What was your first Pokèmon game??

Personally, my first one was Fire Red. I picked it cause Red is my fav color :3 I loved it so as time went on I got Pokèmon Colosseum for the GC, Pokèmon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, but that's when I stopped buying them :( I moved on to the Xbox 360. But every once in a while I come back to enjoy the series X3 I think I'm legit emotionally attached to my Fire Red cartridge haha. I lost it :'( What was YOUR first Pokèmon game and why did you pick it?

Calamitastrophe September 9th, 2013 12:33 AM

Pokemon Yellow version. When I was a kid, my friends had a Pokemon game, so I begged my parents for one. Christmas comes around, and my brother and I got some GBA+Pokemon game bundle. The package came with Yellow, of course.

That was the beginning of my addiction to Pokemon haha. I've yet to miss any of the main series Pokemon games released in NA.

Orifiel September 9th, 2013 12:40 AM

Glad you asked.
That would be Pokemon Emerald. I was about 8 years old.
So, I've never really played Red & Blue version. Because
I think it was too old and the graphics aren't the thing I like.

Hiatus September 9th, 2013 1:29 AM

For me, it was Pokémon Blue. It was given to me by my dad as a gift during Christmas. I became obsessed with this game as soon as I turned it on. It was very hard to get me off of it. I used to play it all the time, even at night under my bed sheets. Haha.

Unfortunately, I don't have this game with me anymore. I've lost it three years ago while I was in my basement, along with a few of my other GB games.

Guardian September 9th, 2013 2:11 AM

According to my "Load" files on my pc, I am pretty sure I played my first game when I was 10. I remember I LOVED Pokemon but had NO idea there is such a thing as Pokemon Game. And then a friend of mine told me he had it and that he would give it to me (on pc, emulator and stuff). I remember being super excited about it. Anyway,

My first game was Sapphire.
And I think my first Pokemon was Torchic, I was so disappointed when I saw it's evolution lol. Now I have a save file with a level 100 Swampert. (I HAD NO IDEA I BROUGHT A POKEMON TO LEVEL 100, EVER! :D )

Now I am playing Pokemon Yellow lol.

Gfx September 9th, 2013 3:06 AM

My first game was Pokemon Yellow. I remember my neighbor getting it and I didn't like him, so I stole it from him. Then my mom bought me Pokemon Red and I felt bad so I gave it back.

Haha wow! I used to play Fire Red under the sheets too! Good times. These games are some of the best ever made.

Darkroman September 9th, 2013 8:23 AM

Pokemon Blue was my first. My brother's friend let me borrow it for a while, AND his gameboy. My thinking was that it was exciting to see that there was a Pokemon game based on the anime that I loved to watch... Well, I know better nowadays XD.

He let me borrow it for a while, I managed to play through 2 times. The 2nd time was much easier as I knew what I was doing by then, and I battled every trainer that time as well. I was obsessed, lol. When my brother's friend took it back, my brother told me about some gameboy emulator... and that's how I got into the emulation scene as a whole. Nowadays I play on a real cartridge on a real handheld.

Boilurn September 9th, 2013 9:17 AM

Pokemon Yellow was my first game, and indeed, I was stuck on the first gym and didn't have a clue how to beat Brock's Geodude. Because of that I gave up and decided to sell it.

BackDraft-97 September 9th, 2013 9:32 AM

My first actually owned game was diamond. A friend of my parents had bought it and didn't really want it, so he gave it to me. I got hooked immidiatly as, hey, OWN pokemon game! I have played all previous game before though, but that was at my friend's houses. So i actually played all gens, but didn't own them... With result being 'Oh hey Steve! I finally got a crobat! please don't release it...' Next time i played. 'Steve? Steve? Where's my crobat gone?'

TwilightBlade September 9th, 2013 7:11 PM

Pokemon Blue. I got it for Christmas, along with a raspberry red Gameboy Color. I started my game with OT: Blue 53806. My starter was Beachball the Blastoise. I still have him, though I've done new games on my Blue; I just traded him around between my other games back to Blue version.

