Do we have to sign up again? Or no? If we have to then here is my sign up form again ( did I to be safe.)

Name: Venitardus
Pick 2 partner Pokémon: Blaziken, charmander
Reason(s) for liking fire types?: My favorite type out of them all. Lol. I like the color read and I love fire in general. Since charmander was my first ever pokemon partner, I just fell in love in fire-types, and I always had one on my team in all the games. I also love most of the fire type pokemon designs. They all are very unique.

What is your favorite fire type starter?: mine would have to be charmander, because he was my first ever starter. I fell in love with him from the get go. Also, now with X and Y has came out, I love him even more.

Hikamaru December 29th, 2013 7:32 AM

Name: Hikari10
Pick two Fire-type Partner Pokémon: Chimchar, Chandelure
Reason(s) for liking Fire-types: They are delicate, but powerful in battle, plus they handle a lot of common types like Grass, Bug, Steel and Ice as their most notable weakness. And they tend to have awesome designs too!

What is your favorite Fire-type starter?

A cross between the Chimchar and Fennekin lines for me. Chimchar's line became a fave of mine because I love monkeys and Infernape learns really good attacks, making him my starter of choice every time I play Diamond, Pearl and Platinum which is a bit odd because I'm usually one who picks Water starters, but it always did its job for me well. And I used Kinniekins the Fennekin which I got from Shauna in X for a while, I do love the whole mage/witch theme they did with Fennekin's evos there. Something nice and different from what we've seen in past generations.

Name:Talli
Pick two Fire-type Partner Pokémon: Flareon,Victini
Reason(s) for liking Fire-types: They may have a number of weakness that other the types but they are still one of my favorite types.

What is your favorite Fire-type starter?
Torchic because it's a chicken that is an fire type and the first food based pokemon.

lightmaster720 December 29th, 2013 9:49 AM

hey fellow fire-type pokemon lovers! i'm fairly new to pokecommunity.com and pokemon games.

Username: lightmaster720
Partner Pokemon: Charmander and Growlithe
Reason for Loving Fire-type Pokemon: I've always liked fire in general. I'm fairly new to pokemon games( just started playing them around 2-3 months ago) but ,I'm not sure if this is true or not since I was a little kid, I remember watching pokemon episodes when i was a little kid and I also read a book about pokemon about two and a half years ago and charmander was the main character's first pokemon( I don't think the book was about Ash Ketchum) and over the course of the whole book charmander evolved into charmeleon and then into charizard and since then i have loved charmander and fire-type pokemon. I also tend to usually like pokemon who look really cool and think they're powerful and tend to usually think pokemon who don't look cool are really weak.Of course this isn't always true but it's true for charizard since he/she is really cool-looking AND really powerful, especially Mega Charizard Y.I like Growlithe because I've wanted a dog since I was a little kid but my parents refuse to buy me one till next year and I already like fire-type because of the reasons listed above so Growlithe is like my dream fire-type dog and it resembles the dog I'm gonna hopefully get next year(I'm actually hoping to get a siberian husky next year), and so, that's why i absolutely love fire-type pokemon. My favorite fire-type starter pokemon would be charmander since it can eventually evolve into MEGA CHARIZARD Y.However,I don't have pokemon x or y yet but I'm probably gonna order one of them in a few days.( not sure which one to get, pokemon x or pokemon y. Any comments that would help me decide would be immensely appreciated.)

They all are very unique.

What is your favorite fire type starter?: mine would have to be charmander, because he was my first ever starter. I fell in love with him from the get go. Also, now with X and Y has came out, I love him even more.

Welcome! Charmander is typically my choice as well, but Torchic and its evolutions fall pretty close.

Welcome! I enjoyed using Fennekin because of Delphox's power as a Psychic-type. I honestly haven't played through Platinum a whole lot but when I did I used Piplup. It was the first time I didn't like the Fire-type starter a whole lot. I have to agree that Fire-types have awesome designs.

Torchic because it's a chicken that is an fire type and the first food based pokemon.

Food based Pokémon? o.O Haha, but either way it is one of my favorite starters ever, so I can't exactly disagree.

It sounds like you may have read of one the Mangas? I can't pinpoint that exactly, but that's what I get from the context. If you like Mega Charizard Y, I suggest you go with Y because that will be the only way you can get it until Pokémon Bank gets up and running.

