The Wedlocke Challenge (Revisited)

After Dark Leader Adam/Sairento Tamashii "left" the forums, I took over his running for the topic of the Wedlocke Challenge, a twist on the Nuzlocke Challenge. Credit goes to Marriland (YouTuber) for the creation of this challenge.

Rules:
Spoiler:
Again, credit goes to Marriland as these are basically C/P'd from his revised rules video:

1. Fainted Pokémon are considered dead.
  • Part of what makes Nuzlocke challenges so difficult is that fainted Pokémon must be forever removed from your party, since they are considered “dead” for storyline purposes.
  • They must be either released permanently, or, optionally, may be placed in a dedicated box in the PC.

2. You can only catch the first new Pokémon in any area.
  • Whenever you enter a new route or area, you’re only able to catch or receive the first Pokémon you encounter there.
  • Gender Clause: If you have 1, 3, or 5 Pokémon on your team, ignore any encounters that are of the gender you have the most of, e.g., if you have two males and one female, you ignore any male Pokémon encounters.
  • Dupes Clause: Ignore any encounters of Pokémon that you’ve already caught. They do not count as your encounter. It is recommended to count the entire evolution line towards Dupes Clause in a Wedlocke. You may also impose a limit of how many times Dupes Clause triggers, to avoid exploiting it in order to encounter rare Pokémon.

3. You must nickname all of your Pokémon.
  • This increases the bond you’ll have with your team and make your story that much more fun.
  • Of course, in the case of Wonderwedlockes in Pokémon X or Y, or in the case of traded Pokémon in-game, you have no control over this rule, but you should nickname anything you’re able to.

4. Your Pokémon are partnered together and fight in pairs.
  • Instead of treating your party as one team of six Pokémon, it is essentially three teams of two Pokémon - each team consisting of one male and one female Pokémon.
  • Pokémon are only paired while in your party; Pokémon in the PC are not paired and are used essentially as bonus Pokémon should any die.
  • “Lone wolf” Pokémon are ones in your party that do not yet have a partner. They must be paired as soon as possible, but can still fight on its own in battle, though cannot switch out during battle.
  • Each Pokémon can only battle alongside its partner in battle, e.g., you can only switch to the other Pokémon in the active pair during battle, not Pokémon from any other pair.
  • If one Pokémon in a pair dies, the survivor must either finish the fight on its own or suffer the same fate as its partner. If the surviving Pokémon makes it through the fight, it must be paired as soon as possible with an unpaired Pokémon in the party or PC. If none are available, it becomes a “lone wolf” until one is caught.
  • The Exp. Share item (pre-XY) is allowed, even if held by a Pokémon outside of the active pair, however, the “switch training” technique (i.e., leading with a weak Pokémon then switching to a strong one) cannot be used to train Pokémon from different pairs.
  • You cannot swap partners around. Once two Pokémon are paired, they’re paired for good, unless they die or are willingly released. You are still free to switch your active (front) pair with a different pair outside of battle, though, don’t worry!

5. You cannot deposit Pokémon to your PC.
  • To add to the challenge, Pokémon cannot be deposited to the PC.
  • The only way to withdraw Pokémon is to either have something die or to replace it for good.
  • Pokémon sent to the PC after being caught are not counted as being “deposited” by this rule, nor are they paired while inside of the PC.
  • If you need to make room for gift Pokémon or in-game trades, you may temporarily deposit a Pokémon to allow for this, though the new Pokémon is not considered in your party and must be deposited ASAP.
  • The use of HM Pokémon other than what’s in your party is prohibited, unless you REQUIRE an HM to proceed, in which case one may be used.

Other Questions:
Spoiler:
What happens if something uses Roar or Whirlwind?
  • If you’re in a battle and something uses Roar, Whirlwind, or a similar move forcing you to switch to a new pair, you now use the new pair as your active pair in battle.
  • However, this does not mean you can use Baton Pass or Volt Switch to switch to one of your other pairs; you’d still only be able to switch to that Pokémon’s partner.

What if a Pokémon dies in the middle of a Double Battle?
  • Let’s say you have male A and female A in a Double Battle. Female A dies and you need to send in a new Pokémon.
  • The best way to resolve this is to send out male B (or C) and have the two males fight alongside each other. Why? They’re not paired, but that way, if either dies, you send out female B (or C) to replace the fallen Pokémon and you’ll be guaranteed to still have a pair.

What do you do about Triple Battles?
  • Let’s say you have Pokémon A and B on a team and C and D on a team. You’d have to use A, B and C in a Triple Battle. If any of those three die, D MUST be sent out to replace the fallen Pokémon.

What about Rotation Battles?
  • They are essentially the same as Triple Battles as far as handling deaths go, except you are only able to rotate between the two Pokémon in the active pair. You can rotate between A and B, but not to C.
  • If A or B dies, you send out D. If that happens, though, you must rotate between C and D, since they’re the only valid pair.
  • If the male from A and B dies and the female from C and D dies (or vice versa), you’d pair the survivors from each pair on the spot, send out either Pokémon from E or F, and only rotate between, say, A and C. A and C would then be paired after the battle concludes.

What do I do about gift Pokémon?
  • If you need to receive a gift Pokémon, it is acceptable to deposit a Pokémon to your PC temporarily to pick it up, though this process should be done as quickly as possible, and the gift Pokémon is considered as being in your PC throughout the whole process.
  • If your team consists of 1, 3, or 5 Pokémon and you receive a gift Pokémon that is not of the gender that can pair with your lone wolf, you either treat it as a second lone wolf pairing or deposit it to your PC right away.

What about Pokémon that MUST be caught or received?
  • Things like Reshiram or Zekrom in BW, and Xerneas or Yveltal in XY, that absolutely must be caught in order to proceed through the game, even though they cannot normally be caught per the Wedlocke rules, are permitted to be caught, although they cannot be used.
  • These Pokémon should be sent to the PC and not used in any battles; if they absolutely must be used, spam stat moves until they die.

Optional Rules:
Spoiler:
A black out is game over.
You must change your battle style to SET.
You can only use the Poke Center a number of times per town.
You can only buy a certain number pokeballs per town.
You must only use Pokeballs to catch pokemon.
You cannot catch legendary pokemon.
You may not heal outside the use of Pokémon Centers and moves such as Softboiled.
You may not heal outside of healing items and moves such as Softboiled.
You may not heal outside of battle.
Make comics of your challenge and have fun! (strongly recommended).
Your Pokémon cannot exceed the highest level of the next Gym Leader, otherwise it cannot be used (either until that Gym Leader has been defeated, or permanently).

Arrow_Riddari March 3rd, 2014 5:34 PM

Name: Arrow_Riddari
Game: Pokemon Black [following Marriland whoot]
Ultimate or Single?: Single [have no clue what an Ultimate Wedlocke is]
Any optional rules?: Evolution line dupes clause [5 trials], shiny clause, can choose between two double battle Pokemon in the dark grass, In game trade and gift Pokemon allowed, evolution trade allowed [no importing Pokemon from other games though], if game freezes to start from wherever last Save area was, starter based on ID, no buying healing/hold items at Pokemart [Poke-balls/Mail/Escape Rope/TMs are allowed], no using healing items either, and oh, level cap [14 for first gym, then 20, 23, 27, 31, 35, 39, 43, 45-55 Elite Four, 55 N, 60 Ghetsis, 68-75 Elite Four rematch, and 75-80 Alder]. Pinwheel Forest and Dragonspiral Tower counts as 2 encounters [outside and inside].

Update 1:
Spoiler:
I named myself as 'Hot' and became a girl. My ID ended with a 3, so I got a Snivy, named Deku [males are named after things from Zelda]. Deku was pretty cool. He easily beat Bianca and Cheren and I headed to Route 1. In Route 1, I ignored everything [no female Pokemon showed up anyways] and went to the whole Accumula Town Team Plasma thing. I battled N and won easily, and on Route 2, I got a female Purrloin, named Cattail [I wanted a Lillipup, and females are named after flowers and plants]. Well, I healed, and pitched Cattail against a male Lillipup on Route 2. The puppy used Tackle and got a Critical Hit on Cattail, OHKO-ing her. R.I.P. Cattail. I went to Route 1 to get my encounter there [I needed it, of course] and found a Patrat, named Petunia. Now, I am training Petunia and Deku together and praying that they don't die.

Pairing:
Spoiler:
Deku the Quiet, Often Lost in Thought, Male Snivy and Petunia the Naughty, Somewhat Stubborn, Female Patrat

Deaths:
Spoiler:
Cattail the Bashful, Mischievous, Female Purrloin level 4-4 I am sorry about your death. I wanted a Lillipup, but when I met you, I figured that Deku would like his kitty more. I wanted to make you strong, but ended up killing you in my foolishness. Deku lost his precious kitty thanks to me, but I know that you would want him to move on to Petunia now and that you will always be watching over him...

Will add more later.

White Wedlocke, Update #2

Spoiler:
So I saved the Munna in the Dreamyard from Team Plasma, then after getting the C-Gear, went up to Route 3.
http://imageshack.com/a/img854/5118/314i.png http://imageshack.com/a/img844/1746/6wx5.png
Beat Cheren. I used the same Growl strategy on his Snivy with Growth.

So then I went to Wellspring Cave and chased down Team Plasma, beat their boring Patrats, and got my encounter, a female Roggenrola.
http://imageshack.com/a/img46/453/y93n.png
Sounds right. Then my encounter for Route 3 was a male Blitzle, which Chives almost killed with a critical hit Lick when it was low on health.
http://imageshack.com/a/img62/6112/wi2f.png
There. I beat the rest of the trainers, none of them were too memorable, except one trainer with a Pidove that got two critical hits on Swing but didn't kill me. Afterwards, I got to Nacrene City and did some stuff there before going to Pinwheel Forest.
http://imageshack.com/a/img40/5893/5h3l.png
Where my encounter was a Timburr that I named Credential. The trainers here were a bit trippy, but not too bad (except the Fighting-type trainers which I avoided since all my females are weak to them).
http://imageshack.com/a/img35/9527/9oxl.png
After some training everyone to Level 17 (and Swing evolving into Dewott), I swept N with Peppy. His Timburr was a little scary, but I OHKOed it with a Charged Shock Wave.

Once everyone was Level 19, I went into the Gym and beat the trainers. Then I got to 20, and took on Lenora.
http://imageshack.com/a/img834/4123/p1r8.png http://imageshack.com/a/img850/9623/02zf.png
Paralysis + Iron Defense + Hypnosis misses = very anticlimactic battle. So I got the Basic Badge, but then Team Plasma attacked the museum. After they left, I met with Burgh and got the Dowsing Machine from Bianca.
http://imageshack.com/a/img35/6228/bac7.png
My encounter for Pinwheel Forest was a male Pidove which I named Angry Bird. Afterward, I went through the forest and got Team Plasma out of there before taking Skyarrow Bridge into Castelia City. I got some nice items there.
http://imageshack.com/a/img39/6623/khlf.png
Also went to Route 4 and got a male Sandile which I named Blinky.
http://imageshack.com/a/img89/6567/9xdy.png
Sadly, this Trubbish trolled me so hard. Hit with DoubleSlap five times then breaks through Charge and kills me with a critical hit. :(

I replaced Peppy with Credential, my new Timburr.
http://imageshack.com/a/img845/522/gno8.png
Then I went through with Burgh, Bianca and Iris and got Team Plasbad out of the city. I trained everyone around Level 22, then used a Fire Stone to evolve Chives into Pansear. I breezed through the Gym Trainers; they didn't land a single hit on me.
http://imageshack.com/a/img856/7602/06hg.png http://imageshack.com/a/img850/2897/r7tn.png http://imageshack.com/a/img31/1648/4y89.png
As for the Gym battle, the only thing to cause me any real concern was Dwebble because of Struggle Bug. I got it to sleep and switched in Entendre to give a light hit with Pursuit, but it immediately woke up as I switched in Chives and lowered my Sp Atk with Struggle Bug. So I had to switch in Entendre AGAIN. Other than that, it was easy.

I got the Insect Badge and left.

So here's my team:

RIP:
Spoiler:

Blitzle (M) "Peppy", Level 8-21
Caught at: Route 3
Cause of death: Critical hit Sludge from Janitor Geoff's Trubbish while at 34/54 HP and +1 Sp Def.

Pendraflare March 17th, 2014 6:40 AM

Well, haven't really had much of a chance to update this lately because of how slow the thread is, but guess i'll fill in what i've accomplished in the long wait between posts. I don't think I need to use many screens right now, however.

Spoiler:
My catches since have been:
Desert Resort - Maractus named Tango.
Relic Castle - Yamask named Phantomile.
Route 16 - Trubbish named Flemish.
Lostlorn Forest - Venipede named Intoxicate.
Route 5 - Solosis named Metamorph.
Nacrene City - Revived Archen and named it Predator.
Driftveil Drawbridge - Ducklett named Flutter.
Route 6 - Swadloon named Knife.
Cold Storage - Herdier named Nessie.
Chargestone Cave - Joltik named Beatbug.
Route 7 - Deerling named Arin.
Celestial Tower - Litwick named Flicker.
Twist Mountain - Drilbur named Shifty.
Driftveil City - Frillish named Ursula.
Mistralton Cave - Woobat named Heartkillr.
Icirrus City - Palpitoad which I forget the name of.
Route 8 - Stunfisk named Buffoon.
Outer Dragonspiral Tower - Mienfoo named Kung Pao.

Gym battles:
Elesa: Limestone used Smack Down on her Emolgas, and I did get lucky against her Zebstrika by hitting her three times with Rock Blast at one point.
Clay: Maroon barely failed to kill his Krokorok in one hit with Return, then he used Bulldoze. Since he was faster he used Swagger, and I eventually nearly died from confusion, but I hit through it with 11 HP. Palpitoad I used Swing against, and Grass Knot 2HKOed him while all he did was Aqua Ring then Muddy Water for a pathetic 1/8 my health. Excadrill I did enough to 2HKO with Razor Shell, but he used Hone Claws and flinched me with Rock Slide. He used Bulldoze which did half, then Rock Slide I lived with 3 HP (!!!!!) and finished him with Revenge.
Skyla: Her Swoobat was easy for Chives since she only used Amnesia, and Rock Tomb/Bite were easy 2HKOs. Swanna I had to survive a BubbleBeam from and use Yawn. Rock Tomb did enough to 2HKO, but I missed with one hit although she thankfully stayed asleep. Then for Unfezant I recall using Yawn, then she readied Razor Wind, I healed and she knocked me below 1/3 with a critical hit, then Rock Tomb did less than half but Flame Burst finished her off.
Brycen: Vanillish was an easy OHKO for Credential's Brick Break, but he used Mirror Shot, got a critical hit which did 1/3 and lowered my accuracy. For Beartic, I switched out to Limestone, and almost killed him with Rock Slide, but he used Brine and did 1/3. While he healed, I used Bulldoze to lower his Speed, which allowed me to bring in Credential again and, after taking another Brine for 1/5, kill him with Low Kick. Cryogonal did half my remaining health with Aurora Beam AND lowed my Attack, but Low Kick still killed him.

