i beat Elite Four for the second time -to train some pokemon- and i am trying to locate Articuno and the other legendary pokemon

AceTrainerBlaziken November 3rd, 2013 11:42 AM

I beat the game a couple of days ago and have since started a Wonder Trade Nuzlocke. It's got the same rules as a Nuzlocke except you Wonder Trade all the Pokemon you catch and go from there.

I'm currently outside Parfum Palace, and I have:
Zelda the Dratini (Lv. 11)
Giles the Surskit (Lv. 21)
Flare the Braixen (Lv. 22)
Fletcher the Fletchinder (Lv.22)
Niko the Aerodactyl (Lv.22)
Puma the Slowpoke (Lv.25)

And in the box I have the ones that are too high-leveled for me at the moment:
Becca the Barbaracle (Lv. 30)
Jester the Gourgeist (Lv. 36)
Gwen the Gothorita (Lv.49)

Megan November 3rd, 2013 3:42 PM

Jagan came a long way. After traveling the whole region in chase of Moltres he caught every Pokemon he came across. Unfortunately Moltres didn't even show up until no other Pokemon was left. After that Jagan set up a trap in Geosenge Town so Moltres had to retreat to Azure Bay. Unfotunately Jagan was already waiting there and what followed was an epic fight. The battle dragged on and on and at last there was a winner. So in the end Jagan was able to catch his nemesis.

Gallade (Jagan):
Lvl: 76
- Psycho Cut
- Mean Look
- Thunder Wave
- False Swipe

HM-Slaves: Crawdaunt and Swellow

Another fun story has ended. Still there are things I can do...
The only Pokemon left to get are some Preevos which I have to breed and Level-Up-Evolutions. Also I have to get my hands on Zapdos; don't know how I'm supposed to get it without losing one of my other legendaries, though...

Then I think I'll return to my competetive team and train it a little bit while maxing out Battle Chateau, etc.

PlatinumDude November 3rd, 2013 5:14 PM

Updating before I forget.

I beat Korrina and I got her Lucario and the Mega Ring. I'm out at Azure Bay now.

An Interesting Encounter:
I'm on my way to capture Mewtwo, so I'm running through the flowers in Pokemon Village when BOOM! a Ditto appears. My Alakazam is at the front of hte party, and he needs like...100 XP to level up, so I went ahead and Mega-Evolved and used Future Sight(for some odd reason.) Well, the Ditto transforms into a Mega-Alakazam and uses Psybeam, which crits. Yay. Suddenly, I realize I don't want my Alakazam in bad condition for when I face Mewtwo, so I try to run. Couldn't get away. Another psybeam to the face. Couldn't get away again. This goes on for a while, until I decide to attack. My Alakazam is in the red now. Ditto of course confuses me that very turn, and I hit myself. I try to run again, and I can't get away. Ditto gets one last attack on me...
I'm at 3 HP, literally. I try to decide which is more honorable: dying by confusion-induced suicide or dying by trying to flee.
...
Fleeing would be less humiliating, so I go with that and it finally escapes. Yep.

BUKKØW November 4th, 2013 8:57 AM

Just caught mewtwo with a duskball he had almost full health. It seems the legends are easier to catch in this gen.

So far to date ive caught xeneras with a quick ball and mewtwo with a duskball.

So glad I still have my masterball

NeonMewtwo November 4th, 2013 11:45 AM

Today's update:

With the exception of Mewtwo and Gyarados, most of my team consists of Dragon-type Pokémon. I pretty much stay in Victory Road to train.

SnowpointQuincy November 4th, 2013 5:08 PM

At Battle Mansion, Mandibuzz TROLLS me HARD! Roosting away all damage and Poison/Flattering my whole team! (even armed with Thunderbolt)

AllergicProductions November 4th, 2013 5:45 PM

I'm well into the postgame now, currently hunting for Mega Stones and the two fossils I don't yet have. After that, I think I'll go after the legendaries, starting with Articuno. It seems to be more cooperative than roamers in past games, not that I'm complaining.

FazedLucifer November 5th, 2013 9:14 PM

Dear diary,
Today I started my adventure. I was so excited to get my Froakie and my mystery gift Torchic. What I really wanted though was a Pichu so as I entered the Santalune Forest I had my mind set on catching two Pikachus, one male and one female. As I entered I was greeted by my rival. She offered to heal my pokemon as we journeyed through the forest. at about halfway through with no Pikachu encounters i was starting to lose hope but then out of no where the next four battles were Pikachu's in this order (Male-Caught,Female-Caught,Male-Defeated,Female-Defeated). I was so thrilled. I just Can't wait to get to the daycare.

Yours Truly,
Lucifer

Marionz November 6th, 2013 5:06 AM

left Yveltal and flew to Lumiose City to get my pokemons healed and resume my conquest for the 8th badge.. I don't care for Yveltal anymore haha !

She_Delphox November 6th, 2013 5:35 AM

I spend alot of time shiny hunting (PokeRadar for example) ^_^ Did some chain fishing the last few weeks and ended up having 7 shinies from this method as a result. I am also looking for more
friends to catch more Pokemon for my new team(s) in their Friend Safaris ;)

I'm currently catching new team Pokemon and training (around Victory Road and Pokemon Village) new team members such as Luxray, Nidoqueen, Charmeleon and Wartortle ^_^

May pick up some Looker jobs later on!

ShinyMagcargo November 6th, 2013 6:55 PM

Spent 3 days breeding the perfect Klefki. Here are his stats:
Level 1 (male)
IV's: 31/31/31/31/31/31
Nature: Bold
Ability: Prankster

-I have 12 Klefki with the following IV's if anyone is interested in trading for one:
31/31/31/31/31/x

mgalles18 November 6th, 2013 7:18 PM

Just tried out Wonder Trade for the first time just to check it out, ended up trading one of my spare Togepis and ended up getting a newly-bred Starly from Germany :D

Marionz November 6th, 2013 9:54 PM

I am currently breeding synchronize ralts now before catching yveltal :p

outer space November 7th, 2013 3:29 AM

i just started playing yesterday and now in route 6!! couldn't be more in love with this game <3 i regret taking bulbasaur instead of charmander from professor sycamore because i'm playing x and damn that mega charizard is mighty fine

Pyrax November 7th, 2013 9:11 AM

Arrived in Anistar and fought my rival, after which I went into the gym for a sneak peak; I must say, I love the Anistar Gym's design. The only other gyms to come close were Valerie's and Korrina's, both of whom are incidentally my favourite Kalos Leaders.
I plan on facing Olympia after defeating the gym trainers and exploring route 16.

Current Team:
  • Delphox "Marisa" lv.50
  • Venusaur "Frenzy" lv.49
  • Lucario "Anubis" lv.49
  • Florges "Hikari" lv.48
  • Heliolisk "Gil" lv.47
  • Noivern "Anju" lv.49

Also I finally got the Mysterious Souvenir after missing it the first time I arrived in Geosenge.

Marionz November 7th, 2013 9:31 PM

Only the Cloyster was EV trained though.

ZetaZaku November 8th, 2013 5:48 AM

This is probably the most fun Pokemon game I've ever played, and I've played all generations. So much to do. I only reached Day Care today, and I already have 26 hours in-game. I kinda want to enjoy the game as much as I can, as I might lose interest once I beat E4. So I'm training lots of Pokemon. Like, I have a whole box with reserve Pokemon I'm training. My story team is Kalos-only though. Current main team members are Fennekin, Espurr, Pancham, Fletchling, Froakie, Honedge and Litleo. I was using a Vivillon too, but I ended up trading it for a Japanese 2IV Ditto. I really wanted a Ditto, but didn't have any spare Vivillons, so I ended up trading my precious team member. Sad time.

I kinda feel bad for Wonder Trading ****mons, as I Wonder Traded a lot. Since I've just reached Day Care, I decided to breed some starters and Friend Safari-only Pokemon so I can release them via Wonder Trade. It sucks when you get a ****mon, but what can you do, make Wonder Trade post game only? They are useful in the story mode though. I don't really care if that Eevee has perfect IVs or not in story mode (of course me being so lucky, I got two physical Eevees via WT).

When I found out about shinies being more common, I was a bit happy, as I've NEVER in my life seen a shiny that isn't Gyarados. Of course, after so many wild fights, I still haven't seen a shiny. Thankfully I have a Japanese Ditto, so I should at least get a shiny from breeding, right? ;_;

Marionz November 9th, 2013 2:35 AM

ok just beaten the elite four and o boy I didn't expected HER to be the champion lol :p

oh well i got to be a champion thanks to my current team:

-Lucario
-Lapras
-Raichu
-Drifblim
-Chestnaught
-Farfetch'd

And the cutscene was superb I cried at the end haha! Don't worry though, manly tears were shed.

Atomic Pirate November 9th, 2013 7:31 AM

I was looking for a female Helioptile, and instead I found a shiny. Unfortunately, it was a shiny Hippopotas, which looks almost exactly the same as the normal one. Same goes with shiny Hippowdon.

ShinyMagcargo November 9th, 2013 10:20 AM

I just caught a shiny Dragalge! My first sucessful attempt at chain fishing. I'm so excited lol.

PlatinumDude November 10th, 2013 12:59 AM

Update time.

I evolved Honedge into Doublade, made it to Coumarine and beat Serena and Ramos. After beating Ramos, I thought to myself, "I should've evolved Combusken before coming in". Ah, well. Combusken still evolved after a bit of training. I also took the Good Rod out for a spin. I don't want to bother with chain fishing yet.

Current team:

Greninja, male, level 42

After beating Olympia (who wasn't difficult imo), I healed at the Pokémon Centre prior to heading to Lysandre Café. After clearing Lysandre Labs, I flew to Geosenge for the climax.
I wanted a challenge, so I left my Florges in the pc and didn't at all use Xerneas; limitations aside, I found Lysandre to be somewhere between "easy" and "somewhat challenging". After that, I continued on and eventually arrived in Snowbelle, after which I went over to the Pokémon Village for Wulfric.

I plan on challenging Wulfric tomorrow.

Guy November 10th, 2013 9:43 AM

Since catching a female Luxio with the ability Guts in the Friend Safari, I've been cycling between Route 7 and Camphrier Town breeding and hatching Shinx eggs until I can get a Jolly nature Shinx with Guts. I've also been playing with my female Adamant Mawile on Amie that I got over Wonder Trade. These are just two of the Pokémon amongst many that I want to EV train and use against the Battle Maison.

Taking a detour from the egg hatching this morning, I also caught a Timid Butterfree and a Jolly Pinsir w/ Moxie in the Friend Safari today. Not sure how I got so lucky, but I'm glad it happened! Now I'm considering EV training this Pinsir and finding its Mega Stone to use as another Battle Maison team member.

Dark-Ghost November 10th, 2013 3:43 PM

I hatched a SHINY FENNIKEN! YAAAAAAAY! TOOK ME 5.5 BOXES!

encas November 11th, 2013 6:19 AM

Right now, I'm outside of Terminus Cave, training my new party. I found that my game was getting too easy around the sixth badge, so I decided to switch my party up.

Roster:

Clara the Pinsir (Jolly female, Lv. 33)

Talia the Murkrow (Lonely female, Lv. 27)

Neon the Lanturn (shiny Modest female, Lv. 30)

Matteo the Meowstic (Timid male, Lv. 26)

Micah the Aromatisse (Modest male, Lv. 26)

Robb the Venusaur (Bold male, Lv. 51)

Marionz November 11th, 2013 7:44 AM

currently capturing boxes of ditto... need to get 5v ditto badly T_T

icelovebunnies9 November 11th, 2013 9:55 AM

I started my game a long while ago, and right now I'm in Anistar City preparing to fight my rival. I'm also using Wonder Trade and GTS to trade Pokemon I no longer need. My team is:
Lucario Lv. 53
Roserade Lv. 53
Flygon Lv. 54
Azumarill Lv. 54
Aurorus Lv. 54
Delphox Lv. 56

I think I should stop catching Pokemon. XD My Pokemon level up too fast. Well, that's also partly because of Pokemon Amie.

EDIT: Right now, I beat Olympia in Anistar City, and went through Lysandre Labs and what not. I also caught Xerneas with my first Quick Ball. XD I knew its catch rate was the same Palkia and such, but I didn't expect it to be that easy. At the moment, I'm fighting Lysandre and owning him like usual.

Pyrax November 12th, 2013 1:10 AM

Went through Snowbelle Gym in one go, and even without healing, Wulfric was quite easy (says the guy with a Delphox and Lucario). I then headed east for the Victory Road, after which I saved at the League and went to Terminus Cave with the intention of clearing it and raising the levels of my more underleveled members.

Current Team:

Delphox "Marisa" lv.62
Venusaur "Frenzy" lv.62
Lucario "Anubis" lv.62
Florges "Hikari" lv.60
Heliolisk "Gil" lv.60
Noivern "Anju" lv.60

This gen's Victory Road is by far my favourite.

Naxus_Darkstar November 12th, 2013 7:27 AM

Hatched a 31/31/31/31/31/31 modest larvesta! It had flame body ;_; two eggs later I got the one I wanted though

Larvesta, modest nature, female, w/ swarm
31/x/31/31/31/31

My perfect battle maison team only needs Smeargle now. Soon the Lansat and starf berries will be mine.

Sarcastasaurus November 12th, 2013 1:21 PM

Just after defeating Korrina and I got a Charmander in Wonder Trade! ^^ I plan on playing for a while longer, and hopefully I'll get to the next gym before I call it a night.

Syltti November 13th, 2013 3:20 PM

Hello, everyone~ I'm finally able to join in on the Kalos experience~ Got my 3DS XL, Pokemon X, and Pokemon Y last night, and got some progress made before work today.

Alright, to start things off, I'd just like to say that this game so far has blown me away. So much 3D. So much good music. ...SITTING! It's all just omgwtfishappeninghnnnnggg. So, I start the game in Vaniville Town. Have to say it's pretty small, but really beautiful. I meet my new friends, and pick Fennekin as my starter cause... cute fox. Shauna challenges me to a battle and, since Fennekin already had Ember... easy. The rival battle animation was a really nice touch, too!

I eventually catch a Fletchling, then a Bunnelby, and practically faceroll the first Gym. Oh, by the way. ...ROLLER SKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATES!!! I had to stop here for work, so this entry is rather short. I left off trying to get a female Combee, only to get a Timid one. Used Wonder Trade for lulz and got a Lv. 9 Furfrou.

Here's a tip from another trainer, a drifter in Kalos

You've seen the supposed ghost in Lumiose, yeah? Go to Lumiose station, read the back of the second board.

