Favourite Pokémon.... :>
Which Pokémon did you find the most awesome in Gen IV? Did you find you started liking it because of it's sprite? Did you start liking it because of it's design? Post below! <3~
___________________________________________________________________ My favourite Pokémon would have to be Riolu. It looks plain awesome first of all. It's colouring scheme is great, and it's shiny colouring scheme is gold! Now that's really cool. It's typing was really beneficial sometimes, but it's evolution is weak against one of it's own types, which was a letdown. Finding out you can get it in D/P/Pt in the story was amazing, but it was hard-work training it to the current level team. What about you? Post below! :> |
Arceus, he is the awesomest.
Of all fourth-generation Pokémon, my favorite would have to be Cherrim. It's such a cutie, and always brightens up my mood very time I see its sweet-looking smile. The coolest thing about this Pokémon is that it opens and closes itself depending on what time of day it is, just like a real flower. If it's nighttime, then it'd close itself; regardless of what you did, it would refuse to reveal its face. And if it's daytime, then it would show its true form and do all sorts of activities with you.
I'm also a big fan of Garchomp. Its design is quite fierce, and when it comes to battling, it's able to perform pretty nicely. It's got gigantic Attack and Speed stats, and with only one boost from either Dragon Dance or Swords Dance, it would immediately start causing destruction. d: This Pokémon could take down your opponent's entire team single-handedly. |
I think I'm going to say Togekiss. I'm really loving it right now, even though I didn't so much in the past. I love it's coloration, honestly I think the thing I used to dislike most about it was how big it is, I would prefer it stay 2ish feet. But it's alright, I've grown to appreciate it. It's cute and powerful.
There were many Pokemon I appreciated in fourth gen, mostly evolutions to Pooemon from previous gens. Ambipom, Mismagius, Honchkrow, Gliscor.. Those are all great evolutions. I also like some of the originals from this gen .. Cherrim, Garchomp, Luxray, Leafeon and Glaceon! |
Garchomp and Glaceon, because my two favourite Gen IV trainers use them.
Aside the legendary, probably electivire & gallade.
Quote:
I also like all the starters of Sinnoh, all of the have well balanced stats and good offenses for an in-game playthrough. Lucario is also one of my favourite. And its aura sphere is a great special fighting move. But I really like rhyperior, though it has 2 massive common weaknesses, but it learns 5-6 100+ base power moves by level up. Combine it with its 140 attack. A good trick room sweeper. |
Electavire is my fave in gen 4. Electabuzz has always been one of my fave gen 1 pokemon. I was so excited when I first saw elekid and then again that excitement wasfelt when I first saw Electavire.
Arceus all the way baby!
Oh and the first pokemon I EV trained was Porygon-Z... Haha I have a photo somewhere of where it gained 42 special attack in 1 level up because I kept knocking off lv. 2 ghost pokemon in the bell tower when the Porygon was at level 60 haha |
Wow, there are so many great Pokemon a part of the Fourth Gen bunch so it's really hard to pick just one favourite. Regardless, here are some of my personal favourites:
My favourite would probably be Rotom. Why I like a bunch of pixels over 100 others is pretty hard to explain in words, but I'll try my best. When I first encountered Rotom, I practically jumped out of my seat. I had gotten a guide for the game before but obviously hadn't read too far in. It just so happened that I walked into the Old Chateau at night and tried to talk to a TV set. Something like that. At first it seemed like some sort of rare glitch and at one point I even considered it as a legendary Pokemon. Nevertheless I didn't see the harm in catching one, so I took it for myself.
I've never actually used it but that's something I plan on changing soon. It has a typing you don't see everyday, a cute design and some of the best moves you could ask for. Not enough? It can turn into a microwave, bungee jump out of TVs and can't be tackled. Enough said. Some of my other favourites would be Yanmega, Porygon-Z, Abomasnow, Drifloon, Empoleon and Azelf. Mainly because of design, having used one or something like that. |
I liked Garchomp, Gallade, Lucario, and Electivire. I've used all four of them across my teams.
