That's true. What about a Pokemon spinoff aimed at a higher age group, though? A more realistic, creepy version. They do manage to fit some odd stuff in as it is.

Like Shedinja's Pokedex entry that mentions it stealing your soul. I never bothered to find it myself, but doesn't a woman in B/W tell you about a rumor involving Kyurem eating people? :D

Honest June 27th, 2013 7:05 PM

Hmmm, you do have a point there. A spinoff would be pretty neat, but it'd be a really bold move to take at all.

hai guyz im bak

I see a new hack in the making: Pokemon DCC Version (not really)
Every time someone mentions a more mature version of Pokemon I always have the thought of a mix between Pokemon and Grand Theft Auto in my head haha. But yeah, a more mature Pokemon game would be great if Nintendo didn't have a problem with stepping outside of their comfort zone.

droomph June 27th, 2013 8:33 PM

hai de

also it could be a possibility

like Pokémon Snakewood with the whole "zombie" detail (i've never played it :P but I heard it's a little more "mature")

But I think that's for indie or other third-party developers. They're not too keen on wasting time on side projects, because in addition to having to make a new game, they also have to design (intricately) about 150 new characters every time, story and all (Yamask stole a child's face, etc.), something that most game designing groups don't have to do.

They've created ~150 new Pokemon 6 times already. You'd think they'd be running out of ideas by now.

Welllll maybe if it was one person.

But with many people, creativity is endless. there is approximately xn!/s ideas in a room. Variables: x - how many people are in the room. n - how many thoughts a person has in a day. s - how many of those thoughts are about sex.

okay I totally made that up but you probably know what I mean. And if you don't…well ****

and also

Kanzler June 27th, 2013 8:57 PM

Yeah, but it sucks when everything becomes derivative. And you fail to get truly wowwing ideas. It's one thing to come up with unlimited ideas, but they still have to impress.

I had to read that twice haha.

I guess they could keep coming up with ideas, but it would only be so long before they start losing creativity and/or creating Pokemon that are extremely similar to already existing Pokemon.

I thought Trubbish was a complete lack of creativity, for example. They probably said, "Quick! Think of an idea for a Pokemon!" *employee sees a garbage bag in the corner* "Um...how about a garbage Pokemon?" "GENIUS! We're putting that in the game!"

Kanzler June 27th, 2013 9:02 PM

I liked Trubbish though. And Garbodor was so outrageously ugly that it grew on me.

not disagreeing with you, but here's another little cool Oatmeal comic explaining why that can be avoided :P (sorry but I'm not an expert on creativity so he'll have to do the explainin')

lol in all honesty though, as long as you don't hate them I'm okay with you :P

Kanzler June 27th, 2013 9:14 PM

I like Talonflame, it's a peregrine falcon! Falcons are different to me than other birds of prey and have a speshal place in my heart. And we don't have many fire-flying types so yeah there's that too. Chespin is pretty cool too because there's a row of chestnut trees on a road near my home, so now it'll remind me of that. And it's about time we got a wyvern pokemon, though I think Noivern is too bat-like and derivative of the Woobat family with its nose and fur. Pancham is great. The only other panda we had was Spinda bleugh

A tangent on wyverns: I don't like it when they're portrayed like armless dragons. I'd much rather they had a body shape that suited their large wings, so much that they look more like reptilian birds.

Sir Codin June 27th, 2013 9:14 PM

My idea on gameplay would be sort of like character classes and how they affect a Pokemon's growth. I think someone actually made a Pokemon tabletop RPG based around this, it might be interesting to see it used in a game.

As for 6th Gen, some of the new Pokemon have yet to grow on me. I do like Talonflame, though.

Powerserge June 27th, 2013 9:19 PM

Chestnut trees smell like.....hmmm...nevermind.

I love all of Gen VI so far, pretty much! I'm really pleased with that, cause usually it's the other way around during the early reveal phase of the other Gens.

Shining Raichu June 28th, 2013 3:53 AM

Isn't the point of CCP that we talk about anything but Pokemon? :P

Treecko June 28th, 2013 4:02 AM

This IS a Pokemon forums so shouldn't that be expected to happen at least once? lol

Kura June 28th, 2013 4:37 AM

Are you suggesting you don't want to talk about pokemon, Andy?
I don't mind either way! Honestly, though I prefer no spoilers as much as possible before the games come out (though that's quite difficult seeing as.. well this is a pokemon forum.) But talking about gameplay and strategies and what we would change can be quite interesting :3

Also.. *omnomnom.. crackers* :3

Shining Raichu June 28th, 2013 4:41 AM

I'm not suggesting anything, we can talk about whatever we want, I just found it funny that we're talking about Pokemon in an off-topic section and thought I'd make comment lol

Honest June 28th, 2013 7:44 AM

Yay for not being fickle!

