Your Pokemon X and Y Team So Far?

So based on the Pokemon released so far, anyone know roughly what they want on their team? So that's all the new gen 6 Pokemon, plus any old Pokemon returning, like Axew, Pikachu, Octillery etc. Of course, you can update your team when/if you change your mind, or if a new Pokemon that perks your interest is revealed. My teams looking like :
-Fennekin
-Helioptile
-Sylveon
-Noivern
-Pangoro
-Malamar
I'll most likely only use Gen 6 Pokemon on my first run. What's everyone else having??

(If there is already a thread for this feel free to close this.)

Perriechu July 23rd, 2013 12:13 AM

Well from what we've got so far;

- Froakie [Final evo]
- Vivillon
- Malamar
- Swirlix [Final evo]
- Maybe Oorotto
- ?????

The things that could change are; if Oorotto's typing sucks or its base stats are bad I won't use it, as with Vivillon's base stats. If everything about the two is bad then I'll just use 3 more new ones, none from the currently released though.

Although that's just my team for X; as for Y;

- Fennekin [Final evo]
- Malamar [idc i wanna use it twice]
- Spritzee [Final evo]
- Helioptile [Final evo]
- Flabébé [Final evo]
- ??????

This is providing those Pokemon get evolutions; I'm certain Swirlix and Spritzee will and most likely Helioptile. idk about Flabébé though.

Satoshi Ookami July 23rd, 2013 12:14 AM

I'll be making my team depending mostly on stats and availability...
If some cool Pokemon is obtainable late in game, I probably won't use it...
It will also depend on which old Pokemon are available.

classiccartoonsftw July 23rd, 2013 12:30 AM

As of now, I only have three Pokemon for my team, and those are Froakie, Talonflame, and Gengar (assuming that it'll be in the Kalos Pokedex). That leaves three open slots.

Kyrul July 23rd, 2013 12:48 AM

-Froakie
-Pangoro
-Vivillion
-Litleo
-Noivern

Firox July 23rd, 2013 12:58 AM

So far: In only 3 ready:
• Chespin [my main grass type]
• Litleo [fire type - cat Pokemon of the region too]
• Helioptile [electric type]
• [water type Pokemon]
• [fighting type Pokemon - I don't want Pancham]
• [weasel Pokemon of the region if one is created that is]

4th Pokemon: I hope some future Pokemon will be based on Pokemon I like, mainly for water type, other wise I'll stick with what ever water type I may like.

I sure hope they introduce another feline-Pokemon besides Litleo (and its future evo's). Really been wanting a water-type feline.

5th Pokemon: Fighting type, I may end up using Pancham if no other fighting types catch my attention and Mienfoo isn't available early in the game (seen her in the very first game trailer).

6th Pokemon: I hope the future Kalos mustelid will be a good looking one, I remember a few weeks ago, one of my friends (on Bulbagardens) suggested that a fire-type weasel be introduced, I love that idea.

amerininja July 23rd, 2013 1:10 AM

So far just Helioptile and Pikachu as I am kinda getting used to only using Electric types

Voliol July 23rd, 2013 1:24 AM

Pokémonarchy!

Chespin - the grassy prince/princess
Talonflame - the fiery archer that takes down its enemies from above
Malimar - every kingdom needs a witch
Clauncher - the gaurdian of the castle

The last slots will consist of a ground-type and something else, maybe the generic small mammal (villager) or a fairy-type like Swirlix.

WishCookie July 23rd, 2013 1:24 AM

As for now, I'll use:

1. Fennekin
2. Pancham --->Pangoro
3. Helioptile
4. Skrelp
5. Inkay ---> Malamar
6. ???

Ω Ruby and α Sapphire July 23rd, 2013 1:42 AM

Based off what we've seen so far, I'd go with:
Chespin
Helioptile
Skrelp
Fletchling
????? (Ground Type preferable)
Vivillion
Obviously if the evolutions of these Pokemon disappoint they will not be on my team. But I really like all those Pokemon and are sure there evo's will look awesome!

blue July 23rd, 2013 2:45 AM

Dedicated a lot of thought to this over the past few months and then, every time we get a new set of Pokemon it changes! So far I've got a definite four and then the rest I'll be unsure of until the whole Pokédex is revealed. I will be using a full team of six Kalos Pokémon on both X and Y which will be something liiike:

(First Four are certain)

Pokémon X.

