Oh well. I have more than enough pokes to play with anyway, and I still have to breed that Togekiss.

Can always use Genesect to wreak havoc on the in-game stuff.

I see people using this Conkeldurr. I don't understand the logic behind maxing his Special Defense and not his HP. I know Assault Vest boost that S.Def investment by 50%, However I though HP was almost always better than investing in one defense stat.
Wouldn't No HP/No Def investment mean his is OHKOed by Talonflame, cuz TF is like the most common thing right now.

Conkeldurr
-Drain Punch
-Mach Punch
-Knock Off
-Ice Punch/Thunder Punch
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Atk/8 Def/248 SDef????
Item: Assault Vest
Ability: Guts

The reason why 248 Special Defense EVs are used to make Conkeldurr's uninvested physical Defense and its invested Special Defense this way equal to prevent Genesect from getting a Special Attack boost via Download. Another reasoning for this is because Conkeldurr's Special Defense is significantly lower than its HP. As a general rule of thumb, if the Pokemon's defenses are significantly lower than its HP, these stats get priority for investment (this applies to Drifblim, Blissey and Wobbuffet), and vice-versa. Leave Talonflame to teammates.

What's the best set for Mega Banette?

I got the following, but seeing as I've never really used Banette, it seems about as useful as Sableye.

Banette @ Banettite
Ability: Frisk/(Insomnia I guess would work for a Sleep switch-in)
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 HP / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Destiny Bond
- Shadow Sneak
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp

That's a pretty good set, haha. Here's another one, but it's pretty similar to yours, though:

Banette @ Banettite
Ability: Insomnia / Frisk
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Brave Nature
- Shadow Sneak
- Destiny Bond
- Taunt
- Thunderbolt

The coverage with Thunderbolt is appreciated, so that's an option I didn't really think of. I only thought WoW because of the priority burn, but that really leaves me with nothing for Normal/Dark types. And I feel like a more offensive spread like you mention would come in handy when I want someone to knock me out after Destiny Bond. Thanks for the input.

What's a good set for Trevenant and Hawlucha?

For Trevenant, I plan to get both a Natural Cure and the Harvest variant, so I will need suggestions for both.

As for Hawlucha, I want a non-Unburden variant since we don't have access to a flying gem, as far as I know.

Trevenant:
-Horn Leech/Wood Hammer
-Earthquake/Rock Slide
-Will-o-Wisp
-Rest
Nature: Impish
EVs: 252 HP/180 Def/76 Spe
Item: Leftovers/Lum Berry
Ability: Natural Cure/Harvest

or
-Horn Leech
-Shadow Claw/Leech Seed
-Will-o-Wisp
-Protect
Nature: Careful
EVs: 244 HP/16 Def/248 SDef
Item: Sitrus Berry
Ability: Harvest

or
-Substitute
-Leech Seed
-Will-o-Wisp
-Phantom Force
Nature: Impish
EVs: 252 HP/180 Def/76 Spe
Item: Sitrus Berry
Ability: Harvest

Even though Flying Gem isn't available, this is the only other viable way for Hawlucha to use Unburden:
-Substitute
-Swords Dance
-High Jump Kick
-Acrobatics
Nature: Adamant/Jolly
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Item: Liechi Berry
Ability: Unburden

Here's a much better offensive Mega Banette set for you to use:
-Phantom Force
-Sucker Punch
-Will-o-Wisp/Taunt
-Destiny Bond
Nature: Brave/Adamant
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Def
Item: Banettite
Ability: Frisk

Sucker Punch is stronger priority than Shadow Sneak; just putting that out there. This set is all about offensive pressure with some utility.

Edit: standard Mega Banette should look like this:
-Shadow Claw/Knock Off
-Taunt
-Will-o-Wisp
-Destiny Bond
Nature: Careful
EVs: 252 HP/40 Def/216 SDef
Item: Banettite
Ability: Frisk/Insomnia

I really like the first Trevenant set but I'm not entirely sure how to use it. I'm assuming after a rest, it switches out to something else? Assuming Leftovers & Natural Cure.