A big thank you to all of you for helping me to get this ball rolling again. (Fireball? o.O) I look forward to some input as this is the first club I am running. To answer the question by Venitardus, I would prefer that everyone signs up again because the sign-up form was not at all the type I would've used.

Reason for liking Fire-types: They are power players, they have so many moves that are both flashy and powerful, and can burn you. Even if they're up against their weaknesses (Water, Rock and Ground), they can still inflict damage if their Fire moves are powerful (like Fire Blast and Blaze Burn) or using a Sunny Day/SolarBeam combination.

Welcome! As always, the teams are insane lol. I like Moltres as it is my favorite Legendary Pokémon and Ho-oh...I've always been torn because I realized its power but I was always a fan of Lugia more. On Charmander, I couldn't agree more.

Welcome! Vulpix/Ninetales have grown on me so much recently because I never realized their potential until this year. Charizard is Charizard, I don't have to say anymore how much I like it. Tepig to Emboar became one of those cases of "Fire/Fighting again?" where I still stand firmly with Blaziken. Cyndaquil is a dark horse for me because it doesn't get a ton of special moves to take advantage of, but it still has the power to put down opponents with it's Fire-type moves.

The member list will be updated tomorrow night (EST) and hopefully over the course of this week I will get some events and more topics together to really get us going.

Pick two Fire-type Partner Pokémon: Torkoal and Vulpix
Reason(s) for liking Fire-types: I've always been fascinated by fire for as long as I can remember. I'm no pyromaniac but I just like it. Like in shows that featured elements, my favorite characters would always be the ones that had some relation to fire like Sailor Mars (and this was before I liked pokemon) or hey, pretty much every fire-bender in Avatar. So I really don't know why I like fire-types so much, but I always start with them. Maybe it also has to do with how I hate bugs irl and I can't swim so water is a no-no idk

My favorite starter would probably be Cyndaquil (not evolved). Quilava's okay but idk Typhlosion is just whatever. Counting in evolutions, it's between Charmander and Torchic.

lightmaster720 December 30th, 2013 3:53 PM

but if you get x cant you get the mega charizard y stone by trading with someone who has pokemon y(which im sure plenty of people have).and the book i read the title was just Pokemon and it wasnt a manga it was a written book, not too big, around a 100 pages, with a lot of pokemon pictures, and your rival is the prof oak's grandson Gary.

Welcome! I feel exactly the same way you do about fire. Torkoal was always a strange one to me and I always hated battling it in Emerald (Flannery...!). Cyndaquil is probably my favorite unevolved as well. I always liked in the anime how it could turn the fire on its back on and off. Evolutions definitely go to Charmander and Torchic though.

You can do that, you'd just have to find someone willing to give it away and have something worth giving to someone else for it.

I'll go ahead and start a new topic, Wicked (if you don't mind, of course!). Of the two Charizard forms introduced in X&Y, which is your most favorite? Personally, I like Charizard Y. It's got an amazing-looking design, and it isn't so bad when it comes to battling. Charizard X is good at battling as well, but its design, though... I'm not very fond of it. In my opinion, its color scheme just doesn't go along with it too well. ):

Of the two Charizard forms introduced in X&Y, which is your most favorite?

Nice topic. For me, my favorite is Mega Chatizard X. I like the design and the new typing of fire/dragon. I always thought charizard, along with its evolutionary chain, looked like dragons. I don't like the color scheme either, though I have seen the shiny verion of it and I really do like that! :)

Of the two Charizard forms introduced in X&Y, which is your most favorite?

Definitely Charizard X, it's helped me in a lot of sky battles in my X playthrough right now and the Fire/Dragon typing has some good type coverage together. Plus, he's awesome, and I guess I finally overcame my hate of Charizard for that very reason.

Probably Fennekin. Its cuteness won me over in both the anime and games.. though Cyndaquil is a close second for similar reasons. It's hard to choose between the two but if I had to I'd probably lean towards Fennekin for the cool typing when fully evolved and neat magician-like design.

Although i don't have X/Y, I'm ordering them tomorrow, i think Megazard Y is better because like Nymphadora said it has an amazing design and it looks SO much better with bigger wings. Megazard X's wings are different than the regular kind of wings and it's flames are blue and i think that makes Megazard X totally different from the regular charizard we all love.