Fennekin (Fire)
Fletchling (Flying/Fire)
Inkay (Dark/Psychic)
Clauncher (Water)
Sylveon/Swirlix (Or atleast one Fairy Type)
???

For the Sixth member there isn't enough Pokémon revealed yet to make a final decision, but I'm certain I'll be using Fennekin, Fletchling, Inkay and Clauncher! Their designs are awesome.

greenking13 July 23rd, 2013 3:15 AM

I am not certain so far, although I do want to test out that new fairy pokemon, Sylveon.

Kikaito plush July 23rd, 2013 3:22 AM

all I know is one pokemon I will use and that is Froakie

swift13 July 23rd, 2013 3:27 AM

i just wanna play without planning my team but the pokemon i MUST have in my team is swirlix :P

JayTheKing July 23rd, 2013 4:18 AM

Chespin(Final)
Pangoro
Helioptile(Final?)
Spritzee(Only if it is flying or else Talonflame)
Litleo(If i get Talonflame my favourite fairy though)
Skrelp(Final?)

miltankRancher July 23rd, 2013 5:12 AM

From all the revealed Pokemon, my team thus far is:

- Froakie and its evolutions
- Helioptile and its evolution (if possible)
- Pangoro
- Noivern
- Skrelp and its evolutions
- Litleo and its evolution

You have Sylveon everywhere, your PP, your Signature, and you're not having it? o.O To be honest I'm a little confuzzled...

Rayquaza 97 July 23rd, 2013 7:00 AM

Mine will probably be as follows:
Fennekin
Litleo
Clauncher
Fletchling
Gogoat
Pancham

Venitardus July 23rd, 2013 7:10 AM

As of this moment, this is my team for x and y:

Chespin
Pancham/Pangoro
Litleo or Fletchling/Talonflame (still deciding which one)
Helioptile
Clauncher

L0RD G3NGAR July 23rd, 2013 10:01 AM

really? I'm the only one who is gonna have honedge? W.e
Cherspin(final evolution)
Honedge(ethier way, if it evolves or not (
Sylveon(maybe)
Malamar (maybe, depending on it's stats)
The rest I'm unsure of, if they get evolutions then maybe
Litleo
Skrelp

Oshamaru July 23rd, 2013 10:04 AM

Chespin
Helioptile
Clauncher (Or another Water type)
Swirlix
???
???

I'll get the other two as I play the game. I'll probably include a Fire type, but I don't know about the other.

Austin1395 July 23rd, 2013 10:23 AM

As of now, my team will consist of:

Chespin
Pancham/Pangoro
Inkay/Malamar
Zoroark
Sylveon (if available early enough)
Honedge

Radiantsunset July 23rd, 2013 10:26 AM

So far I've thought:

Froakie's final evo
Vivillon
Malamar

I definitely want to use a fairy type though!

Wait so you're getting both games? How are you going to play them? One at a time or both at the same time-ish? lol I think that'd be a Pokemon overload for me haha.

My team will probably look something like this at some point:
Fennekin
Pancham/Pangoro
Noivern
Inkay/Malamar
Fletchling/Talonflame
Spritzee

Oddball20007 July 23rd, 2013 10:45 AM

Fenekkin (Fire/psychic or so its been rumored)
-------- (Water or grass)
Honedge (Ghost/steel)
wigglytuff (Fairy/normal)
sylveon (Fairy)
--------- (Probably a dark type.)

Cerberus87 July 23rd, 2013 10:51 AM

The only ones I'm considering among the revealed Pokémon are Fennekin and Malimar. I have a feeling the strongest Pokémon haven't been shown yet.

Sabrewulf238 July 23rd, 2013 10:53 AM

Having to pick a team of six:

Malamar
Fennekin [Final evo]
Helioptile [Final evo]
Clauncher [Final evo]
Flabebe [Final evo]
Gogoat

In order of certainty from most certain to least certain. I love Malamars design so I'm hoping to get him on my team no matter what. Gogoat likely won't be in my team, it's just filler right now. I was sure about Flabebe but it could be a little iffy. It depends on if Spritzee evolves into a Fairy/Poison plague doctor....or if Mawile evolves into a Steel/Fairy.

