Game of Thrones Challenge

https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/c9lzmv4d3mgzpnyntz7s.jpg

Premise:

“When you play a game of thrones you win or you die.”

― George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones

This challenge is inspired by the HBO television series, Game of Thrones, and the book series on which that show is based, A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R.R. Martin. Thrust into a world of despair and peril, you either fight or die. Pledge allegiance to one of the Great Houses of Westeros, brave untold dangers and see if you have what it takes to claim the coveted Iron Throne and rule the Pokémon World.

Rules:
1. Firstly, you must align yourself with one of the major families of Westeros and adhere to the special rules of that family.

2. You are only allowed to use the Pokémon types required by the House you pledge allegiance to along with one of the compulsory Pokémon stipulated under each house (dual types are allowed and, if necessary, you are allowed to generate at most two (2) Pokemon of the required Types).

3. Since the Great Lords of Westeros use Knights, Sellswords and Common Folk alike in their armies, You have the option to use one (1) FIGHTING type and/or one (1) NORMAL type to complete your team.

4. You are required to have at least four (4) Pokémon to make up your party; inclusive of the compulsory Pokémon.

5. When you play the Game of Thrones, there is no middle ground; you either win or die. Akin to a particular rule in Nuzlocke challenges, if one of your Pokémon faints, it dies and is to be either released or placed in a “Death Box” in the PC.

6. If you are familiar with the TV show or books, you are to name at least one of your Pokémon after a member of the House you choose (nickname all if you can). This rule, however, is optional as is requires some knowledge of the books and show.

7. The inhabitants of the land of Westeros use Ravens to send messages and communicate with each other. If you wish, you can catch a Bird Pokémon, name it Raven, and use it as a Fly Slave.

8. Apart from the “Raven”, you may use one (1) more HM Slave but no more than that.

9. You are allowed to generate any Item or Pokemon as may be required by the specific rules of your House.

10. Your Challenge ends when you either die (when your entire party faints in one battle) or you beat the “King” of what game you’re playing. This includes:
(a) King of Kanto- Blue/ Rival
(b) King of Johto- Red
(c) King of Hoenn- Steven
(d) King of Sinnoh- Cynthia
(e) King of Unova- Alder
(f) King of Kalos- AZ
(g) King of Alola- Professor Kukui

House TARGARYEN is a noble family of Valyrian descent that escaped the Doom. They lived for centuries on the island of Dragonstone until Aegon Targaryen and his sisters rode their dragons to the conquest of the Seven Kingdoms. House Targaryen ruled as the Kings of Westeros for nearly 300 years, until their ouster in the War of the Usurper. Their seats were the capital city of King's Landing, the island castle of Dragonstone, and the summer residence of Summerhall. House Targaryen's sigil is a three-headed dragon breathing flames, red on black. The three-headed dragon represents Aegon the Conqueror and his two sisters, Rhaenys and Visenya. Their house words are "Fire and Blood." Members of the family tend to have stereotypical features of those of Valyrian descent; silver hair and violet eyes.

House STARK of Winterfell is one of the great houses of Westeros and the principal noble house of the North; many lesser houses are sworn to them. In days of old they ruled as Kings of Winter; since the Targaryen Conquest they have been Wardens of the North. Their seat, Winterfell, is an ancient castle renowned for its strength. Their sigil is a grey direwolf racing across a field of white, and their words are "Winter Is Coming", one of only a few house mottoes to be a warning rather than a boast.

House LANNISTER of Casterly Rock is one of the Great Houses of Seven Kingdoms, and the principal house of the Westerlands. Their seat is Casterly Rock, though another branch exists that is based in nearby Lannisport. Their sigil is a golden lion on a field of crimson. Their official motto is "Hear me Roar!" However their unofficial motto, equally well known, is "A Lannister always pays his debts." The Lannisters reigned as Kings of the Rock until they fell to the Targaryen conquest, but were allowed to remain the liege lords of the Westerlands. The House had fallen on hard times during the rule of Tytos, but was restored to its former glory by Tywin. The Lannisters are the richest family in the Seven Kingdoms, due in large part to the many gold mines under their control, despite by no means being the largest kingdom and being rather mountainous. Members of the family tend to have golden hair and emerald green eyes.

House BARATHEON of Storm's End is one of the Great Houses of Westeros, and is the principal house in the Stormlands. Its seat, Storm's End, is an ancient castle raised by the Storm Kings. The Baratheon sigil is a crowned black stag on a field of gold. Members of the family tend to be tall and powerfully built, with black hair and blue eyes, as well as strong, square jawlines. They are known for their mercurial tempers, and their words are Ours is the Fury. House Baratheon is the youngest of the original great houses, tracing its descent from Orys Baratheon, one of Aegon I Targaryen's fiercest generals, and rumored to be his bastard brother. Through the female line, the Baratheons are descended from the Storm Kings, as Orys slew Argilac the Arrogant, last of the Storm Kings, and married his daughter Argella Durrendon. Orys adopted the sigil and words of his wife's ancestral line.

House MARTELL of Sunspear is one of the Great Houses of Westeros and the ruling house of Dorne. Their words are, "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken." In appearance they are classic salty Dornishmen, with dark eyes, dark hair in ringlets, and olive skin. As Aegon the Conqueror waged his Wars of Conquest, he eventually came to Dorne. Here his army was bled dry by guerrilla warfare in the desert, a situation in which his dragons were of little use. Deciding that conquering Dorne would be too costly, the Conqueror opted to leave the Martells as sovereign princes. House Martell kept Dorne independent from the Targaryens for two centuries, the only one of the Seven Kingdoms to manage such a feat. After repeated failed attempts at conquest, Dorne eventually joined the fold through marriage between the two houses.

2. Dragon Alliance= The only region in Westeros to successfully resist the Conquest of Aegon the Conqueror and his sister wives, Dorne became a part of the unified Westeros when, under the Rule of King Daeron Targaryen II, there was a dual marriage alliance between House Targaryen and House Martell. This alliance was strengthened further when the Mad King, Aerys Targaryen II married his eldest son and heir, Prince Rhaegar, to Elia Martell, sister of Doran Martell, the Prince of Dorne. Once you have obtained all eight (8) badges, you can add one (1) DRAGON type Pokemon of your choice to your final team.

House TYRELL of Highgarden is one of the Great Houses of the Seven Kingdoms, overlords over the Reach. A large, wealthy house, its wealth is only surpassed among the Great Houses by House Lannister, and the Tyrells can field the greatest armies. House Tyrell rose to power during the Targaryen Conquest when Lord Harlen Tyrell, steward to Mern Gardner IX (former King of the Reach), bent the knee and surrendered the Reach to Targaryen rule after the ruling House Gardner and their banners were exterminated by Aegon the Conqueror's three dragons at the infamous Field of Fire incident. Highgarden is an ancient seat of rule and the heart of chivalry in the Seven Kingdoms; the Tyrells style themselves 'Defenders of the Marches' and 'High Marshals of the Reach', and traditionally, they have been Wardens of the South. Their sigil is a golden rose on a green field, and their words are "Growing Strong." Members of the family tend to have curly brown hair and brown or golden eyes.

