Why not? Water typed Pokemon are among my favorites because of the pure diversity in the group. There are so many awesome Water types introduced each generation that keep getting better and better. They are all so diverse and able to learn a good range of moves that makes them excellent battlers. Water types are able to have amazing coverage with their Water STAB and most having access to Ice Beam to counter Grass and Dragon types that would normally wall them and that is astounding. Definitely one of the best types out there and there is no way that I wouldn't join a club for them! Not to mention that one of my favorite Pokemon of all time, Jellicent, is a Water type :D

Reason for Joining the Club:

My first Pokemon was a water-type! They've been on my team every generation and nothing feels complete without them. You've got fire and grass raging against each other and water's like the balancing force of all the types. I love playing in the sea or the ocean and to be able to use all of the monsters lurking underneath is pretty cool! Without them, you'd be stranded on some sort of desert forever. Diving was one of my favourite features and nothing could of been made possible without this type. They generally can just do almost anything! Their uniqueness gives them the power to have many different typings and certainly... interesting moves. How a Splash doesn't blind an opponent is beyond me, but I'll figure that out one day. :D

In general, I find water-types a huge help to the game! Plus most of them are pretty cute if I have to say so myself. :p

Well I love Water-type Pokemon, it's my fave type in fact. I am a natural love of the water so no surprise here. Water-types have great versatility to perform loads of different roles on a team and I always include a Water-type on my team. In fact, without Water-type Pokemon we wouldn't have the Pokemon we know today.

Welcome Chase, Narnia, and Hikari to Diving Deep. I look forward to reading your Water Pokemon related posts.

Reason for Joining the Club: I love Water-type since I first play Pokemon, since 1998. Water-types can tolerate different types of move attacking them, they've got only 2 weaknesses, which they can also beat those 2 types effortlessly by learning different types of moves! I take pride of the Water-type like an Empoleon!

It's sad that you took over the Water-type Club, since I should be the one who's doing that... ;-;
But frowning won't help,
now don't abandon the club or I will swamp you with high torrent of wave. ^^

Actually Sapphire Surf was closed due to an Inactive owner. I was sad when it closed, because I love Water Types. My team is built around 4 Water Type Pokemon.

Also welcome CloysterOyster and Fiery Dash to Diving Deep.

No kidding? That's sad, but thank you for creating a new one for us Water fans.

Is anyone excited for the new generation of Pokemon? We've got a few new Water-types like Clauncher, Skrelp, Froakie and Frogadier to add to the family. I can't wait to see what move sets were given to them and the release of the other Pokemon.

Reason for Joining the Club: Water-type Pokemon are one of my most favourite types of all time. They all have this cool and refreshing feel about them and most of them are really beautiful and powerful. Water-types are, for me, a must-have in every team. They are very viable and are useful in lots of situations. With an ocean-full of powerful water-type attacks, I can say that my love for these amazing types is ocean-deep. <3

I am. My team is already planned to have Clauncher, Skrelp, Froakie/Frogadier, and Squirtle/Wartortle/(Mega)Blastoise. I'm also putting Amaura/Aurorus in mt party because it reminds me of the Loch Ness Monster who lives in Water and just looks like a water type to me. I just want to see Frogadier's next stage so much.

On a side note, welcome Synerjee, to Diving Deep.

Pretty sure I was a part of the old water club but that died so.. waters are pretty diverse Pokemon with good balance between their offenses and defenses, plus they learn great moves. Surf, ice attacks, and Aqua Jet among others. They're definitely a huge help ingame; not only is Surf one of the best HMs for out-of-battle scenarios but it's very strong and reliable with 100% accuracy. My water types can usually both attack and tank moves, so they're extremely helpful!

Wartortle is so cool and he will always be one of my favorite waters and Pokemon overall. Just want to share this awesome official artwork of him:

Water Gym Leader September 21st, 2013 5:55 PM

Question Time:

Out of 6 different Water Gym Leaders (Misty, Wallace, Juan, Crasher Wake, Cress, and Marlon), who is your favorite and why?

My favorite Water Leader is Misty, because I watched her in the show, and beat her in generations 1, 2 , 4, and 5. Ever since I beat her I gained an attraction to Water Types.

Precious Tears September 21st, 2013 7:36 PM

Before Marlon's debut, the favorite spot actually belongs to Misty.
That tomboyish personality, Starmie are the most memorable part from her.
One would think that she looks like a Fire-type trainer if you watch the anime series,
that hair color, that temper... Hahaha! Though I wish that she have a lot of screen time in games, like the Gym Leaders in BW1.

For Marlon, I have a thing for swimwear (to clarify not fetish or hentai).
I love his tan skin and laid back personality, though his party is not that memorable like him.
His on screen time are not as much as Roxie and Cheren... Which makes it kind of sad...

Hikamaru September 21st, 2013 7:41 PM

My fave of the Water Gym Leaders is definitely Marlon, I have a soft spot for his awesome-looking hair and the fact he uses one of my fave Water-types, Jellicent as well! While his "tan lines" may not be appealing, I do love the way his dialogue is said. Prior to B2/W2 however, my fave Water Gym Leader was Misty, I mainly liked her due to the fact she looked a lot like me.

Sirfetch’d September 22nd, 2013 8:13 AM

I love Marlon as well. I mean come on, he uses a Jellicent! How awesome is that? I just felt that he was a really cool gym leader compared to the rest of the ones that appeared in Unova because of how well designed he was, how he played a small yet interesting role in the game, and the Pokemon that he uses. Definitely my favorite Water type gym leader thus far.

Water Gym Leader September 22nd, 2013 8:36 AM

You people and your Marlon. If I had to pick a Water Gym Leader from Gen 5, I'd pick Cress. I love Panpour and Cress is under rated in the games just like I am in competitive battles. Plus his team in the PWT is a lot better than Marlon's is.

Cress was ok, imo. I wasn't really a fan of the elemental monkeys, but Panpour was definitely the best of the 3 so Cress was naturally my favorite of the trio. I am not sure, but there is just something about this gym leader that irked me as well as the other two.

Cress and Simipour!? Yuck! Hahaha, just joking.
I don't see the trio as real Gym Leaders, (yes, yes. I know they give out badges...)
Plus they are too easy for me to win in PWT.
But Marlon's different :3c :3c :3c

CloysterOyster September 23rd, 2013 4:00 AM

Misty, she is the Water-type queen, and ironically the only female Water-type trainer/Gym Leader.

Oh, and for laughs, this is why you do not send a Rock or Ground-type into battle with a Water type:

On Black 2 I do. On Black, I have my 2 v 2, 3 v 3, and Rotation Battle teams. they are all different. I will move them all over to X and replace my Vaporeon with Frogadier's Final form and have Mega Blastoise.

So you guys just jumped ship. Might I ask why all my members aren't talking? Come on, all these Water Types and no ones talking about them. Come on guys. Share your teams. Share water based strategies, talk manga, anime, games, fanfic, something. we could be shut down for inactivity.

Precious Tears September 27th, 2013 2:52 AM

I'm so sorry, totally forgot about the thread! Because I was busy with my fiction works lately!

Here's my team as a Gym Leader in Sinnoh region,
My Pre-National Dex team: Empoleon(Signature Pokemon), Floatzel, Gastrodon, Vaporeon.
Post-National Dex: Empoleon, Swampert, Milotic, Gyarados, Vaporeon, Starmie

Empoleon and Gastrodon can take several hits, especially Special moves and it's a decent special attacker as well.
Floatzel has a great Speed and Attack stat, he needs to be part of the team. Vaporeon is a great supporter as well as a wall.

It is October 1st, only 10 more days till X and Y (I don't count today and I don't count the release date). You guys ready for the new Water Types? I know I am. First thing I'm gong to try to do is try to get the final evolution of Froakie. What about you guys? What are your water related plans?

Sun October 2nd, 2013 9:32 PM

I might have a all Water-Pokémon party.
Let's see what's in stores after 9 days.

Water Gym Leader October 3rd, 2013 5:08 AM

I feel really conflicted now because I want Mega Charizard X over my Mega Blastoise...I might do some trading just to get the Charizard X MegaStone and play on with my all water party.

I am welcoming Golden_spider to Diving Deep. He PM'ed his registration to me.

I also believe it is time for a new topic.

Out of every Water Type combo (ie. Water/Grass or Water/Rock) which is most useful and which is least useful.this is a typing based question.

Golden_spider October 3rd, 2013 4:11 PM

Hello everyone! also Water/Ground for the only 1 weakness and Water/Steel for Alot of resists. Least useful would Water/Poison because they can be weak to GROUND.

Sun October 4th, 2013 1:26 AM

But the move Earthquake is quite common out there so, it is not entirely useless. ;)

There are so many good combinations to be honest.
I have to agree with you Golden Spider, Swampert's typing makes him as one of the best in AG and Gen IV.

