Pokémon games are pretty much the only games I've been buying nowadays. I occasionally get Mario games, though.

Anyway, I'll mess with my Black 2's Join Avenue, then head off to bed. 'Night, everyone.

Sanguine July 1st, 2013 7:56 AM

oooh, I should try Mario. Not sure which is the best, though :3

G'night, Platinum ^-^

Tsutarja July 1st, 2013 8:00 AM

Like PlatinumDude, I bother just playing Pokémon games these days and nothing more. Though for some odd reason, that makes it feel like I'm blowing money on games for nothing >_<

Kanzler July 1st, 2013 8:16 AM

I feel the same way about games too. Especially console games, like Pokemon, that can be $35-$40. A part of me thinks X and Y is coming too quickly, but another part is bored of playing B2/W2, FR/LG, and HG/SS already.

Question: is the price point for DS games generally around $40? I remember when Emerald used to be $50 dollars, so I guess we're getting more value for our money now.

Tsutarja July 1st, 2013 8:34 AM

Yeah, a DS game is roughly worth $35-$40.. and they always have been. I got Diamond and Pearl on the first day of release around $34.99 each, and as late as last year I got Black 2 for the same price, roughly.

What I don't understand though is why a DS game sells for the same price as a 3DS game... it may just be me but I would at least expect a 3DS game to cost a little more than a regular DS game.

I'm pretty sure it's to keep the gaming market competitive and rolling over. Like.. think about it. Even at the time N64 games were selling for 50, 60 dollars and such depending on the game. Gameboy colour games were also 30-40 dollars when they came out too. Might just be an incentive to buy newer.

speapking of prices. What are The Prices for Pokemon B/W & B2W2 in your area? Because here, Pokemon BW cost more than B2W2 ._.

Black Ice July 1st, 2013 9:47 AM

because if it can sell for that much then it will go for that much

droomph July 1st, 2013 10:29 AM

I think Nintendo is catching on to the "we only sell trinkets!" vibe from the Microsoft and Sony camp and want to stick it to 'em by offering the cheapest games around, etc.

Though honestly, they're a bit too expensive for my taste, but at least for Pokémon 1) it's still about $20 less and 2) this will last about my whole lifetime whereas the $60 will be like a 10-hour movie.

Despite all the flak Nintendo is getting, they should pay attention to some of its more prominent 3rd party producers, namely Game Freak.

Though I won't say that M/S is bad or anything. I still think the whole "we sell gadgets" thing is pretty over-the-top, but there is no doubt some crap they're shoveling on to us with the whole 3D gimmick, etc. But then again, with the Move and the Kinect, M/S are pretty much the same in that regards. And they are known for different things - Nintendo for making childhood memories (thus long-lasting games), Xbox for its graphics, PSx for its…fanboys?idek graphics also. I just think that the "console war" is pretty stupid and tbh I would get all three if I had the choice.

There. My reason why I don't hang out on video game forums.

here in the US you can pretty much calculate how many games you're gonna buy by dividing how much money you have by $36 :p

Captain Gizmo July 1st, 2013 10:45 AM

Video game industry. Ugh. Also the console war, the worst part of it are the fanboys insulting each other over which console is best -.-

Is anyone a PC gamer here? I was never too big on consoles, and never really went to my friends' houses to game :P I can't operate a joypad.

To be honest though, I find that I don't have the time to game like I used to. Part of growing up I guess.

I have Steam and a lot of games there, so there's that.

Tsutarja July 1st, 2013 1:27 PM

I have a Steam account with like two games, but I never use it these days because of my lack of interest.

Captain Gizmo July 1st, 2013 1:31 PM

I'm a PC gamer myself. The only console game I play anymore (besides handheld consoles) are Super Smash Bros Melee. Since I'm in the competitive side of that game.

I play TF2, Dota 2, World of Warcraft & Left 4 Dead 2 on my PC right now.

Powerserge July 1st, 2013 2:33 PM

I'm mainly a PC gamer, too. When I was an older kid though, I also had both Nintendo and Sony systems, so I'm pretty loyal to both brands, actually. But definitely more of a PC gamer than I ever was.

I actually like the "console wars" that fanboys/girls participate in. I think it's good to stand by something with full conviction like that. The passion is good for the soul! I imagine them as different factions, haha.