Creepypasta

Syltti November 14th, 2013 2:00 PM

Hello, everyone~ Been nearly 24 hours since my first entry and I figured now would be a good time to make another while taking a break. Quite a bit has happened. Sadly, the constant excitement has caused me to forget most of what happened. xD But to summarize things:

  1. From my initial entry's party (Fennekin, Fletchling, Bunnelby), I have expanded my team a little. I now have Espurr (Female - Lv. 24), Skiddo (Female - Lv. 23), Floette (Female - Lv. 25), Empress, the Vespiquen (Female - Lv. 26), Elisa, the Ralts (Female - Lv. 10), Yayoi, the Absol (Female - Lv. 16), Mienfoo (Female - Lv. 15), Ami, the Mawile (Female - Lv. 17), Amaura (Male (sadly) - Lv. 20), Charmander (won't be used for a very long time), Fletchinder (Female - Lv. 26), Braxien (Male - Lv. 27), plus a few Pokemon from Wonder trades.
  2. Currently have 2 Badges.
  3. Received the Dowsing Rods and Bicycle.
  4. Changed Eru's hairstyle slightly and changed the color to Black. She's currently using Blue contacts.
  5. Completed the Super Training tutorial.
I'm mad at myself for forgetting every detail, as I miss my informative travel log entries that ere done for White/White 2. I'll try better next time~

I did some sightseeing in Lumiose and beat Clemont. I still don't know my way around Lumiose, but I'm slowly getting used to it. I also took a break from the main storyline to breed a Gooey Goomy that I got from Wonder Trade. I succeeded in getting a Quiet one with good IVs all round.

Syltti November 16th, 2013 3:20 AM

Good morning, everyone~ Got a bit of a hefty update here. From where my last update left off (Cyllage City), I explored Route 10 a bit, to find Team Flare up to no good again. Taking those grunts out took no trouble at all. Wasn't a whole lot to do in Geosenge Town, but Korrina showed up and challenged me. Since I have both Fairies and a Fire type on my team, those Lucario went down in seconds.

Reflection Cave. The bane of my existence. All. Those. Wobbuffet. And there was this Blackbelt guy in there who was all, "BATTLE!" and proceeded to wrecking my team in their faces with a Lv. 30 Sawk. ...Hate him. Anyway, managed to make it out of the cave alive, and got to Shalour City. Korrina's gym was fun, and the battle even more so. After beating her, she wanted me to go to the Tower of Mastery to challenge her again. Lucario and I made short work of Korrina and her Lucario with MEGA... EVOLUSHUUN! I didn't really explore Route 12 much, and need to go do that today after work. Went to Coumarine City and wrecked Calem, again. Went through the Gym leveling up my Fletchinder (who got left behind at Lv. 26), and defeated Ramos. Wasn't that difficult a fight, considering Braixen evolved and got dat Mustical Fire. Hit Route 13 and got ambushed by tons of Trapinch and Gible. Eventually made it to the power plant where Team Flare was up to their usual crap. Found that that Flare Admin was a weirdo, and that their scientist was slightly interesting.

After all that, I made it back to Lumiose City to see the Prism Tower light up. Good stuff. Then I went around the city doing stuff so I could finally enter Boutique Couture. Got in, bought some of the cheaper stuff, now I have to work on becoming more stylish so those prices drop. Also got into a random battle with an acquaintance. Lost miserably. First loss of my Gen 6 career. xD

icelovebunnies9 November 16th, 2013 9:37 AM

All righty, a little update from my previous post. ^^

I finished all of that Team Flare business and I headed toward Snowbelle City. During my travel to the city, I fought Shauna, Trevor, and Tierno. After all that, I went to Snowbelle City. I did a bit of exploring, finding as many items as possible. Afterwards, I travelled into the Winding Woods to find Wulfric in the Pokemon Village. Right now, I'm in Winding Woods finding random items. XD

My team:
Aurorus Lv.61
Flygon Lv.61
Azumarill Lv.61
Lucario Lv.62
Roserade Lv.63
Delphox Lv.64

I didn't really feel like including specifics in my team. XD

Pyrax November 16th, 2013 2:26 PM

I defeated the elite four (I actually did so a few days ago but I kept forgetting to post oops).

Wilkstrom
Only the knight's Aegislash gave me trouble. In the end it took out the two pokémon I had planned on using against him, so it was rather fortunate my third team member (just barely, due to a critical) managed to defeat it.

Drasna
My Fairy-type was beaten from a Critical from her Noivern, which my own Noivern defeated. I wanted a challenge, so I didn't revive Florges and just continued the battle with Noivern.

Siebold
Wasn't that difficult, managed to beat the chef without losing too many team members.

Malva
I had to be careful with her, as my only Water and Ground attacks (Surf and Earthquake respectively) were on my Heliolisk and Venusaur respectively.

Diantha
A straightforward Champion. She was rather disappointing, as her only pokémon that gave me trouble was her Mega Gardevoir. It's a shame really, since her design has an interesting contrast to Cynthia, but unlike Cynthia, she wasn't that difficult; they really should've gone with a better selection than a team that's half weak to steel.

I wasn't pleased with the fact that they've kept the "four pokémon per elite four" thing from last generation, they should really return to 5 pokémon-or hell, just give the elite four a full team of six right off the bat.

icelovebunnies9 November 16th, 2013 10:46 PM

Okay dokey, I just went through Victory Road and I'm prepared to kick some more butt! :D My team is in the high 60's-low 70's at the moment. I think they're strong enough to beat the Elite Four and the Champion. Honestly, I don't know if they are, but I'll try and see what happens! :D

Slaying Moon November 17th, 2013 9:06 AM

After all the trouble it gave me in tracking it down over and over again, I finally caught Zapdos, and that ends the Legendary hunt for me, until more are released, and I've STILL not used my Master Ball. Also, I put my original Charizard (without the stone of course) into the Wonder Trade, because I bred a male Garchomp with her to get a Charmander capable of utilising Dragon Rush. That's right, my level 78 Charizard is probably being used by someone else right now.

fireflystorm November 17th, 2013 10:07 AM

I was on the hunt. This morning, at approximately 10AM, I ran into Articuno whilst trying to hatch Masuda Method Magikarps. I had almost forgotten that the legendary existed in this game.. of course, by now my team's levels have far surpassed the measly level 70 bird, but my thought was obvious: use Articuno to barter for Zapdos/Moltres, so I'll have the data for each.
So, packing up my team of a single Talonflame and five Magikarps, I took to the streets in search of Articuno. I figure I've run into it at least 7 times now, so a few more and it'd be reduced to the Sea Spirit's Den where I could capture it. I headed through to Anistar, and that's when I remembered my little baby Chespin. I had left him with an old man... after losing his wife he was lonely and wanted a baby pokemon, and it just so happened I had been trading starters. I had wanted to take it back, initially, but I couldn't bera it. He seemed so happy, and my Chespin wasn't going anywhere... I could come back any time.
So, it's been a week or two since I left Chespin with the man, so I decide to see if they're still as happy as they were before. And, well... There's a pokeball, sitting on the floor. And a note... So I pick up the note and read it, and...
Spoiler:
He's dead. He said my Chespin had him smiling till the very end, but now he's gone, and left me my little Chespin and a Comet Shard in return for my favor.
It's a really upsetting advent. I don't know what to do with little Chespin, because I just don't have the heart to trade him off now. He was special to that old man. How could GameFreak do this to me?!

Well, I finished the game and beat the Elite Four and the Champion. They weren't too hard for me, but it'd be really annoying when they're heal their Pokemon.

Right now, I'm just exploring Kiloude City and the Friend Safari. ^^

Hell, everyone~ I've finally cleared Pokemon Y~ I kinda forgot to keep up with my journal entries, though. :p Have to say that X and Y are definitely the most enjoyable games I've played so far. Anyway, on to the update!

Since my last update was after the fourth Gym, there's simply too much info to post, so I'll skip to the important stuff then my battles in the Pokemon League.

Lumious City Gym - Had no real strategy, as my team has no Ground-type Pokemon or moves. Was pretty much cake, though.

Laverre City Gym - Easily my most favorite Gym and Gym Leader. I had/have no Poison-type Pokemon or moves, and Ami hadn't learned Iron Head until much later, but this Gym was relatively easy.

Anistar City Gym - Basically a Yayoi/Meowstic sweep. Olympia stood no chance~

Snowbelle City Gym - A Yayoi and Ami sweep. Amy had Iron Head at this point so.. yeah. Avalugg got wrecked in the face~

Lack of information much, I know. But, oh well. xD Can't exactly remember how those battles went.

Elite Four

  • Full Restores: x50
  • Revives: x35
  • Max Revives: x5

-Wikstrom-

Started off with the Ironwork Chamber. ...Probopass. All. My. Hate. Anyway, I struggled a bit at the start of this battle, and managed to left Klefki setup a layer of Spikes. Promptly took it out with Delphox's Flamethrower. Then this damn Probopass comes in. I swear to all mighty Mawile, I HATE Probopass. I started by having Meowstic Thunderbolt it, hoping for the paralysis that never came. I found that Meowstic could tank Flash Cannon, but Power Gem did more damage. Of course, it didn't matter. A single crit dropped Meowstic. I went in to Florges to tank and deal damage with Magical Leaf, only to crit Probopass out of the battle. Scizor was next, Delphox took it out in one hit with Flamethrower. Aegislash tried to King's Shield me and failed, one Flamethrower and it was out.

-Drasna-

Took on the Dragon Chamber next. Started the battle off with Florges, expecting to sweep. Out came Dragalge. Fearing a Poison move, I still went for a Moonblast, and lowered Dragalge's Sp. Atk right off the bat. Switched out, predicting another Sludge Bomb and blocked it with Ami. Took it down the next turn. Elisa swept Altaria, Druddigon, and Noivern like they were nothing.

-Siebold-

Was planning an Elisa Calm Mind+Magical Leaf sweep. Didn't happen. Clawitzer's Water Pulse was tanked until that damn crit happened. Switched out to Florges for dat tank+damage with Magical Leaf. Barbaracle was next. Elisa came back for a revenge kill and one shot with Magical Leaf. Gyarados got one-shot by Meowstic's Thunderbolt. Starmie got two-shot by Elisa's Magical Leaf followed by Calm Mind+Magical Leaf.

-Malva-

Had only two strategies for this battle. #1) Set up a Swords Dance with Yayoi and sweep errythang. #2) Set up two or three Calm Minds with Delphox and sweep errythang. Plan #1 failed right off the bat due to Yayoi getting crit'd. Delphox came in, set up three Calm Minds (but lost 1 stage of Sp. Atk due to Noble Roar), and Psychic'd Pyroar, Torkoal, and Chandelure into oblivion. Talonflame two-shot Delphox with two Brave Birds. At this point, I had no choice but to let Talonflame knock out my Pokemon so it could take recoil damage. I brought back Yayoi for dat revenge Sucker Punch and took Talonflame out after it had lost half it's HP.

-Champion Diantha-

Started this battle off with Yayoi. No idea why. Led off with Psycho Cut, dropped Hawlucha's HP into the red forcing Diantha to heal next turn. Took that chance to Psycho Cut again. One-shot. Tyrantrum was next, and I believe I let Elisa Dazzling Gleam it. Aurorus was next, and I let Ami handle it. Started off with Power-Up Punch just for a small attack boost, and Aurorus used Reflect. Didn't help. Iron Head to the chest took it out. Gougeist was a bit of a pain. Reflect kept me from two-shotting it, and it knew Phantom Force (which I learned was a two-turn move). After seeing Ami lost nearly half her HP from one of those, I had to set up an Iron Defense then heal. Reflect eventually wore off, and I took Gougeist out with an Iron Head. I switched out for Goodra, letting Florges two-shot it with Moonblast. Then came Mega Gardevoir. Iron Head. One-shot. i lul'd.

All in all, the E4 and Champion weren't as easy as people were making them out to be for me. Then again, my team consisted of 1 Dark, 1 Fire, 3 Fairies, 3 Psychics, and 1 Steel. But, even with that, I had coverage for Water, Flying, Dark, Fairy, Rock, Ground, Ghost, Psychic, Fighting, Bug, Grass, Ice, Steel, Normal, and Dragon. Good stuff, though. Good stuff.

~Items Used~
  • Hyper Potions: 80 -> 71
  • Full Restores: 50 -> 48
  • Revives: 35 -> 29
  • Max Revives: 5 -> 4
After this, I got my Chespin from Shauna, got my Absolite from Calem, got my Gardevoirite from Diantha, and found my Mawalite, so that's all the Mega Stones I care about~ (Also got Aggronite for no reason). I'm now back on that clothe-hunt, and getting ready to breed (need a perfect Ditto).

  • Trainer Name - Eru
  • Adventure Started - 11/12/2013
  • Hall of Fame Debut - 11/16/2013
  • Total Playtime - 18:51 -> 35:27

That's all for now, folks~

Until next time~

Update time.

I made it to Dendemille. Before that, I beat Valerie and cleared Team Flare out of the Poke Ball Factory. Even though Serena's Meowstic didn't help much against Celosia and Bryony, double battle instinct told me not to just use Greninja's Surf to KO their Pokemon and I had to rely on Water Shuriken as a STAB move. Of course, Greninja sustained a Spark and Thunder Fang from Manectric in the process.

I usually use various combinations of these mons. I ended up leveling up Greninja and Pangoro a lot in Lumiose City, so they'll probably take a break for a while.

I've just finished the fifth gym, and I really hated it. It was such a pain talking with each trainer there. The animation for the elevator made it way too long, so I ended up skipping battles and just answering right. And I always fight all trainers at gyms.

So. Much. Breeding.

But it's fun so I can't complain. I only wish our internet was better so I didn't have to do all my online stuff on the 3DS at 6am when I'm eating breakfast. Oh well. I was at my cousin's house yesterday and took advantage of their internet to wonder trade away an entire box of Chespins and some Dratini's. I got some really cool stuff, including a 4 IV Squirtle. :D

PlatinumDude November 24th, 2013 9:33 AM

I evolved Doublade into Aegislash, went through the Frost Cavern and beat Team Flare there. I seriously hated the ice puzzles more than those of past games because I had to slide diagonally at some places. I had to look up a walkthrough on YouTube to get the items. I beat Olympia as well. At this point, I feel that Greninja may be a bit overleveled, but as per Pokemon gaming tradition, I'm not getting rid of it for the sake of increasing difficulty. I also found a shiny Wingull when I was hunting for a good IVed Modest Mareep.

I decided to start a new file on my copy of X, and I'm not very far. I just unlocked the Day Care, and I am trying to hatch the last of my Protean Kecleon eggs.