Members of the family tend to have auburn hair, high cheekbones, and bright blue eyes. House Tully is an old noble house, dating back to the Age of Heroes. Unlike many Great Houses they never ruled as kings, but held Riverrun for a thousand years as vassals of those who did. House Tully rose to prominence during the War of Conquest, when Lord Edmyn Tully led the rebel river lords who deserted King Harren the Black and joined Aegon the Conqueror. House ARRYN of the Eyrie is one of great houses of Westeros, and is the principal noble house in the Vale. Their main seat is the Eyrie, but they have many other holdings, including their winter castle at the Gates of the Moon. Both of these fortifications sit astride the Giant's Lance, the tallest mountain in the Vale, and the Eyrie is considered impregnable. Their sigil is a white moon-and-falcon on a sky-blue field, and their words are "As High as Honor". The Arryns submitted to House Targaryen during the Wars of Conquest. The Arryn and Targaryen fleets fought to a draw in the Battle of Gulltown, but the Arryns submitted when Aegon the Conqueror's sister Visenya arrived at the Eyrie and found that the young king Ronnel wanted to ride a dragon. Since then, the Arryns remained Defenders of the Vale and were also named Wardens of the East, a title that they have always held since.

House GREYJOY of Pyke is one of the Great Houses of Westeros. It rules over the Iron Islands, a harsh and bleak collection of forbidding islands off the west coast of Westeros, from the castle of Pyke on the island of the same name. Their sigil is a golden kraken on a black field, and their house motto is "We Do Not Sow." The House descends from the Grey King, a legendary figure from the Age of Heroes. The Greyjoys became the lords of the Iron Isles during the Targaryen Conquest: after Aegon I extinguished House Hoare, he allowed the ironborn to choose who would have primacy over them. They chose Vickon Greyjoy and his line. The Greyjoys have ruled ever since, from their formidable castle of Pyke.

I have one question before I start the challenge. The required types for the lannisters are Ground/Psychic/Dark, does this means my party can only have this types or I need atleast one of each in my party? Very cool challenge, I love GoT and ASoIaF.

Sorry about that, anyway, I have started and chose mudkip, I named him Mountain.

Updates
Spoiler:
Update #2:
Spoiler:
Hacked pokemon left and right with the Mountain to train for May.

My Team:

(Mudkip) Mountain (that Rides); Level 7
Moves: Tackle, Growl, Mud-Slap.

Update #3:
Spoiler:
After a hard battle against May's Treecko, it left the Mountain wounded but he will live, Im taking it to the Maester Center.

Update #4:
Spoiler:
After healing Mountain (I'll probably change his name to Gregor) I fought my way to Petalburg City, talked to my father and helped Wally catch a Ralts. Then I went to Petalburg woods and fought the team aqua grunt, which I beat fairly easily.

My team:

(Mudkip) Mountain (that Rides); Level 11
Moves: Tackle, Growl, Mud-Slap, Water Gun.

Gonna catch a Cascoon soon.

Update #5:
Spoiler:
Caught a Cascoon, named him Varys. He isn't going to stay around very long. Mountain got poisoned but I was able to get to the Petalburg Center.
The Mountain was poisoned again and almost died, but I got to the Petalburg center in time. After this two close calls I'll rest a bit, for now this is my team:

(Mudkip) Mountain (that Rides); Level 13
Moves: Tackle, Growl, Mud-Slap, Water Gun.

(Cascoon) Varys; Level 8
Moves: Harden

Update #6:
Spoiler:
Finally reached Rustboro City, the gym shouldn't to difficult with Mountain at the vanguard.
The trainers were easy to beat, Mountain slaughter the Geodude, all six of them. There were three trainers, one single and another double battle, Varys leveled up to 9, still only knows harden -.-'.
Now Roxanne:
One hit-KO the first Geodude with water gun. Mountain leveled up and learned Bide.
The second went the same way the first, one hit-KO with water gun.
Nosepass was more difficult but not much, hit him with water gun, almost killed him, he missed the Rock Tomb and ate an oran berry. Roxanne use a potion and I water gunned him. Another water gun and another Rock Tomb miss, he is almost dead, but Roxanne used yet another potion. I hit the water gun and he is almost dead, another water gun and NosePASS PASSed way (eheheh). Mountain leveled up to 16, evolved and learned Mud Shot.

My team:

(Marshtomp) Mountain (that Rides); Level 16
Moves: Tackle, Bide, Mud Shot, Water Gun.

(Cascoon) Varys; Level 9
Moves: Harden

Update #7:
Spoiler:
Exit the gym and watched the guy with a green coat ran after a team aqua grunt, I immediately went to help, because I'm a good guy and all that.
Before I go to he cave I'm going to grind a little and catch a Skitty, It's my house pokemon.
Battled a bug catcher and Varys evolved finally!! And learned Confusion!!
Catching a Skitty is hard, so I'm going to see if any TVs in Rustboro have any news about any swarm. No one in Rustboro see's tv so I'm going to have to seached for a Skitty on my one, unfortunately my Gameboy is running out of battery so I'm gonna end the session here.

On Hiatus.

The required types for House Lannister are Ground/Psychic/Poison.

If you choose House Lannister, your party can only consist of these types and one of the stipulated compulsory Pokemon. You are allowed to use dual types (once the Pokemon you choose for your team has one of these typings, it's other typing can be anything really) so it's not completely restrictive.

Hope my response was helpful. :)

Update #1

I chose Charmander as my starter (named it after Rhaegar Targaryen). I beat my Rival at Oak's Lab (named him Gary). I then went up to Viridian City, collected Oak's Parcel at the Mart, made my way back down to Pallet Town, gave Oak the parcel and collected my PokeDex and PokeBalls. Right now I'm Level Grinding in the Route just left of Viridian.

Rhaegar (m)
Level: 13
Nature: Rash
Ability: Blaze
Moves:

Update #2

I trained up my Charmander until it evolved into Charmeleon and then I beat my Rival for the second time. I then made my way through the Viridian Forest into Pewter City where I challenged and beat Brock for my first Gym Badge. I then made my way to the Pokemon Center right in front of Mount Moon where I got my second team member; (the Magikarp from the Magikarp Salesman). I named her after Daenerys Targaryen. I'm planning to train Magikarp up through the switch out method until I get a Gyarados.

Update #3

I made my way through Mount Moon, into Cerulean City. Before facing the Gym, fought and beat Gary, did some training on Nugget Bridge and the Route leading up to Bill's House, and did the Bill Event to get the ticket to the SS Anne. My Magikarp evolved into Gyarados whilst in the Gym and I took on and beat Misty. I'm now in Vermillion City where I intend to do the SS Anne Event and take on Lt. Surge.

Update #4

I did the SS Anne event, beat Gary again and collected the HM Cut. I beat Lt. Surge with my Charmeleon and made my way to the Rock Tunnel. I went through the Rock Tunnel and got to Lavender Town before I made my way to Celedon City. When I arrived at Celedon, I took on Giovanni and Team Rocket at the Game Corner and retrieved the Silph Scope. I then made my way back to Lavender Town, took on Gary once more, and recued Mr. Fuji from Team Rocket at the Pokemon Tower. I went back to Celedon, picked up the HM for Fly, caught and trained a Vulpix into a Ninetales, and beat Erica's Gym. I'm currently taking on the Bikers on the Cycling Road.

