Sirfetch’d September 26th, 2013 4:58 AM

I wouldn't want to use the hangouts if it limited my computer speed as mine isn't great as it is. I guess though it being free is a plus.

Also, good morning DCC!

Tsutarja September 26th, 2013 5:22 AM

Good morning DCC as well! How are y'all doin today on this Thursday? :3 (maybe Friday already for some?)

Sirfetch’d September 26th, 2013 5:24 AM

I am doing really well, but I am massively tired haha. I stayed up most of the night streaming Breaking Bad which wasn't the best idea considering that I had a meeting at my college at 7:30. I got through that though so now I am free for the rest of the day and plan to do nothing but browse PC and hopefully take a good nap later :D

Tsutarja September 26th, 2013 5:31 AM

I didn't get my usual amount of sleep for some odd reason overnight.. I wasn't really able to fall asleep until midnight last night and I woke up at 6:30 this morning, and I can't seem to nap this morning to catch up. I really hope being out of school isn't turning me insomniac. :/

Sirfetch’d September 26th, 2013 5:36 AM

I think I finally fell asleep around 4:30 and woke up about 6:15. I can function on that little sleep, but I am probably going to nap in a few minutes so I am not overly tired tonight as we are having dinner with my grandma.

Tsutarja September 26th, 2013 5:37 AM

I wish we (my family) were able to have dinner more often with my grandmother.. we used to go out to eat with her once a month on Fridays but that hasn't happened in a while now. But at least she comes over for Thanskgiving and Christmas dinners to be with us. :)

Sirfetch’d September 26th, 2013 5:42 AM

We have dinner at least 4 times a month usually each weekend with my grandma. After my grandpa passed away she has been quite lonely so she likes to have dinner with us a lot. I am not complaining though as she is a fantastic cook :D

Hiatus September 26th, 2013 5:50 AM

I've slept for only four hours last night. Usually, I get to sleep for six to seven hours. I drank a cup of coffee after dinner yesterday, which is probably why I couldn't get enough sleep. I'm never, ever going to drink coffee again during the nighttime, that's for sure. xD" Other than that, my day's going all right. College started for me today, but I wasn't required to attend all classes. I'd have to go to every class from tomorrow, though.

Sirfetch’d September 26th, 2013 5:53 AM

I made the mistake of drinking caffeine as well last night which was another reason as to why I was up so late. I hopefully wont make that mistake again, but I have said that before ~_~.

Also good luck with college :D

Tsutarja September 26th, 2013 7:53 AM

Good luck with college Perdition! ^-^

And I haven't had caffeine regularly in a few months now.. too bad a lot of caffeinated drinks have sugar in them, which totally goes against my diet. Oh well.

Tsutarja September 26th, 2013 7:53 AM

Good luck with college Perdition! ^-^

Sirfetch’d September 26th, 2013 7:55 AM

I have to have caffeine everyday or I get headaches bad and I am not sure why this happens but it does. I don't mind though as most of my favorite drinks such as tea and Dr. Pepper are caffeinated.

derozio September 26th, 2013 8:12 AM

I'm an eighteen year old who has never drank tea or coffee in his life. I only drink milk. :p

Oh, and I love my avatar. So proud of myself for making something like this. -pats on my own back-

Meganium September 26th, 2013 8:37 AM

*twitch* I had two cups of coffee this morning and right now I feel WIRED.

later on i'm gonna crash. xD But I neeeeed things done today. D:

Shiny Celebi September 26th, 2013 11:05 AM

I only drink 2 cups of coffee a day when I get Starbucks or something. I prefer coffee or cola for caffeine.

Kanzler September 26th, 2013 11:26 AM

I don't drink coffee, unless as a performance enhancement. I make do with sniffing small amounts of alcohol - this wine smells like honey.

Sirfetch’d September 26th, 2013 11:37 AM

I am not a coffee drinker either because I just don't like hot drinks. I know that cold coffee is an option, but idk. I just can't develop a taste for it. The smell though is fantastic and is one reason that I absolutely love it when my parents make it in the morning.