It'll depend on what old pokemon return too though, I'll probably want one old pokemon I've never used before.

You know, I could probably get away without having a water type this gen....since Malamar will probably learn surf because of it's origin. Could be interesting, I can't remember a playthrough where I didn't have a water type.

Moist July 23rd, 2013 12:46 PM

I'm gonna wait until I see all of the new pokemon, there are too many good pokemon to choose...

Shrew July 23rd, 2013 12:57 PM

Chespin and Fletchling are the only 2 I've decided on, although the former may change depending on final evolutions.

EJ Nero July 23rd, 2013 1:00 PM

I can't even tell you right now. Too many pokemon not yet revealed. I'll make my team once I see the full pokedex, which won't be until the game's release.

Zylas July 23rd, 2013 1:02 PM

1. Chespin -----> whatever the heck it evolves into. This is a change for me, because I've always been dedicated to the water starter, but I thought it was time for a bit of change.
2. Pancham (The new Lucario! XD) ----> Pangoro
3. Fletchling --------> Talonflame (yes it may seem pointless, but Talonflame is very similar to the Peregrine Falcon, which is my favorite animal :) )
4. Gogoat - for traveling
5. Helioptile
6. Inkay ------> Malamar (Uh, ultimate will-bending powers? Sweet! I'm thinkin' the new Gengar!)

This team will obviously change as more Pokes are released.

Don't be so sure. Eelektross is an aquatic Pokémon and can't learn Surf.

BTW Malimar should already be the final stage.

Gulpin July 23rd, 2013 2:10 PM

This will most likely be completely different once the games come out, but as of now my team will look like this:
- Chespin
- Flabebe
- Talonflame
- Clauncher/Skrelp
- Malamar
- Helioptile

The starter really depends on the final evolution for me. With Unova's starters I was dead-set on choosing Tepig until the evolutions were revealed and I did a complete 180 and went for the much better (in my opinion) Oshawott line.
Flabebe is my favorite Fairy type so far, and hopefully it evolves well. If it doesn't I may go for Swirlix/Spritzee, all depending on evolutions. If I dislike all of their evo's I'll probably go for a retconned Fairy.
Talonflame seems like an awesome fire and flying type, and I like it a lot better than Litleo.
I like Clauncher and Skrelp pretty much equally, so whichever one I choose will likely depend on the version I play which will also depend on their evolutions.
Malamar looks awesome, and Inkay is just so adorable (not to mention their awesome typing!) so as long as their stats match my play style they will likely be on my team.
Not really sure about Helioptile, though it seems promising.

The Local Joke July 23rd, 2013 2:32 PM

Clauncher and Honedge, so far.

billyjoseph July 23rd, 2013 3:10 PM

Fennekin
Skrelp
Maika
Honedge
Gogoat
Noivern

....so far but i think i'll have trouble deciding on just 6 this gen.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire July 23rd, 2013 4:21 PM

Fennekin
Helioptile
Eevee (if we can get one early on) and evolve it into Sylveon
Pancham
Gogoat
and the 6th is undetermined yet.

Boilurn July 23rd, 2013 7:50 PM

Great topic idea!

- Honedge
- Noivern
- Talonflame
- Skrelp
- Malamar
- Pangoro

This should make great type synergy both offensively and defensively.

norbyotter July 23rd, 2013 8:26 PM

Hmm well, I'll do the same; using gen 6 pokes only for in-game stuff.

As always, with my first run, I'll go more with the looks than the stats for my party! But I'll change it up if some Pokemon really doesn't cut it for me xD

1- Chespin, evos.
2- Helioptile, evos.
3- Litleo, evos.
4- Sylveon.
5- Honedge, and it's evos if it has any, for sure.
6- Pancham, maybe... I don't like Pangoro at all, but I love Pancham's design ;w;

Jake♫ July 23rd, 2013 8:39 PM

I totally read this title as "Pokemon X and Y Partying So Far" and was severely confused.

As of now, I'm thinking Chespin, Clauncher, and Malamar. The other three are still up for debate. I have no idea what I'll fill them with, but hopefully it won't require an HM Slave seeing as they weren't totally necessary last generation. I'd definitely prefer to get a Fire type (Maybe Talonflame, but I'm not sure), an Electric type, and for the third one it'd pretty much be a wild card.

