Username: Sheep Partner Pokemon: Whimsicott http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/547.png Why you like Fairies: Pink, cute, strong.. well, more like threatening. There really isn't a need to say more. <3 What is your favorite Fairy type Pokemon? Why?: I admit it's extremely hard to pick a favorite as majority of the older Pokemon retyped to be fairies are all great, plus the new fairies are wonderful as well. Of the retyped Pokemon I'm probably going to say Azumarill and Whimsicott - they are both extremely adorable and very fitting as a fairy type. When it comes to new fairies, though, I'm a big fan of Floette and mega Mawile. Oh, can't forget Sylveon and Dedenne either! All very cute and pack a punch. It's especially hard to say no to Floette. https://31.media.tumblr.com/705a0c28c5a99a9f77c86d7984a87830/tumblr_mxd53tFjCd1qau6z9o1_500.gif |

Partner Pokemon: Sylveon! Why you like Fairies: Ever since I picked up X the day it came out, I realized that fairy types were going to be awesome! I used a Swirlix in my main team and boy did it suprise me how such cute, cuddly little Pokemon be such powerhouses! I absolutely ADORE how girly and cute they are, yet with powerful moves such as: draining kiss and moonlight! I can't get enough of these little guys. What is your favorite Fairy type Pokemon and why?: I'd have to go with Sylveon, closely followed by Whimsicott and Swirlix. I absolutely fell in love with Sylveon's design and moveset. I love everything about it, from it's shiny form (which I am difficult to please for Shinies), to it's typing and all the way to how much of a Special Tank it is, while dishing out crazy damage! It even managed to bump my old favorite Pokemon, Luxray, down to number 2 on the line... and that is quite remarkable on its own! |

Partner Pokemon:Floette Why you like Fairies: Truth be told I wasn't to keen on them at first, but once I started using them I quickly changed my mind. They're extremely versatile, you have your Hard hitting ones Gardevoir,Mawile, Sylveon, Azumarill and your total walls Florges,Togekiss, Sylveon,Azumarill. Plus I like their designs...well except Aromatisse...but that's not important. :D Answer a Topic!: What is your favorite Fairy type Pokemon and why?: If I had to pick just one it would be Floette. It's been my favorite ever since I used one in my X playthrough. It has a great moveset as well as Sp.A and Sp.D, she makes short work of Team Flare with all their dark types. Plus she's adorable in the Amie. :) |
Finally, another Fairy club is up.
Username: CloysterOyster Partner Pokemon: Sylveon Why you like Fairies: They are super powerful against Dragon, Dark and Fighting types, and I recall using Sylveon's Moonblast and taking out a Cloyster with one hit. Answer a topic: Sylveon, because she is an Eeveelution and I love Eeveelutions. She is also very pretty, colorful and powerful. I almost always have her on Fairy monotype teams. |
Yay members! Welcome everyone! cx
I hope each and every single one of you has a ton of fun here in the club, and remember not to be afraid to post an continue discussion of current topics! Such as discussing each other's favorite fairy! That's perfectly fine with me. These topics are not just answer & go questions, they're something to stir you all up in a heep of chitter chatter about them! <3 Quote:
All I ask is that you stay on topic as much as possible (you may discuss with others their favorites as well and compare your favorite to theirs, ya know, discuss about them!), but I also ask that you keep your teams in spoilers, only because they take up so much space. Otherwise feel free to show us your Fairy teams (this goes to everyone as well!). Just don't make a topic out of it...yet. ;D |

Partner Pokemon: Togekiss. Why you like Fairies: Because they're... FAIRIES! In all seriousness, I like them mostly due to how adorable they are. Plus, fairy is one of the very few types super-effective to dragon. What is your favorite Fairy type Pokemon? Why? Togekiss, definitely. It's got an amazing-looking design, and could be pretty useful when it comes to battling as well. It has access to Serene Grace, and its movepool is filled with amazing attacks--including Air Slash, Roost, and Thunder Wave. By using Thunder Wave, it could cripple down opponents and make them slower. Thanks to Roost, it could recover itself whenever it needs to. With Air Slash, it could make its foes unable to move while also damaging them. At the moment, I have a Togekiss in my Black 2. When PokéBank gets released, I'll immediately transfer it to Y. I just can't live without it, to be honest. xD" Whimsicott would have to be my favorite, too, as well as Mawile, Xerneas, and Cleffa. |
Welcome to the club newcomers! c:
I love all of your choices for partners and favorite fairies! Sylveon most definitely seems to be popular! .3. I have to say it really surprised me as a nice special based Pokemon. Great Special Defense, great Special Attack, and great HP make for an awesome wall! I guess I can go ahead and get a new topic going now that we have more than 3 people in the club now. >u< What is your opinion towards the Fairy type in battle? My opinion personally is that it's the greatest. lol Not just because I'm in the club, but I honestly think it's the best competitively defensive type. It resists many of the meta-game's very potent threats of Fighting type attacks, Bug Buzzes and Megahorns, Dark Pulses and Crunch, and especially noted the fearsome Draco Meteor is completely useless against a lil' Flabebe! Offensively it's rather good as well. Super-effective against Dark, Dragon, AND Fighting types is extremely nice (Hydreigon and Scrafty just go tumbling down). |
What is your opinion towards the Fairy type in battle?
I agree with Duzzy there, Fairy-types are not only weak to two uncommonly used types offensively but they have some notable advantages against some very strong types like Fighting, Dark and Dragon making it a great offensive and defensive type. While we may not have many Fairy moves right now, a lot of them have some useful niches in battle, plus the designs of the Pokemon are quite diverse. It completely flipped competitive battling on its head, and once I start playing X and Y I want to use one of my team for myself! |

