Pokémon X & Y Music!

So we're just two months away from the release of Pokemon X and Y and I think many of us are eager not just to play the games, but to hear the soundtracks in-game! Well since the Demo event in Japan, more of the games soundtracks have surfaced which include Mega Evolutions, Gym Leader and Rival Battle. I'm sure plenty more will be surfacing in due course but here are some of the ones we have so far.

Spoiler:

Seems like the music theme for this generation is heavily based on Guitars eh! But do you like the soundtracks so far? Discuss!

Wobbu August 17th, 2013 2:52 PM

They aren't bad, but they aren't my favorite themes. The instruments are definitely a better quality than the ones used in previous games (but that was expected). These themes sound slightly like Colosseum's and XD's, but not quite as good imo. I'm sure I'll grow to like them, like I do with most songs I listen to.

Rivvon August 17th, 2013 3:06 PM

The Skiddo riding theme is the greatest of what we've heard so far, just my not-so-humble opinion.

Also, it's not linked here, but the "Gym Leader (rumored)" was confirmed; at World's it was played and announced as the Gym Leader battle music.

curiousnathan August 17th, 2013 4:23 PM

I quite like them; especially the rival battle theme that sounds like a track from CRASH BANDICOOT; the feels! ♥

Treecko August 19th, 2013 2:44 PM

None of them in the OP seem official now cause some person at the Pokemon Game Show brought an audio recording device with them and recorded the battle and other music played during the demo. These are probably official.

Spoiler:

It's also being said that older Pokemon are getting updated cries too. You can hear Crobat's and Mewtwo's in the Trainer Battle one (or first one) and Pikachu's cry being replace by it's anime voice in the Wild Battle one (or third one). Though it's said that Pikachu having it's anime was just used for promotional reasons at the Game Show so it could just be a remastered version in the actual game like Crobat's and Mewtwos are.

I'm glad they're updating the cries (And may be the only one). Yeah I'll miss hearing the old ones, but it's overdue. It never made since to me why they still had old 8-bit cries in the newer games when they had technology to revamp and remaster them. I can appreciate them taking advantage of the technology available on the 3DS. Hopefully they make different cries for some of the Pokemon that had similar cries cause it would give each Pokemon a different personality and not all sound the same.

Now on the actual music, I really like it. Skiddo riding one is my favorite so farcause of how fun and dancey it is. The rival themes are cool too and so is the Wild Battle Theme. The Congratulations on Evolving Theme and Trainer Victory theme are similar to past ones, but that was expected cause it's always been similar. I hope the Gym Leaders get their own music again like in Black 2 and White 2 cause that made the Gym Leaders have much more personality.

The field theme will drive me crazy, but the rest are pretty badass.

Altair August 19th, 2013 3:36 PM

Nice to see the Victory over trainer theme hasn't changed, I've always liked that tune. As for the rest, I find them much more better than Gen V (not saying it's bad), they sound really catchy! I'm looking forward to the soundtrack that's being released too.

Arca09 August 19th, 2013 3:40 PM

They're all pretty good, but I feel they don't give me that blood pumping feeling. I'll probably get used to it when I get to actually listen to it in game though.

Aeroblast August 19th, 2013 8:18 PM

So far none of the music really stand out and give me the feeling of wanting more, but I'm probably being harsh because it's only 5 of all the themes so far. I hope the rest of the music, or at least some of them, are a bit better.

Those themes are better than the ones in the OP, to be honest. I'm really hoping that those are the official themes. The themes in the OP sound like beta versions of the themes you posted.

I'm pretty sure those cries were just used for promotional purposes, because I remember reading on Serebii that all Pokémon' cries will retain their original quality. When I heard Pikachu say its name I was thinking, "What is this I don't even..."

I don't know I thought I heard at least from Bulba that only Pikachu's cry was for promotional used but they were remastering all the cries. Them remastering all the cries would make since to me cause why would they just do it for a demo but not for the real games? Pikachu's voice being used in demos I get but only having remastered cries in the demo doesn't really. I don't I could be wrong. I'll just wait till the games are out before judging.

metalhand August 19th, 2013 11:53 PM

I like most the music so far except for the mega evo music, which seem to try too hard to create a tense atmosphire or something like this.