Deaths:
Entendre (Liepard) - Died to Scald from Cheren's Simipour in the rain at Twist Mountain after Grass Knot only did a little over half his health.
Chives (Simisear) - Died immediately afterward due to leaving him with like 10% HP.

I replaced them with Beatbug and Flicker.

Here's my team:

No problem. I asked in the Leave/Return/Account switch thread but you must not have caught it, no worries though. I do thoroughly enjoy it, so I don't mind. :)

As for my progress, all i've done since the last post was get through Dragonspiral Tower and the Relic Castle then get the Dark Stone from Alder and Juniper at the museum. I still have Bianca to fight on Route 8, which does worry me a little...and then there's Iris, who might be a hassle. Oh boy.

Oh I should just wrote it out...I'm sorry

Ultimate or Single?: Single
Any optional rules:In the event I black out my Pokemon are "protected from further harm" and can make it to the center on time and can save them from death. Also if there is a lone survivor from a battle his/her partner can survive as well. This is because this is my first "locke". I Would do a regular Nuzlocke but I much prefer the story aspect of the wedlocke:)

Pendraflare March 21st, 2014 10:42 AM

Alright, added you.

Here's my progress since my last post:
Spoiler:
Encounters:
Moor of Icirrus - No catch, due to getting five duplicates.
Route 9 - Pawniard named Slasher.
Route 10 - Bouffalant named Afro Jocky.
Victory Road - A Deino, which I killed on purpose.

Important battles:
Iris - With a Black Belt in hand (that I stole from a wild Throh), Credential was able to sweep her entire team after one Bulk Up. Fraxure died to a Brick Break after she tried to use Dragon Dance twice, then Druddigon and Haxorus were downed by one Low Kick, the latter also trying to use Dragon Dance.
Final battle against Cheren on Route 10 - Beatbug slammed all his guys in one hit except Serperior, where I tried to let Flicker in, and things got a bit scary when he barely lived my Flame Burst, then I used Toxic expecting him to heal. But Leaf Blade did half because of Overgrow, which was scary so I healed twice, thankfully no crits.

After those were done, I went through the trainers on Route 10 and Victory Road. There were a few scary trainers, and a bit of hax to go around, but I somehow made it through without losing anyone. I did skip the Black Belt in there though, mostly because Fighting-type trainers are really scary. Ugh, not looking forward to Marshal. God, how do I still have half my original six at this point?!

Ooooooh, we have an Ultimate Challenger here. Awesome, I am seriously contemplating doing an Ultimate soon myself. B)

As for me...
White Wedlocke - Semi-Finale

Spoiler:
New catches:
Dragonspiral Tower (inner) - Druddigon named Destiny.

After that, I trained everyone to Level 50, which was my level limit before entering the Elite Four. Here was how they turned out!

Caitlin - Reuniclus was an easy OHKO for Flicker's Shadow Ball. Musharna survived with 1 HP then did half to me with her Shadow Ball, but her Special Defense was lowered so I OHKOed her with the next one. Sigilyph was slammed by Beatbug's Thunderbolt, and Gothitelle was surprisingly killed in one hit by Flicker's Shadow Ball.
Shauntal - Cofagrigus and Golurk were easy OHKOs by Flicker's Shadow Ball, especially with Spell Tag backing. For Jellicent, I brought in Beatbug and used Charge Beam as to avoid having Thunderbolt disabled by Cursed Body. It did less than half and got the boost, then she used Surf for less than half. One more Charge Beam and she was dead, but not without Cursed Body disabling it.
Marshal - I started with Limestone lowering his Throh's accuracy with Sand-Attack, then I brought in Credential, who had the Rocky Helmet, and setting up some Bulk Ups. After I got to +4, I healed with a Hyper Potion, then I easily killed him with Low Kick before his other three died accordingly (Sawk after Rocky Helmet killed his Sturdy).
Grimsley - THIS, however, was a fight. My Samurott hit through Scrafty's Sand-Attack and burned him with Scald, then barely took anything from Crunch (except a Defense drop) and killed him with Surf. Then, when Krookodile came in I brought in Maroon, who had the BrightPowder, and lowered his accuracy with Flash, then he missed four attacks in a row! I even got him to -2 accuracy, but once he hit with Earthquake I switched for Swing, who took enough to die from another hit, so I used a Moomoo Milk and he missed two more times, allowing me to kill him from 2/3 HP with Surf. Bisharp, however, was where things got crazy. I brought in Maroon, and tried to use Low Kick...but he barely lived and killed her with Night Slash. So I brought in Swing, who, after he healed, 2HKOed Bisharp with Scald and took 1/3 from Night Slash. Then Liepard came out and almost became an annoyance with Attract, but a Torrent-boosted Scald (after Fake Out, then Night Slash doing 1/4) killed him in one hit.

Oh boy...I lost Maroon, our very first Pokémon captured, but I did NOT think she would last that long. She fought so well, and without those accuracy drops this would have been a LOT gnarlier.

Anyway, I headed to the Champion's room, but Alder was defeated and N summoned his castle, you all know what happens next. But we'll take on the final battles next time, after I find a replacement for Maroon, oh man.

So here's my team:

So I just have N and Ghetsis left...gulp. (Unless I decide to do the post-game and rematch the Elite Four and Alder, which I don't know if I will or not.)

EDIT:

White Wedlocke - Finale

I beat N and Ghetsis. Here was how it turned out:
Spoiler:
First, I chose Kung Pao, my Mienfoo, to replace Maroon. I trained her up to Level 52, as did I the rest of my team.

Then, I used the Master Ball on Zekrom, and battled N. I used Limestone and Credential against him, and had Limestone use Toxic against Reshiram and set up Stealth Rock, then stalled him out with Protect, although he did use a Full Restore.
Zoroark and Klinklang both died to Low Kick from Credential.
For Vanilluxe, I had to switch out since Credential was low on health AND my Special Defense was lowered. He only used Hail, but I hit with Rock Slide and killed him.
Then Carracosta, who after I healed up Credential on, killed with Hammer Arm (Sturdy notwithstanding thanks to Stealth Rock chipping off his health).
Lastly, Archeops, who I (jerkishly) stalled out of Stone Edges until he missed then used Limestone's Rock Slide to kill him.

Then we had Ghetsis. For Cofagrigus, I used Limestone's Toxic against him, set up Stealth Rock, healed his Toxic damage and got him to the point where Toxic killed him. He missed with Shadow Ball at one point because I had BrightPowder, haha.
After that was his ace, Hydreigon. I brought in Credential, and the Quick Claw activated and I killed him in one hit (well, after Stealth Rock) with Low Kick. I was cheering so excitedly over that. :D
Next up was, surprisingly, Bouffalant, who did less than half with Head Charge and about 22% of his health in recoil before I killed him with Low Kick.
Eelektross was afterward, and I used Limestone's Toxic and Protect, but Toxic barely failed to kill him and he used his Full Restore, then I Toxic'd him again. However, he barely lived with a sliver of health, and I refused to heal, so Limestone died to Crunch, but not without him dying to Toxic.
Afterward was Seismitoad, who took a bit over half from Credential's Low Kick, but he used Rain Dance then killed me with Muddy Water. I brought in Kung Pao and stalled the rain with Fake Out, then brought in Swing, avoiding a Muddy Water, and taking less than half from Earthquake before killing him with Grass Knot.
Bisharp was last, and died to one Drain Punch from Kung Pao, wrapping this all up.

And that's that! I don't think i'll rematch the Elite Four and challenge Alder, MAYBE, but not likely.

Wow, people. A month and no posts? I’m disappointed. Time to really YOLOSWAG it!

At no point can my Pokémon’s levels exceed the highest level of the next Gym Leader. If ever they are, they can never be used again.

Spoiler:
So I started the game, chose the girl and named her Youmna, and named my rival Luke.

Starter: My ID No. was 16123, so a Snivy named Lacerta.
Route 19: A female Purrloin named Octant.
Route 20: A female Patrat named Horologium.
Floccesy Ranch: A male Psyduck named Pisces that was paired with Horologium.

But during training, Horologium died to a critical hit Scratch from a higher level Purrloin while she was at 7/16 HP. Luke’s Tepig wasn’t any concern though; Pisces killed it in two hits with Water Gun.

Nevertheless, I went in against Cheren while my main pair was both Level 14, and kept using Octant’s Growl until his Patrat was at -3 Defense, then I brought in Lacerta and used Growth four times, then swept him, but it was close. His Pidove survived a Tackle and knocked me from 12 to 3 HP with a +1 Quick Attack, but it worked out.

Virbank Complex: A female Growlithe named CanisMajor that was paired with Pisces.

Against Roxie, Pisces beat her Koffing to the punch with some Confusion hits despite only having 21/51 HP afterward. Grimer Disabled my Confusion but I killed her with a critical hit Water Pulse afterward. Then for Whirlipede, CanisMajor knocked her low, but I was slower and thanks to her Sitrus Berry she lived two hits and killed me with a critical hit right when I would have beat her. =( Pisces was faster and finished her with Confusion, thankfully.

Castelia Sewers: A female Zubat named Andromeda that was paired with Pisces.
Castelia Garden: A female Pidove named Grus.
Route 4: A male Minccino named Libra, but I released it because I had NOTHING for Elesa coming up and would have been hard pressed against her otherwise.
Relic Passage: A male Drilbur named Mensa that was paired with Grus.

Burgh was nothing worth writing home about. Pisces 2HKOed his Dwebble with Water Pulse, and Andromeda (as a Crobat) creamed his other Pokémon with ease.

Route 16: A male Solosis named Pictor.
Lostlorn Forest: A female Venipede named Triangulum.
Desert Resort: A female Sigilyph named Ara.
Relic Castle: A male Sandshrew named Auriga.
Route 5’s Hidden Grotto: A male Minccino named Libra II.
Route 5: Nothing, found a Liepard, a Solosis, then two duos of Solosis, so I ran my Dupes Clause encounters out.

Elesa was just as weak; my Excadrill slammed everything of hers while Zebstrika only used Pursuit against me for 8 damage.

Driftveil Drawbridge: A female Ducklett named Cygnus.
Driftveil City: Got N’s Zorua from Rood.
Route 6: A female Swadloon named Caelum.
Chargestone Cave: A female Joltik named Circinus.

For Clay, all I really had to do was lower Krokorok’s Attack with Octant’s Growl, then after beating that and Onix with ease thanks to Lacerta (who was evolved into Serperior), I set up a Coil against Sandslash and beat that easily, then Excadrill was taken care of by Leech Seed despite me being slowed down from Bulldoze.

However, after taking care of the PWT and the Plasma Frigate, Octant died against a Backpacker’s Sandslash in the Relic Passage. It used Sand Tomb after I used Growl, critical hit and I couldn’t switch out, then it used Dig and I was dead. So I replaced her with Circinus the Joltik.

So here’s my team:

RIP:
Spoiler:
Patrat (F) “Horologium”, Level 3
Obtained at: Route 19
Cause of death: Critical hit Scratch from a wild Purrloin on Route 19 while at 7/16 HP.

Growlithe (F) “CanisMajor”, Level 11-19
Obtained at: Virbank Complex
Cause of death: Critical hit Venoshock from Roxie’s Whirlipede while at 19/51 HP.

Liepard (F) “Octant”, Level 4-34
Obtained at: Route 19
Cause of death: Dig from Backpacker Eileen’s Sandslash in the Relic Passage while below 1/3 health.

Anyways ~
Deaths: 32 D: Most of them happened thanks to stupid crits >_< The most devastating oens were probably Altaria and Charizard ~ I lost Charizard to Blizzard and crit and I lost Altaria to Dragon Claw ~ while she was paralyzed - and that stupid flygon? First update for FireRed Omega!

Spoiler:

Chose Elekid as a starter, paired with a wild Ponyta.
Most importantly for my second squad, I found a wild Mankey that knew Low Kick.
Mankey's partners became unimportant as they perished after Brock.

BROCK (Badge #1)
I was faced with a Challenge right from the start, and one I was not sure I could take on. Brock had a really balanced team in this hack, including a Vulpix. However, my Mankey was the temporary star of the team, and his sacrifice was needed to move on to the next part of the game.

GARY
The Rival Fight after Mt. Moon in Cerulean was a true throwdown; it seemed that I was bringing Pokemon out for their pending deaths. The ones that made it out alive were Shroomish, Ekans, and Larvitar, which meant I needed a partner for Larvitar.

Once Gary was finished, I rebuilt the core of my team with new additions Taillow and Totodile. I grinded Taillow and Shroomish to their final forms, then caught a Tangela to match with Totodile and help against Misty.

MISTY (Badge #2)
I had my sparkly new Tangela lead against Misty, and I knew it was about to die. It took out three of Misty's Pokemon before it finally fell. Breloom did mop work, defeating Starmie, Togetic, and Seadra. Swellow was my switch-out option, whose Wing Attack softened some of her Pokemon up.

THE CURRENT TEAM
Spoiler:

*Tango the Tangela is dead, so a new replacement is needed. Totodile is dead by default as it is her partner.

I HAVE to Double-post here, because I just blackes out against Surge, so I'm pulling out. FireRed Omega is harder than I remember...

Well been a long time since I returned to this thread, been documenting this on Marriland but may as well post this for my White 2 run.

I went through Chargestone Cave and made it into Mistralton City.

Spoiler:
Route 7: A male Zebstrika named Centaurus, but it killed Mensa.

I then paired Grus with Libra II, my HA Minccino. I got it to evolve into a Cinccino with a Shiny Stone.

Celestial Tower: A male Litwick named Fornax.

For Skyla, I used Grus who beat that Swoobat rather easily thanks to a strong STAB Return. Swanna and Sigilyph were downed in one 5-hit from Libra II's Rock Blast. For Skarmory, I paralyzed it with Libra II's Thunder Wave, caught it on Agility and Encored it into that. I crippled it with some Tickles.

I then went to Lentimas Town through Skyla's plane.

Reversal Mountain (outer): A male Vibrava named Musca. Also, this thing nearly killed both Pisces AND Andromeda.
Strange House: Nothing, ran into two Golbat, a Solosis and a Duosion.
Reversal Mountain (inner): A male Boldore named Sagitta.
Undella Town: Nothing, ran into a female Jellicent and three Frillish.
Undella Bay: A male Spheal named Capricrnus.
Route 6 Hidden Grotto: A female Woobat named Apus.
Mistralton Cave: A male Aron named Hercules.
Guidance Chamber: A male Axew named Draco.
Route 14: A female Mienfoo named Lepus

I beat Luke, he was pretty easy for Libra II and Grus. Not gonna comment on him.

Route 13: A male Absol named Crux.