I was stuck for the longest time trying to find Surf in the Safari Zone. There was no way I could use less than 500 steps. :P I trained my team to 70 and almost got bored until my neighbor borrowed my game and found Surf for me.

Oh jeez, I remember buying Pokemon Yellow from Target with some allowance money and playing Gold/Silver in the stores before the next generation was released...

Livewire September 9th, 2013 7:28 PM

I actually got both Red and Blue for Christmas the year they came out, as well as a Gameboy Color to play them on. I got Yellow sometime after that, then repeated the process every generation for the most part.

Sirfetch’d September 9th, 2013 8:19 PM

Mine was Blue. I believe I got it as a birthday gift from my mom and looking back, it was probably the greatest gift that I will ever have received. It got me into Pokemon and that is something that I am very happy about.

starseed galaxy auticorn September 9th, 2013 8:30 PM

Pokemon Yellow.

A little memory about this that I forgot most of the details of, but when i first got a gameboy color, I was playing this game. I accidentally set down, forgot about it and left it there. We actually had to go back and get it, but I think it was gone. O_o Like I said, I don't remember. I still have my Pokemon Yellow game though. XD

TrainerNico September 9th, 2013 10:01 PM

Yellow, that one just started it all for me

Satoshi Ookami September 9th, 2013 11:27 PM

Pokemon Silver. Yeah, I started with 2nd generation and went back to 1st one after it =D

Firox September 10th, 2013 1:07 AM

I had Pokemon Sapphire first but didn't get a chance to play it (in late in 2003). The first official game I did get to play was Pokemon FireRed, Around March of 2004, my uncle found an abandoned Nintendo DS in a bank, DS had two games Mario 64 DS and Pokemon FireRed, so I played it first, then I remember I still had Sapphire stored away.

Today, I have no clue what happened to the games. I moved rooms in 2008 and I think I forgot the games in my old room.

The first game I actually bought was Pokemon Black 2 in November 2011 and a Nintendo DS Lite a month later.

Sydian September 10th, 2013 9:12 AM

My first game was Yellow. I thought the goal was to steal back the Eevee that your rival took. lol Yellow wasn't the first game I beat though. While it was technically my first game, I consider Sapphire more as my first game. It was the first time I played a main series Pokemon game and actually understood what was going on...and I beat it!

Hikamaru September 10th, 2013 9:36 AM

Ruby for me, I started playing it all the time once I got it for my 11th birthday and that was how my Pokemon gaming career took off. I've played all of the games for 4th and 5th Gen but Ruby still holds a place there, even if I was a late bloomer at the time.

'I thought the goal was to steal back the Eevee that your rival took...' Lol, your posts often cracks me up.

I was a fan and playing Pokemon games since the very first Generation.
But if we're gonna talk about my first official legit game, then that would be my Japanese Pearl and I lost it few years ago. The End.

Nolafus September 10th, 2013 1:07 PM

Everyone is saying the older games, while my first game was Black. I started in high school, where most people quit! I've gone back and played through some of the older games, and I sure am glad I went behind my parent's back and bought it on a band trip.

It's kind of funny, I bought two games (the other being Scribblenauts) and I ended up letting my friend borrow pokemon for the rest of the trip as I played Scribblenauts. I started once I got back home and my life has never been the same.

Aeroblast September 10th, 2013 3:38 PM

Pokemon Silver. There was no Red/Blue/Yellow in Korea... I guess the next generation one was the only game to start with. Even then there was no Crystal and any of the 3rd generation games.

Back in '99.

Brendino September 13th, 2013 12:03 AM

It's a two part answer for me. The first game that I actually got a chance to play for an extended period of time was Pokemon Yellow, though it belonged to my cousin. The first one I actually owned for myself was Pokemon Gold, which I believe I got for my 10th birthday. Surprised that after all these years my internal battery still works, considering so many others have had their's die out long ago.

Sheep September 13th, 2013 7:55 AM

Pokemon Blue way back in 1998 or 1999. I've been a huge fan ever since! Got Red for that Christmas too.