Kanzler September 26th, 2013 11:55 AM

Yes! Iced coffees are awesome. There's a thing called Timmy's over here that makes it doable on a daily basis (though I don't).

Sirfetch’d September 26th, 2013 12:38 PM

hmm I suppose that I could give iced coffee another try as it has been years since I tried it. Hopefully I have developed a taste for it because drinking Dr. Pepper everyday for caffeine isn't good for me at all D:

Tsutarja September 26th, 2013 12:41 PM

I guess I broke the trend today saying I haven't had caffeine in a while, because I drank iced tea with my lunch today haha..

I've never tried iced coffee (the ones that come from fast food places like McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts) but I have made coffee several times in the past and put ice cubes into the cup. Coffee is delicious when cold if you ask me.

Sirfetch’d September 26th, 2013 3:30 PM

Tea with lunch is the best thing ever <3 I just wanted to say that I am so proud of myself for resisting the urge to drink a soda for dinner, but have a glass of lemon water instead :D

Hiatus September 26th, 2013 3:47 PM

I get to drink iced tea and iced coffee six to eight times every week. I work at a Dunkin' Donuts store, so it's all free for me. I always have them when I'm on my break, haha. I never put any sugar on them, because I want to keep their calories at a low level. I do use artificial sweeteners every now and then though, such as Splenda and Equal.

Have any of you ever tasted the new barbecue/ranch chicken sandwich from Dunkins? I have, but it just didn't taste too good to me. ): The chicken tasted kind of like eggs, for some reason. Maybe if they had added a little more salt into the patty, it would've tasted better.

Nathan September 26th, 2013 4:43 PM

Whenever I see some coffee, I drink it. But now I tend to limit it though.
Btw how was your first college day Perdition?

Tsutarja September 26th, 2013 4:51 PM

I haven't had anything from Dunkin Donuts in forever, except for maybe when I had a donut earlier this year (back in the spring) as part of a class reward for something.. other than that my parents go to Dunkin Donuts every morning for their coffee and they also get coupon books from Dunkin once in a while and my dad often uses them too for discounts.

Hiatus September 26th, 2013 5:10 PM

Dunkin' Donut stores give out free calenders at the start of every year. There are twelve pages on each calender, and every page includes two coupons, which gives you a total of twenty-four DD coupons. If you're ever planning to save some big money at Dunkins, then this would probably be the best way to do so. Haha.

Quote:

Btw how was your first college day Perdition?
I've been to college before, so this wasn't exactly my first day. ^^" It was okay, though! Finally got the chance to see some of my old friends.

Honest September 26th, 2013 5:10 PM

My mommy works in Dunkin Donuts. And I get free donuts every now and then. <3

i wuv mommy

Eevee September 26th, 2013 5:23 PM

I've never been to Dunkin Donuts o:
I like Tim Horton's :3 The stuff is cheap, tasty and has many stuff I like. Though they took away the hot apple cider...HOW COULD THEY!? ;__;

Honest September 26th, 2013 5:28 PM

Timmies (that's the nickname, right?) looks pricey to me. :C I was there when I went to Canada, but I don't recall the prices much. It looks very similar to Starbucks, minus the pompous look SB has imo. They have a few Timmies in Manhattan, I think. Might go visit one in the future if I can find it. Num num

Kanzler September 26th, 2013 5:50 PM

Wooaah similar to Starbucks? No wayy - I can't afford Starbucks but I can afford Timmies :D That's where I go for my Earl Grey. With Lemonnnn~ jk i don't think they do that

Hiatus September 26th, 2013 6:09 PM

I, actually, have never heard about Timmies. xD" As for Starbucks, their food and drinks are delicious, but they're ridiculously pricey. I've once had their salted caramel mocha and pumpkin cream cheese muffin, and they cost me somewhere around seven to twelve dollars. With that amount of money, I would've been able to buy sandwiches, fries, and sodas from McDonald's for my entire family. Haha.

Kanzler September 26th, 2013 6:31 PM

Best value-to-price order for me is 3 Chicken Jr's :P I think it comes down to less than a Big Mac in price.

Tsutarja September 26th, 2013 6:39 PM

A place I wish I could afford for sure would be Five Guys for fast food.. they are like the best all around for burgers and fries if you ask me..