I like both. Mega Charizard Y has Drought as its ability, which boosts Fire moves and Solar Beam can be used in one turn instead of two. Mega Charizard X is part Dragon, which is awesome, and has a cool design and colors.

mayuyu December 31st, 2013 12:36 PM

I've always felt that Charizard Y was the more "correct" Mega evolution (or at least what I'd expect from a Charizard Mega evolution) because they just changed so much with Charizard X. But I prefer Charizard X because it's basically a shiny Charizard with BLUE fire. That's pretty cool.

I hate the weird thing Charizard X has on it's shoulders though, and the way it's always breathing out that blue fire out of its mouth.

Welcome! Flareon is one of the most underrated Pokémon there is these days, but it's still very cool (it's an Eeveelution, duh). Fennekin turned out to be the best starter since Torchic if you ask me. Fire/Psychic was awesome to have.

For me its Charizard Y.

Past topics:

That would be Charmander, then Cyndaquill.

Kikaito plush January 2nd, 2014 6:34 AM

I haven't tried out Charizard Y yet so I have to go for Charizard X. Charizard X has a cooler design than Charizard Y.

Sheep January 2nd, 2014 9:32 AM

Of the two Charizard forms introduced in X&Y, which is your most favorite?

I like both but X looks way cool.. plus he finally gets the dragon typing, yay. Y is great in its own way though, especially in competitive battling since it gets Drought. So X for design, Y for usefulness in (competitive) battling!

Disintegrate me with your mind? I think you belong in the Psychic-type club. Haha but welcome! I definitely agree with you though. They make for some very original creations especially as the series went on.

The X/Y Charizard debate is definitely closer than I imagined. I personally think X is a lot cooler looking and makes for a better all-purpose Pokémon, but Y makes for a beast of a Special Attacker and a very viable Solarbeam user. X is still my choice overall though.

New topic for you all to ponder:

What type would you like to see paired with Fire-type?

I always wanted to see if they could come up with something clever for a Fire/Water Pokémon because I never could think of anything. I also think a Fire/Grass type would make an interesting Pokémon.

Venitardus January 6th, 2014 4:14 PM

What type would you like to see paired with Fire-type?

I always wanted a fire/water and fire/grass.
I also want to see fire/fairy type. It be sweet to kick some dragon ass with a fire type.

Hiatus January 6th, 2014 5:12 PM

A fire/grass-type would definitely be pretty cool; I agree. I could imagine this Pokémon being covered in wood, with leaves stuck onto its body which are burning. Haha. A water/fire Pokémon would be awesome as well. Volcanion (one of the un-announced Pokémon of X and Y) is said to be a fire/water-type, but... I'm not exactly sure how it looks or how good it is in battling. d:

Demon Wolf January 6th, 2014 5:15 PM

BadPokemon January 7th, 2014 2:22 PM

Fire, fairy would be cool. Fire, ground and fire, rock would also be good. Fire, steel is also needed. Fire, poison would be awesome!

I didn't know that. Cool! Any other ground, fire types?

Wicked3DS January 7th, 2014 3:37 PM

Fire/Rock exists with Magcargo, Fire/Ground with Numel and Camerupt, and Fire/Steel with Heatran (though there are none that aren't legendary).

We actually discussed a couple of Fire/Poison type possibilities over in the Poison-type club. One was a snake and one was a gaseous form (I was told not to reveal anymore at the risk of noogies D: )

a snake Fire/Poison would definitely be interesting.

I would love to see more fire/electric type pokemon. There is only one fire/electric that is heat rotom.
There are so many pure fire type pokemons ><

Well said :P But if you actually ask around, many of the hardcore gamers of Pokemon would give you the same answer that they'd like to see Charizard as a Dragon/Fire or even as a Triple Type Pokemon with Dragon/Fire/Flying capabilities............. It already has some Dragon moves like Dragon Rage and Dragon Claw.............

My Blaziken was accidentally named as (.,) by me and my brother............ We played on through with it and eventually won the league............. After completing all the events in Pokemon Sapphire, we realized that there's a guy who changes Pokemon nicknames! But I didn't change it and I still have kept that save file safely ............

What is your favorite Fire-type starter?

My favorite starter would be Cyndaquil. It is well balanced in that game and does not get much advantage during the beginning of the journey as opposed to other games which have a Rock Type Gym as the first one(talking only about the first three generations)............