Togekiss all the way. It looks graceful, and the design of Togekiss really showed it off.
My favourite would probably be Chatot. I like it's design, but the main reason I think is it's role in Mystery Dungeon (2). Although I've never used it in a team before.
I also like most of the new evolutions, bar Lickylicky and Tangrowth. Lucario was pretty cool too ^_^ |
lucario is definitely my favorite 4th gen pokemon. partly because i'm in love with riley LOL
Only 413 Pokemon I love from 4th generation.
Buizel & Floatzel will forever remain as my top Sinnoh Pokemon, for me, none of the others even come close. I like water-type Pokemon, and I love otters, that's the main reasoning I need for them. Floatzel is my 3rd favorite Pokemon of all Pokemon to exist. Along the way I'm starting to love Riolu and Lucario. I also like fighting types, and starting to like it's design, and I think it looks awesome. edited: I forgot about some of the others one I also loved so 4 is incorrect I also forgot about my love of cats - so Glameow, Purugly, Shinx, Luxio, and Luxray can't be out I"m also loving Stunky & Skuntank and also like Pachirisu, Glaceon, & Leafeon. |
I like Shellos,Pachirisu,Buizel and Lucario from the shinoh dex.
All 4th generation is great, but the best pokemons for me is:
- Starraptor ( the best flying type pokemon ever! ^^ ) - Empoleon ( Empoleon/Samurott the best water evolutions from starter ) - Infernape ( the best fire pokemon for me ) - Mamoswine ( looks sweet ^^ ) |
I'd probably have to say Gallade, mainly because I really love his design.
Staraptor has to be the best 4th gen pokemon I've ever had. Roserade comes in a close second, because of my love for most Grass types.
i love LOTS of Gen IV pokémon! , but to mention a few,
Lucario Riolu Gallade Magmortar Electivire Garchomp (and for some reason) Porygon-Z |
It's really difficult for me to pick one favorite. I love a handful of legendaries, like Cresselia, Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus. I appreciate Gliscor, Honchkrow, Togekiss, and Yanmega for providing much needed evolutions to some of the coolest 2nd generation Pokemon. I quite like Staraptor, Luxray, and Lumineon for their cries as well.
Togekiss is my absolute 4th Gen fave for same reasons as stated by Windy. But again, Staraptor is also a close fave of mine due to being so powerful for an early bird. Ambipom and Chimchar line also get notable mentions because I love monkeys (hence why I pick Chimchar in most of my playthroughs) but I love Piplup line as well. Pachirisu, Happiny, Buneary and Stunky are also among my fave cuties from Sinnoh. And who can't forget that badassery known as Lucario? Yeah he's one of my loves too.
It wouldn't be fair to say Lucario since it's my favorite Pokemon, so I'll go with either Drifblim since it's so adorable or Empoleon since Piplup was my starter in my first Fourth Generation game, Pokemon Diamond. I always thought Empoleon was the coolest second stage evolution in the Fourth Generation and I still stand by it. Also, Water/Steel is a rad type, yo.
Glaceon,pretty pretty cute...<3
Most of my favorite 4th gen Pokemon were actually just evolutions of those from a previous generation (Mismagius, Weavile, Togekiss, Porygon-Z and Froslass), but I did enjoy Rotom, Drifblim, Lucario and Empoleon as well.
Actually the more I think about it, I realized that I've used 8 out of 9 of those Pokemon in either the fifth or sixth gen games, which surprises me a bit. The only one I haven't used beyond Platinum is Empoleon, and that's because I'm not a fan of moving my starter Pokemon from their original game unless I'm restarting. |
I used to like Turtwig when I played.
Quote:
believe everyone knows my answer. |
Infernape. For its badass design and the fact that it's based off the legend of Son Goku which inspired my favorite Shounen/Anime/Manga ever, Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z!
Rotom. It's just...unique. It possesses household appliances, and turns them all crazy xD (proof in the anime, if I remember).
