of sorts. One to crop up early into the game enough that I can enjoy its presence through my play through instead of just a sighting in the final areas.

billyjoseph June 11th, 2013 4:22 PM

I dont think its related to either...

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire June 11th, 2013 4:39 PM

I see it as a one liner like Druddigon. Also maybe a middle (after fifth gym) to ending middle (seventh gym)

iRyahn June 11th, 2013 4:42 PM

I think it would be much cooler if it was our version of the 'early bat' and not a pseudo-legendary. I don't like pseudo-legendaries because they are usually caught right before the E4 or sometimes even after. I don't see much point in such a late game pokemon. Wouldn't it be so cool if it's pre-evolution was something crappy like Zubat and then it turned into Noivern? :O

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire June 11th, 2013 4:58 PM

Noivern seems like a mix of a fruit bat, a wyvern, and a boom box, another interesting take on sound based Pokémon, just like Exploud it's rather unique.

SnowpointQuincy June 11th, 2013 6:29 PM

The great thing about making Dragon weaker is that we can have more of them. I hope this is the normal bat pokemon. I want this early.

Mr. Magius June 11th, 2013 6:56 PM

I think Noivern looks pretty beast. A cross between a bat and dragon, a cool name, weird ears on top of its head, a big majestic mane...I think I'm definitely getting this on my team.

As for Vivillon, I don't think it's anything special. It has weird looking eyes, weird blocky wings--kinda looks like something I saw in Super Paper Mario. Plus, I can see that Game Freak is going with the French theme again, seeing as butterfly is "papillon" in French. Strangely, then it would be pronounced "viviyaw"...

Nakuzami June 11th, 2013 7:15 PM

Since this is already a thread about new pokemon, might we want to discuss the three that were revealed a little while ago as well?

Talonflame

Clauncher

Skrelp

I've already said Noivern looks awesome, and the more I look at him, the more apparent that becomes. I'm actually quite excited to try him out.

Talonflame looks like a Fletchling evo, which is awesome, and Talonflame looks beast, so, yeah, go Talonflame! I think it's a bit awkward that his name is literally just two words mashed together like that, though. :L

Clauncher and Skrelp are certainly interesting, to say the least. I like their designs, though. So far this generation has some promise to the Pokemon. d;

Iceshadow3317 June 11th, 2013 7:18 PM

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Talonflame!!! Man I can't even say how much I love it. And Talonflame has been confirmed, by serebii at least, that it is the evo form of Fletchling.

I do like that we finally have a lobster as well. I really hope this means we will be getting a Dolphan pokemon as well.

Belldandy June 11th, 2013 8:32 PM

Someone mentioned earlier where the name "Vivillon" derives from. Definitely "papillon", as he/she said, but it's also from French "vif" or better yet, its feminine form "vive" which means "vivid" in English. Couple that with "papillon" (butterfly) and it describes this new Pokemon very well: the vivid[ly-coloured] butterfly.

"Vif" or "vive" can also mean healthful or "full of life," but we won't complicate things.

:3

PlatinumDude June 11th, 2013 8:40 PM

I like Talonflame, though the type change from Fletchling's Normal/Flying surprised me. If I don't choose Fennekin as my starter, then Talonflame at least makes a good Fire alternative. I like Clauncher better than Skrelp; pistol shrimps are cool.

BraveNewWorld June 11th, 2013 8:48 PM

I have to say I'm truly liking all of these Pokemon aesthetically.

metalhand June 11th, 2013 8:48 PM

talonflame's type is fire/flying-so its the first regional bird without normal/flying typing.
finally they stop with the normal/flying tradition.
i like this generetion-it seems that gamefreak stop stick to the old formula and trying new things.

really like all i see from x and y, can't wait to the moment the games are released

Creame June 11th, 2013 8:51 PM

Oh my! I love Vivillon!! Why can't it be October just yet!?

Astinus June 11th, 2013 9:09 PM

Noivern is incredible and I like it! It took a while for me to remember that the speaker-looking things are its ears and not its eyes. For a short time, I kind of pictured it making the ":>" face. But now that I've seen the official art for it, it's easy to see its eyes.