Entermaid July 23rd, 2013 10:06 PM

Hmm... I will update this each reveal, as always, but for now this is my plan.

Spoiler:
I need to have a grass, fire, and water pokemon. Also, I rarely use pokemon that don't have a color palette of the trio's typing. So...I won't go with Gogoat; therefore, for now I have to go with the Chespin. I am equally diggin' him and Fennekin anyway. Fire pokemon...well, no Fennekin, unless a new grass is revealed that I like. Other than than there is Talonflame and Litleo. I like talonflame, but it doesn't go any further than like. Litleo on the other hand may not be red/orange predominately in its palette, but I am assuming that he will grow a large fiery mane. The potential for the Litleo line outweighs the already revealed information on Talonflame, which likely will not evolve. So I am going with Litleo, for now. Lastly, we have water. Froakie could be a really amazing toad king with a white crown and bubbly robe, but for now, I can't assume anything, and the Froakie design is just lukewarm for me. The two option I have are Skrelp and Clauncher. I generally don't use pokemon that are more on the ugly or brutish side. I prefer elegant or regal pokemon over anything else, and I am not getting any of those vibes from these pokemon yet (though Skrelp has more potential). Further they are X and Y exclusive, so, for now, I will put this idea on the backburner and go to other version exclusives. Swirlix is the X-version exclusive and Spritzee is the Y-version exclusive. I really like both of them a lot, but I really want Swirlix, and I am predicting that it will evolve into a standard french poodle, which would be insanely amazing. Though, spritzee could very well be a plauge doctor, as many have speculated, I am sensing it will be more of a flamingo, which I would likely have to pass on. Therefore, by default I will go with Clauncher, but I will most likely change this soon! Beyond the elemental trio, I also prefer an electric type. I love Helioptile, and have high expectations on its evolutions. I was sold after watching the gameplay video in which it reveals its frills. Lastly, I could go with Malimar, Pangoro, Noivern, or Villion. I like all of them. Though, I bug-types are my favorite, and I am glad to see that the butterfly scales (of which all butterflies possess) have finally been featured in a design.

Tentative Line-up:

Kanzler July 23rd, 2013 10:39 PM

Noivern, Talonflame and Pangoro so far... I'm waiting for the starter evo's to be revealed before I make any further moves.

Nolafus July 23rd, 2013 10:47 PM

So far my team is shaping up to be like this:
Chespin
Malamar
Talonflame
Clauncher

These pokemon have just piqued my interest.

Treecko July 24th, 2013 12:28 AM

I really never have a full team planned out but this time I already have some I'm considering. I'm thinking of have either Fennekin or Chespin as my starter and Talonflame and Pangoro. If I pick Fennekin I might also have Gogoat as a Grass type. My starter choice depends on which has the better final evolution. The rest of the team depends on what Pokemon are revealed next or which previous Pokemon are in the game. If some previous gen Pokemon that I really like are in the game I might use them. I really like having mixed generation teams.

Hikamaru July 24th, 2013 1:51 AM

This is my planned team at this point, may change upon further reveals:

- Froakie (gotta have Water starter as always lol)
- Helioptile (Or maybe Malamar if my thoughts change)
- Sylveon (or Swirlix, I want to give the Fairy-type a shot)
- A Flying-type (Talonflame's type doesn't appeal to me so I'm hoping a good one gets revealed)
- A Fire-type (Maybe Litleo but I'm not sure)
- A Grass-type (Again, waiting for a good Grass Pokemon)

I'm still continuing my usual triangle of the three starter types present in my team, although since I'll eventually get both versions I might give some other Pokemon a shot in my other version. My main version is not decided until all version exclusives are revealed. Now that team listed above is assuming I use a 6th Gen-only team, but using old Pokemon wouldn't hurt either.

MarioManH July 24th, 2013 3:01 AM

I have no idea what my partying will be. For my game run through I usually just catch different type diversities and Pokemon that appeal to me. As for my competitive team, this is a different story since w/ this new type coming out, I will have to see what pairs best/worst with it so I can maintain a solid team.

Palkia July 24th, 2013 5:27 AM

I only really know one thing about my party right now. I won't be using a starter pokémon due to how disappointing gen 5's starters where.

