Yeah, I see what you guys mean about the song being annoying, closed my 2DS by mistake and I had to do it all over again, such a chore. As for the buddy-buddy prosecutor in Klavier, I think it fits with Apollo. He's inexperienced, needs a lot of help, and its Klavier's way of downplaying his role in the cases. Of course, I dunno if its the best solution to make it different from Phoenix's inexperience in the first game and his relations to the old prosecutors, considering how I never played the other games. But I do think its all great, I find the good in everything.

Hm...strange. AGDQ started today and Spinosaurus hasn't mentioned it.

Whelp, I might as well explain what I can (though not as well as him, he gets pretty into it). AGDQ is the first of two Speed Running events during the year that runs from today, the fourth, to the eleventh.

Quote:

Games Done Quick is a bi-annual charity gaming marathon. Volunteers play games at incredible speed ("Speedrunning") for entertianment. The event is streamed live online, non-stop, and all donations go directly to the charity. This is the winter event, with a summer event starting around July.

This particular event's donations go to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. To go with the event, Humble Bundle is running an AGDQ 2015 Humble Bundle, with however much you choose to go to the charity as well. Along with that, the Yetee sells a number of (pretty incredible) shirts during this time a year (They do so year-round, but only during GDQ do we see an influx like this).

It's quite a bit of fun, coming from someone who was completely disinterested in watching speedruns prior to last year's AGDQ. Apart from knowing that you're contributing (which you probably will, in some way), the event itself can be exciting and you generally come out of it with more than you came in with (metaphorically...probably). Maybe you'll watch speedruns for games you own and then want to try out some techniques yourself, or maybe you just want to see a guy beat Super Mario 64 as fast as he can one-handed. It's not the biggest event, but it can feel like it at times, especially when someone pulls off a rather dicey technique and a roar of cheers follows.

I recommend that you guys check it out, whether you like Speedruns or not; after all, it's for a good cause.

I watch SethBling speedrun Mario World sometimes. It always looks like a good bit of fun. I might actually check this out, since I've got some computer work to do. :)

My bad. Couldn't take my eyes off the Tropical Freeze and Wario Land 4 runs. :lol

Amazing start so far.

EDIT: New page, quoting whole post!

Hi! January 7th, 2015 7:52 AM

I watched a whole bunch of AGDQ last year, was really good fun. I haven't had much time to watch it this year, but I'll definitely go back to watch runs after it's done. I remember the blindfolded Punch-Out runs, so good. People do really impressive stuff.

Yukari January 7th, 2015 7:57 AM

I'll be honest.

I have no Idea what AGDQ is.

Hi! January 7th, 2015 8:04 AM

It's a big charity event for people who speedrun games (beat games as fast as possible). Good speedrunners will go there and speedrun their game of choice live and raise money for charity while putting on a really impressive show. It's good fun.

I saw many old games near my usual retailer today:

Even some of the old Legend of Zelda games.. I'm tempted. ;__;

Hi! January 7th, 2015 10:15 AM

Have you ever played any of those? There are some good ones there, you should grab some. They'd be nice to add to the collection at least.

Also, anyone who has played Dragon Age: Inquisition. What do you think of it? From what I've seen, the world looks beautiful but the side content looks a little shallow and the combat doesn't look great. I'm just curious on the general consensus.

I... Wow. Persona 3 and 4. Kingdom hearts 1 and 2. Digital Devil Saga....

I'm almost a little jealous.

Yeah, but they're pretty expensive. Persona 4 in there's $40 while on amazon you can get it for $17 (and less on the PS3).

It's a nice collection, but I'd be wary of the pricing.

That's why I said "Almost" Jealous. The price is a more then I'd like to pay for those games.

Spinosaurus January 7th, 2015 3:39 PM

d'awww a proposal happened on AGDQ

Razer302 January 7th, 2015 4:01 PM

Least they weren't already married like same and tolki during SGDQ. I'm sure Spino will know what I'm on about.

I have watched a few runs. I have been watching speed runners in general for years. I love the more skillful runs over the glitchy runs, but each one does a great job at what they do. I was able to see the Infamous WR run, always love seeing something like that with a group of people around.

Puzzle and Dragons: Super Mario Bros Edition announced. Coming WW apparently.

I dunno if I should embrace this collab as a way to usher mobile games as bigger retail titles through the console makers, or mark this as the breaking of the 7th seal, the end of the world and all that jazz. I'm honestly confused.

Yukari January 8th, 2015 7:10 AM

It very well may be both. They're probably trying to expand the games audience and are starting Armageddon at the same time.

Seriously though, I'm kinda interested to see how this is going to turn out.

Oh. My. God.

Puzzle and Dragons was my addiction for far too many months and if I'm able to get this in the US, I will just be like a crackhead. Must have.

Yukari January 8th, 2015 1:28 PM

The more I think about it the more I want to play it...

Oh, uh...

H-hey Wilhelm! Did you know they're remaking Resident Evil!?

It looks quite pretty, I'd look out for it.