Update #6

I filled the Dex up to the point where I could get the Exp. Share and trained Dratini up. I took on the Rockets at Silph Co., beat Giovanni, and got the Masterball. After that, I beat Sabrina's Gym. Unfortunately, I lost my Ninetales in the mix. I then made my way to Cinnabar Island, revived Aerodactyl from the Old Amber that I got from the Scientist at Pewter Museum, and trained him up. I named him Viserys after Viserys Targaryen.

I did the Pokemon Mansion, got the Secret Key and defeated Blaine's Gym. I then surfed over to the Seafoam Islands to catch Articuno, the Legendary member of my Team. I used the Masterball on it so it wasn't any trouble. I maned it Lyanna after Lyanna Stark, Rhaegar Targaryen's Mistress from the North. After that, I made my way back to Cinnabar to take Bill up on his offer to go to the 1,2,3 Islands. On One Island, I caught a Ponyta that I evolved into a Rapidash to replace Ninetales. I called her Elia after Rhaegar Targaryen's wife, Elia Martell. Once I finished the Lostelle Sidequest, I made my way back to Kanto and beat Giovanni's Gym. After that, I beat Gary once more on the Route left of Viridian City and made my way through Victory Road.

I'm doing some training before I take on the League near the Spa on One Island.

Update #7

I've finished training and I fought the Pokemon League.

Lorelei
My Rapidash annihilated Lorelei. I sent Elia out first, set up Sunny Day and Solarbeamed the lot of her Pokemon, except for Jynx, but Fire Blast took care of her. I had a close call when the sun faded against Lapras, but Elia tanked it and I pulled through.

Bruno
Easy. Gyarados/ Daenerys smashed his 2 Onix with Surf and Aerodactyl/Viserys and Dragonite/ Aegon (Fly) took care of his fighting types with relative ease.

Agatha
The only thing that I could think of was to overpower her with my Dragonite, Aegon. Outrage served to take out her Ghosts, Thunder hit her Golbat, and I brought out Daenerys to Earthquake her Arbok to a OHKO.

Lance.
I took lance out with relative ease as well. Aegon Thundered his Gyarados and Aerodactyl and Articuno/ Lyanna took out his Dragons with a Hail/ Blizzard Combo.

Gary
Gary wasn't too much trouble.
Pidgeot- Aegon's Thunder OHKOed Pidgeot.
Blastoise- Pretty much the same thing. Aegon's Thunder OHKOed Blastoise.
Alakazam- Viserys Double-Edge OHKOed Alakazam.
Rhydon- Daenerys Dragon Danced twice and an Earthquake was enough to finish it off.
Arcanine- Daenerys OHKOed Arcanine with another Dragon Dance Earthquake.
Exeggutor- Rhaegar's Flamethrower was all it took to OHKO.

Sorry about that. Will try to be more careful. It would be a bit embarrassing to get an infraction for a minor rule.

Challenge confirmed. Good luck!!! :)

You can trade the Poochyena over if you want, no problem.

Also, You can use the Froakie if you want to. The required type rule applies to the evolution chain, not the individual Pokemon. As long as the final evolution (or evolved stage which you intend to use) has that required typing, it's cool.

Nope. You can only either let it wear off by itself (in later generations) or get to a Pokemon Center or Healing spot asap if you want to get rid of it.

If you have HP healing items, you can use them until you get to a healing spot.

ThatOneWeirdGuy March 29th, 2014 10:53 AM

Are hacks allowed, as long as they are in a canon region?

Also, if a pokemon dies, can it be replaced with a pokemon of the same species, or is it only replaceable with a different kind of pokemon?

Yes, hacks are allowed so long as the game is based in a canon region.

I've got no rule against replacing a dead Pokemon with the same species; you can do that if you wish. However, I would advise against it. I think that the experience would be more enriching if you try to use as much different Pokemon as allowed (especially if its a species that you've never gotten a chance to train before). In the end though, its really up to you and what you want to do.

LOGS
Spoiler:

Session #1

>Chose the male character and named myself 'Andy,' since that's my name

>Did all the boring intro stuff, and chose Torchic as my starter. I named him Viserys (saving Aegon for my badass Salamence)

>Had to train Viserys up to lvl 11, due to the hacker giving May a Skitty and a level 6 Mudkip. The Mudkip knows Mud-Slap, which is what makes things so difficult for Viserys.

>1-Hit-KO'd the Skitty w/ Ember; killed Mudkip w/ 3 scratches, all of which didn't miss, despite the continual mud-slaps. Might have over-trained, especially considering the 2 potions in my inventory, but I suppose it's best to save those for later

>Caught a female Duduo on the route north of Odale Town, because they're one of my favorite pokemon. Named her Daenerys. I train her to lvl 8.

>Daenerys brutally murders everything on the route west of Odale Town

>I do the boring event with Wally, and catch a Zigzagoon, which I will use as a slave. I violate a minor rule here, and name it 'Grey Worm' instead of 'Slave,' as a reference to Game of Thrones.

>I also catch a Wingull, which will be useful in defeating the first gym. I name her Rhaenys. I do not train or use it for the time being (will probably ditch it after 1st gym).

End of session

Team:

Viserys (Torchic) - lvl 11
Daenerys (Doduo) - lvl 11
Rhaenys (Wingull) - lvl 3

Notes: I just realized the usefulness of the ability pick-up on my HM slave for House Targaryen. Muahahaha.

Session #2
>I easily progress through the route west of Petalburg City, Petalburg Woods, and the area north of the last

>I decide to keep Viserys in the front of the party until it evolves

>As predicted, Grey Worm proves to be quite useful, acquiring a Full Heal and a Potion for me

>Close call with a fisherman that had a Qwilfish and Remoraid and poisoned Daenerys. Me being stingy with my items almost made me lose both Viserys and Daenerys. In the end, though, I had to use 3 potions and a pecha berry. :/

>I explore Rustboro City and its surroundings, hunting for free stuff

>I decide to train on the route northeast of Rustboro and "test-out the water" before challenging the first gym. Viserys and Daenerys kill everything

>I also take advantage of the rule allowing for a maximum of two HM slaves, and get a Meowth for the purpose of it eventually being utilized for Flash. Plus, it also has the pick-up ability (I feel like that's almost cheating). I name it Grey Worm2

>While training Rhaenys, I try to run from an Abra, thinking it would just teleport away anyways. I clearly forgot I was playing a hack and was punished for it, because it 1-Hit-KO'd me with Confusion. I decide against catching another Wingull, mostly because I hate level grinding, but also because of a childhood phobia with seagulls that also spilled over into Wingulls in my first playthrough of Sapphire as a kid. True story. ;P Now the first gym might prove to be rather tricky...

>Viserys easily takes on Roxanne's Aron. The real challenge is the bulky-as-♥♥♥♥ Nosepass. I spam double-kicks while she spams potions. I switch into Daenerys to dodge digs. Rock Tomb doesn't do that much damage due to the dual-fighting typing. I eventually kill it. Her Phanphy is killed w/ ease, Ryhorn is trouble because of Thunder Wave. The battle brings me down to one potion, when I went in with about 5, I think.

>I explore the area northeast of Rustboro now accessible w/ the ability to use Cut outside of battle

>Along the way of rescuing Peeko, I get a Cyndaquil, which I will use if Viserys dies. I name him Viserys V2.

>This douche bag Aqua Grunt gets a Dratini /sadface.jpg

>I complete the Devon Goods mission, get the Pokenav, etc

>I do the optional rival battle. Daenerys just likes to kill everything by bludgeoning it with her (their?) beaks.

