Which language?

Sorry if this has been already taken :x

So with the new games, you can change languages, which is new. And I'm a language freak so I'm excited for this! (…right. Guess droomph's alone here again)

So regardless of what you think about languages, are you willing to venture out of the normal language you play games in?

For me, I'll play the game in English to get a sense of the plot and OMG KOREAN?! HOT DAMN I'LL TAKE 4

Hikamaru July 17th, 2013 8:41 PM

I'll be playing in English, since that's the only one of said languages I can read.

PlatinumDude July 17th, 2013 8:43 PM

I'll play the games in English, because I've been playing the English versions of past games since Gen III.

TrollShammy80 July 18th, 2013 12:14 AM

i will be playing both in English; it's great to see the different languages in one game though ^^

classiccartoonsftw July 18th, 2013 12:28 AM

I'm going for English as well.

Shrew July 18th, 2013 1:23 AM

The ability to change languages has probably been the least exciting piece of news I've heard. I guess it'll be useful for those who have foreign parents, and they want their parents to... who am I kidding, no one shares their pokemon game. So yeah, just language lovers.

Edit @droomph: I didn't mean for "just language lovers" to sound as an insult. I'll be more careful with my words in the future. :)

That's kind of mean. I mean, if you don't find it interesting, don't make us feel like freaks :x

because you know, people find language interesting, they want to learn it.

JP July 18th, 2013 10:18 AM

Could do French, but I'm much more comfortable with English nowadays.

blue July 18th, 2013 10:49 AM

English first time and then possibly French for my second play through ;;

Sheep July 18th, 2013 10:55 AM

English will be my primary language of choice since it's the one I understand best, but I'd definitely switch to some others when I'm looking to sneak in some practice. :D

Happy Smiley Yum Yum July 18th, 2013 10:57 AM

French because it's good practice.

Kikaito plush July 18th, 2013 11:11 AM

I will play one in English and the other in Swedish as am half Swedish.

EJ Nero July 18th, 2013 11:18 AM

Well I don't speak the languages I'm studying well enough to play video games in them. So I'm sticking to the English games. Plus I'm buying a 3DS in the states, and given the region-lock I don't think a Japanese X (for example) would play on mine. -_-

Firox July 18th, 2013 12:29 PM

I'm sort of a "Language fan" myself too, I'll end up buying 7 copies of Pokemon X and 7 copies of Pokemon Y so I can play them each in a different language....

overall I'm going to start playing the game in my native language first, Spanish. I just hope its the Spanish spoken around USA, Mexico.... the Latin American version and not the Iberian version... regardless of accent, I'll play it in Spanish first.

In my second playthrough I'll play it on my 2nd language, English, on my 3rd playthrough in the native game's language Japanese, and after that from 4th to 7th in all other languages.

amerininja July 18th, 2013 12:36 PM

Ill play it English once and then in Japanese from there on. I love that language it sounds cool that we can change this.

Satoshi Ookami July 18th, 2013 10:54 PM

English, I guess...
I'll try Japanese for sure if possible =D
It will feel kinda weird not playing the Japanese version first while waiting for English one... :D

tnfsf11 July 19th, 2013 6:26 AM

I would have played in French in my first playthrough but unfortunately Pokémon names will be different & that won't help me memorize them :/
Unfortunately you can't change the language mid-game so it will probably be English for the first playthrough & French for the second :)

Oshamaru July 19th, 2013 6:35 AM

Spanish is my first language, but I'm so used to English, soo that. I *may* play in Spanish when I restart, though.

Nice to see I'm not the only person who wants it in mexican spanish.

SpitfireYoshi July 19th, 2013 7:38 AM

English or French, most likely English

metalhand July 19th, 2013 7:55 AM

unfortunately there is no game in my native language, so i will use english.
except english i don't underdtand any of the languages that the game is available at.

Sabrewulf238 July 19th, 2013 8:03 AM

You can't change the language once you've selected it, so I probably won't go with anything except English.

It would be nice if you just change whenever you wanted but unfortunately that's not the case.

Yup, same here. I might just screw around with French just to see how good I am when it comes to understanding it, but otherwise I'll play in English. Actually, my first playthrough will probably just be English, then I'll switch over to French since I'll have same base work laid down so if I get stuck I'll still have a general idea of what to do.

Tsutarja July 19th, 2013 9:57 AM

English for me. It's the only language I know and speak.

facekeyboarding July 19th, 2013 6:24 PM

If only 普通话 was an option. :( I'll probably go with Spanish if it's non-Iberean, or French, at least for the second time around. It's always most fun in your native language, because really, I usually play after work or school, and sometimes I'm too tired to be in French/Spanish speaking mode. Now if only I could play in my current project, Ukranian... :P

Del July 19th, 2013 6:30 PM

well, for me english frensh spanish.. really doesnt amtter to me... but i hope if it contain arabic :D that would be cool!