Avishka January 10th, 2014 11:28 PM

I complete forgot about fire/dragon type :(
I'd absolutely love to see more fire/dragon ...two of my fave types together <33

Fernbutter January 11th, 2014 12:14 AM

What type would you like to see paired with Fire-type?

Dragon, I don't know it's just really cool, and would really like to see more of that.
Second would be Ghost, not much of that I believe.

Wicked3DS January 11th, 2014 6:52 AM

All this Dragon talk makes me think that Megazard X wasn't enough to satisfy those calling for Fire/Dragon :P

Chandelure is the only Ghost/Fire-type out there. I'd like to see another one someday.

Avishka January 11th, 2014 7:09 AM

nope Mega Charizard X is not enough....i want to see more fire/dragon. :p

another fire/ghost would be nice.

BadPokemon January 11th, 2014 7:21 AM

I agree, fire/ghost is another cool typing. It could look like a horse. It's counterpart could be fire/fairy in a different game. (Kind of like Sawk and Throh, but different typing). It could look like a unicorn.

Wicked3DS January 11th, 2014 8:04 AM

I don't know about a horse. We already have Ponyta and Rapidash so it would basically just be a Ghost version of them.

Venitardus January 11th, 2014 9:00 AM

We have reshiram as fire/dragon too. Even though I love charizard X, I wouldn't mind seeing another non-legend (and non-mega) fire/dragon.

And also seeing another ghost/fire would be nice. I don't know about a horse, but deffinetlu another ghost/fire would be nice in the future.

Kikaito plush January 11th, 2014 9:10 AM

Two Dragon/fire pokemon is enough if you ask me as we don't want it to become OTT which this typing. yes a another fire/ghost would be awesome as we only have 1.

Hikamaru January 11th, 2014 12:28 PM

What type would you like to see paired with Fire-type?

I'd like to see Fire paired with Fairy. We've had the other two starter types paired with Fairy (Azumarill for Water, and Whimsicott for Grass) so yeah I'd like to see how they'd pull off a fiery fairy and given the Fairy-types we have so far it shows they have some good potential for one design-wise.

Dragon_Trainer_ January 11th, 2014 8:38 PM

Well Fire/Dragon is a very great combination and is usually exhibited by many Pokemon even though they don't show the type.......... Many Pokemon like Charizard can use the moves Dragon pulse, Dragon rage, etc. but they aren't Dragon types.......

Fire/Ghost types are cool too............. Anyone else being reminded of Ghost Rider by that?

lol but a dinosaur like ghost/fire pokemon will be awesome xD

Wicked3DS January 12th, 2014 6:21 AM

Running from fiery fossils, eh? That would make for an interesting plot twist. But a dinosaur skeleton is definitely an interesting proposal for sure.

BadPokemon January 12th, 2014 7:35 AM

That is what I was thinking...a horse skeleton with flames. I almost mentioned ghost rider. A dinosaur with flames? Cool stuff. What kind of dinosaur?

Dragon_Trainer_ January 13th, 2014 3:37 AM

Well I don't know........... It could be any type........... I'd like it to transform like it did in Ghost Rider or in Digimion, from Agumon to Skull Greymon..............

How about we go into a multitype with Fire/Electric ad Fire/Fairy........... Do any pokemon under both of these categories exist? O.o

Avishka January 13th, 2014 6:47 AM

how about T-rex or some other huge dinosaur?
I want it to be huge and badass scary :p

Pick two Fire-type Partner Pokémon: Arcanine and Houndoom

Reason(s) for liking Fire types:

Fire types are arguably one of the best types out there. With flashy moves, high attack, not much defense and good designs. Plus consider this. Which one would you rather use? Fire-breathing dragon or a rock with fists? I've always enjoyed playing with fire, even outside of Pokemon. (*cough* Annie and Tibbers *cough*) But that's off topic so yeah, let's move on shall we? D;

What type would you like to see paired with Fire-type?

I'd love to see fire/water. If complete opposites such as water/electric can be created why not fire/water? I mean the only thing I can imagine right now is a steaming kettle that shoots fireballs but it'd be fascinating at the very least. I'm also surprised fire/dragon hasn't been created yet. In mythology, most dragons breathe fire. And 6 generations later, we've had hydras, cute postman dragons, slimy ones, all sorts. But no fire breathing ones. C'mon Gamefreak, give us something great. Other than the fire/dragon duo, I'd say fire/poison as well. It'd be an interesting combo combining two deadly things, don't you think?