> I explore stuff only accessible w/ Cut

>Get to Dewford

>Get HM05 Flash and take on Brawly's Gym

>Despite spamming of Fresh Waters and Bulk-ups, Daenerys successfully kills everything with her beaks and emerges from the gym unscathed

>I get to Steven in the Granite Cave

>Go back to Rustboro to get Exp. Share

>Return to Dewford

>I also find an Eevee; I'll have to look at what changes the hacker made to flareon. I named him Rhaegar

>Daenerys almost dies to an Elekid. D:

>I discover that I can receive a second egg from the aqua grunt. I'll hatch it when I hatch the one I have

>May is easily defeated, but Daenerys is poisoned. I get to the PokeCenter in time

>Daenerys dies to a stupid ♥♥♥♥ing Nosepass with Thunder Wave at the end of the route north of Slateport

>Viserys V2 catches up w/ the regular Viserys. I plan to catch a Taillow on the route west of Mauville. I do so and name him Drogo, because I don't feel like googling stuff

>I also catch a Horsea on the same route, with the intention of it evolving into a Kingdra in the 40s. I'll just put an EXP share on it until it does that so I don't violate the rules. I name her Daenerys (again).

>Currently training Drogo

End of Session

Team:
Viserys V2 (Quilava) - lvl 29
Drogo (Taillow) - lvl 21
Viserys (Combusken) - lvl 29

I think you should add the normal type to House Baratheon, Slaking is Robert Baratheon, Sawsbuck and Stantler are normal type. I really think it would make sense.

Thanks for the feedback. I've made the change for House Baratheon to include a Normal Type. I also took your suggestion and added the Night's Watch as an additional House/ Institution.

Sorry to be a bad sport, but I've withdrawn from the challenge after not playing through it for about a month.

No problem. It would be nice though if you could give it another shot in future.

Hi, sorry for the hiatus, but I lost some of the mojo for game of thrones but with the last episode I'm back. If you don't mind I would like to do another house and when i'm finished I would return to the lannister, is that ok? If yes my things are:

Username: Skarper
House: Martell
Game: Pokemon Black Version 2

I was also thinking of house martell and I think I have something good here.
The type required should be ground/poison/steel. I'm going to think about some rules for them.

Abby June 4th, 2014 12:10 PM

In the grass house it says florges but then it says mono grass.
Is it me or is that a bit contradictory

The House sigil is a flower, that's the predominant element, so no.

The reason why Grass is the prevailing type is because most Pokemon with Flowers as a theme are grass types and also the region that that House rules (in the books and show) is famous for its vegetation and fertile land.

You would have to abandon the Lannister Challenge to take on the House Martell Challenge. You can, however, start a new the Lannister Challenge later on if you wish.

I'll confirm your new challenge. Just remember to update your progress as regularly as you can.

Garrabutártulo June 4th, 2014 3:10 PM

I think you should add octillery as a compulsory pokémon in house Greyjoy. Maybe add "the others" as a playable choice. Ghost and ice types. No healing items, no healing moves. Can't use dragons (they were weak todo dragonglass por whatever it's name is in english) Don't know. Just felt like this would be a fun choice.

Skarper June 4th, 2014 6:13 PM

I hereby officially abandon the lannister house and start a new one:

-Chose Tepig for my starter, which I have named Theon, as he will never truly be part of Stark's team.
-Did story stuff, caught a Purrloin named Catelyn.
-Trained Cat
-Beat gym 1
-Caught Megnemite (Brandon)

My plan is to start off with Catelyn, Brandon, Lyanna, Benjen, Eddard and Robb. They will all tragically die at different points in time.
I plan on having a final party of: Jon Snow (Hydreigon), Arya (Weavile), Bran (Mandibuzz), Hodor (Lapras), Sansa (Umbreon) and Rickon (Absol)

Update 1:

So, I ended up losing the game because a Snorlax killed my only pokémon, so onto House Stark!

Log:
Spoiler:
Started the game and went through tutorials.
Picked a Fennekin that I named Jorah for my starter (He will never be a true dragon)
Continued through the tutorial until I got Pokéballs, to which I shortly catch a Fletchling that I name Irri.
After going through santalune forest, I got the roller blades and battled the gym leader, winning with ease.
Left after getting the experience share, I quickly turned it off then collected some items from the ground and went to lumious city, I then pick Charmander for sycamores selection, and name him Aegon.
I left lumious city then battled teirno, to my despair, his corphish killed both Jorah and Irri, leaving me with only Aegon.
I continued to camphrier town and then to parfum palace, went through the quest and went back down to the bridge, going down the road, Aegon evolved into Charmeleon. I was ignorant to how strong snorlax was, and he took Aegon out with two of his tackles.
Following suite, I ended the game.

End Team:

Sorry about the lack of updates. I'll update as soon as I can, next week probably.

Hi, im back but with bad news because I lost all my pokemon :P Went to the gym and the first guy killed Trystane and then went to catch a Buneary and she killed Oberyn, so I lost :(

I am considering giving it another go with the Greyjoy but I was thinking that maybe you could add Water for the required type, they are pirates after all, have the best fleet in westeros (one of the best atleast) and their god is the Drowned God. Maybe also Dark type, but mainly water would be the best to add. You could also add a new House Rule for the greyjoy:

Pay the Iron Price: You can't buy anything (except pokeballs so you dont run out of them).

I'd love to join! Having just beaten Pokemon Glazed, this seems like something I could get behind. Just give me some time to pick between Stark or Targaryen and Sinnoh or Unova. :)

I have this idea, though. For the Starks, how about adding a compulsory Pokemon for Sansa? Like, something stereotypically beautiful, like Gardevoir (although I realize that's incorrect typing) or "little bird"-like that's actually very powerful ;)

Edit: I've made my choice!

Question: I chose Piplup as a starter, because it evolves to have a Stark type, steel. But upon rereading the rules, there's nothing that says whether the starter should be used up until a house-type is caught, or if I should hack in a house-type, or if I'm permitted to use Pokemon that will eventually get my house's types...

Challenge Confirmed!!! :)

It's no problem that Piplup doesn't fit the Stark typing until Empoleon. As long the form you intend on using on your final team fits the required typing, it's all that matters.

The Tale of How Winter Came To Sinnoh

Update 1

Spoiler:

The player character is named Winter, and the rival Summer, because children born in summer do not know the might of Winter. Winter’s starter is Piplup, with a Quiet nature, and quite fittingly nicknamed Ned (before she even remembered to check for nature!) She’s thinking of renaming him Eddard once he evolves Empoleon, but then again, maybe not.

Captured a level 3 Bidoof named Slave, as per the rules, although she really wanted to name him Unsullied. Or Hodor, but she likes Hodor too much for him to be a Bidoof/Bibarel.

Lucas generously gave her some Pokeballs, and she traipsed out of Sandgem and on to Jubilife, where she delivered the parcel to Summer. As honor needs to be rewarded, she then stocked up on potions, in anticipation of the coming rival and gym battle.

Summer’s party was soundly defeated by a level 13 Ned, and Winter went on to Oreburgh Gate. Ned evolved in the mine, then destroyed the Oreburgh Gym with Bubble.

