what is the main reason why you are going to get Pokémon X or Pokémon Y?

is it a certain Pokémon in the game? is it a certain feature? what is the ONE THING about Pokémon X & Y that prompting you to want to buy it?

for me, it was Fennekin that I liked so much, but that changed I WANT SYLVEON!! and that's why I AM buying it!!

JayTheKing July 17th, 2013 10:40 AM

First the idea of 3D battling.
Now the online features and the customization part which i wanted for so long.
No pokemon made me decide though because i know i am gonna love all of them without exceptions.

HaiImNate July 17th, 2013 10:56 AM

I think that the game will be fun. I want to play through the story, and I'm excited for the new Pokemon.

Austin1395 July 17th, 2013 11:19 AM

The 3D
The new type (even though I don' like it too much)
The characters (all your friends/rivals, and the Professor)
All the new typings
Yveltal and the other Dark types
First game in a European setting
Player customization

Kikaito plush July 17th, 2013 11:28 AM

for Talli it is the riding the pokemon feature, Froakie and pokemon Amie.

blue July 17th, 2013 11:29 AM

Like all Pokémon games, they're fun! Plus a handful of other reasons based on what we've seen so far, although I would still probably buy it regardless of the features.

It's a main series Pokémon game, that's good enough for me.

SnowpointQuincy July 17th, 2013 11:42 AM

The new look is enough for me! And I'm going to buy it just because it was new.

L0RD G3NGAR July 17th, 2013 11:44 AM

The battles look much more intense, ridable pokemon, new type, Dragon quest monster joker looking graphics, costimizeable characters, new pokemon, new attacks.

This.

Though all the features and new Pokémon definitely increases my anticipation for them, mainly the new mons, every new generation is like opening Christmas presents, you know some things that are in the boxes, but not all of them.

Iceshadow3317 July 17th, 2013 1:05 PM

Main reason, it's a new generation.
Other reason, more pokemon.

Think that pretty much explains it.

SpitfireYoshi July 17th, 2013 1:27 PM

First games for the generation
First Main Series for 3DS

Squirrel July 17th, 2013 5:27 PM

I buy every main series game, that's about it! I buy them because they're Pokémon. The franchise is proven to be wonderful and I want to play every game out there for Pokémon, so I'd never miss out on such a huge addition!

PlatinumDude July 17th, 2013 5:38 PM

They're the latest Pokemon games; what do you expect? I always go for the latest Pokemon games. That, and I want to keep up with metagame changes.

Pichu2Pikachu2Raichu July 17th, 2013 5:45 PM

I will be the first and only Pokémon game I will ever buy for a game console.

And they say the GFX is awseome right? Well there is yet anonther reason, playing Ruby and Emerald all the time and looking at the pixels is a stran on the eyes.

Aradiamara July 17th, 2013 5:51 PM

Why wouldn't you get them? Its the latest pokemon games!
And I'm really excited for every single new feature and pokemon announced. It just looks epic.

Best answer.

P.S.: Maybe a better idea to ask whether people will get X or Y, and why?

Well, you must. There's no 3DS emulator. The only way to play is on a real 3DS.

Although I think a 3DS emulator is pointless if it can't emulate the 3D screen...

I'll be getting X for various reasons. Xerneas is cooler than Yveltal to me and as a more badass than cute fairy type I'd be really excited to use him, even though I don't use legends online. Also Clauncher. He's perfect. Other than that its probably because my friend is getting Y :P

There is a 3ds emulator. Type 3Ds emulator on google and you should get one.

Hikamaru July 17th, 2013 7:28 PM

I always try to play the latest Pokemon games, and X/Y will be no different.

This emulator is a fake.

A new pokemon adventure ♫
It's in 3D ♫
Play with your new pokemon ♫
In Pokemon Amie ♫

Pretty much sums it up.

I follow gbatemp on a regular basis and believe me, if it existed, it would appear there. There are a lot of hoaxes, including flashcarts that can supposedly play 3DS games, and they're all fake. At most it's a DS flashcart that's compatible with the 3DS, and that's quite difficult with regular Nintendo firmware updates killing all but two flashcart models. And obviously, since a 3DS flashcart doesn't exist, it means the 3DS wasn't hacked yet, and, if the 3DS wasn't hacked yet, there are no 3DS emulators.

As an owner of a 3DS XL I'm more interested in homebrew anyway.

Tsutarja July 18th, 2013 3:21 AM

The main reason I'm going to get either X or Y (probably the latter), is so I can continue playing along in the Pokémon franchise. That's all. However, I am also anticipating the new graphics and the 3D effects, and X/Y was the reason I bought my 3DS XL, too.

tnfsf11 July 18th, 2013 6:32 AM

The main reason was ofc the shift to 3D in terms of graphics, other reasons were the European setting & the new features (Amie/Roller skates/Riding Pokémon/Sitting on benches...etc)