The skiddo riding music making me feel like I'm in the circus, I like it XD

madisonblue96 August 20th, 2013 4:59 AM

I love it! The mega evolutions song really surprised me though, I would have NEVER expected something like that! I think they will all really grow on me though, just like all the others have:3

giradialkia August 20th, 2013 5:29 AM

Hmm. I dunno how I feel about these yet (assuming they're accurate). Seems a bit like they're taking snippets of melodies from older battle tracks and changing them, but not necessarily well. They also generally follow the same pattern as older tracks (in terms of phrases and stuff); feels kinda predictable or something. Not to overanalyse them, hahaha.

On the other hand, I actually reeeeeeeeeeeally hope that Mega Evolution battles will have a theme (and that it's the one in the first post). It's so hectic and rapid and SCREAMING-GUITARRY, really works for me! :D

BubbleBeams August 20th, 2013 8:10 AM

Assuming that these are all official, some of it I'm really feeling (I love the regular trainer battle and wild pokemon battle music) and others I'm not sold on yet.

But the music has always been my favorite thing about the games, usually from the feel it gives to the games. I was iffy about a lot of music from Gens IV and V as well but it's all grown on me very much so I'm sure this music will as well.

I do love the use of guitar in these themes.

.Wolfie-kun. August 20th, 2013 2:12 PM

I really like the rock music approach they are going with this time! But the rival theme is the only one I'm not really warming to yet.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire August 20th, 2013 3:24 PM

These new pieces of music felt similar to Sinnoh and Unova's yet different at the same time. I hope some of the music have trumpets and guitar.

freddy f1shf1nger August 21st, 2013 4:39 AM

Appoligies if this has already been said, but I believe that the soundtracks will be available on Itunes which could be very interesting to see how the sales go for it. Because I am guessing that it will be a mediocre thing that will do ok but in the long run not have been as successful as Nintendo were hoping.

Yeah, there's going to be 202 tracks iirc which should be nice.

freddy f1shf1nger August 21st, 2013 5:13 AM

202 tracks :O, Looks like car trips are now nothing but Pokemon Music :P

ballin'Blissey August 21st, 2013 12:22 PM

Gen 3 nailed it with the trumpets and now Gen 6 is nailing it with the guitar <3

Vin_Prismriver August 21st, 2013 12:57 PM

Looking really forward to the new cries, I never liked that some pokémon had the same cry, but I guess it couldn't be helped then.

blue August 21st, 2013 1:51 PM

Updated the OP replacing some of the exsisting tracks with higher quality extracted soundtracks from the Demo, also added the newer pieces which include Skiddo Ride Theme, Rival Encounter Theme, New Route/Field Theme and Congratulatory Evolution Theme.

Hikamaru August 22nd, 2013 7:25 PM

I like how the Trainer battle music gives off a throwback to Hoenn, but yeah I love how fast-paced a lot of X & Y's music sounds in comparison to the varying sounds we had in 5th Gen.

DamienHelvian August 28th, 2013 8:45 PM

I wonder if there are going to be any...ghostly towns like Lavender Town, and what kind of music it'd have...
Nothing will ever beat the original Lavender Town theme in creepiness and keep-you-awake ability, but still, we haven't really had many scores like that.

Noscium August 29th, 2013 1:54 AM

We have finally a good rival battle theme!

Hovewer the XY soundfont looks greats, I really have haste to discover the whole soundtrack.

blue August 29th, 2013 2:12 AM

The Trainer battle theme is by far my favorite out of any Trainer Battle theme, it just seems much more upbeat and instrumental compared to the previous tracks.

Aamelo August 29th, 2013 5:27 AM

I have to say I personally liked most of the tracks but as some other people they aren't really in the top of the favorites, yet, many of the tracks, listened a few times really stay on the ear and actually are enjoyable.

