Rengoku October 2nd, 2013 3:42 AM

Is this confirmed legit?
If not, please do not mislead others and put it in the speculation thread instead. :/
But if it is legit, omg *___*

Orifiel October 2nd, 2013 3:43 AM

If three types would be there.
More like Ice, fire & Dragon. So, yeah, if this Mega Charizard
doesn't have the dragon type, I'm killing myself too.

bobandbill October 2nd, 2013 3:44 AM

Oh okay this is, uh, interesting.

From serebii.net

Charmandar wasn't a shiny in Origins - ergo, that leak earlier was not a shiny. Hum, how's that for coincidence. So what does a shiny mega form look like... @[email protected]?

it is! serebii and bulbapedia all confirmed, and there's sugimori artwork, and red was shown using it in pokemon origins

«Chuckles» October 2nd, 2013 3:45 AM

what, makes no sense, Origins was supposed to be an anime version of Pokemon Red and Blue does this mean there is a way to get this charizard in red and blue?!

I'm guessing Fire/Dragon. Even if it is the same typing as Reshiram, it will at least not be weak to Fairy attacks. And I know how so many wanted Dragon as part of Charizard's type.

Yeah I have to admit this caught me off guard. I wasn't even expecting Red to have a Mega Charizard in the Pokemon Origins series, let alone one with black/blue coloring.

BluuArrowz October 2nd, 2013 3:50 AM

I saw this coming as soon as he got the rock from lavender town. I realized that symbol right away. I just didnt think it would be this form. I was so confused when it came out black and different. I am so glad I chose Pokemon X. =)

It could just be possible that Origins ties in current knowledge of Pokémon, such as the Mega evolutions into the fact, despite it clearly taking place in the storyline of Generation one.

BeefTaco October 2nd, 2013 3:59 AM

swift13 October 2nd, 2013 4:02 AM

X is confirmed to be fire/dragon

swift13 October 2nd, 2013 4:05 AM

raised attack stat

ability: tough claws - raise damage if it makes direct contact

Sukiyomi October 2nd, 2013 4:08 AM

That ability is too boss! and the typing...idk if i even need tyrantrum on my team now!

EDIT: Im only disappointed a little in it's animation. Come on! those wings hardly move! didnt know they were trying to stick a kite on his back.

BeefTaco October 2nd, 2013 4:08 AM

I saw the trailer and it used Fire Blast and I think Flare Blitz? This form is probably gonna be stronger than the Y version. It's Fire/Dragon so its neutral on Fairy.

While I'm glad Charizard finally becomes A Fire/Dragon in this form, I don't particularly like that it isn't the same in Y. Although, I do prefer the Y Form better than its X Form in terms of design. Plus Drought + Solar Beam is a WIN.

This also confirms that Pokémon CAN change types during Mega Evolution even if they had two types before.

swift13 October 2nd, 2013 4:13 AM

problem rn: too many fire types to choose from, and dilemma between tyrantrum or mega char X

aaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAH

HaphazardAsylum October 2nd, 2013 4:14 AM

i am so glad i decided to pre order pokemon x so far all the version exclusives i prefer are on x including the mega's

Hikamaru October 2nd, 2013 4:19 AM

The official Pokemon site recently updated with Mega Charizard X, which is a Fire/Dragon-type and it gets a new ability called Tough Claws. According to info I read on Tumblr just now, it strengthens physical attacks yet I'm not sure which ones at this stage.

But yeah, I really do have to admit Y has been screwed over as far as version exclusives go so far, barring Yveltal.

Oh, and new trailer featuring Mega Charizard X is here for you to see:
