I already have me a 3ds lmao though I am planning on one day getting a 3dsXL

Firox October 7th, 2013 4:02 PM

My grandma got me a 3DS XL in February, I wanted one specifically for X&Y, so I am ready for the games. Originally I had been wanting to save $40 every month to get one (I would have enough for one in September).

Emfg October 7th, 2013 4:08 PM

Already got a 3DS for my birthday like a year ago with Mario Kart 7. Been waiting for Pokemon Y ever since it was announced. Seeing as I already finished Mario kart 7, and the online races are pretty boring (the game was a let down for me tbh) I really cannont wait D:

I have a perfectly fine blue 3DS XL, but I'm going to buy the 2DS. Just to support it, since I do. It's a cheaper solution for kids+People who can't handle the 3D. Plus it's built to be more durable. So I'll probably take it on my vacation trips and stuff with family. Would be a good backup too, in case my 3DS has an accident.

Already have a 3DS XL, whee. Though I certainly would have loved to purchase a Pokemon X/Y 3DS just to have it.. though it's a little out of my price range at the moment.

Starry Windy October 8th, 2013 8:28 AM

I already have a 3DS XL now, so I think I'll play Pokemon X and Y with my 3DS XL, even though I wish to afford to buy the X and Y Special Edition of 3DS XL.

Loki Laufeyson October 8th, 2013 9:15 AM

My boyfriend's friend sold his almost brand new 3DS to me a few months ago for 1/3 of it's original price, but if he hasn't made such a good offer I would totally buy a 2DS since it's cheaper.

Any feelings that it has a diffrence significant enough to get one along with your 3ds is just clever marketing by nintendo.

Hm, koff~

I don't think that is completely true. I'm definitely not a kid, and I still believe that 3D for gaming was a gimmick altogether; shooters in 3D, driving games in 3D, puzzles in 3D, it was ridiculous. The problem was that everyone should take a break from the screen, but they don't, and I think it really hurt the 3D aspect for gaming. I enjoyed the game I was allowed to much better with the 3D turned off than on. Since I don't like playing on a flat surface (and since Pokemon X Version will only include 3D options during battles) and as it shifts while clicking buttons, it's very annoying to have to correct the screen yourself. Also, the clam design is going stale for me, so this will kick up the dust a bit, koffi~

I decided to get a 3DS XL when X and Y were announced and ended up picking one up a few months later and have since enjoyed Fire Emblem, Mario Kart and Animal Crossing while I've been waiting for X and Y. Even if I could do it over again, I'd stick with the XL. Though it's not critical to my choice I like the 3D effect, and even more so I like the larger screen, and I have big pockets so I can still carry it around. For me, that is worth the extra cost over a 2DS.

Pikachu 3DS XL :)
It seems to do the trick!

man of steel October 8th, 2013 7:19 PM

I have the regular 3DS and the XL one, and I have both games, X & Y, when I play in XL it hurts my eyes, it isn't so great, the small one (regular one) is much better and easy on the eyes ^_^

Sneaky Truth October 8th, 2013 7:50 PM

Don't have either yet. I played on a family friend's 3ds xl and thought it was pretty cool, although it felt identical in ergonomics to my current ds lite and DSi. However the 3ds made my eyes feel funny, and considering my eyesight is deteriorating by the day (my new glasses almost aren't working anymore) I don't think I should really use any 3d features.

Plus $100 cheaper for the 2ds does sound nice. I just have to pick one up and get a feel for it first

DJTurtleslayers October 9th, 2013 12:06 AM

I already have a 3DS No point in buying another console now.

Zethremar October 9th, 2013 12:06 AM

I pre-ordered a 3DS XL Pokemon X and Y Blue for myself, it will be my first upgrade since buying my DSi, having a larger screen is just really appealing to me plus you know new shiny thing buy buy buy!

Sirfetch’d October 9th, 2013 12:10 AM

I bought a 3DS specifically for X&Y so I will definitely be using it. I want to get the full experience out of the games and I don't feel like I could do that with the 2DSs. I also just prefer the design and portability of a 3DS over the 2DS.

Synerjee October 9th, 2013 12:17 AM

If I were to get one, it would 100% be the 3DS. I dislike the 2DS's design, period.

You bring up a good point that I'd forgotten about, the portability factor. I spend a lot of time out of the house, either with friends or at TAFE (form of schooling for you non-Australian's). Being able to stick a 3DS in (majority) my pockets, or in a small carry case in my bag (so the screen doesn't get damaged), is very appealing, while the 2DS just seems as though it could be a bit awkward, nor do I particular like the carry case for the 2DS that I have seen so far.

Cataclysmic October 9th, 2013 12:46 AM

I still have my launch Aqua Blue 3DS, as well as a newer Blue 3DS XL. I'll probably end up playing mostly on the XL, but there seems to be a stuck pixel or something on the bottom screen. It's nothing major, but just enough to annoy me, lol. I know it's very redundant, but I also can't help but want to check out the 2DS since I almost never bother with 3D. Maybe I'm just indecisive. 8)

Ω Ruby and α Sapphire October 9th, 2013 12:49 AM

I got a 3DS to play Mario Kart 7 and Ocarina of Time 3D when they first came out. I would really like to buy an XL, but I don't quite have the money for it. Anyway, I really like the 3D effect, so personally I'm disappointed with the lack of stereoscopic 3D in the overworld.

Zorogami October 9th, 2013 12:53 AM

Since i didn´t buy the 3ds right away i got the XL version about a month after its release. i usually play in 2d, but every once in a while i like to try out the 3d effct, like when i play mario kart. I guess it´s going to be the same with X/Y, maybe i´ll just turn it on for the battles

Guy October 9th, 2013 2:51 AM

I don't have it yet, but within the next couple of days I'm going to go ahead and purchase a 3DS XL before I get X and Y on Saturday. Or I might just buy it the same day, I don't know. The 2DS isn't in my tastes, and quite honestly it's not even marketed toward someone like me anyway. So, I don't really have any interest in buying one. Plus, it's pretty ugly. D:

bobandbill October 9th, 2013 4:34 AM

I had a 3ds, and I got the blue Pokemon themed 3DS XL because it was so shiny. =p Don't need a 2ds, and doesn't have much appeal for me personally, especially now I have these two.

Alas, doesn't help me with any time problems. -_-

Superjub October 9th, 2013 4:43 AM

I already have a 3DS. :) I got it on release here in the UK haha. xD If I didn't have one the 2DS or even a 3DS XL seems like a good choice. :D

KittenKoder October 9th, 2013 5:13 AM

I have the 3DS XL, limited edition pink and white. I did wait to buy it until the announcement of Pokemon X/Y release date, so I guess I am lucky to have gotten the one I really wanted. However, if I had the extra money, I would buy the special Pokemon Y 3DS .... and never open it.

dscottobrien1 October 9th, 2013 6:55 AM

ive got a 3DS, got it for Ocarina of Time. wanted to get a pokemon XL, but decided to buy the Zelda WiiU instead, for Pokémon RumbleU