I also liked Torterra, Garchomp and Gastrodon. All pretty awesome Ground-types, with the last one being cute, too. The first 2 are phenomenal physical attackers, while Gastro is bulky and can absorb water moves. |
My favorite 4th generation Pokémon is Shaymin.
I love how Shaymin changes he's form into ground or flying. Shaymin is cute and he look like an deer when in flying form and he looks like a headhog when it is in he's ground form. |
Quote:
Scizor, I never used him before and then I decided on my first playthrough of HG I would use a 3-mon team of Espeon, Umbreon, and Scizor... I had no idea about technician before using it and I must say Bullet Punch alone destroyed whatever I needed it too.
I loved most of the cross-generation evolutions that Generation IV introduced, particularly Mismagius, Froslass, Roserade, Honchkrow & Yanmega.
I could make a full list, but it would probably end up being almost the entire generation. As others have said, I also liked many of the new evolutions to old pokémon introduced, such as Magnezone and Porygon-Z. My most favorite from this generation is Toxicroak, followed by Garchomp. But again, I liked many MANY from this gen.
Arceus. I have my reasons. Now shut up.
EVERY SINGLE POKEMON IS MY FAVORITE. well i like all the Pokemon but I like Dialgia the most cause it has a unique history and a unique shape and design. It can control the time. Its too different.
Probably Budew, Roserade, ore Honchcrow. I can't decide.
I like all Pokemon, they're all my favorites.
Perhaps Togekiss. Out of all the pokemon who received a sinnoh evolution, Togetic was the most deserving of one. It wasn't just its strenght being underwhelming; it's small size--and even its name ("Togechick") implies that it was never fully grown up.
Togekiss got Aura Sphere, which really gave it amazing coverage. Togetic's entries mention how it appears before kindhearted people, as if it could sense their auras, so it even makes sense. Its design is based off of a dove, a bird representing peace, which didn't have any pokemon based off of it at the same. Everything about Togekiss just tied-in with each other soooooo well. |
Infernape and Staraptor man! They are pretty cooooolll and i love them! first two pokemon whom i used the most playing Diamond First Time!
Staraptor, an early Normal/Flying type that's actually good. I suppose Swellow isn't bad by any means, but a decent Fighting move to hit Rock and Steels with puts Staraptor way ahead of the others.
Gastrodon, mainly because of how good it is for online battles. Good type combo, Good HP and defensive stats, immunity to Water/Electric and Toxic/Recover makes it really hard to bring down. |
Weavile is my favourite gen 4 Pokemon. He's the fastest Dark-type in the game, has access to good moves like Swords Dance, Night Slash and Ice Punch and tbh it's one of the coolest-looking Pokemon of all time. If it wasn't for my Weavile, it would have been extremely hard for me to get rid of Cynthia's stupid garchomp (I'm not capping it because it was uber at the time I beat her). Then I found out Weavile was excellent competitively as well(and underrated), with access to Pursuit, Low Kick and Ice Shard to give it a niche as a trapper and dragon slayer all in one (that was back in Gen 5). Gen 6 gave Weavile Icicle Crash and Knock Off, which finally means Weavile is no longer as predictable as it was, as well as giving it stronger STAB moves.
My favorites are the Luxray and Magmortar.
I like Magmortar because he looks like this big tank who just douses everything in lava. Luxray because its an electric cat, an opposite to one of my favorite Pokemon, Manetric. |
Weavile or Monferno, I think. Weavile is the evo of one of my favorite pokemon, looks cool and has an interesting dual typing. Monferno is probably the fire/fighter starter I like most, together with Infernape (and Blaziken), because of it's cute monkey looks and also fire types usually interest me in general.
Mothim, Cherrim, Pachirisu, Ambipom, Honchkrow, Glaceon, Leafeon, and Shaymin. Just can't say no to these cuties. :)
Cherrim is especially cute but I so wish it didn't require sunny weather for it to open up the flower. Weavile is cool too but I'm more for cute than anything! I have a soft spot for the smaller Pokemon so these really stick out with the occasional cool 'mon that catches my eye (Honchrow, Ambipom). |
I love arceus :) and glaceon
My favourite Gen 4 Pokemon are Infernape, Empoleon, Lucario, Garchomp, Staraptor, Luxray, Roserade, Weavile, Magnezone, Tangrowth, Togekiss, Gliscor, Gallade, Froslass, Drapion, and Heatran.