I will test out the other two Trev sets on Showdown.

As for Hawlucha, I was hoping for either a Mold Breaker or Limber set. I apologize if my wording was weird. But I never thought of using a Liechi Berry on Unburden Hawlucha, I'll play around with that set in Showdown. Thank you!

For that Trevenant set, assuming the Natural Cure variant, it's supposed to switch after Rest.

Some questions here, Blissey or Chansey? Toxic or Thunderwave on a Porygon2? Ice SHard or Ice Punch on a Weavile?

1. Chansey can take physical hits better thanks to Eviolite, but lacks offensive presence outside of Seismic Toss; it also lacks Leftovers recovery. Blissey, on the other hand, has Leftovers recovery and has enough Special Attack that it's not reliant on Seismic Toss for damage.
2. It depends on the team's needs. If your team is hampered by walls, use Toxic. If your team struggles with speedy offensive Pokemon, use Thunder Wave.
3. Ice Shard is preferred to let Weavile pick off weakened opponents, but Ice Punch is an alternative for more power.

Is it cheating if during battles I check my pokedex to see what my opponents pokemon is weak against?

The preferred Togekiss set should look like this:
-Thunder Wave/Nasty Plot
-Air Slash
-Aura Sphere/Dazzling Gleam/Nasty Plot
-Roost
Nature: Calm
EVs: 248 HP/8 Def/252 SDef

On the battle server? No, that's totally fine. Just keep an eye out for the timer because if you take too much time and not make your move in 300 seconds, your opponent will get the win.

Gale Wings just gives +1 priority to Flying moves. Protect has something like +4 priority, so Protect will always go before a Gale wings Flying attack.

Uh, maybe this?:

-Moewstic w/Light Clay

EVs: 252 HP, 252 Defense/Sp.Defense, 4 Sp.attack
Moves: Safeguard, Light Screen, Reflect/Quick Guard, Psyshock

It's actually better this Gen, since both males and females can pass down egg moves. It used to be only the male could.

Like many others since the release of x and y, I'm only just hopping onto this competitive battling train. I recently got a 4iv, timid shiny Cyndaquil, and was wondering what kind of moveset would be best? I realize there are better natures out there, but I'd like to use this shiny.

Nolafus February 10th, 2014 9:59 PM

Actually, Timid is a pretty good nature to have on Typhlosion. It struggles to make it's mark on the competitive game, but if you want to use it, try this out:

Typhlosion @ Choice Specs
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Eruption
- Focus Blast
- Extrasensory

This is pretty much the extent of its special movepool, so there's not a lot of choices on what to put on it.

Agreed, but Typhlosion is better off using Choice Scarf as the item, as 100 Speed may not be enough. Hidden Power Grass/Electric is also preferred to hit Water Pokemon without having to resort to Focus Blast.

I'd prefer to use Pokemon I like, rather than using just strong Pokemon from OU. It makes battling more fun, at least in my eyes. Thanks a lot for the advice! I'll start training this as soon as I get the Sp Attack item from the Battle place.

Do poison-type mons "absorb" Toxic Spike and completely removes them in the opponent's field?
I recently am trying to get used to throw Toxic Spikes with my Greninja on my first turn, but I'm starting to want to get rid of it. =/

Poison Pokemon remove Toxic Spikes upon switching into battle. This only applies to grounded Poison Pokemon; Weezing and Crobat can't remove Toxic Spikes because the former has Levitate as an ability, while the latter's second type is Flying.

Well, it depends. Could you list some of your most well-trained Pokémon? I'm currently using Togekiss, Espeon, and Blastoise for Masion and the like; they seem to be working perfectly fine for me. If you have these Pokémon, perhaps you could try the same? d:

My well trained pokemon are Greninja, Lapras, Blastoise, Venusaur, Blaziken, Charizard, Talonflame and Gengar. I traded my espeon, and I don't have togekiss. I'm very bad in battle, I just need to know a trio that works well.