Iceshadow3317 July 24th, 2013 5:36 AM

Let's see. I will most definitely have Pangoro and Talonflame as they are my two favorite of the ones revealed. I am also thinking of Honedge because I love swords. I am not into competitive battling so I usually only have pokemon I like.

I will probably switch between a lot of pokemon though. I think I used 10 to 15 different pokemon in Black and White. I love basically every pokemon this generation that has been shown.

PokeChris123 July 24th, 2013 6:53 AM

For me, it's too early to plan my team since I don't think there is enough Pokemon revealed, but if anything, I'll travel through Kalos catching new generation Pokemon only (with the exception of Eevee, because I want a Sylveon).
http://leviathyn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Sylveon.png

Z25 July 24th, 2013 8:28 AM

Chespin
pangoro
swirlix
litleo
novierion and
sylveon are my team so far

HollowQueen July 24th, 2013 10:23 AM

I think for my first run, I would want to use a team of only Gen VI Pokemon. This'll probably change as time goes on, but right now, my team will be:
~ Chespin (I always get the Grass starter. ^_^)
~ Spritzee (Gotta have a Fairy!)
~ Vivillon (I need a Bug)
~ Clauncher (It's super-cute and I really really hope its evo(s) get Electric as well)
~ Malamar (Dark/Psychic squid? YES PLEASE!)
~ Oorotto (Don't know it's typing yet, but it looks badass, so why not? :D)

Legobricks July 24th, 2013 12:37 PM

The only one I'm set on is Noivern.
Starter? I don't tend to use those, but Fennekin does have some appeal (which has admittedly lessened since I saw Talonflame).
As for the Eevee we will obviously receive, I might actually evolve it into Vaporeon if I can, or even not evolve it. I don't dislike Sylveon, I just expected it would be Normal.

The idea of doing a pure first generation team appeals in this day and age, but I doubt that'd be possible with the monsters I'd want to use (ie. ones I never have before) until post-game.

Pyrowolf July 24th, 2013 12:46 PM

Fennekkin
Weavile
Talonwing
Scizor
Kingdra
Hydregion

droomph July 24th, 2013 2:18 PM

I'm gonna go ahead and say no I don't have a party planned, but I would like someday to have pancham (i don't remember so just the panda guy) and Grovyle in the same team double-battling that **** out

but…you know, I'll see what I like for looks before I really decide, as that's pretty much the only thing that I really mind about my Pokémon.

Draqonite August 18th, 2013 2:45 PM

Got your team for Pokemon X and Y?

So i know that not all the pokemon have been leaked yet or there stats but based on their appearance and your preferences, which 6 pokemon would you be getting?

There are mine:

-Chespin
-Sylveon
-Helioptile
-Noivern
-Bunnelby
-Pancham

I like clauncher..but since im probably getting Y, then it might be a little difficult getting him.

TreeKangaroo August 18th, 2013 3:26 PM

Maybe clauncher will be like petilil and cottonee where you can trade one for the other?

Froakie
Noivern
Helioptile
Talonflame/Litleo(can't decide)
Malamar
Pangoro

Radiam August 18th, 2013 3:47 PM

Not exactly. I still want to see what other Pokemon will be announced because I don't like all of the announced Pokemon. I do have a few Pokemon in mind though. Might as well make a list. Not a full party, but just a few Pokemon. :3

Starter/First Party Member - Fennekin
Second Party Member - Malamar
Third Party Member - Lucario

I assume that Lucario will me available in the game, because it has a Mega Evolution. If not, then I will have to make another decision. That's all I have thought of right now. More will probably come later on. I also like having more than just 6 main Pokemon. I usually like to switch them out when they're not useful for something in the PC that is useful. :3

Aeroblast August 18th, 2013 4:11 PM

I'm not trying to be a mean party-pooper (pun not intended), but why not just wait until the game is released? We barely even know much about what Pokemon will be on the Kalos Pokedex. Talk about jumping the gun.

BeefTaco August 18th, 2013 4:15 PM

Usually on my first playthrought I choose random pokemon to be on my team. This time around I might save a spot for Pancham, he's just too awesome.