Kanzler September 26th, 2013 7:03 PM

I haven't been there myself - how is it? I've heard really good reviews.

Tsutarja September 26th, 2013 7:06 PM

Oh my gosh Five Guys is delicious (just hopefully you don't have a peanut allergy as they do serve peanuts for customers while waiting).. the french fries are fresh cut and friend right at the restaurant and the burgers are completely delicious..

Kanzler September 26th, 2013 7:15 PM

They're huge eh? And terribly unhealthy too ><

Tsutarja September 26th, 2013 7:22 PM

Well yeah its fast food and fast food isn't the healthiest :p

But I should warn you, even for a small fries at Five Guys, you'll get quite a lot! So if you ever order from Five Guys, go with a small fries unless you're either a) ordering for a lot of people or b) saving some for leftovers

Kanzler September 26th, 2013 7:28 PM

Aww man I just checked out that their basic burger is 700 cal, 39 gm protein, 39 gm carbs and 43 gm fat :\ I'll probably be good with just a burger :P

Hiatus September 26th, 2013 7:37 PM

I've never been to Five Guys before, unfortunately. I have seen a few of their stores in Manhattan, though. Have any of you ever tasted any burgers from KFC? Fried chicken are KFC's specialty, but their burgers are extremely yummy. My dad bought a few of their rancher burgers for dinner last month, and I ate two of them. As soon as you took a bite, you would immediately hear the chicken starting to crunch inside of your mouth. xD

Kanzler September 26th, 2013 7:40 PM

Aww man fried chicken, I love fried chicken. I don't remember the last time I've had a KFC burger though - I don't eat fried stuff anymore, just grilled for less fat and sodium.

Aeroblast September 26th, 2013 7:47 PM

I really like the potato wedges and biscuits from KFC.

Hiatus September 26th, 2013 7:51 PM

It's okay to eat fried stuff every once in a while. Nothing bad would happen to you, honestly. d: If you're on a diet, I've heard that it's actually good to have a "cheat day" every week. During your cheat day, you're allowed to have anything within three to four thousand calories.

Kanzler September 26th, 2013 7:55 PM

Wut. That's... rather incredible but spread out over 7 days that cheat day would seem like a surplus of 200 ish? I don't even think I could eat 3000 in a day XD Unless I was really working my butt off doing intense physical labour for the entire day, like marching or running or something.

Hiatus September 26th, 2013 8:42 PM

Well, yeah, I guess that would depend on how intense you work. xD Three thousand may be a bit too much for a cheat day, but you may definitely consume over two thousand calories if you like. I, personally, don't have a cheat day. I don't need it either, since I'm not really on a diet. d:

alisaie September 26th, 2013 8:44 PM

I'm skinny so I don't need to go on a diet. I do however need to start exercising because while my upper body is skinny and my hip bones stick out and such my thighs aren't skinny and it's bothersome. :(

Kanzler September 26th, 2013 8:45 PM

I just don't do cheat days haha! It's all regimented, all organized.

Wait thighs aren't skinny? :S

Meganium September 26th, 2013 8:47 PM

ohhhhhhhhhh my goodness you guys. in class today, my professor brought in some homemade Chinese chicken salad and some nutella-filled wontons. It was the best thing I have ever tasted. I literally just stuffed myself all class long and right now I'm on withdrawl. xD

that salad was probably the most healthiest food I have ever eaten since fruit salads. xD It was packed with a ton of vitamins.

Kanzler September 26th, 2013 8:53 PM

Nutella filled wontons? How does that even work? And I've never had a Chinese chicken salad before :S

Now you made me feel like craving somthing in the middle of the night... Other than that I should really be heading to sleep.

Hiatus September 26th, 2013 8:59 PM

I've made salad for lunch once, with lettuce, mushrooms, slices of pickles, raisins, and pieces of some of our leftover grilled chicken. It was okay, but it just didn't taste as good as the ones from iHop or McDonald's. I have no idea what makes their salad so delicious, though. D: Maybe it's the seasoning?