If your Talonflame has Gale Wings and knows Brave Bird (or any other good flying-type attacks), then you should definitely give it a shot. :) If not, then maybe you should go with Charizard instead. As for other two, go with Gengar and either Blastoise or Greninja. Good luck!

If you can get your hands on a decent Kansgaskhan (Mega), I've found it's pretty good in the Battle Maison. If you set up with a couple Power-Up Punches, you can sweep most teams.

Plumpyfoof February 17th, 2014 6:37 AM

Real quick guys.

Need a counter for Azumarill and Talonflame my main two problems right now. With their priority speed isn't really too much of an issue.
I'm looking at Rotom Wash and was thinking something like:

Rotom-W @Rocky Helmet / Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EV's: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 SpA
Bold Nature (+Def -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Discharge
- Hydro Pump
- Reflect / Rest

My plan is really about taking care of both of them with the one guy, so Discharge and Hydro Pump are definite.
I'm really tossing up between Reflect and Rest. I'm not sure which to go with that will let me last longer against these two Pokemon specifically.
Reflect gives me extra defence and a little bit extra Rocky Helmet damage, but Rest gives me recovery at least once.

I'm more than open to completely different strategies that don't include Rotom also.

Team so far if you're interested:
Spoiler:

Hydreigon @Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EV's: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid nature (+Spe - Atk)
- Dragon Pulse
- Dark Pulse
- Surf
- Flash Cannon

Aegislash @Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EV's: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 SpD
Sassy Nature (+SpD - Spe)
- King's Shield
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Claw
- Sacred Sword

Infernape @Choice Scarf?
Ability: Iron Fist
EV's: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature (+Atk - SpA)
- Mach Punch
- Fire Punch
- Thunder Punch
- Earthquake

Will-o-Wisp is preferred for bulky Rotom to let it cripple Azumarill. While it won't do anything to Talonflame, Wash Rotom's bulk and typing are just enough to let it deal with it.

Feedback on team:

Hydreigon is best played as a wall breaker. It needs the raw power of Draco Meteor to achieve that purpose:
-Draco Meteor
-Dark Pulse
-Iron Tail/Superpower
-Fire Blast/Roost
Nature: Rash/Mild
EVs: 40 Atk/236 SAtk/232 Spe
Item: Life Orb

or
-Draco Meteor
-Dark Pulse
-Fire Blast/Earth Power
-Flash Cannon/Focus Blast
Nature: Modest
EVs: 24 HP/252 SAtk/232 Spe
Item: Choice Specs

SD/King's Shield Aegislash is easy to play around. It also has to use an Adamant nature so that it has more power behind it:
-Shadow Ball
-Sacred Sword
-Shadow Sneak/Iron Head
-King's Shield
Nature: Quiet
EVs: 240 HP/252 SAtk/16 Spe
Item: Leftovers

or
-Shadow Ball
-Sacred Sword
-Shadow Sneak
-King's Shield/Iron Head/Pursuit
Nature: Quiet
EVs: 244 Atk/252 SAtk/12 Spe
Item: Life Orb/Spooky Plate/Spell Tag

or
-Swords Dance
-Shadow Sneak
-Iron Head
-Sacred Sword/Head Smash
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Item: Life Orb

or
-Swords Dance
-King's Shield
-Shadow Sneak
-Sacred Sword
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 SDef
Item: Leftovers

or
-Autotomize
-Shadow Ball
-Hidden Power (Ice)
-Sacred Sword/Iron Head/Flash Cannon
Nature: Rash/Modest
EVs: 88 Atk/252 SAtk/168 Spe
Item: Life Orb/Weakness Policy

or
-Shadow Ball
-Pursuit
-Toxic
-King's Shield
Nature: Sassy
EVs: 252 HP/4 SAtk/252 SDef
Item: Leftovers