Fernbutter January 14th, 2014 3:17 AM

Hmm there seems to be a lot of feed back from Fire/Ghost, but seriously there really is only one. C'mon Gamefreak! Step it up!

I find it hard though to think of one, I mean, Fire/Ghost sounds positively amazing, and I would love to see more of that, but I guess it is kinda hard for them to just think something up like that -^-

I'm not really a big fan of its design, to be honest. To me, it just looks too... robotic. xD" Would've made a lot more if it was fire/steel instead of fire/water, in my opinion. I know that we already have a fire- and steel-type in Heatran, but it definitely wouldn't hurt to have another.

I agree. Having another fire/steel type wouldn't hurt, especially if it was Volcanion typing. I would've had it designed better since it is a fire/water.

It looks a bit umm, steel-ish?? I mean I don't really know what I had expected when I heard about Fire/Water, but that looks a little far'fetched don't you think so yourself?

I thought it was a fake min at first as well. At the moment it's still an unannounced Pokémon, but I've seen hackers 'running in to it' in there game. (Same with Diancia and whatever other one is called.)

I think it's not what any of us expected, tbh. I still have to agree with everyone that it's a fire steel type cause of its design

Wicked3DS January 15th, 2014 4:11 PM

I'm pretty sure it's not a fakemon because it shows up pretty often if you search for it. I guess that doesn't mean much, but I would venture to say its real. As far as being Fire/Water, it really does look more Steel than Water.

Welcome! Typhlosion is awesome, I can't argue with you there. As for the userbar, yes, that would be great! Make it with a Charizard as it would be the staple of the Fire-types, and if you are so inclined, make more than one with some other Pokémon if you feel motivated, but you don't have to if you don't want to.

No problem, I love making them so I'll probably make more. If anyone has any requests let me know!

Also, as a casual and competitive Pokemon player, I think a Fire/Grass Pokemon would be very interesting. I wonder how Game Freak would design that kind of Pokemon. I think a burn pit would make a pretty interesting design for a Grass/Fire Pokemon. On the competitive sides of things it would be very interesting because it'd only be weak to Flying, Rock, and Poison (I think) and resist Fairy, Grass, Steel, Electric. I think it could be a pretty solid Pokemon.

Hackers..........? Last I checked the 3DS was still untouched by them............ Anyhow, this topic has raised quite some controversy......... Is it a Fakemon? Is it really Fire/Water? Does such a dual type exist?

Could it be that they're doing what they did with one of their earlier games? I heard that in one of the games, I don't recall which one, Game freak had intentionally hidden some of the Pokemon........ Like a whole Generation......... After a successful launch and expected stability after 6-7 months they announced that the game was more than what me the eye......... In special online events, the features were unlocked and all the Pokemon suddenly became quite abundant in the game which apparently had no trace of them before........... I mean, it's not unexpected for them to try it again with a few Pokemon.......... Or could it be another prank?

A whole generation? Like the next game worth of Pokémon?

Still seems odd that it would be the case with new Pokémon, but who knows.

Well there was that one guy, who was talking about how his region was so much better than Kalos and that we'd "see it soon." I wonder if that could be relevant in any way.

I guess we can't rule out that possibility either, then again, at this point anything is possible. Where can I find the guy that says that?

I think he is found in different hotels and apparently when you talk to him 4 days in a row something happens.

Name: Indiancharizard# Two fire type pokemon partners : Charizard and Pignite why i like fire types: because they are hot and chilli. And i really enjoy watching thier attacks. Current topics: Charmander is my favorite starter. Charizard X is my favorite out of those two.

Welcome! Can't argue with the choice of Charmander and Charizard X. They do have really cool attacks too.

A couple of things: I added two more userbars featuring Mega Chaizard X that Rapidfir3Pho3nix made, they are on the first post as usual. Also, I'd like to propose a new topic:

What are some Fire-type Pokémon that you think should have a type added or changed?

I'd like to see some creative answers here if you can think of some (Charizard for Dragon-type is so overdone...)

I'd agree with charizard being changed to fire/dragon type.
But I can see typhosion being Fire/Normal for some reason. I always thought it could've been that type (I think it's always been the color scheme.)