Meganium September 26th, 2013 8:59 PM

and I should've asked him for the recipe on the chicken salad.

I am so making these because that just looks OMG so good *.*

Kanzler September 26th, 2013 10:43 PM

Maybe you can add like, fruit preserves or orange rinds or minced mint or chopped nuts or something :O OMG and you can have like a tray with different sections being for different ingredients. Epik party food! OMG if you want to go super asian mode you can try salted duck yolk, melon and sesame seeds, red bean puree, red date puree, or lotus seed filling! You can go white mode and add cream cheese :P Cream cheese + nutella must be heaven.

Meganium September 26th, 2013 10:45 PM

SUPER ASIAN MODE GO.

I saw a recipe for Nutella Wontons WITH BANANA. I must try those someday. I really should. Maybe I should try for different fruits as well :D

Sirfetch’d September 26th, 2013 10:45 PM

BiS you are making me more hungry that I already am ;~;

Kanzler September 26th, 2013 10:49 PM

Mmmmm I'm a chef liek dat. Also I'm creppin on synn creppin on me right now. Wonder what she has to say about super asian mode? XD

Also, all of the above can apply for crepes. AND CRAISINS 11!!!1one1`!!

Hiatus September 26th, 2013 10:57 PM

They look so delicious... and crispy! o: I would've made some of these at home, but I don't think I would be able to since I don't have access to the exact ingredients. I may try to make some with peanut butter and pieces of Hershey's, but I'm not really sure how they will turn out though. I'm not that great when it comes to baking, so maybe I'll just end up burning them. xD

Kanzler September 26th, 2013 10:58 PM

Yes! Peanut butter will be very good. Maybe you could mix that up with cream cheese AND hazelnut spread :D wow, i wonder if they serve these at fancy restaurants - because they should. Ohh and what's that thing they do now with chili and chocolate? Maybe adding some spicy powder for kick too :P

Legendary Silke September 27th, 2013 12:01 AM

Ugh, chilli, the bane of my existence. :P

Kanzler September 27th, 2013 12:02 AM

Yo that reminds me ChiliDawgs where are you? Chocolate, chili, cheese and wine <3 All excellent in small amounts. Makes me feel like a sir.

Hiatus September 27th, 2013 12:06 AM

I've seen a lot of desserts made with chili and chocolate, including cake, muffins, cookies, pudding, and even ice cream. We have them all in our local bakery shop. (: My mom's baked some of those chili-chocolate cookies once a few months back, and it didn't taste too bad. It was kind of salty and bitter though, since that's how it usually tastes when you mix sweet things with something spicy.

Legendary Silke September 27th, 2013 12:57 AM

Every time I think of desserts, I never think of chilli. They don't go well in my opinion.

Hiatus September 27th, 2013 1:23 AM

I'm used to with appetizers being spicy, but as for spicy desserts... I'm not really used to that. xD Speaking of appetizers, you guys should try some taco meatball rings if you ever get the chance. It's basically an oversized onion ring made to look kind of like a mini taco, and it has a fried meatball stuck in the middle. It looks great, smells great, and tastes even greater! Haha.

Legendary Silke September 27th, 2013 1:56 AM

I don't really have the stomach capacity (or calorie balance) to go for things other than the main... unless it's cheat day.

MKGirlism September 27th, 2013 2:14 AM

Well, Autumn officially started last week, and it's still Sunny, although temperature went down a lot (it's 12 Degrees, at this moment).

Shining Raichu September 27th, 2013 2:55 AM

or something that isn't the weather

Typhon September 27th, 2013 5:52 AM

it's just cold in the morning for me now

Hikamaru September 27th, 2013 7:14 AM

It's spring in Australia right now, because we are always the opposite of what you Americans have. The weather here is alright for me I guess but that's because I tolerate the warmer months better, and yeah my birthday is next Tuesday too.

alisaie September 27th, 2013 7:16 AM

It's Florida so it's still pretty warm around here. Hopefully it'll gradually get cooler and it won't spring up to warm weather afterwards or jump right down to chilly weather for a week before warming up. But that's seriously asking too much of Florida's weather patterns haha.