The Galactic grunts were summarily dealt with, by a rapidly leveling Ned’s Bubble/Bubblebeam.
Floaroma Town’s events were easily finished, with a level 24 Ned’s Bubblebeam/Peck obliterating the sadly underleveled grunts’ Pokemon. (Slave saw some action, because twins Liv and Liz were a double battle and Winter traveled only with Ned and Slave. Slave leveled to 6.)
Eterna Forest was a good training ground.

In Eterna City, Winter realized that as overleveled as Ned was (level 28), he still wouldn’t be able to deal with Gardenia’s monster of a Roserade. Luckily, a training session in Mt. Coronet turned up a friendly level 14 Bronzor, whom Winter hopes will become a wall of defense in the future. Benjen the Bronzor is now in charge of walling Gardenia, as well as dealing out some Confusions…after some training, of course.

It would be nice if Eterna Forest housed Murkrows…but unfortunately for Winter, she’s playing Platinum, and there are no Murkrows in Platinum.

Update 2
It's a bit late, as a storm blew in and the power went down and all my gadgets ran out of battery, so...
Anyway, have at ye, Eterna City Gym!

Spoiler:

Spamming Confuse Rays right and left, brave Benjen walled and walled and fought Turtwig to the death. As Turtwig fell to a combination of Confusion and self-inflicted hurt, Benjen steeled himself for a greater challenge yet: surviving Cherrim.

Cherrim was a demon, spamming Safeguards and Grass Knots as freely as Benjen tossed out Confusions. Twice did Benjen need to be brought back from the brink of death. When Cherrim threw out a Leech Seed, Winter recalled Benjen to his ball, and Ned walked majestically out.

"Cherrim shall fall," he declared, and with a Peck, so she did.

"Are you ready?" Winter asked her brave wall. Benjen nodded.

"I go to destroy Roserade," he vowed.

At first, all went well with him, as he walled and confused Roserade, who was setting up Reflect. But then, with a screech of "Growing Strong!" Roserade broke free of her confusion and felled Benjen with a Grass Knot.

Benjen, brave little wall, lay dead on the grass.

After the gym battle, wherein Ned felled Roserade with a critical-hit Peck, Benjen was ceremoniously buried in the Stark crypts. Winter wept for a while for the first casualty of her journey, then drew herself up, taught Cut to Slave, and proceeded to the Galactic Building to free the Cycle Shop manager.

The Galactics stood no chance against a grief-stricken, level 30 Ned. The Cycle Shop manager was freed, and Winter acquired a Bike. Onwards!

Got through Mt. Coronet, and met the strange, blue-haired man again. Upon arriving in Hearthome City, Winter met up with her mother, and received a Timid future Glaceon named Sansa.

(You guys, you have no idea how many times I reset to get a female Eevee.)

At this point in time, Winter, Ned, Sansa, and yes, even Slave, had a moment of silence for the dear, deceased little Benjen, whose brave self-sacrifice helped them get this far. And then...to training once more!

Next up will be the ghost-type gym with the strangely beautiful French lady, Fantina!

Update 3
Forgive me if this is a bit short, I got caught up in playing and not in recording details.
Spoiler:

The trip through the gym was made quickly, with Sansa in the lead holding an Exp. Share and then switching out for Ned. Winter proceeded carefully, not wanting to be seen by the gym trainers. Finally, she reached Fantina.

Sansa faced Duskull, blinding her with Sand-Attack to set up for Ned. Thanks to the Sand-Attacks, the Will-o-Wisps that Duskull was so fond of spamming all missed Ned, allowing him to clean up Duskull and 2OHKO Haunter. Mismagius was managed similarly, but with a little more care, with her Magical Leaf proving a slight danger to Ned's sweep.

After leaving and healing up, Winter faced Summer at the gate going to Solaceon Town. Sansa easily got rid of Staravia, and Ned cleaned up Ponyta, Buizel, and Grotle.

Explored Solaceon Ruins and obtained the items therein.

On the outskirts of Solaceon Town, a Ponyta named Tyrion was obtained, for the sole purpose of breeding with Sansa and producing Eevee eggs. (*shudder* Thank the Seven that scenario didn't happen in GOT.) Two Eevee eggs having been produced, Tyrion was then permanently boxed, and Sansa was reinstated.

Winter wended her way through Route 215. During the double battle near the gate to Hearthome, Ned achieved his 36th level, and evolved into Empoleon.

Onwards to Veilstone!

Update 4

Spoiler:
Winter was suitably impressed with Crasher Wake.

Ned delivered a beatdown to the Veilstone Karate Quads, despite being supereffectively damaged by the fighting-type moves. (Should I have held off his evolution until after beating the gym that supereffectively damaged his secondary type?) Well, too late now. The Hyper Potions picked up during the journey healed him up until Maylene. Due to being level 37, and thus 5 levels higher than her ace Lucario, Ned wiped the floor with Bubblebeam.

After the gym battle, Lucas came around begging for help, and Winter obliged. The duo cleaned up Team Galactic in a double battle (although I would argue that the player character always does more work in double battles, sigh), after which Looker came whizzing in, late as usual. HM Fly was obtained, as well as a Porygon that was instantly permanently boxed.

As Winter had done a good deed, she deserved to splurge! Star Pieces and Nuggets were sold to finance her shopping spree at Veilstone Dept., which mostly consisted of Vending Machine drinks, repels, and Poke balls. Then she biked back to Cafe Cabin to purchase a dozen Moomoo Milks. On the way back, she ran into a male Scyther. With level 32 Sansa in the lead, it was Quick-Attacked to red health and caught with a Net Ball.

In case anyone's interested, here's the team now:

Hi, just want you to know I haven't given up on this challenge, I'm just waiting for a friend of mine to trade me an level 5 Aron (because I have pokemon Y) so I can use it on my greyjoy run.
Just one question, is it okay if the aron comes with the mega stone for Aggron?

Fine by me. When you start, just let me know so that I can add your name to the list of challengers.

Hi, so I'm going to start my run with greyjoy on the 9th of august, yey :)

I thought of a new rule for the greyjoy, but it's a spoiler of the fourth book, A Feast for Crows, so if you (RoreyG) haven't read them or don't want to be spoiled for the show just say it and I'll remove it but here it goes:

Spoiler:

Dragonblinder: With this horn the ironmen can bend dragons their will, your allowed one dragon type pokemon.

Skarper
House Greyjoy
Pokemon Y

1°Log:
Spoiler:

So I've started with a froakie, named him Euron, and got an Aron from a friend, whom I asked to be named Victarion, the Lord Captain of the Iron Fleet. I won the first badge easily enough, searched for a Riolu but he did not appear so I moved on. Went to the lab and got a squirtle, named Balon, the Greyjoy brothers are almost reunited, only Damphair is missing for now. My character's name is Skarper, but his friends call him Grey King, the first king of the Iron Islands.

Team:
Euron lv16 (Frogadier)
Moves: Lick, Growl, Water Pulse, Quick Attack.

Victarion lv15 (Aron)
Moves: Metal Claw, Iron Defense, Mud-Slap, Headbutt.

Balon lv10 (Squirtle)
Moves: Tackle, Tail Whip, Water Gun, Withdraw.

