6. Would you like Dragon-Type starters? If yes, which one would you start with?

Why not!? It would be amazing as heck, especially if you started out with stuff like Dratini, Gible and Bagon. I see that as a good choice, since they are fit for starters if GF ever makes a game that has Dragon-Types. Heck, we could even just get 2 starters, like Axew and Deino. Axew's physical, while Deino's final is special. Who's more fitted for the spot!? They might need to lower Hydregion's final evolution's level though. 64!? Naaw way I'm picking a starter that evolves that high. ;-;

Rescue Teams! They are everywhere! If a dragon pokemon was kidnapped, what team of Pokémon would rescue it?

I think 2 Dragonites and a Lucario.
I was kidnapped once, and my rescue team was that, plus a Shiny Riolu.

Hmm...... I've been noticing you a lot and would like to tell you that a Lucario is a Steel/Fighting Pokemon....... It's not quite relevant here....... Please stick to Dragon Pokemon here on........

Hello members, I'm back but unfortunately unable to take back ownership due to personal issues........ Anyways, I've noticed a lot of inactivity here....... A new rule has hence been introduced:

On being Inactive for more than 3 weeks in continuity, the user shall no longer remain a member within the club and their name shall be removed from the member list, unless a valid reason is specified.

On this note, let's have a new topic here:
Dragon type Pokemon are always shown at the end of games as special prizes for the player to catch, have you ever seen Dragon types in the open as common Pokemon?

lucariokul February 28th, 2014 11:40 PM

I did.
Safari Zone had Dratini.
That place in hoenn with the Lunatones had bagon and tm dragon claw.
Goomy and sliggoo is easy to find in X and Y.

I wouldn't call Safari Zone Dratinis common...

But there's also Gibles in Kalos Route 13. They aren't terribly hard to find since there's all of like 3 Pokemon to catch on that route.

Fernbutter March 1st, 2014 9:30 AM

Dragon type Pokemon are always shown at the end of games as special prizes for the player to catch, have you ever seen Dragon types in the open as common Pokemon?

I... I don't believe so. But I do think that I may have actually done so, but just put it off by accident without actually realizing it.
But either way Dragon-type pokemon should stay as rare as they are, so they don't get commonized and Dragon-types would sorta lose their... thing.

Hiatus March 1st, 2014 3:56 PM

Nope, not really. Dragon-types are very rare, so you usually have to go through plenty of trouble to find them. I was once trying to encounter Gible in Platinum, which had taken me thirty minutes straight. That's a lot of time, isn't it? :P

lucariokul March 1st, 2014 4:13 PM

Gible? That is easy to find, especially in X and Y.

Tek March 1st, 2014 6:10 PM

Dragon's are mostly found near the end of the games, but not always. Axew's pretty easy to come across in B/W, halfway through the main story or so. If I remember right, Dratini can be obtained at Celadon Game Corner before the player gets four badges in FR/LG.

Star11Pika March 2nd, 2014 2:15 AM

Wel in XY you can catch Dragon pokemon way easier. But in Platinum I have encountered a lot of Gabites while training in Victory Road.

Tetra March 2nd, 2014 11:00 AM

Dragon type Pokemon are always shown at the end of games as special prizes for the player to catch, have you ever seen Dragon types in the open as common Pokemon?

Yeah, especially in X/Y. On that mountain route next to the breeding place, there was some patches of grass where you could catch Bagon, and maybe even chain for a shiny one. There's also that route where you meet AZ I think, by the Power Plant. There's Gible and Trapinch. They only made the Kalos-native Dragons rare, like Noibat and Noivern. Them two are super hard to get if you don't have a Noibat FS (like me!). I still like how you could get Dratini early on in FR/LG though, but for a VERY high price. I spent all my coins on a Porygon ;-;

Dratini is pretty easy to get in the Safari Zone and you can get it before you get 5 badges, or as YZN said, 4 if you get it at the game corner. Other than that...not really I don't think.

lucariokul March 2nd, 2014 11:42 PM

Does anyone think this club is getting a bit.. silent?

Fernbutter March 3rd, 2014 6:38 AM

Maybe we need a new poll? Something fun to do?
Any thing that doesn't involve waiting things out.

Tek March 3rd, 2014 7:57 AM

How about a popcorn game? Someone names a dragon-type, then another person quotes it and names any move that the pokemon can learn. The next person quotes the move and names a different dragon that also learns the move.