For least better combiantions, I think that honor belongs to Water/Rock like Barbaracle,
weak to Grass, Fighting, Ground, Electric moves. Most of those types are common move types in competitive, so Water/Rock couldn't last long in battles.

Water Gym Leader October 4th, 2013 8:06 AM

I see Water/Dragon as the best Water combo. It takes quarter damage from Fire and Water, half damage from Steel, double damage from Dragon and normal from everything else. Though this is a rare typing, Kingdra and Palkia, it is worth it with the right move pool and ability. A Kingdra with ability Sniper, holding a Scope Lens, and moves Dragon Pulse, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, and Dragon Dance. That Kingdra would prove to be a formidable opponent.

Gah forgot Water/Dragon... plus a kingdra with sniper and scope lens is very deadly if it gets a crititcal...

I prefer Kingdra with Swift Swim, it's my Politoed's trusty partner. :D

Water Gym Leader October 7th, 2013 6:43 AM

For the next few days I will be going into my Gen 3 games to breed a shiny Water Type. The question is which one. So I am taking a poll that will close in 11 hours. First poll is which generation Pokemon. I will move the Pokemon to Emerald to clone and share one with you guys. They will not be trained.
Gen 1, Gen 2, or Gen 3.
I will NOT breed Gen 4 or Gen 5 Pokemon.

Golden_spider October 7th, 2013 12:52 PM

I vote for Gen 3 because Mudkip. :)

Water Gym Leader October 7th, 2013 3:09 PM

So It looks like I am breeding a gen 3 Pokemon as of 1 vote out of 8 members.

Sheep October 7th, 2013 3:20 PM

So it's too late to vote? :( 11 hours isn't much, especially since I was sleeping and then at school for most of that time. If I may, I'd love to put in a vote for a second generation water type since those were among some of my favorites! Wooper, Marill, Chinchou, and several others were adorable and really fun to use. Shiny Marill is also lime green and looks amazing!
http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/6/69/Spr_3e_183_s.gif

But third generation waters are great as well so if you do end up going for that I'm 100% for it!

Water Gym Leader October 7th, 2013 3:39 PM

there is still 3 hours and 20 minutes till poll close, but I go to bed at 11 and stop internet at 10, in 3 hours and 20 minutes its 10 in Connecticut.

I'll be back in 3 hours and in the event of a tie I am the tie breaker.

EDIT: I'm extending the poll another 24 hours so at 11pm EST it will close.

Water Gym Leader October 8th, 2013 2:57 PM

Reminder, my Water breeding poll will close in 4 hours.

Water Gym Leader October 12th, 2013 5:10 AM

So I'm going to go get my games in a little under an hour. I'm nerding out with this, by wearing my Squirtle shirt, 2 PokeWalkers, my 3DS in a Diamond and Pearl carry case, and my Water Stone necklace. Also I want my Froakie now.

Water Gym Leader October 16th, 2013 1:11 PM

So we now have Gen 6 Pokemon and I have the little Sprites so you can now have them as your partner Pokemon if you so wish. and we now have 8 new Water Type pokemon: Froakie, Frogadier, Greninja, Binacle, Barbaracle, Skrelp, Clauncher, and Clawitzer. What do you guys think of the new Pokemon?
Honestly I like them all except Binacle and Barbaracle. Their designs are just scary and god awful respectively.

I came to this thread for that exact reason.. I got 27 friends right now and 0 water.

Water Fans Rejoice! We now have Chain Fishing. At last a way to get Shiny Water Types a bit easier.

Sun October 22nd, 2013 2:28 AM

I have Water but only some Wooper and Bibarel. :(

Is it me or it seems that GF favors Water-type so much. {XD}
Think about it, we don't have much moves with recoil like Leaf Storm or Flare Blitz. xD
Our only issue is the accuracy, moves like Crab Hammer, Hydro Pump. Water-type FTW. ^^

Water Gym Leader October 22nd, 2013 7:22 AM

It has come to my attention that Fiery Dash is no longer active on this site. He will thus be removed from our fan club. As a side note we will be hosting a Water tournament. It will be in Gen 5 games.

Topic: With Pokemon X and Y having been out for almost 2 weeks now, is anyone disappointed in the lack of water routes in this Generation? Every generation has added an new water route, except for generation 6 as of now. I know that Route 8 is a Water route, but you can get through it without having to use surf and also there is a distinct lack of Water Pokemon with I was okay with, but now I'm not.

I hope more new Pokemon are released. If they come out with a Pokemon Z game that some seem to think will happen, hopefully more Water-types will be introduced.

