I guess I can be happy with how this whole thing is turning out.
I like it, what about you guys?

The mug shots look amazing! Have you finished the whole gym? (trainers etc.)

Yep, it's all complete.
The only thing to do would be import the Gym fanfares from Platinum and work them. Plus edit the guy that gives advice at the front.

Well dat "Champ In the making!" guy? he could be Red's Dad in Kanto if you closely think about it. well kudos on the gym map! and for outdoor tiles you can take 1 shade of gray from a random pal and make a universal shade for buildings....

That won't work because that's not how shades work. They "tint" the ground to a darker color. They aren't just gray and that's it.

Oreburgh Gym Fix

Fixed the shadow error on the left (thanks to _Fallenleader_ for pointing that out)

It does look odd from an aerial view, but from the GBA screen it looks amazeballs.

Pokemon Menu Announcement

http://snag.gy/QDgvM.jpg

Can anyone guess what just happened there?
Well I can.

That's right ladies and gents, we've finally cracked the start menu functions. This means we can roll out major progress by doing the

Pokédex
Pokémon Menu
Bag Menus
Trainer Card

Of course not all at once or anything, just something to keep in mind. I'll be doing the poke me mans menu first since it's fun practice. So far I've got:

Lemme know what you all think.

And a mockup:

The location was super easy, and it's been known for a few years now. The hard part was getting our own custom stuff hacked into it to make it work. Now we can do that.

So I decided to take a break from the derpy Pokémon Menu and load the bag. Took about 14 seconds.

Very nice!
Will you be making a tutorial on how to do this?
As I would love to be able to do this in my own hack.

Well it's by no means a simply task.
It requires lots of GBA knowledge as well as C. It will take tons of time to explain every single thing about fire red to the people that want to do something like this.

AtecainCorp. February 15th, 2015 7:56 AM

Very nice GoGo... BUT!

Gym Leader Mugshoots is not that same like in Pokemon Platinum. Remember that in Pokemon Platinum MUGSHOT was displayed only in single bar and with VS thing near Gym Leader Mugshoot... So this one is remade Mugshoot from ELite Four style,... Not Exacly Platinum one.

This one is an extension of the in-built FireRed function. It's the beauty of a demake.

And if you take a look to your right, you'll see a failing masterball on the bag menu.

Now you just need to get the icons compressed into a single row. (And fix the master broken).

I'm going to leave the icons as they are. It's just the GBA size that makes me say that. Plus it doesn't look bad either.

The item icons are 24x24 but are loaded as 32x32 since the GBA can't actually load 24x24-sized images. It's some strange stuff. No clue why they made them 24x24 in the first place. It means to load them you have to go do extra steps.

Are you going to address the difference in the AI between gen 3 (which was more or less using the same as gen 1 except the RNG wasn't bugged) and gen 4 (which was noticably smarter, most notably being the first in the franchize to actually use the type chart to its advantage), or to save dev time are you going to leave it alone?

Well knizz did tons of research on trainer AI. We kinda know where to add things and stuff, so in the future you can expect it. Stuff like stealth rock and the like are used by trainers in a smart way as you said, but it'd be a lot easier to include those things in a disassembly (which we do not currently have completed)

So I got it to check for the "Close" icon. If it is the "Close" icon, it'll load the "CLOSE BAG" text instead of "?????".
Otherwise it'll load the item's description.
