Nick January 3rd, 2014 5:14 PM

I hate getting up early in the morning, but I would rather have morning classes than later classes. By the time its, like, 4:00, I'm ready for the day to end and not really in a mood to do anything but lie in bed and watch TV or internet. Class is just not in the cards. Where-as, if I start my day with class, I actually have a better day.

Honest January 3rd, 2014 5:16 PM

My problem is my lack of sleep coming to hurt me in morning classes. I always dosed off in the 8 AM class, ah. But the main reason I'd want a late class was to stay away from home, honestly. If only I dormed. ;c

I applied for table tennis course over the summer so I have something to do during the break, get exercise, and fill credits faster.

Wait, you're getting credits for playing table tennis?

Ultramarine January 3rd, 2014 8:22 PM

No fair! You're living my dream!

I kinda love ping pong.

Tsutarja January 3rd, 2014 8:25 PM

Earning credits for playing table tennis? Holy **** I wish I could do that.

I absolutely loathe the structure of high school compared to college. In high school, 50-80% of your grade is a bunch of "assignments", and the rest is tests.

I want it to be like college, where you write a few papers, do a few projects, and (of course) go and listen to lectures, and call it a freakin' day. No bookwork, TRIMS, all this meaningless public education crap. Just what matters.

Eh, you can skimp out on attendance (at least in my college you can) if you're good with work. Had a 34% attendance rate for one class and got a B+.

Reminds me of my friend who promptly skipped his math class all semester, and then proceeded to ace his final.

I want his math skills..

alisaie January 3rd, 2014 10:26 PM

wow i kind of want to punch him in the face I suck at math and it's just... not the subject for me. ;;

I want his ability to skip class and ace the final in general. xD That is...wow.

Speaking of math. No more math classes for me. I'm so happy. :)

Nolafus January 3rd, 2014 10:52 PM

I'm going to have to take my first college math class next quarter. D:

Alexander Nicholi January 3rd, 2014 11:03 PM

You know, "assignments" in high school are there to make it easy for the unenlightened. This is coming from someone with a 92% average on assessments/exams and a 31/32 practice sophomore ACT score.

Sector January 3rd, 2014 11:15 PM

I've met more people who doesn't like nor is good at math.

I completed math in my sophomore year of high school (10th grade). I didn't have to take math anymore if I didn't want to go all the way to Calculous. Instead, I took Accounting 'cause I can sleep & still get A's in that class, which I did B)

It's honestly not that bad. I took pre-calc because I was going to be a comp sci minor, and I would have had to take a few semesters of calc and discrete as well. But I got tied up in my music major classes and never had the time or free credits to follow through with the comp sci minor. It's for the best though, because coding really isn't my favorite thing to do anyway - I'm more of a hardware person.

Nolafus January 3rd, 2014 11:29 PM

Yeah, the way the placement testing goes in my college is that whatever class you failed at for the test, they place you in the class below it. So technically, I've already passed this class, but they want me to pay and go through it anyway. :/

That's stupid. The only thing you had to take at my college was freshman algebra, which I placed out of and into pre-calc...which I only took because it was a prereq for some of the comp sci/math classes in the minor.

alisaie January 3rd, 2014 11:33 PM

I believe my college worked like Morkula's? idk apparently I cannot make it past pre-cal so I've given up trying with math (and science) and trying to see how I like more creative subjects like writing and drawing.

Then watch me like my chemistry class the most because what is my life and figuring out what I want to do with it.

Nolafus January 3rd, 2014 11:44 PM

I just realized, my first class starts at 7:30 in the morning... D:

alisaie January 3rd, 2014 11:50 PM

Mon/Wed/Fri my first class (and only class Friday) is at 11. Tues/Thurs is at 9:30 and every day i'm at the college for basically all day hnng. At least it will hopefully help me be more studious. And have a better sleep schedule.

And maybe get people to hate me and my very loud laptop.

Shining Raichu January 3rd, 2014 11:58 PM

Algebra was like my *****. I loved Math, I came top of my grade in it with 96%. Then again came top of my grade in 4 of the 5 subjects in twelfth grade...

Don't be intimidated, I was just an overachiever and I peaked in high school.

If someone could find the larger version of this because I can't that'd be great.

Soo...
if I'm understanding this correctly (what I really hope that I do), this is like the place of totally random conversation I've been sort of looking for, right?
And as it appears the current topic of the conversation seems to be about math...
oh hell no

You nailed it. Pretty much every topic that can possibly come up will come up here. :)

That's good (I guess) because I'm rather certain I'll be fine with any of these potential topics that may come up here c:
(Obviously except the ones I might not contribute to for some reasons)