Lucario is my favorite Pokémon overall. It's design is awesome and it has cool dex entries, and a good story in the anime movie, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. I also like Leafeon and Glaceon, and Luxray is another one of my favorites.
I like Luxray, it has a decent design and a good moveset. It also is avalible in at start of the game so its convenient. Every time i start a new save i catch a shinx just for those reasons
So, so many... Gen IV ironically introduced a lot of Pokemon that became my favourites of their respective types.
If I had to pick just one, I'd have to go with Floatzel. It's design is just amazing- it really looks streamlined and swift, and its stats match that very well. I always tend to catch a Buizel when I'm out by the Valley Windworks, just for that~ A few others I really like are Rampardos, Roserade, Luxray and Skuntank. |
Toxicroak and Drapion are my two favorite things from GenIV. It was a good time to be a poison-type fan when those two were introduced. ^_^
Gen IV is my least favorite in terms of Pokemon, honestly. Not saying they're terrible, but there aren't a lot of Pokemon I immediately fell in love with like I did with generations before and after, so it's difficult to pick a favorite. I'd probably say Togekiss is my favorite. It's cute and fat and fluffy and has wings and it's a great Pokemon in general. I used to not think much of it, especially when it was revealed. I thought it was awful looking. I found a plushie one though and my dad bought it for me, and it's really soft and squishy and it grew on me. :( The effect of plushies, I'm tellin' ya.
Honorable mentions to Rotom, Luxray, Empoleon, Cherrim, Glaceon, and Porygon-Z. |
I would have to go with Dialga and Lucario were my favorites out of the fourth generation.
Empoleon. He is my favorite pokemon ever.
Gotta go with 4th Gens Pseudo legendary Garchomp. I love powerful Pokemon.
http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm158/cutebuneary/Pokemon/Pachirisu/Pachirisu-1.gif
... do I really need to say more? :D |
Absolutely Garchomp! Hands down.
Luxray for sure! He is my favorite of all time!
Floatzel is not just my favorite Gen 4 Pokemon, but my all-time favorite. It has a really cool design and a lot of good moves and stats. It also reminds me a lot of myself in a way. Every time I play a game and I encounter a Buizel, I will always catch it, and I usually don't use other water types (even if my starter was a water type) unless I'm playing a game before Gen 4 or Floatzel isn't available.
I also like Lucario probably just as much as other people do, but I like Floatzel more myself. |
I can't really decide on one, so I'll just pick a random Pokemon from Generation 4 that I like!
Lucario has to be my favorite Pokemon from Generation 4. It has a nice design, reminds me of some Egyptian thing. The colors are really good on it, it has a nice mix to it. It's a Fighting/Steel type, which is actually something that you don't see everyday. If my memory serves me correct, I think that Lucario is the only Fighting/Steel type Pokemon, which is what makes it unique. Also, both it's Attack and Special Attack stats are pretty decent. I'm surprised to see a Fighting Type have a better Special Attack than it's normal Attack stat. The speed is fine, I can work with it. I couldn't care less about the both Defense stats or HP. Later on in Generation 6, it gets a really awesome Mega Evolution. What's not to love about this Pokemon? That's in my opinion at least. |
I can barely keep track of what's from what gen and whatnot, but.... I like Lucario, the Shinx line, Vespiqueen, Glaceon, and the Piplup line! x3
Lucario and Luxuray where part of my main team in Pearl, so, I'm attached to those Pokemon! x3 Oh yeah, and Shaymin! It's a cute little green hedgie, and as you can guess, I LOVE hedgehogs! x3 Also, Manaphy. It's just.. cute. and squishy. And a total beast in a fight. I think I used mine to beat the e4 at one point. Oooh, why must Gen 4 have such cute legendaries!? XD |
I think mine has to be Mamoswine. It looks pretty boss, its cry is awesome, and gets a whopping Attack stat to utilize. Also made Piloswine worth something, so yeah. It got Icicle Crash in Gen V, and a nice Hidden Ability. And it's always done me good in the Platinum and HGSS playthroughs i've used it in. So yeah, Mamoswine is definitely my favorite one introduced here.