Partner Pokemon: Gardevoir http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/282.png Why you like Fairies: I love their typing and the whole idea of it, really. Also, they can beat dragon types easily! They're also super adorable :P What is your favorite Fairy type Pokemon? Why? My favorite fairy type is Gardevoir. It was one of my favourite Pokemon before 6th gen, but now it's fairy I love it even more! Gardevoir is so elegant, yet it's attacks are super powerful! I love the design and also previous evolutions, Kirlia and Ralts. The colour scheme goes well and it's perfect in battle! P.S. currently making userbars for you, I'll PM you them when I'm done :) |

Partner Pokemon: mega mawile Why you like Fairies: because they are cute and fabulous just like me (but really because they are really cute and fairy typing is interesting because it's not like an element?? like water or dark or fire for example. it's just. fairy)((well dragon really isn't one either, but it's still cool)) Answer a Topic!: my favorite fairy type would be a tie between mawile and sylveon. they have really cool designs. and i liked mawile since i was young, and the fairy typing for it was a really cool change. |

Partner Pokemon: Poachy the Togekiss http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/468.png Why you like Fairies: They're a very interesting type when it comes to battling. They finally give Dragon another weakness, are fully immune to all Dragon attacks, and they also offer other Pokemon reasons to be on teams now with Fairies being weak to Poison and Steel(which were two of the WORST offensive types until now) Answer a Topic!:What is your favorite Fairy type Pokemon? Why? My favorite Fairy type Pokemon would have to be tied between two that actually gained the type with Gen VI. They would be Togekiss and Mawile. Togekiss is one of my favorite Pokemon in general, ever since I started using it on my VGC teams as a Scarf'd lead to spam Air Slash. Mawile, while not always being a favorite Pokemon of mine, has always been one that I would love to use, but never had a reason to. There was always SOMETHING that could it it's job better. But now, with the amazing Steel/Fairy typing and it's Mega Evolution, Mawile has become more of the beastly Pokemon it should have always been! :) |
What is your opinion towards the Fairy type in battle?
It's not that bad, to be honest. Most types have four to six weaknesses, but fairy has only two I believe—poison and steel. :b Also, like I said in my previous post, fairy's one of the very few types that are super-effective to dragon. This, if you ask me, is a huge thing because before gen six, dragon-types didn't have much weaknesses at all. Fairy is super-effective to poison- and dark-types too by the way, which is a plus! (: |
What is your opinion towards the Fairy type in battle?
I love what it's done to competitive battle. I've used a Gardevoir to sweep through an entire team, with just a small hiccup on a Scizor, that's without mega evolution and without any type of setup. I just wanted to see how far she could go. It's also pretty hard to counter a fairy unless you're prepared for fairies. I've had a Sylveon wall give 9 kinds of hell because I had no poison or steel types. I really don't get why fire types resist fairy though...and I always forget they do until it's too late. Quote:

First off, love that picture of Mega Mawile. Dunno where it came from or who drew it, but I'm feeling those colors so much.
So, I wanna join too, a lot of my old favorites are now fairies, and a lot of new ones, too. Username: Patrick Partner: Aromatisse Why you like fairies: Probably because they're all cute, and that's enough to get me invested. They also tend to be some of the easier creatures to draw, and I'm too lazy to consider the likes of Kyogre or something. Ain't nobody got time for that. _-_ Favorite(s): Uh... it's hard to give a "why" beyond the same reason I listed above, I mean they might actually be useful in battle but considering I don't really care, it's mostly aesthetic or personal reasons. My favorites are Spritzee, Aromatisse, the Flabebe line, Clefairy, the Ralts line (though I still haven't quite warmed up to Gallade, he was introduced in a generation I largely ignored...<_<) and Mawile. Sylveon's pretty neat too. I still consider Mawile more Steel just be virtue of always knowing it as such, and even then Dark would've made more sense. That and I have no other favorite Steel types, so I have to have someone represent there. Mawile's always been cute as heck, though. In battle: ... well, Aromatisse turned out to be a better contender than I thought she would. Slow, but good everywhere else. I will admit I enjoy how Fairies seem to be pretty broken right now, if only because of schadenfreude. That comic posted earlier, funny as it is, that's what I get out of it (though not aimed at Dragonite, I love that guy. ;_; Mostly any of the types that could be included under "hardcore" seem to get wailed on by cutesy fairies, and it's too funny). I also like the idea of a legit moon attack in Moonblast. It's about time, unless I missed out on one. Conversely, I'm glad they also give Poison types someone else to beat up on. Not that I use Poison types much anyway, Nido/Bulba/Bellsprout/Roselia families aside. I just realized they're mostly Grass types at that, too. |
Welcome new lil' Fairy lovers! I'm so excited to see you all eager to discuss the current topics we have at hand here! >u<

What is your opinion towards the Fairy type in battle?
I've had so much fun with Moonblast in the games that you don't even know. Most of the fairies I've used dominated battles even against opponents that they're weak against.. though Drasna's Dragalge certainly gave me problems. I didn't run into many steel types throughout the game either so using a fairy was quite handy most of the time. And hey, who doesn't like being able to kick a dragon's butt so easily when things get tough? :D; |

Partner Pokemon: Mawile Why you like Fairies: Every single one of them is the epitome of adorable - except maybe Klefki, it's just a keychain haha - and I really love cute Pokemon. As well, Fairy is a pretty resilient type considering it has only two weaknesses and a heap of immunities. The attacks available to Fairy-types also sound cute; Baby-Doll Eyes? Nothing beats that, you must admit. What is your favorite Fairy type Pokemon? Why?: Probably Togekiss or Mawile. I like them both equally, I think. Togekiss' evolutionary line has always been one of my favorites, because they're so adorable and I appreciated having Togepi as an egg in Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal and I really loved it when I got it in FR/LG... somehow. I can't remember now, lol. But anyway, the line was made even better in DPPt cuz Togekiss is so versatile and huggable-looking. Mawile is flat out cool and always has been. It'll forever be my go-to moe. :} Quote:

Yay, more members! Glad to see so many more fans of the Fairy type here, and I hope you all are having a great holiday season!
As it is the season, I have flown back home for Christmas, and due to that will be on a little less than I normally am. So, I ask that you all just please keep to the rules of this thread, please continue to discuss the topics on fairy types, you may continue to post cute/funny pictures (as long as they are PC appropriate), and I will give out two more topics for discussion! What is your favorite Fairy type team? Which Fairy type Pokemon do you find to be the best battler? Happy holidays everyone, and be safe! |

Which Fairy type Pokemon do you find to be the best battler?
Mega Mawile, with those insane Attack stats the things like a Tiger II Tank. Good user of Sucker Punch to, so a great counter to Ghost and Physic threats. The strong attack stats plus STAB bonus are ideal with those normally weak Steel attacks. |
Which Fairy type Pokemon do you find to be the best battler?
Gardevoir definitely, for same reasons as stated by Christopher. It's got a movepool diverse enough to cover most threats, and once it gets Hyper Voice its Mega form will be breaking through Substitutes like no tomorrow. Azumarill also gets a mention thanks to its amazing physical strength due to Huge Power. |
Which Fairy type Pokemon do you find to be the best battler?
Togekiss. It just has to be. With combination of Serene Grace, Thunder Wave, and Air Slash, it could take away all chances of your opponents landing hits on you and defeat them without any sort of trouble. Togekiss could learn Roost, too. With this move, it should be able to recover itself whenever it needs to and always keep itself healthy. :] Sylveon would have to be my favorite, too. I've used it many times while battling online; it performs pretty decently. |
Quote:
Another really good one is Mega-Mawile. Put that beast under TR and it pretty much has it's way with any Pokemon that /thinks/ it can switch in and do anything! |
Which Fairy type Pokemon do you find to be the best battler?
I'd have to say that for me, it's gotta be Klefki. Sure maybe not as an offensive presence, but it serves its purpose as a physical wall pretty damn well. Prankster Thunder Wave, Spikes, Substitute, Calm Mind, Torment, Light Screen + Reflect, Swagger, Toxic, and Switcheroo are all of its useful non attacking moves, and it's a beast to try and stop it from setting anything up. Plus not to mention the access to Draining Kiss and Foul Play. Draining kiss sapping HP from the Pokemon and actually giving you back a whopping 75% of the damage dealt by it, combined with Klefki's low HP stat makes for a huge recovery rate for Klefki. Not to mention when paired with leftovers and Substitute. Klefki is just an amazing force in battle. It really is, if you haven't already tried one. |
What is your favorite Fairy type team?
I'll be creating a fairy team relatively soon.. whenever I complete my mountain dex in X, that is. No movesets or held items have been decided yet but this is my plan: Sylveon with Pixilate, Timid or Modest, female Azumarill with Huge Power, Jolly, female Florges with Flower Veil, Calm, female Whimsicott with Prankster, Bold, female (have this baby thanks to Jell!) Aaand that's what has been planned so far. :) Probably going to put Dedenne and Gardevoir or Togekiss in there somewhere as well. Which Fairy type Pokemon do you find to be the best battler? Mega Mawile without question.. but Azumarill has gotten really buffed with the addition of its fairy typing too. Huge Power for Mawile makes it quite the threat and Azumarill can also take advantage of the same ability + Play Rough to utilize their immense attack stats. Whoa! |
What is your favorite Fairy type team?
If I were to create a team based on fairy-types only, it would include Whimsicott, Aromatisse, Togekiss, Mega Mawile, Azumarill, and Clefable. Clefable has Magic Guard and Unaware (which are two, great abilities, in my opinion), and with access to moves like Wish, Cosmic Power, Aromatherapy, and Thunder Wave, it could make quite an amazing wall. As for the rest, their job would be to just take out the opponent's Pokémon. |
Oh my gosh, the OP looks so pretty ♥
Username: Miau Partner Pokemon: Edelweiss the Florges Why you like Fairies: They're cute, but can hit really hard. And I love all the different inspirations behind each Fairy-type Pokemon, and how even though there aren't many of them, they're very diverse, from delicate flowers like Floette, to the trickster Whimsicott and just look at Carbink and Klefki! What is your favorite Fairy type Pokemon? Why? I love Florges, it just looks so beautiful in all the pretty colors, I had a White flower Florges in X, that I raised from a teeny tiny Flabebe that I caught early in the game. She proved to be really great in battle too, she was in my first Hall of Fame team! Design-wise, I also like Spritzee/Aromatisse a lot, and out of the re-typed Pokemon, Clefable and Whimsicott are definitely my favorites. |
Welcome MIAU! Sorry I was gone for a while everybody. But I finally graduated hairdressing school!

