Pokemon X&Y Limited Edition - Red or Blue?
Have your pre-ordered the 3DS XL Pokemon X&Y limited edition?
What color did you choose? Which game you pre-ordered? Why did you choose them? Yes. Blue. Y(RED). The blue 3DS goes better with the Pokemon X&Y's skin in my opinion. I chose Pokemon Y because I want a flying legendary and cause it starts with the first letter of my name - not much of a reason, but that's it. |
I'll be getting the blue one (:
|
If I am completley honest I'm not a big fan of limited edition Consoles. They look nice, but I much prefer my plain white 3DS XL over one with a design and a colour.
And I preordered Pokemon Y. |
I'm personally waiting for the Zelda Edition. The X / Y ones look to plain.
|
BLUE!
I was so excited when they finally announced these I literally jumped with joy. |
WHELP. I'm still waiting for the White 3DS XL to be released in North America.
I've never really been a big fan of special edition systems therefore I'm not really interested in buying either of these. If the White 3DS XL doesn't come out before October arrives ─ which I've run out of hope that it will ─ then I'm just going to buy the solid black one instead, since I still haven't bought a 3DS for myself yet. |
I really want to get either of them so badly now, but I'm unsure if it's possible to trade in my 3DS XL for one of those ;~; they look so cool and it would really go along with my DSi XL of having a special edition
|
Limited edition consoles are cool, but I'd never find myself using them regularly. Plus I'm also not a big fan of XL's. I preordered X, just to go with my own tradition of always getting the first name listed in a pair (red, gold, ruby, diamond, heartgold, ect.), and also because my cousin, also my real-life rival, preordered Y.
|
I won't be getting any since my blue 3DS XL is working perfectly but they're both beautiful. If I could, I'd get the blue one. Still waitin' for a cute pink, gold, or white one though. :)
|
I think they're both ugly, and Nintendo why are the bundle packs only for the XL? I don't have a 3DS but I'll be getting the original-sized one as I think the XL is too big. But it never seems to get the bundles. (-_-) I mean does everyone prefer the XL and so Nintendo only releases the bundles for it? Ugh, it's so frustrating. *End rant*
I prefer the normal colors anyways |
Quote:
by the way, i found out today that toysRus have the pikachu limited edition xl, which looks great! one last thing, the y&x 3ds xl are not bundles, you buy the game separately =\ |
I preordered the red 3ds xl and got pokemon y version
|
I didn't like the blue 3DS when I first saw it, but with the release of the red one, I couldn't help myself and pre-ordered it. I was planning on getting the plain black 3DS XL, but red was my favorite color for many years, and with it being a limited edition console and Pokemon-themed, I could probably get more money for it should I decide to sell it in the future. I really wanted a Pokemon-themed 3DS anyway since Pokemon is the reason I'm getting one at all, but I think the design is plain, uncreative, and beyond lazy. I like it better than the Pikachu one though (yellow is my least favorite color, and I hate the way Pikachu looks in all the merchandise artwork).
I pre-ordered Pokemon X because I love Xerneas' design and find Yveltal's design awkward. I don't care one way or the other about the other exclusive Pokemon, although I do like Spritzee. Pokemon X is the first game I've ever pre-ordered. o-o |
I bought a regular 3DS a few months ago despite the XL being out for a long. I'd rather have a compact gaming system to carry in my pocket, or else I would have tried to get the Pikachu XL (which was around when I got mine.) I don't like legendaries very much, so even if they were available for regular-sized 3DSs, I still wouldn't want them.
I'm not going to preorder X/Y. I think I might buy my copy later than most people, because I'll be too busy in school to play much anyways. |
Probably an unpopular opinion that I'm going to spit out, but I don't like the look of both of those consoles. They both look a bit cheap, though pictures may not do it justice. Inside of both consoles will probably still be black.
I'd rather have had the Charizard 3ds XL come over or even the gold one. |
I already have a red 3DS XL so I have no intentions on getting one of the limited edition ones. Though if I didn't have a 3DS XL and I did have the money for one of the two I would likely be well... the Red one.
|
I already have a 3DS, and might be planning for asking for a 3DS XL Pokémon X and Y for Christmas so that the d-pad on my old one doesn't give me thumb herpes.
|
Today got my 3ds XL, so I won't buy these one
|
In my opinion my special pikachu 3ds xl is better, plus I heard they ran out quick so I value mine more now

I don't mind them, but they aren't very impressive at all - I personally won't be trading in my 3DS XL for the them. I have the Limited Edition Pikachu 3DS XL and I think it looks infinitely better than the X & Y ones. So I'll be sticking with my Pikachu one. :) http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Limited-Edition-Nintendo-3Ds-XL-Pikachu-Console-/00/s/NTQzWDcwOA==/z/PXsAAOxydl5SJizw/$(KGrHqF,!lEFIlLZU0LWBSJizwFWjQ~~60_12.JPG |
I'm a big fan of the Pokémon X 3DS, because it looks very beautiful to me. Especially with the Xerneas and Yveltal outline. I don't think I'd be buying it, though, because unfortunately, I already have a 3DS. D: I bought it last year in June, and it still seems to work perfectly fine.

But for the 18250120th time, I really want that Charizard XL. Only if it wasn't for god damned region lock I would've imported it. http://nintendo3dsblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Charizard-3DS-XL-369x400.jpg |
It's soooo tempting to get one of them, especially with the release date being just a couple of weeks before the games release date. I've looked it up and albeit they're £179.99, even trading in my current 3DS which is in a good condition would only fetch me approximately £60. If you knock that off the price of the 3DS XL it would still cost more than £100, so I wouldn't bother considering my 3DS is perfectly fine as it is.
|
I pre ordered the Y 3DS XL actually just today. Also pre ordered both Pokemon X & Y. Can't wait to get my hands on that 3DS! XD.

I preordered Y but I don't see the point of trading in my red 3DS XL which is working perfectly. I'm not really a fan of limited edition collectibles.
That being said, I might be willing to decorate my 3DS XL with stickers and other stuff. |

I like limited edition consoles when they're done right, though. I snagged a refurbished Zelda 3DS for cheap recently and I love it. Simple, elegant design. http://hothardware.com/newsimages/Item19508/Zelda_3DS_Front.png |
I haven't pre-ordered them yet, I'll just buy both versions later. I'm planning to buy the blue 3DS XL though.
|
I've ordered the blue XL system. I already own a red 3DS, but will need a trade console anyways (since I'll be buying both games, and will trade with myself - I'm unsocial that way! ;)).
My main game will be X, because I like the legendary much better! |

I preordered mine, the blue one from BestBuy on Sept 17. and today got a email saying the Order is ready for in-store pickup Tomorrow on the 26th! 1 day earlier than official release date! I'm excited!
|
Congratulations! Can't wait to have mine delivered already!
|
Yes, just called my local Best Buy store pickup location, verified that they received the consoles today, however are not allowed to release them until Tomorrow Sept. 26th. 1 day before everywhere else you can pre-order from apparently.
If you still haven't ordered your Pokemon 3DS XL X&Y Limited Edition, I highly recommend Best Buy, because they have the cheapest price around since they offer Free Shipping or Local Pick-Up. Gamestop, Toys R Us, WalMart, Target, Fry's etc. all were either slightly more or wanted to charge for shipping and/or offered no In-Store Pick-Up. This was my order for the Limited Edition Blue (SPRSBMAB) Product Total: $199.99 Shipping: $0.00 CA Sales Tax: $18.00 Order Total: $217.99 I am sure if you place your pre-order today and set for Local Pickup you too will get to pick it up tomorrow, 1 day before release. But Act Quick! look's like BestBuy is sold out of the Red version for online ordering, however a few stores shows it's still in stock for local purchase, while the Blue version is still available for online order and sold out in a few local stores. |
Yeah, I don't think so, koff~
I wasn't going to get a 3DS until they announced a game that I'd actually want tot get. And with New Super Smash Bros coming out I just had to pick one up. I'll be getting a Blue 2DS. Mainly because the 'clamshell' that everyone is so hooked on was getting a tad stale for me. I almost broke my DSi the other day because of the design (long story short, it didn't break) and I don't think either the 3DS or the 3DS appeal enough for me to spend that whopping $199.99 plus tax! The 2DS is within my budget, seems less 'clunky' somehow and doesn't have the clicky buttons. I read a review on the system [2DS] about how the other ds systems have notoriously clicky buttons. I thought it was a lie and now I can't un-hear the clicks! I don't think I'd be able to enjoy the 3D factor anyways. And before you go off on portability and function, I have owned the PSP and the PS Vita, both of which do not fold and fit comfortably in my pockets with their cases on. Besides, if I was to drop my system in the muck, I'd be just devastated, koffi~ |
Just got back from Best Buy with my Console \o/!