AoTora September 13th, 2013 8:29 AM

Mine was Emerald :3 And I don't regret it <3 I knew most of the pokemon from 1st gen since those were my childhood - but gen 3 was brand new to me so I didn't know anything about most of the pokemon that were in games :D But I got back into pokemon again - and since that day I've played most of the roms (original and hacks) that were completed and available to download <3

pokemasta92 September 13th, 2013 9:59 AM

My first game was Pokémon Yellow. Since I was a huge fan of the Pokémon TV show, when I got the game it was a dream come true.

SmashBrony September 13th, 2013 10:24 AM

My very first game was Pokemon Red...
& my first pokemon (on the game & the TCG) was Charmander!
(Yes, I'm excited for Mega Charizard!)

genga91 September 13th, 2013 12:31 PM

My first pokemon game was Blue. My cousins and I decided to get the game for Christmas, so me and one of my cousins went for blue while the other two got Red.

BourbonWhiskey September 18th, 2013 7:55 PM

Pokemon Blue and Pokemon Yellow at the same time.

OmegaTL September 19th, 2013 7:19 AM

Well, I played Red, Yellow, Silver and Sapphire, which I played after a friend of mine had finished them, and I gave them back to him after I finished them. The first game I bought myself was actually Platinum, and since then I haven't had a single second hand game. It's always great to be able to restart them whenever you want. The first impression I had, while playing Red, was "omg this is awesome".

DarkEmeraldRarity September 19th, 2013 7:57 AM

Gold,Got it from a cousin as Pokemania died down

Lucreciatwo September 19th, 2013 8:06 AM

My first pokemon game was Blue.
It was so long ago, but I think my first pokemon was
Bulbasaur.

Patrick September 19th, 2013 8:31 AM

If I'm not mistaken, Blue.

Palkia September 19th, 2013 8:54 AM

It was actually a spin-off that I started with; Blue Rescue Team. I still stand by that title being quite a underrated title.

As for main series titles, it was Emerald. While I only played it on my DS phat with the 2nd slot making it impossible to trade pokémon, I still enjoyed the title while waiting for Pokémon Pearl to come out.

I.T. September 19th, 2013 5:15 PM

Pokemon Ruby version. I was only 7 years old when the game came out but I didn't play the game until a year later after it's original release. It's weird though because I would always watch the original anime series and collect PKMN cards but never played the games until Gen 3. That being said, I've never played any Gen 1 or Gen 2 main game, started with Gen 3.

Ruby -> FireRed -> Diamond -> Black -> White 2

oshawottlover13 September 19th, 2013 6:03 PM

Mine was Gold. i was 4 when i got it. it was actaully around ruby and sapphire came out and i think my brother gave it to me. but i dont remember much of it. i probably didnt understand what i doing lol. but it was very special to me. like i traded it for a skarmory card (give me a break i was 4 ok?) and i started having a meltdown and i finally got my game back...and kept the skarmory card hehehehehehe

Mia Mew September 19th, 2013 6:23 PM

When I was a kid, I played the original Pokemon stadium with my big sis! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*: ・゚✧

It was really fun, and actually how I bonded with her. I was about 5, and she was 9, so we were kinda far apart in age, but whenever we played Pokemon, I felt like we actually had a chance to spend time together and laugh and have fun!! It was great.

She's 20 now, and I'm 99% sure she grew out of Pokemon, unfortunately. T_T

FinalInsanity September 19th, 2013 7:36 PM

Pokemon Yellow. As a kid I loved the anime, and well hey, gotta get the version that's closest to it. Then along came GSC, then RSE, etc... It's been a long fulfilling relationship, Pokemon and I.

Decimosoma September 19th, 2013 8:53 PM

That'd be Pokémon Pinball for the gameboy color. Well, it was actually Pokémon Pinball and Pokémon Red together but Pokémon Pinball was my first Pokémon that I touched and played all the way through.