Partner Pokemon: http://i.imgur.com/K0lA6OW.png Why you like Fairies: They are cute and mystical! I wanted to use Florges in XY from the start, and then Luke traded me a shiny blue Flabebe, wheee! Answer a Topic!: What is your favorite Fairy type Pokemon? Why? Oh maaan. I love Whimsicott, Mega-Gardevoir, Mega-Mawile, Togekiss, Florges, Clefable, Azumarill, and Sylveon. They all have adorable expressions and designs. I love how some draw their power from the moon or even from their emotions, such as Gardevoir. |
Welcome to the club Lilith! c:
And thank ya for the blue Florges sprite! I've been meaning to find some but have had no luck. ;A; Everyone's favorite fairies are just so wonderful <3 |
Thanks, Jelli, and congrats on graduating! Your Heartux sounds adorable, penguins are always adorable!
As for my own, I'd make a trickster little fairy, based on foxfire or will-o-wisps. It would be a Fairy/Fire type, a tiny blueish flame of sorts, maybe with a small, gaseous body? They live in the forest, and only come out at night, to guide lost travelers. They're a bit mischievous though, so they'll lead them on the longest way out of the forest, and they like to pull pranks every now and then. I can't think of exact stats, other than that it would have good speed to compensate for its low defensive stats. It draws its Fairy powers from the moon, so it would have Moon Blast and Dazzling Gleam, and while I'd give it good special attack, I think it would rely more on dealing status with Will-o-Wisp or Confuse Ray. As for abilities, definitely Prankster, and maybe Flash Fire as filler. |

Partner Pokemon: Azumarill Why you like Fairies: They're so cute! I don't think I've seen a Fairy-Type that is not beautiful, or cute. They also have a resistance to Dragon, so there's another compliment for Fairy-Types. Azumarill got a big buff up in Gen VI, and it also got the Fairy-Type, which makes it amazing in competitive play; I'd love to use a Sylveon some time soon :3 What is your favorite Fairy type Pokemon? Why? Easy. Azumarill! It's soo cute! I also love how it evolves at like... Level 18, if I'm right? Super amazing. It's also got cutie pie face, but it's deadly, so watch out. If you haven't used one, I recommend you use one. It's was kinda underrated, but due to it's big buff and Fairy addition in X/Y it's become popular. Which Fairy type Pokemon do you find to be the best battler? Again, Azumarill! But he's not the only one. Azumarill's Huge Power gives a big boost, and with Fairy-Type, Play Rough is amazing. Just try using it! Sylveon is the other one I was talking about. It might not have other great stats, but it's Defense and Sp.Defense are surely good. I've seen a friend use it, and it can take quite some hits! Mega Gardevoir seems quite good in battle too, but sadly, it's quite easy to knock out, at least Diantha's (her Gardevoir was weak, I could say). |
Welcome to the club, Zeratul! Azumarill is certainly a monster of a Pokemon (I've always thought so), and with its new typing it's become even more of one. I love it so much! Belly Drum + Aqua Jet + Play Rough is probably one of my favorite combos.

Right here! Huge apologies for disappearing. Happens occasionally, haah. ;_;
Azumarill has definitely become a beast even more so than before. Huge Power + Play Rough and Aqua Jet = better watch out. I'll be trying to breed a shiny one to use for battling in the future. :) Anyways, how do you guys feel about "non-fairy" Pokemon getting the fairy typing but others that resemble fairies being left out? I'm talking Granbull becoming fairy but Celebi continuing to be just grass. |
Anyways, how do you guys feel about "non-fairy" Pokemon getting the fairy typing but others that resemble fairies being left out?
I guess I don't mind, haha. It doesn't really make sense for them to be left out, yes, but hey, competitive-wise, at least it saves them from having more weaknesses. That's a good thing; the less weaknesses you have, the better chance you'll have at surviving. |

Partner Pokemon: Mega Mawile Why you like Fairies: Because there cute, adorable and they are Dragon slayers. Answer a Topic!: What is your favorite Fairy type Pokemon? Why? Mega Mawile if that counts because of huge power. So if you ev train a Mawile in attack and maybe defense it would be very strong. I also like Slurpuff because it looks so cute. One thing I would love to see in the future is a Fairy type champion. A fairy tale type room with a castle with a princess in it and she looks cute and innocent but when she battles she is strong. She uses the strongest of strong Fairy types. What do you think? |
Quote:
Celebi would have been so super adorable with that typing added onto it. Grass/Fairy is probably my favorite combination. Pokemon like Cresselia and Snorunt and Glalie I feel should have gotten it. I know Glalie seems odd but personally everything in the Fairy Egg Group should have gotten it. I mean, they're all just so cute. ;A; Quote:
And a Fairy Type Champion sounds awesome! Maybe a male one since that'd be kinda cute? .u. I kind of like to think of Diantha as somewhat of a Fairy type Cham because of her Gardevoir, but I'd like one who purely uses them, as well. |
Anyways, how do you guys feel about "non-fairy" Pokemon getting the fairy typing but others that resemble fairies being left out?
I'm okay with it, even if it resulted in some Normal-types completely exchanging for Fairy-type such as Clefairy, Togepi and Snubbull lines. The former two suit Fairy while Snubbull's line is a mixed bag, but I apparently found out it was based on the Cù Sìth which means "dog fairy". Audino wasn't really a fairy but more of a rabbit if memory serves me right, so it was definitely appropriate to keep its pure Normal typing. Celebi looked fairy-like but I'm still fine with it keeping its current typing. Still cute nonetheless. The one that I still don't understand is Mime Jr. and Mr. Mime. They don't look very fairy-like at all. |
Anyways, how do you guys feel about "non-fairy" Pokemon getting the fairy typing but others that resemble fairies being left out?
Some Fairy looking Pokemon should have had the Fairy type added to there typing. It would be like having a fish like Goldeen and it not being Water type. Plus the more Fairy type Pokemon the happier I would be. So long story short I am not happy about it. |
Cool, I love the Fairy-type. I'd like to join if I could.
Username: Quilly. Partner Pokemon: Whimsicott. Why you like Fairies: I have been waiting for Pokémon to release a new type ever since Gen. IV, and I'll have to admit that when I first found out that the new type would be Fairy, I kind of raged a bit. But then, after a few months, I warmed up to the idea. I missed out on using a Fairy-type on my first playthrough of Y, but when I got X, I used an Aromatisse, and dear God that thing is a total beast. I've come to love Fairy-types from a casually competitive point of view; they have awesome battle properties, a much needed advantage over Dragon-types, and a lot of the Pokémon have nice designs. I also think they got very creative with some of the Pokémon they retconned to be Fairy-type, and that's cool and all too. I never would've seen Mawile as a Fairy until Nintendo changed it. Answer a Topic! What is your favorite Fairy type Pokemon? Why? Well, that's debatable, because Gardevoir and Whimsicott are my favorite Psychic and Grass-types respectively, but Aromatisse is my favorite pure Fairy-type. I guess it comes down to which of those three Pokémon are higher on my favorite Pokémon list, which is Whimsicott. I've loved Whimisicott since Gen. V, where it was a total beast. Adding the Fairy-type to it only adds to its potential, and makes it an even better battler. In fact, thanks to Poké Bank, I have my original Whimsicott from Black, and it's even better than it was before, which is saying something because it was the best Pokémon on my team in Black, and that was with one-dimensional typing. I have a lot of answers to some of the topics, but it's late and I have to be up for work in the morning, so expect some more contributions in a few days! |

How do you feel about "non-fairy" Pokemon getting the fairy typing but others that resemble fairies being left out?
It really annoys me that Snubull and Granbull are fairies they look like football hooligans rather than fairies. Mr Mime is another one, he looks like someone parents tell their kids to stay away from and Aromatisse and Slurpuff are utterly repulsive, both having the apperence of fat middle aged women from a economically deprived town. |
Thought I'd start a new topic here, haha. I hope you don't mind, Jelli! Anyway, here it goes. If you were to give pre-evolved form to any fairy-type, which would you select? Why? How would you want this Pokémon to look?