2° Log:
Spoiler:
So started my session by going to the Parfum Palace. The owner smelled of grass and cowardice, even with all those golden statues and the big garden, he didn't pay the iron price for any of that, but I helped him find his Furfrou anyway, I needed the flute to continue my jorney and so I did, we woke up the lazy snorlax and Victarion made him pay for being on the rode, but not before I battled a team of pokefans that killed Euron, at least he lost the battle e disappeared afterwards...
Though the Crow's Eye was gone his brothers weren't and the journey continued, I defeated the barons at the Battle Chateau and earned the title of Viscount, though titles mean nothing to the Grey King, only the battles matter. I went to Ambrette town, catching an Inkay as I went through route 8, but he died immediately after so no one cared. Caught an Onix inside the Glittering Cave, named him Ironmaker.

Party:
Ironmaker Lv17 (Onix)
Moves: Rock Throw, Rock Tomb, Rage, Stealth Rock.

Victarion Lv22 (Aron)
Moves: Metal Claw, Iron Defense, Take Down, Headbutt.

Balon Lv22 (Wartortle)
Moves: Rapid Spin, Bite, Bubble, Withdraw.

3º Log:
Spoiler:

So I went back to Ambrette Town and revived an armor fossil that a friend gave me to get a Shieldon named Barber. I also went back to catch a Riolu, that I named Theon, the only living son of Balon Greyjoy and the heir to the Iron Islands. Trained a bit and ended in route 5.

Party:
Ironmaker Lv20 (Onix)
Moves: Rock Tomb, Rock Polish, Gyro Ball, Stealth Rock.

The Barber Lv20 (Shieldon)
Moves: Taunt, Metal Sound, Take Down, Iron Defense.

Victarion Lv22 (Aron)
Moves: Metal Claw, Iron Defense, Take Down, Headbutt.

Balon Lv23 (Wartortle)
Moves: Rapid Spin, Bite, Bubble, Withdraw.

Theon Lv10 (Riolu)
Moves: Foresight, Quick Ball, Endure, Counter.

Sorry for the long absence, college has been eating my time. May I go on hiatus/abandon my challenge? I just don't have the time right now...maybe when my life gets less busy? :(

bewbs August 19th, 2014 4:56 PM

I'm doing the D.O.B challenge on Pokemon Y at the moment, but will definatly start this as well. Just finished the challenge. I love this idea and also love how the rules are different for each house. Game Of Thrones is amazing and combining this with the pokemon games is genius. Anyway sorry for editing this all the time. I'm having too much fun.

I think it's about time that I give this thread a BUMP!!!

RoreyG September 5th, 2016 9:58 AM

I just changed some of the rules for a new and improved Game of Thrones Challenge.

For fun, I decided to do another run a couple of days ago so here it is:

Name: RoreyG
House: Targaryen
Game: Pokemon Fire Red

- So I started out with a Charmander I named Aegon. I did the usual start of game tasks (Oak's parcel, etc) and got the Pokedex and and Pokeballs. I caught a Pidgey I named Baelish and battled Gary on Route 22. I level grinded on Rout 22 and in Viridian Forest until Aegon was a level 19 Charmeleon and Baelish was a 18 Pidgeotto. I made it to Pewter City and swept Brock's Gym with ember and metal claw and continued on through Mount Moon. I beat Team Rocket and got through to Cerulean City.

- I soloed Gary with Aegon and level grinded through Nugget Bridge all the way up to Bill's House. I helped Bill out and got the SS Ticket. I then made my way to Misty's Gym. I had a close call with Aegon when Starmi nearly ko'ed him with a well placed Swift, but he survived and a Mega Punch did Misty in. I then made my way through to Underground Tunnel and caught a Meowth on the Route just before Vermillion City. I named him Tyrion and decided to use him ad my optional Normal type. I level grinded on the surrounding Routes before boarding the SS Anne. I fought my way through the Ship and beat Gary again with ease. I acuired Cut, taught Tyrion, and fought Lt. Surge. I messed up and accidentally switched into my Pidgeotto during the battle and got shock waved from Raichu. Baelish died, but not in vein as Aegon (my MVP at this point) avenged his death and beat Lt. Surge with dig. Afterwards, I got the VS Seeker, the Bike Voucher (and Bike), and an Old Rod.
I fished in Vermillion City and caught a Magikarp I named Blackheart (after Myles Toyne of the Golden Company). I also went through Diglett Cave back to Pewter City to pick up the Old Amber and made my way back to Cerulean City.

- I level grinded all the way through Rock Tunnel (blind mind you) and through to Lavender Town and Celadon City where I finally evolved Blackheart into a Gyarados. I also caught a Growlithe on Route 7 I named Robb ( because Big Dog=Direwolf). I beat the Rocket hideout in the Game Corner and rescued Mr. Fuji in the Pokemon Tower before sweeping Erica with my Aegon (now Charizard) and Robb. I went back to Lavender Town and fought my way down to the Fishing Guru to get the Super Rod. En route, I caught the sleeping Snorlax to use in case my Tyrion died. I named him Varys. I got back to the Cycling Road, got Fly, and fought my way through to Fuchsia City. Aegon beat Koga, but not before his Muk killed my Robb.I placed him in the death box and paid a visit to the Safari Zone. I made my way to the lodge where I got Surf, taught Blackheart, and used my Super Rod in the nearby pond to fish and catch a Dratini. I named my Dratini Griff. Afterwards, I traded the Warden's teeth for Strength. and taught Blackheart.

- I trained Griff via the switch out method all the way to Saffron City, and through Silph Co. Tyrion, now a Persian, swept Sabrina's Psychic Gym. I level grinded my way to Cinnabar Island. I revived Aerodactyl from the Old Amber and named him Thoros (after Thoros of Myr because of the theorized connections between the Brotherhood Without Banners and Varys' Targaryen restoration plot). I grinded through the Pokemon Mansion and retrieved the Secret Key. Blackheart swept through Blaine's Gym. I took Bill's offer to come to the 123 Islands because you can never have enough opportunities to level grind. I did the Lostelle story all the while getting my entire team to the level 40's.

- I got back to Viridian City and Aegon, Griff, Thoros, and Blackheart all pitched in to take down Giovanni for one last time. Afterwards, I made my way to the Seafoam Islands once more and used my Masterball on Articuno (my optional Legendary). I named it Sansa (after Sansa Stark). I then went back to 1 Island and did some last minute grinding to get Aegon to level 60 and the rest of my team to level 55 (obviously, I now have a Dragonite, although I held off evolving Dratini until it learned Outrage). I made my way through Victory Road and prepared my final movesets (buying TM's) before facing the Pokemon League.

My Team to face the League:

Aegon (Charizard) (m)- Hasty- Lvl 60: Flamethrower/ Fly/ Dragon Claw/ Iron Tail
Sansa (Articuno)- Naive- Lvl 55: Ice Beam/ Fly/ Secret Power/ Hail
Tyrion (Persian) (m)- Naughty- Lvl 55: Slash/ Aerial Ace/ Shadow Ball/ Iron Tail
Griff (Dragonite) (m)- Serious- Lvl 55: Outrage/ Fly/ Brick Break/ Thunder
Thoros (Aerodactyl) (m)- Brave- Lvl 55: Rock Slide/ Fly/ Double Edge/ Iron Tail
Blackheart (Gyarados) (m)- Hardy- Lvl 55: Surf/ Earthquake/ Hyper Beam/ Dragon Dance

- Elite 4:
Lorelei= Charizard (Flamethrower) and Dragonite (Brick Break and Thunder) beat Lorelei
Bruno= Charizard (Fly) and Gyarados (Surf) beat Bruno
Agatha= Persian (Shadow Ball), Gyarados (Earthquake), and Aerodactyl (Rock Slide) beat Agatha
Lance= Articuno (Ice Beam) Gyarados (Surf), and Dragonite (Thunder) beat Lance
Gary= Charizard, Gyarados, Dragonite swept Gary

Thinking of starting a run, but I have a question first. Does the 'team leader' refer to a designated Pokemon or whatever Pokemon is in the top-left slot?

