PX: Team Flare

Was I just me or was team flare like a total joke? I found them to by ridiculously easy to beat.

HairyLoco October 20th, 2013 5:01 PM

It's not like they were any easier individually, but as a Team, yes, they were indeed quite easy to beat.
I think they should have had more appearances.

I agree with that. Like on top of being easier, there just really weren't too many encounters with them.

Starlight Sprite October 20th, 2013 5:16 PM

I found Team Flare to be rather weak overall Their plot is menacing enough, but their various appearances seems so disconnected from each other that they hardly seem like a threat until near the end of the game. I won't spoil anything, but I will say there's an interesting little twist about them in the postgame. As far as the battles go, they were somewhat of a pushover, with the exception of the final fight with Lysandre Mega Gyrados took out two of my Pokemon before I stopped it.

Crystalanachrony October 20th, 2013 5:58 PM

To be honest with you, until the Admins came into the picture, I got the impression that there were only two or three Grunts in the entire team, and even after the Admins arrived that impression never really went away. They were definitely not developed as well as Galactic or Plasma were, which is disappointing, because these people were supposed to be the successors... but oh well.

Nick October 20th, 2013 6:22 PM

Yeah, they were definitely easier to beat. Hell, the game as a whole was easier to beat. Even without Mega Evolutions on my team and ditching my starters, I found getting through the game to be a walk in the park.

Faye Rose~ October 20th, 2013 6:33 PM

It wasn't just Team Flare it was the entire game. The new Exp Share was overpowered and made the game too easy.

Aeroblast October 20th, 2013 6:57 PM

^I agree, There was a distinct lack of balance between enemy Pokemon levels and mine due to Exp All.

metalhand October 20th, 2013 8:30 PM

I don't think they were any easier than other teams, all the villians teams always were easy to beat, even team plasma when they were using legendary pokemons and full six pokemon teams.

Iceshadow3317 October 20th, 2013 8:32 PM

They didn't seem any different than other teams. Well... until I met Lysadre's Gyarados.... now that took out half my team, but I still beat him.

Turn the EXP Share off and you will find it longer and slightly harder.

Just gonna throw this here..

Idk, they didn't seem any easier than really any of the other teams. But maybe that's because Cyrus's Crobat flinching every attack just seems ridiculously overpowered.

I heard before the theory that Malva was a team flare member, I didn't took it seriously, now it seems that this actually true. It would be cool if she re-establish team flare in the third game/sequels.

I can't remember if she mentions something about you taking down Flare when you first meet at the entrance of the E4, but she does seem to hate you for some reason.

Yes, she does call us the hero who defeated team flare, but the word hero is writen in quatation marks, which seems weird.

ramyettie October 21st, 2013 12:04 AM

Well as a Team Flare grunt told me "We put the fashion into fear!"
Jokes aside as a unit they where pretty easy to beat.

Shiny6 October 21st, 2013 4:30 AM

they were a joke way too easy!

Red Viper October 21st, 2013 5:02 AM

It was definitely easy, but then again... I never had problems with the evil teams. So I don't necessarily think that Team Flare was easier but definitely not harder too.

Spoiler:
Malva is an ex-member of Team Flare. She confirms this in the Looker sidequests at the end of the game.

Shows me how much I need to complete post-game haha.

Exitosus October 21st, 2013 6:25 AM

the whole game was a joke if you want to talk about Difficulty

WingedDragon October 21st, 2013 6:39 AM

They didnt have the standard 3-4 pokes that the "Admins" would normally have. Also I think that exp. Share boosting everyone 50% regardless helped as well

I agree...it was too easy...due to the exp.Share...
I even defeated the E4 and Champion without losing once >_<...I hope they change it back to the way it was in Gen's 2-5 for Z and RS remakes (if any of those things happen).

Crystalanachrony October 21st, 2013 8:53 AM

Haha, I never actually beat the Pokémon League in any game until Unova, so I don't know whether I want it to go back to being harder or not... I think Sinnoh was the best, where it wasn't unreasonably hard, but you still needed to put in strategy to win.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire October 21st, 2013 9:11 AM

Cynthia's still the hardest female champion...Iris was somewhat difficult...and Diantha is a little hard but easy at the same time...

Crystalanachrony October 21st, 2013 9:26 AM

Yeah, I never quite got past Cynthia until I bit the bullet and Rare Candied my Pokémon up to level 60, haha. Diantha was only difficult when her Gardevoir came out.