But honestly, other than some of the new evolutions, there aren't many new Pokémon here i'm really fond of. I do like Torterra, Porygon-Z, Roserade, Staraptor and I guess Spiritomb is neat. |
y'know before i would have EASILY said 'oh mine is umm, Dialga! or uh... Garchomp, hmm Porygon-Z? yep that's it...' but now i reallllllllllllly like Togekiss, i know i LOVE Dark types, but as Togekiss is now fairy type in Gen VI, it gives my team pretty good coverage ^_^
See my username! If you haven't guessed, I love Buizel and Floatzel. ^-^ Buuuut, that's not all! Gen 4 actually introduced a bunch of my faves, including Turtwig, Torterra, the Shinx family, Drifloon family, Riolu family, Cranidos, Glaceon (my favorite Eeveelution, by the way), Leafeon, Rotom (especially Mow), Shaymin (especially Sky Forme), and maybe some others I can't think of right now. :)
There are heaps of Pokemon, but I just have to say Infernape because it was the very first Pokemon I ever got (I called it Chimpy, still don't know why but it stuck). I also quite like Dialga and Giratina.
Togekiss is sooo beautiful and cute :$$$" http://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen5/blackwhite_animated_front/468.gif |
I really like Luxray. Good in battle, awesome design and finally a feline-like Pokemon that wasn't (meant to be) evil/lame/weak.
I don't have much knowledge on Gen 4 since I stopped playing the game after Gen 3 and started up again with Gen 5. But looking through my Pokedex guide I do like Lucario and most of the legendary pokemon including Darkrai, Shaymin and Cresselia.
Overall it's probably my least favorite generation though based on pokemon alone. |
I'm not sure, but it's a tie between Ambipom and Weavile and Floatzel at a close third. I use Ambipom and Weavile in my current competitive team, and Floatzel sometimes. They're super cool and just plain badass that every time I play a hack or Pokemon game I haven't played before I ALWAYS look for an Aipom or Sneasel. Luxray, Roserade, and Mismagius are pretty cool too :)
I have few favourites - but Riolu and Lucario were my favourite from the beginning! I love their design, what they are based off and Lucario's typing is really awesome too!
I also like Glaceon because of it's design and Torterra because of his typing - I also liked Staraptor because of it's movepool and Togekiss because of it's design, ability and movepool :) |
It's impossible for me to just pick one.
My favorites are (in no particular order) Palkia, Luxray, Drapion, Porygon-Z and Floatzel. I love their designs and they've all been very useful when I've used them in battles. |
When it comes to the fourth gen Pokemon, here is the list of my favorites:
Empoleon Staraptor Luxray Rampardos Floatzel Gastrodon Lopunny Skuntank Garchomp Toxicroak Carnivine Abomasnow Glaceon Mamoswine Rotom Dialga Regigigas Giratina Darkrai |
Hippowdon, The design the mvoe's he got.
Really Like him! :D |
I would have to go with Toxicroak and Drapion!! Also, i liked a lot of the new introduced evos, especially Mamoswine, Electivire and Gallade
As for favorite Legendary, probably Darkrai for being the Nightmare Pokemon |
Porygon-Z. Like the idea that ya upgrade him lol.