Your choice. You assemble the team and pick your own leader. It doesn't necessarily mean the compulsory Pokemon or the first one in your party.

I started my adventure in Kalos by choosing a Froakie that had the soul of Euron Greyjoy, the new King of the Iron Isles.
After a brief battle with Shauna I advanced to the Santalune Forest and defeated every trainer. Euron started controlling my mind more during this fase and made me catch a Riolu that had the soul of Rodrik Harlaw, the Reader, Euron's brother Balon brother-in-law. Rodrik didn't like Euron but he was his king so he helped him in his quest to conquer Kalos. He told of a pokemon that did not have the soul of an ironborn but the soul a of mighty ship, and this pokemon was in a lab in the city with a great tower in the middle.
To go to said city they had to unite to defeat Viola's bug pokemon. Rodrik defeated Surskit while Euron destroyed Vivillon. After defeating everyone in route 4 we got to Lumiose City where we met with the professor, Rodrik liked the man, since both we're learned man, but Euron didn't see that much in Sycamore. We defeated him, Euron evolved, much to him and Rodrik dismay, and got our ship, Squirtle, the Iron Victory, the ship of the Lord Captain of the Iron Fleet, and Euron's hated brother, Victarion, which means he must be trapped inside of a pokemon too.

Tierno tries to kill the ironmen but Rodrik stops him with Counter followed by Force Palm. I advance through route 5 to Camphrier Town, a town in the middle of nowhere with nothing to raid. We try to advance but there a big monster on the way, so we get the poke flute from the palace. While in the palace grounds Euron makes me catch a Honedge, as he senses it has the power of the legendary Red Rain, a valyrian sword from House Drumm. After that Rodrik defeats the sleeping monster with the power of Counter and Trevor and Tierno show me the day-care. Once they leave I threaten the people inside it to give me the Aron they had, which they did immediately since it had tried to kill them. Victarion had been found!

Emerald- House Martell- Update 1

I chose Mudkip and named him Quentyn after Quentyn Martell (whose alias was Frog so I thought it fit). I did everything required to do at the start including fight Brendan (I chose the girl character and named her Elia after Princess Elia Martell), after which I made my way to Petalburg City and did the Wally event. I caught a Zigzagoon to use as an HM Slave. Then, I went through Petalburg Forest, saved the Devon Corp guy from the Aqua Grunt, and made my way up to Rustboro City where I fought and beat Roxanne (evolving Quentyn into a Marshtomp in the process). I got Cut, then followed the Aqua Grunt to Rusturf Tunnel to rescue Peeko and get the Devon Package back. I beat the Grunt, went to Devon Corp, and got the assignments from Mr. Stone (Letter to Steven, Package to Capt. Stern) and set off for Mr. Briney's Cabin. From there, I made my way to Dewford Town where I went to Granite Cave, got Flash, caught a Zubat (a female I named Arianne after Arianne Martell), delivered Mr. Stone's letter to Steven, went back to Rustboro to get the EXP Share, and level grinded my Arianne until she evolved into a Golbat. I then swept Brawly and went to Slateport City afterwards. I beat Team Aqua and delivered the package to Capt. Stern and level grinded on the underpass to Cycling Road, fought Brendan, and made my way up to Mauville City. I got Rock Smash, fought Wally, got a Mach Bike and Quentyn made simple work of Wattson's Gym. I then level grinded my way to Verdanturf Town and completed the Wanda Event (got Strength). I made my way back to Mauville City and saved the game there.

Emerald- House Martell- Update 2

I used a Zigzagoon I caught earlier as an HM Slave to fight my way up to the Fiery Path. I continued to level grind all the way up Fallarbor Town where I talked to Lynette, made my way to Meteor Falls, caught a Seviper I named Oberyn (after Prince Oberyn Martell) and a Solrock I named Doran (after Prince Doran Martell). I saved Professor Cozmo from Team Magma and beat Team Magma on Mt. Chimney. I then made my way down to Lavaridge Town and beat Flannery's Gym with relative ease after my Quentyn evolved into a Swampert. I got the Go Goggles, went to the desert area, and caught a Sandshrew I named Areo Hotah (after Prince Doran's bodyguard), level grinded all of my Pokemon (evolving Areo Hotah into a Sandslash) and made my way back to Petalburg City with Mr. Briney's help. With the help of many Super Potions, I beat Norman and got my reward from Wally's parents (Surf) and decided to level grind some more all the way back to Mauville City (evolving Arianne into Crobat in the process). I did the New Mauville event and saved the game after that.

Emerald- House Martell- Update 3

I level grinded my way to the Weather Institute and took care of Team Aqua. I then beat Brendan, got my reward (Fly) and made my way to Fortree City where Steven gave me the Devon Scope and Quentyn made short work Winona. I level grinded to Lilycove City where I healed up and made my way to Mt. Pyre to stop Team Aqua. I got the Magma Emblem, went back to the Jagged Pass to Team Magma's HQ and fought off Team Magma and Maxie only to see them wake Groudon. I went to Slateport City just in time to see Team Aqua steal the Submarine. I subsequently flew back to Lilycove City and fought my way through Team Aqua's HQ only to come late as Archie take the Sub elsewhere. I level grinded all the way to Mossdeep City, beat Liza and Tate with Quentyn and Arianne, helped Steven to beat Team Magma and save the Space Center, got Dive, and made my way to the Seafloor Cavern. There, I beat Team Aqua and Archie only to be too late in preventing Kyogre's awakening. I then saved the game.

Emerald- House Martell- Update 4

I made my way to Sootopolis City to link up with Steven. Upon my arrival, Groudon and Kyogre were wreaking havoc. Steven introduced me to Wallace and the search for Rayquaza began. I level grinded all the way to Pacifidlog Town, healed up and made my way to Sky Pillar to meet up with Wallace. I ascended the Sky Pillar, alerted Rayquaza, flew back to Sootopolis City, and watched as Rayquaza saved the world from Groudon and Kyogre. I received Waterfall for my help in bringing Rayquaza, then I beat Juan; narrowly escaping with all my Pokemon as Doran survived Milotic with one health point before unleashing a powerful Solarbeam. I then healed up and made my way back to Meteor Falls to add my allowed Dragon Type; a Bagon I called Aegon (after Princess Elia Martell's son, Aegon Targaryen). I level grinded some more (Aegon benefiting from Rare Candies and the EXP Share) and I made my merry way to Ever Grande City and Victory Road. I saved the game.

Emerald- House Martell- Update 5
I made my way through Victory Road, level grinding all the way, and finally arrived at the Pokemon League. I leveled up my Pokemon (evolving my Aegon into Salamence in the process), sorted my team's moves, stocked up on Hyper Potions, Lava Cookies, and Full Restores, and took on the Pokemon League.

