Eh, it actually took decent damage, but it JUST got its HP reduced to half.

Chalifoux August 24th, 2013 10:28 AM

Hmm... I don't know if this video has been added here or not...
I found this video on pokebeach and it has some very clear audio :o
You can even listen to Professor Sycamore's delicious theme music :3 And Pikachu's cry is literally a "Pika Pi" :o

I can't remember where I read it, but I'm pretty sure that the anime 'Pikachu' voice was only for the demo. Let me see if I can find a source...

Seapeekay August 24th, 2013 11:06 AM

Shiny Fennekin! Huge change from the it's standard palette.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire August 24th, 2013 11:38 AM

Wow, Shiny Fennekin sure looks different (especially compared to Flabebe and it's shiny).

Oohhh, It doesn't look so bad...
The colors look weird at first, but it doesn't look that bad.

Nay, forget that. It actually looks good.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire August 24th, 2013 11:46 AM

Yeah, at first the purple on it seemed odd but one gets used to it.
Now to see shiny Chespin and Froakie. I can see shiny Froakie being green, and shiny Chespin being orange.

blue August 24th, 2013 12:18 PM

These shinies are looking great, lilac Fennekin looks completely different to Yellow Fennekin! ^^

Hiatus August 24th, 2013 1:18 PM

Fennekin is a very cute Pokémon, and I'm a huge fan of it. I'm not very into its shiny form, though. Its palettes just look a little awkward to me. Red and purple don't go together at all, in my opinion. It would have been much better if it was a combination of red and orange instead, or maybe even red and maroon. Red and black could also work, but that'll probably end up making it look a lot like Zorua. Haha~

Hmmmm... I mean it achieves its function as a Shiny and it least it doesn't suffer from 'Shiny-Garchomp Syndrome', but I still prefer the normal-coloured one (and Fennekin isn't even my favourite starter - Chespin is!) If I'm honest, I was hoping that the shiny Fennekin would look something more like this (even if it would have the same colourings as Shiny Ninetales):

Purple looks kinda odd on Fennekin, but I'm hoping Froakie's shiny colors turn out better because who knows it might be the best of the shiny starters!

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire August 24th, 2013 4:34 PM

Shiny Chespin looks too similar, while Fennekin looks too odd and different, so lets hope Froakie isn't too different or too similar to it's none shiny self.

Oshamaru August 24th, 2013 5:54 PM

Maybe if they would have made the ear hair blue or green it could have looked better.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire August 24th, 2013 6:06 PM

Yeah, blue or even green ear fur would've looked better. Orange and Purple clash so they don't look good together...

Actually that does make more sense than it being low health. Cause it wouldn't make much sense to say it looks like Honedge is about to cry. It doesn't have eyes. And what about Bonsly? his pokedex states that when it looks like it's crying, it's actually just adjusting it's bodily fluids.

Ok so they could still easily make some pokemon have different messages, so it still could go either way. But I'll hope for it being an ability.

Entermaid August 24th, 2013 7:48 PM

I'd rather the natures correspond with the messages. Then natures would feel more personal rather than a base stat modifier.

Shrew August 24th, 2013 8:11 PM

The only Kalos shiny of the ones I've seen (starters, Flabebe, Gogoat, Sylveon), Froakkie and Sylveon are the only ones I like.

I've wanted this ever since Pokemon Battle Revolution came out. ^^

Entermaid August 24th, 2013 8:32 PM

I'm sorry, the Froakie one is fake.

Notice the blue outline? Also, it's a partial screen shot, which doesn't help its case.

That's a great idea. The crying Chespin can be a timid one...
A Brave natured Pokémon can have something like " Fennekin (using as an example) is still determined to win".

Yeah I'd like to see the natures expanded upon in battle like that, by having the flavor text correspond to the nature. That would definitely be something I'd like to see happen.

The closest city to me on that list has it this weekend, when I coincidentally don't have any shifts ;)
But that's still a long drive, so I don't think it's worth it for a quick demo...

Entermaid September 2nd, 2013 6:54 PM

So, we missed one thing. Or at least I did. There will be gender differences, perhaps like D/P. In the demo there were female's with the heart-shaped ends on its tail.

Yeah they'll most likely retain the gender differences from the last generation, but I'm hoping Kalos introduces more Pokemon with gender differences since Unova only had like, three, two of which were in the same evolution line.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire September 2nd, 2013 10:22 PM

I hope that they do more than just Pikachu style heart shape tails as gender differences...

billyjoseph September 3rd, 2013 6:13 AM

I don't like any of the fairies yet to think of using any on my team, besides Xerneas of course. Sylveon is my least favorite Evee evolution. The other fairies are just basic concepts.

Me too! At first I thought about using mawile because I wanted to use a retyped pokemon which I never got to use before. But now that I see how adorable he is I think I will use him, at least for the pokemon-Amie :P