Not to mention that they have some of the best attacks, plus STAB. I really love the colour scheme of them, too.
Misty has always been my favourite gym leader, hands down :P I also loved it when Wallace used Milotic in R/S/E. Vaporeon is my favourite (if you couldn't already tell :P) because again, Vaporeon is very elegant, and not to mention adorable!

I've also sent you a PM containing user bars that I've made, it'd be cool if you checked them out.. thanks!

Here is a new topic to discuss: Which Water typ pokemon has best design is your opinion?

xVaporeon October 27th, 2013 5:00 AM

My favourite water-type design is probably Suicune or Vaporeon (biased? :P)..
I've always loved Suicune for some reason, and Vaporeon the same. I guess I'd just love to see them swim though a lake or river, I think it would be really beautiful. Graceful and elegant, too.

Water Gym Leader October 27th, 2013 7:42 AM

For me the best design on a Water Pokemon has to be I'd have to say Mega Gyarados or Kyogre. I love the way the red is incorporated into their designs.

Good to see that we have more Water-type fans. I'm sure the Captain will approve you two! Please express your opinion about our current topic:
Which Water type Pokémon has best design?

My opinion is Suicune. That silky hair screams water, like the waves in the ocean. :) Its colors also suits its Dex entry: which it purifies polluted water. How about you two?

AluminiumOxide October 28th, 2013 4:10 AM

Gyraodes Cause he has an unique design he really look like the King of the water he look like a Beast for me with great design he also have some really good Moveset and States.

GryphusHUN October 28th, 2013 5:16 AM

I think that Kabutops has the best design, why? BEACUSE NO ONE WILL THINK THAT HE/SHE IS A WATER POKEMON :D

Captain, what's yours?^^

My favorite Water Pokemon is Blastoise. He is the First water Pokemon i trained to evolve to its final stage. my favorite Pokemon overall is My Shiny Mudkip. I was lucky enough to get him the first time I started Pokemon Sapphire and he is still with me today in Black 2.

Lesqx November 3rd, 2013 9:24 AM

All Water starters is awesome :D I Like Blastoise, Swampert, and Feraligatr ( totodile and feraligatr is sweet ^^ ) If i can pick or catch this 3 pokemons, i have to do! :)

Sun November 3rd, 2013 9:28 AM

After fighting over the Piplup line and Mudkip line with some several other too lol
I decided to pick the Mudkip line,
I remember how bulky and strong was this fella, he saved me for numerous times -- as a Mudkip, Marshtomp or Swampert.
Unfortunately unlike the captain.... I do not have the said Swampert anymore.
Though he's always here in my heart. :)

One should not underestimate both Pokemon! Especially the latter one.
Jellicent and Tentacruel have high S.Def, they are handy and helped me through for numerous times.
Bibarel on the other hand can learn a lot of HM moves and its a good helper.
Not to mention, it's Abilities are special too -- Moody, Simple. {:3}

Miau November 3rd, 2013 10:06 AM

Whee, joining!

Username/Nickname: Miau
Partner Pokemon: Miette the Froakie, my starter in X!
Reason for Joining the Club: Well I realized that Water-types are my favorite when I noticed that somehow I always end up with at least a couple of Water Pokemon in my party in all my playthroughs. Water-types are just so versatile, and their designs are so varied, it's hard not to have at least one favorite among them :)

I can't ever decide on a favorite tbh, my favorites always change depending on the Pokemon I'm using in-game, or the Pokemon featured in the anime. Right now, I adore Froakie/Frogadier/Greninja, and you can thank both the games and the anime for that. My Miette is a blast to use in battle, fast and strong, and she is hilarious in Amie. And Ash's new Froakie is just so great!

I've also rediscovered my love for Lapras, who's been one of my favorites ever since I was a kid, and I've used her in post-game Unova and now in Kalos. Her new Surf animation is so great, it makes surfing and fishing so much fun ^^

Bibarel only for HM? Hmm, good idea :) But my think only for this :D

And.. Welcome Miau to our club! ^^

Miau November 3rd, 2013 2:51 PM

Thank you for the warm welcome, guys ^^

I don't like it when people look down on certain 'mon and call them "HM slaves", and Bibarel is a perfect example for this. He can learn many HM moves, so I see him as a good Pokemon for a playthrough or post-game, wouldn't you say? And he's not the only one, in post-game Unova in B2, I always have my Wailord with me, he knows Surf, Waterfall, Dive and Strength, so he's vital for me. I guess every Pokemon has a purpose they fit the most, so they should be appreciated for what they do, right?