And it's kinda funny, I guess, that we're talking about Pokemon, but dat don't matta~

Sableye~ June 28th, 2013 8:40 AM

I already don't like several Gen VI Pokemon- heck, with starters, I just have to go with the one I dislike the least. Fennekin's head is oddly large and why does Froakie have a mustache? I:

Talonflame is pretty cool, though. And isn't Pancham's evolution Dark/Fighting, or am I remembering that incorrectly? I generally don't like Fighting-types, but if it's Dark/Fighting, then I might make an exception.

And of course Yveltal. {: The only reason why I plan on getting Y version.

I'm with Dipu. No idea what you're referring to. Then again, I never actually leave the rock I live under, so I don't know a lot of what's going on. My rock gets internet, though, so I know what online stuff is happening. {:

@Dipu
I'm listening to Rise now and at #6. I'm pretty sure I lost some brain cells to #3 and #5. D: And I think this song is near that point, as well haha. And is it just me, or does this album force religion at you much more than the previous ones? I mean, there have always been references here and there, but not this obvious!

Kanzler June 28th, 2013 7:03 PM

There's some corruption scandal that the PM claims he didn't know about, but he's resigning because there's a coalition government and he lost support. I don't think it's that interesting, especially because I don't know anybody Czech :P Actually I do but she's a 1/8 or a 1/4 or maybe not at all but mostly German anyways XD

Sir Codin June 28th, 2013 7:47 PM

Yeah, gonna need more than that to go on before making a comment on the situation, but when it comes to government, "corruption scandal" sounds too depressingly common these days.

Honest June 28th, 2013 7:48 PM

Government scandals these days. What life would be like perfectly, ever wondered?

And Jess, I don't think Skillet's new album (for those lost) really does. It is a concept album though.

Ohh, why they're moogles from Final Fantasy! And me having to tell you means that you haven't played them yet! So task #1, play some Final Fantasy. LOL your new sig is great.

I changed my theme to Talonflame and Fletchling because I saw the Ken Sugimori art and had the idea of getting the legs moving cuz it would look sooo stupid XD also haiku about Talonflame. Ohh, and credits to droomph for the sig.

idk though

Kanzler June 28th, 2013 9:59 PM

There's ice cream made from milk, and then there's "frozen dairy dessert", or "frozen dessert", which is not ice cream. If it is ice cream, they'll put it on the packaging in capital letters ICE CREAM. If not, they're misleading the consumer because they don't have enough milk and cream to be considered ice cream. They're made instead with corn syrup and plant resins.

So characters from Final Fantasy made appearances in Kingdom Hearts because the parent company worked on the games, although the FF characters had different roles in KH than they did in their original games. I just finished the little bit of a gallon of ice cream (or frozen dessert, as I didn't pay attention to the packaging) I bought a few weeks ago. Vanilla ice cream with cinnamon swirls and white chocolate chips, topped off with marshmallow sauce. And slightly warmed in the microwave because I enjoy melted ice cream much more than frozen.

As for my perfect day, it would just be a day like today. I got to spend time with my dog, being outside and having fun. To end it, I'm doing what I like to do to pass the time: watch videos and play video games.

I'm not sure what I'd consider a perfect life. I do know that a good start to one would be having enough money not to worry about things, but still being able to work to keep me out of the house. But much like I'm one of those strange people who like melted ice cream, I'm also one of those strange people that enjoy working.

Not gonna lie I imagine Australia to be like... ULTRA SUPER PERFECT SUMMER ALL DAY EVERY DAY. Which I know is totally wrong, but idk haha. That's just the impression I get from how people talk about Australia... despite the fact that I only know a few Australians in real life.

But then, the world still seems to think that if you live in England you talk like the Queen, so *shrug*.

Honest June 29th, 2013 7:04 AM

Nihilego June 29th, 2013 7:10 AM

Most people in this country don't even have much interest in the Royal Family at all, or outright dislike them, haha. The reality of it is that they seem to do so little that a lot of us wonder why we even have them any more.

droomph June 29th, 2013 8:38 AM

Tsutarja June 29th, 2013 9:16 AM

Dipu. Throughout last night and today, I've been repeatedly listening to the same two songs off Rise. This is your fault haha. D; Also, go find the lyric video for Rise (the song, not the album). Near the end, there are these creatures and they look just like Slenderman. <3 (As in, the creature. Not me.) The video itself is pretty stupid, though, in my opinion.

Tsutarja June 29th, 2013 12:53 PM

My mother hates Gordon Ramsey, probably because of how she sees his attitude. I for one am neutral on him, but with him having 3 chef shows on FOX here in the states and probably many more in England, he's got to be a skilled chef and definitely knows what he's doing.