Livewire August 18th, 2013 4:18 PM

A bit premature, don't you think? Yes, I'm sure people may have a few picked out, but there's a lot more to be revealed. You might change your mind once you see what else we have to choose from. I will say this though, I'm pretty sure I will be using Fennekin, unless it's final evolutions are bad. (Seeing as we don't even have that much yet, I'd be willing to bet everybody's choices will change)

Rai August 18th, 2013 4:28 PM

Not yet. All I know is that I am going to start with Fennekin because I always chose a Fire Starter the first time I play through. I also want to have Dedenne on my team (just hoping it isn't too weak) because Electric is my favorite type and I also want to have a Fairy type on my team.

hughes August 18th, 2013 5:05 PM

I want to wait until I know all the pokemon available, but I do know I want to use all gen 6 Pokemon. I'll probably keep the Fennekin evolutions in my party, but everyone else will really depend on gym leaders and the Elite 4.

Firox August 18th, 2013 6:24 PM

So far I only have 2 Pokemon 100% & 2 like 50% confirmed to be in my team - at least for my first run of the game:

100% Confirmed in my team:
• Chespin, as my starter and main grass Pokemon
• Helioptile, as my electric Pokemon

I may use - 50% chance
• Litleo, that is if no other felines are introduced
• Pancham if no other fighting type introduced I like AND Mienfoo is not available before Elite 4.

Not yet decided, or I may need to wait:
• water type, always need one in my teams
• weasel-based Pokemon of Kalos, if none are introduced then I'll choose Sylveon AND Patrat is not available before Elite 4

I have one more possibility that might leave me an open slot, if two above are mixed (for example another fighting weasel or another water weasel [a.k.a. sea otters], or a water-type cat or a fighting type cat) then the open 6th Pokemon I will choose Sylveon.

FlamingRage August 18th, 2013 6:56 PM

My team will be

Froakie evolution
blaziken
that Y thing (assuming it's not one of those extremely post game events like black kyurem was.
Sylveon/Spritzee
Jolteon/Pikachu/Ampharos
Lucario.

I will likely completely overhaul this team except for Froakie and blaziken though lol.

Altair August 18th, 2013 7:00 PM

I haven't got my team planned out at all since there is so much more to be revealed. I'm however only going to use a full team of 6th Gen Pokemon in both X & Y.

Entermaid August 18th, 2013 8:53 PM

If I was forced to pick a team right now, regardless of evo's at gunpoint:

Chespin
Litleo
Skrelp (I would have to trade)
Helioptile
Swirlix
Noivern/Vivillion

I would suggest everyone to try the game out with Kalos exclusive pokemon for the first run through.

Superfox August 18th, 2013 9:41 PM

I'm not sure. I'll have to wait for the rest of the generation 6 Pokémon to be revealed. My parties usualy follow a specific formula. Although, I do have a partial roster picked out.

Not necessarily sure about my starter at this point. It'll most likely be Fennekin, though, as I haven't gone with a Fire starter since Chimchar in Diamond.

My second Pokémon, the first one I catch, has to have a three-stage evolution chain (its just a pattern I've followed ever since Sapphire). Since the only three-stager that's been revealed is Vivillion, who I'm not too big on, I plan to wait it out to decide on that one.

I'm considering picking up Fletchling (if only to have an HM slave for Fly) and Helioptile.

I also know that I want both a Fairy type (maybe Spritzee as I'm getting Y) and a Dragon type in my party. If Spritzee evolves into something really badass or cool looking, I'm totally getting it.

metalhand August 18th, 2013 9:52 PM

froakie final stage
mawile
honedge

thats it for now

Shrew August 18th, 2013 10:16 PM

I'm amazed how many people have finalized their teams based on the few pokemon revealed. In my team, I'm leaning towards:

-Chespin, but ONLY if it's final evolution is decent.
-Fletchling.
-Marill; I've wanted in one in both HGSS and BW2 but got sidetracked. It's new typing entices me, but there's no guarantees it'll be accessible in story mode.

alisaie August 18th, 2013 10:43 PM

I'm holding off on a team until we know more Pokemon. But at the rate this is going and how many new Pokemon I really like and want to try out I'm either going to end up with a team that has like.... 3 fairy types and 2 fire types and whatever. Or just mono fairy because they're all adorable. With that in mind I might just end up going with the flow with it comes to Pokemon X and Y build a team throughout the game.

classiccartoonsftw August 18th, 2013 11:38 PM

As of now, it's still Froakie, Talonflame, and Gengar for me.