Hello hello! I swear I will slow down on the amount of clubs I'm joining!! .__.
But I adore fairy types! Username: Shhmew Partner Pokemon: Wigglytuff Why you like Fairies: They're always either super adorable or super beautiful. And those are the type of Pokemon I like best! Plus the typing is very nice and helpful to have in your team. I like the balance it brings too, calming down dragon types and giving poison types a little more usefulness. By the way, my favorite fairy type is probably Sylveon, though I wanted to be original so I chose another I really like, Wigglytuff. :D I'm afraid I don't understand the current topic though. Do you mean, choose a fairy type to give a pre-evolution to? Because that seems pretty limited, considering most already have a pre-evolution or already have 3 in their line. I guess Carbink though :D that might be cute. |

This place is all welcoming to any discussion (new or old) about the little fairies! Quote:
Wigglytuff is indeed adorable. It's one of my favorites when in Pokemon Amie! And Sylveon is completely amazing, as are ALL of the Fairies, but it takes the cake in many ways. So welcome to our club! Please feel free to discuss the Fairy type and it's Pokemon all you wish! (pictures (that are appropriate to our site) are always fun and welcomed) |

Username: Strawberry Partner Pokemon:http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/700.png http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/683.png Why you like Fairies:Because they're perfect in all ways, duh. Not only do they serve as the ultimate check to dragons, but many of them have, in my opinion, beautiful if not immaculate designs. A lot of the re-typed Pokemon fit flawlessly into the fairy typing, and they seem to just "work" for me. Fairy Pokemon touch on many of the things I felt were missing from the Pokemon world, like a sense of balance and femininity-- in a masculine way. ;) I discovered how much Pokemon can still impact and surprise me after so many years; and I respect that. Answer a Topic!:How do you feel about "non-fairy" Pokemon getting the fairy typing but others that resemble fairies being left out? The way I see it, the Fairy type is still in beta. There were so many Dark/Steel Pokemon released and retyped after Gen II, there's no way we've seen the end of current Pokemon gaining a fairy typing. Not to mention the potential for new Baby/Mega Pokemon. One opportunity I thing they missed was Cresselia. That Pokemon fits the Fae class perfectly, yet sadly it remains Psychic. Hopefully that will be fixed, haha. Another one is Cherrim. Its sunny disposition makes it a great potential addition to the Fairy type. Honorable mentions go to Musharna, Lopunny, Mantine, Mienshao, Audino, Roserade, and Lapras. The end. :) ٩꒰ಂ❛ ▿❛ಂ꒱۶♡ |

But glad to see you here! Cresselia's leave out did leave me in a little fit, I'll admit. ;n; They did somewhat make it up by throwing in Mawile and Whimsicott, so I'll give them that much. I love that you touched on the femininity a lot of the fairy types had. While they of course had Pokemon that were feminine before, I feel like this typing just really catered to the lack of feminine things within Pokemon. Again glad to see you here and feel free to post as often as you'd like! While I'm at it: Diancie was revealed and confirmed just recently as a Rock/Fairy type Pokemon, as well as having an actual connection to Crabink as a sudden mutation of a Carbink. What are your thoughts and speculations on Diancie's mysterious origins and purpose? |
Cresselia would have been lovely as a fairy. I was personally pretty sad Mew didn't get the fairy typing ;-;
A mutation of Carbink huh? I have absolutely no idea what that could mean in terms of in-game mechanics. ;-; Diancie is very pretty though. |

I don't know but I can't wait to find out. |
What are your thoughts and speculations on Diancie's mysterious origins and purpose?
Perhaps Team Flare's got something to do with this? They've got five expert scientists, who were perhaps doing some experimental things on Carbink to see if it could mega-evolve? The experiment might have gone wrong, and in result, you've got yourself a Diancie. d: Personally, I love this Pokémon. It looks pretty adorable! |

How do you guys feel about "non-fairy" Pokemon getting the fairy typing but others that resemble fairies being left out?
Victini and Celebi seem more like Fairy type rather than Psychic type. The Lake trio are tiny and fit the trope as well. They represent something, like victory, the voice of the forest, and the emotions. Cresselia is the embodiment of sweet dreams and looks iridescent. If they're going to introduce a new typing this late in the franchise, they should have added a few more... Diancie was revealed and confirmed just recently as a Rock/Fairy type Pokemon, as well as having an actual connection to Crabink as a sudden mutation of a Carbink. What are your thoughts and speculations on Diancie's mysterious origins and purpose? She bathed in the moonlight and mutated into their princess, I don't know! And yet, Carbink are genderless. |

Not a big surprise actually, I remember reading somewhere (maybe here?) someone speculate that Carbink is to Diancie what Phione is to Manaphy, i.e. Diancie could breed to produce Carbink, but Carbink cannot evolve into Diancie. Though unlikely, since Carbink can already be found in the while, when you think about it, they can actually breed, so why wouldn't Diancie? Unless it loses the ability to breed upon evolution sudden mutation. And well, I like Lilith's idea, bathing in the moonlight sounds very fairy-like. Maybe it was a special event that happened only once because of special circumstances? |
or being a rock she was formed under the earth after x amount of years being compressed like a diamond?
|
Oooh actually, that's not that far off, Tommy, since according to the 'dex, Carbink sleep in the ground for hundreds of millions of years before being dug up. Diancie should have been underground for at least a billion years -- the minimum amount of time for a natural diamond to be formed.