Lunarose September 19th, 2013 9:26 PM

My first pokemon I believe was either Pokemon Stadium 2 or hey you pikachu! I might have gotten them at around the same times and I was so young so I don't remember well Dx
But my first game from the main series was Pokemon Crystal. My old best friend in elementary school had decided to give it to me as a birthday present because he didnt play it much. I remember he only got as far as Goldenrod City. I restarted of course, to have my own experience with the game. Since then i've probably replayed it around 3 times through, each with different starters and teams. I have no idea where it is right now sadly, but ill still never forget that my friend gifted me such a great game :')

Elaitenstile September 20th, 2013 4:50 AM

Have to say Ruby. It was my first, and soon swapped to Sapphire because Kyogre. But I get good memories trying to fix that stupid dry battery and getting my Kadabra to level 100 hoping it will evolve.

Mithel_Celestia September 20th, 2013 6:07 AM

First game was during my elementary days which is a LeafGreen which a friend loaned to me for a moment before asking for it back. That moment was how I got hooked on Pokemon.

Murkrow September 20th, 2013 6:13 PM

it was red (or was it blue) back in 2000...

Shrew September 21st, 2013 5:22 PM

Pokemon Stadium. Even though Pokemon Stadium 2 was already out by then, I got it to save money... in hindsight, should have convinced my parents to get PS2 considering it had everything PS had and more.

Venitardus September 21st, 2013 5:27 PM

Pokémon Red Version was my first ever game.

PokemonCollector-N September 21st, 2013 5:32 PM

Blue was my first. Back when I was a wee pup I absolutely adored Pokémon, but I was a bit behind on the gaming systems so while people were getting their copies of Ruby and Sapphire, it hadn't been long since I'd just acquired Blue. Though, that's partially my fault.

In a time before I got Blue, I saw Red in the store and wanted to try it out. I tried the game in my GameBoy Color and couldn't seem to figure out how to get out of the player's house, so I told my dad "No way, that's not Pokémon!" and we left. It was only when my mother's boyfriend at the time gave me Blue that I realized that the game I could've gotten was Pokémon. After that I got Yellow, and constantly had people asking me "Don't you mean Pokémon gold?" It was pretty annoying honestly. Eh.

Guardian September 22nd, 2013 3:21 AM

Sapphire.
I remember I didn't know there was a new generation, and when I saw starters I was literally blown away. I chose Torchic, and got disappointed when I saw Combusken, I guess I expected a Phoenix or something lol
Either way, I loved it.

Princess Diana September 22nd, 2013 10:58 AM

My first game was Pokemon Silver.

Although, me and my elder brothers had to share a copy of Pokemon Yellow, because they didn't understand the way the game worked.

CoffeeDrink September 22nd, 2013 1:01 PM

I got Pokemon Blue Version as a surprise present along with a Blue Gameboy, koffi~

I somewhat regret getting rid of it. Oh well, sometimes I need to get rid of old stuff. I guess I could have kept it, but I have too much stuff. I have a stack of Playstation 3 videogames that is taller than I am. I have several Nintendo DS games that probably do the same. I don't want to see about my Snes games. I don't have a large list of playstation games or playstation 2 games anymore. . . I had to trade in my advance games in order to get what I wanted, but I don't regret it. It was like releasing a long-term Pokemon friend. They helped me on my journey one last time before we had to say good-bye forever, koff~

Altair September 22nd, 2013 1:19 PM

Pokemon Yellow Version, my cousin gave it to me because I only had one game on my Gamboy at the time (Super Mario Land) which I finished several times. Then began my addiction to Pokemon games haha...

PlatinumDude September 23rd, 2013 10:33 AM

Ruby and Sapphire are my first Pokemon games. They were the games that got me into the gaming side of Pokemon.

alisaie September 23rd, 2013 10:37 AM

Pokemon Silver and Pokemon Gold. Got them both for my eighth birthday along with my Gameboy Color. Since the first one I put into the gameboy and started playing was Silver I guess that one would have to be my very first.

Rengoku September 23rd, 2013 11:03 AM

My very first is the Pokemon Yellow; Then Gold before I actually bought Red because I've always liked the Charizard picture on the Pokemon Red cartridge but I was too young to know that Red and Blue were released before Yellow. My dad was the one whom bought Yellow alongside my first Gameboy Colour.

sh1nyzorua October 5th, 2013 5:27 PM

Pokemon Dash is technically the first Pokemon game I got, it came with a DS Lite I bought online. I never really played it that much though. Then I played Pokemon Ruby on an emulator, but something messed up in the emulator and my game never saved. So I finally got Pokemon Soul Silver this January, and that's the first real Pokemon game I ever got, I suppose.