Mach Punch's priority is redundant with the Speed boost Choice Scarf provides for Infernape. An Iron Fist-boosted STAB Fire Punch is still weaker than a STAB Flare Blitz. Infernape is still best played as a mixed attacker:
-Fire Blast/Flare Blitz
-Close Combat
-Hidden Power (Ice)
-Thunder Punch/U-turn/Mach Punch
Nature: Hasty/Naive
EVs: 212 Atk/44 SAtk/252 Spe
Item: Life Orb

Alright so I'll give Rotom Will-o-Wisp Cheers.

Also I see what you're saying about the team and agree with you about Hydreigon and Infernape, but I'm sorry everything you suggested about Aegislash is just wrong. With max bulk investment and as little speed as possible I make use of Shield Forme to set up SD and stall Leftovers recovery. I can get two SD's comfortably if I make a good switch and have Screens up which is enough to put major holes in my enemies team. By foregoing revenge kills altogether and exercising some patience I usually come out with Aegislash still alive.

I don't agree with a defensive spread on SD + King's Shield Aegislash. Even with defensive investment, Blade Forme Aegislash is still defensively weak.

While I did indeed post a defensive Aegislash set, it's designed for defensive teams; it acts as a lure for its counters and cripples them with Toxic.

It depends. What game is this Magnezone on, and what TMs do you currently have?

But Thunderbolt and Flash Cannon are a couple of decent moves for it.

What's the best chain fished shiny compeitive wise, as in which is the best for online battles? Also can you give me a moveset that would go well with it,
Thanks in advance

Competitively, here are the best Pokemon found by fishing (note that while Politoed can indeed be found by fishing, it's only good with Drizzle; Swift Swim Poliwhirl can be found in the Friend Safari. The same applies to Corphish and Crawdaunt, but with Adaptability instead):

Gyarados:
-Dragon Dance
-Waterfall
-Earthquake
-Bite/Stone Edge/Substitute
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 32 HP/252 Atk/224 Spe
Item: Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate

or
-Substitute/Taunt
-Dragon Dance
-Waterfall
-Earthquake/Bounce
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 120 HP/64 Atk/100 Def/224 Spe
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate

or
-Dragon Dance
-Waterfall
-Earthquake
-Bounce/Stone Edge
Nature: Adamant/Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe
Item: Life Orb/Lum Berry

or
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
-Waterfall
-Dragon Tail/Roar
Nature: Impish
EVs: 248 HP/252 Def/8 SDef
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate

Starmie:
-Hydro Pump/Surf
-Psyshock/Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam
-Rapid Spin
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SAtk/4 SDef/252 Spe
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure

Cloyster (you'll need to breed for Rock Blast):
-Shell Smash
-Icicle Spear
-Rock Blast
-Razor Shell/Hydro Pump
Nature: Adamant/Naughty/Jolly/Naive
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Item: White Herb/Lum Berry

Nature: Rash/Modest
EVs: 80 Atk/252 SAtk/176 Spe
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim

Clawitzer:
-Water Pulse
-Aura Sphere
-Ice Beam/Dragon Pulse
-Dark Pulse/U-turn
Nature: Modest

While I did indeed post a defensive Aegislash set, it's designed for defensive teams; it acts as a lure for its counters and cripples them with Toxic.

I'm never going to be in a situation where I'm being attacked in Blade Forme because King's Shield has priority and with 112 speed there isn't going to be much coming up from behind, unless of course Trick room is up.

As I mentioned, Swords Dance + King's Shield is easily played around. That's because it's easy to predict when you'll use King's Shield, and that's right after you attack. The opponent can just set up on you as you use King's Shield, or switch to an appropriate counter.