However, an Ace Trainer on Route 13 had an Eelektrik that killed Pisces because it paralyzed me with Discharge. So I replaced him with Auriga, my Sandshrew. It evolved into a Sandslash quickly.

Route 12: A female Combee, which I killed. F*** COMBEE!!!
Village Bridge: A male Seviper named Serpens.
Route 11: A male Zangoose named Lupus.
Route 9: A female Pawniard named Corona.
Route 7's Hidden Grotto: A male Seviper named Serpens II.

While I was in the Opelucid Gym, Libra II died at the VERY LAST SECOND to a Veteran's Druddigon because of Rough Skin. They both died at the same time. I chose Hercules the Aron as its replacement.

For Drayden, Grus 2HKOed Druddigon with Return after some FeatherDance/Roost action. Hercules was holding the Air Balloon, so I was able to kill Flygon with Ice Punch. Altaria got horrifyingly shaky after Grus barely failed to OHKO it with Giga Impact and it used Cotton Guard, then he healed as I recharged. But I killed him with 11 HP remaining. Haxorus was a joke for Hercules since he had nothing neutral. I paralyzed him with Thunder Wave and he only used Dragon Dance twice.

After Team Plasma froze Opelucid City, I beat the grunts, then Zinzolin. His Cryogonal were quick OHKOs for Andromeda, then Auriga killed Weavile with a critical hit Rock Slide. After beating the Shadow Triad member, I went to Humilau City.

Route 13's Hidden Grotto: A female Foongus named Norma.
Route 22: A female Delibird named Columba.
Humilau City: A female Corsola named Puppis.
Giant Chasm (cave): A male Vanillish named Crater.

Marlon was nothing worth writing about. His Wailord was an OHKO with Circinus' Thunder, and Mantine died to a Discharge. Carracosta I used Lacerta's Leech Seed against, and I was still faster even after Shell Smash and killed him with Leaf Blade. Lastly, Jellicent was slammed in one Leaf Blade after a Leech Seed - from 7/8 HP - without a critical hit or any boosts. For a Serperior, that's rather odd.

So here's my team:

RIP:
Spoiler:
Patrat (F) “Horologium”, Level 3

Excadrill (M) "Mensa", Level 18-37

Golduck (M) "Pisces", Level 5-44

Cause of death: Discharge from Ace Trainer Miguel’s Eelektrik while at 65/139 HP and paralyzed.

Cinccino (M) "Libra II", Level 21-49
Obtained at: Route 5's Hidden Grotto
Cause of death: Killed by repeated hits of Rough Skin from Veteran Rhona’s Druddigon triggered by Tail Slap, dying on the fourth hit that killed it also.

smh...You people need to see the greatness that is the Wedlocke Challenge! Whatever.

Anyway, I completed my White 2 Wedlocke, so here's how it went:
Spoiler:
After beating Marlon, I proceeded south.

Route 21: A female Alomomola named Vela.
Seaside Cave: A male Crustle named Pavo.

I got through the first part of the Plasma Frigate, beating as few of the grunts as possible, then beat Zinzolin alongside Luke with little trouble.

Before leaving for the Giant Chasm, I gave Heat Wave to Andromeda for use against Colress.

Giant Chasm: (entrance) A male Pelipper named Delphinus.
Route 13 Hidden Grotto: A female Spheal named Capri II.

As I went through the Plasma Frigate, I battled Colress. His Magneton was faster than Auriga, but I had a Sitrus Berry to restore some of my health. So after knocking him to 1 HP I had to get in Andromeda, who took a Flash Cannon well enough. After I killed it, Auriga 2HKOed Magneton, barely living. I knocked Beheeyem low, but he finished off Auriga. Then Andromeda killed it. For Klinklang, Heat Wave was a 2HKO, but he used Shift Gear and left me at 5 HP with Giga Impact. Then Metang MISSED with Rock Slide and two Heat Waves finished him.

So I chose Musca the Flygon as Auriga's replacement, and trained her up to Level 56. After rolling through the Shadow Triad, and the big climax stuff, Ghetsis tries to kill you, N saves you but White Kyurem is created, I went in. Andromeda 2HKOed Kyurem with Acrobatics after a Flying Gem, then it was time for Ghetsis.

Cofagrigus I managed to confuse with Confuse Ray, and Acrobatics actually did more than half and he hurt himself, so I killed that without a scratch. But then Eelektross came out. I thought it had Dragon Claw (although it didn't), so I stayed in. I used Confuse Ray and it hurt itself, and I used Toxic but he hit with Thunderbolt and I was low on health. After a Dragon Claw, he used Acrobatics and was knocked low, but he healed and Dragon Claw did less than half. I had a bit over 1/3 my health when he died. Then Hydreigon came out. Dragon Claw did good damage, but he killed me with Dragon Rush. He even got a critical hit just to rub it in my face. Andromeda finished him with Acrobatics. Then Seismitoad took well over half from Acrobatics, but killed Andromeda with Muddy Water. Grus finished him with Return. Toxicroak did around 1/4 with Sucker Punch before I killed him with Fly. Finally, Drapion I used FeatherDance against and 3HKOed with Return after some Roost stalling.

Once we were done with that and Ghetsis was gone, I replaced those two with Crux the Absol and Capri II the HA Spheal I had just caught. The only reason I wanted it was for Waterfall. I met with N at Victory Road's entrance and got Waterfall, which I slapped onto the Spheal. I went to the Abundant Shrine.

Abundant Shrine: A female Altaria named Antlia.
Route 23: A male Bouffalant named Taurus.

I trained up Crux, but Capri II died against a Zebstrika on Route 7, although I really didn't care much. I replaced her with Ara, the Sigilyph I got at the Desert Resort. Once everyone was Level 60/61, I entered Victory Road!

Victory Road: A male Roselia named Gemini.

However, Circinus died against a Veteran's Throh with Rock Slide, and Hercules died against Luke's Simipour because I MISSED with Rock Slide. Before that, I did attach a Persim Berry to counter Unfezant's Swagger, and used Rock Polish to get to +2 Attack and Speed. Grus was thankfully faster than Simipour, otherwise she would have died. Emboar was busted in one hit to Fly.

I chose Antlia the Altaria for Lacerta's new partner and Draco the Axew for Grus'. I trained everyone up to Level 63, applied Move Tutor moves and went in!

Shauntal was nothing worth mention of. Crux used Swords Dance, and Cofagrigus used Will-o-Wisp, but I had a Rawst Berry. From there on I swept her. Sucker Punch took care of Choice Scarf Chandelure.

Grimsley I started off with Grus' FeatherDance, and got his Liepard to -6 Attack. Then I stalled him out of Night Slashes with Detect and Roost, then brought in Draco. Despite his Attract being annoying, I got to +5 Attack and Speed and swept him from there, even with Krookodile's Intimidate lowering my Attack by one stage. I had Low Kick.

Marshal was a similar deal. Against Throh, I began with Lacerta's Leech Seed, then brought in Antlia. I had to keep using Dragon Dance to counteract Rock Tomb (which he didn't miss a single time with), and Cotton Guard. Once I had +6 Attack and Defense and +1 Speed, I went in for it and rammed through his team.

Lastly was Caitlin. I used Crux and Ara. I disabled Musharna's Hypnosis with Taunt, and killed her with Sucker Punch. Then was Reuniclus. I boosted to +6 (Special) Defense with Cosmic Power, and my Shadow Ball did less than half but her Leftovers actually brought her above the point where she would have healed. Sigilyph I killed with Crux's Sucker Punch. Next was Metagross. I used Ara's Cosmic Power, and she took Shadow Ball well enough. I used Heat Wave for more than half, and after another Shadow Ball she was knocked low from Life Orb recoil, then she healed and I 2HKOed her with two more shots of Heat Wave. Lastly, Gothitelle died in one hit to a (most likely unnecessary) critical hit Night Slash from Crux.

So we beat the Elite Four without losing anyone! Now for the Champion!

For Iris, Draco killed Hydreigon and Druddigon in one hit with Dragon Claw. For Lapras I went to Grus, and did more than half with Return, but Blizzard killed her in one hit. I killed her from there with Draco's Low Kick. Next was her own Haxorus, and Draco knocked her to her Focus Sash with Outrage, then she killed me with her Outrage. I brought in Crux and killed her with Sucker Punch (she couldn't heal because she was locked into Outrage). Then I killed Aggron with Superpower. Lastly was Archeops. I had to bring in Ara since Crux's stats were lowered...but she missed with Stone Edge! So I used Ice Beam and did BIG damage, then after she healed I paralyzed her with Thunder Wave, and took 64% or so from Stone Edge while I 2HKOed her with Ice Beam for the win.

So here was my final team:

I also completed my X Wedlocke as well, with no bag items in battle, a level limit, and a Dupes Clause that counted anything I used in White or White 2 as a dupe. And a slight modification to the encounter rule regarding genders.

Guess i'll post the final battles, since i'm too lazy to type out everything else:
Spoiler:
Malva I swept in four turns with Hydride, my Greninja.

Drasna I used Kunzite, my Klefki, and set up some Calm Minds against Dragalge. I had to use Rest after I was paralyzed, but after three boosts I beat her in two hits of Dazzling Gleam (I barely failed to do so after two boosts). That took like five minutes haha. Noivern broke my sub with Flamethrower, but I killed that and Druddigon in one hit. Then Hydride killed Noivern with Ice Beam.

For Siebold, I used Electrum, my Lanturn. I stockpiled 3 against Clawitzer, used Charge then killed him with Discharge. Gyarados used Dragon Dance and lived my Discharge with 1 HP, but he healed and then I killed him next time. Barbaracle hardly did anything with Stone Edge, and Discharge did JUST over half and I paralyzed him then killed him. Starmie used Light Screen while I used Charge, then he used Psychic for hardly anything and I killed him with a critical hit.

Last was Wikstrom. His Klefki used Torment while Lapis, my Durant, used Hone Claws. He used Spikes as I burrowed before I killed him. Probopass I killed despite being almost dead (Power Gem hit harder than I thought it would!). When Aegislash came out, I forgot about Torment, and Iron Head didn't get the flinch, so he killed me. Electrum stockpiled 2, and because he was in Blade forme I killed him with two hits of Scald. Scizor, however, was faster and got a critical hit on the FIRST HIT, and Scald did less than half but the second hit burned him. He had no Full Restores left, so I finished him off.

So yeah, that was the first time in a Nuzlocke or Wedlocke that I lost a Pokémon before the Champion. But how will it work against the Champion? Let's find out!

Against the Champion, Diantha, I started with Zirconium, my Tentacruel. Hawlucha used Swords Dance while I counteracted with Barrier. Flying Press didn't do much at all while Ice Beam was a 2HKO. Aurorus I slaughtered with Brick Break from Tourmaline (my Medicham). Gourgeist I used Barrier against and she used Trick-or-Treat, and Ice Beam did more than half. I was hit slightly hard with Phantom Force, but I still killed her. Tyrantrum I did more than half to with Ice Beam, but I froze her solid! :o Then for Goodra I poisoned her with Poison Jab and eventually killed her while her Dragon Pulses did less than 1/4. Finally, Gardevoir was busted with one Poison Jab from Tourmaline for the win.

Lastly was AZ, who i'm not gonna comment on. Zirconium took care of him. Sigilyph was slower and only used Cosmic Power.

Here was my final team:

P.S. Since I'm doing six games, I have an additional rule where I ignore an encounter if it's on the current team for any other party. Essentially, I want to avoid using the same Pokemon twice at any given time.

P.P.S. I'm using a coin toss app to decide the gender of my wild encounters in Red - heads for males, tails for females. For Pokemon with gender ratios that aren't 1:1, I'm using a RNG instead.

Oooooh, we have two Ultimate Challengers in here, huh? You guys better not let me down. And Enigmaeffect if you want to play that way with Red I guess i'll allow it.

As for me?

Heart Gold Wedlocke - Update #1

Spoiler:
So I started the game, named myself Alex and my rival Silver. My ID No. was 42810, meaning I got my choice of starter. I picked Cyndaquil and named it Bagpipes. My naming theme is musical instruments.

Encounters:
Route 29: A female Sentret named Accordion who was immediately paired with Bagpipes.
Route 46: A male Spearow named Horn.
Route 30: A female Pidgey named Xylophone who was immediately paired with Horn.
Dark Cave: A female Geodude named Steelpan.
Route 31: A male Caterpie named Handbell who was immediately paired with Steelpan.
Route 32: A female Rattata named Recorder.
Sprout Tower: A male Gastly named Organ.

After some training and getting some evolutions, Falkner was easy. Steelpan used Rock Throw on both his Pokémon, and his Pidgeotto didn't use Roost.

Union Cave: A female Sandshrew named Trombone.
Route 33: A female Zubat named Clapsticks.
Ilex Forest: A female Oddish named Alboka.
I skipped Slowpoke's Well (read: used Repels there) so I could come back once I had Surf. I got Team Rocket out of there pretty easily.

Bugsy was a joke too. Scyther was downed in one Rock Throw from Steelpan, then it hit Metapod hard and I brought in Handbell to kill it and Kakuna.

Silver was also anticlimactic. Handbell paralyzed his Croconaw and all he did was use Scary Face, and by the time he was attacking it was too late. Steelpan beat his other two steadily. Then I got Pokérus, which was crazy. But with that I went through Ilex Forest.

Route 34: A male Drowzee named Tuba.

Afterward, I arrived in Goldenrod City and left it off there.

So here's my team:

Deaths:
Spoiler:

That's where I am right now, so hopefully you guys will be faster in replying! I'll update in a minute.

Any optional rules?: None

Pendraflare June 17th, 2014 9:08 AM

Since he said he'll probably update soon, i'll do another update.

Heart Gold Wedlocke - Update #2

Spoiler:
While I was training, I found out I had Pokérus! Which was pretty cool if I say so myself. Then I had to fight Silver. His Croconaw was the only thing of any importance, and all he did was use Scary Face and get fully paralyzed from Handbell, until his Bite didn't do very much at all. Steelpan beat his other two easily.

Then I went through the Ilex Forest into Route 34.

Encounters:
Route 34 - A male Drowzee named Tuba.
Route 35 - A female Nidoran named Triangle.
Bug-Catching Contest - A female Weedle, which I killed on purpose.
Route 36 - A male Growlithe named Bassoon.

I spent time at the Game Corner to get lots of coins, and I got a Flamethrower TM for Bagpipes which I gave him. When the time came for Whitney, I had a Silver Wind TM from the Lottery, so Handbell made easy work of Clefairy then Miltank was beaten by Steelpan without much trouble at all. Then I got the Berry Pots.

Route 37 - A Stantler, but I ran from it because I had weakened it, it was breaking free of my Poké Balls, both Steelpan and Handbell were asleep, and Handbell was almost dead because of a critical hit Stomp.
Route 38 - A Miltank named Conga.
Burned Tower - Skipped my encounter with Repels so I could come back in the post-game with the Sinnoh Sound.