Captain Gizmo July 1st, 2013 2:39 PM

But at the point where they just start insulting each other and not talking about the consoles anymore, it's just.. ugh >_>

Cordelia July 1st, 2013 3:11 PM

I'm not too into consoles... I have a 360 but I barely play it. I much prefer my 3DS. I don't really play any games on anything else but my 3DS... not on PC or anything anymore. /old

Hikamaru July 1st, 2013 3:20 PM

I used to be a heavy PS2 gamer, nowadays I mainly focus on my Pokemon games. I did get a 3DS XL last Christmas but the main reason I want to use it is for Pokemon X & Y.

Tsutarja July 1st, 2013 3:27 PM

I don't use my 3DS XL to browse the internet, and not my iPod Touch as much as I used to because I'm mostly home these days.. but I would probably browse on the go a lot more if I had a tablet

Cordelia July 1st, 2013 3:32 PM

You couldn't pay me to use my 3DS to browse the internet. xD I use it to play games and that's about it. I browse the 'net on my laptop, tablet, or phone. :D

Captain Gizmo July 1st, 2013 3:41 PM

Once I get a 3DS, I'll browse the .net just to see how it is :P

But I think browsing the .net with a phone or a PC is much more convenient :P

Cordelia July 1st, 2013 3:45 PM

Agreed. PC is much more convenient obviously, unless I'm not at home then my phone wins. xD

Tsutarja July 1st, 2013 3:50 PM

Ever since I have gotten Windows 7 onto my desktop, I have used it way more than my laptops.. before then I used my laptops more than my desktop. While I could be browsing with a laptop in lieu of a tablet right now, I just find it uncomfortable to lie back on my couch with a laptop. :p

Captain Gizmo July 1st, 2013 4:03 PM

Been a while since I used our laptop. Ever since I upgraded my PC's hardware to gaming hardwares, I've rarely been on my laptop since then :P

Unless my dad is using MY PC (because he prefers the PC over the laptop) then I'll go on our laptop.

Cordelia July 1st, 2013 5:48 PM

Hehehe that's my fave of LilJz's sigs, Katy Perry suits him.

And I never use a desktop, a laptop is where it's all at when I browse this very forum.

Treecko July 2nd, 2013 1:01 AM

I share a desktop with three other people in my family so I really wish I had a laptop. I hate it cause I can't be on whenever I want. Once I get one, I'll be on here ten times even more than I am now.

Tsutarja July 2nd, 2013 2:11 AM

All devices I own are used only by me, and I make sure to my best that no one else touches my desktops/laptops/mobile devices (unless they have my permission) because I don't want anyone touching them unsupervised. I may seem a little paranoid for that, but it's just me and I respect that same rule to my brother and my parents (with the exception of my mother's iPad)

Yes more people who agree with me. I need more of those. They don't fit at all. It's just boring and having colored names stands out more. It's makes staff look way more important to me. Though Audy really likes them cause he says they'll be "less cluttery than the colored names and userbars" with the new features coming to PC soon so I can't see them changing back. :(

Her July 2nd, 2013 3:30 AM

this change for the sake of change thing got old maybe three months ago

Treecko July 2nd, 2013 3:38 AM

Exactly I hope we don't become like Facebook or MySpace lol. I liked the green supporters, but this one I don't get. If the old ones were too clunky, they could of at least changed only the userbar, and kept the colored usernames.

Cordelia July 2nd, 2013 3:43 AM

It's funny this change came when I was getting used to having a green username. At least my Oshawott themes will look nice without having green color overriding it.

The way I see it, the "console wars" isn't about fanboys just raging. It actually shapes the future of gaming. If people are gonna stand up to "no always online" stuff like that.. and "no we don't want to stream" it makes perfect sense, especially seeing that bandwidth is still capped in most of North America. If you have a legit reason to rage, I say rage all the way!

Tsutarja July 2nd, 2013 5:40 AM

People have their opinions and preferences on consoles, and that's fine. What I don't understand is why fanboys have to bash the consoles they hate but superbly admire the ones they love, when in fact they haven't even probably used the consoles that they're bashing. I know people like this, unfortunately.

As for me, I prefer Nintendo consoles over Sony and Microsoft, yet I don't bash them. My brother has a PS3 and I don't bash him about owning it, and he doesn't bash me for owning a Wii.

I know this post doesn't make sense, but w/e. It's just a random thought.

Shining Raichu July 2nd, 2013 5:55 AM

It's kind of human nature to make sure people know you don't like the things you don't like. That's something I've noticed recently in everybody, and I've tried to stop it in myself.

As for the userbars, I quite like them, my only problem is that they've replaced username formatting :(

Cordelia July 2nd, 2013 6:00 AM

For me, I own a 360 and a Wii. I never owned a PS3 but they are excellent. I like them all, tbqh. This new generation that's coming/that's out, though... I'd have to go with PS4/WiiU. Just not a XBone fan at all.