At least it's getting to the time of year where things are less humid down here. I mean, last night was the first time in months I saw perfectly clear skies at sunset, so hopefully that's a sign that Autumn is here and that the rainy season is finished with here.

alisaie September 27th, 2013 7:26 AM

It must be finished with you because we're still getting rain during the night up here haha. Though I think this weekend is going to be fairly sunny with maybe some showers. Seems like it's going to be like that all week but as long as it's not down pouring while I'm driving (while I'm not driving its ok) it's fine by me. But yess less humidity is a godsend.

Legendary Silke September 27th, 2013 7:53 AM

Today is a bit of a windy day at my parent's home. It's pretty... cold. Unusually cold.

Meganium September 27th, 2013 8:22 AM

wow how did we go from food to weather? can we go back to food now? I'm hungry. Can anyone make me food? I'm running on 3 hours of sleep. :(

& it's abnormally windy here too...but I really hope it doesn't affect tomorrow. All that planning for nothing.

I miss that ChilliDawg as well. :( I want to throw him some gators.

alisaie September 27th, 2013 8:24 AM

I'm currently having two potato bread sandwiches before probably taking a very quick nap and then getting ready for class.

And speaking of Gators my brother has decided to come home for the weekend. Which means my sister and I will probably get nagged on about the things we've done wrong around the house aha.

Tsutarja September 27th, 2013 8:30 AM

I'd love to go to UF considering how I've been a Gator fan my entire life, haha.. but I'm also one of those people who would get homesick if they moved away for college :/

Football is fun. But I'm gonna join the intramural volleyball team on campus. Cause volleyball is heller awesome.

MKGirlism September 27th, 2013 9:01 AM

But BlahISuck, don't you realise that your football is not our football?

Nathan September 27th, 2013 9:05 AM

Don't see why Americans call this football since the ball is mainly in their hands. I only know/follow/like football(soccer).

Kanzler September 27th, 2013 9:11 AM

Don't you realize that their football is called football? It goes both ways. And it's not even my football, I'm not American. I've watched a skit by Key and Peele that talks about how ridiculous the players' names are. Any truth to this? :P

Tsutarja September 27th, 2013 9:22 AM

So what is football in Canada? Soccer or football as we Americans know it?

Kanzler September 27th, 2013 9:24 AM

We have a lot of immigrants and football fans that are true to the game, so you actually have to ask depending on who you're talking to. We don't follow American football nearly as much as you guys though :P Maybe only the NFL (I don't see a lot of people following the CFL). For most of us heathens though, we call football soccer and football football ^^

alisaie September 27th, 2013 10:10 AM

I just say American Football and Soccer to avoid confusion when I'm not talking to someone individually and know what they call which. That said I don't really follow either. My Mom has started watching the Gator Football games because my brother is in the band but that's pretty much it.

Nathan September 27th, 2013 10:30 AM

I use American Football and Football. No confusion at all.

Aeroblast September 27th, 2013 10:38 AM

I use the word soccer most of the time, but football if I'm talking to Europeans if I know that they are.

Yup, pretty much this. If I'm not sure, I'll just say soccer. They can get mad and correct me if they want to.

MKGirlism September 27th, 2013 12:14 PM

Locally, we call it "voetbal", which literally means "football".
Every time I read "soccer", I tend to read it as "sucker".
When talking English, I'm rather true to the nearest by English-speaking country, which is the UK, which call it "football".

But furthermore, I don't really care about that game, not even during UEFA.

Crux September 27th, 2013 12:15 PM

I'll participate in sports, but can't watch 'em.

That's pretty much me, especially when I talk with my pair on Skype most of the time, though he knows that I'm American and I know he's British, so I sometimes slip soccer through xD

In fact that reminds me.. about a month ago I told him I had some biscuits for lunch and he thought I meant cookies haha, because that's what cookies are called in the UK

It's the fault of the British that we call it that, though! :P

http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2010/06/the-origin-of-the-word-soccer/

Also from that page: Americans call our version of football as football because aristocrats preferred to play their sports on horseback when the game first was formed, while commoners played on foot.

MKGirlism September 27th, 2013 12:28 PM