I had to battle Silver, but he was a joke because all his Croconaw did to Accordion was Scary Face, and Bagpipes razed his other three with Flamethrower. But on Route 39, Xylophone died against a Psychic's Slowpoke because it Cursed to +5 and I just barely failed to kill it with Gust. Thankfully Horn finished it off.

Route 39 - A male Pineco named Maracas.

After arriving in Olivine, I chose Trombone, my Sandshrew, as Xylophone's replacement. I then had some training to do, and got everyone to Level 22.

Once I entered the Ecruteak Gym, Bagpipes barreled through every single trainer. He OHKO'd all their Pokémon with Flamethrower or Flame Wheel thanks to the Charcoal boost. He gained three levels on the way to Morty, haha.

Morty was no different. Bagpipes OHKO'd all his Pokémon, except Gengar who I had Accordion stall out of Sucker Punches then keep using Shadow Claw.

With that I got my fourth badge, and now I can use Surf.

So here's my team:

RIP:
Spoiler:
http://www.serebii.net/pokearth/sprites/hgss/017.png(F) "Accordion", Level 4-19
Obtained at: Route 30
Cause of death: OHKO'ed by +5 Headbutt from Psychic Nelson's Slowpoke.

Chevitile June 17th, 2014 12:19 PM

First update for LeafGreen. It's going to be quite long, so I'll put it as a spoiler.

Spoiler:

♦ Started the game, chose the female character and named her Leaf. Picked Squirtle as my starter, and named him Tortank.
♦ Beat my rival and delivered Oak's Parcel to him. Then, I was off on my adventure!
♦ Tortank's partner turned out to be a Pidgey, from Route 1. Named her Talontrap.
♦ First encounter on Route 22 was a female Rattata, named Rat-A-Tap. Paired her with Stingy the male Weedle from Route 2.
♦ Trained all of them up to Lv 10 (making Weedle a Beedrill), and then took on my rival on Route 22. Tortank handled his Pidgey, and Talontrap took out his Bulbasaur.
♦ My encounter in Viridian Forest was a female Metapod, named Deandra. Since she only knew Harden, and didn't have a partner yet, I held off on using her.
♦ Made my way out of the forest, and challenged Brock. Tortank OHKO'd all of his Pokémon with Water Gun.
♦ On Route 3, Tortank evolved into Wartortle. My encounter for the Route was a male Spearow, whom I named Roweno and then paired with Deandra.
♦ Before continuing through Mt. Moon, I trained everyone up to Lv 15, causing Deandra to become a Butterfree.
♦ Trekked through Mt. Moon, and caught a female Sandshrew as my first encounter on Route 4 just outside. Named her Swine.
♦ Decided to train up Tortank and Talontrap to Lv 20 before facing my rival, giving me a Pidgeotto. He was taken down easily after that.
♦ Defeated the trainers and Rocket grunt on Nugget Bridge, and encountered a female Bellsprout on Route 24. Named it Donnabella.
♦ Continued through Route 25 to Bill's house. I decided to not capture anything, since the only Pokémon on the Route I haven't previously caught is Abra, and I don't feel like risking that. Therefore, I'll wait until I'm better prepared, or when I have Surf/a rod for the water area.
♦ Anyway, got the S.S. Ticket from Bill, and then took on the gym after getting everyone up to Lv 20. This caused Rat-A-Tap and Roweno to evolve.
♦ Once again, Tortank and Talontrap were the duo to take down Misty.
♦ Beat the Rocket grunt outside one of the houses, and then moved along to Vermillion City. On Route 5 I encountered a female Meowth, whom I named Qash Queen, and on Route 6 I decided to skip the grass and save that area for fishing/surfing.
♦ In Diglett's Cave, I caught a female Diglett named D-Dawg.
♦ My encounter for Route 11 was a male Drowzee, whom I named Hipnez.
♦ In a battle between Rat-A-Tap and a Magnemite, Rat-A-Tap sadly passed away due to a lethal parafusion + SonicBoom combo. Stingy avenged her, and was paired with D-Dawg.
♦ Trained Diglett up to Lv 21, and then boarded the S.S. Anne. D-Dawg eventually evolved, and was able to take down my rival with her partner Stingy.
♦ D-Dawg then swept the Vermillion Gym.
♦ Oak's aide adviced me to go through Rock Tunnel, so I made my way there. On Route 9 I didn't catch anything, since I already had everything that route had to offer. However, Deandra died from a Geodude's Rock Throw, due to me forgetting I had placed this pair in the lead. Roweno was able to take it down with Pursuit, and then I paired him with Donnabella to ensure that no such terrible events from a Geodude may ever occur again.
♦ Donnabella evolved while training, and then I skipped my encounter on Route 10 for the time being. In Rock Tunnel, I encountered a female Geodude, whom I named HeadnBldrs (supposed to be Head and Boulders).
♦ Donnabella and Roweno got through half of Rock Tunnel, and Tortank and Talontrap got through the rest.
♦ From Lavender Town, I went west to Route 8 to encounter something. Turned out to be a female Vulpix, but I was unable to catch it due to it using Roar.
♦ Beat the trainers on the route, and made it to Celadon City. Decided to not catch anything on Route 7 just yet.
♦ Went to the Game Corner and fought a bunch of Rockets in their hideout. Towards the end, a Koffing's Selfdestruct was the end for Stingy. D-Dawg fought bravely for him, and was later partnered with Hipnez after having pulled of a victory. Trained him up, and evolved him into Hypno.
♦ Defeated Giovanni using Roweno and Donnabella. Acquired the Silph Scope.
♦ Went and grabbed the Eevee (my encounter for Celadon), who was male and whom I named Speed Star.
♦ Challenged the gym before moving on. It was mostly taken care of by Roweno.
♦ Returned to Lavender after having received my badge, and took on my rival using the same old pair: Tortank and Talontrap.
♦ In the tower, I encountered a female Gastly. However, it used Curse after I had weakened it, causing it to faint.
♦ Once at the top, Talontrap met her fate in the same way as Stingy; Selfdestruct from a Koffing. Tortank took care of the rest, and was then partnered with Qash Queen.
♦ Received the Poké Flute from Mr. Fuji.
♦ Flew back to Cerulean to train Qash Queen up there, since she was only Lv 10.
♦ Currently saved there.

I know there are Sinnoh hacks, but what game was this and how many deaths?

AoTora June 18th, 2014 12:45 PM

I don't remember how many deaths there were but there were a lot of them :o I believe that it was one full dead box + 8 or 9 other pokemon - and I played Pearl but I randomized wild encounters like I stated few posts ago I believe ~

Oh wow D: Yeah, when a thread gets bumped back and you wait over a month for someone to post twice, you tend to forget that happens. I'll add you anyway.

Yup this challenge was crazy D: So many deaths and a lot of them were just so unnecessary thanks to crits the opponents got >.< Oh and burning, paralyzing and freezing, poisoning hacks - everything froze me or paralyzed me or burnt me or poison me even though the chances were like 10% >.<

enigmaeffect June 18th, 2014 2:05 PM

Yeah, I went and failed Y. 8 deaths between the second and third gyms. I'm starting all six of my games over, if I may. I got crushed pretty bad, but I intend to come back stronger.

EDIT 9/7: wiped again, so I'm trying this fo

Second update for LeafGreen:

Spoiler:

♦ Trained up Qash Queen to be on par with the rest of my Pokémon, which means she evolved during the process.
♦ Went to Route 16 to catch Snorlax and move onto Fuchsia, but the Snorlax ended up killing both Roweno and Donnabella with critical hits. When Tortank almost went down as well, I decided to run away from it.
♦ Speed Star and HeadnBldrs formed a new pair. I trained them up, evolved Speed Star into Jolteon and HeadnBldrs into Graveler, and got the Thunderbolt TM for Speed Star.
♦ On Cycling Road, Hipnez went down after being unable to land a move due to SmokeScreen from a Weezing. He was also poisoned. D-Dawg avenged him. Since Ultra Balls were available for purchase, I bought some and then backtracked to Route 25, where I caught a male Abra named Karl-10. He became D-Dawg's new partner.
♦ I also went to Route 7, where my encounter was a female Vulpix, that I named Hotshot.
♦ However, while trying to train up Karl-10 on Route 16 using the switch-in-and-out method, a Doduo used Pursuit, causing him to faint. D-Dawg got her revenge.
♦ Went back to Route 6 and caught a male Poliwag named Poppilol, who became D-Dawg's new partner.
♦ Trained Poppilol up, evolving it twice, and then continued my adventure on Cycling Road.
♦ Caught a male Doduo there, named Triniwi.
♦ I used Speed Star and HeadnBldrs for the rest of the trainers, but Speed Star was unable to OHKO a Machamp, and fainted after it had used Revenge. HeadnBldrs finished it off, and was then paired with Triniwi.
♦ Trained it up to Lv 31, causing it to evolve.
♦ Once I was actually able to go through Cycling Road without any deaths, I arrived in Fuchsia City.
♦ Checked out the Safari Zone immediately. In the Center Area, my encounter was a female Rhyhorn, whom I named Banhammer. Area 1 gave me a female Exeggcute named Palmerina, and Area 2 gave me a male Goldeen named Golddigger. Lastly, Area 3 gave me a male Venonat, named Malila.
♦ Since I wasn't feeling too confident about taking Koga on immediately, I decided to train some more on the Routes 12-15, going in backwards order. I didn't bother in catching anything on Route 15 and 14, since I already had or used to have those Pokémon. Tortank evolved here, too.
♦ Before catching anything on Route 13, I went to Route 12 and obtained the Super Rod. In doing so, however, I engaged in a battle with a trainer who had a Voltorb. The Voltorb used Selfdestruct and got a critical hit, causing Qash Queen to faint. I decided to make Hotshot the new partner for Tortank.
♦ With the Super Rod, I caught a male Krabby on Route 13, named King Klo.
♦ Since Hotshot was rather weak, I decided to train her up by rematching some trainers on Route 15. This turned out to backfire though, since one trainer in particular used different spore/powder moves with her Bulbasaur and Ivysaur, and succeeded in getting critical hits with Razor Leaf. Hotshot was therefore done for, and Tortank had a close call himself.
♦ Palmerina became Tortank's new partner. I trained her up in Pokémon Tower, partly to invest in Sp. Atk EV's from Gastly, and also because Confusion was enough to OHKO them.
♦ It took a really long time to get her up to the rest of my Pokémon (they were all around Lv 40), but once I was done, I used Palmerina to catch the Snorlax on Route 12. Named him Snoozefest.
♦ Finally felt secure enough to tackle Koga, which D-Dawg and Poppilol had to do. It was really close, his Pokémon using SmokeScreen and poisoning with Sludge almost killed them both, but I came out victorious.
♦ Gave the Tea to the guard, and made my way into Saffron City. Went straight for the Fighting Dojo, where Tortank and Palmerina battled through to the end. I didn't pick up any of the Pokémon in the Dojo, because I thought it would count as my encounter for Saffron, and I'd rather have Lapras.
♦ Consequently, I raided the Silph Co. building, defeating my rival and Giovanni in the process. I also picked up the Lapras, which turned out to be female. I named her Vanessa.
♦ As it turned out, Lapras' place of encounter was Silph Co., and not Saffron. Therefore, I went back and picked up the Hitmonchan in the Dojo. It counted as my encounter for Saffron. It was male, and I named it Neko-Chan.
♦ Again, battling Sabrina was something I didn't feel too good about, so I decided to do some Surf stuff in the meantime.
♦ Firstly, I caught a female Slowpoke in Fuchsia City, named Cestry.
♦ Remembered that there was a Surf spot in Viridian City, but I already owned everything there. However, there is an in-game trade in which you trade away a Slowbro for a Lickitung, so I caught a new Slowpoke just for that sole reason. It was female, and I simply named it Trade.
♦ Went back to Route 10, where I caught a male Magikarp named Megakarp.
♦ Continued towards the Power Plant, caught a male Pikachu named Racie, defeated some Pokémon for EXP, collected some items and then made it out.
♦ Since there wasn't much left to do, I rebattled some trainers with Triniwi and HeadnBldrs. I also used an evo editor, allowing me to evolve HeadnBldrs into Golem.
♦ Challenged the gym with Triniwi and HeadnBldrs.
♦ They handled it really well, and was able to take down Sabrina fairly easily.
♦ Before Surfing to Cinnabar, I went to Route 19 from Fuchsia City. I encountered a male Tentacool that I named Chironex, and then battled the trainers on the Route.
♦ Eventually made it to Seafoam Islands, where I caught a male Seel named Taylor.
♦ Flew to Pallet Town and started surfing downwards on Route 21. My encounter for the area was a female Tangela named Vine.
♦ Battled the trainers and evolved Palmerina into Exeggutor, since it had learned SolarBeam at Lv 43.
♦ Eventually made it to Cinnabar, where I resurrected Omanyte from the fossil I picked up in Mt. Moon. It was female, and I named it Spinwave.
♦ Due to the gym being closed, I had to retrieve the key from the Pokémon Mansion. Since it would be good training for D-Dawg and Poppilol, I just barged right in and completely forgot that I could catch something there. Owing to this, I did not get an encounter here.
♦ What I did get, however, was a death - D-Dawg's Magnitude got a low roll, causing a wild Raticate to survive and then kill D-Dawg off. Poppilol got his revenge, and was then partnered with the female Slowpoke I was supposed to trade away. My encounter for Route 18 was therefore a Lickitung, but it turned out to be male (and called Marc), so I couldn't pair it wih Poppilol. I brought in Banhammer instead.
♦ Searched the mansion and found the key, which I then used to enter the gym. Poppilol had to do all of the work, since Banhammer was too weak. Blaine did not put up a fight, though.
♦ After the battle, Bill asked me to help him out on the islands. I traveled there, and caught a female Ponyta named Asha on Kindle Road. On Mt. Ember, I caught a male Magmar named Gunther.
♦ I was training up Banhammer along the way, but she took a turn for the worse when she was unable to flee from a Tentacool. It used BubbleBeam, which had fatal effects. Poppilol avenged her.
♦ I went back to the PokéCenter to find a new partner for Poppilol, but the PC services were down. Instead, I went to Cape Brink on Two Island, and caught a female Poliwhirl. I named it Trade, as another in-game trade requires your Poliwhirl for their Jynx.
♦ I delivered the Meteorite I had obtained from Bill to the guy on Two Island, and then went to Three Island to take care of the biker dudes.
♦ Said and done, and then I went looking for Lostelle in Berry Forest. I took down the Hypno, and then my quest on these islands were done for the time being.
♦ Took the ferry back to Cinnabar, where I obtained a Tri-Pass from Bill.
♦ Then, I paired Poppilol with Trade, and went to Cerulean to obtain the Jynx. It was nicknamed Zynx.
♦ Currently trying to train up Zynx before moving on.

I've been following Marriland's Black 2 Wedlocke, and I thought I'd do one or two myself.

