What do you do with filler Pokemon from Wonder Trade?

what to do with weedles off wonder trade

I only got one, which was German so I used it to shiny hatch, but what do YOU do with them?

note: pokemon like caterpie, fletching, bunnelby, stc. count.

actually, I got 2 fletching, whom I taught good TMs and re-traded.

[Note from tabor62: I'd assume this is a discussion about what I edited the title into as it was implied. So discuss away!]
[Note from natnew: it was. thanks]

I'll often release them if they're low level stuff anyone can catch.

If it's a starter or something cool that I already have and don't need, I'll re-wonder trade it in the off-chance that someone else might appreciate it.

Other language ones I'll keep for myself in case I ever feel like using them for shiny hatching.

LedahAngel January 18th, 2014 2:15 PM

I would breed it for ivs and ot wise other then that i would just release them.

TwilightBlade January 18th, 2014 3:20 PM

If it's something found on the beginning route and doesn't have any remarkable stats, I toss it. I don't want it circulating back around in Wonder Trade.

If it's something I don't necessarily need, but can see someone out there putting it to good use, I turn it over back into the Wonder Trade.

In the beginning, when working towards the dex, I accepted those Weedle and such, baha. Traded Pokemon get boosted Experience.

Absol January 18th, 2014 3:49 PM

If horrible Pokemon I release so others don't get them. If it's IV breeding leftovers or something with egg moves I already have I put it back up so others can use it.

That's a good idea blade. I didn't think of that hmmm

Azire January 18th, 2014 4:11 PM

Release unless it's 5IV or 4IV with Egg Moves. 3 and under get released regardless of region, Egg Moves etc.

Death January 18th, 2014 4:43 PM

I keep them for lotto ID purposes because it's almost impossible to wonder trade with the same person. I never put Pokemon I get from WT back in.

MawChomp January 18th, 2014 6:41 PM

I keep them for lotto id as well and I don't bother returning them back in WT.

Xerneas_X January 19th, 2014 8:28 AM

Releasing is probably the best thign to do.. the world is flooded with tens and thousands of pointless WT pokes that are extremely common :|

Aeroblast January 19th, 2014 8:32 AM

I found a new use for them as clone fodders.

Natnew January 20th, 2014 3:25 AM

I'm hating fletchling w/a passion right now... how can I get people to stop?

~Hikozaru~ February 2nd, 2014 12:06 AM

I always just trade them back! Great way to get PokeMiles and OP Pokemon ;3

Skirovik February 5th, 2014 9:14 PM

I use them for Lotto ID. It's the only good use for them.

TakeshiKun February 6th, 2014 9:35 AM

Depending on the level and move set I'll check the IVs. I have gotten quite a few 4-6 IV'd mons off wonder trade. Best thing I've gotten so far is either a 5 iv honedge, or a shiny eevee.

DragonairBreeder February 6th, 2014 10:23 AM

I generally just release the lower level Pokemon. I have started raising any Scatterbug/Spewpa I receive in hopes that it will become a different variation of Vivillon. This has happened two or three times now!

Pendraflare February 9th, 2014 11:47 AM

If they're garbage that I know i'm never gonna look at, like Bunnelby or Scatterbug, I often release them. I've gotten some neat things off of WT, but some disgusting.

If they have at least a couple perfect IVs i'll hold on to them, but if they don't, they're usually gonna get the boot.

Sandslash Fan February 9th, 2014 3:40 PM

I tend to keep anything I get from Wonder Trade or GTS. Even if it's junk, it counts for a unique ID number that increases my odds of getting 1st place at the Poke Lottery :)

I want more Master Balls!

TheZet February 11th, 2014 7:54 AM

I never release Pokémon. Any wonder trade Pokémon are kept for a while. When I run out of Pokémon that I hatched, I start wonder trading away Pokémon I recieve from others.

Sydian February 12th, 2014 2:56 PM

I normally don't like to release things, but because I breed a lot, I end up with way more than I need so releasing happens. That being said though, I also Wonder Trade a lot. Like Lilith, when I get useless Pokemon, especially first route stuff, I usually just release them. Things that were obviously bred, rare Pokemon, or foreign Pokemon are either re-traded or kept at my discretion. I tend to keep a lot of Eevee, any Braixen I get (I'm hoarding them, I'm not even gonna deny it), and foreign Pokemon that I like.

Minato Arisato February 12th, 2014 8:43 PM

Oh, gosh darn it. I forgot about the lottery thing. I guess I could keep all the Pokemon from WT instead of just releasing them. I've certainly got the space for it.

Shrew February 14th, 2014 10:43 AM

I'm currently stockpiling them for Loto-IDs. One day I'm going to release ones with redundant 3-last digits... I was kinda hoping that Pokebank would have had an easy way to sort things by player ID, but I guess I can do it by spreadsheet. 8^)

The Feves February 14th, 2014 2:25 PM

I'm a big fan of Wonder Trade. I love the quick simplicity of trading with other people without getting frustrated from looking for something specific. I've learned that its a little less than 50/50 of people breeding to the people just tossing whatever cruddy pokemon they've just caught onto WT.

Whenever I get something that someone clearly just caught to throw up on WT I find myself releasing them back into the wild. When someone's been clearly breeding, I like to look over the pokemon more thoroughly before deciding whether or not I'm going to rerelease it onto WT or just release it into the wild.

I like seeing what people are breeding. I also like sharing my hard-to-get, bred Pokemon with everyone else!

Absol February 15th, 2014 1:10 PM

I hope whoever is trading those horrible Pokemon are happy to be receiving flawless shinies in return lol The worse the Pokemon is the more I want to trade better Pokemon to make Wonder Trade better for others. Please don't trade a Weedle you caught hoping for one of my shinies though. :(

BakingBluePotatoe February 16th, 2014 4:07 PM

if it's something caught before the point where I'm at, and it's english, I just stash them in a box to use as junk, since I have a habit of helping hold items for people when they're restarting. Sometimes I take a few out if the box is getting to be more than halfway full and spread Pokerus to them and trade 'em away.

I fit's something that's not English or German, I usually keep it in a box with all my other foreign Pokemon.

German Pokemon I just retrade if I can just get one myself later on. (My game is in German anyway)

Omicron February 16th, 2014 7:54 PM

So far, I've kept them all. I like receiving breeding leftovers because they help me complete my dex, haha.

I'll probably release the worse ones when I'm running out of space, just like you guys.
