Chesnaught looks like Buzz Lightyear.

I think The lighting weather effect is to make pokemon paralyze, of course except for electric.

I thought it was going to boost Electric pokémon's attack :)

I hope so too!
And hopefully a pseudo-Leftover effect for Volt Absorb, but for a second... I doubt they will do that!

I said I think, so it's not necessarily true, it's my speculation.

So a new weather condition? I'm wondering how it'll be executed. Now fingers crossed that the seasons feature from 5th Gen will be retained, because I loved how some parts of Unova had accessibility change based on the season, and I'd love to see how cool Deerling and Sawsbuck's forms look in the full 3D graphics. The seasons added a very "realistic" feel to 5th Gen so it'd be silly to not include them in this game.

I'm also excited about this, the elite four would be challenging.

Yeah, it seems like Game Freak have learned their lesson from the weak levels the Gym Leaders and Elite Four were in 5th Gen. Maybe this was why they made the EXP Share now have functions similar to 1st Gen's EXP All.

New pokemon alert! Sorry if the link is a bust.

Late, but I'm liking the poison Pokémon of this generation. Hope to see a few more to adjust my mono-type Poison.

Slugdra was (confirmed?) to be Dragon/Fairy for those who didn't know.

Sun October 5th, 2013 4:40 AM

Is Roserade still Grass/Poison? I heard rumors of her becoming Grass/Fairy.
Like the rumor how the Togepi family ditched their Normal type for Fairy.

Roserade doesn't look much like a fairy to me, but it is in the Fairy egg group so maybe that's where this rumor may be coming from. I'm probably guessing it'll keep its current type, and lol if it did become Fairy it'd actually be 4x Poison weak.

Yes so that's why I'm hoping it to stay as part Poison-type. :P
Don't mess her up Game Freak! ><

Well, roses have barbs on their stems. That's why the Roselia line are part Poison-type after all! They don't really scream the look of a fairy to me despite being in the Fairy egg group. Roses fit not just Grass, but Poison-type way better than Fairy. It's fitting they should leave her typing untouched.

And I do have to admit I wasn't expecting Mr. Mime to have the same retconning to Fairy that Gardevoir had. Mr. Mime's appearance didn't look fairy-like to me either nor was in the Fairy egg group.

Can someone explain why Mr. Mime is a Fairy?
No matter what angle I try to look at it, it screams comedian-type more than Fairy. ~_~

What do you think about Mime Jr. though?
Will it also become fairy as well? Or just when it evolves?

BeefTaco October 5th, 2013 5:05 AM

Here's a Kalos pokemon recap list. This is just so people don't have to go through all those pages.

Misdreavus looks more Fairy than those two... :(

I'm thinking it could be either, I mean there was a rumor from that Kosthedin guy (I think) that Ralts and Kirlia were becoming Fairy-type like Gardevoir was. I mean, we weren't expecting Xerneas to be a Fairy-type didn't we?

And speaking of Fairy-types, I'm hoping we get Xerneas' stats leaked sometime especially that we've already seen Yveltal's. Yveltal appeared to focus on attacking stats, and given that mascot legendaries have the same Base Stat Totals but stats may be distributed differently. I could see Xerneas having close to the same stats as Yveltal, but switch its defensive stats with its offensive stats. Think of Ho-Oh and Lugia, one was more defense-focused and the other was more offense-focused.

I think Xerneas' stats will be abit less powerful than Yveltals. (JUST A BIT)

I mean, Fairy is Super Effective against Dark right?
I don't think Yveltal could learn any Poison / Steel type moves either. [Maybe Steel Wing? But Nobody would teach it that lol]

pokemonmasteraaron October 5th, 2013 5:12 AM

Do we know if Dedenne evolves? I've been hoping it will.

HaphazardAsylum October 5th, 2013 5:14 AM

so we are only at 66 so 70 could be true?
edit sorry missed 3 its 69 68 if you count m/f pyroar as 1

I don't think it will tho...
Plusle and Minun doesn't evolve.
Neither does Pachirisu.
Also don't forget Emolga.

Interesting thoughts there, but I do know a common tradition for mascot Legendaries (like Ho-Oh/Lugia, Groudon/Kyogre, Dialga/Palkia, Reshiram/Zekrom, Black/White Kyurem etc) is that they tend to have the same BST's but the stats may be distributed differently. I'm seeing a stat spread like Yveltal's but you know, I'm thinking they'd have Xerneas' highest stats be Defense/Sp. Defense as a counterpart to Yveltal's highest stats being Attack/Sp. Attack. You know, like pull a Ho-Oh and Lugia on us.

Don't really see Xerneas being the bulky type Pokemon though it might be true.

What's new since last night? I've heard that there have been several new Mega Evolutions over night, and is Roserade now Grass/Fairy? ;o

I'd scroll back through the pages but this thread is moving waay too quickly to keep up with anything.

Not confirmed that Roserade is Grass/Fairy though, just a rumor.

Mega Arcanine? You didn't miss much, theres also a pokemon called Bubblix, which is a Froakie ripoff.

I can see where you're going here, but I've been scrolling through Bulbapedia and came across a few Legendary duos and trios who have identical BST's but stats being distributed differently. There's some good pieces of stuff to look at here and here and you'll see that quite a few Legendary trios and duos have identical base stats, but stats may be distributed differently, and it's been quite a common trend for Legendaries that have a relation to each other.