Name: Mega Mawile
Games: Pearl, Zeta (fanmade game)
Ultimate?: Not today.
Any optional rules?:
I can not use healing items in battle.
The level of my Pokemon can not exceed the level of the next Gym Leader's strongest Pokemon.
Shiny Clause (Pearl only)
Items that alter IVs, Abilities, or Natures are banned. (Zeta only)

I'm doing Pearl first, then I'll do Zeta once I finish.

Final update for LeafGreen!

Spoiler:

♦ Trained up Zynx against Gastlys. When doing so, I encountered a shiny one! And then I killed it, because it's absolutely needless in this case.
♦ When training was done, I battled the trainers I had missed on Route 20.
♦ The only gym remaining was now the one in Viridian City. I went there, and battled all the trainers for a chunk of Exp.
♦ I used Tortank and Palmerina against Giovanni, who went down very easily. I acquired the badge as well as the Earthquake TM, and then made my way west, to the Pokémon League.
♦ When doing so, my rival challenged me to a battle. I used Triniwi and HeadnBldrs against him. He was quite difficult, but I managed to beat him.
♦ On Route 23 (the badge check gate), I encountered a female Mankey. Named her MonkeyKong.
♦ Victory Road was up ahead, and it proved to be somewhat of a hassle. One trainer in particular ended up killing both Triniwi and HeadnBldrs with his Cloyster. Palmerina had to finish the job.
♦ I exited immediately, in order to find a new pair.
♦ Eventually decided on Marc and the newly caught MonkeyKong. Since they were quite low-levelled, I had to train them up a lot before being able to continue. MonkeyKong evolved in the process.
♦ With my new pair, I entered Victory Road once again, and made it out safely this time.
♦ At the Pokémon Center, I healed up, bought new items, gave some items to my Pokémon and finalized their movesets before going in.

♦ First up was Lorelei, against whom I used Zynx and Poppilol. Or more accurately, only Zynx. She set up a few Calm Minds against Lorelei's Dewgong, and from there, I could sweep with Psychic and Ice Punch. The only Pokémon of hers to put up a fight was her own Jynx, who used Lovely Kiss and made Zynx fall asleep. The Poké Flute quickly awakened her though, allowing me to finish it off.

♦ Bruno was up next. I used Tortank and Palmerina for this battle. I could easily use Surf or Confusion on his Pokémon and make them faint fairly easily, but some Pokémon required a Sleep Powder/Leech Seed combo, Machamp being one of them. It managed to use Bulk Up once, making it pretty fatal with Cross Chop. After it was put to sleep and seeded, however, it went down fairly easily thanks to Confusion.

♦ In the third battle, against Agatha, I decided to try out the new pair - Marc and MonkeyKong. It turned out to work out very well in my favor. Her first Gengar was supposed to be an annoyer, with Toxic, Confuse Ray and Double Team. Despite all these moves, Marc was able to counter it. I had Shock Wave for Double Team and its ability Own Tempo prevented confusion. Poison was the only thing I couldn't fend off as easily. Her Golbat also went down to Shock Wave, although it dealt a lot of damage with its high crit ratio moves. Arbok was Earthquaked twice by MonkeyKong, and her Haunter couldn't touch her, either. Vital Spirit prevented sleep, so Dream Eater didn't work, either. I did have to switch in to Marc, who brought it down with a Flamethrower after it had used Curse once. Her other Gengar went down to Marc as well.

♦ Lance was somewhat tedious to take down. I used Tortank and Palmerina. Tortank VS Gyarados turned into a flinchfest, as I had to resort to using Bite due to the Intimidate. Palmerina took down his two Dragonair by using Leech Seed and Confusion, and then Tortank defeated Aerodactyl by using Surf. His Dragonair did go down to two Ice Beams, but it really packed a punch with Outrage, causing me to heal often.

♦ Lastly, the Champion, my rival. Again, I used Tortank and Palmerina for this battle. His Pidgeot was easily brought down by Tortank's Ice Beams, and then he wanted to send out Venusaur. Palmerina had to handle it, using Sleep Powder and Confusion. It was fairly annoying though, waking up and using Sunny Day + Synthesis. It eventually went down, though. Gyarados was his next Pokémon, and I decided to stay in, in order to take advantage of the sun and use SolarBeam without having to charge it up. This, however, failed, as the sun faded just on that turn. I still used SolarBeam against it, and when it was at red health my rival tried something very smart; he predicted another SolarBeam, switching into his Arcanine, basically hoping for a free Flamethrower right to the face. On the contrary, I used Confusion, causing his plan to fail. I switched out to Tortank, who killed it off easily. Next up was Alakazam. I tried leaving Tortank in, but his attacks weren't doing enough to it. Owing to this, I switched out into Palmerina, hoping to pull off the usual strategy. It worked out in a rather good manner. I did receive one Sp. Def drop from Alakazam's Psychic, and when he wanted to send out his Gyarados again, I didn't wanna risk dying due to Bite or something. Therefore, I switched out into Blastoise. Gyarados could only use Dragon Rage and Thrash, attacks that Tortank completely walled, but I couldn't deal much damage myself. It eventually went down, and the last Pokémon - Rhydon - fainted instantly to a Surf. Thereby, I was crowned the Champion!

Cool, you've been added. Now for my business here!

Heart Gold Wedlocke - Update #3

Spoiler:
Alright, so let's start with the encounters I obtained.

Ecruteak City - A male Poliwag named Rainstick.
Ruins of Alph - A female Quagsire named Marimba.
Slowpoke Well - A male Slowpoke named Panflute.

I scaled the Lighthouse and found Jasmine, then got Steelpan to evolve into Graveler and then traded her to evolve into Golem. I also got the Eevee from Bill, which was female (!!) and named her Clavinet.

Mt. Mortar - A male Machop named Drums. Then I made it into Mahogany Town.
Route 43 - A female Mareep named Guitar.
Lake of Rage - I caught the Red Gyarados, which was male, and named him Keyboard.

I then traded the Red Scale to Mr. Pokémon and got the Exp. Share for it.

Cherrygrove City - A female Hoothoot named Piccolo.
Route 40 - A female Tentacool named Saxophone.
Olivine City - A male Corsola named Fiddle.

Then I went through the Team Rocket HQ, which was no problem at all. I also caught a female Koffing there named Melodica. Then I went to Cianwood City, where I got a female Krabby named Clapper, and beat Eusine without much trouble.

Chuck, on the other hand, was a massacre. His Primeape used Double Team to the max and killed Trombone, but not without doing over half with a critical hit Shadow Claw, then Horn killed it. And because of his Poliwrath's stupid Sitrus Berry, he killed Horn with a critical hit Body Slam right before I would have finished it off, then he healed and Handbell died on the same point, but not without me paralyzing him. Steelpan got in some Magnitude, but I barely finished him with Accordion after he was fully paralyzed.

So I chose Marimba the Quagsire and Maracas the Pineco, and Tuba the Drowzee and Saxophone the Tentacool as my replacements. Jasmine was no problem at all for Bagpipes with Choice Specs Flamethrower.

I went to Route 47, where my encounter was a female Seel named Sousaphone. At the Cliff Cave I got five duplicates, so nothing there. For Route 48, I got a Farfetch'd, which I passed up catching because it refused to be caught and used Swords Dance, which was scary. At the Safari Zone Gate, I caught a female Exeggcute named Piano.

At the Safari Zone, all I got was a male Lickitung named Mandolin. Then when I got to training, Maracas and Tuba evolved into Forretress and Hypno respectively, but Saxophone died to a critical hit from a WILD GOLDEEN of all things, from Flail at 30% after I was hit with confusion damage and around half. That frustrated me to the maximum.

So I chose Piccolo the Hoothoot as her replacement, and slapped Fly on her right away. I got her to evolve into Noctowl with the Exp. Share, and then took on the Mahogany Gym. Pryce required some strategy. Seel wasn't too bad, Piloswine I had to get crafty against and use Maracas' Light Screen, but after putting him to sleep I killed him with a critical hit Surf from Marimba. Dewgong, however, was so tedious, it took me 14 minutes to kill because I didn't know he had Rest and Sleep Talk. But I had Rest, so I was able to barely beat him to the punch with some luck. If I tried to type out the battle, i'd be here all day. But it worked.

Then I got word that Team Rocket has invaded the Radio Tower, which i'll take care of later.

So here's my team:

First update on Gold:

♦ Started up the game and named myself Chevi.
♦ Chose my starter and encounter for New Bark Town, a male Chikorita, that I called Baeleaf.
♦ Went to Mr. Pokémon's house and back, obtaining some Poké Balls from Prof. Elm's aide.
♦ On Route 29, I encountered a female Hoothoot. Caught it and named it Clock-La. Paired her with Baeleaf.
♦ On Route 30, my encounter was a male Rattata. I called it Rat Pack.
♦ Route 31 offered me a female Spinarak, which I named Contessa. She was paired with Rat Pack.
♦ Decided to catch something in Dark Cave while I was near it. It turned out to be a female Geodude, named Roche.
♦ In Sprout Tower, I encountered a male Gastly that I named Shadus. He made up the final pair, along with Roche.
♦ Beat the Elder in the tower, and then challenged the gym.
♦ Thanks to Roche's Rock Throw and Shadus' typing, Falkner was a piece of cake.
♦ Picked up the Egg from Elm's assistant, and then continued to Route 32, where I caught a male Hoppip named Zey-J.
♦ Ventured downwards, and made it to the Union Cave. Encountered a female Zubat, whom I named Bat Gal.
♦ Made it out of the cave onto Route 33, where I caught a Spearow named Rowena.
♦ In Azalea Town, Kurt informed me of Team Rocket being in the Slowpoke Well.
♦ Went there to defeat them, and also caught a male Slowpoke. Named it Caesar.
♦ Got rid of Team Rocket, and then challenged the gym. Again, Roche and Shadus did all the work against Bugsy. However, she was extremely close to finishing Roche off with Fury Cutter, since I had missed a Rock Throw. I was able to take it out though, and then Shadus took care of the remaining Pokémon.
♦ I also used this duo against my rival outside the gate to Ilex Forest, but Roche swept him on her own.
♦ In Ilex Forest, my encounter was a male Caterpie. Named it De×Andre.
♦ Trekked through the forest, and ended up on Route 34. Sadly, I didn't get an encounter there, as it was an Abra that used Teleport after I had failed to catch it.
♦ Decided to challenge the Goldenrod Gym, which proved to be both fortunate and misfortunate. Baeleaf evolved in there, but Clock-La also died due to a crit, forcing Baeleaf to avenge her. I chose Bat Gal as his new partner.
♦ Rat Pack also died in there. Contessa fought on her own, and was then paired with Caesar.
♦ Trained these two new members up before continuing, partly in Ilex Forest, but also Underground.
♦ Once again, I used Roche and Shadus against Whitney. I took out Clefairy with Roche, and then used Shadus with Hypnosis and Curse against Miltank. Roche then handled the rest, as I didn't wanna die due to Rollout.
♦ Went north to Route 35, where Contessa died against a Marill. Poison Sting just wasn't doing enough damage. Caesar finished the battle, and was then paired with Rowena.
♦ My encounter on Route 35 was a Nidoran♂, whom I caught and named Knug XVI.
♦ The Bug Catching Contest was on during the same day, so I decided to try it. My encounter was a male Kakuna, that I named Acuecoon.
♦ Decided to train my team up to Lv 20. Upon doing so, Rowena evolved. I then stopped my adventure for now.

Uh, I think you mean Gold, haha. :P Anyway, let's get to my business here.

Heart Gold Wedlocke - Update #4

Spoiler:
So I went through the Radio Tower. The grunts were a joke because Bagpipes and Accordion handled nearly all of them, but I had to use Marimba and Maracas against Petrel and his team of bombs, the former of who was able to OHKO the Koffing with Mystic Water boosted Surf, but I did have to do some juggling a bit.

Then after training everyone to Level 34, I battled Silver in the Goldenrod Tunnel. He was pretty easy except for his Feraligatr, which wasn't that hard either because his attacks were weak. Going through the tunnel, I beat all the grunts, and on the last one Bagpipes reached Level 36 and evolved into Typhlosion.

I also trained Marimba to Level 36 so she could learn Earthquake. After breezing through a few more Executives in the Radio Tower, I had Marimba beat Archer's Houndour and Houndoom with Earthquake, while Maracas beat the Koffing.

Afterward I went to Route 44, where I caught a Weepinbell named Didgeridoo, then the Ice Path where I got a Swinub named Bass. Once I made it to Blackthorn City, I FINALLY got rid of the HMs that Accordion was littered with, then went down to Route 45. I beat the trainers there with ease and caught an Aipom named Keytar. While backtracking I went to the Safari Zone to catch a Sandshrew solely to show the Owner, but I released it immediately afterward. Then I caught a Mantine on Route 41 named Clavichord and a Tentacruel in the Whirl Islands named Sax II.

I trained my entire team to Level 41, then took on Clair's Gym. I used Piccolo and Tuba against her. Gyarados kept using Bite against Piccolo, but I killed her with two Air Slashes, a Hyper Potion and a Hyper Beam. The first Dragonair kept using Slam on Tuba, and I used Rest a few times but I eventually killed it. The second Dragonair I 2HKO'd with Piccolo's Air Slash and Hyper Beam after putting it to sleep. But then, Kingdra happened. I used Light Screen with Tuba, and as I was using Rest, she then KILLED BOTH TUBA AND PICCOLO WITH TWO CRITICAL HIT HYDRO PUMPS IN A ROW. I think that text and size tells you how infuriated I was. Anyway, I got Marimba to waste her last Hydro Pump, then I had to use Maracas to stall her out a bit, and I kept hitting through repeated SmokeScreens with Bug Bite. And she got ANOTHER critical hit Hyper Beam against Maracas when she was almost gone, but I survived with 11 HP, and just to taunt me even harder, I got the critical hit on the last turn that didn't matter.

So I went to the Dragon's Den, passed the test of the Elder and got the Dratini, which I named Ukulele. I then chose Organ the Gastly and Bass the Swinub as my new pair.

After getting the Master Ball from Elm, I took on the Kimono Girls, who, to be honest, were a joke. Maracas had little to no trouble with Espeon, especially after Marimba yawned it to sleep, although Umbreon was slightly annoying with Confuse Ray but I still 2HKO'd it with Bug Bite. Marimba took care of the other three with no problem.

Then I trained my main four (not my new recruits) to Level 43 and took on Ho-Oh, who only used Sacred Fire followed by Extrasensory, and I had Yawned it again and 2HKO'd it with Waterfall. That was that.

So here's my team:

Oh yeah sorry, thanks :) So I decided to play some more yesterday and today, but a part of me wishes I hadn't... so many deaths.