Gogoat Rocks! October 5th, 2013 5:51 PM

Pokemon Ruby. that's the game I started with and the game I know most about.
I started playing when I was 6. and what was my first thought about this game.
"Why are there bananas strapped to Dinosaurs chins?"

lol Tropius

AuroraBeam October 5th, 2013 5:59 PM

My first game was Yellow, I got it along with my first GBA one christmas when I was either 7 or 8. Got me hooked and is why my favorite pokemon is Pikachu. <3

Haven't missed any of the series since except B2/W2. I'm going to have it and play it after I play X.

waveguidebuizel October 5th, 2013 6:30 PM

Hmmm, I think technically, our (I shared with my brother) first was the Pokémon Trading Card Game for GameBoy. But as for the main series, Gold, because we were afraid to ask for one of the Gen I games earlier. =P Ah, good memories with that Gold...

Fairy Tale~ October 5th, 2013 6:52 PM

pokemon soul silver i got it on my birthday.

Random Man2 October 5th, 2013 11:23 PM

My first Pokémon game was Pokémon Red.

TRGrunt October 6th, 2013 6:14 AM

Mine was Pokemon Blue, good times.

hypnoticsoul October 6th, 2013 11:08 PM

my first game was firered which i got as a gift from my grandmother. like the op i have an emotional attachment to that little cartridge. i still play it sometimes, even with the bad memories surrounding my struggles against the elite four that i could never beat when i was 6.

BoredForLife October 7th, 2013 12:36 AM

Ruby was my first...
Though that might sound perverted :]

seishiro-san October 7th, 2013 12:42 AM

Pokemon Blue, that's where it all started for me. Brings back memories :D

Mickeycricky October 7th, 2013 12:46 AM

My first was Pokémon FireRed. My parents wouldn't let me get a Gameboy Color, so I was stuck waiting until I was 10 to FINALLY get my Gameboy Advanced. It was the best Christmas ever :')

pokemon-hack October 20th, 2013 9:41 AM

the first game that i played was silver and my first was cyndaquil

NavyBlue October 20th, 2013 9:48 AM

My first game was Emerald. I loved it so much. I miss good ol' Hoenn.
I chose Treecko then, when I was like 4, 5, or 6. Then my brother went and lost it. :l

Goatie October 20th, 2013 10:46 AM

Pokémon Gold

I know my sister had it and allowed me to play the game on her gameboy.. I don't remember how she got it though.. probably a birthday or something.

But yeah, that was my first pokémon game.. I think I was around 4 or 5 years old?

And I had lotsa fun with it.. Specially combined with the pokémon anime which I was a big fan of at the time.

Mystify October 21st, 2013 8:03 PM

Pokémon Ruby. I'd been a fan of Pokémon for longer than that and did have a Game Boy Color, but for some reason I never was interested in the games until years later.

Christopher October 21st, 2013 8:40 PM

Pokemon Red, been with it since gen 1, kinda fell out of it during gen 5 but I'm back.

Pyromaniac45 October 21st, 2013 10:22 PM

Pokemon Red when I was 8 years old. I've never missed a generation, and I've never stopped playing! :3

Nomine October 21st, 2013 11:27 PM

Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire were my first Pokémon games. Shortly after, I got every other game including the ones that released before Ruby/Sapphire (Red, Blue, Gold, Silver, and Crystal) Haha! Ruby/Sapphire was my first step into playing the games even though I had been watching the animé for a lot longer. The Generation III Hoenn games remain my favourite series so far. I'm still hoping for a remake!

Little Oshawott October 22nd, 2013 1:25 AM

I think my first game was Pokemon Yellow

Chotix October 22nd, 2013 5:23 AM

Either Emerald or Sapphire. I got it from my sister in law when I was 7. I had 2 shinies and a level 100 Blaziken, but my friend restarted it thinking it was my extra copy.