Sanguine July 2nd, 2013 7:12 AM

Like Mac, I own a Wii and a 360. I haven't touched my Wii in a really long time, though.

I'm still unsure of what I want to buy in regards to the PS4 and the Xbox One :/

alisaie July 2nd, 2013 7:53 AM

Knowing me when the PS4 comes out I'll be acquiring a PS3 because cheaper. Oops. Though it's not completely my fault that until beginning of next year there would have seriously been no games in which I haaaad to get a PS3.

I feel a lot of people are gonna do that, actually. Which came, Tara? And I'll be getting a PS4 when I can afford it. Heh.

Also, I quite like the new username format. Just something about it.

Tsutarja July 2nd, 2013 8:45 AM

The new usernames are certainly a change that is gonna have to have time to get used to for a lot of members. I see things on a forum all the time that change and I've adjusted to such changes.

As for the PS3, it wouldn't surprise me if it came through like the PS2 with games still being in production for the system even far after the PS4 comes out.

If I'm going to get a console, I'd be getting a Wii-U. The console really hit me and I like it. I tried it at my friend's place and it was awesome. I was never really a big fan of Sony after their first PlayStation. Xbox 360 was alright. Wii was good in my standards but I never bought one because the games didn't really appeal to me (And because my girlfriend got a Wii and I could just play it at her place instead of gettin one myself)

Sableye~ July 2nd, 2013 9:40 AM

My name no longer is italic, so the operator symbols finally won't be messed up. [: I kind of like all of the usernames being black, as well.

As previously stated, I don't really play videogames anymore. Just Pokemon- and even at that, I really just use it for working toward a better trade shop haha. I recently lost redis rights to a couple of Pokemon, so I need to stop being lazy and get them myself.
Edit:
Found out from Tabor that it's only temporary *just* before our names changed back haha.

Black Ice July 2nd, 2013 9:40 AM

until developers figure out how to utilize the new generation consoles, i dont think the difference between this gen and next gen will be huge. the trailers didn't really impress me, but i guess there is a limit to how good graphics can get with current technology. ps3/360 will probably stay relevant for several more years. wii...lol

I'm really hoping that they'll integrate the PSVita somehow. There is so much stuff they can do with it! I can't wait! Especially that the Playstation is such an open market for indie-developers. I just know they'll make some cool stuff.
Same with the WiiU.. why are they only using it as a menu screen? Come on, Nintendo! You can do SO much more. And the fact that if your WiiU first player controller breaks.. you need to buy a whole new console? >_> That is very disappointing.

And graphics will never be as good on a console than a PC but Unity is doing quite a lot of cool stuff too.

Tsutarja July 2nd, 2013 2:36 PM

If anything, my next TV console is probably gonna be a WiiU, because I'm more of a Nintendo person than anything, but based on what I saw, the PS4 does indeed look promising and I would certainly get one. As for the Xbox One, I'm not as fond on it as I am the WiiU or the PS4, mainly because of the lack of emphasis on gaming from the keynote that Microsoft held to introduce it. But things may have changed since then for the Xbox One, so idk..

Captain Gizmo July 2nd, 2013 3:50 PM

Also a real shame that most of the games that are top sellers on the TV consoles are mostly fps. Practically every new game that comes out are fps. Don't get me wrong, they have some great fps games. But I think there's just too many of them nowadays.

Get a PS4. They removed the DRM from the XBone but I wouldn't trust them not to try it again later.

ProfGrove July 2nd, 2013 4:26 PM

I've been mainly an Xbox gamer since its release and will continue considering they don't have a portable. I made up my mind awhile back though that I would be going handheld and having recently picked up a 3DS XL; am loving it! I will be getting a PS Vita too and the new Nvidia handheld named SHIELD or whatever. Yes, will be going with Xbox One as a home entertainment system, solely for exclusives I can't get elsewhere.

vaporeon7 July 2nd, 2013 4:29 PM

I already have a Wii U and it's a shame there is nothing for it atm. I've barely played it and it pretty much is just used as a normal Wii. Hopefully Pikmin 3 can change that.

Cordelia July 2nd, 2013 4:35 PM

WiiU is reminding me of the 3DS at launch. There wasn't much of a point in owning one til later...