Team Roster:

Max the Quilladin (Impish male, Lv. 23)

Rico the Mothim (Timid, Lv. 23)

Carol the Charmeleon (Adamant female, Lv. 22)

icelovebunnies9 November 25th, 2013 7:12 PM

Alrighty, I decided to go Legendary catching, so I went and caught Mewtwo and Zygarde. ^^ Mewtwo actually was really easy for me, and it didn't take really long. I caught it with my 3rd Dusk Ball (4th if you count the Quick Ball in the beginning) with low health and paralysis. Luckily it didn't use Recover that much. Zygarde took a little bit longer, but overall didn't take long either. I caught it with my 6th Dusk Ball (7th if you count the Quick Ball in the beginning). Honestly I expected to waste lots of time catching these guys. XD

Now...time to find Zapdos...XD

Ramsie November 26th, 2013 10:10 AM

I just got the game and have been loving it so far! After saving the world yesterday, I decided I would take a short break from the badge quest and try out some new features I hadn't previously used. I wonder traded a few times until I got a Froakie, a pokemon I need to complete the dex. Currently training him on Route 4 while looking for a Ralts.

icelovebunnies9 November 26th, 2013 10:19 AM

Well, the only important thing that happened to me so far was the fact that I caught Zapdos. It took longer than Zygarde and Mewtwo, but it didn't take long long as in half an hour. It probably took...eh...10 minutes or so, maybe a bit less. I also caught a shiny Phantump in a Friend Safari, which is pretty cool. Last thing, I'm trying to get a shiny Munchlax through Masuda Method. ^^

Gardevoir the Dragon Slayer November 26th, 2013 1:22 PM

With the exception of all the legendary pokemon just completed all three kalos dexs, off to get Zygarde, Zapdos and Mewtwo now.

EDIT: Got Zygarde, Zapdos and Mewtwonow Job Done :D

The time slowly came for me to fight Elite Four, after 120 hours of playing. Surprisingly, they were really really easy. I was way underleveled for the battles to be that easy. The only painful mons were Gyarados because he maxed out via DD and Goodra. Mega Gardevoir went down with one Avalanche from my Avalugg.

My team was:
Barbeice the Avalugg, Lv. 54, Rash, Icicle Plate
Earthquake, Frost Breath, Avalanche, Ice Fang

Jotaro the Pangoro, Lv. 58, Jolly, Black Belt
Shadow Claw, Crunch, Brick Break, Earthquake

Gipsy the Delphox, Lv. 58, Timid, Odd Incense

bought a Nintendo 3DS and PKMN X yesterday, and I'm loving my adventure so far. :3
Right now, I'm on Route 5, and I stayed here longer than I should because I got a little distracted by Wonder Trade. xD
It was my first time trying this thing out, and I got a Protein Froakie and an Eevee on my first ten tries. :3

And oh, while I was inside that first forest, forgot the name, but my very first Pikachu encounter, which I also caught, has a Light Ball. :3
Squee~

I'm just taking my time with this game, and turned off the Exp. Share. :3
Whoever suggested the hoard battles is PURE EVIL! >:[
And oh, I really wish there's a way to turn off the skates. -,-

Lucifer November 30th, 2013 10:16 PM

Just received a 3DS with Pokemon X tonight for my birthday and thus far very much enjoying it.
Begun with Fennekin, female, name Tamyln. Gentle Nature.
It was a difficult choice between it and Froakie, all of the starters' final evolutions have very unique type combos for once but in the early generations I tended to mindlessly begin with the water starter. The grass starter had an unattractive final evolution as did that of fennekin however I had been drawn to Fennekin from the first time I saw an image of it and the fire/psychic combo of the final evolution won out.

Caught:
Scatterbug, name Fate, serious nature.
Panpour, male, name RainofTears (later to be renamed Al). Bold nature.
Pikachu, female, name Stormy. Timid Nature
Litleo, female, name Vitani. Careful nature.
Fletchling, male, name Raptor. Impish nature.

I believe my pikachu might be special as she has a slit in her tail, something I have not seen in another pikachu yet.

I'm training now in Santalune city for the first gym.

OffRoadSP December 1st, 2013 9:54 AM

I'm finally getting around to posting these. I'm keeping it in the same format that I did for the Unova Travel Journal, hope no one minds. Though there's so many Pokemon to see and catch, it took me a while to fill in all the 'Dex entries. And so, without further ado...

Pokémon Y (& X) Journal

November 3, 2013

On the edge of the horizon, I saw it: the Kalos Region! According to Professor Juniper, I should seek out a professor by the name of Augustine Sycamore. He’s the one who helps new trainers start their Pokémon journey, and gives them their starter Pokémon. According to trainers on the ship, his lab is in a huge city called Lumiose City, and is at the heart of the Kalos Region.

I disembarked the ship, and saw a line of buses all headed towards different areas of Kalos. I got on one of the buses, but in my haste, I chose the wrong one! I ended up reaching a small place in the south of Kalos called Vaniville Town. Thankfully, a woman who was grooming her Rhyhorn saw how lost I looked, and was kind enough to hand me a map of the region.

“If you’re a Pokémon trainer, why not stop in Aquacorde Town?” The kind woman advised. “My son Calem and some of his friends are starting their Pokémon journey, and they are supposed to receive their first Pokémon from one of Professor Sycamore’s messengers.”

“Thank you very much, ma’am,” I said as I bowed. I looked down at the map.

The woman grinned. “Aquacorde Town is just a short distance north of here. Just follow the Vaniville Pathway once you leave the town’s gates, and you’ll run right into it.”

I followed her direction, and stepped out onto the path. Route 1 of a new region! As I walked, I became disappointed, as there does not seem to be any wild Pokémon on the route. Then I entered Aquacorde Town.

Aquacorde Town was bigger than Vaniville Town. There was a big fountain in the middle of the town square. Outside a nearby café, I overheard some kids talking.

“Where’s Calem?” Asked one of the girls. “I want to get my starter Pokémon!”

Since this seemed to be the group of friends Calem’s mom was talking about, I decided to introduce myself. I told them my name was Steve and that I’ve been a Pokémon trainer for 15 years or so, and that I’ve travelled to all kinds of regions from Kanto to Unova. The big guy started calling me Steve-o, and it seemed to catch on among the group. They introduced themselves to me as Tierno, Trevor, Serena, and Shauna. Serena and Shauna were the ones starting their journey. Tierno had three Pokéballs given to him by Professor Sycamore, and he showed them to the pair of girls who had to choose from them.

Kalos is no different; like the other regions, a new trainer gets to choose between a grass-type, fire-type, and water-type. In this case, their names are Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie, respectively. Shauna decided on Froakie, while Serena decided on Fennekin. Then, Trevor handed each of them a Pokédex, also bestowed to him by the professor. Eager to get started, Serena rushed off to begin searching for more Pokémon!

“Aw, but I wanted to battle!” cried Shauna.

“I’ll have a battle with you,” I said, then realized something. “Or I would, but I don’t have a Pokémon.”

“That’s ok, Steve-o, you can borrow this one!” Tierno gave me the remaining Pokéball. “This one will go to Calem when he gets here, but you can use it for now.”

“Yeah? Awesome!” I exclaimed. “Ok, Chespin, I choose you!”

Chespin took the field opposite Shauna’s Froakie. I scanned them with my Pokédex from Unova.

“No data.”

“Professor Sycamore gave me an extra Pokédex,” Trevor chimed in. “I don’t think he’d mind if I gave it to you.”

“Wow, thanks, Trevor!” I gratefully took the Pokédex, and scanned Chespin and Froakie again.

“Chespin, the Spiky Nut Pokémon. Chespin have soft quills on their heads. When they flex them, the points become so hard and sharp that they can pierce rock. They also have a thick shell of wood covering their heads and backs that can even take a direct hit from truck without fazing them.”

“Froakie, the Bubble Frog Pokémon. Froakie protect their skin by covering their bodies in delicate bubbles. These bubbles reduce the damage they would otherwise take when attacked. Beneath their happy-go-lucky air, they keep a watchful eye on their surroundings.”

1. Chespin

After a short battle that I obviously won, I returned Chespin to Tierno. Since I have some Pokéballs with me, I decided I should go out and catch some Pokémon of my own

I crossed a bridge leading out of town, and stepped foot on a route called the Avance Trail according to the map. Unlike the previous route, this route had all kinds of wild Pokémon living among the trees and grass! The first Pokémon I came across was very familiar to me. So there are Pidgey here in Kalos! I didn’t waste any time catching my first Pokémon in Kalos!

“Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. Pidgey are a common sight in forests and woods. They flap their wings at ground level to kick up blinding sand. Though they are normally docile, they can ferociously strike back if disturbed.”

2. Pidgey

Not far away, I saw Serena demonstrating to Shauna how to properly catch a Pokémon. Except… who are those Pokémon? She sent out some kind of flying-type Pokémon to try to catch what looks like a normal-type Pokémon.

“Bunnelby, the Digging Pokémon. Bunnelby have ears like shovels. They use these large ears to dig burrows. Digging holes strengthens their ears so much that they can sever thick roots effortlessly.”

“Fletchling, the Tiny Robin Pokémon. Fletchling send signals to one another with beautiful chirps and tail-feather movements. Despite the beauty of their lilting voices, they are merciless to intruders that enter their territory.”

Awesome, new Pokémon I’ve never seen before! After exploring the route some more, I found another familiar Pokémon, the little bug-type Caterpie! Then, I actually caught the same two Pokémon Serena was demonstrating capturing techniques with myself. So, although Pidgey was my first catch, Bunnelby was the first new Pokémon I caught in Kalos.

“Caterpie, the Worm Pokémon. Caterpie releases a horrible stench from their antennae on their heads to drive away enemies. Their feet have suction cups designed to stick to any surface. They tenaciously climb trees to forage.”

3. Caterpie

4. Bunnelby

5. Fletchling

Next up I saw a Zigzagoon, but wasn’t able to catch it. It was neat seeing the little normal-type Pokémon that I haven’t seen since my days in Hoenn.

“Zigzagoon, the Tiny Raccoon Pokémon. Zigzagoon have abundant curiosity. They show an interest in everything, so they walk in a zigzag fashion. They’re good at finding items in the grass and even in the ground.”

Then I discovered yet another new Pokémon, a bug-type! It must be this region’s equivalent of Caterpie or Weedle.

“Scatterbug, the Scatterdust Pokémon. Scatterbug can live in any region or climate due to the powder that covers their backs that regulate their temperature. When under attack from bird Pokémon, they spew a poisonous black powder that causes paralysis on contact.”

6. Scatterbug

Not long after that, I did succeed in catching a Zigzagoon, and added it to the team.

7. Zigzagoon

Six Pokémon already! Since I had a full team, I figured I could proceed along the route, which lead into a dark forest called Santalune Forest.

Inside Santalune Forest, I saw more Fletchling and Caterpie, but there were also some wild Metapod among the trees as well.

“Metapod, the Cocoon Pokémon, and the evolved form of Caterpie. Metapod are vulnerable to attack while their shell is soft, exposing their weak and tender bodies. They quietly endure hardships while awaiting evolution.”

I travelled deeper into the woods, and found another familiar sight. A Pansage! I couldn’t resist catching it.

“Pansage, the Grass Monkey Pokémon. Pansage are good at finding berries and will gather them from all over. They share the leaves on their heads with weary-looking Pokémon. These leaves are known to relieve stress.”

8. Pansage

Very soon after that, I found a Panpour! So, Santalune Forest must be very similar to the Pinwheel Forest in the Unova Region. I caught the Panpour, and I bet I’ll eventually find the third of the elemental-monkey trio as well if I keep searching.

“Panpour, the Spray Pokémon. Panpour have water stored inside the tufts on their heads, and it is full of nutrients. They water plants with it using their tails, and plants that receive this water grow large.”

9. Panpour

There were also a few trainers in the forest looking to battle. One had a cute little Pikachu! Kalos has so many familiar Pokémon!

“Pikachu, the Mouse Pokémon. Pikachu have small electric sacs on both their cheeks. If threatened, they loose electric charges from the sacs. They raise their tail to check their surroundings, and sometimes are struck by lightning in this pose.”

Another trainer I battled used a Weedle.

“Weedle, the Hairy Bug Pokémon. Weedle are often found in forests and grasslands. They have a sharp, toxic barb of around two inches on top of their heads. These poison stingers are very powerful. Their bright-colored bodies are intended to warn off their enemies.”

My Pokémon were tired, so I wanted to press on so I could get them to a Pokémon Center. Not to mention, I can’t use Pansage or Panpour unless I can store some of my other Pokémon. So I made my way to the other end of the forest, which exited onto a route called Ouvert Way.

Along Ouvert Way, I indulged a few more trainer battles with some kids. One of them had an Azurill!

“Azurill, the Polka Dot Pokémon. Azurill live by water. They move quickly on land by bouncing on their big tails. They swing these nutrient-filled tails around to fight opponents that are bigger than them.”

Then I finally reached Santalune City, hurried to the Pokémon Center, and rested my Pokémon for the evening. Whew! That was some first day in Kalos!

Psywing December 3rd, 2013 12:14 AM

Hey, everyone. So I just started playing a few days ago and I am loving it! I started off by resetting for a female Froakie and started my journey.
My team was:
Froakie evolved intoFrogadier
Bulbasaur evolved into Ivysaur
Fletchling evolved into Fletchinder
Pikachu
Pancham (love this guy)
Event Torchic evolved into Combusken.

When I got to the Pokemon Day Care I immediately went searching for a Japanese Ditto. Thanks to a kind member of a forum community I got one. Then bred a Froakie. I traded that for a Fennekin, bred the Fennekin to get another and traded for a Chespin. I also sent out some on the Wonder Trade. I started leveling up Chespin and Fennekin to reach the others in front of the Daycare. Then, something amazing happened! I came across a Shiny Flabebe(Yellow Flower Version)! Man I was psyched! So I continued leveling.
Now my team is:
Frogadier
Quilladin
Braixen
Fletchinder
Pikachu
Pancham
All of them around lvl 16-19. Think I played around enough with the Day Care, now to continue my journey. Thanks for reading.

Pokémon X Entry December 3rd, 2013

I'm starting my day in Vaniville Town, when my mom's Fletchling started to peck me to wake me up, so I'm waking up and start to dress up. So I'm going downstairs, and my mom says that we just moved, and my neighbors are waiting for me. On outside, my neighbors are asking me to go to Aquacorde Town, and so I went through the Route 1, and surprisingly, I see no grass areas as of yet. Oh, and I find out that I can run already in fact that I have Running Shoes, so here I go. In Aquacorde Town, I meet 2 other friends, and we're discussing in a cafe. We're discussing about which nickname must they call for me. My friends suggest to call me for S-Meister, Big S, or Lil' S, but I want them to call me Windy instead. After that, I got the chance to chose my Pokémon, so I've decided that I'm starting with my Fenny the Fennekin. After more discussion, I'm getting a letter from Prof. Sycamore to send to my mom at home. But before that, one of my friend, Shauna, wants to challenge me. It's undoubtedly my first win, since she's using Chespin, and after that, I'm heading home.