Glad to see another Slurpuff lover! He's just so cute and I always have this image of him helping a baker in a small town bakery carrying flour and then tripping and spilling it everywhere and everyone has a good laugh and giggles. <3 I'm wondering about Diancie: Maybe she's actually a resullt of a piece of the Anistar Sundial colliding with a Carbink. The thing itself is said to be from another world, maybe a piece broke off before it collided with Earth, and upon landing it's power and the power of the legendary Pokemon caused a mutation? |
Has the idea that Diancie is Carbink's mega evolution been debunked yet? I heard speculation, but I have no idea if it has any standing.
|

I can't wait till the movie is here then we can know about Diancie. all this speculation is driving me mad hahaha. |
It's really mysterious how Carbink and Diancie are tied together so I'd love to know more about them. :3 Kind of gives me a Clefairy and Clefable vibe for some reason though haha, now that Lilith mentioned "moonlight." Though I'm a fan of Peitharchia's experimentation idea as well; choices, choices. Definitely going to have to watch this movie.
But yeah, there are a few small legends who seem to be more fairy-looking than whatever their current types are, especially Celebi. |

RE: Non Fairy Fairy Likes Uh, good? Bad? I dunno, I never know how to feel. '3' RE: Diancie Do want. That is all. Here's what I want to know. Why are they all pink? Color means nothing to me as far as stereotypical associations go, I mean I like pink as a color anyhow, but I feel that surely Game Freak and all those associated could have pretended to diversify a little. I guess they thought they'd make up for it in the Flabebe line? |
Diancie was revealed and confirmed just recently as a Rock/Fairy type Pokemon, as well as having an actual connection to Carbink as a sudden mutation of a Carbink. What are your thoughts and speculations on Diancie's mysterious origins and purpose?
I'm guessing it's something to do with this mysterious glowing spot in Reflection Cave! I mean like, it's suspicious as heck, and they can't just leave it there. I'm probably guessing that you take a Carbink there, and it transforms into Diancie, and you can only do it once (since it's a legendary?). I just really want to know how Carbink transform, looks like it's going to be interesting. (unless GF be douches and just put up a simple Wi-Fi event.) |
"The Diamond Ore Country is a beautiful land located deep underground, where the "Jewel Pokémon" Carbink live in peace and prosperity. In this country, a giant diamond known as the "Sacred Diamond" can be found. The Sacred Diamond has played the role of an important energy resource throughout the ages. However, the princess of the Diamond Ore Country, Diancie, currently does not possess this power.Having encountered Satoshi and Pikachu, Diancie sets out on a journey to save her country; a journey in search of the "Life Pokémon" Xerneas, seeking its sacred power.Along the way, Rocket Gang, the thief named Marilyn, and a Ninja thief attack Diancie. Can Diancie save its country? And what is the fate of Satoshi and Pikachu! Along for the journey are the parent-child combo of Milis and Argos, but on the journey, they find a cocoon where the "Destruction Pokémon" Yveltal, which is said to have once eradicated all life in the Kalos region, sleeps..."
...seems like Diancie has her hands full! Luckily she is being helped by her four Carbink "butlers". What are your thoughts on the different forms of the four Carbink? Could they be possible events or forms for a later date? Which of the four is your favorite? Spoiler:
|
... oh my god those Carbink are 1) adorable but 2) really quite boring. What's even the point of the different formes? I don't really understand the relevance. :[
|
Those alternate Carbink forms look kinda interesting but I wonder what they have to do with Diancie, maybe they might be obtainable in the sequel/third version should it be announced anytime soon. As for my fave of the bunch, I really like that one on the top left.
|
Oh gosh, the Carbink are adorable! I tried reading their names, and then realized someone must have done that already, so I went to serebii and here's what I've got:
Quote:
I'm really hoping that they'll be distributed when the movie is released, though it'll probably be on location and not via wifi. Anyway, the movie sounds fun, I didn't know there were so many details about it already. [EDIT] Forgot to mention, I think maji means "serious", so maybe he's paired with Joke? And well, "naito" can be read as night too, and "daii" is similar to day, but I guess that's stretching it {XD} |
Woah, I didn't even know about those Carbink forms until now. Was it said what the difference between them was? It'd be cool if they showed up in the games and had some sort of major differences between them. Though, they don't exactly look very different from one another.
I really love Carbink though, :3 <3 Growing very fond of Diancie too. |