Sneaky Truth August 19th, 2013 3:27 AM

I might decide to go with Chespin this time around as grass starters typically involve a more challenging game. Talonflame and Helioptile would make good editions to this team, but i'm hoping to pick up a high powered dragon-type and steel-type pokemon along the way.

One thing is for certain that I won't be using the event Torchic until i'm at a stage in the game where i'm able to soft-reset for an adamant nature with good IV's. I haven't had much experience in competitive battling before, but i'm hoping this will be a good chance to start, provided there is no hacked-mons from backwards compatibility.

Lucky1Yena August 19th, 2013 4:18 AM

Not all of the Pokémon have been revealed yet. But I know for a fact I'm starting with the fox Fennekin, and I'll try to obtain the event Torchic.

Gonna be a little disappointed if the little fox becomes another fire/fighting type when evolved though.

Blastin'Tyruntz August 19th, 2013 4:25 AM

i want to see what the game has to offer but i do know im definitely getting Froakie and Talonflame.

Mithel_Celestia August 19th, 2013 4:33 AM

for sure ill be choosing Fennekin as the starter and noivern as my flying. If absol is available, ill be getting one.

atomtanned August 19th, 2013 7:44 AM

I usually go for a complete dex, so I'm planning on catching everything that's available... but one constant I always have is that I keep my starter in my main team until I finish the elite 4...

I'm definitely going with Fennekin, because I always pick a fire starter :)

jellotime91 August 19th, 2013 7:45 AM

It's a little early to choose my entire time, but I know I will use:

Chespin
Malamar
(Dark/Psychic? I mean come on you HAVE TO use it)
Talonflame (Unless Litleo turns into an awesome Manticore with Fire/Poison typing)

I'm going to want dual-types with Water, Fairy, Poison, Ground, Flying, and maybe Dragon... so I will have to see what Pokemon are available to me. I definitely won't be using Sylveon, though, since I pretty much only use dual-type Pokemon.

Now THAT'S something I'd be using. Definitely.

Toxic, Will-o-Wisp, Venoshock (or maybe Gunk Shot), Flare Blitz... :D

Synerjee August 19th, 2013 8:26 AM

I haven't even thought about my X/Y team until now and I don't even know how to start thinking about this as not all the Pokemon have been released yet and thus little information to depend on. I also will need to get to know each and every one of the new Pokemon before deciding on my team as I don't want to be making bad decisions. As for now, all I can definitely say is that Pancham will be on it for sure. If I finally manage to get myself a 3DS and the game when it comes out.

blue August 19th, 2013 8:58 AM

I would've expceted to have seen more Pokémon by now, with less than two months to go and only 37 revealed I have a feeling we will be getting a lower amount than usual, around 80 maybe? Anyway so far my team is shaping up to be something liiike:

Fennekin (Fire/Psychic?)
Fletchling (Flying/Fire)
Inkay (Dark/Psychic)
Clauncher (Water)
Swirlix or Sylveon (Either way it's going to be a Fairy type)
??? (Reserved for a new, unrevealed Pokémon maybe)

Name August 19th, 2013 9:24 AM

My team would be
6x Mega Mawile.

... You can only have one mega Pokemon on your team at a time. Or I guess you're only allowed one mega evolution per battle is more likely. Though I doubt you're find 6 Mawilite stones in the game. :P

I know you guys don't necessarily have to follow my advice, but in my teams, I generally try to get all three of the starter types in there: Fire, Grass, and Water. They're very practical types to have as you'll most likely need them in a lot of battles. I mean, by having just those three types on your team, you can already counter about 8 different types effectively, many of which are very common types. And that's not counting any primary or secondary types the Pokémon you choose may have (you'd probably want to pick up a Grass Pokémon with another type to counter some of Grass' weaknesses).

Obviously, my starter (or your starter) fills one of those slots. But I heavily suggest picking up two more to fill the other two.

No way, I'll decide once I can see ALL the pokemon that is available in the game. The only one I know I will definetly have is the legendary from Y. Also I'm REALLY hoping for a dargon-type eevee!

Romaov August 19th, 2013 12:12 PM

I don't really like any of the new pokemon enough yet to say who's gonna be on my team, but what I CAN say is that torchic is a definite.