♦ On Route 36 I caught a Nidoran♀, whom I named Bluebeary. And on Route 37, I encountered a female Stantler that I caught and named Dialle.
♦ Made it to Ecruteak and went to the Burnt Tower, where Roche swept my rival. I then caught a male Koffing, named Choaking.
♦ Defeated the gym trainers, and then challenged Morty, using Bat Gal and Baeleaf. Bat Gal had now evolved into Golbat, and worked wonders with Bite. Against Gengar, I used Baeleaf to set up Reflect, but it kept on using Hypnosis. Therefore, once I could switch out into Bat Gal to attack, its effect wore off. I won, though.
♦ Went up against the Kimono Girls, brought them all down and received Surf. Taught it to Caesar, and then started going west.
♦ On Route 38, I encounered a Miltank, but I was unable to catch it due to poisoning taking it out. I encountered another one on Route 39 though, that I was able to capture. Named it Milkshake.
♦ Once in Olivine City, I climbed to the top of the Lighthouse, and then I picked up the Good Rod. Then, I backtracked to get some new encounters. In Violet City, I surfed and encountered a female Poliwag that I caught and named Aina. Cherrygrove offered me a female Tentacool, called Chironex. In Ecruteak, my encounter was a female Magikarp, named Jasmine. I got myself a female Krabby named Cookie in Olivine City.
♦ Backtracked some more to Headbutt some trees. On Route 42, I got a female Heracross named Tekeze, and in Azalea Town I encountered a female Exeggcute named Chanel.
♦ Continued on Route 40, where I fished up a female Corsola. Called it Coraline.
♦ This is where things started to go downhill. Firstly, a swimmer's Shellder was able to take out Rowena. Caesar finished it off, and was then partnered with Bluebeary, whom I trained before continuing.
♦ On Route 41, I encountered a Mantine, but it died to poison.
♦ Further down the Route, a trainer's Gyarados was way too strong for Bat Gal, who fainted. Baeleaf avenged her, and was then partnered with Dialle.
♦ Dialle, however, died as I was training her. A wild Tentacruel poisoned her, and then I was unable to flee from it. Chironex became Baeleaf's new partner.
♦ Another swimmer's Horsea knew Dragon Rage, which was a serious threat to Caesar. He fainted, and Bluebeary killed it off. She was then partnered with Zey-J.
♦ Trained Zey-J up and then challenged the gym trainers with him and Bluebeary, but I battled Chuck with Baeleaf and Chironex. Reflect helped a lot, as well as poison and confusion. I earned the badge.
♦ Obtained the Fly HM outside the gym, but as I had no flyers, I simply had to Surf back to Olivine.
♦ Before taking on the gym in Olivine, I wanted to do some more training. Due to this, I went to Union Cave, where the first trainer managed to kill half my team. Roche and Shadus were first up against his Marowak, whose Bone Club completely annihilated both of them. I then sent out Chironex, blatantly disregarding the fact that she's half Poison-type and just thinking "A water move would take this thing out". She did take out his first Marowak, but he had a second one, who killed her easily. Baeleaf could handle it well, though.
♦ I partnered Baeleaf with Jasmine, and decided on a new pairing of Choaking and Tekeze.
♦ Currently about to train my new members up.

Third update for my Gold Wedlocke:

♦ Trained my team members up to be around the same level as the rest of my members.
♦ Forgot to get the SecretPotion back in Cianwood, so I went to get that.
♦ Gave it to Jasmine and decided to hold off on battling her for now, so I went west towards Mahogany instead.
♦ On Route 43, I found a male Flaaffy that I named Woolec. Used Headbutt on some of the trees at Lake of Rage, and out popped a Pineco, but it killed itself.
♦ Took on the shiny Gyarados, who managed to kill Baeleaf with Dragon Rage when he was at 39 HP. Jasmine finished it off, and was then partnered with Woolec.
♦ Woolec, however, died almost instantly as it died to a wild Seaking after being unable to flee from it. I partnered Jasmine with Knug XVI, whom I could train up without any problems.
♦ Went to raid the Rocket Hideout with Lance's help. I earned the Whirlpool HM as a reward.
♦ Then, I took on the Mahogany gym, using Jasmine and Knug XVI against Pryce.
♦ After having won, I believe I took on Jasmine, using the same pairing and winning quite easily.
♦ I then raided Team Rocket in Goldenrod. Sadly, one of the executives managed to take out my second pairing. His Weezing used Selfdestruct against Bluebeary, and Zey-J, being a Grass-type, did not fare well against all of his Poison-types.
♦ For my new pairing, I decided on Milkshake, and to hopefully hatch a male Togepi. I walked around with it a lot, and trained up my team members in the meantime. I also got the PokéRus while doing this! Once it hatched, I trained some more to increase its happiness.
♦ Then I realized that the egg had hatched on a route where I had already caught something. Luckily, I hadn't used my Togepi (male and named Starlight) in battle, so I just boxed it. Milkshake's partner the Eevee Bill gives you in Goldenrod, so that was my encounter there. It was male, and I named it Esphynx.
♦ Walked around with it to increase its happiness, and then it evolved into Espeon. Trained him up as well.
♦ Took care of the rest of the Goldenrod business, and then returned to Mahogany.
♦ On Route 44, I encountered a Weepinbel whom I got a critical hit on while trying to weaken it, resulting in me killing it.
♦ In the Ice Path, I caught a female Swinub and named it Mamo.
♦ I then remembered I hadn't caught anything at the Ruins of Alph, so I went through the Union Cave, and then caught a female Natu at my destination. I called it Natix.
♦ Went back to the Ice Path and made it to Blackthorn City.
♦ Took on Clair using Milkshake and Esphynx, who did a very great job despite her Kingdra being quite scary.
♦ Went to the Dragon's Den to get my badge, and also encountered a female Dratini there. I caught it and named it Dracolosse.
♦ Picked up the Dragon Fang and got the badge.
♦ Went down to Route 46, where I encountered a Gligar that died due to poisoning.
♦ On Route 45, I caught a female Jigglypuff named Bubblegum.
♦ I could then make my way to the Pokémon League. In Tohjo Falls, I caught a female Goldeen named Golddigger.
♦ On Route 27, I encountered a Quagsire, but it fled...
♦ Against a trainer on the same route, Jasmine died. He had a Magneton whom I was unable to OHKO. Knug XVI finished the job, and was then partnered with Golddigger.
♦ Trained it up and then continued.
♦ Route 26 offered me a male Doduo, whom I caught and named Guava.
♦ In Victory Road, I caught a female Ursaring named Junbi. I also battled my rival using Knug XVI and Golddigger.
♦ Before taking on the Pokémon League, I trained my team up to Lv 43, and taught them some moves.
♦ I used Milkshake and Esphynx against Will and Koga, and then Bruno was handled by Choaking and Tekeze. The latter one made great use of Counter, for once!
♦ Karen was handled by Knug XVI and Golddigger, although her Houndoom managed to take out Golddigger after a Sp. Def drop from Crunch. Knug XVI could finish it off easily, though.
♦ Finally, Lance was handled by Esphynx and Milkshake. He was pretty difficult, and was very close to finishing off both my Pokémon at some points. However, I prevailed in the end.
♦ Partnered Knug XVI with Dracolosse, and will be going to Kanto shortly!

Congrats on getting through Johto! As I said, you only have to get through Kanto for me to declare the challenge complete. Hope that all works out! Anyway, let's take care of my end.

Heart Gold Wedlocke - Update #5

Spoiler:
With Johto coming to an end, I headed back to New Bark Town to Route 27. I used Repels throughout there, Tohjo Falls and Route 26 so I could come back in the post-game and try for something more interesting. However, Accordion died against an Ace Trainer with a Golduck that lowered her Special Defense with Psychic, then Vaporeon killed her with a critical hit Surf. When I went back to Cherrygrove, I replaced her with Guitar the Mareep.

In Victory Road, I ran into a Golbat and four Graveler, so I whiffed my encounter there. Silver was no problem for Marimba and Maracas. After that, I trained up tons using Pokégear rematches, getting myself to 999999P and getting my entire team to Level 48. I did a bit of training off of Miltank on Route 47, too.

Once we were back at the league, it was time to roll.

Will was a joke; beat him in five turns with Guitar and Bagpipes.

Koga wasn't too bad. Organ OHKO'ed his Ariados with a critical hit, Venomoth was OHKO'ed by Bass' Earthquake, Crobat was 2HKO'ed by Ice Fang followed by Ice Shard, Forretress was 2HKO'ed by Organ's Thunderbolt, and Muk was slammed by Bass' Earthquake.

Bruno was just sad. I used Substitute against Hitmontop, who for god knows what reason used Dig TWICE and was 2HKO'ed. Hitmonlee tried to use Swagger while I had a Substitute up. Hitmonchan broke my sub with Fire Punch. Onix I OHKO'ed with Bass' Earthquake, but not without me setting up Reflect. Machamp I put to sleep with Organ's Hypnosis, then set up a Substitute and killed him with a critical hit Shadow Ball.

Karen, however, was definitely more intense. Umbreon took less than half from Maracas' Bug Bite, and she was annoying with Confuse Ray and Double Team, then she switched out to Houndoom. I brought in Marimba, who thankfully survived Flamethrower then Dark Pulse and killed her with Earthquake. Vileplume kept using Petal Dance against Maracas, and I used a turn to heal Marimba with a MooMoo Milk. Bug Bite followed by two Paybacks finished her. Gengar was dangerous - Marimba's Waterfall did less than half, and I Yawned her to sleep but got her to use her Full Restore, followed by a critical hit that almost killed her. I used Yawn on her Focus Blast, and she used Destiny Bond but I predicted that and used Earthquake to trigger Levitate. Then she died. Murkrow Whirlwinded me into Guitar, who killed her with Thunderbolt. Bagpipes finished Umbreon with Blast Burn.

Finally, the Champion, Lance. Gyarados and Charizard were easy OHKOs with Organ's Choice Specs Thunderbolt, and Aerodactyl did less than half to Bass with Rock Slide as Ice Shard was a 2HKO. His Level 50 Dragonite I OHKO'ed with Ice Fang...but his Level 49 Dragonites were faster and I ended up losing both Bass and Organ to his last one, but not without Organ doing over half with Choice Specs Shadow Ball. I had Maracas set up Reflect, and Marimba survived a Hyper Beam and missed Blizzard twice in a row, but he missed Blizzard too, and luckily I hit with one more and killed him for the win.

Here was my final team for Johto:

I'll try to update the OP in a little bit, ugh it's been a while since I got to that.

Chevitile July 27th, 2014 3:45 AM

Thank you! For the final update of Gold, I honestly haven't got much to say. I trained up everyone to Lv 50 before going to Kanto, and once there, I just started beating gyms left and right. Lt. Surge was swept by Knug XVI, Esphynx took care of Janine, Choaking brought down Erika, Brock required some teamwork from Esphynx and Milkshake, and Knug XVI swept Blaine. I held off on battling Misty and Sabrina, as I thought they would be the most troublesome. Esphynx and Milkshake teamed up for Misty, and then Milkshake could solo Sabrina. Last up was Blue, against whom Knug XVI and Dracolosse battled for the victory, despite being tough. I'm surprised I managed to get through Kanto without any deaths! I did catch a bunch of stuff on the routes, so here's a list of those encounters:

Spoiler:

Route 6: Pidgey (F), named Geypsy
Route 5: An Abra, that I failed to catch.
Route 11: I encountered a Drowzee here, but I somehow forgot that I could catch it, so I just ran away from it.
Vermilion City: Shellder (M), named Clampagne
Route 18: Grimer (M), named Zukram
Route 8: Another Abra that I failed to catch.
Rock Tunnel: Cubone (F), named Stickone
On routes 13, 14 and 15, I had already encountered everything (except for Chansey), so I didn't catch anything on those routes.
Route 9: Mankey (F), named Ms. Piggy
Route 10: Electabuzz (F), named Electra
Diglett's Cave: Dugtrio (F), named Major Brs
Pallet Town: A Chinchou that I accidentally killed.
Route 21: A Tangela, but it fled.
Cinnabar Island: Chinchou (F), named Marina
On routes 19 and 21 I had already encountered everything too, so no eligible encounters there.

For the rest of the routes, I simply didn't bother encountering anything.

I do want to challenge Red, but as it will take a long time to train up my team, I'm holding off on that for the moment, and focusing on my next game, Sapphire. I've already played a little bit, but I'm only one badge in.

Heart Gold Wedlocke Challenge - Update #6

Spoiler:
After making it through the Elite Four and Champion, I decided on my replacement pair to be Triangle the NidoranF and Panflute the Slowpoke. I went into Kanto and took on the Gym Leaders. In order:

Lt. Surge was taken care of easily with Marimba. I had the Zoom Lens to anticipate Double Team, which worked pretty well. His Electrodes never went boom, so it was nothing.

Janine was no sweat, the only Pokémon that had me concerned at all was Weezing, which only used Toxic against Guitar, which my Lum Berry cured. Everything else of hers was easy.

Between Janine and Brock, I finally put in an effort to train up my new pair, and evolved Panflute into a Slowking.

Brock I took care of easily with Panflute and Triangle, the latter of whom had the Choice Specs. Graveler and Kabutops did deal moderate hits, but nothing bad.

Erika was slightly dicey because Jumpluff was faster than Bagpipes and used Sunny Day, but Guitar used Signal Beam on Tangela and I had Protect on Bagpipes to stall out Sunny Day, which worked. Bellossom succumbed to a Charcoal boosted Blast Burn.

Misty I took care of mostly with Guitar, except for Quagsire - I gave Bagpipes the Power Herb and SolarBeam for that. She did try to annoy me with her Full Restores on Lapras, but I confused her with Signal Beam for kicks.

Sabrina I took on single-handedly with Maracas and Light Screen. Not much to say there.

Blaine's Magcargo was no sweat, but Magmar I had to get in a bit of strategy for. I went to Panflute as he used Sunny Day, then Yawned him after taking just over 1/3 from Overheat, healed and took another hit. I switched in Triangle, and he stayed asleep and OHKO'ed him with Choice Specs Earth Power. Rapidash was slammed by Panflute's (Mystic Water boosted) Surf, even with Bounce paralyzing him.

Blue was...well, not what I expected. Triangle OHKO'ed Exeggutor with a critical hit Choice Specs Sludge Bomb, the critical hit did NOT matter. Gyarados was hit with a critical hit Psychic from Panflute, and he healed then I used Yawn. I got Triangle in on Dragon Dance and OHKO'ed him with Thunderbolt while he snoozed. Rhydon missed Panflute with Megahorn and was also slammed. Machamp did around half with ThunderPunch, and survived a Psychic, but he healed. Then he only used Stone Edge before dying. Arcanine left Panflute with 9 HP with Flare Blitz (I had Leftovers) before dying to Surf. Pidgeot did less than half to Triangle with Return, then Thunderbolt did well over half and paralyzed him. Then he was 2HKO'ed. Oh man...

Then I got Rock Climb and access to Mt. Silver, but I have NO idea what i'm gonna do against Red's Snorlax.