Captain Gizmo July 2nd, 2013 4:40 PM

Pokemon X & Y are the bread and butter for the sales of a 3DS imo :)

Cordelia July 2nd, 2013 4:47 PM

I'd say so, but also a lot of great games have come out this year... cough Fire Emblem cough

alisaie July 2nd, 2013 5:06 PM

I've enjoyed all the games (whether I was just watching or actually playing) that I've gotten for my 3DS so far. Though all of 'em except one came out this year, and the last one came out end of last year. So yeah. Took a while for the 3DS to gain games but now that it has them it's great imo. And I believe with games such as Pokemon X/Y coming out it can continue.

I can't disagree with you on that point. The 3DS has other great games that attract players, but my decision on buying a 3DS XL came down to seeing gameplay for both Pokemon X and Y. I was hit with a yearning desire to capture those graphical creatures and begin my quest anew, almost 10 years since I was last in Kanto/Johto. ;)

Tsutarja July 2nd, 2013 5:18 PM

I will say I got my 3DS XL back in April in anticipation for X and Y, but so far I only own Heroes of Ruin, which was a game given to me by a friend. I would want to own more 3DS games, but I'm in agreement with those who say that X and Y will be a main motive for more gamers to own a 3DS or a 3DS XL.

Captain Gizmo July 2nd, 2013 5:26 PM

I saw the Mario Kart game for the 3DS and I said to myself 'hmm, looks like a nice game, and not available on the DS. Maybe I should get myself a 3DS"
But when I saw Pokemon X & Y and it's availability on only the 3DS, I said to myself that I gotta get one now. I'm determined to get one before October :P

Cordelia July 2nd, 2013 5:32 PM

MK7 is a really, really good game! I really enjoy it. It was my first 3DS game n_n

Tsutarja July 2nd, 2013 5:52 PM

I've always wanted to try one of the Mario Kart games to see how fun they are, but never got around to doing so D: and it's bad enough that I own MK DS as well, which came with my special SMB 25th Anniversary DSi XL a few years ago.

Cordelia July 2nd, 2013 6:04 PM

Lol, you should play it! I fell in love with MK way back on the N64... :)

Captain Gizmo July 2nd, 2013 6:16 PM

Me too! The chocolate road, Princess Peach's track and Rainbow Road!

Am I the only one to like Rainbow Road? Everyone that I play with absolutely HATES Rainbow Road. But It's actually one, if not my favorite track of the games. Please tell me other people loves Rainbow Road too :)

Cordelia July 2nd, 2013 6:21 PM

I like Rainbow Road when I'm not being an idiot and falling off. xD

Captain Gizmo July 2nd, 2013 6:26 PM

I don't fall a lot in Rainbow Road. But when I do, I'm still in the top 3 :P

Kanzler July 2nd, 2013 6:28 PM

Rainbow road is the trippiest and therefore best track there is. But in MK Wii, Bowser, Donkey Kong or Wario will mysteriously appear behind me and knock me off right before the finish line, sending me into last place.

Also all this MK is reminding me of Michael Kors.

Captain Gizmo July 2nd, 2013 7:41 PM

I remember when my mom bought me Mario Kart: Double Dash as a surprise. It wasn't even my birthday :)

I love the game so much. I still play it from time to time. My girlfriend likes to play it with me too :)

She actually beats me sometimes in battle :C

Captain Gizmo July 2nd, 2013 8:41 PM

Somehow I got 2 game disc of it, LOL. I'd give one to you if you lived close^^'

If you got any shops that sells used games, then go there. Even flea markets got game goodies too!

Tsutarja July 3rd, 2013 3:45 AM

I never buy my games from game stores.. it's usually from electronic stores such as Best Buy. I've bought HeartGold/SoulSilver, Black, and Black 2 all from Best Buy. The last time I didn't buy a game from Best Buy was back in 2007 with Diamond and Pearl, which I got from Circuit City (who eventually went under and reopened as an online store only).

Good morning to you. I hope your day started off very well, unlike mines.

I slept at 4am and I got woken up by my dad browsing through some of his stuffs in my room, he was making so much noise it's unbelievable. Then when he was finally done I closed the door and tried to get some sleep because I had to go pick up some food for my dog at 12h. Then after a while he comes back in my room asking me where was his charger for his new phone. He thought I took it and started blaming me for HIM losing it. He then proceeded to look at MY charger because he think I took his charger for whatever reason. We had an argument about him always blaming me and my mom about him alwaya losing his stuffs around the house when he's the one who just leave his stuffs lying around the house.

And to say starting next week he's having his 2 weeks vacation from work... I always hate that part of summer. I despise being with my dad.