My mom noticed that I'm finally becoming a Pokémon Trainer, and began preparing my clothes and stuff, and told me to go for the brake, and take care. Rhyhorn in my house wants to see me off as well. So I'm starting to check in Route 2, and I encountered Pidgey, for the first time, and I make my first critical hit as well. And when I'm going further, Serena teaches me how to catch Pokémon, and I'm given 10 Pokéballs as well. So I began my catching spree with Scatterbug, Bunnelby, Zigzagoon, Weedle and Fletchling, before going off to Santalune Forest. Before entering it, I was challenged by Youngster Austin, and I managed to won with my Fenny. And in there, Shauna follow me when I'm there. Too bad that there are no wild double battles yet, but maybe it's kinda too much for the start lol

One of the notable catch for me is a female Pikachu which I nickname Pikaria. And after getting through the forest, we're heading to Santalune City, where I rest at Pokémon Center and changed clothes.

That's it for now, and currently my teams are as follows:

Fenny the male Fennekin, Level 13
Bunnera the male Bunnelby, Level 4
Talon the male Fletchling, Level 8
Zigza the female Zigzagoon, Level 5
Spear the male Weedle, Level 3
Pikaria the female Pikachu, Level 3

Updating before I forget again.

I beat Wulfric and I'm on my way to the Pokemon League. Before that, I explored some closed-off areas with Waterfall and caught an Azumarill for breeding purposes, as well as a Diggersby. And on a random note, but Trevenant hordes seem to slow down the frame rate, but it picks up as more members of the horde get KOed.

Why..WHY!?I beg thou Arceus to spare me for the moment I cease to perish amongst this planet. O' cursed ye who bringeth thou murder into my soul. For my last pokemon, deemed by the traitorous thunder beast that sparked a fire to my heart.

Edit: Finally beat the League! AZ reuniting with Floette was one of the saddest things I've ever seen in a Pokemon game. I was about to cry when this happened.

Sarcastasaurus December 8th, 2013 8:58 AM

Finally manaaged to hatch not one, but two adamant Dratinis. One male and one female! (Screeches internally) :D I'm going to hatch a few eggs with this pair in the hopes that I'll get another 5 IV, then I'll take a short break from breeding for a Pokedex filling quest, before switching over to IV breeding another Pokemon. Haven't quite decided which one yet though..

Pokémon X Entry December 12nd, 2013

Lots of things happpened ever since I've been in Santalune City. I managed to beat Viola and get my first badge, and I won against Grant as well. As I arrive at Shalour City, Serena and I want to battle, to get the Mega Ring that is vital to use Mega Evolution. I won the match, and Korrina, one of the Mega Evolution user, wants me to battle her as Gym Leader, and here I got my third badge. Her Lucario wanted to join me as well, and we have an another memorable battle there. Then, I started to beat Ramos, Clemont, Valerie, and even Olympia that I only have one badge left to go!

At this point, I receive some call from Lysandre, and after seeing it, Serena which was about to rematch against me after getting the badge, told me that I have to stop him. I managed to go to the cafe where it turns out to be one of Team Flare's base. I learned that Team Flare want to activate some sort of final weapon, and despite of trying to deactivate it, one of the scientist of the Team Flare activates it, which is in Geosenge Town. So I decided to search for their hideout, and inside of it, I find a Legendary Pokemon, named Xerneas. Luckily my Spear (the Beedrill) can False Swipe it that I can catch it with a single Ultra Ball. Lysandre is not having enough that he want to battle me, and Xerneas decided to step up. Xerneas was down when battling against his Mega Gyarados, but my Fenny (Delphox) can backup it. I finally won, but as Lysandre prepares to use the weapon, I and my friends decided to run away as the weapon backfires.

Professor Sycamore says that he want to meet me, and he want some rematch, and so does my friends Tierno, Shauna and Trevor. So I'm heading to the final city before I go to Pokemon League, Snowbelle City. Finally I'm able to beat Wulfric the Gym Leader, as I'm set to challenge the Elite Four soon.

My teams are as follows:

Fenny the male Delphox, Level 100
Yancy (formerly Zigza, I rename her) the female Linoone, Level 85
Talon the male Talonflame, Level 84
Spear the male Beedrill, Level 73
Xerneas, Level 54
X-Seed the male Venusaur, Level 68

KanonMira December 18th, 2013 8:34 AM

Okay, this might be a bit long, and slightly more of a fanfic, but I was trying to catch up a bit with what has already happened. now that I have the rest of my journals will be shorter.

My character is a boy named Kanon he is much older then the rest of the gang, even though he is supposedly meant to be 13 or 14 something like that my character is around the 16 to 17 age. Kanon has a habit of teasing girls, he also doesn't like change. As when things change he believes something bad will follow.
He often keep to himself and, thinks a lot. Kanon finds it hard to make friends, and sometimes doesn't trust the friends he does have. Such as Serena or Shauna, though he gets on well with them. He is aware of Shauna's crush on him, and simply doesn't know how to deal with this situation.
Okay that is enough background.
On to the journal fanfic story thing.

11:23pm,

Week 2.

Such a dumb idea, what am I doing? I thought to myself.
The moon was much brighter tonight due to the full moon, but it was such a silly idea to be outside in it.
I hadn’t seen any building for about an hour now. Without the moon I would truly be in pitch darkness.
I was exhausted, as were my Pokemon, my Kirlia, “Runa” sat on my shoulders, something which she used to do a lot as a Ralts.
I never captured Runa, instead she simply decided she would come with me.
I slumped to the ground, Kirlia rushed to my side, and helped me as much as she could as I rested against a fence post.
Runa was the only Pokemon I truly trusted, my Pokemon inside their Pokeballs only thought of battle. This was what was different about Runa.
I unzipped my jacket, Runa scurried and cuddled up inside, she was warm. The warm summer night was one thing I enjoyed.
Slowly I began to drift off to sleep.

One week ago,

I had just gotten my first gym badge and was making my way to Lumiose City, to meet with Professor Sycamore. Kalo’s famous Pokemon researcher. He was the one who gave me my trainers permit, and wanted me to go out and fill the Kalos Pokedex with some other kids from my new town.
My name is Kanon.
Myself and the small group kids included was, Serena, Shauna, Trevor, Teirno.
I was new in town, and didn’t know the group very well, but they seemed friendly enough and wanted to get along with me.
We would often split up to go do our own things, Serena seemed competitive, and had her friend Shauna following along close behind her.
The same for Trevor and Teirno.
I was often alone, but I had my Pokemon to keep me company. At the time I had three Pokemon.

A Chespin, which I had gotten as a started, however he recently evolved into a Quilladin.
A Fletchling.
A Torchic, I had given to me due to some special holiday somewhere, I wasn’t complaining.

I was on a new route, with new species of Pokemon, though at first glance most Pokemon of the area didn’t appeal to me.
I had been walking for roughly thirty minutes when I could hear loud squealing from an unknown Pokemon. I braced myself waiting for whatever the sound was to appear out the bushes.
To my surprise, a small white and green Pokemon came tumbling out into my view followed by a small horde of Combee and Flabebe.
The small white Pokemon saw me and tried to hide behind my legs. I was left facing the small horde. I quickly called my Quilladin and Fletchling to battle to rid the horde.
“They are gone now” I said, my two Pokemon returned to their Pokeballs.
The strange Pokemon looked up at me in amazement.
Strangely this Pokemon was humanoid in appearance. I pulled out my Pokedex to see what this thing was in front of me.
“Ralts, Female, The Feeling Pokemon, It is highly attuned to the emotions of people and Pokemon. It hides if it senses hostility.”
“So, you’re a Ralts?” I said.
The Ralts gave a slight nod, making small “squee” noises.
I wasn’t interested in this Pokemon, but it sure was acting strange. Most Pokemon will hide from humans, or simply run away.
I moved my hand in to pet her head. She didn’t seem fazed at my hand touching her. So I petted her head, messing her green hair, before walking off.
“See you” I said to her, I turned away and began to walk, back onto my journey ahead of me.
Something tugged at my jeans, I looked and found the Ralts pulling at me.
I sighed “what am I going to do with you?” I asked.
The Ralts tilted her head confused.
“Do you want to come with me?” I asked her.
The Ralts gave a small nod followed by a soft “Squee.”
I grabbed a Pokeball out of my bag and expanded the ball, it was now active. I kneeled down next to the Ralts and showed her the ball.
“If you want to come with me, you have to go in here.” I told her.
Again she looked at me confused.
I sighed, I didn’t have time for this.
I didn’t want to force this little Pokemon inside the ball, but how was I meant to bring her like this. I pressed the button on the Pokeball it returned to its smaller size.
“I guess you can follow behind” I said and stood up, I began walking again, the Ralts slowly behind me.
I looked around and saw the Ralts tumble over tripping up on herself.
“Are you okay?” I asked her.
“Squee” the Ralts rubbed at her head.
“You really are hopeless aren’t you?” I said. “Come on, I will carry you.”
I lifted the small Ralts up to my shoulders. She sat there happly.
“I guess I should give you a name” I said to her.
The Ralts “squeed” at me happily.
“Hmm, how about Raltsy?” I said, but the Ralts shook her head in disagreement.
This went on for another thirty minutes, out of names I tried to think of something.
My friend Runa, from my old town would have thought of names in an instant, but me I couldn’t think of anything that fitted the Ralts.
“How about I call you “Runa” till I can think of a better name for you?” I asked.
The Ralts agreed and “squeed” happily.
“Okay, “Runa” it is.
Runa “squeed” once again.

How many people thought it weird that I carried this wild Pokemon around like this? I hadn’t stopped to ask anyone. Serena and Shauna seemed impressed with me and Runa.
Professor Sycamore himself was impressed with Runa, and how she wasn’t even tamed or in a Pokeball.
Eventully over the rest of the week, Runa began to grow into a stronger Pokemon.
It was only tonight that Runa evolved into the Kirlia that she is now. She will always be my Runa to me now.

“I want remember these fireworks with you forever, I know I will!” Shauna had said.
A full moon was rising on the horizon, night was not far behind us.
I stood there with Runa, Runa smiled happily after I had told her what fireworks are. Runa like a small child was excited to see them.
“You know, this is the first time I’ve ever watched fireworks alone with a boy before…” Shauna said, she blushed a bit and trailed off.
I turned away from here, my face was turning red.
“Don’t be and idiot, besides Runa is here” I said to her.
“Just kidding!” Shauna said, her face became a little sad.
The fireworks began, Runa looked up in amazement she “Squeed” with each firework explosion.
“Wow this is so awesome!” Shauna leaned over the rail excitedly.
I quickly reached out and pulled her back.
Shauna opened her eyes wide and we stared at each other for a moment.
I opened my mouth before things could get more awkward.
“You were too close, you might fall” I said.
“Thank you…” Shauna said quietly.
Shauna was quiet for the rest of fireworks display. We finally got the Pokeflute we had come here for and then began walking back to the sleeping Snorlax.
“That was great” I said, Runa immediately nodded in agreement.
“I wish it went longer” Shauna said.
The full moon was fully risen, lighting the dark road.
A few Pokemon could be heard going about in the dark.
Runa had been given a bunch of different Pokemon treats from the owner of the palace earlier and was munching on them happily. Runa had all ways been fond of sweet thing, and was the reason she needed my help when I first found her. She had been attempting to steal Combee honey, but alerted a swarm.
I unwrapped the candy from the packets for Runa. She would grab them and slowly suck on them.
“Squee!” Runa suddenly jumped from my shoulder.
“Runa?” I stopped and saw her standing on the ground.
“Did you eat too many?” Shauna asked.
Runa suddenly began to glow, an evolution.
“She’s evolving” I said.
The light slowly faded in engulfing Runa, and her Ralts form.
Slowly again, just as it faded in, it faded out revealing Runa’s new form, a Kirlia.
“Squeee!” Runa danced around excitedly, like a ballerina.
“Wow, I have never seen a Kirlia up close before” Shauna said. “She is really pretty.”
I was shocked, excited, and a little saddened that Runa had transformed right in front of my eyes. Never again will I be able to hold Runa like I did when she was a Ralts. I would never hear her Squee when she needed help with her food.
“This is great isn’t it?” Shauna said, her face was excited and smiling.
“Yeah, great…” I said.
Runa unlike before followed behind us walking. This only made the pit in my heart deeper.
Why was I saddened by this?
I turned around, Runa’s face had changed from her excited about her evolution to a worried look.
I wondered why.

We finally returned the Pokeflute to the man at the sleeping Snorlax. Finally after the detour and a short battle with the Snorlax we could finally be on our way.
“I’m heading back to the hotel, you coming Kanon.” Shauna said.
“I’m going to go on ahead, check out the day care centre and stuff” I said, I began to walk off without saying a proper goodbye.
“See you later then!” Shauna called out.
I waved without turning around.
My mind and body felt strange, I was sad, angry, determined. Something was up but I didn’t know what.

Runa run to my side, she reached up and grabbed my hand. New emotions filled me, I felt worried, and confused. What was this? I had never felt these emotions. I grabbed my Pokedex out and pointed it towards Runa.

“Kirlia, Female, The Emotion Pokemon, It has a psychic power that enables it to distort the space around it and see into the future.”
Runa nodded her head, then reached for a button on the Pokedex.
“It can sense emotions from its trainer and can also return its own with a special ability.”
“So you know how I feel” I said.
Runa nodded.
“And those emotions from before were yours?” I asked.
Runa nodded again.
“I’m sorry, it’s just I know I should be happy about your evolution, but I feel like I’ll miss you as a Ralts.” I said, Runa grabbed my hand again.
New emotions filled me, it was happy.
“You trying to say I should be happy?”
Runa nodded.
I sighed.
“Runa, you are still you, right?”
Runa nodded.
I felt a little better now that I was able to talk to Runa about.
I felt tired. I should have gone with Shauna.

7:12am,

The next day.

I had slept against a fence railing, Runa was still fast asleep in my jacket. I got to my feet and brushed off the dirt and dust. Then stretched.
“Heeeyyyaaa!” I let out as I stretched.
After getting ready to go again, I picked up the still sleeping Runa and began walking again.
Runa is still Runa I thought to myself, no matter what will come Runa will always be Runa.

Best Horde encounter happened today. My Abomasnow ran into a Geodude horde. He uses Blizzard as usual. Four out of five of them are Sturdy, and half of the survivors are fozen solid! The unfrozen rudely throw rocks at Olaf (the Abomasnow).

Then, in the crowning moment, the Snow Warning picks off all the survivors! It made my day seeing the hail pick them off one by one.

Been Putting in some preparations for that.

OffRoadSP December 22nd, 2013 9:21 PM

Okay, so it's going to take me a while to get caught up with this. Though I've been so busy with work, I haven't had much time to even think about Pokemon....

November 4, 2013

I returned to Ouvert Way to go back to Santalune Forest. I battled a trainer who used a Pichu! No surprise there.

“Pichu, the Tiny Mouse Pokémon, and the pre-evolved form of Pikachu. Pichu play with others by touching tails and setting off sparks. This appears to be a test of courage. Since they are not yet skilled at storing electricity, they may send out jolts if amused or startled.”

