Dreaming is fun, especially when you get to solve problems. Most of my dreams have an underlying message about my psyche that I usually spend the day decoding. :P

I honestly believe that we aren't alone spiritually in our dreams. People visit us, we go places, and there's a lesson to learn about ourselves. By people visiting us, I don't mean just in our imagination; I think that there are people outside our senses that may have once lived among us that communicate to us through dreams. As for these encounters I've been having, I think my brain has gained the ability to read from that other realm of dreaming without falling asleep, meaning I can retain complete memory of the occurrence.

Sir Codin March 4th, 2014 9:00 PM

The worst part about dreaming is when you wake up and realize it was just a dream.

Zet March 4th, 2014 9:03 PM

I think the worst part is waking up, and not knowing if you're still dreaming or not if weird stuff happens during the day.

Taemin March 4th, 2014 9:12 PM

What's weird is when you think you remember things, or that something is supposed to happen that day, but it was part of a dream and wasn't real. -w- I've literally mentioning something before, and the person got confused "That was never happening today... what are you talking about?" "Oh."

Morkula March 4th, 2014 9:13 PM

I can't say I've ever had that happen, Zet. I usually realize pretty quickly that everything was a dream when I wake up from one. I've certainly wished that something was a dream before, but I don't think I've ever actually wondered if it really was.

EDIT: Now that, Drew, I've had happen. Or when you have deja vu and you experience something that seems really familiar, but you know it hasn't happened before except maybe in a dream.

Raine March 4th, 2014 9:14 PM

Does anyone get those dreams/nightmares where you feel like you're free falling and then you like have a spasm, waking yourself up in the process? o.o

Taemin March 4th, 2014 9:23 PM

Yeah. I have those. I read why they happen, but I don't remember. I think It's your body / brain trying to wake you up for some reason, normally. Or it thinks it needs to, because it thinks that it's actually falling and you're going to die. Plot twist: you're just laying in bed whoops. -w-

Yeah!

I've literally had points in a day where I've seen things happen before, or I'm talking to people and I will have already heard the conversation in a dream. Like, I'll literally remember that I've had a dream about it.

XD Well, thanks for sort of clearing that up. My circadian rhythm is pretty on point, so it's nice to have that body clock instead of relying on an alarm. Still set one just in case it decides not to work one day though :P

Taemin March 4th, 2014 9:41 PM

Hopefully it's not physically possible for it to not work.... XD;

Starry Windy March 4th, 2014 11:04 PM

Speaking of dreaming, I'm reminded that about a year ago, I was wanting to wake up but can't, and all I see was black, that makes me thought that I was almost out... but thankfully finally I managed to wake up. I wonder if it was because my body was tired, because it has happened about 3-5 times.

YES! Also I have naughty dreams :P I don't want to wake myself up from them.

Miracle Seed March 4th, 2014 11:14 PM

Falling dreams are the absolute worst. My body seems to lock up afterwards for a few moments. So that basically freaks me out even more

Raine March 4th, 2014 11:18 PM

Those dreams feel scarily real especially ones where I feel like I've jumped off a building and am heading towards the ground D: So scary. Otherwise, I don't remember what my dreams are about. Wonder what those spasms look like from an observer's perspective XD

Netto Azure March 4th, 2014 11:50 PM

They feel so real and my heart keeps pounding.

Worries the heck out of me.

Ah, sleep paralysis. I hate it when I wake up and I can still feel it. -.- but it exists as well because it prevents people from moving while dreaming.

Plumpyfoof March 5th, 2014 4:05 AM

In serious movies and television you never see characters questioning why they're the protagonist. They never ask why they are so special they should be the ones to do all these great things.
I always have these epic adventures in my dreams and i constantly find myself questioning what's so special that I should play a vital role in its telling. Like I know I'm not the hero type, I'm not about to lead the front lines into battle. If I'm going to play a vital part it's going to passive and from a safe distance. So why do I dream that I'm this all important character who plays the biggest influence in the survival of my other characters?

Alexander Nicholi March 5th, 2014 4:33 AM

After a while I got used to the falling dreams. One time I actually felt myself crash. :P

Naughty, naughty, naughty dreams. I haven't got one of those since I was 14 (two years ago). At least not one that I recollect. :3

Tsutarja March 5th, 2014 4:42 AM

I've been able to remember my dreams from the past few nights, which is really weird because I never remember dreams o.o

Shining Raichu March 5th, 2014 6:20 AM

I see dreams as my brain defragging. It's sorting out my subconscious so I can live without it bothering me in my waking life. So what I dream about is none of my business, really.

Miracle Seed March 5th, 2014 7:10 AM

Wait...how is it none of your business if it's your brain? you can't mean you aren't the slightest bit interested

Omicron March 5th, 2014 7:42 AM

I like dreaming. I hate waking up and realizing some of the things I dreamt were not real. I also get a lot of deja vu experiences because of dreams I've had, sometimes it freaks me out, the other times it is no big deal.

Aeroblast March 5th, 2014 9:27 AM

I like dreams, except when they're nightmares... I still remember one from over 10 years ago.

