Haven't played since Red/Blue, need help building a team for competitive play in X

Alright, here goes. Haven't played since generation 1 when it was new, but got hyped up for pokemon again after watching IGN's video review. Ordered a 3ds XL with Pokemon X yesterday.

Anyways, i'd like to get into the competitive scene because i like playing multiplayer games like BF3 and what not. Only problem is the mind-boggling amount of pokemon i've missed in my abscence.

Here's the criterias for my team
- One pokemon from each generation needs to be present
- No OP or overused pokemons. I'd much rather prefer those that are quite unusual on the competitive scene

Some pokemons i like based on design after a quick look are these :
Lucario
Blaziken
Umbreon/Psychic Cat version also, forgot the name
Krookodile
Noivern
Raichu
Blastoise
Doomdog or devildog forgot the name
Skarmory
Abomasnow
Gigalith
Flygon
Simisage
Bisharp

I love you. doom dog and the psychic cat made my night. if you want to get into battling go to smogon, especially if you want to look at the tiers. you can search for your pokemon and if theyre in an overused tier (aka, theyre used by pretty much everyone) you can decide if you want them or not. sorry im not really the right person to make a lot of suggestions, aside from that if you want to avoid op pokemon, you might wana kick blaziken off your team. blaziken was the first starter pokemon to be deemed uber, which is usually a tier reserved only for legendary pokemon.

Smogon is also in the process of updating and has nothing for any of the new pokemon (and megas) yet. It will be a while before we see anything from them, with new tier testing and whatnot. I'll let the singles players try to come up with something for you, but what I can tell you is that a good deal of what's in and what's not has been thrown out with the new metagame.

Doomdog and Psychic Cat are probably Houndoom and Espeon, if I guessed correctly.

Not much I can say at the moment but good luck.

Thanks for the tip, i will look into it! Unfortunetly Blaziken has grown on me, he's probably my best pokemon right now at lvl 46... Still haven't been able to make up my mind so i've bounced between quite a few pokemon through my journey so far.

That's a good point... Maybe i should just enjoy the game for now and play with the pokemon i like, and start breeding once Smogon has updated all their stuff for this game

Yes, that's correct! Still haven't been able to catch either one of them. Thanks man

---------------------------

The pokemon i've decided upon so far are

1. Blastoise/Lapras can't decide which one, i'd like to have it as a wall @leftovers
Surf
Ice Beam
Protect/Thunderbolt
Toxic

2. Blaziken physical attacker @zoom lens
Blaze Kick
Stone Edge
Sky Uppercut
Night Slash

3. Raichu if i choose Blastoise @choice scarf
thunderbolt
hidden power ice
focus blast
volt switch

4. i guess this would be a flying type maybe Dragonite or Noivern

how does the team look so far?

It looks pretty solid, you should throw in a Poison/Steel type in the mix so you can hit those fairy types hard.

Brave nature'd Honedge was just given a slot on my team

Anything else lacking?

I think you could use a good Psychic type with a nice Special Attack stat, such as Gardevoir or Alakazam.

Yes, i noticed an issue dealing with fighting pokemon yesterday

What about Sigilyph? SP attack stat is lower than the two you mentioned, but Psychic/Flying could help with my teams overall defensive weakness against ground