Nintendo 3DS XL Limited Edition X/Y Blue Unboxing (Photos)
Just picked up my Pokemon Nintendo 3DS XL Blue Limited Edition X/Y console from Best Buy a day before release.
This is my very first Nintendo DS, I've never been into portable gaming before in the past, nor really played much of the Pokemon games, however this year I watched some playthroughs by Munching Orange and others over on Youtube of Pokemon Ash Gray, Sacred Gold, Creepy Black and such and those videos made me decide to download the roms and mods for those games and since then I been hooked! So when I saw there was a 3D pokemon game coming out and a console to go with it, I knew I had to get them both! so a couple weeks ago, I finally placed my pre-order for both the X Console and X game. I originally wanted to go with the Red Console, however I opted for blue because Xerneas is a better looking Pokemon than Yveltal in my own opinion, So I decided to go the X/Blue route all the way! I can't wait until the X&Y games release! For now I'll be visiting my nearby GameStop and see if I can pick up some games to hold me over until then! Anyways, as the title of this post suggests, I took the liberty to take some photos of the console :)! All I can say is wow, it's a gorgeous unit, photos do not do it justice! Spoiler:
|
It really is so pretty ^_^
I'd defo get blue if I didn't have one already :) |
Oh wow, Sorrow, your photos almost make me want to change my mind and get the Blue Edition asap. It really is a gorgeous system. If anyone else would like to share their pictures of their Special Edition X and Y 3DS XL, please feel free to share them here!

Not sure if any of you all got it but I did (: picked it up right when the store opened at GameStop! It's very stunning!!! I love it <3. Did any of you all get yours today?
|
I wish i was working to have the $$$ to drop on one of those sick suckers!
|
I saw the X one on a video recently. I must say that it's glossy finish is a good touch. My previous DSi XL had the same gloss effect, and I loved it. But you get fingerprint marks on it. :(
I might just get one. Even though I already have a red 3DS, why not get this one? It looks awesome and it always will be! Good work Nintendo! |

They have them at Gamestop for $200 i thought they were going to be at least 400, maybe ill pick one up this weekend.
|
Which one do you imagine to be rarer? The X & Y 3DS XLs or the Limited Edition Pikachu ones? |
Seeing these pictures make me one to get one...but I already have a 3DS...even though it's joystick is acting up and the paint is peeling off it still work...if only I had the money I proably would buy an X 3DS XL...

May I ask what you're doing to it? Any special cleaning habits or storage issues? Do you leave it near water (on the counter when you take a shower) or some other form of degradation? Or is it just old? What type is it? Standard 3DS or 3DSXL? I don't mean to be rude, I'm just wondering, koffi~ |