Team:

RIP:
Spoiler:
No changes since last part.

That will declare Heart Gold complete for me, although I do plan to take on Red. When, however, I don't know.

AoTora September 27th, 2014 9:46 AM

I failed my Volt White 2 Wedlocke at Cheren but I didn't give up- Instead I decided to do one on White 2 - and did the whole after game aswell+rematching elite 4 and champion.

Here is the first round that didn't go all that well:

Those videos aren't working, i'll have to be verified on the amount of deaths you had before I can count it.

Also, for my own Heart Gold Wedlocke, I beat Red back late in August, but I didn't post it because I couldn't from the double post rule, but I will now.

Heart Gold Wedlocke, Update #7 - Final Update

Spoiler:
After defeating Blue, I went to Cerulean Cave and did some stuff there, then to Route 28 and Mt. Silver. Afterwards, I found all the remaining Rare Candies in the game. I did a lot of training off of Pokégear rematches, especially Hiker Kenny on Route 13, who gave 7k EXP per fight. I got my entire team to Level 78, using the majority of Rare Candies on Maracas since I figured he would be the hardest to train given he's not very strong and his attacks don't provide much coverage.

Once all my preparations were done (also, I never want to go Rock Smashing for Heart Scales in Johto ever again), it was time to scale Mt. Silver and take on Red. I began with Triangle and Panflute.

Pikachu was first up. Iron Tail did less than half, but I OHKO'ed him with Earth Power.

Lapras was afterwards. His Body Slam didn't do much, but my Grass Knot did enough for a 2HKO thanks to the Expert Belt.

But then he went to Venusaur, which was terrible. I had to go to Triangle, who, surprisingly, was faster than him and got in Captivate to cut his Special Attack. Long story short, I ended up using all three of my healing items for these two on her, but I got in Stealth Rock, along with a Special Defense drop from Earth Power and was left below half after Frenzy Plant, allowing me to kill him while he had to recharge.

Lapras came out again, and he healed after taking Stealth Rock damage. But Grass Knot was a 2HKO, once again hardly taking anything from Body Slam.

Snorlax was next, and took SR damage before taking a nice chunk from Triangle's Superpower. Unfortunately, both of them died. I had Maracas set up Toxic Spikes, then he missed with Giga Impact - which, ironically, I didn't want to happen, because then he would have had to recharge and been unable to heal again. But he healed, and Bug Bite actually didn't do too bad. He froze me with Blizzard though, but I healed and then got in Light Screen, and then a few more hits finished him off.

Charizard took half his health from Stealth Rock, used Flare Blitz against Marimba for some reason and then died to Waterfall.

Blastoise was the last one up. He got badly poisoned from Toxic Spikes, and right off the bat froze me again. After another turn of being frozen, I healed, and took one more Blizzard following that and he was low enough to the point where Earthquake would kill him after all those rounds of Toxic damage, and hail. That won me the battle, and thus, the challenge.

Here was my final team:

Also, I might be changing my Hoenn game to Emerald, I have copies of all three games (Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald) with me, but sadly my Emerald version has its internal battery run dry. If I had a good Emerald ROM for a MacBook I think I would use that, but alas, I don't. I haven't decided yet, though.

Hey, everyone. I haven't started any new challenges here yet, but I wanted to point out that with the release of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, there are a few ways some might interpret the ending of the game - first you take on the Champion, Steven, but then there are the credits and you battle Brendan/May, but they have much lower level Pokémon than the Champion and they don't give EXP. But after that, there's the Delta Episode, which you are thrown into the next time you pick up your game. Some people will choose to do that for their plays to make it a tad longer, and I probably will when I inevitably have my turn here.

So i'll have to decide on how i'll measure that. Anyway, please continue to enjoy this challenge!

Chevitile December 23rd, 2014 9:49 AM

Finally, I'm able to get back into this! I'll start with an update on my Sapphire Wedlocke, which I actually finished this summer - just haven't had time to update. As such, I've forgotten nearly everything, and I just have my notes to help me.

Spoiler:

I started up the game and chose Torchic as my starter, whom I named Iggy. Her partner became a Lotad from Route 102, named Nack. I encountered a Poochyena on Route 103, but it got critted. My next pairing was a male Zigzagoon from Route 104 (named Cooper), and a female Wurmple (Vacuum) from Petalburg Woods. Their relationship didn't last long, though, since the Aqua Grunt's Poochyena took out Cooper. After having reached Petalburg, I caught a male Whismur named Boombox, on Route 116. Vacuum and Boombox became a new pairing. I took on the gym as well, where Nack took care of Roxanne, though it was a close call. I sailed to Dewford Town after some other events. Granite Cave granted me a male Zubat, named Snipe. I found Steven, and then Vacuum soloed Brawly with Gust. I continued my adventure to Slateport City. On Route 110 I caught Snipe's partner, a female Electrike, named Heart. I raided the museum, and then made my way to Mauville, where Boombox and Vacuum took care of the rival battle. They also attempted to defeat Wattson, but a Selfdestruct from Voltorb took out Boombox. And, well, a Beautifly against a team of electric-types isn't a good matchup, so it went down as well. Iggy had to finish the battle. On Route 117, I caught an Illumise, named Lovebug. Route 111 gave me a female Geodude, named 101. I got a male Machop at Route 112, and named it Dolly. However, it was a bittersweet catch - due to many Leers, it was able to KO Heart. 101 replaced it as Snipe's partner. There actually weren't a lot of other deaths up until Fortree, so I'll semi-skip forward. I'll post my encounters in a spoiler:
Spoiler:

Fiery Path: Grimer/Zukram (male)
Route 113: Spinda/Pandora (female)
Route 114: Seviper/VIP (female)
Jagged Pass: Numel/Vulkan (female)
Route 105: Tentacool/Chironex (male)
Route 106: Wingull/Pelicapo (male)
Route 109: Magikarp/Dragar (female)
Petalburg City: Marill, accidentally killed
Route 119: Tropius/Tropicana (male)
Route 120: Oddish/Reissum (male)
Route 121: Shuppet/Bottle (male)
Mt. Pyre: Meditite/Magika (female)
Shoal Cave: Spheal/Clapperz (male)
Underwater: Clamperl/Aragvi (male
Cave of Origin: Sableye/Gemini (male)
Rustboro City: Anorith/Kapten Klo (male)

So, on Mt. Chimney, 101 took down Archie, who still put up a fight. Flannery was swept by 101, and Norman saw the wrath of my newly-evolved Dolly. Winona required a team effort from 101 and Snipe, who were just barely capable of earning the badge. I had forgotten about Skarmory and Altaria, who came to be major threats. Eventually, it worked out, without any deaths. After Fortree, however, Lovebug died to a crit Water Pulse in the rain from Milotic. Dolly's new partner became Pandora (Spinda). This duo took care of Tate & Liza, as well as Archie and Wallace. With 8 badges, I went to Victory Road, where a surprise from Wally came. I used Iggy and Nack against him, and once again, I forgot about Altaria, who knocked them both out. This made me pretty sad, seeing as Iggy and Nack were the very first pairing of this run, and had survived this far :( They were replaced with Clapperz (Spheal) and Magika (Meditite). With my team ready, I faced the Elite Four. Dolly and Pandora took down Sidney, while Phoebe was defeated by 101 and Snipe. Glacia was swept by Dolly. Drake was soloed by Clapperz, while Steven required both Clapperz and Magika to be beaten.

First off, I realized I hadn't added the screens from my Hoenn adventure. They're here:

Secondly, I've started off my Sinnoh leg (on Diamond) of this challenge.

Spoiler:

♦ I began by naming my character Chevi, and picking my starter, Tweegi the female Turtwig. Her partner became Trinidad the Shinx, from Route 202. Route 201 offered a male Bidoof, named D.I.B., who paired up nicely with Courtney the Starly from Route 203.
♦ Before catching Starly, I trained everyone up to Lv 10, to be ready for the rival battle. As Trinidad and Tweegi were the only pairing, they took care of Barry.
♦ On the same route, D.I.B. went down from a Kricketot's Bide. Courtney avenged him, and was then paired with Tectonix the male Onix from Oreburgh Mine. Oreburgh Gate's female Geodude, named Broxette, was paired with Route 207's male Machop, Chipchop.
♦ Having explored the mine, I faced Roark, using solely Tweegi to obliterate him.
♦ Continuing on, I defeated the Galactic Grunts in Jubilife and then caught Rosaire, the female Budew, on Route 204. Aaron the male Zubat was found in Ravaged Path.
♦ I reached Floaroma, and then messed in Team Galactic's affairs. After having retreived the key for the HQ, I defeated Mars using Chipchop and Broxette. Just outside I caught a male Pachirisu, named Tucker.
♦ I trekked through Route 205 and Eterna Forest, that offered me a male Shellos named Slimesmile, and a male Buneary named Cappuccino, respectively. I also decided to see what I could come across in a honey tree, so my encounter for the Floaroma Meadow was a female Silcoon, named Violetta.
♦ I caught a female Ponyta named Vita Coco on Route 211, and then Courtney swept Gardenia without much trouble. The badge allowed me to use Cut, so I went to the Old Chateau and encountered a female Gastly. Sadly, it used Curse, causing me to KO it with my attack.
♦ Broxette and Chipchop must have it in them to take care of Team Galactic, because they defeated Jupiter as well. Continuing, I found a female Stunky on Route 206 named Stella, and Route 208 gave me a female Psyduck named Psykokwak. I didn't capture anything in Mt. Coronet, because I only encountered Pokémon I already owned.
♦ On Route 208, Aroma Lady Hannah's Roselia was being particularly obnoxious with Stun Spore, Mega Drain, Leech Seed and crits, provoking the deaths of Broxette and Chipchop. They were replaced by Stella and Slimesmile.
♦ I trained my new pairing up to be on par with the rest. Doing so, I encountered a female Cleffa in Mt. Coronet, that I caught and named Chloe. Afterwards, I continued to Hearthome City.
♦ Facing my rival, I used Courtney and Tectonix. I kept going on my adventure, and caught a female Chansey on Route 209 named LuckrPunch. The Lost Tower presented me with a new opportunity to catch a Gastly, which I did. It was female, and I called it Needles.
♦ Following a quick stop in Solaceon Town, I continued on my way. On Route 210, I faced a Kricketune, but I fled from it out of fear of it killing Stella (it used Bide). Route 215 gave me a male Abra, named Houdini.
♦ Once I reached Veilstone City, I went to the gym and used Trinidad and Tweegi. Tweegi evolved into a Torterra, allowing a nice sweep against Maylene. Then, I teamed up with Dawn to tackle some Galactic Grunts.
♦ On Route 214, I literally forgot I was playing a Wedlocke (I believe it had been some time since I had played after defeating the grunts), so catching the first encounter didn't cross my mind. Therefore, I got nothing.
♦ At Valor Lakefront, something similar happened - I faced a Girafarig, and I misclicked "Run" instead of "Pokémon". Shame, because Girafarig's a Pokémon that I really like.
♦ A male Buizel popped out on Route 213, that I caught and named Prince, and I also caught a male Wooper named Teracua in the Great Marsh.
♦ I then took on the gym, where Tweegi and Trinidad worked their magic against Crasher Wake, earning me the victory.
♦ Just as I had started chasing the bomb grunt, Barry challenged me to a battle. Once again, Tectonix and Courtney took him down. I finished the mission of defeating the bomb grunt, and then Cynthia rewarded me with the SecretPotion.
♦ I decided to go through Route 212 first, where I encountered a Kricketune. It refused to get caught, so I decided to run away, because I was NOT wasting all my balls on a KRICKETUNE.
♦ Made my way up to Celestic Town, where I am currently saved.

I'll have to update this thread in a bit, but for now i'll post this decently overdue challenge of mine.

Leaf Green Wedlocke - Full Challenge
Extra rules: Healing limit of five items per battle, level limit to Gym Leader's highest, can bend gender clause based on certain box conditions.

Spoiler:
Gonna try to sum up everything as quickly as I can here: I started the game and named myself Tony, and named my rival Anton. My ID No. was 17231, so I got Bulbasaur, named Truffle. I barely beat Anton, and after delivering Oak's Parcel and getting Poké Balls, caught a female Rattata named Gnarla. On Route 22 I caught myself a female Mankey named Onika, then on Route 2 a male Pidgey named Olli. When I made it through Viridian Forest, I beat Brock in two turns.

Then I went through Route 3, where I caught a Jigglypuff named Kirby, which really surprised me and was quite exciting. Then in Mt. Moon I managed to get a male Geodude named Rock Candy, which was alright. After training them up I went through Mt. Moon, and Truffle became an Ivysaur. I gave Mega Kick to Onika on Route 4, and caught a Sparrow there named Woody. I trained up some more and evolved Kirby with the Moon Stone, making her a Wigglytuff. I used her and Rock Candy against Anton, and had a couple close shaves. Then I beat the trainers on the bridge, and got Olli to evolve into Pidgeotto before the last one. I passed up catching a Caterpie on one of the routes and caught a Bellsprout (forgot the name of it) on the other, and beat the trainers, who weren't all easy. I trained my entire team to Level 20, which got Gnarla to become a Raticate. I took on Misty, and it really came to Truffle living a critical hit Swift with 4 HP after I got Starmie's Speed halved with Gnarla's Scary Face and using Leech Seed.

(From here on out, i'm only going to mention the catches I ended up using, but i'll mention all I had after this.) Once I was out of there, I got to Vermilion City and took on some of the trainers in the S.S. Anne. Anton was tough again though, because his stupid Kadabra confused Kirby with Confusion twice, but I managed to beat it and get HM01 for Cut. I beat the trainers on Route 11, also, and beat Lt. Surge with almost no difficulty thanks to Rock Candy.

I went through Route 9, taking care of more trainers, and wading through Rock Tunnel. I got to Lavender Town, and beat some trainers on Route 8, which was dandy. It got Rock Candy to evolve into Graveler, then I immediately got him traded and evolved into Golem. I arrived in Celadon, and once I was in the Rocket Hideout, Olli died to a critical hit Sludge from a Rocket Grunt's Grimer while near half health, and Onika barely managed to avenge him (the Grimer had +2 Evasion and +1 Defense, talk about scary). I replaced him with Woody the Spearow, then trained them up with the rest of the team and got Onika to evolve into a Primeape. I beat Giovanni with Kirby and Rock Candy. Erika wasn't much concern either thanks to Woody. Oh, and I got HM02 for Fly.