Back in the forest, I quickly found the third monkey I expected to find, Pansear! I caught it to add to the group.

“Pansear, the High Temp Pokémon. Pansear live in caves in volcanoes. The fire within the tufts on their heads can reach 600 degrees Fahrenheit. They are very intelligent, and roast berries before eating them. They like to help people.”

10. Pansear

Not long after that, I found a wild Weedle nearby, and caught it.

11. Weedle

I left the forest, exploring Ouvert Way a bit more. I battled another trainer, and this one had a Bidoof!

“Bidoof, the Plump Mouse Pokémon. Bidoof constantly gnaw on logs and rocks to whittle down their front teeth. They nest alongside water. They have nerves of steel and are more agile and active than they appear.”

And shortly after that, I found a Bidoof of my own to catch.

12. Bidoof

I was heading back to Santalune City when I saw some Burmy hanging from a tree! Unfortunately, I was not able to catch any of them. (It kept using Protect, then knocked itself out with Struggle.)

“Burmy, the Bagworm Pokémon. Burmy shelter themselves from cold, wintry winds by covering themselves with cloaks made of twigs and leaves. If this cloak is broken in battle, they quickly remake it with materials nearby.”

I did find another Pokémon known to me, and recently trained. A Dunsparce! I caught it to add to my growing list.

“Dunsparce, the Land Snake Pokémon. Dunsparce dig into the ground with their tails and make a mazelike nest. They can fly just a little. When spotted, they escape backward by furiously boring into the ground with their tails.”

13. Dunsparce

Finally, I was able to catch a few Burmy. First, I found a male and female back to back, and then I found a second female a bit later. I remember the drill from Sinnoh, so I’ll keep my eyes out for a third female Burmy.

14. Burmy

Wow, that’s a huge chunk of Pokémon in just two days. And the evening still isn’t over yet. At this rate, I’ll fill up the Kalos Pokédex rather quickly! … Maybe.

Another sweep of the route before turning in for the night did indeed result in my catching a third female Burmy.

November 5, 2013

I wanted to get some early morning exploring in before work. I took Pansage, Panpour, Pansear, Pidgey, and Bunnelby to train on Ouvert Way, and I caught a little Azurill! (And I was even lucky enough for its ability to be Huge Power!)

15. Azurill

Then I decided to explore Santalune City. There’s a cool Roselia-shaped fountain in the middle of the town, with some benches around it for people to sit and relax in. I also learned that there’s a Pokémon gym in the city! So it looks like my next goal will be to train my Pokémon a bit more and prepare them for my first Kalos gym challenge! It looks like there’s a route to the east of town that would make a good spot for training.

Détourner Way was the name of the route. I found a trainer there who challenged me to a battle. She used a Psyduck and a… who’s that Pokémon?

“Psyduck, the Duck Pokémon. Psyduck are constantly wracked by headaches. When these headaches become intense, they begin using mysterious powers. They don’t recall using these powers, which is why they always look puzzled.”

“Litleo, the Lion Cub Pokémon. Litleo set off on their own from their pride and live by themselves to become stronger. These hot-blooded Pokémon are quick to fight. The stronger the opponents they face, the more heat that surges from their manes and the more power that flows through their bodies.”

What a cute little lion Pokémon! I had to get ready for work, so after winning that battle I returned to the Pokémon Center and gave my Pokéballs to Nurse Joy.

After work, I went back out to Détourner Way and found some more trainers to battle. Many of them had some familiar Pokémon!

“Goldeen, the Goldfish Pokémon. Goldeen swim at a steady 5 knots. Their dorsal, pectoral, and tail fins wave elegantly in the water, which is why they are known as water dancers. If they sense danger, they will strike back with their sharp horns.”

“Marill, the Aquamouse Pokémon, and the evolved form of Azurill. Marrill have fur on their bodies that naturally repel water. They can stay dry, even when they play in the water. The tips of their tails are filled with oil that is lighter than water, and will act as a float.”

“Riolu, the Emanation Pokémon. Riolu use the shape of auras to communicate with others. The auras that emanates from their bodies change according to emotion, and will intensify to alert others if they are afraid or sad.”

Near the end of the route, I battled a trainer who used an interesting new Pokémon. It sort of looked like a tiny white Skiploom with big ears, and it was holding onto a flower, except the flower was about four times the size of the actual Pokémon! Let’s see what the Pokédex has to say.

“Flabébé, the Single Bloom Pokémon. Flabébé find flowers they like, and each will dwell on that flower its whole life long. These flowers they hold are most likely part of their bodies, and they draw out and control the hidden power of flowers. They float in the wind’s embrace with untroubled hearts.”

It looks like past this route was the entrance to this region’s victory road, so it looks like I will be back this way someday. It also looks like there’s a path leading to the mountain region of Kalos to the west. So I turned back to see what kind of wild Pokémon lived on Détourner Way. I saw a lot of common ones by this point, but I also caught a Psyduck and an old favorite of mine, a Farfetch’d!

“Farfetch’d, the Wild Duck Pokémon. Farfetch’d always walk about with plant stalks clamped in their beaks. These stalks are used for building their nests and also as weapons. They will use these stalks like a sword to cut all sorts of things.”

16. Psyduck

17. Farfetch’d

November 6, 2013

I wanted to do some more early morning training again before work, so I went back out to Détourner Way. I found a wild Riolu! When I went to catch it, I realized I had forgotten to stock up on Pokéballs back at the Pokémon Center, and had only two left. The first one failed, so I held my breath when I threw my last one, but thankfully, it worked!

18. Riolu

I then rotated my Pokémon at the Pokémon Center, keeping Azurill with me, and taking my birds and worms: Zigzagoon, Fletchling, Scatterbug, Caterpie, and Weedle.

After a very long day at work, I did more training on Détourner Way. My Caterpie evolved into Metapod!

19. Metapod

Not long after that, my Scatterbug evolved too. I got to see another new Pokémon!

“Spewpa, the Scatterdust Pokémon, and the evolved form of Scatterbug. Spewpa live hidden within thicket shadows. The beaks of bird Pokémon can’t begin to scratch their stalwart bodies. When predators attack, they quickly bristle their fur in an effort to threaten them and spew powder.”

20. Spewpa

November 7, 2013

I couldn’t resist staying up a bit later, especially since I don’t have work tomorrow.
I finally caught a Litleo on Détourner Way!

21. Litleo

Then, on my way back to Santalune City, my Weedle evolved into a Kakuna!

“Kakuna, the Cocoon Pokémon, and the evolved form of Weedle. Kakuna hide from predators under leaves and in nooks of branches while awaiting evolution. Almost incapable of moving, they can only harden their shells to protect from danger.”

22. Kakuna

Back at the Pokémon Center, I decided to think about taking on the Santalune City gym. I heard it’s a bug-type gym, and that the gym leader uses two Pokémon. I think I’d like to take Farfetch’d with me, since I am excited to be training one again. And I think for my second Pokémon, I’ll take Metapod. But for now, time to get some sleep!

First thing in the morning, I entered the Santalune Gym. There were all sorts of artistic photos of bug-type Pokémon hanging on the wall. What is it with these bug-type gym leaders and their love of art? At least she doesn’t have a bunch of cocoons scattered throughout her gym. Oh wait… she does have a spider web leading to the battlefield, that’s close enough. I battled a trainer there who used a Ledyba, but my Farfetch’d learned Aerial Ace, and easily won the battle.

“Ledyba, the Five Star Pokémon. Ledyba are timid and cluster together with others. When the weather turns cold, these clusters gather to keep each other warm. The fluids secreted by their feet indicate their location.”

The next battle was my Metapod versus a trainer’s Spewpa, so that was pretty evenly matched. The next trainer had two Pokémon. My Metapod defeated a Kakuna, and then Farfetch’d easily beat the trainer’s Combee. After the battle, my Metapod evolved into Butterfree! Now I feel ready to face the gym leader!

“Combee, the Tiny Bee Pokémon. Combee collect and deliver honey to their colony. At night, they cluster to form a beehive and sleep.”

“Butterfree, the Butterfly Pokémon, and the evolved form of Metapod. Butterfree love the honey of flowers and can locate flower patches that have even tiny amounts of pollen. Their wings are protected by rain-repellent dust. As a result, they can fly about even in rain.”

23. Butterfree

I returned to the Pokémon Center to rest my Pokémon and give them a break before the big battle. While I relaxed, I looked at my Kalos Pokédex. I can’t believe how many Pokémon I’ve seen, let alone caught. And I haven’t even won a badge yet! To think how previously I’ve only caught a half dozen Pokémon or so before the first gym. The Kalos Region is amazing so far.

Santalune Gym Challenge
Vs. Viola

I made my way to the back of the gym, where I found the gym leader looking at some photos she had recently taken. She introduced herself as Viola, the Santalune City gym leader, and professional photographer. She accepted my request for a gym battle, and we moved onto the battlefield.

One of the female trainers in the gym was the judge for the battle. “This official Kalos League gym battle will now begin! Each trainer can use two Pokémon. The battle will be over when both of either side’s Pokémon are unable to battle. And only the challenger may substitute Pokémon. Both sides may use one Potion during the course of the battle to heal their Pokémon as well.”

I thought back to some of the other regions I’ve been to. I remember Bugsy having a pretty strong Scyther back in the Johto Region. Then there was Burgh in Unova, but his bug- and grass-type Leavanny easily fell to a fire-type attack. I’m counting on flying-types to give me the advantage here, so let’s hope that works.

“That determined expression and glint in your eyes says that you’re up to this challenge,” Viola stated. “It’s fantastic! Just fantastic!”

“Well, I’m excited for my first Kalos gym battle!” I responded.

“So this is your first time challenging a gym? Fantastic!” exclaimed Viola. “This’ll be just fantastic!”

I get the feeling this is one “fantastic” gym leader.

“Now come at me!” Viola threw her first Pokéball. “Go, my fantastic Surskit!”

“Whoa, a Surskit!” I scanned it with my Pokédex. “Looks like Viola was ready for anyone trying to use fire-types!”

“Surskit, the Pond Skater Pokémon. Surskit appear as if they are skating on water. They usually live on ponds, but after an evening shower, they may appear on puddles in towns. They draw prey with a sweet scent from the tip of their heads.”

“A bug-type for a bug-type,” I said. “Butterfree, maximize!”

“Surskit, start off by protecting yourself from fire,” Viola commanded. “Use Water Sport!”

Surskit sprayed water in all directions, moistening everything to diminish any fire-type moves.

“Well, I don’t plan on using fire, so how about psychic?” I called my first move. “Butterfree, use Confusion!”

Confusion struck Surskit, freezing it in place.

“My lens is always focused on victory,” Viola said. “I won’t let anything ruin this shot! Surskit, Bubble!”

The Bubble attack fired off quickly, and landed a critical hit on Butterfree!

“Hang in there, Butterfree!” My Pokémon was still okay, despite the hit. “Use Confusion again!”

“Surskit, intercept with Bubble!” Viola called in response. The two attacks collided, evenly matched.

“Butterfree, quick, Confusion again!” Another hit. We were slowly chipping away Surskit’s energy. It looked like it couldn’t take another hit.

“All right, let’s finish this round with Tackle!” My Butterfree charged at Surskit for the final blow, but Viola had given Surskit a Potion, restoring its health!

“Aw, man, we were so close!” I complained. “We’re still doing well though. Butterfree, use Confusion!”

“Surskit, show them a fantastic dodge with your fantastic Quick Attack!” Viola’s Pokémon moved very fast, though both attacks struck each Pokémon. Meanwhile, the water from the Water Sport was drying up. Not that it really mattered.

“Now Surskit, one more fantastic Bubble attack!” Surskit was struggling a bit, but fired off the attack.

“Butterfree, Confusion, let’s go!” The Confusion collided with Bubble, but pressed it back, and flung Surskit across the field.

The judge raised her arm. “Surskit is unable to battle. Butterfree wins the first round!”

“Way to go, Butterfree!” I congratulated my Pokémon.

“Surskit, return,” Viola said as she recalled her Pokémon. “You were simply fantastic out there.”

“Butterfree, return, take a good long rest.” I called my Pokémon back as well.

Viola prepared her next Pokéball, and turned to address me. “Whether it’s the tears of frustration following a loss or the blossoming of joy that comes with victory, they’re both great subjects for my camera! Go, my fantastic Vivillon!”

“Who’s that Pokémon?” I asked as I scanned it with my Pokédex.

“Vivillon, the Scale Pokémon, and the evolved form of Spewpa. Vivillon with many different patterns are found all over the world. These patterns on their wings are affected by the climate and topography of their habitat. They scatter colorful scales.”

“Ok, so it’s a bug and flying-type like Butterfree, so no surprises there. Farfetch’d, I choose you, maximize!” My second Pokémon took the field.

“Farfetch’d? Interesting,” commented Viola. “Most trainers come in here with a Pidgey or a Fletchling. This is fantastic! That Farfetch’d is fantastic!”

That word is starting to strike me like a Screech attack.

“Vivillon, use Infestation!” Viola gave the command.

“Infestation? What’s that?” That’s a new move to me, so I’m not sure how to respond! A tiny swarm surrounded Farfetch’d and was doing continual damage to it!

“I take it you’ve never seen this fantastic move before,” Viola began to explain. “Infestation keeps doing damage, and prevents you from recalling your Pokémon.”

“So, it’s like a bug-type Wrap attack, got it. Pretty cool,” I said. “Farfetch’d, use Leer!”

I decided to fight back by lowering Vivillon’s defense. I probably didn’t need to, but… just in case.

“Now, Vivillon, Tackle!” Vivillon charged at Farfetch’d, and struck a solid hit.

“While it’s in close, use Aerial Ace!” I commanded Farfetch’d. Aerial Ace did massive super-effective damage on Vivillon!

“Vivillon, no!” Viola yelled. “Use Tackle again!”

“Farfetch’d, when it comes in close, use Fury Attack!”

Both Pokémon collided, but the Fury Attack was more than Vivillon could handle after the last attack!

“Vivillon is unable to battle,” called the judge. “Farfetch’d wins! The winner of the Santalune City gym battle is Steve!”

“Vivillon, fantastic job, return,” Viola collected her fallen Pokémon, and then approached me. “Steve, you and your Pokémon have shown me a whole new depth of field! Fantastic! Just fantastic! Here! This Bug Badge commemorates your win against a pro photog like me.”

I’ve won my first badge in the Kalos Region, the Bug Badge! All I can say is, “Fantastic!”