Vivilion will take a while for me to get used to. Butterflies scare me in real life. Vivilion is adorable, though, and I'm sure I'll get used to it. (Butterfree is one of my favorite Pokemon, so...)

As for the other three, Talonflame is amazing. If I wasn't leaning towards Fennekin as my starter, Talonflame would be my choice for a Fire-type to try. I love the design and its typing, especially for being the evolution of the region bird.

Clauncher is a little adorable grumpy-face and Skrelp is...Skrelp. I'm not sure what to make of that one yet.

Livewire June 11th, 2013 9:19 PM

I reeaaaaaaaaallly like talonflame and Noivern, like damn, those are cool. But they're all awesome, I can't remember the last time I loved all the new ones revealed right off the bat.

Is this real if it is I will edit it into the Post

Miss Anne Thrope June 11th, 2013 9:24 PM

They introduce a new type, a butterfly Pokemon that looks it could be said type, but it isn't. It's just a typical Flying/Bug, probably with bad stats. I am disappoint.

When I saw the new dragon from far away, it just looked like a pure bat.. I was excited. I was thinking it'd be Poison. But nope, it's a Dragon.

I'm indifferent to most the newly introduced designs this Gen (so far.) I hope they introduce the rest of the Pokemon soon.. Seems like they should have.

cute batuplai ish cute. :3

and the new bat-dragon-thing is looking awesome. :D
though i am quite surprised that his type 1 is flying and type 2 is dragon, instead of the usual Dragon/Flying thingy... :3

I don't like Talonflame's...name. =/

Keromatsu June 11th, 2013 10:02 PM

My favourite is Clauncher it looks SOO COOL!

Latios Master June 11th, 2013 10:03 PM

I think Noivern is the best Pokémon revealed so far from gen 6. It looks very cool. I'm a bit surprised that it's part Dragon-type, but I like it. Fennekin and Noivern are the two Pokémon that have been revealed so far that I plan on using on my team. I don't really like any of the other ones that were revealed.

But... Skrelp is the pistol shrimp... Clauncher is the crab...

Skrelp is a seahorse, Clauncher is based on the pistol shrimp, a crustacean.

Zorogami June 12th, 2013 12:06 AM

Clauncher looks really cute, i like him better than the grouchy Skrelp
Noivern though has to be my favorite so far, awesome design!!

So far I've been pretty content with the sixth generation of Pokemon, but unfortunately GF have ruined their winning streak with Talonflame, Skrelp and perhaps Clauncher. I don't overly love all of the new Pokemon - with Helioptile being my favourite despite it being relatively older.

Noivern I quite like. There's a few things I dislike but for the most part, it's a pretty cool-looking Pokemon. Who knows, it might end up on my team!

Vivillon is an interesting Pokemon. I like it and yet at the same time I don't. What I do like about it though, the most, is its 'secret in its wings' concept. I've been looking quite closely at the pattern of the top half of its wings and to me, it looks like a section of a double helix. With the sequence of red and blue rectangles/squares representing the sugar(deoxyribose)-phosphate back bone of your typical RNA strand. Perhaps its involved in the storyline, considering the games are predicted to be based around genetics?

Just food for thought.

I want to see the Fossil pokemons and i hope for a Trio, a Standalone Fossil like Aerodactyl and 2 Fossil with 1 evolution. But these new pokemons looks awesome, can't wait how the Worm and Pupa look for Vivillion.

Kotowari June 12th, 2013 1:08 AM

I'm actually pretty happy with the new Pokémon revealed. Can't say I'm a fan of all of them, but I really do like Talonflame (it's name is just a bit... In your face?). I had already plans of adding Fledgling to my team, and it's evolution just made that even more certain. I wonder if it's the final evolution or if there's another one coming?
Noivern looks cool. :'D Wyvern x Bat cross-over ftw. |D As many in this tread I really hope it's an early/half-way Pokémon, and not one you can catch moments before the final gym. Kind of would ruin the experience around this creature.