I hope the route/field theme is actually the first route theme as I actually can't seem to fit it anywhere else. My favorite of the already seen tracks are the Trainer Battle and Wild Battle, as they seem to have some "classic" influence in them.

Yet, I still expect the music of this game to surprise us in a very special way.

I really hope to see the new lavender town in kalos, I really miss the creepy vibe that you get there.

A prety cool refernece would a graveyard under lumiose city

ilias_ August 29th, 2013 9:31 AM

I love the new music so much!!! Everything is beautiful!

Please tell me what's the instrument they used for the Skiddo music! It is so funny lol :) :)

Just not so...Nightmare inducing. I want creepy, but not, disturbing.
We don't want a new series of creepypastas, do we?

Actualy, I do.
All the creepypasta, the rumers and the speculation(dead body, gary's raticate, who is cubone mother and the music) make Lavender town my favorite place in pokemon, its just much more interesting than others in my opinion.

If it's one of your favorite places... do you really want something new to come along and outshine it? Lavender town is the original creepy pokemon town... Nothing should ever replace it..
But I wouldn't mind creepy music in some other town. The Celestial tower was kinda good.
(You might like Top Percentage then...)

xseed August 29th, 2013 8:24 PM

I love the x and y music. so awsome. but I am looking most forward to the potential frenchy music the towns are gonna have. also I am llooking forward the champion theme

Flushed August 29th, 2013 8:24 PM

As long as the E4 music is good, nothing else matters. Jk, but seriously, gen 5's E4 music was pretty bad in my opinion. A promising start from what I can tell here, but we'll see.

Unless the E4 theme shares the Gym Leader theme like previous generations, tbh I prefer the Gym Leaders and E4 to have completely different themes though.

Darkroman August 31st, 2013 9:13 AM

Seeing how music is a good-sized factor in how I enjoy a video game, I can't wait to hear these. Sucks being at work right now with most media sites blocked :(.

If the new town will be good I wouldn't mind if is outshine Lavender, its not like stories counter each other.
And sorry if I don't understand the obvious, but what do you mean by "Top Percentage"?

Neosprin August 31st, 2013 11:13 AM

DAT SKIDDO THEME IS AMAZING! I love it, lol. I'll ride my Skiddo all day.

Top Percentage is a creepypasta story about Joey, the Ratatta kid who always talks about how it's in the Top Percentage. It's about as disturbing as most lavender town stories.

Back to the Music, I'm kind of interested in not just battle music but ambient music. Like, what about the routes and has anybody discussed the new modes of travel? So far we've only had music for Walking, Cycling, and Surfing. What about that part where you can now ride a pokemon at times? What kind of music might that have? I'm hoping for something adventurous and cheerful.

TCB September 1st, 2013 8:19 PM

Hearing only a small selection of the demo's music from Gamescom, the quality is really being stepped up from the midi sounds from the previous Gens. The Trainer battle theme in particular sounds amazing and gets you into that battling mood.

The Rival Battle theme and the Rival Encounter theme, both are good. However if they were to be swapped around it'll feel more appropriate.

I hope Game Freak take advantage here, with the much more superior sound output of the 3DS we may very well have the most robust main series soundtrack yet.

pokemonmasteraaron September 23rd, 2013 7:56 AM

I love the trainer battle theme.
I love a good trainer battle theme, because that and the wild battle theme are the songs you will here the most!
And what of this route recreation?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tZ75eu5ir8
Amazing!
The absolute only thing I worry about is the gym trainer / gym leader song going around.
It obviously plays in the game somewhere, but does it play on the gym leaders?
I will say, game freak are professionals and probably know better than to put such a theme as the Gym Leader battle theme. Now I'll be honest, I actually do love the theme, it's awesome, but it just doesn't fit a gym leader.
Course, in my opinion, Alder's battle theme didn't really fit, but that's different.
When I found out he wasn't the final boss, it turned out to be awesome for the part.
Besides, that song grew on me. Anyway, wouldn't it be interesting if the gym leaders all had their own battle themes?
Normally, I'd think "no way" but with the whole thing about selecting the track for wi-fi battles, it makes me wonder.
The gym leader theme would be perfect for a first gym leader or something.
Whatever it is, I'll grow to love it, I'm sure!
Nineteen more days before I finally have the answers to so many questions!

