i picked heart gold for the sole reason that it was bellsprout instead of oddish at newbie areas
SoulSilver due to having better version exclusive Pokémon and I just liked the name "SoulSilver" better.
Originally I bought SoulSilver, because Lugia is one of my favorite legendaries. I ended buying HeartGold, later, and passed my SS onto a kid I babysit every now and then. I like HG better, because of Growlithe pretty much. I never used it, but I like Caterpie better than Weedle, as well.
Back when G/S came out, I had Gold, just because I thought Ho-oh was awesome and mysterious (I was 10). However I ended up buying SS when it was released because there were no HG left and I really just wanted to play the game. Now I'm so glad I bought SS, mainly because of Skarmory and Vulpix. I've also come to admire Lugia a lot more than Ho-oh, because of it's simple yet beautiful design.
Pokémon Gold was my first Pokémon game, and I have very fond memories of it. My best would be the Growlithe I trained to lvl 100(Nope, not Arcanine, haha!)
I've been recently looking around for HG as I want to replay it; but the games are getting really expensive here(Sweden), and I've only managed to find SS... I bought SS a while ago, but the game was all screwed up(freezing every 5 minute), so I just bought another one last weekend. I really hoe this one'll be better(though, I'm not sure as the DS didn't recognise the game at first...) |
For me the best it's "obviously" HeartGold, for a simple reason, Ho-Oh *W*. No seriously, I don't see the difference between these twice version but, I prefer Heartgold for Ho-Oh, it is a little difference but it has his importance ! |
Soul Silver for me. I love love Silver back in the day. So Soul Silver for me.
Funnily I think my favourite would be Heart Gold since Ho-oh is my favourite legendary.
However I actually bought Soul Silver because I got the original Pokemon Gold. (I voted Heart Gold) |
I have bot But I like HearthGold the most.
Probs becouse I got gold first back in the day's ;) |
I bought HG because I figured most of my friends would have SS and I would complement their pokedexes. I was right, too.
Soul Silver, mainly for Lugia. But, it made sense to me to name my rival "Silver" in Soul Silver.
I choose my verision, depending on the exclusive legendary :L
And of dat, I chose Silver. I never fancied Ho-Oh dat much tbh :/. To me, Lugia is way more superior ^^ |
I prefer HeartGold over SoulSilver I guess its because Ho-oh reminds me of the Rainbow Dragon from Yu-Gi-Oh and at the time I was running a deck with the Rainbow Dark Dragon in it. But that's besides the point so anyway yeah HeartGold for me.
Of the two, Heart Gold is my main game. I like its exclusives, including Ho-Oh, more, and it just stuck with me when I got it new at GameStop not long after release.
Soul Silver I do enjoy as well, I got that used a year after I got Heart Gold, however. That one I mostly use for fun playthroughs (like challenge runs). |
I prefer SoulSilver; it's the version I picked for my main playthroughs and I just prefer Lugia and the exclusives it offers. Contradictorily, I have two copies of HeartGold..
HeartGold all the way for me!! Not only do i prefer Ho-Oh to Lugia, but here is a small selection of the awesome HG exclusive Mons:
Primeape, Arcanine, Donphan, Gliscor, Claydol, Kyogre... |
When Heartgold and Soulsilver were new, I went for the second of the pair. I have always liked Lugia more than Ho-oh. Heartgold interested me less than Soulsilver interested me.
I bought Soul Silver first and played the hell out of that game back in 2010 when it came out. I have Heartgold too, I'm actually playing it now, but I didn't play it as much/get as far as I did in SS, so i'll go with Soul Silver here, for now. But I like Ho-Oh as a Pokemon more than I like Lugia, I and prefer some of HG's version exclusives to SS's.
I play on HeartGold more because you can get the Life Orb before the Elite Four.
HeartGold, because I like Ho-oh's design better than Lugia's and it also had Kyogre which was the first legendary I fought in my life. Aside from that my brother wanted SoulSilver so I got HeartGold.
I prefer Pokemon heart gold as I love pokes like phanpy
Heartgold, because Ho-oh is my favorite legendary. :p
I got both games. But I bought Soul Silver first, OMG I remember, I really wanted to get the games on release date, and the Heart Gold copies were all pulled back fom the stores in The Netherlands because there was something wrong with the games (there was a bug, you didn't get a title screen and you could not save or access your saved file)... So the release date was delayed... :\
Anyway, got Soul Silver first, I was hooked, and bought Heart Gold as soon those copies were fixed and released again :3 |
I can't choose. :( I like both the version mascots and the other version exclusives, I either like both or feel indifferent about them. So like...I just can't choose, honestly. HGSS, as well as the original Gold and Silver, are the only paired games I actually don't have a preference on. I'm totally fine with either.
I chose HG mostly because it contained two of my all-time favorite exclusives: Mantine and Sandslash. Couldn't go without 'em. I like Lugia more than Ho-oh, but nothing stopped me from going to Whirl Islands later on anyway.