I was approaching the door where the Pokémon League Champion sat waiting, my heart racing, I went to ope... just then I felt my Mom's Fletching tackle me!
I jumped up out of bed, went downstairs for breakfast and the decided to get ready. We had just moved to this little town named Vaniville and my Mom insisted on me meeting the neighbors so I went outside to meet two girls that live in my new town; Shauna and Serena, I instantly started to find Shauna annoying but I'm not too quick to judge, she mentioned that the Professor wanted us to all go on a journey around the Kalos region with a Pokémon, am I still dreaming?..
After running through Route 1 with excitement I found myself in Aquacorde Town, this town was larger than where I lived and I couldn't wait to explore. I was suddenly stopped by someone calling my name, so I went and sat down at a table with both Serena and Shauna and they introduced me to two new people Tierno a really cool guy that loves to dance and Trevor who I found to be quite polite. Tierno suggested my new friends start calling me M-Meister and then went into his bag to show us three Pokéballs, this was it, we were going to get our very own Pokémon!
I instantly fell in love with Chespin the grass type Pokémon and asked if he would like to travel around Kalos with me, he was adamant that I was the right trainer for him and it was official, I was now a Pokémon Trainer!
Trevor then gave the the Pokédex to record the data of my Chespin and Tierno gave me a letter from the Professor addressed to my Mom. I wasn't waiting around so I got up out of my chair and ran straight home or that was my plan at least until Shauna stopped me and demanded a battle, I had no choice so I sent out Chespin and told him to use Vine Whip on her Froakie, after being hit by a bubble one more Vine Whip was enough to knock out her Pokémon. Shauna thanked me for the battle after this by healing up my Chespin, without looking back I ran past Route 1 and into my house, my Mom accepted I was leaving after reading the letter Tierno had given me from the Professor and packed a change of clothes, I said bye to Fletching, Rhyhorn and my Mom and set off through Aquacorde Town arriving at Route 2 where I battled a Pidgey and came out on top, I met up with the girls, Serena was kind enough to teach Shauna and I how to catch Pokémon, after that she went onwards leaving me with 10 Pokéballs... who knows what could happen!

After taking a little rest at the Pokémon Center, I decided to see where I should go next. I looked at the map, and it seems Lumiose City, my original intended destination, was not too far away. I took Bidoof, Dunsparce, Azurill, and my trio of female Burmy, and left Santalune City, stepping onto Route 4.

Route 4 was known as Parterre Way, and was a path lined with hedge mazes and a huge fountain in the middle of the route. There was a bunch more wild Pokémon in this area! The amount of diversity of Pokémon species in Kalos still amazes me.

A lot has happened, so I’ll try to sum it up as much as possible.

The first wild Pokémon I saw on the route was a little Ralts! But it did manage to get away from me.

“Ralts, the Feeling Pokémon. Ralts are highly attuned to the emotions of people and Pokémon. If their horns capture warm feelings, their bodies warm up slightly. They will hide if they sense hostility.”

Then, in a patch of flowers outside the hedge maze, I managed to catch a Ledyba!

24. Ledyba

Shortly after that, I managed to snag a Ralts!

25. Ralts

I saw a Budew running through some of the bushes. I didn’t catch it, but scanned it in my Pokédex that I saw it.

“Budew, the Bud Pokémon. Budew live alongside clear pools. When they feel the sun’s warm touch, they open their buds to release pollen. Over the winter, they close their buds and endure the cold.”

I noticed that Flebébé can have a bunch of different-colored flowers that they hold. The patches of yellow and red flowers had plenty of Flabébé in them, and I did come across the occasional white flower and orange flower Flabébé, though they were definitely rarer.

I found and caught another Ralts, since I remember back in Sinnoh learning that they can evolve two ways. And then I managed to catch a Budew as well.

26. Budew

Finally, before returning to the Pokémon Center in Santalune City for the evening, I saw a Skitty running around, but did not catch it.

“Skitty, the Kitten Pokémon. Skitty show their cute sides by chasing their own tails until they get dizzy. They can’t stop from chasing moving things.”

November 9, 2013

I’m at a board gaming convention this weekend, but still managed to squeeze in some Pokémon training. There’s just too much yet to discover in Kalos!

I rotated some Pokémon and took Litleo, Psyduck, and Riolu with me. Maybe it’s because I’m a cat person, but Litleo has to be one of my favorite new Pokémon. I love the unique normal/fire type combination!

I also finally decided on what kind of Flabébé I wanted to catch. After a little searching, I caught one that was holding an orange flower.

27. Flabébé

I battled some of the gardeners in the hedge maze, and they seem to like using Corphish, a Pokémon I just recently and briefly trained in Unova. Hopefully I’ll catch one sooner this time.

“Corphish, the Ruffian Pokémon. Corphish can adapt to any environment due to their hardy vitality. They have a strong will to survive, and will thrive no matter how dirty the water. Their pincers will never release prey.”

Then, among the flowers, I caught a Combee!

28. Combee

After extensive searching, I finally found another Skitty, but Litleo knocked it out accidentally with a critical hit. So I went back to the Pokémon Center and rotated my Pokémon again, this time bringing out the Pokémon I caught on Parterre Way so far: Ralts, Ralts, Flabébé, Budew, Ledyba, and Combee. Then, once I returned to the route, I finally caught my Skitty!

29. Skitty

Satisfied that I found all the Pokémon I could on this route, I continued on the path. I stopped to admire the nice fountain halfway along the route, with two Horsea on the either end, and a Clamperl atop the fountain in the center. Near the end of the route, a young kid wanted to battle me with a Pokémon he just got in a trade. Looks like the Magikarp Salesman struck again. Is he targeting kids now? Well, maybe this kid will get lucky and it will evolve quickly for him… although I’m not sure if preschoolers should be playing with Gyarados…

“Magikarp, the Fish Pokémon. Magikarp are virtually worthless in terms of both power and speed. They are the most weak and pathetic Pokémon in the world. In the distant past, they were somewhat stronger than the horribly weak descendants that exist today.”

Lumiose City was now dead ahead! Before I entered the gates leading into the city, I ran into two of Professor Sycamore’s assistants who introduced themselves as Dexio and Sina. They said they would escort me to the professor’s laboratory in the city. They asked me if I ever heard of the new Pokémon type that was discovered, the fairy-type. Apparently, new Pokémon like Flabébé are fairy-type, but some existing Pokémon, like Azurill and Ralts, are also part fairy-type. I remember hearing a little bit about this from Professor Juniper, but I’m definitely excited to learn more! I wonder what their type advantages and disadvantages are?

As I stepped into Lumiose City, I was struck immediately with how massive the place seemed. And I thought Castelia City in Unova was big, but this place definitely might beat it! There’s so much to see and do here, but first I wanted to stop in at the Pokémon Center, heal up my Pokémon, and then rotate them. I took Skitty, Psyduck, Butterfree, Pansage, Spewpa, and Combee with me. It then occurred to me that the professor’s lab was in a big city like this. Most of the various regions’ professors have their labs in more rural towns where they can have lots of land for Pokémon that are kept there by trainers. This should be interesting to see.

When I reached Professor Sycamore’s lab, Dexio and Sina told me I could find him on the third floor of the lab. I took the elevator to the third floor, and Sycamore greeted me as I stepped out of it.

“So we finally meet!” Sycamore exclaimed. “Many thanks for coming all the way from the Unova region! I’m Professor Sycamore. Professor Juniper has told me a little about you.”

“Nice to meet you professor, my name is Steve,” I replied. “And I’m more than happy to come and explore a new region. Thank you very much for the Pokédex too! It’s come in very handy in my short time here in Kalos.”

“Have you met many different Pokémon?” asked Sycamore. “Let me have a quick look at your Pokédex to see.”

Professor Sycamore analyzed my Pokédex, and seemed impressed with how many Pokémon I’d seen so far. “Since I’m still waiting for a few more kids to get here, how about you have a battle with me?”

I gladly accepted his challenge, but was shocked when I found out what three Pokémon he was using. It was the starter Pokémon from the Kanto region, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle! My Skitty won against Bulbasaur; Pansage beat back Squirtle with its Vine Whip; and Psyduck doused Charmander with its Water Gun.

“Bulbasaur, the Seed Pokémon. Bulbasaur grow by gaining nourishment from the seeds on their backs. This seed was planted on each of their backs at birth. The plant sprouts and grows with the Pokémon.”

“Squirtle, the Tiny Turtle Pokémon. Squirtle shoot water at prey while in the water. When in danger, they withdraw into their shells for shelter, then strike back with spouts of water at every opportunity.”

“Charmander, the Lizard Pokémon. Charmander have a flame that burns at the tip of their tails from the time they are born. This flame indicates their life force. If one is healthy, the flame burns brightly.”

Meanwhile, Shauna, Serena, Tierno, and Trevor showed up at the lab. Professor Sycamore wanted to give out these three Pokémon! Amazing! I never would have expected these Pokémon to be in the Kalos Pokédex. After Shauna and Serena chose their Pokémon, Charmander remained. He wanted to give it to Calem, but apparently he’s already headed towards the coast with his Chespin. So the Professor asked if I could take Charmander with me and drop it off at the Pokémon Day Care, and that he’d contact Calem and tell him to pick it up there. I accepted, and took Charmander’s Pokéball!

30. Charmander

When I asked the Professor where my Pokémon are kept, he informed me that he does not keep other trainers’ Pokémon at his lab. While he does have a small habitat set up for his research, he said most Pokémon are kept at a nearby town called Camphrier Town, where there is much more land for Pokémon to run around and live on. He then revealed to us his area of study. He said he was studying Pokémon evolution. I assumed it was similar to Professor Rowan in Sinnoh, but then he clarified that specifically he was interested in something called Mega Evolution. Apparently, it is possible that Pokémon can evolve beyond their known final stage. That’s almost unbelievable! He asked for our help in uncovering clues to this new phenomenon. Camphrier Town is a place with a lot of history, he explained, and may be a good place to start. He then gave us some parting words.

“Be the best trainer you can be! At the same time, remember to have fun traveling with your Pokémon!”

Each of the group assembled has their own dreams and goals as well. Tierno wants loves to dance and wants to find Pokémon with amazing moves that would work well in dancing. Trevor, like me, has a goal of completing the Pokédex. It’s a very diverse group.

On the way out of the lab, we ran into an unusual character who called himself Lysandre. He was a stiff looking fellow, except for his wild orange hair.

“Ah, so these are the children starting their journeys then,” Lysandre began. Then he motioned to me. “And an adult, too, I take it?”

“I’ve been on my Pokémon journey for over 15 years,” I responded. “Though I am just beginning my travels here in Kalos.”

“So you are one of the chosen ones,” the odd man continued. “I’ve tried to learn as much about Pokémon as I can to help build a better future. Professor Sycamore here has taught me so much. Now listen! It is vital that this world become a better place. And the people and Pokémon chosen to make the world a better place must work tirelessly to achieve this goal. Well, I’ll be off. My desire… it is for a more beautiful world.”

Yet another person with his own individual dream to strive for. Though he does rub me the wrong way.

I then explored as much of the city as I could. I did rotate out my Skitty for my Riolu at one point. And then I tried to see everything Lumiose City had to offer. There were tons of cafes, and even a place to make a personalized “Trainer PR” video! I decided to give it a go and made one with my Spewpa.

One of the cafes I entered on Southern Boulevard was Café Soleil. Inside was Lysandre again. He was talking to someone dressed fairly flashy. The locals in the café said she was a big movie star named Diantha. I listened in to their conversation. Lysandre was asking Diantha if she would want to stay young and beautiful forever. She seemed irritated by the question.

“Youth may be beautiful, but it’s not all there is to life,” Diantha stated. “Everything changes. I want to live and change like that, too. So I look forward to playing different roles as I get older.”

They went back and forth a bit, and then I heard Lysandre say something a little… creepy.

“I would make this world unchanging and eternal so all beauty will last forever,” he said. “Or I would end the world in an instant so that beauty never fades.”

They then noticed me, and Lysandre introduced me to Diantha.

“Your Pokémon look so happy,” she commented. “I’m a trainer myself, in my off time. I look forward to us battling someday!”

November 10, 2013

I explored more of Lumiose City, this time checking out what was happening on Vernal Avenue. In addition to some more cafés, there was a Stone Emporium, where they sold basic evolution stones; a Herboriste, which sells healing herbs; and a place called Friseur Furfrou, dedicated to giving trims to a very popular Pokémon in Lumiose City, a Pokémon that looked like a large poodle called Furfrou.

“Furfrou, the Poodle Pokémon. Furfrou have fluffy fur. Trimming this fur not only makes them more elegant but also increases the swiftness of their movements. Historically, in the Kalos region, these Pokémon were the designated guardians of the king.”

So I decided to follow Professor Sycamore’s suggestion and head towards Camphrier Town. I exited Lumiose City onto Route 5, a path called Versant Road. There was a skate park just off the road for people to enjoy. But I was more interested in discovering what kind of wild Pokémon lived on this route. Suddenly though, a Lucario approached me out of nowhere. Its trainer was skating at the skate park, and caught up to Lucario. She had a second Lucario following her too. She introduced herself as Korrina, the Shalour City Gym Leader. She said that Lucario was attracted to my aura, but left quickly after a brief conversation.

The first wild Pokémon I came across was Scraggy, except, it wasn’t just one Scraggy, but a horde of them! I managed to catch one.

“Scraggy, the Shedding Pokémon. Scraggy are proud of their sturdy skull, and will headbutt everything, but their weight makes them unstable, too. Their skin has a rubber elasticity, so they can reduce damage by defensively pulling their skin up to their necks.”

31. Scraggy

Next I found a wild Gulpin! I had Spewpa battle it, and caught it. As a bonus, my Spewpa evolved into Vivillon!

“Gulpin, the Stomach Pokémon. Gulpin have small hearts and brains. Their stomachs comprise most of their bodies, and there is nothing they can’t digest. While they are digesting, vile, overpowering gases are expelled.”

32. Gulpin

33. Vivillon

I noticed my Vivillon looked significantly different than Viola’s. I’ll have to look into why that is. Next I ran into a wild Abra! But to no surprise, it Teleported away very quickly after it saw me. I also saw some wild Bunnelby here, and I happened upon a lone Minun, so I expect there are Plusle here too. Then I saw a Pokémon that I think I saw in the streets of Lumiose, a little grass-type Pokémon called Skiddo. Sadly, I didn’t manage to catch any of them.

“Abra, the Psi Pokémon. Abra sense impending attacks and teleport away to safety before the actual attack can strike. They sleep for 18 hours a day. They use a variety of extrasensory powers even while asleep.”

“Minun, the Cheering Pokémon. Minun cheer on their friends. If their friends are losing, their bodies let off more and more sparks. Exposure to electricity from both Minun and Plusle promotes blood circulation and relaxes muscles.”

“Skiddo, the Mount Pokémon. Skiddo don’t need to eat if they have sunshine and water, because they can generate energy from the leaves on their backs. Thought to be one of the first Pokémon to live in harmony with humans, they have placid dispositions.”

I returned to the Pokémon Center in Lumiose City for the night, and rotated my Psyduck for my second Ralts (which I’ll designate as Ralts(2) from here on, and do the same for my other multiple Pokémon).