WishCookie October 13th, 2013 4:51 AM

Thoughts on the Gym Leader theme.

Well as you guys know, it's been a day since the game was released and some has already beaten the first gym leader. Now what is your thoughts on the unexpected gym leader theme?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bGSgVXA0HE

rainerman3 October 13th, 2013 10:52 AM

I like it a lot, it's kinda quiet, but I really like that it's all serious at the beginning as such. (Even though the gym leaders themselves are really easy)

Rengoku October 13th, 2013 11:10 AM

I honestly find it less rowdy; the previous generation insisted that you beat most of their trainers in the Gym before you get to the leader, but this generation doesn't have much.

I really like the Psychic gym's layout, though.

metalhand October 13th, 2013 11:18 PM

The soundtracks!

In pokemon X and pokemon Y gamefreak step-up lot of thing, including the soundtrack.
I really enjoy the new soundtracks(especially the gym leaders soundtrack!), and I wanted to know-
What o you think about the game's soundtrack? you like it? think it got better? which one is your favorite?

MaoMint October 13th, 2013 11:21 PM

I love this new soundtrack!
Normaly I am not very fond of game soundtracks and especially in Pokémon I often end up turning off the sound.
However I really love this one - I refuse to turn it off, even at night. >: D
I'm not entirely sure about a favourite yet but I like the one from the first cave (unsure about the name 3: ) - it has a cheeky beat to it. :')

Exitosus October 13th, 2013 11:22 PM

Sound tracks are pretty good, i sometimes play with sound depending what i feel...With poke-amie i have to play with sound so i can play head-up so far high score of 985

voltianqueen October 14th, 2013 12:21 AM

The soundtrack hasn't really jumped out at me... I do like the regular trainer battle music and the town where the Fairy gym is, though. But my favorite track so far is the power plant music! I like that one a lot!

xSkye October 14th, 2013 12:25 AM

I noticed soundtracks had changed right away, well I kinda expected it but not in this way. It's a totally new/different kind of game music.

I especially like the gym leader soundtracks :D sound kinda intense as if you're in some important battle that makes a difference.

voltianqueen October 14th, 2013 1:33 AM

Whoa, I just went to Route 15 and I really like that one, too o_o

A lot of the music kinda reminds me of RPG Maker music.

skyluigi2 October 14th, 2013 1:35 AM

The X and Y soundtrack is very nice. I love it!

Wobbu October 14th, 2013 8:51 PM

I've really enjoyed all of the music so far. I like the mix of classical instruments and synthetic instruments. The Boutique theme sounds really cool. I just made it to Route 10 so I still have a lot to look foward to. A little disappointed that Aquacorde Town and Ambrette Town share the same theme, I was hoping that it'd be like Unova where every settlement has its own theme. At least it's a good theme. My favorite Route Theme so far is the Route 8 theme. I'm not a big fan of the Gym Leader theme, however.

Greenbeans October 15th, 2013 2:58 PM

I think the soundtrack is very well rounded and has lots of really cool music!

Silhouette October 15th, 2013 3:18 PM

Oh god, Cyllage City theme. I am literally standing here in the town just listening, I can't get enough!!

Most battle themes are okay, but I wasn't necessarily impressed with them. I like the regular trainer battle and the gym leader battle is cool, too.

WishCookie October 22nd, 2013 5:12 AM

Pokemon X & Y - Favorite Soundtrack?

So, your favorite soudntrack? X and Y has been out for a while now and most of you have completed the game but if you haven't I'm sure you have a favorite soundtrack atm right? :p

Now, which soundtrack do you like the most?

Sabrewulf238 October 22nd, 2013 5:17 AM

I love the music that plays in the power plant and the pokeball factory. It's my favourite.

After that I like the music on route 15, does it remind anyone else of elder scrolls? Also the Xerneas music was another one I liked.

Lastly the music in Laverre city springs to mind, it's very charming.

1st: Power Plant/Pokeball Factory
2nd: Route 15 (Think it plays on another route too)
3rd: Laverre City

Edit: How did I forget Dendemille town? Another awesome track. Reminds me of Wind Waker.

heavenbuster October 22nd, 2013 5:57 AM

I have not heard all the music yet, I just now made it to the last town, however my current favorite is Laverre City, Yveltal battle music, and then the Emotion song. thought the emotions song you can only hear when you go into a certain house and talk to the guy who plays it. I also like the music from AZ when he is telling you the story in the HQ.

So far I am at -
1. Emotions
2. Yveltal Music
3. Laverre City
4. AZ History Song

WishCookie October 22nd, 2013 7:38 AM

I really like the Power Plant soundtrack myself. It reminds me of generation 4 or Gale Of Darkness.

Flushed October 22nd, 2013 8:05 AM

I like the Team Flare battle music, and I thought you were able to choose it at the Battle Maison, but I guess I was wrong.

TreeKangaroo October 22nd, 2013 2:12 PM

Lysandre's battle music. Soooo much better than Ghetsis and N's. Ghetsis was just drums. N's was overrated and not intense. Lysandre's was intense and made me think, "Oh **** this guy means business!" and did I forget to mention, HIS PLAN INVOLVED GENOCIDE.

Victory Road- It feels like you are in your last obstacle before the strongest trainers in the league. Which you are. All the overworld music is great though.

TLOEric October 22nd, 2013 3:51 PM

I like the music overall, but some of the music is odd... like, I'm not sure how to describe it, but it's not catchy.

ProjectMisfit October 23rd, 2013 12:56 AM

Mewtwo's battle-theme.

That theme was bananas. Oh myyyyyyyyy goooooooooood.

ttlvx October 23rd, 2013 3:41 AM

Route 16 theme xD I keep running around this route or listen that song from youtube :P

fenyx4 October 24th, 2013 9:57 AM

The snippets of the XY arrangement of the "Pokemon Main Theme" (mostly utilized in the promotional trailers for the Pokemon XY games, IIRC; some of it (or all of it?) can be heard below) for Pokemon XY sound really nice from what I've heard, although I'm wondering how future generations will remix it because these "orchestrated" variants are beginning to sound the same. XD However, for all the versions I've heard so far (RBY, RSE, FR/LG, HG/SS, and snippets of the ones from DPPt, BW, and XY) have managed to each have a unique feel to them. {:3}

There was also an overworld theme (I think; not sure of its true identity, but it seems to be in-game) that played in a seemingly Day-Care-ish area or something, but it also sounded nice... It's the one that plays at the beginning of this video:

In the "Three New Mega-Evolved Pokemon Revealed!" official English trailer, I love the ominous theme that plays before 0:22; it sounds very suitable for a legendary encounter! I'm hoping that it's present in the game... As for the theme after 0:22...I'm going to reserve judgment until I hear the whole theme in-game; the guitars just seem very non-Pokemon-ish... That guitar-laden theme (which I'm guessing is in the game, too) is decent for now; it sounds a little reminiscent of "Go Go Power Rangers" near the end, so that's something...

Also, I didn't get a response in the "XY Quick Questions and Answers" thread (possibly because the users there really don't know the answer....? Or maybe some are too engrossed in running around Kalos or something :/), so hopefully I can repost this (if there's any theme that I would really like to know the identity of, it's the "Mega Charizard X trailer" theme!):

I've heard it in this video that has it playing during a multiplayer battle, so I know the music is from in-game within XY...

Thanks in advance!