As for value, New In box will always remain valuable, but so far it looks like the Charizard limited edition is the rarest and most desired, current and past sold ebay listings are the most for that version, $400-600, other limited editions such as the pikachu, eevee, etc all are about $400-500 for sealed in box, while 200-400 open out of box depending on condition and luck. So all I can say about the limited edition pokemon XLs is, as long as 3ds xl is the current platform by Nintendo (isnt replaced by a newer/better handheld console), opened units will always retain some value over their regular counterparts, anywhere up to $50-100, but new sealed in box is when you can hit 100-300+ in extra value. However much like the Older DS and DSi units, etc, when the 3DSXL units came out and were the successor, those limited edition units took a $100+ drop as their "mass" desirability took a nose dive, only desired by "collectors". Better than a Bank Savings account, if you want to save money, have money to keep in assets, want to up to double your investment, buy out these limited edition units, keep them stored away safely to retain mint sealed condition, and in as soon as 4-6 months time, you can cash out and sell for up to double. Too bad I don't have hundreds laying around to sit on in invested assets or else I would do this :) Also to be honest, I'm not quite sure how rare these X&Y limited edition units are, not sure if Nintendo stated anywhere how many will be made, but this time around, it seems like every major retailer has it, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Gamestop, Toys R Us, and not to mention countless smaller shops in N. Americ, so I'd imagine there had to be upwards to thousand+ units made for the pre-release alone, and even now that it's released.. Stores which were "Out of Stock" during pre-order, such as Gamestop, Best Buy, Fry's Electronics, are now Back in Stock and available for normal purchase. Even Gamestop has dropped the word "Limited" from their product page's title and description. So would appear that maybe they know these aren't "Limited Edition" with no official word to say when Nintendo may stop making the units or limited to certain number.. Even their product page for the Pikachu 3DS XL still says Limited Edition (albeit soldout). http://www.gamestop.com/browse?nav=16k-3-pokemon+3ds+xl,28zu0 So they may just be Limited Edition solely based on the fact they are a special 3DS XL unit, but in no way are they rare, as there's no official limit to how many were made and with being available around the world including Europe, rather than a Japan and/or N. American exclusive, probably pushes their numbers up to the hundred thousand range. |
I imagine the XY 3ds's will be somewhat like the Dialga/Palkia and Black and White (Zekrom and Reshiram) consoles. They won't be as rare I think.
I kind of want the Giratina DS Lite and especially the Charizard 3ds XL but I digress. |
Just picked up my blue Pokemon X&Y Limited Edition 3DS XL system. I have to say, it looks really sharp! And it's the first limited edition system I've ever purchased. Of course I purchased some screen protectors with it.
|
I could go cheap way and get a decal on it because I bought the 3ds xl before they were announced to be released in NA. A decal can be like 10$.
|
I normally don't care about XL models at all, to the point where I don't even bother with them in my collection, and I never buy special editions of consoles, but these are so beautiful that I'm actually going to dig into my savings and purchase one tomorrow. I hope to get the red one, but I'll gladly take blue. As long as I get one of them, I'll be happy. They just look SO nice. Must have!
|
3DS XL X and Y edition case
I am wondering how many of you that have it , will be getting or have a case for it. I know covering the design is useless since that's the point, but I also dont want it to scratch I want to keep it mint.
Anyone using a case besides the clear plastic one? (The clear plastic case scratched my blue regular XL) |
I actually bought the blue 3DS XL pokemon version two days ago since I work for gamestop :) I got it since I traded in my old 3ds (regular) a couple of months ago. And picked up my version of "y" and the pokemon x and y case and chespin stuffed animal. Will have pics tomorrow after work :)
|
Yeah I work at GameStop myself, and I will be buying it today there's 2 left and its not my store haha. I m going to use my brothers Mario case as he bought the x and y case. But I want to know if there's any skin kind of like the Nerf but smaller and maybe clear . I bought a clear plastic one from eBay but it scratched my last xl :(.
|
As an employee, do you guys get discounts on any purchases? Also, I just bought my red 3DS XL a few months ago, so I didn't bother with the special edition ones.
|
I take good care of my things so they're hardly scratched. I bought the Blue one :)
|
Yeah we do, but on games and accessories no discount on systems.
|
I wasn't originally going to buy either of them, but the blue one was just so appealing that I was lucky enough to buy one at the GameStop it my mall on release day. I gotta say, I'm loving it! It really is a gorgeous design. I don't have a case or anything like that for it, so I try to keep it as safe and clean as possible.

I preordered the blue one since one of my friend was getting the red one but it was
worth it I guess & the blue one is really pretty but I like the gold ones more. Not using a case or anything but i am using a screen protector. |
I pre ordered the red one and totally love it. I got it release day morning, never had a 3DS before this and only actually bought it to play pokemon. 3DS unappealing to me really. I did end up buying the blue one aswell actually, Might aswell complete the collection.