There must be some way of obtaining it because: http://www.marriland.com/pokemon-xy/mega-evolution/4899-mega-absol

Draqonite August 19th, 2013 6:09 PM

Having a fairy type in your team is probably going to be really usefull ,through out the story mode..so thats why im going to get Sylveon even though its not one of my favorite pokemon.

There are other Fairy types and there will most likely be more Fairy types introduced. So you don't have to get Sylveon if you don't like it.

Xander Olivieri August 20th, 2013 12:50 PM

I'm still looking into what they have. So many epic choices, so little time to choose now x_x

I wish I knew more Kalos Pokemon because I never use my Planned teams after finding something in game that intrigues me.

Only definate on my team is Froakie, my Starter....I really want Gogoat and Noivern too....Just don't have a planned team...I do have a very large lists of what I want to catch though XD

Sheep August 20th, 2013 1:26 PM

All I'm set on at the 'mo are Chespin and Sylveon. Other than that I'll probably just play normally and decide what I want to use as I go along. :3

Hiatus August 20th, 2013 1:41 PM

So far, I've decided to have Fennekin and Honedge on my team. They're two of my favorite six generation Pokémon. I may include Noivern, too, if it has a good move pool. =) I'm not really sure what the rest of my party will consist of. I'll decide when I get to play the game, I guess!

darkpokeball August 20th, 2013 2:14 PM

I'm not the type of person to use pre-set teams when I play a pokemon game. But, let's assume that the newly revealed pokemon are the ONLY pokemon usable in the new gen...this could end up to be my team:
Pokemon Y:
~Fennekin
~Spritzee
~Noivern
~Pancham
~Skrelp
~Heliptile
Alternates: (like, I'll catch them and train them so they're usable, but they're not exactly part of my main team)
~Yvetal
~Gogoat

Of course, all of 'em would be in their final evos.

tnfsf11 August 20th, 2013 2:49 PM

So far:
-Froakie/Skrelp
-Malamar
-Swirlix
-Helioptile
-Gogoat
-Talonflame/Blaziken (hopefully)

That's for the first run, might as well use pokes from other gens in future playthroughs.

Hikamaru August 20th, 2013 3:17 PM

Assuming I used a Kalos-only team, it would have been this:

- Froakie
- Pangoro
- Some random Flying Pokemon
- Swirlix (or maybe Sylveon)
- Some random Fire Pokemon
- Some random Grass Pokemon

So yeah, continuing my trend of a Grass/Fire/Water triangle with the starter covering one of the three types, with the other two going to Pokemon that as of this stage I have not decided yet. A Flying Pokemon is always mandatory because I love to fly around, Pangoro since I tend to use a Fighting-type somewhere (but the type's often random because it's one of my wildcard slots) and I also want to try a Fairy-type for once.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire August 20th, 2013 3:30 PM

I've rethought up my team. In the end I'll proably not use it as I rarely use my pre-planned team...

It'll be: Torchic, Talonflame, Fennekin, Gogoat, Helioptile, and the sixth is open.

Sirfetch’d August 20th, 2013 4:04 PM

I'd like to wait a bit more before selecting my team because if I planned it now in a few weeks when more Pokemon are revealed, I will be like "OMG must have on team!!" and have to change it. For now, Chespin and Honedge are the only guarantees for my team.

freddy f1shf1nger August 21st, 2013 4:34 AM

This is just my opinion but I have yet to see a Fairy type pokemon that I am interested in which is sad, because I think that the fairy type can be good, i just have little interest in it.

And so I have to say that I am looking more at: the evolution of Litleo, Malamar and Pangoro with either Chespin or Froakie as a starter

squirtle124 August 22nd, 2013 12:42 PM

team so far so x and y?

i was wondering if anyone has planned there pokemon team yet? or if you just wait and see how it ends up. for me its fenniken, tauros, dragonite, clauncher, and an evolution of eevee the 6th im still not sure about yet.everyone seems to like noivern but im not bothered about it. i really want to use tauros because i have never used one so far.so do you plan your pokemon team in advance or just wait to play it?

TheTorraRegion August 22nd, 2013 12:57 PM

(Igloo)

I don't know my whole team yet, but I want fennekin, noivern, and talonflame so far.