*In the midst of my (unfortunate and brief) song-hunting/song-spoiling soiree (T_T), I heard the first few seconds of (if I'm recalling correctly) the Kalos Trainer battle theme, the Kalos wild Pokemon battle theme, and the Kalos "Mega Evolution battle" battle theme... Most of them sounded quite awesome and had potential; the only one that jarred me at first is the Kalos "Mega Evolution battle" battle theme... I think it uses guitars.... (which seem to be a trend just as prominent as the terrific trumpets of Hoenn) Again, I'm holding judgment on most of these (especially the last one) until I hear them in game.

I happen to really like the music in Snowbelle City and Anistar City. I kinda like the Gym leader music too - it grew on me a little bit.

My favourite Evil team music still stands with Plasma though <3

I agree. It doesn't try too hard to be edgey or different, and ends up completely effective. A fitting music for a maniac, and tense enough to keep you hooked. Not to mention how well it goes with Mega Gyarados.

But my vote goes to Power Plant, Champion Theme and Coumarine City. I gotta give it to the Gym Leader theme for trying to go all F-Zero GX on itself, but it fell short in that regard unfortunately. Not as tense or heart bumping as any F-Zero GX song.

I love the remix they did in the fight with Mewtwo. Was nice, much nostalgia was had.

Best Soundtrack in Pokemon yet?

Did a quick scout of all the threads (albeit crappily) and saw nothing about the soundtrack of X or Y. If there is, cleanse this thread with fire. And moderators.

That being said, it has a LOT of great music. I didn't find a single track I couldn't hum to, and some others are really memorable. I loved the Gym Leader music, E4 music, the Anistar City music, among others. I haven't played all the Pokemon games, haven't touched Generation II yet, but it's really good. Thoughts?

Charcoal92 October 29th, 2013 3:25 AM

Salatune City. Man that is what I needed a song to get hype for the first Gym. It is near the level of Goldenrod City (HG/SS) on my top 10 upbeat Poketunes.

metalhand October 29th, 2013 3:58 AM

I really like the gym leader music, and the music in the battle against Diantha also was great.

Peter Quill October 29th, 2013 5:01 AM

One of the themes that stuck to me this time is the Team Flare Battle Music.
It's so catchy and engaging.

The song around the credits is really good and heartwarming. It even has lyrics. That has to be one of my favorite songs in Pokemon ever :x

Shalour City...

The music that plays in Shalour City sounds Japanese, but, it also sounds Celtic? Is it one or the other? I think Shalour City is based off of Brittany in France, I'm not sure what culture Shalour's music is...

Hahaha! I guess our French members can help you with that! ;)
I don't think it sounds Japanese tho, it sounds mythical and felt legend-like.

Water Gym Leader October 30th, 2013 7:41 AM

Shalour City's music sounds like very traditional French Music. But then again I could be wrong. I don't spend a lot of time in France.

Timbjerr October 30th, 2013 8:51 AM

Shalour City...

I can hear some Kabuki theater influence, but it's probably meant to be Celtic-styled given its real-world analog in France.

the new bike music reminds me of the ending to tome

Does anybody love the Snowbelle City music?
It's so soft and has a myterious, cold feeling to it. I think it really suits the city's appearance.

What do you mean unexpected?

he probably means that he didn't expect it to sound like that, based on how the previous leader themes sounded, and was expecting a similarity, which this theme most certainly does not have. xD

i personally like it, it's my favorite leader theme so far. when i heard it the first time, i was like "this doesn't sound like something I'd hear in a gym." it took me by surprise due to what i expected of Pokemon music, but it grew on me. it, along with the elite 4 and champion theme, are among my favorite tracks in the game. i like the direction the composers took here with the music of the game.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire November 6th, 2013 12:37 PM

I like it, it's very upbeat, and almost E4 like music.

Quinn November 6th, 2013 5:41 PM

oddly it reminds me of final fantasy advent children.

Thief November 6th, 2013 6:27 PM

I love the Gym Leader, Champion and Legendary music.

Anistar and Snowbelle remind me of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon so I adore those soundtracks. <3

braixen November 6th, 2013 6:43 PM

my favorite track would have to be sycamore's theme; i just really enjoy music that sounds like that i guess

i would have have to say that the elite four battle music was my second favorite.