We try to get through all 44 dragons without repeating any. And if more than one person answers, we go with the first one that was posted, which is why you have to quote the post you're responding to.

Not really. Even with XY with Goomy in Route 14 and Axew in Mistralton Cave, they are rare to find. Guess this keeps them special.

Basically what other Pokémon eat, such as nuts, berries, etc. I'd also imagine some to be huge meat-eaters. Few of them include Garchomp, Salamence, Flygon, Rayquaza, and Giratina. :P

I think they'd be carnivorous, I feel like they'd need to primarily eat meat to retain their strength. I suppose there could be herbivorous dragons as well, but for the most part, probably not.

Well food for thought, I think they survive on a strict carnivorous diet consisting of smaller Pokemon and maybe humans, although it is less likely......... How'd you think this one anyways?

Wicked3DS March 4th, 2014 8:14 AM

Good Lord this has become confusing O_O

Tek March 4th, 2014 10:35 AM

Ok so popcorn game example, using Alan, Betty, and Charles as our hypothetical players.

Alan posts:
-----
Dragonite. Popcorn!
-----

Betty posts:
-----
Quote:

Dragonite. Popcorn!
Outrage. Popcorn!
-----

Charles posts:
-----
Quote:

Outrage. Popcorn!
Garchomp. Popcorn!
-----

The next player would quote Charles and post one of Garchomp's moves. I hope that is a bit clearer. I would say that level-up and egg moves are definitely ok, but not TM moves or tutor moves because that would make it a lot less challenging. And once again, if multiple people respond, we will go with the first one that is posted.

I think that covers all the bases, but I'm shooting in the dark a bit haha. I don't even know for sure whether it's possible to get through all 44 dragons with these rules. Welp, let's give it a go! I'll start with:

Vibrava. Popcorn!

Hiatus March 4th, 2014 4:21 PM

So basically, we post a Pokémon, someone responds with a move super-effective against it, and next poster replies with another Pokémon that could learn this move? It's a bit confusing, but sounds fun. I'll give it a try. :]

Dragonbreath. Popcorn!

lucariokul March 4th, 2014 6:10 PM

Dragonite! Unpopped Popcorn, burned to a crisp with a fire punch.

Dragonbreath. Popcorn!

Close, but not quite. After a pokemon is posted, the next post should be a move that the pokemon learns (via level up or egg move). The next post is a different dragon-type pokemon that can also learn the move. Then a move that the second dragon can learn, etc etc.

So vibrava learns Dragonbreath via level up. Dragonbreath is an egg move for Dragonite (assuming it was raised from a Dratini). Next comes a move that Dragonite learns...

Twister. Popcorn scatters everywhere!

wicked3ds posted first, but Dragonite only learns Dragon Claw via TM, so it doesn't count. :(

If it turns out that we get stuck later on, we'll start using TM moves. Remember, the goal is not to repeat any pokemon, but repeat moves are OK.

Wicked3DS March 4th, 2014 8:40 PM

Dangit, I missed that part. Alright, I'll delete mine to avoid confusion.

Lol nope. You name a pokemon OR a move, depending on what was posted previously. So "Salamence" is up in the air and the next popcorn post should be a move that Salamence can learn.

I don't think dragon-types actually have any medicines exclusive to them. xD" To recover themselves, they use what every other Pokémon does, such as Burn Heal, Ice Heal, Potion, Super Potion, Revive, Full Restore, and so on.

Fernbutter March 10th, 2014 6:47 AM

That is sensible enough of you to mention. But giving them the right berry, is the trick to get it right, you might not be able to know what will happen to your pokemon, but you can hope for the best that it actually works properly when it does.

Star11Pika March 10th, 2014 8:28 AM

I don't think they use medicines but about items I can say something. I think the should use a dragon fang or dragon plate or something cause they are exclusive dragon items :).

lucariokul March 10th, 2014 12:35 PM

Actually, my Dragonite friend knows how to make heal powder. Certain Pokémon can also use magicks, so I wont say that they cant use magicks either.

Wicked3DS March 10th, 2014 2:50 PM

What exactly does a Pokémon using magicks look like?

lucariokul March 11th, 2014 9:05 PM

Look at a Lucario using aura, except surrounded by the aura, and actually drawing runes and symbols in the air with a hand, claw, finger, paw or wand in order to create extraordinary effects. That is what magick looks like. In fact, a game called Ni No Kuni actually has REAL spells and their concepts, for some reason. Is someone at Sony a mage perhaps?