Hi! I'm trying to build a stall Sylveon and I can't decide which EV spread to choose. 252 HP/4 Def/252 SpDef or 4 HP/252 Def/252 SpDef? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

252 HP/244 Def/12 Spe with a Bold nature is preferred, as it lets Sylveon take advantage of its physically-based resistances; this spread also lets it outspeed Tyranitar. And here's the most preferred defensive Sylveon set:
-Wish
-Protect
-Hyper Voice
-Heal Bell/Calm Mind
Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP/244 Def/12 Spe
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Pixialte

Shrew February 20th, 2014 12:04 PM

I have a Bold Altaria with bad IVs. It's a shiny a friend gave to me with sentimental value, so I still want to use it in battle to its best capabilities, even if it's not the best competitive choice. Egg moves and past generation move tutors are out of the question.

It's current EV spread is 252 HP/252 SpA. I'm thinking of using the combination of Rest/Natural Cure. I thought Life Orb would work well with that combination to heal off, but then it seems counter-intuitive to run max HP for a pokemon holding Life Orb. Should I run EVs in def/spdef, or should I consider another item? I know for a fact I don't want Choice Specs; even though it was recommended by smogon in the previous generation, the influx of fairies makes this sound bad. Not sure what moves I want at all... I have access to HP Steel, although 60 base power is meh.

Life Orb is still kind of viable since you can use Roost to heal off the damage. Here's my best bet for a defensive Altaria like this:
-Dragon Pulse
-Roost
-Fire Blast/Flamethrower
-Toxic/Roar
Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure

I have the first post of page 39!
bwahahahahah!

Ahem, anyway... A question.
I was participating in Ratings Battle earlier on my lunch break, and on my last battle, my foe and I were down to our last PKMN: my Sylveon against his Glalie.
But he kept spamming Sheer Cold.
Does that move work on online battles where PKMN levels are adjusted to lv50?

It still works, but it's notoriously inaccurate. It only works on Pokemon that are at an equal or lower level than the user.

So, the ability Pixilate.
True or false, Pixilate indeed does boost the power of Normal type moves by 30% as well as converting them to Fairy type. Stacking with the STAB 50% if used by a Fairy type Pokemon.

True. So really, every Normal move gets a 195% boost (I think). If that calculation's not right, all you need to know is 30% does indeed stack with STAB.

Flareon. I wanna use one in casual battles with my friends. Most of them only half-heartedly EV train so I thought it might be interesting to mess around with some EV trained, but less initially good Pokemon.

How are his options looking for this gen now that he has Flare Blitz? Is Guts Flareon still a good bet and what sets are looking good?

Be aware that Guts Flareon will wear itself down fast with Flare Blitz and Toxic damage:
-Flame Charge
-Flare Blitz
-Facade
-Superpower
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe
Item: Toxic Orb
Ability: Guts

Hmm. It looks like Superpower is a tutor-only move. Does that mean I can't have it on a Flareon bred in this gen?

If you have Black2/White2 and PokeBank you can. Or get one from someone in a trade who does have those things.

JayTheKing February 22nd, 2014 1:01 PM

So i have read that if i EV train a level 100 pokemon that has 0 EVs it will still get stat boosts. Is it true for this gen?

I like all my Pokemon to be bred on my own game and I don't want to go through IV breeding on Black2. Is it impossible to get Superpower on it then? Does anyone know if Z will have tutoring?

And if so what are viable alternatives?

If you're not willing to breed one on your Black 2 or get one from someone else, then you can't get superpower on Flareon. I would like to think that Z will have move tutors, but there's no way to know for certain; there hasn't even been an official annoucement of the game. There isn't really any viable alternatives to Superpower that I can think of; Flareon's movepool is as shallow as a kiddie pool.

Okay thanks.

Also: Since Gyarados can have Moxie and Double-Edge this time around is it worth putting on him? The guides from BW look iffy on it because it used to prevent him from having Moxie.

Not Mega Gyarados, mind you - I want to use him as an offensive pivot with a Jolteon so I want his Ground immunity.