In Pokémon Tower, Anton proved to be more of a hassle than I was prepared for. With him done, I beat all the Channelers, and in doing so I got Truffle to Level 32, and he evolved into Venusaur, which is awesome. Making it to the top of the tower, the Marowak almost screwed me over, but Woody scored a critical hit Aerial Ace and managed to kill it from half. And the grunts were no sweat. I got through Cycling Road, fighting as few Bikers as possible, to arrive in Fuchsia City. Then I beat a bunch of the trainers on Routes 15, 14 and 13 for EXP. I toured Silph Co, beat a ton of Rocket Grunts (and Gnarla almost died to a Koffing with Self-destruct), and did a lot of backtracking activities. I had obtained the Super Rod, and caught a Poliwhirl in Viridian City, which I traded for Jynx in Cerulean City. I also beat the Fighting Dojo with Onika and Woody. After my entire team was Level 37, I took on Anton, who I beat without any deaths or even items and a LOT of hax. Giovanni I didn't have that much issue against with Kirby and Rock Candy. I had beat the trainers in Koga's Gym while training, and when I took him on Kirby beat his first Koffing, Rock Candy beat the Muk, Kirby took care of the second Koffing, and when Weezing came out I paralyzed it with Secret Power and it was fully paralyzed, then I scored a critical hit and he was fully paralyzed again, then I finished him with Hyper Beam.

I went through Seafoam Islands (depositing by using a Krabby that I had caught named Cookie) and made it to Cinnabar Island. I also went back to Celadon City and got the Eevee, which I named Metamorph. I took on Sabrina, who did get a bit scary with Mr. Mime and Baton Pass, but I got quite lucky against Alakazam, scoring a Magnitude 8 and OHKO'ing her when she only used Calm Mind.

Blaine was a little more worrisome, if only because his Arcanine hit hard, but I beat him without losing anyone.

At the Sevii Islands, I had a bit of a close shave against the last Biker, but other than that it wasn't much worrying. I took on the Viridian Gym with my entire team at Level 45/46. Giovanni's first Rhyhorn was OHKO'ed by Kirby's Water Pulse (which I gave her before the fight as a throwaway move), Nidoqueen I had to get a bit juggly against, as it had me poisoned with Poison Point after Water Pulse did less than half followed by Strength, but I beat it with a Hyper Beam after another Water Pulse. Nidoking did over half to Rock Candy with Earthquake, but mine OHKO'ed (and we were same level). His second Rhyhorn was also OHKO'ed by Water Pulse, and Dugtrio I healed up against but bested with a Hyper Beam, clearing my record of acing every Gym Leader without a single death.

But then we had to fight Anton on Route 22. Pidgeot was easy for Rock Candy, and Alakazam I had Rock Candy live a Psychic from and OHKO with Earthquake, but then when Exeggcute came in was when it started to get disastrous. He paralyzed Kirby and managed to get in a SolarBeam for under half her health, even though I scored a critical hit Strength to knock him low. Then I beat him to the punch. Gyarados came afterwards, and I don't remember what he did next but I managed to get him to sleep with Sing, and I went to Rock Candy and hit three times with Rock Blast. But then he woke up and ravaged Rock Candy with Hydro Pump, for our second death. He missed with his next one against Kirby as I healed up, but lowered her Defense with Leer before I finished him. Charizard did 2/3 my health with Flamethrower, and my Water Pulse did awful. Next thing you know, Kirby's dead. I went to Woody, and he got in Flamethrower and I lived with 5 HP, then my Hyper Beam...didn't kill him. Then - miraculously, and I seriously have no idea why he did this and I thank him for it - he switched out to Rhyhorn. That had me going over to Onika, and healing up Woody with a Hyper Potion, and my Brick Break didn't kill him even after he had taken recoil damage twice, and I lived with 4 HP but beat him. Charizard came out again and I went back to Woody, and we were speed tied, because I went first and finished him off.

My replacements for Kirby and Rock Candy were ZYNX the Jynx and Metamorph the Eevee, the latter of which I evolved into Jolteon after making it through Victory Road. I got my entire team trained to Level 60, and then it was Elite Four time! With Lorelei, Gnarla managed to 2HKO her Dewgong with Return. Cloyster was OHKO'ed with Truffle's Razor Leaf. Slowbro was OHKO'ed by Frenzy Plant. Lapras came short of being 2HKO'ed with Gnarla's Return, but I switched in Truffle as she healed and I slammed her with Frenzy Plant. Her Jynx was OHKO'ed by Gnarla's Shadow Ball.
With Bruno, I OHKO'ed all five of his Pokémon - the two Onix with Onika's Low Kick, and his three Fighting-types with Woody's Drill Peck. Even Machamp.
Agatha was a bit different. I got in a Substitute with Woody, and her first Gengar failed to do anything to me as Drill Peck beat her in three turns after she healed. Golbat was 2HKO'ed and failed to break my substitute. Arbok broke my substitute but was 2HKO'ed also. Her second Gengar was helpless when I got in a substitute, and I scored a critical hit OHKO. Haunter was OHKO'ed. Next!
Lance was last, and I OHKO'ed all five of his Pokémon - Gyarados and Aerodactyl with Metamorph, and the Dragonair and Dragonite with ZYNX.
Finally was the Champion, Anton. ZYNX OHKO'ed Pidgeot and Rhydon with Ice Beam, Metamorph OHKO'ed Gyarados with Thunderbolt, ZYNX came in on Alakazam, got him to sleep with Lovely Kiss and used Fake Tears to half his Special Defense, making Ice Beam an OHKO. Charizard came after, and I went to Metamorph and used Rain Dance as he missed with Fire Blast, then Thunder was a clean slam. Finally was Exeggutor, who was OHKO'ed by ZYNX's Ice Beam - and with that, ending the adventure with a completely flawless victory against the Champion, holy god did that feel amazing.

Then I was entered into the Hall of Fame!

Chevitile March 22nd, 2015 3:08 AM

Finally I can update again! I'll put all my encounters in a separate spoiler tag.

Spoiler:

♦ In Celestic Town, I went to the cave thing and triggered the event. I obtained Surf, and made my way back to Hearthome City.
♦ I took on the gym, where Stella swept Fantina.
♦ Started doing some Surf sidequests, and eventually made my way to Canalave City, where Barry challenged me. Slimesmile and Stella took him down.
♦ After exploring Iron Island with Riley, I faced Byron, who was defeated by Slimesmile and Stella.
♦ Team Galactic decided to blow up some lakes, so we had to investigate. I went to Lake Valor, and eventually found Saturn. I faced him using Courtney and Tectonix. His Toxicroak killed Tectonix with Revenge. Courtney had to finish the battle, and then I paired her up with Houdini the Abra. Their relationship was short-lived, as he fainted from a wild Floatzel's Pursuit while training. I now paired Courtney up with Tucker the Pachirisu.
♦ I continued to Lake Verity, where Stella and Slimesile took care of Mars.
♦ Before moving on to Lake Acuity, I wanted to train up Tucker. However, it fainted from a wild Mr. Mime's Psybeam. I've just about had it at this point.
♦ Paired up Courtney with Cappuccino the Buneary, whose happiness and levels needed to rise drastically. I did so, without any death from a wild Pokémon this time.
♦ I made my way up to Snowpoint City, where I battled Candice. Stella's Flamethrower worked wonders, but she needed aid from Slimesmile for Medicham.
♦ Having confronted Jupiter at Lake Acuity, I now made my way to the Galactic HQ in Veilstone. I raided the place, and met Cyrus near the end. Trinidad swept him.
♦ Saturn was found at the very deep end of the headquarters. Trinidad and Tweegi took him down.
♦ With that down, my next destination was Spear Pillar. At the summit, Jupiter & Mars challenged Barry and I to a battle. Stella took care of them, with the help of Barry's Pokémon, of course.
♦ Cyrus was up next, who proved to be a real challenge. I lead off with Stella, who took down his Honchkrow, but not before it used Embargo. Next up was Gyarados, who was an immense threat due to Giga Impact and Aqua Tail (Stella was at low health and neither she nor Slimesmile have very good defenses). I switched out to Slimesmile, hoping to survive an attack. However, I got extremely lucky, as he missed almost every move. I was also able to paralyze him with Body Slam, and eventually took him down. The rest of the battle was a bit tricky as well, but Stella and Slimesmile managed to pull through.
♦ Facing Dialga, I lead off with Tweegi. I regret that. One Dragon Claw and Roar of Time was enough to take Tweegi out before she could kill it off. Really sucks, because my goal was to have the first pairing survive through the entire thing :( Oh well, can't be helped.
♦ I paired Trinidad with the reincarnated Pokémon version of Jinkx Monsoon's Christmas candy cane reindeer outfit, namely Snover.
♦ Currently training up on Route 222.

Just wanted to bump this, i'll post progress when I feel like it, thanks again! Also, do remember that you can double post after two weeks and not a month.

Last update for Diamond!

Spoiler:

♦ After grinding up, I beat Volkner with Slimesmile and Stella. I then headed to Victory Road, trekked through it, and arrived at the Pokémon League.
♦ Barry challenged me to a battle. I used the same pair as I did against Volkner. My rival came pretty close to defeating Stella with Snorlax, but we prevailed.
♦ Next up was the Elite Four! I used Stella and Slimesmile against Aaron, although Slimesmile went down to a crit Close Combat from Heracross. Slimesmiled pulled through.
♦ I faced Bertha with Courtney and Cappuccino, which was a real challenge. Cappuccino died from a Cursing Hippowdon's Earthquake followed by Sandstorm damage, so Courtney had to get in there. It was difficult to avoid dying from Rock-type moves and deal damage with non-super effective moves, but it somehow worked out.
♦ I led off with Courtney against Flint, because I felt like she had a strong chance to come through. She defeated Rapidash and Infernape, but using Close Combat on Steelix, not killing it and receiving Def. drops from it was just an invitation to get killed by it. To top it off, he even got a crit with Rock Tomb. Stella took care of the rest, though.
♦ Lucian was swept by Stella. His Bronzong was a threat with Earthquake and Calm Mind, rendering Flamethrower nearly useless, but it eventually went down after I had stalled it a bit.
♦ My final pair, Trinidad and Jinkx, faced off against Cynthia. Her Lucario took down Trinidad with an Earthquake, but Jinkx somehow managed to defeat it. However, Jinkx went down due to Sp. Def. drops from Roserade's moves. Stella was my final Pokémon, but couldn't defeat Garchomp.
♦ So, we came close to a victory, but it wasn't enough. I am extremely proud of my team though, they did not go down without a fight.
♦ ... and then, I trained up an entirely new team out of Pokémon I had in my box. I paired Zubat (Aaron) with Magikarp (Dragonfish), Meditite (Charem) with Wooper (Teracua) and Wingull (Pelicapo) with Cleffa (Chloe).
♦ Grinded them all up to Lv 65, finalized movesets, got new items and all of that. Game on. The sequel.
♦ Teracua and Charem took care of the 3 first members, with Teracua actually sweeping Bertha.
♦ I took down Lucian with Chloe, thanks to Cosmic Power. His Bronzong took a bit longer to take down than usual, but it couldn't deal much damage anyway.
♦ I swept Cynthia with Dragonfish. Adamant nature, EV trained in Attack, Dragon Dance. It felt good. So, in the end, I made it! Yay! I have a video of the final battle, too:

First update for my Pokémon X Wedlocke!

Yesterday was a nightmare... It started off okay. I picked Froakie as my starter and decided to call it Umpedumo (don't ask my why). I then moved on to route 2 and caught Disappoint the Zigzagoon. I caught Stingthing the Weedle in Santalune Forest and right after that Onic the Fletchling. Now that I had all this done it was time to prepare for the first gym. I got all my pokémon up to level 10, evolved Weedle into Kakuna and Kakuna into Beedrill. The gymleader wasn't that hard and I got my first badge!

And here is when the bad luck starts. I tried to catch a Ledyba on route 4, but I knocked it out with a crit. I beat Sycamore in Lumiose City and got my Squirtle (that I decided to call Rainer), but I lost Stingthing to the Charmander. How? I was watching a movie and playing the game at the same time, and when Charmander came in I was just mashing the a button. And because I was watching something else, I didn't register the danger of a fire type against my bug type, so I didn't switch out in time, and it defeated my Beedrill with the fire type move I didn't see coming. Luckily, the then single Onic was female and Rainer was a guy, so I could use him to immediately fill up the empty spot. A real shame tho, I really liked Stingthing.

After I headed to route 5 to catch my new pokémon the bad luck struck again. I encountered a Furfrou, a pokémon I absolutely refuse to use, especially when there are routes with better pokes ahead. Then things were finally starting to look better again, but as you probably guessed that wasn't going to be the case. I caught the male Espurr "Satan", but before that I lost 2(!) pokémon in some stupid fight with a trainer. Rip Disappoint and Umpedumo.

Result:
Rainer (Squirtle) Lvl 15 - Onic (Fletchinder) Lvl 17
Satan (Espurr) Lvl 12 - Empty
Empty - Empty

EDIT: Due to a lack of time I've temporarily stopped the challenge. I'll get back to it someday. Eventually.

First update for my Wedlocke on Black Version! I don't think I've played this since summer holidays, but I have some notes to assist me in remembering.

I picked Oshawott as my starter, and named him Thaddeus. He was paired with PhiPhi the Lillipup, and together, they defeated Cilan. Following this, a new pair was created - Boony the Pansear and Kandy the Pidove. I also caught Kokoro the Woobat in Wellspring Cave, but he didn't have a partner until after I had beaten Lenora. PhiPhi took care of her Herdier, and Thaddeus defeated Herdier. In the Pinwheel Forest, I finally found a partner for Kokoro, namely Vadan the Cottonee. This pairing later on beat Burgh, but later on, Kokoro went down to a Solosis over at the Desert Resort. Vadan was then partnered with NashaDavis the Sandile, who worked wonders against Elesa! Dig, Rock Tomb and Moxie worked greatly in the battle. Up on Route 5, Cheren challenged me to a battle, and Boony and Kandy brought him down. I am currently saved there.

Any additional rules: gender clause, dupes clause, blackout means replace the whole team with pokemon in pc (non-dead pokemon in the pc, atleast 1 non-dead pokemon should be in pc for this rule to be valid) , if condition is not fulfilled, blackout means game over

Hey friends, I'm here with a short update.

Spoiler:
As I started my journey, I chose tepig(male) as my starter and named it Champ.I named my character Rick and my rival Hugh. I defeated Hugh easily in the first battle. Then Bianca taught me how to catch a pokemon (actually we all know how to) , as soon as I entered the grass on route 19,I found a female starly.I caught it and named it Avia. As I went onto route 20,I found a male meowth,I caught it and named it Meow. When I entered the ranch and battled Hugh there, I thought my first pair will R.I.P after that battle as I hadn't healed my team after battle with youngster Petey, so my Avia had her health down. But my first pair was strong enough to survive oshawatt's rail whip and water gun combo with Avia finishing it off with a quick attack and 1hp remaining. That was really thrilling. I'll update further soon.

MY TEAM
Spoiler:

1st pair:Champ and Avia
2nd pair: Meow(lone wolf)

I also have questions
1. What about genderless Pokemons.I don't want to give up on a matang if I find one?
2. What if I want to use a gift pokemon, can I use it and if yes what do I need to do?
3. And please also let me know about hidden grottos, the pokemon found in them count our not?