CliCliW June 12th, 2013 1:11 AM

Vivillion is so pretty!! I love it!

It actually took me ages to realise it, but Noivern's eyes actually aren't the ear bits. He kinda has a Swoobat thing going on imo, but they're not related in any way I think. I love everything about Talonflame except the name. They could have come up with something better for the name really, it sounds way too....... American and Fakemonish?

Your taste in Pokemon intrigues me. But that's your opinion so.

Personally I think Talonflame is beastly looking and definitely my favorite. I mean look. at it.

I wasn't planning to get a Fletchling but I think it's new evo has impressed me enough to use it.

All the new Pokemon revealed so far are really impressive to me so far. Out of the ones revealed today,I love Talonflame the most. It's name's a bit odd, but then I'm reminded of less creative names we've had in the past like, Seel for example. It's literally a seal Pokemon named Seel. All they did was changed the "A" to and "E'. Not creative if you ask me.

Sklerp and Clauncher are interesting too. Clauncher's neat cause there's finally a shrimp Pokemon and it looks some what like a mantis shrimp to me but that could just be me. Lol Sklerp is like a combo of a sea horse and seaweed. Really good job on Gamefreak's behalf so far. Gen VI Pokemon seem to look much better than Gen V ones so far.

Hmmm, at first glance, I was kinda meh about this set. But now, I actually quite like their designs for the most part. I really like the pixel-like motif on Vivillon; it's really neat-looking (it also reminds me of Tippi from Super Paper Mario because Pixl).

Noivern seemed strange to me when I first saw a small picture. I thought the speaker things were its eyes until I took a closer look (kinda like seeing Masquerain for the first time through its sprite). Now, I think it has its charm. ^-^ I also thought about Noizoids based on its name and looks (from GameFreak's HarmoKnight).

Skrelp is interesting. It looks sickly, like a kelp in toxic waters. I like its mimicry, and I wonder if that can somehow come into play within game mechanics. I'm guessing it can learn Mimic, kind of like Sudowoodo.

Clauncher is probably my favorite of this set. It has its own kind of adorableness that appeals to me, haha! ^-^ My first thought was blue Venipede Zoidberg.

Talonflame has a rare type combo that seems to attract quite a few people into training a Fletchling. It's pretty cool, but I really don't like the name. :/ It's basically one of those names you see in fantasy stories that are literally two words next to each other. Maybe the "n" should be omitted? Well, what do I know; I'm pretty horrible with names myself. >_<

CloysterOyster June 12th, 2013 2:18 AM

Wow, I saw this thread yesterday and it only had Noivern and Vivillon and I come back today and there are 3 more new ones. More work for me making Facebook pages of all these new ones. :P

Sabrewulf238 June 12th, 2013 2:52 AM

Overall I like the new pokemon, although I think Noivern is my least favourite of the five new pokemon. The wing hands looked awkward on Reshiram and they still look awkward on Noivern. I'll grow to tolerate him though I'm sure.

My potential team is starting to take shape. I'm already considering Fennekin and Helioptile....and I like the look of Clauncher for my water type. (it could be Skrelp either depending on it's evo)

SnowpointQuincy June 12th, 2013 3:12 AM

I'm starting to fear that Vivilion "secret wings" are just Spinda Spots. Each Vivilion will look unique. The big, colored winds would be a good canvas for such change.

However, it would be disappointing as a "secret".

Tetrakeet June 12th, 2013 6:59 AM

Vivillon is super cute I'm sold! ♥_ The others... *waves hand dismissively*

ilias_ June 12th, 2013 9:56 AM

Talonflame is just amazing, in my opinion. Sklerp is a poison type and I won't even catch it lol and Clauncher is such a bad little guy lol. GF did a good job with the new Pokemon

blue June 12th, 2013 10:00 AM

I have a feeling that Sklerp and Clauncher will be paired to eachother, meaning that in order to evolve them you need to trade them with one another similarly to Shelmet and Karrablast.

or19937 June 12th, 2013 12:18 PM

I'm very impressed with the new Pokemon designs so far, even with ugly-ass Sklerp o-o''.