I planned to make this a little more exciting than listing what happened but I haven't been able to put the game down to type an entry!
Chespin and I managed to defeat Viola, the Bug type Gym Leader using Rollout, it was close, Infestation almost had me!
I received a Charmander from Professor Sycamore upon arriving at Lumiose City and caught myself a Gentle Espurr on Route 6, by this time Chespin had evolved into a Quilladin and Charmander soon followed by evolving into a Charmeleon. When inside Glittering Cave Espurr had gained enough experience to evolve into Meowstic, Psychic being my favourite type, I was excited to say the least. I revived a Jaw fossil found in the cave and he turned out to be a rather Serious Tyrunt!
I made it to Cyllage City and climbed mountains to challenge Grant for my second badge, Charmeleon handled is Amaura quite well and Quilladin took care of his own Tyrunt! Two down, six to go...
After finding out about a group that goes by the name Team Flare, when resting up at Geosenge Town one member revealed their plan to use the stones surrounding the town to make themselves happy.. yeah whatever, right?
So I headed East towards Reflection Cave and met a few new friends along the way, I caught myself a Staravia and Nidorino, soon after Quilladin evolved into a mighty Chesnaught, now a dual Grass/Fighting type. I sent him home to look after my Mom and decided to try my hand at breeding, after much care a male Froakie hatched from the egg I was so excited I just had to do it again!
Now with a baby Froakie and Snivy newly hatched I set my destination for Reflection Cave then onward to Shalour. Inside the cave I came across a Moon Stone, which when held against my Nidorino forced him to evolve into a Nidoking, Snivy and Froakie were no longer baby Pokémon as they both had evolved too!
I'm resting up at the Pokémon Center, writing this, waiting until my team are healthy enough to challenge the Shalour City Gym Leader for our third badge!

Hoping to get caught up with these soon... since I had an exciting encounter just yesterday that I can't wait to post about...

November 11, 2013

Since I have the day off from work, even though it’s after midnight, I decided to continue exploring Versant Road. First, I found a little Pokémon that looked like a rough and tough panda bear! Thanks to my Butterfree’s Sleep Powder, I managed to catch it. It looks cool, I wonder what it is?

“Pancham, the Playful Pokémon. Pancham do their level best to glare and pull a scary face, but they can’t help grinning if anyone pats their heads. Chewing on a leaf is their trademark.”

34. Pancham

Next I found and caught a familiar Pokémon, one I haven’t trained in several years, a Doduo!

“Doduo, the Twin Bird Pokémon. Doduo are two-headed Pokémon that were discovered as a sudden mutation. The brains in their two heads appear to communicate emotions to each other with a telepathic power. They run at a pace of over 60 miles per hour.”

35. Doduo

I was finally getting tired, so I returned to the Pokémon Center, rotated Butterfree for my Bunnelby, and then went to bed.

Today is a nice, relaxing Monday off from work! So first thing in the morning, I set out again on Versant Road to see what else I could find. Before I left, I rotated Pansage, Spewpa, Combee, and Riolu for Zigzagoon, Litleo, Pidgey, and Farfetch’d. While training my Ralts I came across a wild Abra. I threw a Pokéball and was lucky enough to catch it!

36. Abra

I rotated my Ralts for Skitty. I have so many Pokémon to train in a rotation already! I then finally found a Furfrou to catch. Since they seem rather prized in the Kalos region, I decided to catch it in a Premier Ball. Shortly after that, I caught a Skiddo as well.

37. Furfrou

38. Skiddo

I then spent a lot of time training my Pokémon, rotating through Azurill, Bidoof, Burmy(1), Ralts(1), Dunsparce, Burmy(2), and Flabébé. Still, despite all the time spent training, I did not find any Plusle or Minun on the route. I ran into Trevor and Tierno, and Trevor mentioned to me that Plusle and Minun tend to show up in hordes. He said that if I want to attract hordes of Pokémon, to use Honey. I had three jars of it that my Combee gathered with its special ability, so I used that. I got lucky, because after my second attempt, I found a Minun horde, with a lone Plusle among them! I caught the Plusle that was in the group.

“Plusle, the Cheering Pokémon. Plusle absorb electricity from telephone poles. They short out their bodies to create crackling noises. They cheer on friends with pom-poms made of sparks.”

39. Plusle

I then had a double battle against two twins who used a Plusle and Minun themselves. I battled with my Bidoof and Burmy. After the battle, my Bidoof started to evolve into Bibarel!

“Bibarel, the Beaver Pokémon, and the evolved form of Bidoof. Bibarel make their nests by damming streams with bark and mud, using stacks of branches and roots they have cut up with their sharp incisors. They are known to be industrious workers.”

40. Bibarel

I then rotated my Bibarel, Burmy(1), and Ralts(1) for my Burmy(M), Burmy(3), and Fletchling. (I can’t wait until they evolve so they’re easier to keep track of.) As I was training my team, I finally found a Minun to catch!

41. Minun

I think that’s all the Pokémon for me to catch on this route, so I rotated out Dunsparce and Burmy(2) for my Kakuna and Pansear, and decided I would press onward to try to reach Camphrier Town. When I returned to Versant Road, Tierno challenged me to a battle. He had a tough Corphish, but my Flabébé was able to win using its Vine Whip attack. Further down the route, I battled a trainer who had a Kadabra!

“Kadabra, the Psi Pokémon, and the evolved form of Abra. Kadabra can use their psychic abilities to emit special alpha waves that cause machines to malfunction and precision devices to become ruined.”

At one of my stops to the Pokémon Center, I rotated my Flabébé for my Panpour. Then I was had a trainer battle where my Kakuna faced someone’s Skiddo. It easily won with having a type advantage, and after the battle my Kakuna evolved into Beedrill!

“Beedrill, the Poison Bee Pokémon, and the evolved form of Kakuna. Beedrill may appear in swarms. They have poisonous stingers on their forelegs and their tails. They fly at violent speeds and will jab at enemies repeatedly.”

42. Beedrill

A few more trainer battles later, one of them used an Oddish, which is the first one I’ve seen in quite a long time.

“Oddish, the Weed Pokémon. Oddish stay in the cold underground to avoid the sun during the day. At night, they are said to walk nearly 1,000 feet on their two roots. They grow by bathing in moonlight.”

I then found another wild Minun horde. I wanted to catch one for a friend of mine, so I tossed a Pokéball at one, and it was my first critical capture in Kalos! …Which failed. Really? I did manage to catch it in the end, but I’ve never had a critical capture fail before.

November 12, 2013

In the morning before work, I wanted to try to reach Camphrier Town. I rotated Burmy, Burmy, and Fletchling for Ledyba, Budew, and now Skiddo. I’m actually through rotating all my current Pokémon, so now to bring out the Pokémon I’ve caught right here on Versant Road. I found an Oran Berry tree on the way, which was fun to see since there weren’t any berry trees when I was in Unova. Near the end of the route, I battled a trainer who used a Sentret.

“Sentret, the Scout Pokémon. Sentret act as a lookout by standing on their tails so they can see a long way. If they spot enemies, they cry loudly to warn their kind. They may also warn others of danger by screeching and hitting the ground with their tails.”

I reached Camphrier Town. It’s definitely a much quieter town, with a lot more nature surrounding it. I met a man named Cassius, and he was the one actually taking care of my Pokémon. So I got to see where all my Pokémon get to relax when they’re not with me. There wasn’t too much to see here, so after a little exploring I returned to Lumiose City and visited Professor Sycamore.

I asked the professor about why my Vivillon looked different than the one I faced in my recent gym battle. He said it’s dependent on the climate and habitat that it is raised in. Since I live in the northeastern US, when my Scatterbug is caught and raised, it will have the Polar Pattern when it evolves into Vivillon. Viola’s Vivillon had the Meadow Pattern. He said there are over a dozen known patterns that Vivillon can have. I wonder if I’ll ever get to see some of the others.

I left the lab and realized there was one more place I hadn’t checked out yet in the city, a one-star restaurant called Restaurant Le Nah. Not only do you get a good meal, you get to battle the chef in a double battle in between courses! So I tried it for the first time with Beedrill and Pansear. It was pricy, but I think the prizes for winning balanced out the cost. After the battle, I rotated out Beedrill and Pansear and had Pancham and Furfrou sent to me.
Since I had Furfrou with me, I figured I’d give Friseur Furfrou a try and give my Furfrou a custom trim. They gave me some choices, but I went with a Star Trim. It looks kind of funny. I might just go with its standard look most of the time.

November 13, 2013

In the morning I paid another visit to Restaurant Le Nah, this time with Panpour and Ledyba. After the battle, I switched them and my Budew out for my Doduo, Plusle, and Minun.

Just started the game. Wow, these graphics are wonderful! And item management is so fast and convenient.

So far...

Nutty the Chespin L12

Saved at Santalune City. Got the Mystery Gift Torchic. The trainers up until now were pathetic, and I found nothing worth catching. In terms of difficulty it has been really dumbed down because your rival battle isn't even against the trainer who chooses the Pokémon with an advantage against yours. One Vine Whip and down Froakie went.

I guess Nutty will have to wait a while for a teammate... Not using Torchic because I want to use Charmander instead.

Soo I got this game on the day of UK release, played around 20 minutes and just couldn't get into the look of it. But yesterday I was determined to give it a proper go and so picked it up now I'm just past the 1st gym and ready to properly start my Kalos adventure :) Just caught a Pancham too!

LicensedJet December 30th, 2013 5:03 AM

After waiting a long time to obtain my second Gym badge, the third Gym came sooner than I expected.
My Pokémon were all healthy so I headed for the Gym, Trevor and Tierno both caught up with me to remind me of our mission, to discover the wonders of Mega Evolution and that the Mega Evolution Guru was here in this City..
Enough of that, I wanted a new badge. After exploring the City and meeting new people I found the Poet outside the Gym, he kindly told me Korrina the Gym leader was in the Tower of Mastery.. why does that sound familiar?
It suddenly hit me, that is where Trevor said we could find the Mega Evolution Guru!
I walked down the stairs leading to a path and was given an Intriguing Stone by Tierno, I turned around and my mouth opened with amazement, the Tower of Mastery so far, is the highlight of my journey!
I did a few 360s in excitement using my Roller Skates and went towards the thing that stood overshadowing me.
Inside I found a lovely statue of an odd looking Pokémon, it looked like a Lucario but I couldn't be sure. I went through a door and found the Gym Leader with the Mega Evolution Guru, turns out they're related! By this time the whole crew had arrived and he told us about Mega Evolution; Shauna decided she wanted to make many memories but mastering Mega Evolution wasn't one of them, Trevor just wanted to stay on completing the Pokédex like I knew he would and Tierno isn't that much for battling so he decided to pass on the opportunity.
That left Serena and myself, I could tell by the look in her eye she wanted it as much as I did. With there being only one Mega Ring we settled it like Pokémon Trainers and battled for it. I won of course..
Finally! I had to defeat Korrina in a Gym battle to obtain the Mega Ring and my third Gym badge so I left Shauna at the Tower and went to the gym, forgetting my Pokémon had just battled but that wasn't much of a problem as Staravia and Meowstic took care of those fighting Pokémon inside. I healed up and went straight for it, after a long battle I was victorious and now owned three Gym badges, I wonder how many Serena has!
Korrina wouldn't give it up and wanted another battle at the summit of the Tower this time using Mega Evolution, so I scaled the Tower and we were ready for battle, this time I wouldn't be using my team but one of Korrina's Lucario!
Watching him Mega Evolve was amazing it was something new and made me want to see what other Pokémon could Mega Evolve! Once the battle had ended Lucario decided he wanted to come along with me, I already had my team of six Pokémon but accepted him and left with my new Mega Ring that was in the shape of a bracelet??
Having taught him Surf, Frogadier helped me through Route 12 where I came across a Miltank and I had to catch it. Unfortunately Charmeleon burned her and she fainted which was just enough for him to evolve into Charizard, it brought a tear to my eye as Charizard is my favourite Pokémon! I had a little fun after that, riding around on a cute little Skiddo then pushed onwards towards Coumarine City.. isn't there a Gym here?!
I found out this City had two parts to it, the lower part was where I needed to be to rest my Pokémon. In font of the gym I battled Serena once again and there wasn't much difference to our previous battle other than giving my Charizard the chance to Mega Evolve into Mega Chariazd Y! Once the battle was over, my Staravia evolved into a Staraptor!
I went inside Coumarine City Gym to learn it was a Grass type Gym, Charizard and Starptor could have easily handled this, using a technique I learned from a Trainer on Route 22 I gave some of my Pokémon extra experience enough to evolve my blue frog into a cool looking Greninja, he also gained the Dark type!
I came face to face with Ramos the Gym Leader and an Aerial Ace from Staraptor was more then enough to take out his Jumpluff, then it took a Fly to handle his Gogoat. Starptor earned himself a rest so I sent out Nidoking, his Poison Jab left Weepinbell with a little HP which was recovered due to Ramos using an healing item. One Power-Up Punch ensured my Nidoking's next Poison Jab was enough to take out his Weepinbell. Thanks to the Exp. Share Servine gained a level and was now evolving into the Regal Pokémon, Serperior! My team was complete and I now had four badges, I'm half way there!
I headed South and was in the Lumiose Badlands when I discovered Team Flare had taken over the Power Plant, I had to intervene. Taking out many grunts I battled with their admins and they soon cleared off like the cowards they are!
After being stalled by many Dugtrio and Trapinch I found my way out of the Badlands and came across a giant?! It said something about a flower Pokémon and walked off. Just before entering a close by connecting tunnel, I found my first Rare Candy which I fought to be an achievement itself!
Back in Lumiose City but on the North side I met up with Shauna and we watched Prism Tower lights get turned on. I went around Lumiose taking part in activities and did a little shopping, I even got my Furfrou that I caught a while back a trim!
With doing all this I got my image around the City enough to make the lady at the door of the Boutique welcome me inside but everything in here was too expensive for me, I felt out of place so I left and went to face Clemont the Gym Leader!
His Emolga gave me a hard time but spamming Extrasensory, Meowstic finally knocked it out. Magneton was easy enough with Staraptor using Close Combat and one Dig from Nidoking took out his Heliolisk winning me the battle.
Now the proud owner of the Voltage Badge I decided to do a little wonder trading and got an Adamant Protean Froakie.. that should help once I decide to start breeding again.
I left Lumiose and was on Route 14, it was pouring down but that didn't stop Serena from challenging me to another battle. Soon after the crew got together and wanted to check out the woods near by, Serena ran off and the other three told me to catch up with them, the closest shelter I could find so these pages didn't get wet was at the top of a slide. I'm sat there writing this so I can look back on my journey but as soon as the ink stops flowing, I'm down that slide and skating onwards!

Made my way to Cyllage City, but before I take on the Gym decided to head up to Route 10 - where I caught Eevee :) My favourite Pokemon. Hopefully I'll have my 2nd Gym badge sometime soon after a little bit of extra training.