I would because there are many places you are able to visit if you fly. I would love to be a Dragonite since it is my fav pokemon but I wouldn't mind waiting till I can fly. It should be a pain though cause wating 2 stages.

Nah March 30th, 2014 4:52 AM

It's kinda obvious which dragon I'd wanna be. Zekrom is the shiznit. And I can still fly via electromagnetism. =p

Fernbutter March 30th, 2014 7:49 AM

I would be anything that isn't the size of a Pikachu.

lucariokul March 30th, 2014 12:13 PM

I ALREADY can become a Dragonite. That's my answer.

Hiatus March 30th, 2014 1:53 PM

Sure, why not? Should be pretty interesting to view the world through the perspective of a dragon. :3 I'd probably choose to be Salamence, as it's powerful enough to fight off foes. Another would be Haxorus.

Wait how come you already can become a Dragonite?

lequinus April 5th, 2014 12:42 AM

I WANNA BE A MIGHTY LATIOS AND FLY EVERYWHERE AND DESTROY THINGS AND DRACO METEOR AND KILL THINGS

sorry for my outburst

Hiatus April 5th, 2014 2:12 PM

Throwing in a new topic, guys! If you were to retype any one Pokémon to dragon, which would it be? Why? What design changes would you make to it?

MAGICKS!!!

As for the new topic.... Absol. Definitely. It needs more love. Ill give it more spikes, longer scythe horn, longer blade tail. Like the mega, but without the wings.

Wicked3DS April 5th, 2014 5:54 PM

Says the Lucario who has it in his sig.

This topic seems awfully familiar :P

Wings are cool, but Absol looks more like Pegasus with them than a dragon.

Actually, I'd like to see Aerodactyl get a full Dragon-type makeover, that would be one cool looking Pokémon.

Also Gyarados and Charizard

Nah April 6th, 2014 3:50 AM

I'd turn Yanmega into a part Dragon Pokemon. Because we all know that should've happened. Maybe if it gets a mega evo...

Dragon_Trainer_ April 6th, 2014 8:34 AM

Hasn't Charizard been discussed too much already....? It has got a dragon type mega evolution. Period.

I'm giving you guys a bold new topic:
Should the mega evolution feature be kept in the next upcoming Pokémon games or should it be removed?

It was a joke, no need to start a fuss.

And no. Not to mention that this topic is severely not a Dragon-type question.

lucariokul April 6th, 2014 12:25 PM

Actually, Absol is based of a wolf. :D

Keep it, of course!!! Megas FTW!!!

Wicked3DS April 6th, 2014 12:28 PM

A wolf? It looks nothing like a wolf to me. Either way, it looks like Pegasus with wings.

EDIT: Definitely not a wolf: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Absol#Origin

Hiatus April 6th, 2014 1:39 PM

That should be kept, but need to try to limit themselves from introducing too many dragon mega-evolutions. I mean, it's not a bad thing, but I just don't want to see them rush. :(

Wicked3DS April 6th, 2014 6:48 PM

I think Dragonite could use one since it's become so outclassed these days by other Dragon-types (or so competitive players say...) but I think that's it. Only cuz it's a Gen I dragon, it should get that privilege since it is THE original.

Out-classed?! How can anyone say that, I mean I can say that Dragonite isn't one of the only dragon types left but, come on! Still Nintendo would definitely need to revamp it quite a bit.

Favorite Dragon type/Dragon Pokemon: Kingdra
Reason for joining club: Well, I like Dragon pokemon, they're tied for my first favorite type, so why not join to show my love and support?
Answer to any one of the current topics: If there were dragon type starters, I would have a hard time choosing between Garchomp and Kingdra. I might have to trade one in just to have both.

It's because Salamence and Garchomp have almost identical Attack stats, but are much faster, so it kind of makes sense.

Hiatus April 7th, 2014 1:45 PM

I wouldn't say Dragonite is outclassed or anything like that. d: Unlike most other dragon-types, this one's got Multiscale, which enhances its endurance and makes it last longer when battling.

This is where my lack of 5th gen knowledge fails me. *facepalm* Ok, so *I'd* like a Dragonite that can sweep better, but that's just me. I think it needs one because of it being the first dragon and such.

Yeah, giving it a mega-evolution would be a pretty good idea. Since we want it to sweep, maybe they could have its Attack and Speed raised? Perhaps they could also decrease its Special Attack, just to make sure it doesn't wind up overpowered. :]

Dragonite can sweep to some extent. Multiscale+Weakness Policy+Dragon Dance=destruction