Deivii November 6th, 2013 6:55 PM

My favorite one is definitely: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CF7rJNwIcGQ

Also, Snowbelle City reminds me of Kingdom Hearts, lol.

This song is a song unique to Pokémon. Never has a soundtrack in Pokémon hit me like this, never has a soundtrack in Pokémon intrigued me like this.
It's simply amazing.

thepsynergist November 6th, 2013 11:27 PM

I like several tracks in this game, however, I don't like most of them. The elite 4 theme really hits me, but a lot of the other battle themes seem strange... The rival themes okay, but I can say I miss Go Ichinose's battle theme style. Apparently, Go Ichinose didn't make the music for this game, which explains a lot. A lot of the route themes are nice, albiet heavily french inspired.

Really? It reminds of Got to Get to it, not saying it's a rip off, it just gives a similar sad feeling... :'(

I felt that this generation's music was lacklustre compared to the other ones. It certainly wasn't bad, I still liked it, but it can no way compete with the other gens. I loved the bike theme (only second to BW) and the gym leader theme, but the surf theme was god-awful. A lot of the city themes were forgettable as well.

By the way, there's this part in Snowbelle City's track that sounds very much like a part in N's Farewell. Somewhere towards the end of the loop.

Colress Machine November 7th, 2013 5:38 AM

I really like the Flare Boss' battle theme. They're just so much fun!!!! But the track that blew me away is the legendary theme. omf I lost my mind when I heard that theme. DEFINITELY my favorite legend theme ever.

She_Delphox November 7th, 2013 5:47 AM

I really seem to like the Victory Road music in this game! When I first entered Victory Road I was like; whoah nice music! Gets you even more pumped for the battles ahead of you somehow xD

Also happen to like the music when you Surf (in most gens), it's always so soothing~^_^

XanMan November 7th, 2013 5:50 AM

The music in the 6th gen surprised me, it's so different then the others. I read an article saying the creators spent much time in France so they could capture the esscense of it and put it into the game. I don't know if they did or not, never been to France, but they succeeded in making the game have a totally new feel..The music as a whole reminded me of Megaman, Zelda, and Phantasy Online ep. 1. I love it! My favorite tracks are when you, go into those little tunnels to get into a new route? Y'know, the ones that have theose women behind the counter in each one? And the remix of the old battle music from the 1st gen.

Eruption November 7th, 2013 9:06 AM

I don't pay too much attention to the OST, I just hum them when I'm in whichever route/battle/whatever that they play. In that respect, Gen 6 has been just as 'hummable' as all other gen music.

The one specific track I'd like to point out though is the 'Gate theme' that plays between routes. It's the most relaxing track I think I've heard in a game, I could listen to it for hours.

WAIT A SECOND. Lysandre's theme was awesome okay? Lumiose city theme is memorable because of the girl.

~Tentacruel~ November 9th, 2013 9:48 PM

I gotta say, like most people here, most of this gens music is rather forgettable. I really don't have the songs staying in my head as it was with gen 1 to 3 music. Gotta say, I don't remember any songs from gen 4 and 5 either.

I do have to say I really like Prof. Sycamores theme and I absolutely love the Kalos Power Plant/Pokéball Factory theme song. The only gen 6 songs I want to listen to even when I'm not playing.

PokeBound98 November 11th, 2013 7:24 PM

I don't know about you guys, but I really like most of the music this generation. Some of my favorites include Shalour City's theme, Professor Sycamore's theme, Snowbelle City's theme, the Gym Leader battle music, Team Flare's battle theme, and Lysandre's battle theme.
I also really like the Elite Four battle theme, though I think it sounds kinda similar to the one in Black and White. Anyone else agree on this?

Zymbolik November 11th, 2013 9:27 PM

lol pokemon i love pokemon music its awsome classic and arcadie i think thats a word but yeah i love it!!!

i want to be the very best like no 1 was
