Ok. How about this..

Breed a pokemon, of your choice, in a love ball.
You also have a choice of breeding a pokemon that is either has or can have, but not limited to; cute charm ability; attract in moveset (either learned through leveling, by breeding, or by tm); a fairy type.

I think a catch all holding several options is a good idea. It's a thematic project, but with enough diversity that we might all end up with different pokes :)

Sounds good. You're a good negotiator Venitardus. :)

Welcome to the club, Accursed! I'm glad to see a new face around here. How long have you been breeding, if you don't mind me asking?

I have been breeding since G/S. It's so much easier to breed now with the judge and all.

Venitardus January 30th, 2015 5:29 PM

Ok I know it's before February, but the project will start today/tonight. So you can start breeding when you're ready

I have bred over 40 Horsea in a love ball so far in an attempt to breed up some perfects. If I get my perfect, I'll take a picture of her :)

Saronai February 2nd, 2015 5:01 AM

As I breed my horsea in love balls, I realize that none of them have Outrage, which I worked rather hard to get on the original mother using a hydreigon father. Now my IV spread on the mother is 31.31.31.30.31.31 and outrage is gone. Worse yet, the original mother who knew it, apparently cannot be retaught it at the move relearner. *head desk* I knew there was a reason I wasn't bothering with egg moves before. I totally forgot to keep tabs on the mother's moves.

Those of you who work with egg moves, I'm curious, as I don't see the horsea family anywhere on its own egg move list, can I even pass outrage down from one horsea to another? At this point, rather than moving backwards in my breeding, I think I'll just trade the final parent to my son who is only 2 BP away from affording outrage. Not gonna bother though if one horsea cannot pass outrage down to the others?

Yes, Outrage is an egg move for Horsea.

As for my breeding....I haven't been able to start yet....partially because I just bought Bravely Default....and partially because I'm a math major.

accursed February 2nd, 2015 10:25 AM

i haven't started breeding my love ball feebas yet. Just dug out my b2 and realized i haven't beaten the game yet... need to do that before I can get anything in a love ball to my AS game.

I would like to breed a Togekiss. Does it need to know attrack and cute charm? It cant learn cute charm. Can B2 pass down pokeballs or is that only X/Y/OR/AS?

The pass of the Pokeball is only XY and OrAs exclusive. If you don't have those then you can breed any pokemon with cutec charm ability or attract. So if you have gen IV/V you can breed togekiss. As long as it at least has attract in its move pool if you post a pic.

Hey guys! I'm new to the forum and haven't joined any clubs yet and this one looked promising! I love breeding. It's the one thing I look forward too in these games so I figured I'd give this a shot c:

Name: Nekochen
Partner Pokemon: My 6iv Sableye (Fray), and my 6iv Audino (Maria). It was really hard to choose though. I have so many pokemon I have bred and grown attached to.
What would you like to breed for February's project?:
I think I would like to attempt something in a love ball! I haven't attempted getting anything in the apricorn balls before. I think it's something I would like to try. I bet Audino would be the cutest in a love ball!

Welcome to the club! And to the forums in that case.

We know how it is about just picking 2 when there are so many we got attached to.. I had a problem choosing too.

Venitardus February 10th, 2015 7:37 AM

So how's the breeding coming along?

Nekochen February 10th, 2015 1:14 PM

Thanks for the welcome! 8D I'm pretty excited. I'm still breeding actually. I was working on the last of the two teams I'm building but I'm still trying to decide what I might want to breed in a love ball. I was debating cleffa because I wouldn't mind having a clefable. I been wanting to use one again anyway c:

Thanks! I tend to be prejudiced against using stone evolved pokemon as they dont learn anything aftee evolving (excluding the eevee line). I never know when the right time to whip evolve them is and for my playthroughs I prefer not to look things up online.

After hatching very many eggs today, I eventualy hatched my goal pokemon to use for my team. A surprizing shiny Cleffa with 5IVs I've named Venus. I'm going to try post a pic as soon as I can.

Congrats though Stormer 8D I need to finish my breeding as well. I probably won't try for a shiny cleffa though. Normal Cleffa will do fine for me. I actually managed to get a shiny cleffa in wonder trade oddly enough.