Concerning Noivern, it's very cool that they made a dragon type bat Pokemon(leaf nosed bat to be exact). The genus needed it.
Also, the Wyvern reference takes the dragon type to a more morbid place, rather than taking the usual route of the classic depiction of a majestic and mighty dragon.

Vivilion is also really cool design-wise, but I think it's kind of unnecessary since Butterfree will always be a favorite, and there's also Venomoth in the color group.

Talonflame looks unsusually intense for an evolution of the normal/flying type that you(supposedly) encounter very early in the game. I LOVE IT.

So far it seems that the infamous tradition of slow gameplay in Pokemon games will be more bearable, now that we actually have so much awesome stuff to look up for.
I truely believe this game is a serious leap in the Pokemon handheld game series, one that we haven't witnessed since the transition from G/S/C to R/S/E.

I'm so stoked that I actually ordered a Pikachu Edition 3DSXL, just to sort of commemorate the great progress that this franchise has made with this game.

Just to be clear, i'm not going one hundred percent fanatic here.
There are still lots of unanswered demands from Nintendo concerning the Pokemon games in general. I'm just very grateful for this one treat they gave us :)

Killjoy June 12th, 2013 5:08 PM

Love Talonflame!!

Though the name sounds like a 10 year old coined it. Talonflame was literally the name of a fakemon we made back when my friends and I were ten..

TreeKangaroo June 12th, 2013 5:40 PM

Oh wow this is probably the first time I'll be using the regional bird Pokemon! Talonflame looks bad-ass. Like Yveltal.

curiousnathan June 12th, 2013 6:20 PM

I love its pattern, but Talonflame's head for me, looks incredibly odd.

bashau June 12th, 2013 7:21 PM

Noivern better be evolution of swoobat (even though i know it won't)

Rai June 12th, 2013 8:27 PM

I literally gasped when I saw both Vivillon and Noivern. They are both EPIC!

Why? Because I love butterflies and pink is one of my favorite colors. Plus, its wings are gorgeous. As for Noivern, bats are one of my favorite animals and it just looks badass :D

Now I am even more excited for the new game ^^

pedrito3_poke June 12th, 2013 8:29 PM

I just hope that Clauncher will have a badass paralyzing move like real pistol shrimps:

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire June 12th, 2013 8:43 PM

They should at least give it electric moves like how Wiscash can get spark despite not being part electric. Or it should evolve into a Water/Electric Pokemon.

Naikado June 12th, 2013 9:16 PM

Talonflame sounds like it came from an angsty 11 year old's fanfiction. Maybe this is all a clever ploy to get us to use the nicknaming system more?

Hikamaru June 12th, 2013 9:31 PM

These Pokemon are all looking cool, especially Noivern and Vivillon. Noivern is so badass, it's like a bat with speakers for ears, which does sorta remind me of Loudred back from 3rd Generation. But still I love how great the fanart of this thing is.

Vivillon is definitely my fave of the butterflies now, pink and with a super-cute face! I've never fangirled over a Bug-type so much since Yanmega in 4th Gen. Clauncher and Skrelp look pretty good too, and I like how Skrelp is based on one of my fave sea creatures, the weedy sea dragon. Clauncher also looks like a good potential Pokemon to use should I not pick Froakie (but I have to have that little frog lol) and I've never liked crustaceans a lot until now. Maybe it's cos it's a blue shrimp hahaha.

Talonflame's name is pretty lame though, that'd be something a little kid can easily come up with. But still good design nonetheless, especially the pattern of flames on its wings.

SnowpointQuincy June 13th, 2013 2:25 AM

DAYUM! Whatch that video about Pistol Shrimp.

The PISTOL part is LITERAL. They Create IMPLOSIONS with their tiny claw. It is enough to stun their prey.

THAT IS PURE POKEMON!

gimmepie June 13th, 2013 6:08 AM

Kingdra is pretty badass for memory though, and has an awesome typing. I don't see Skrelp nor anything it evolves into (if anything) being a match for Kingdra.