JohnnyFenson October 22nd, 2013 7:12 AM

Mine was Pokemon Red, and Crystal.
I got them at the same time

:)

CrowSvenson October 22nd, 2013 8:33 AM

Red and Green. I almost miss the monochrome screen of the original gameboy...

SpokeyDokey October 22nd, 2013 8:37 AM

Blue. Reading so many non R/B titles being posted makes me feel incredibly old.

Blastin'Tyruntz October 22nd, 2013 9:59 AM

Pokemon Yellow. Think i said it enough times already LOL. I was 2 when he came out but i played it when i was 6-7. Because of this game, I got hooked to pokemon. For the last 6 months i didn't even played anything else beside pokemon ROMS and DOTA 2.

Kikaito plush October 22nd, 2013 11:20 AM

my first game was pokemon Yellow that I got for christmas

Dreg October 22nd, 2013 3:43 PM

Mine was Pokemon Red, when I was about 8. My Ma got me it for Christmas as well as the Gameboy Color to go along with it.

Kyeto November 1st, 2013 1:49 AM

My first was Pokemon Yellow. I managed to convinve my friend to lend me his gameboy and from then i continusly played that game until Pokemon Silver came my way.

Aslan November 1st, 2013 2:01 AM

I started with Platinum. Why did I pick it? I was eight and it was the latest thing out. Obviously I wanted it after years of watching my sister battle with digital monsters. The newest game was bound to be the best. I was really late to the series but I don't regret picking it up. Better late than never! The experience has been magic ever since. :]

Marionz November 1st, 2013 5:42 AM

Pokemon Red > Pokemon Yellow > Pokemon Crystal > Pokemon Emerald > Pokemon Platinum > Pokemon HG/SS > Pokemon B/W > Pokemon Y

Pilkie November 1st, 2013 5:46 AM

My first Pokémon game was Pokémon Gold for the Gameboy Color. It was also my first video game, so it meant a lot to me.

Timbjerr November 1st, 2013 3:24 PM

Played Red first and owned Blue a couple months later.

Pave Low November 1st, 2013 4:41 PM

Pokemon Yellow. I remember when my Dad came into my room when I was really young and gave it to me. I was so excited to play it!

tortillamuncher November 1st, 2013 6:20 PM

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/3/3a/Crystal_EN_boxart.jpg/250px-Crystal_EN_boxart.jpg
I actually stole it from my babysitter's house and played it on a translucent purple GBC that my brother "found" at school. My family was stingy.

Shimokane November 1st, 2013 6:40 PM

Pokemon Red & Blue. I got both of these games as a Christmas gift from my grandma plus a Pokemon Game Boy Colour. I played Red more than Blue, thus, Red is all beaten up and Blue is in great condition. I later started choosing a version later on. (Silver, then Crystal, then Sapphire, then FireRed, and then Emerald) I later got LeafGreen after I lost FireRed. :/
I got into the GameCube and bought Colosseum and rented XD. I eventually bought XD and beat both versions with ease. (I used 2 Umbreons :p)
When Diamond & Pearl came out, I decided to buy both of them, but got more into Diamond and gave my Mom Pearl (She is a die-hard Pokemon fan) I bought Platinum, then Soulsilver, then Black, then Black 2. And finally, I bought X. :D
Now, don't get me started on the other Pokemon games (Trozei, Dash, Channel, Rumble, etc...)

PumpJack November 1st, 2013 8:09 PM

Myself and my best friend always got the counterparts of each other's games so we can trade. I got Blue, Gold, Sapphire, Diamond, and White- he's got Red, Silver, Ruby, Pearl, and Black. He's also got Black 2.

I'm a little behind. My life has been pretty hectic these past few years, so I haven't even finished White yet, and completely skipped B/W2.

Deivii November 1st, 2013 9:19 PM

My first Pokemon game was Pokemon Blue Version. My brother and I played that game everyday after school. It was hilarious because my brother used his Raichu so wrong, he literally only used Mega Kick, and if it missed, he got so mad LOL.

Powerstars November 1st, 2013 9:29 PM

Pearl. So many memories of Gen IV. I almost want Platinum for faster battles and Distortion World, but I'm waiting for what GF has up their sleeves.