Mmm, yeah, I'm on the same boat as Shhmew; until you mentioned them here, I didn't even know about their existence. Haha. Anyway, I think they're going to be distributed via Mystery Gift or something to promote the new Pokémon movie and whatnot. My favorite would probably be the first one, because to me, it looks pretty adorable. I also like the one located bottom right. n_n" |

Why? Out of them all granbull- I always loved using it and I love it's design! Out of Kalos ones- Flabebe - it's just so adorable :3 What is your opinion towards the Fairy type in battle? I love them because they are kinda one of the most powerful types out there at the moment ^^ What is your favorite Fairy type team? It would be Flabebe, Togekiss, Granbull, Gardevoir, Sylveon and Azumarill ^^ Which Fairy type Pokemon do you find to be the best battler? I haven't had the chance to use any of them outside Showdown just yet because I cannot afford to buy console and x/y - so I have no experience just yet. How do you feel about "non-fairy" Pokemon getting the fairy typing but others that resemble fairies being left out? I love the way some pokemon gained fairy type - Like Mawile- Some of them really deserved it - but some of them deserved it but didn't get it on the other hand so let's hope that those get it in the next generation. |

Partner Pokemon: http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/700.png Why you like Fairies: What is your opinion towards the Fairy type in battle? I'm not gonna lie, when I first heard of the fairy type, I expected it to be weak. Boy, was I surprised! I was blown away at how well my Sylveon and other fairy types like Mawile and Gardevoir were! I was so glad there was something to counteract those OP dragons, and it finally gave Poison and Steel types some meaning. But, to be honest, in battle, I don't understand its weaknesses. Was it simply to help out Poison and Steel and give them some recognition? Or is there some sort of specific meaning towards it that I'm missing? ono Otherwise, I was extremely surprised by the durability of the Fairy types. I feel their attacks are awesome and jam packed with pain (i.e. Moonblast, Sparkling Gleam, etc.) and are overall just adorable. |

What Fairy dual typing do you wish they brought into the games?
Out of the type combinations with Fairy still yet to exist, I'd love to see a Dark/Fairy-type. There would be loads of design potential there and I think we need some evil-looking Fairy Pokemon next generation so yeah I'm hoping we get one of those. I'd also like to see Fire/Fairy and Ice/Fairy combinations as well. |
What Fairy dual typing do you wish they brought into the games?
Fairy/Fighting. Have a cute little fairy with huge muscles that would be interesting. Fairy/Dragon would also look cool, a huge scary fairy dragon. |

What is your favorite Fairy type Pokemon? Why? Well my favorite fairy type pokemon is gotta be dedenne. He is cute, he is orange, he is adorable, he has this antena tail, and he's cute. |
What duel type fairy do you hope is introduced?
Oh gosh I really really really hope they bring in a ghost/fairy. I would absolutely die of delight! I feel like that'd be a beautiful combination, too. ;u; |
Yeah, a ghost/fairy Pokémon would be wonderful. :3" If they can't think of any designs, they could just re-type Misdreavus and Mismagius and turn them into one. They're not evil-looking at all, so they would suit fairy-typing perfectly while still being a ghost.
|
I think those would be awesome choices for Fairy-Ghost actually. c:
I totally agree with that. I'd also really like to see a Fairy-Poison. We have a Fairy-Steel, so I don't see why poison wouldn't be something so far fetched. |

Fairy-poison Pokémon would be pretty cool, too. :] Have any plans on how it would look, though?
|
*cries that my idea was over-looked*
Y'know Braixen? Well, this may sound ludicrous, but maaaaybe, just maybe, if it looked similar: Light pink fur, tail dripping with poison, yellow, flashing eyes, a tutu like thing which is fur but has some sort of glittery powder on it? (it's bio might explain, haha) and small ears with silver at the top. Maybe it's claws are dark purple and stuff? Yeah, my imagination is freaky buuut there's my idea. xD |

http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_me7hgwb5jM1qjwd8go1_500.jpg Seems fairly appropriate. Death's Trumpet would be much cooler, but they're actually quite edible. Angel's Trumpet can be rather deadly, too. I think they'd be pretty good things to work off of. Oh- I'd like to join, happenstance. Name: PumpJack Partner: Xerneas, ♥♥♥♥ yeah. Why I lurv de Fairies: I see them as essentially being the much vaunted "Light" type that people have been fan-creating ever since Gold/Silver, but some more flexibility ("Light" to me seems to lack much purpose other than being the anti-Dark). It's type dynamics work well in further balancing the game- not to mention that it opens up reams of potential for new 'mons. While I'm not a huge fan of some of the fairies, the ones I do like are of a quality that far surpasses my disappointment with the ones which I find a little- uninspired or somewhat lacking in design. |
Welcome to the club you guys!!
I'm loving all of these ideas for the fairy dual typing. .u. Like, a LOT.