Sopheria December 30th, 2013 7:08 AM

So I caught Zygarde last night, and it was the best catch I've ever made. Mawile used Ice Fang, brought him down to half HP, froze him, and then I used a dusk ball. This is all in one turn :D

Glad to see this thread becoming more active lately!

November 14, 2013

Shauna and I visited Shabboneau Castle, hoping to learn something about Mega Evolution. Unfortunately, no one had any information about it. I decided to have a look around the castle, and then left when I heard there was a commotion of some sort happening on Route 7.

When I got there, I found a group of people standing near a small bridge. As I approached, I saw what had them worried: there was a Snorlax sleeping on the bridge, blocking anyone from crossing it! As I well know from a similar situation in Kanto, only a Poké Flute will awaken the sleeping Snorlax, so it seems that path is closed off for now.

Nearby, I found Berry Fields where all sorts of berries can be planted and grown. I planted the few I’ve obtained so far. Then I did just a little bit of training with my team, and rotated out my Skiddo for my Gulpin.

Today also happens to be my first day of a week vacation from work, so I’m hoping to get in lots of Pokémon training time!

November 19, 2013

Professor Sycamore called me to his lab. He had something he wanted to give me; a Pokémon egg! He also said that the couple that runs the Day Care will have a half dozen more eggs for me once I get there. He also gave me a handful of stones that he called Mega Stones, saying that they have something to do with Mega Evolution. I gratefully accepted the egg and the stones, and then returned to Camphrier Town. It only took me a few steps onto Route 7 for my egg to hatch into a Pichu!

43. Pichu

I also rotated a few Pokémon on my team, exchanging my Pancham and Furfrou for my Scraggy and new Pichu. And I also received two more medals!

E-001-1 Fun Beginning Trader A Medal to commemorate the first trade of Pokémon by Link Trade. 11/19/2013
A-042-1 Adventure Egg Beginner A Medal to prove the fresh parental instincts of people who hatched a Pokémon Egg for the first time. 11/19/2013

November 20, 2013

Just after midnight, I started to explore Route 6, a shady path called Palais Lane. At the end of this path was a large mansion known as Parfum Palace, and I was told that the owner of the palace had a Poké Flute which can be used to wake up the sleeping Snorlax. But before I got to the palace, I wanted to thoroughly explore Palais Lane. There was plenty of tall grass on both sides of the shady path, so there must be plenty of wild Pokémon to find! After a brutal double battle against a couple with a pair of Furfrou, I was heading back to the Pokémon Center when suddenly a Pokémon jumped out of the bushes! Who’s that Pokémon? Oh, it’s just a little Venipede! I caught it fairly easily.

“Venipede, the Centipede Pokémon. Venipede discover what is going on around them by using the feelers on their heads and tails. They are brutally aggressive, and their bite injects a poison potent enough to paralyze large bird Pokémon that try to prey on it.”

44. Venipede

After having my Pokémon healed, I returned to Palais Lane, and found another trainer to battle. This trainer had a Pokémon I haven’t seen before!

“Espurr, the Restraint Pokémon. Espurr have enough psychic energy to blast everything within 300 feet, but they have no control over their power. The organ that emits this intense power is sheltered by their ears to keep power from leaking out.”

I then returned to the Pokémon Center again, and once again I was ambushed from the bushes. This time, it was an Audino that jumped out at me!

“Audino, the Hearing Pokémon. Audino touch others with the feelers on their ears, using the sound of their heartbeats to tell how they are feeling. They can also sense when an egg might hatch in this manner.”

Back at the Pokémon Center, I rested my Pokémon, and decided to rotate a few. I left Doduo, Plusle, Minun, and Gulpin in Camphrier Town, and took Abra and Venipede with me. Even though that means I only have four Pokémon, I figure the last two spots will soon be filled with Pokémon I find on Route 6.

I made one more trip to Palais Lane for the night. The first Pokémon I ran into was an Espurr! Pichu’s ability of Static caused it to get paralyzed, and then I was able to catch it.

45. Espurr

A few minutes later, I found another Pokémon, although it seemed to be blending in to the grass. I scanned it with my Pokédex… oh! It’s a Kecleon! I haven’t seen one of those for nearly a decade, way back in Hoenn! I had my Scraggy Headbutt it a few times, and then I tossed a Poké Ball and caught it!

“Kecleon, the Color Swap Pokémon. Kecleon change their shading to match their surroundings so they can sneak up on prey. Only their belly patterns stay fixed.”

46. Kecleon

That’s it for tonight. I returned to Camphrier Town, dropped off Scraggy, keeping Abra and my recently obtained Pokémon with me, and then went to sleep.

The next morning, I went back out to Palais Lane to see what else I could find. The first thing I found was somewhat unusual. Lying on the ground was an ornate sheathed sword. I wonder if it is some antique sword from Parfum Palace? When I went to pick it up, the sword… unsheathed itself! Wait, can this be a Pokémon? It is! Another new Pokémon discovered, and caught!

“Honedge, the Sword Pokémon. Honedge are thought to be born when a departed spirit inhabits a sword. If anyone dares to grab their hilts, they wrap blue cloth around that person’s arm and drain that person’s life energy completely.”

47. Honedge

A few minutes later, I found an Oddish of my own to catch!

48. Oddish

Later that afternoon, I caught a Sentret to add to the group. Then I found another Espurr, except this one was female. I’ve heard that males and females evolve differently, so I caught it, and got lucky with a critical capture. I got an added bonus for catching it, because my Abra evolved into a Kadabra immediately after!

49. Sentret

50. Kadabra

Back in Camphrier Town, I gave Pichu, Kadabra, and Venipede a break, and took my newly captured Oddish, Sentret, and Espurr with me. When I glanced at the two Espurr on my team, I noticed the odd stare they both had. It was like they were looking into my soul. Creepy.

I caught a second Oddish back on Palais Lane, and completed my exploration of the left side of the path. Tonight, I’ll explore the right side.

I checked on the Berry Field, and found a group of bug Pokémon eating the berry sprouts! I battled off most of them, but found two among them that I haven’t seen yet in Kalos! Some Volbeat and Illumise were among the bug-types there, and I managed to catch one of each.

“Volbeat, the Firefly Pokémon. Volbeat live around clean ponds. At night, their rear lights up. They converse with others by flashing these lights. They love Illumise’s sweet aroma.”

“Illumise, the Firefly Pokémon. Illumise guide Volbeat to draw signs with light in the night sky, using their sweet aroma. Together they draw over 200 patterns in the night sky.”

51. Volbeat

52. Illumise

I did some searching along the main path of Palais Lane for an Audino to catch. After a few dozen Venipede, I finally caught an Audino.

53. Audino

Nothing too exciting happened today, I battled some trainers on Route 14 and met up with my crew excluding Serena to check out this rumoured haunted house. It wasn't haunted, there wasn't any point going inside because the man told a disappointing ghost story and it cost me http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/8/8c/Pok%C3%A9monDollar.png1000!!
I arrived at Laverre City and headed straight for the boutique and decided to buy everything they had on sale, after putting on my new gear and teaching some of my Pokémon a Pledge move, I went inside the Gym and fought the trainers, finally reaching Valarie, the Gym Leader.
Asking Charizard to Mega Evolve on the first turn and use his newly taught move, her Mawile fainted in one. Next up was her Mr. Mime, she didn't stand a chance against my Nidoking and last was her Sylveon, I fell in love with seeing this Pokémon and instantly wanted one but I'm getting ahead of myself.. another Poison Jab from Nidoking and the match was over. Valarie gave me TM99 Dazzling Gleam which turns out is a good Fairy type move and of course the Fairy Badge, that's number six!
I left the Gym and met a few of my friends and they told me we're going on a tour of the Pokéball Factory, awesome!
Before heading North, I took my Eevee from the PC and played with it a little, even feeding him. I went back into Route 14 for him to gain an easy level and he soon evolved into a Sylveon.
I'm now sat in Laverre City Pokémon Center petting my new Sylveon and writing this, it's a little hard to do both at the same time...

I think it’s amazing at how many Pokémon I’ve caught so far. I have one badge. In comparison, I had about seven badges when I had this many Pokémon in Unova! I guess it just goes to show the diversity of Pokémon that can be found here in Kalos.

I trained all my recently caught Pokémon, and then decided to start a new rotation of my 50 or so Pokémon that I have. First up will be Volbeat, Butterfree, Riolu, Litleo, and Ledyba, leaving a spot in case I come across a new Pokémon to catch. So it’s time to go out yet again to Palais Lane to explore more of the right side of the path. I soon found another Pokémon I haven’t come across in a few years: a Nincada! I caught it with a little help from Butterfree’s Sleep Powder. It will be the sixth member of my current team, which I’m suddenly realizing is very bug-type dominant.

“Nincada, the Trainee Pokémon. Nincada can sometimes live underground for more than 10 years. Because of this, they are nearly blind. They use their antennae instead. They absorb nutrients from the roots of trees.”

54. Nincada

I battled a few more trainers in the area, and one of them had a Croagunk!

“Croagunk, the Toxic Mouth Pokémon. Croagunk have poison sacs in their cheeks. Inflating these sacs, they fill the area with an odd sound and hits flinching opponents with a poison jab.”

Then I decided to check out Parfum Palace with Shauna. After paying a ridiculous entrance fee, we went into the palace. Once inside, we found the owner frantically running around looking for something. Apparently, he lost his Furfrou. Shauna and I figured we would help the guy out, so we searched the mansion. It was pretty impressive and elegant; there were many relics and paintings alluding to the fact that there was a war between Kalos and neighboring regions thousands of years ago. When I reached the balcony, I looked out over the courtyard behind the palace. I was shocked to see two very familiar statues at opposite ends of the courtyard. Reshiram and Zekrom! Why would there be statues of the legendary dragon Pokémon of the Unova region here in Kalos? Was the war with them? I decided to go back downstairs and have a closer look at the courtyard.

When I stepped outside, I saw another statue, presumably to one of the heroes of the war, and very likely the ancient king of this palace. The statue depicted him with a Golurk, holding an Eevee, and a Palpitoad at his feet. This is quite the fancy backyard, I have to say. And there were tons more hedge mazes back here, too. It was in one of those hedge mazes, or geometric gardens, as one of the groundskeepers told me, that Shauna and I found the owner’s Furfrou. He was so thankful that he rewarded us with a firework show. We also took the opportunity to ask for the Poké Flute to wake up the sleeping Snorlax on Rivière Walk. He gave it to us, but made it clear that we were only borrowing it, and that he wanted it back. He comes across as a very greedy fellow.

After stopping by the Berry Fields and discovering some interesting berry mutations that grew some Qualot Berries on my Oran and Pecha Berry trees, Shauna and I went out to the sleeping Snorlax on Rivière Walk with the residents of Camphrier Town. We gave the Poké Flute to one of them, and they started to play it. The Snorlax woke up, and headed off into the hills. The owner of Parfum Palace showed up too, and said that the Poké Flute could remain in Camphrier Town in case it’s needed again.

“Snorlax, the Sleeping Pokémon. Snorlax are not satisfied unless they eat over 880 pounds of food every day. Their stomachs can digest any kind of food, even the food happens to be moldy or rotten. When they are done eating, they go promptly to sleep.”

I crossed the bridge and finally arrived at the Pokémon Day Care. Trevor and Tierno were there, but no Calem. I turned the Charmander over to the owners, and they had a set of six eggs for me! Since I had six Pokémon with me, I’ll have to rotate them in as I train on Rivière Walk.

Later that evening, I was walking near some flowers on the path near the river when I saw a new Pokémon! It was a tiny, flying, pink Pokémon with a small beak. I checked it out in the Pokédex, and apparently it’s one of the new fairy-type Pokémon in the Kalos region. I had Volbeat use Tackle a few times, then followed up with Butterfree’s Sleep Powder, and was able to catch it!

“Spritzee, the Perfume Pokémon. Spritzee emit a scent that enraptures those who smell it. The fragrance changes depending on what it has eaten. In the past, rather than using perfume, royal ladies carried one of these Pokémon that would waft a fragrance they liked.”

55. Spritzee

Shortly after that, I came across a horde of tiny Pokémon. These are familiar to me, though I haven’t trained one in a while. It was a horde of Hoppip! I picked one out and caught it.

“Hoppip, the Cottonweed Pokémon. Hoppip drift on winds. Their bodies are so light, they must grip the ground firmly with their feet to keep from being blown away. It is said that when they gather in fields and mountains, spring is on the way.”

56. Hoppip

My next find was a Pokémon familiar to me from my recent travels in Unova, a Ducklett! I caught it with a critical capture!

“Ducklett, the Water Bird Pokémon. Ducklett are better at swimming than flying, and they happily eat their favorite food, peat moss, as they dive underwater. When attacked, they use their feathers to splash water, escaping under cover of the spray.”

57. Ducklett

Then, I found a Smeargle! I don’t think I ever had the opportunity to train one of those, since I never completed my Johto journey. It took about a dozen Poké Balls, and it Sketched my Butterfree’s Sleep Powder during the battle, but I finally managed to catch it.

“Smeargle, the Painter Pokémon. Smeargle mark their territories by using their tails like paintbrushes. There are more than 5,000 different marks. Once they become adults, they have a tendency to let their comrades plant footprints on their backs.”

58. Smeargle

I returned to the Day Care and took all six eggs from the Day Care couple. They hatched into the starter Pokémon from Kalos and Kanto! I haven’t seen a Fennekin yet, so I scanned it with my Pokédex.

“Fennekin, the Fox Pokémon. Fennekin munch on twigs in place of snacks. They intimidate opponents by puffing hot air out of their ears. This air can be hotter than 390 degrees Fahrenheit.”

59. Fennekin

60. Froakie

61. Bulbasaur

62. Squirlte

So I decided to keep Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle with me as my team and train them for a bit. I’m excited to see what the new Kalos starter Pokémon are like!

Out of curiousity, since when has it been allowed to roleplay through your game experiences in this thread or has it always been like that? :D Not that it would bother me at anyway, just hasn't noticed it before.

Anyhow, I finished my X-version like two months ago or so, don't really remember how long it has been. Ever since I've been trying to EV train my Pokémon and I'm more than happy how my Volcarona turned out. I'm not the best trainer in the world but practise makes better.

I also finally managed to chain my first shiny Pokémon ever and I was so excited that can't really even describe the feeling. It was black Furfrou and it looks so adorable. Now I try to get shiny Pancham, Skiddo and second Furfrou to accompany the first one.

Furfrou ftw!

I also bought Y-version yesterday so I could get Yveltal and other missing Pokémon too. Plus I want those missing Mega Stones also that X-version didn't have. Decided to go with girl and named her Lena because I've noticed that boys don't have that much option when it comes to personalizing and adjusting the main character.

While here I'm also trying to get Charmander with Solar Power for my Drought-team. :3 Yay, so much new to share once again.