Flying Pikachu

Hey guys,

recently got a lv.50 Pikachu in a Cherish Ball from a passerby trade.
I hadn't actually grabbed Pikachu and I traded a Rayquaza I got from GTS for this Pikachu.

I've googled / serebii / bulbapedia'd the OT and ID and it's come back as an event special 'Flying Pikachu'

After briefly being disappointed about the lack of a different model / sprite (the Pokemon Snap one would've been AWESOME) I wondered if with the right EV's this little fella could grab a LightBall and join my BattleBox!

I'm sure Fly on a Pikachu would be unexpected!

Obviously it'd presumably retain Fly when evolving to Raichu?

Also, does anyone know if breeding will produce Pikachu's able to learn Fly?

Fly is a special move for Pikachu; it's also not one of its Egg moves, so it can't be passed down to other Pikachu. Also, Pokemon retain their moves when they evolve, and this applies to Flying Pikachu. And I wouldn't recommend using Fly; it's too easily played around.

What would be a good third member for this Battle Maison (Super Singles) team?:

-Klefki w/Light Clay
Nature: Impish
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP, 126 Defense, 126 Sp.Defense
Moves: Foul Play, Thunder Wave, Reflect, Light Screen

-Gyarados w/Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 156 HP, 72 Attack, 96 Defense, 184 Sp.Defense
Moves: Waterfall, Bounce, Taunt, Dragon Dance

And should I even bother trying to do it with these 2 as well?

destinedjagold February 23rd, 2014 2:48 PM

Ahoy pipol~
I wanna ask: how does the held item [Iron Ball] work?
I tried making my PKMN that knows Earthquake hold this item, but it doesn't work against flying-type mons. =/
The description of Iron Ball is...

"An item to be held by a Pokémon.
It lowers Speed and allowes Ground-type
moves to hit Flying-type and levitating holders."

Super Bling February 23rd, 2014 2:56 PM

Iron Ball only works if the opposing mon is holding it.

So use Trick or Switcheroo to get the other Pokemon holding it.

For me at least, I wouldn't have the patience to set up screens or anything. Idk the only thing I can think of at the moment is Nidoking. A decent special attacker to cover the Electric and Rock weakness Gyarados has. I always recommend Mega-Kang for Battle Maison, but idk that's just me.

Iron Ball makes the holder susceptible to Ground moves, it doesn't allow the holder to hit others with Ground moves.

Edit: Beat to it.

Maybe I'll try something else then. I'm not terribly patient either. And getting a Sheer Force Nidoking requires work...not to mention I've never been into Nidoking that much.

I've tried Mega Kangaskhan before, but obviously I have yet to win. Who do you recommend that I pair Mega Kangaskhan with? Maybe I just haven't been teaming it up with the right pokes or something...

I basically run hyper offense. Usually take Azumarill and Aegislash. The only consistent "problem" I run into is Spiritomb, so fairy can take care of that. And for any fighting types that outspeed, or just anything with Focus Blast, Aegislash is a good absorber. Lead with Kangaskhan, judge whether I can get a Power-up Punch in, even if it's not very effective, and then I proceed to sweep most teams.

[Team Help] Movesets for Mew?

Hey everyone! I hope I'm doing this right.

I have a LV5 event Mew and I've got no idea what moves to give it. It's lonely nature and has synchronize as its ability. I'm not a competitive battler by any means (though I enjoy a battle time and again), I'm just looking for a well-rounded moveset since Mew will probably be a fixture on my team for a while and can literally learn any move.

I'm currently with this, now.
Greninja w Mystic Water
Water/Dark
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Moves: Surf, Ice Beam, Dark Pulse, Extrasensory

Sylveon w Pixie Plate
Fairy
Ability: Cute Charm
Nature: Modest
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spd
Moves: Draining Kiss, Moon Blast, Psyshock, Dig

Porygon-Z w Life Orb
Normal
Ability: Adaptability
Nature: Modest
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4HP
Moves: Nasty Plot, Hyper Beam, Tri Attack, Hidden Power

Heliolisk w Choice Specs
Electric/Normal
Ability: Solar Power
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Moves: Grass Knot, Hidden Power, Volt Switch, Thunderbolt

Anybody can help me filling the other two slots cause I can't decide much about it. Please rate my team so I could improve it a bit. ;)

You need to specify your Pokemon's Hidden Power types.