I have to agree about the videos, but Not Gonna Die's video just seems so stereotypical to me. A lion. Really. Way to be unoriginal haha. And some of the album's songs...just...no. Less than 30 seconds into him singing one song, I actually facepalmed. x;

However, at another forum I've been a member of for almost 5 years ive accumulated over 8000 posts.. (most of which were within the first 3 years of me being a member)

I tend to rack up posts like crazy because I rarely just lurk, and I'm always on a computer for "work", hah.

Meh, I'll eventually join you guys up there.

Yes, yes you will. Especially if you're in this insane asylum known as the DCC.

But remember, just because you have less post than some, it doesn't mean that you're below them :)

And Mac, fresh meat, huh? Do you consider me as fresh meat? *wink* *wink*

Nah, you're a bit old now at this point.

Tsutarja June 30th, 2013 5:04 PM

I have lurked around on PC every now and then since I joined, but ever since this year I've begun posting nearly on a daily basis.

Hey, look at it this way. About 3000 to 4000 of my posts are DCC shenanigans and the other 1,500 are really short pointless posts.

So in reality, I'm just a post farmer. :3

Starry Windy June 30th, 2013 5:22 PM

Speaking of posts, recently I'm feeling that I'm driven to posting again that I've reaching over 1,000 posts some days ago.

Honest June 30th, 2013 5:27 PM

I remember me before my absence back in 2011. I think I posted one a week. I spent all my time VMing people. Now, it's the complete opposite. o_o

At the rate I'm posting at right now, I could certainly hit my thousandth post by the end of August, or earlier if I speed up on posting :p

However, I feel that my posting habits will probably definitely speed up at the time of the Get-together, considering how quite a lot is going to be going on during those 4 days next weekend ^^

Cordelia June 30th, 2013 5:34 PM

Honestly, I've posted over 2000 posts this year already... maybe more.

droomph June 30th, 2013 7:33 PM

You were at 900 when you were Mac of bYörk iirc so that makes ~3,500?

Still not as good as me *snoot* lol idek

also when mac jr. turns 12 sign him up for PC so we can all see the teenage years :p "DAD OMG UR SOOOO ANNOYING" "I know but I'm super moderator so deal wit it"

Treecko June 30th, 2013 7:42 PM

I've went from 1200 in January to like 2453 in like 5/6 months. I had 1666 posts back in March and 2000 by the time April came around. Oh wow, I've been posting way more than I used too.

alisaie June 30th, 2013 7:44 PM

I don't really keep track of my post count as I don't even have post count on in my postbit. Thus I don't know how much I've posted since x date

Honest June 30th, 2013 7:47 PM

I think it's kind of cool that you have 5k+ when you moderate a section that doesn't even count posts. =P Shows diversity!

Black Ice July 1st, 2013 1:27 AM

i've been sitting in the 500s for a few years.

Tsutarja July 1st, 2013 2:17 AM

At the start of the year, I was hovering in the 200s or 300s for my post count, and I had been in that area for roughly a year... now I'm close to 800

Woah, I'm not alone.
My dream made it seem pretty cool. There were three save files- one for each starter.

That actually seems like a good idea, in my opinion. I doubt they'd go for more than one file, though, otherwise more than one person could use the same game. It would be interesting for two people to battle each other using the same game system.

How would two people battling with the same game system be possible?

Also, I'm having a hard time explaining how and where to get the HG/SS legendaries to my younger cousin. I mean, I already beat the games, but he hasn't played the games in a while.

Sanguine July 1st, 2013 7:14 AM

Aww, I want X and Y, but I cannot be bothered to buy a 3DS.

Sableye~ July 1st, 2013 7:19 AM

I imagine it'd be similar to how two people can play against each other on a playstation/wii/whatever. It'd be pretty difficult to see stuff, though, considering how small everything would be.

I don't want to be a 3DS either. Especially because Pokemon is (mostly) the only video game I play anymore. D: Hoping that I'll actually like X/Y versions, considering I'm not a fan of Unova.
I still think they should add in an item similar to Repel, but it just repels non-shiny Pokemon. I would totally waste hours and hours using it to look for shiny Pokemon. .-.

You do realize that X/Y will be on the 3DS, right? If you don't have a 3DS, you can't play those games.

Doesn't the Shiny Charm in Black 2/White 2 make finding shinies somewhat easier?

Sanguine July 1st, 2013 7:26 AM

Woah, you just made me realise that too. I only every play pokémon :(

I need to broaden mah horizons, I guess. Too bad that I don't know any other good DS games ._.

Sableye~ July 1st, 2013 7:49 AM

I'm aware- I was just remarking that my 3DS will only be used for X/Y. D:

I don't mind not playing many video games. At least now I don't waste even more time on it.