I hatched yet another 6IV jolly female limber Buneary yesterday so I'm now using that one and a 6IV Japanese Ditto to breed for a shiny Buneary. Third time's the charm.. hopefully it won't end up being male this time. ~_~

Last May we did flowers, April waswelcome spring and March was the kalos starters. So a rain theme would work

Partner Pokemon: I have a lot, but I'll list my Rotom-Wash and Metagross.
I really want to breed a Clefable and a Mold Breaker Excadrill.

grassdragon March 25th, 2015 5:11 AM

*grassdragon used return* :p
Sorry I haven't been on in so long. I got caught up breeding another Shiny Charmander for a friend......and it's taking forever!!!!
If I can get this Shiny for my friend, I want to breed a Castform.

Answer the current topic. For Spring I'll mostly be breeding my Shiny Charizard-Y. I think I'm at about 400 ish eggs and no joy but i'm perservering. I got lucky breeding my Charizard-X and got a 6IVer and then a Shiny 5IVer in the same batch of 5 eggs but sadly the shiny is jolly natured so I need a better one (and hopefully female). Ive also just bred a nice new 5IV Venusaur for my team.

No worries. :) I know how long breeding a shiny starter can take. I'm still working on my charmander on X. (I was lucky to get a shiny treeko on egg #7 out of 30). But hopefully you can get that shiny for your friend soon. :)

So I've been thinking about the project and I have decided on what to do next. Rain Theme: Breed a pokemon that is either a water type or is weak to water! I have looked at the few suggestions that were given and I have seen ground and fire, which is weak to water, and I've seen a suggestion for a rain theme, with another being castform. So I thought maybe doing a rain theme isn't bad. It gives a lot of options.

Would rotom (wash) count? I've been meaning to try breeding myself one of those and it'll give me a break from seeing Charmanders in my sleep.

Welcome back! And it's a water type or what is weak to water type; so anything can go as long as it's one of those types

Thanks for letting me in! I've been breeding for a while so I thought I'd get active with the community by joining this group.

I like the idea of a rain theme. It gives me more incentive to get to work on a Mold Breaker Drilbur. I'm probably going to breed another Marill to so I can have multiple Azumarill sets.

I try not to repost stuff I got from another trader. Just a respect thing.

Also I like my shop to be unique which is why I offer my breeds even though they're not 5V/6V. If nothing else they're good starting points for other breeders to use, which is helpful

Mesuda method is probably the best way. It cuts the shiny encounter rate in half. Also it helps if you have the shiny charm. Since I was able to get 3 shinies within 24 eggs in X after receiving the charm. And having the oval charm also really helps.
As for the shiny values, you got me.

Ok plus I don't understand shiny values :'(

grassdragon April 9th, 2015 1:55 PM

When you begin a Pokemon game, you are assigned a hidden number called your SID (Secret ID). When you receive an egg, a number is generated for that egg. If the SID number for your egg number matches your trainer SID, then the Pokemon within the egg will be shiny, hence the term Shiny Value. There is no way to determine what your SID is without using a hacking device or by uploading your Pokemon onto Pokecheck.org (which has been under maintenance since Gen VI began.)

Pretty much it's any one person can post a question for the week, any and all members can answer the question at anytime. If there is two (2) questions asked within the first 5 days, it will be used for the following weeks QOTW.

My preferred method of hatching eggs is with flame body, hatching o-power and around the battle resort in oras.

In other news, I traded for a shiny 6IV japanese ditto today!

Kitrigar April 19th, 2015 11:43 AM

Thank you!

My preferred method in XY is using Flame Body, with Hatching O-Power S (also with the 4000 3DS steps trick), and riding back and forth the path at the daycare on a bike.

I usually get eggs within 30 seconds - 1 minute of cycling back and forth.

Oblox April 20th, 2015 12:10 AM

Volcarona, Hatching O-power and riding round the beach in battle resort. I did originally setup my secret base in the tree near the mauville daycare but with needing the IV checker the battle resort is much handier.