My Pokemon League Team:
Doran (Solrock)- Level 56- Psychic/ Calm Mind/ Solarbeam/ Sunny Day
Oberyn (Seviper)- Level 54- Poison Tail/ Crunch/ Iron Tail/ Toxic
Arianne (Crobat)- Level 54- Poison Fang/ Fly/ Shadow Ball/ Steel Wing
Quentyn (Swampert)- Level 54- Surf/ Waterfall/ Ice Beam/ Earthquake
Areo Hotah (Sandslash)- Level 54- Dig/ Slash/ Brick Break/ Aerial Ace
Aegon (Salamence)- Level 54 - Dragon Claw/ Fly/ Flamethrower/ Earthquake

1) Areo Hotah and Arianne took care of Sidney
2) Arianne and Aegon took care of Phoebe
3) Aegon and Oberyn took care of Glacia
4) Quentyn and Aegon took care of Drake
5) Calm Mind and Hyper Potions ensured that Doran used Solarbeam and Psychic to successfully solo Wallace and win the Pokemon League.

Emerald- House Martell- Update 6

After the Pokemon League adventure, I level grinded Aegon and Quentyn by 10 levels each and decided to take on Steven. Flamethrower, Surf, and Earthquake ensured that I took my place as the King (or Queen rather) of Hoenn.

Emerald- House Greyjoy- Update 1
I did the usual beginning of game stuff. Chose Mudkip and named him Aeron after Aeron "Damphair" Greyjoy (High priest of the religion of the Drowned God). I fought Brendon and won, did the Wally event, saved the Devon Corp guy in Petalburg Woods and made it to Rustboro City. I fought Roxanne and beat her with relative ease. After the Gym Battle, Aeron evolved into a Marshtomp. I got back the Package for the Devon Corp Guy, rescued Peeko, and got Cut before going in to speak with Mr. Stone. I accepted the Steven and Capt. Stern missions and got my PokeNav. I then set off with Old man Briney to Dewford Town. Upon arrival, I got the Old Rod and caught myself a Tentacool which I nicknamed Asha after Asha Greyjoy (or Yara in the show). I went into the Granite Cave, got Flash, caught an Aron which I nicknamed Victarion (after Victarion Greyjoy) and met up with Steven (and got Steel Wing). I trained up a bit and went on to challenge Brawly. I struggled a bit, almost lost Victarion, but I won with everyone intact. I stayed in Dewford Town to train up a bit more.

Emerald- House Greyjoy- Update 2
I made the journey to Slateport, did the business in the Museum, gave Capt. Stern the package, and made my way below the Cycling Road up to Mauville (beating Brendon along the way). I beat Wally with relative ease, Got Rock Smash, my Mach Bike and then challenged Wattson's Gym. Aeron and Victarion bulldozed through his Electric Types. I then fought my way through to Verdanturf Town and picked up Strength. I made my way up to the Fiery Path and through to Route 113 where I caught a Skarmory I named Rodrik (after the Lord Harlaw, Brother-in-Law to King Balon Greyjoy of the Iron Islands). I then made my way through Fallarbor Town, to Meteor Falls and did the event with Professor Cozmo. I then made my back through the Fiery Path, to the top of Mt. Chimney to do the event with the meteorite. Afterwards, I went to Lavaridge Town, healed up, and then trained some more. I saved and ended there for the day.

Emerald- House Greyjoy- Update 3
After some considerable training which saw Asha evolve into a Tentacruel, I challenged Flannery's Gym and beat her in a sweep. I collected my Go-Goggles, trained some more in the desert and made my way back to Petalburg and challenged Dad Norman. I struggled a bit against Slaking but I got through it intact (Victarion evolved into a Lairon in the process). I collected Surf from Wally's parents, taught it to Asha, surfed to Dewford to collect Sludge Bomb (which I taught Asha), collected Ice Beam (for Aeron's later use) and made my way up the Cycling Road, through to Mauville Ctiy where I accepted the New Mauville mission from Wattson. I completed that mission, caught a Magnemite in New Mauville that I named Theon (after Theon Greyjoy who was castrated in the show) and went back to Mauville where Wattson gave me Thunderbolt. I made my way to Route 118, got the Good Rod, made my way up to Route 119, fished out a Carvhana I named Euron (after Euron "Crow's Eye" Greyjoy), did the Weather Institute event, beat Brendon again and got Fly. I then made my way to Fortree City, met Steven and got the Devon Scope, cleared the Path to the Gym. I trained a bit (Aeron evolved into Swampert) and Theon swept Winona's Gym (evolving into a Magneton in the process). I made my way through Routes 120 and 121 and then set off from there to do the Mt. Pyre episode. I completed that mission, went to Lilycove to heal, and flew Rodrik to Lavaridge to do the Magma/Groudon episode. I saved and ended for the day.

Emerald- House Greyjoy- Update 4
I did the Magma/Groudon episode inside of Mt. Chimney and got through with relative ease because of my Water Pokemon (in the interim, I went back to Rustboro for the Exp Share and Euron evolved into a Sharpedo). Maxie was a breeze. I then went to Slateport to start the Aqua/Kyogre episode. I went back to Lilycove, subdued Team Aqua at their base there, but Archie got away. I surfed to Mossdeep, beat Tate and Liza with Euron and Victarion, teamed up with Steven at the Space Center to beat Team Magma for the final time, then collected Dive and made my way to the Seafloor Cavern. There, I made quick work of Team Aqua and Archie, but was too late. I went to Sootopolis to meet up with Steven, saw Groudon and Kyogre engaging in a destructive battle and then met with Wallace in the Cave of Origin. I then went on the mission to the Sky Pillar to unleash Rayquaza and then flew back to Sootopolis. Rayquaza quelled the fighting and disappeared. I received Waterfall as a reward for my troubles and then went on to blow Juan out of the water with Theon and Aeron. I saved and ended for the day.

Emerald- House Greyjoy- Update 5
I went to Victory Road and fought my way to the Pokemon League (Victaron evolved into Aggron in the process). I trained in Victory Road until all of my Pokemon were up to level 60-65 and then took on the Elite 4.
Sydney- Victarion and Asha swept the Dark Dude
Phoebe- Euron and Asha swept the Ghost Girl
Glacia- Theon and Victarion swept the Ice Queen
Drake- Aeron swept the Dragon Master
Wallace- Theon, Asha and Rodrik took care of the Champ.

Emerald- House Greyjoy- Update 6
I trained some more in Victory Road and made my way to the depths of Meteor Falls to face the King of Hoenn, Steven Stone. Asha and Victatrion were my greatest allies in defeating the Metal Man.

I'm potentially interested in doing a Baratheon run in Ruby or Sapphire. But you don't get access to Leftovers until the post-game in the Hoenn games, so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do in regards to the first house rule.

If you wish, you could generate any items or Pokemon needed to do the Challenge once the rules permit.

I apologize for the mistakes, English is not my first language.

I got really excited about this challenge. I am so much GOT fan *-*, so intend to make a sort of ultimate with all the Houses, but Tyrell is love <3, and I must begin with it. Plus I never use many grass-type in games lol

Name: Morg Summers
House: House Tyrell
Game: Pokemon Emerald

Later I bring the updates.

It's no trouble. From what I see here, you speak (or write in this case) English fluently enough. That's all that really counts.

I've registered your first challenge. Make sure to update as regularly as possible.

And best of luck!!! :)