I love a ton of 4th Gen Pokemon, (Basically all the evolutions of older-gen Pokemon) but I love Electivire, Mamoswine, Gliscor, Garchomp and Honchkrow the most, I think. Electivire is like my favorite Pokemon of all time with a few others.
my absolute favorite pokemon comes from 4th gen, but it so obvious i won't bother mentioning it (hint: sig + avatar= ?)
other then that, i really like mismagius because she is designed so awesomely and her cry is the best. |
I personally liked Bronzong a great deal, though I think Abamasnow ties with it. Overall though, I'd have to say Shinx and it's evo's are my most favorite. Electric lions just can't be beat~
All the Legendaries and Roserade
Infernape (how cool is he?), Electivire, Gliscor, Garchomp, Luxray (its design is the best! Super saiyan pokemon lmao)
And my all time favorite bird pokemon emo Staraptor. |
Glaceon and Infernape. I don't know why but their designs really caught my eye. Plus the variety of ways you can train and raise an infernape really added to my enjoyment of them
porygon-z. my #1 favorite pokemon. also I really like infernape, staraptor, and especially luxray.
Yanmega did it for me. It's just so badass! I also had an obsession with Yanma when I was a child (Never could find the thing!), so seeing it get an evolution that I think makes it look a lot like Megaguirus was totally up my alley. B)
Well, my favorite would be Magnezone. It is my favorite Pokemon overall as well. I used to like Garchomp, but then it got overused ;-;. Staraptor, I found, was a lttle too weak for my use, and I would always have to rely on Togekiss.
Quote:
Weavile looks like an ice ninja. That's a definite yeeeeessss from me.
Toxicroak looks like a poison ninja. Read above. Lucario looks li---I'm done with the ninja thing. It's just an amazing Pokemon that looks like Anubis, is a good fighter, and got even better treatment through Mega Evolutions. The fanbase of Lucario roared the day its mega was announced. Porygon-Z with Adaptability. 2x STAB Hyper Beam with Choice Specs. Ouch. It has an awesome design, being Pokemon's version of Rayman :p No limbs, no problem. Honchkrow. Swagging hat it's got there. It looks like what its Pokedex and name describes it as; the head honcho. The leader. But seriously, that hat. omigash. |
I didn't get into 4th gen til Platinum came out, so I really wasn't familiar with most of the new Pokemon. I'd been hearing about how awesome and great Pokemon like Infernape, Starraptor, Lucario, and Garchomp were, and I honestly don't care for any of 'em and find them overrated. Lucario seems like everyone's default go-to favorite Pokemon. Ehh. Anyways, I immediately fell in love with Torterra and Luxray because they looked awesome and were really helpful in battle, and same goes for Gastrodon, especially the blue variant!
Generation IV introduced a fair amount of Pokemon I liked. I can't handle Azelf's adorable design, though, gah. n__n; Hate Mesprit and Uxie though, as well as Heatran. Aside from the elf, I really enjoyed using Toxicroak and Luxray.
I'm torn on this one. I want to say Infernape, but I also want to say Abomasnow... Or maybe Lopunny? I realize that poor Lopunny was made into a very... Sexy image in the minds of some STRANGE people, but I quite enjoy raising mine. I can't wait till it learns Heal Wish. Maybe it's an overrated move, maybe it isn't, but I'm definitely excited.
IVth Generation gave us some awesome evolutions of Pokemons from Gen I, II and III.
My Top 6 would be: 1. Lucario 2. Torterra 3. Electivire 4. Gallade 5. Magmortar 6. Weavile Honestly. Gen IV has maybe the most awesome Pokemons of them all. |
Luxray, definitely! I like its design, and he has been a really great Pokemon to use overall. Other favorites include Togekiss, Roserade, Gallade, Leafeon, Glaceon, Porygon-Z, Froslass, Weavile, Gastrodon, Honchkrow, Mismagius, Dialga, Giratina, Darkrai, Shaymin and Arceus. Generation 4 is one of my most favorite generation in terms of Pokemon and their designs, haha.

Definitely this trio right here. I started off thinking they were a little odd looking at first, but then I began to really enjoy their design. Then I started to really enjoy their concept and how amazingly done it was. They're also super freaking cute. <3 |
Infernape for sure, it was my first pokemon after all :) I also adore glaceon and roserade
This girl here is a huge fan of all ice types.
Glaceon and Weavile definitely caught my eye~ Leafeon's design is also utterly adorable! >W< |
