Catching Latias
I really need some help capturing my Latias on sapphire version. I have met all the requirements. Beaten elite 4 and watched the television. I have not even seen it once. I have been following Bayleef instructions for 2 hours. Go to route 117 go in ot grassy area turn on and off until it appears. I have doen this for 2 hours and nothing. Im just wondering can anyone else give me a hand on catching/Following latias.

Well there are many ways to catch Latias:
1.Use a masterball 2.Use mean look on Latias then try to catch it with ultra balls. It took me almost 1 week to find her, but there is a faster way, use a rappel and put a pokemon 30 - 40 lvl in the first place in party. |

Latias 45 i think it is as you are going off topic. ^^
On Topic: Golbat knows Mean Look ^^. Also how would putting a weaker pokemon in the front of my team make it easier for latias to show. Where on the sapphire version was the place taht most people caught her? Thanks for your help^^ Still need some more though. - Lone Eevee |
sorry about that .what do you need help whith?

Just do this save your Masterball.Any other pokemon that is worth of any cathing you can save in front of.So once you encounter Latias use your masterball. If you wanna save it go for it, but it'll be very hard to catch with any other type of ball.Good Luck!

Latios/Latias won't appear if your lead pokemon is a higher level than it, if I remember correctly.
The method I used was to go to a patch of grass, save the game, use a repel, run around for a bit, restart, use repel, run around again, and keep doing it until it appears. That's the same way I caught Suicune and Raikou (Haven't redone game for Entei yet..) And as far as I've tested, it's the best way. Less than 5 minutes for them, unless you get kinda unlucky. |
Ok, in that case lets do this.Either get a pokemon with hypnosis/sleeppowder(bulbasaur/gastly), or get a pokemon with meanlook(zubat/golbat).
when you run into them use that pokemon. Then try and get them to a low amount of life, even if they run theirlife will remain the same.Have a good supply of Ultraballs, or try and carry out the battle for long ime and use a timerball. |
get a pokemon first in your party that's 35-40, and use repel, which blocks any pokemon weaker than your first party member. repeat this all over, and if you get lucky it will appear. this might take a while. okay so now that it's on your pokedex get a pokemon taht knows mean look or whose ability blocks escape. make sure it has high speed and use mean look immediately. then whittle its HP down and then catch it with ultra balls. hope this helps!

I used Mean Look, and paralyzed it. It took forever (almost all 99 of my Ultra Balls), but I finally caught it.

When it appears (you'll have to keep travelling :P), stick Wobbuffet out first, then switch to you Ninjask which you left as a Nincada until it learned False Swipe. Wobbuffet's effects last for the entire battle, so False Swipe away. When it's down to one, get something with Sleep Powder, then throw millions of balls until you catch it.
Alternitavely, just use the Master Ball if you have it... :P |

When Wobuffet faints, then say goodbye to Latias I'm afraid. Also, if you've never seen Latias before, then just randomly wander around routes until you do, but make sure you have Wobby in your party. If you don't use the Repel, then Latias will still appear no matter what your Pokemon's levels.

Yes. But this applies to all the Pokemon in your party, not just the top one.

It's OK ^_^ This isn't for the Turn Off trick, just generally. Try going in every single route, and in every patch of grass and stretch of water. That's what I did to get my Latias.