Cordelia July 3rd, 2013 7:05 AM

I buy from both electronic stores and game stores. And good morning. I generally don't sleep that we'll, sadly, but I'm trying.

Kanzler July 3rd, 2013 7:38 AM

Good morning all! It's a healthy habit to eat within 30 minutes of waking up.

@LilJz: I tend to find that people do that, it's instinctual. Myself included!

Tsutarja July 3rd, 2013 8:15 AM

I typically eat breakfast within an hour of waking up every morning.. so I guess I should reduce it down to within a half hour? :p

@LilJz: sorry to hear about that :( I hate it every time my brother comes home at night and I'm already in bed because he talks so loud I can hear him clearly from across the kitchen and having sensitive hearing doesn't help my situation much

Cordelia July 3rd, 2013 8:22 AM

I prefer to eat breakfast when I get up but today I didn't have time so I ate when I got to work an hour and a half later. Now I have a headache and it sucks.

If I have to do anything that morning, I don't eat breakfast. My blood sugar trolls me if I wait too long to eat, but I already have been busy and gone for like 8-9 hours without eating a meal, and nothing actually happened. :?

My morning has actually gone kind of well.

Lol, that's not even eight hours of sleep though. It's being a night owl.

That stinks. That's why I always sleep with a fan on high with sun blocking drapes. I love to sleep in a cave... otherwise I sweat even worse than usual. Do you sweat s lot in your sleep?

That meetup was specifically for a cwalk meetup and I was hosting it LOL.

And I usually sweat when I wake up from a horrible nightmare, haha. It's actually really difficult for me to sweat. So I either have to do a huuuge amount of exercise, or if outside it's like 30 degrés celsius or I wake up from à bad nightmare 8)

Honest July 3rd, 2013 12:18 PM

I shower everyday in the morning, just cause I need something to wake me up. -_-;

Cordelia July 3rd, 2013 12:18 PM

I also have a hard time sleeping when I'm hot. That's why I use the fan. I sweat a lot as well and it's really annoying. I also have a hard time getting deodorant that doesn't just fail on me. I swear my skin just has it out for me! Some brands are too harsh and burn my skin and others just don't work and I stink. I have to rotate out deodorants sometimes as well.

Edit: I just passed my pair in posts! Yay!

Does waking up at like 1pm count as sleeping in, if I had gone to sleep around noon the same day and stayed up all night? {:
I tend to sleep in if I don't sleep well. But sometimes I get up at like 5am because something wakes me up (loud noise outside, being in pain, etc).
But I can function with only a few hours of sleep. The upside to being tired is that everything becomes hilarious. It also is fun to stumble around the house like an idiot because you don't have any balance (which I did after taking something to sleep and forgetting about it).

Honest July 3rd, 2013 12:19 PM

Heh, deodorant. Never use Axe guys. Might as well be asking for the hell the follows.

Brut all the way! =D

I remember when peoe used axe déodorant spray so muxh during my first years of High school. They would put so much that à lot of people would get tired of the smell and they started hating it, haha.

Honest July 3rd, 2013 12:50 PM

Yup, that's basically the story. Nowadays, instead of becoming a chick magnet with Axe, you become a **** magnet. Cause people (myself included) really will want to kill you.

Hahahaha, I'll admit, I used to do that when I was younger... with Axe. Then this girl completely ripped me a new one saying I overdid it. Never touched it again.

Tsutarja July 3rd, 2013 1:48 PM

As a guy, I cannot stand the smell of Axe.. it reminds me of being in a PE locker room whenever I walk past a guy who freshly sprayed it onto their body.

If you use it like a normal person, it's fine ._. *sprits sprits*.. not *cover it like you're trying to wash manure covered shoes with fabreeze*
I like the scent of Axe :3 I find it attractive! I also like Suremen (the Ice one) *_* Smells nice.

I mean, I'm not gonna say that Axe smells bad. A few do (imo) but there are a few good ones. But too much of it'll make your lungs cry. =P

Never heard of Suremen, ever. Must not be one from around my place. I like some European brand called FCUK or something, too. And no, I didn't make that up, to those who don't know it.

Cordelia July 3rd, 2013 1:59 PM

I use it in small amounts so it's actually pleasant. And not all the time either...

Honest July 3rd, 2013 2:10 PM

You learn something new everyday!

But yeah, it smelled heavenly.

droomph July 3rd, 2013 2:49 PM

I am looking pretty.

As in, I'm sweating, I'm tired, and I'm in the gym.

Honest July 3rd, 2013 3:36 PM

Make sure you get some Axe, k?