Whats the 4000 3DS steps trick?

grassdragon April 20th, 2015 10:26 AM

Talonflame, Hatching O-power 3, riding around and around in the battle resort while only pressing the A button (this is possible due to the camera shifts)

Venitardus April 20th, 2015 4:55 PM

As for me in X I use both lumiose center and the route the daycare is on with talonflame; for AS I use the battle resort as well as the bike area/travel around with the hatching power 3 and magcargo.

Partner Pokemon: Malamar and Chestnaught
Current Topic: What is your favorite method of breeding: Mine is pretty standard, Everstone Ditto with the pokemon I am breeding for the nature, then I get the egg and use Flame Body Talonflame with Hatching O-Power 3 to speed up the process.

I also have a question. If someone wouldn't mind trying to help me get up to speed a bit with this?

People talk about their breeding projects, sometimes there's group projects and now we have questions too.

No to this weeks question but yep see it reguarly updated each week.

Well I hope so. I want to be a part of this group. Because, like I imagine everyone here, I breed a lot. XD Most recently things I have bread was pokemon for a monotype ghost team. I started at about 1AM and then went to bed an hour later once I finished Chandelur. The next day I spend a few hours breeding and training up Frilish, Yamask, and Honedge

Hehe yep just put on hold a rather massive shiny Charmander breeding project, I think I was nearly a 1000 eggs in but need a break from it so just going to build up a 5IV Charizard instead for now.

Will resume shiny breeding after I've finished Y and fully kitted out my team with ribbons (Contests and Battle Maison + Kalos and Hoenn champ).

Rotom Wash is still on my list to breed but otherwise I'll be having a look round for some new ideas.

I have no projects at the moment. If someone wants to give me one I am up for it. But I think I will pass on trying for a shiny 5 IV Charmander. >~<

Pick a pokemon that you'd never considered before and breed it as good as possible. I did this for Dedenne and hes quite a fun little pokemon if a little lacking in stats, nuzzle and Play rough really irritates people in a battle!

I LOVE Dedenne! Nuzzle, Erie Impulse, Recycle and Entrainment for me all the way! XD

With Sitrus berry too

Charcoal Embers April 29th, 2015 6:59 AM

I'm not doing any big projects right now. I am just currently IV breeding a bunch of pokemon right now. So it is hard for me to say a specific one. Since IV breeding Sableye only took an hour this morning. XD But right now I am doing Zigzagoon.

I know I haven't said this yet but welcome to the club! I've been busy and away from here most of the day. If you have any questions me anytime. I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can. (Have school and work, so yeah.)

Heh, don't worry. I have school stuff as well. So long as get something fun to do from this thread or someone cool to talk to, I'll be fine here. :)

Ive decided to try breeding a Heatmor after the discussion in the pyro club. An interesting Pokemon with access to some surprising moves, even if he's not that great stat wise. Need to research some natures etc and any egg moves that are worth breeding for.

If you are going with a special Heatmor, Heat Wave and Belch would definitely be intereting choices. And if you decide that you want to try it with Physical... You could try Curse with it's Night Slash and Sucker Punch

Oblox April 30th, 2015 6:13 AM

Definitely going for special with Giga drain and seeing what else works well with it, belch sounds ok except for the berry requirement but may take a look.

Maybe Special Attack invested with some HP and Speed with a Salac berry. Then give it Gluttony so that it eats that Berry at Half Health instead of 1/4.

Also, forgot to mention but in the time I last said I Breeded a Stockpile Snorlak, a Support Clawizer, and I am currently IV breeding an Ambipom

Charcoal Embers April 30th, 2015 6:22 AM

There is an idea! Stockpile, Giga Drain, Heat WAve, Belch with PEteya/Salac

Venitardus May 2nd, 2015 6:25 AM

So how is everyone's breeding coming along.

Charcoal Embers May 2nd, 2015 6:35 AM

Just IV breeding a Heliolisk, and a Bronzor for a friend of mine. And now I am about to start on the second version of the Bronzor for him and then I will likely start the Dragalge he wants too.

The Canceler May 2nd, 2015 3:40 PM

Just finished breeding a Kangaskhan. Currently, I'm Wonder Trading seven boxes full of breedjects to see what else I can breed.