Greninja should always use its Protean ability:
-Hydro Pump/Surf
-Ice Beam/Dark Pulse
-Extrasensory/Dark Pulse
-U-turn/Hidden Power (Fire/Grass)/Grass Knot
Nature: Naive/Timid
EVs: 4 Atk/252 SAtk/252 Spe
Item: Life Orb/Expert Belt
Ability: Protean

or
-Spikes
-Hydro Pump/Surf
-Ice Beam
-U-turn/Extrasensory
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
Item: Life Orb/Focus Sash

Draining Kiss is too weak; not even its healing effect can save it from being unusable. Dig also works off of Sylveon's terrible Attack. While Pixilate + Hyper Voice is preferred for Sylveon, Moonblast + Cute Charm is an acceptable alternative if you can't transfer from Poke Bank:
-Wish
-Protect
-Hyper Voice
-Heal Bell/Calm Mind
Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP/244 Def/12 Spe
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate

or
-Hyper Voice
-Shadow Ball
-Psyshock
-Hidden Power (Fire)/Baton Pass
Nature: Modest
EVs: 244 HP/252 SAtk/12 Spe
Item: Choice Specs
Ability: Pixilate

Hyper Beam is a big no-no move on Porygon-Z. It leaves it a sitting duck the turn after it's used:
-Nasty Plot
-Tri Attack
-Dark Pulse
-Hidden Power (Fighting)
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Adaptability

Other Adaptability users are Crawdaunt and Mega Lucario (note that the latter is an Uber in simulators):

Crawdaunt:
-Crab Hammer
-Knock Off
-Aqua Jet
-Crunch/Swords Dance
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Item: Choice Band/Life Orb/Mystic Water
Ability: Adaptability

Mega Lucario:
-Swords Dance
-Close Combat
-Extreme Speed
-Crunch/Ice Punch/Bullet Punch/Shadow Claw
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Item: Lucarionite

or
-Nasty Plot
-Aura Sphere
-Flash Cannon
-Dark Pulse/Shadow Ball/Vacuum Wave
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
Item: Lucarionite
Ability: Inner Focus/Steadfast

I think that Heliolisk is somewhat subpar. It doesn't have a way to hit Dragons effectively outside of Hidden Power. Wash Rotom is better, IMO, as it can counter Talonflame:

or
-Volt Switch
-Hydro Pump
-Hidden Power (Ice)/Thunderbolt
-Will-o-Wisp
Nature: Modest
EVs: 228 HP/60 SAtk/220 Spe
Item: Leftovers

or
-Volt Switch
-Hydro Pump
-Thunderbolt/Hidden Power (Ice)
-Trick
Nature: Timid/Modest
EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
Item: Choice Scarf

A hazard setter would be ideal for this team, like Ferrothorn or Skarmory:

Ferrothorn:
-Spikes/Stealth Rock
-Leech Seed
-Gyro Ball/Thunder Wave
-Power Whip/Protect
Nature: Relaxed
EVs: 252 HP/48 Def/208 SDef
Item: Leftovers/Shed Shell/Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs

Skarmory:
-Roost
-Whirlwind
-Stealth Rock/Spikes/Brave Bird
-Defog/Brave Bird
Nature: Bold/Impish
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef or 252 HP/16 Def/240 SDef
Item: Leftovers/Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy

or
-Spikes
-Roost
-Whirlwind
-Taunt/Brave Bird
Nature: Bold/Impish
EVs: 252 HP/184 Def/72 Spe
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy

Can't think of anything for the 6th slot, atm.