Sinjuda November 1st, 2013 9:55 PM

Original Blue. Mom and dad gave it to me as a b-day gift at the park. I to this day Do not know how a 6 year old jumped half his height off the ground in enjoyment.

Lt. Surge's Raichu November 1st, 2013 10:30 PM

Blue. Man, that was such a worryless time..

First game I ever played was Blue, I had to borrow my friend's copy and Gameboy because I didn't have one at the time... A few years later when gold a silver came out I was able to get a Gameboy color from another friend. Then I quickly went out and bought Red, Blue and Gold and Silver. Still have all four games... good times =P

My first was Pokemon Blue, which I shared with my brother. Well, I'm honestly not quite sure whether I shared it with him, or if it was just his and I borrowed it all the time. But in any case, it was the first Pokemon game I ever played. And boy did I play it. A lot of hours have definitely been wasted with that game, and the fun thing is, I never really made much progress in it most of the time, partly because my brother was usually the one playing through the game, and I wasn't allowed to go any further. So a quite restricted experience :p

The first game I ever personally owned was Silver though. After having loved Blue, and while still being a big-time fan of the franchise in general, my mom bought both generation 2 games for me and my brother, and thus, I finally had my own game to play through and do with as I liked. And even more time was spent with that game, and I finally actually managed to get some progress into the games :p

I don't own either of the two anymore though. I let a friend of mine borrow my Silver, and he somehow ended up losing it, and I gave away Blue along with my Gameboy Advance SP and a bunch of other games to one of my friends who didn't have the money to get a system themself, so I was without a Pokemon game for quite a lot of years honestly, and only recently got one again when I bought Black 2 and borrowed a friends' DS which he never used anyways :p

Pokémon Yellow for me.
Friends of mine owned red/blue and we talked about it one day. I still remember them lying to me and telling me, you could choose any of the 150 Pokémon as the starter Pokémon. lol I think I actually believed it at some point.

It was a pain in the ass to get my parents to buy it for me, but it was ****ing worth it. It shaped my childhood so much.
We played Pokémon for hours... Endlessly...
Fighting each other via link cable was kind of a friendship killer though. I remember countless heated arguments with a friend about how unfair sleeping moves are and he was (and still is) a sore loser.

I also remember vividly that we used to walk around with the Game Boys in our hands playing Pokémon. We even walked over benches and stuff just while playing. I remember I was going through the Victory Road in the game (maybe for the first time) and for some stupid reason I was walking backwards over a bench while playing. Of course I fell down with the back hitting the ground. But I didn't care about myself. I just panicky checked if the game is okay (and luckily it was).
I will never forget that.

Man, that was an awesome time.

Diamond actually. I bought it one day in a store when it caught my eye, I was really bored and staying in an apartment for a month with my parents when they were seeing their friends in a different state. So I beat the game out of complete boredom, and I loved it. I soon after bought pearl, then platinum. Platinum I think is my favorite as of today.

I now have played most every main series Pokemon game (Not XD or any others like that), whether rom version or not.

Pokemon Yellow, my cousin gave me his for Christmas since I always bugged him about playing his Pokemon games. Well worth it, half of the people I know is because of Pokemon.

I got red and blue at release and then yellow when it released too. I got a lime green gameboy colour to play them on.

edit: just remembered it wasn't launch, because my cousin got blue and i used to play it with her on her yellow gameboy pocket before i got mine. must've been a few weeks after launch because I remember she had a blastoise and a beedrill (and I evolved those lol).

When second gen arrived I got Gold. 2nd gen was sooooooo much better than first gen in every way. I played it so much that the catridge flash memory has died. You can start new games on it and save, but when you go to load there's nothing there.

I skipped 3rd gen as people had gone off it. then when diamond came out I bought that. skipped fifth gen and now I'm back with both x and y.

My first Pokemon game was Pokemon Yellow!

I remember my grandmother buying it for me back in 1999. I didn't know she had bought it for me so it was a wonderful surprise. I think around that time I had been getting very immersed in all things Pokemon so she probably predicted that I would like the game.

I loved playing Yellow; it probably why Pikachu is still my favorite Pokemon!