This is probably a totally basic question, but I can't find the answer :(

When two Pokemon with abilities that invoke weather are sent out at the same time, what determines which weather condition prevails?

The slower Pokemon gets its weather up.

Ex: both players send out Ninetales and Politoed at the same time. First, Ninetales' Drought activates, turning the weather to harsh sunlight. Then Politoed's Drizzle changes it to rain, as it has less Speed than Ninetales (unless Politoed is holding Choice Scarf and uses a Timid nature with 252 Speed EVs, which makes it faster than Ninetales).

Uhm, I am not so sure about that. Xerneas is Ubers as per Smogon's banlist so you need not to worry about it in standard OU play. However if you are playing somewhere else that does not adhere to Smogon's rules then ignore this post.

Uhm, I am not so sure about that. Xerneas is Ubers as per Smogon's banlist so you need not to worry about it in standard OU play. However if you are playing somewhere else that does not adhere to Smogon's rules then ignore this post.

Oh, it's just that I like to play in Battle Spot and I've seen that thing quite often. I don't like to use Ubers myself so I'm searching for a counter who is not uber.

Doesn't Psyshock destroy them though?

No, it is a 3hko/2hko at best (meaning a Modest 252 SpA EVs Xerneas with +2 SpA) respectively. Even Focus Blast is a 2hko at best.

I'm thinking about using a Trevenant and wondering what a good moveset would be for it?
It'll have it's HA Harvest and for nature i'm thinking careful. Any thoughts?

What would be the best set for a doubles Jellicent? I assume it deviates from the more standard single set?

Which is better for a Stalling Vespiquen? Roost or Heal Order?

Roost. If Vespiquen somehow gets the Roost off first, it sheds its weaknesses to Ice and Electric the turn it's used; it also reduces its Rock weakness.

Hey guys~

I've been trying to breed a perfect IV Eevee. How can I tell if it has perfect IV's?

Take it to the IV judge in Kiloude City's Pokemon Center. He's the guy in the corner with the purple hair. Show him the Eevee, and if it has prefect IVs in all 6 stats, he should say something like: "This Pokemon has outstanding potential", then mention all 6 stats and say how they "can't be beat". That means you have a perfect IV Eevee

There's also something about an IV calculator, which somebody will come along and post about soon enough....

Show should I EV-train my new X&Y Pokémon?

I really hope this is the right forum.

Anyway.

I have a Noivern (timid) all its IV's are 31, except for "Attack". It has "Infiltrator". But I have no idea how I should EV-train it.

Then I have a Pyroar (modest) all its IV's are also 31, except for "Attack". It has "Unnerve". And I don't know how I should EV-train this one either.

Anyone with suggestions? Or someone who is a competitive EV-training expert?

For both of them its just best to pour all of their EVs into Special attack and Speed. Do you need movesets as well?

Hey guys.

So I've kinda been wanting to use a Furfrou. I know he's kinda baaad, being a physical tank weak to Fighting types with no recovery. Knowing that and wanting to use him anyway, what teammates can I use to maximize the poodle Pokemon's potential? I don't need movesets or EVs, just some suggestions of what Pokemon to look at to help support the little guy (or maybe some Pokemon you think he's good at supporting).

Ghost types generally make good teammates for Normal types, since they cover Normal's sole Fighting weakness, while Normals are immune to Ghosts Ghost weakness. You want a special wall/tank as well, since Furfrou handles the physical side of things.

I hate to repost my issue, but I'm still having problems breeding this Eevee. I've gotten one with 3 perfect IV's, but that's all. I've hatched many Eevee, but still no dice. Any breeding advice?

Are there any Ghost types that make good special tanks besides Jellicent or is he my best bet?

Read this and this.

The gist of this is to catch some 31 IV parents and use the Destiny Knot.

A mixed Arceus is a rare sight. It depends on what form/type/plate your Arceus is. So what's its form?