Yeah but your brain can't defrag cuz its not a computer duh

Khilia March 5th, 2014 9:35 AM

I don't really remember any of my dreams unless they're nightmares :c
Or even worse, if they're caused by a sleeping paralysis

They sound rather scary, yes, but as a being who is used to them already they aren't really *that* awful to me anymore
Well they still can be horrendous if you're new to them, I mean a feeling of being stuck in a eerie dream where you are unable to move, or you hallucinate you are lying in your bed and you are practically tied to the bed as well and you can't do anything about it is probably something scary...

Snubbull March 5th, 2014 10:15 AM

I see dreams as omens. If I'm stressed, I try to debunk what it was exactly that was going on in my dream for future reference. I have a dream symbol book I use as well

Nightmares are probably the dreams I remember the most, because usually after I have them, I usually wake up almost after they had happened, and sometimes my heart is rapidly beating after they occur.

Same. When I dream it's often something stressful, or just a full on bad dream, so I tend to remember them more. I still remember a few good dreams I've had over the years, but not many. -w-

Tsutarja March 5th, 2014 11:04 AM

I've had some good dreams these past few nights and I remember them. I also hate it when I wake up in the middle of a good dream as well >>

Nathan March 5th, 2014 11:29 AM

I usually have plenty of great dreams then I wake up and forget them all ;;

Synerjee March 5th, 2014 12:28 PM

Mm I've been sleeping rather late these past few nights... Midterms and stuff really take a toll on me ._. I should learn how to sleep earlier, but alas, old habits die hard.

Omicron March 5th, 2014 12:41 PM

I've undergone sleep paralysis once. I had very high fever and was very sick. I woke up and couldn't move. I started hallucinating because of the fever too. It was such an awful experience! D:

How does something like that even happen? Did you catch something?

Sammi March 5th, 2014 2:09 PM

I've had bouts of sleep paralysis before. They've all happened when I take naps, never when I'm sleeping for the night. Wasn't sick either, I think I just got started in my sleep. It's always scary, because I always think something's wrong in the house and I can't move.

Being out of work for two weeks has screwed up my sleeping schedule. I haven't had any obligations, so I could go to bed and wake up whenever I wanted. I'll have to take OTC sleeping pills to get to bed early and not feel like a zombie tomorrow morning. D:

Yes, I had pneumonia. I was also in a state of major depression that was diagnosed about two weeks after that.

Tsutarja March 5th, 2014 3:02 PM

Pneumonia is not a fun disease. I was diagnosed at the age of two with pneumonia because of the poor conditions the daycare I was attending at the time.

Starry Windy March 5th, 2014 3:17 PM

Oh boy, that's no good :(

And lately my sleeping schedule was interrupted, the late internet packet makes me active so late that I was sleeping in the morning.

Infernape March 5th, 2014 3:28 PM

I usually try to go to sleep by 1 am. I put on something for noise in the background, and doze...or try to. Haha. The only reason I stay up later is if I'm playing games with friends, but that's usually on days off

Starry Windy March 5th, 2014 3:34 PM

Oh. I used to stay late when it was a big celebration like Happy New Year, but now it changes. And I missed playing games with friends, brings back my old memories.

Meganium March 5th, 2014 3:46 PM

I've had a huge insomnia problem a year ago. It wasn't fun at all :(

also woo new DCC i am always late on these things.

Pendraflare March 5th, 2014 3:53 PM

On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays are the days I tend to stay up later than usual. But as per standards i'm usually asleep near midnight on school nights. Funny thing is, last night I went to bed at not even 11, and woke up near 3 AM to get some water.

And my Literature professor cancelled the Midterm exam he had planned shortly after we return from break due to the slow, but I do have some side things to do before I return to class on Tuesday.

Raine March 5th, 2014 3:54 PM

Sometimes I'll have trouble sleeping, only because the time it takes me to actually fall asleep is normally my quiet thinking time and then my brain starts overthinking causing me to stay awake OTL Now my solemn thinking time is when I'm driving by myself to school everyday; plenty of time :3

When I have trouble sleeping, I have no problem with tiredness throughout my day at all, really. It happened the day I was modded, I was running on 4-5 hours of sleep and it felt like I had 10 hours of sleep.

Nathan March 5th, 2014 4:22 PM

I only have troubles sleeping when I take coke(the drink) otherwise I don't really have problems to fall asleep. But waking up... ;;

Tsutarja March 5th, 2014 4:37 PM

Caffeine is ineffective on me. I can have as many glasses of Coca Cola that I want to have, and I can still fall asleep in 30 minutes or less.

Taemin March 5th, 2014 4:44 PM

I usually drink one or two sodas a day, and they don't keep me up. I think my body is used to that amount. xD; If I drank an energy drink I would be screwed, though.

Tsutarja March 5th, 2014 4:46 PM

I've never had an energy drink before, and I'm not sure if I would want to try one either, tbh @[email protected] my father drinks energy drinks, though..

Raine March 5th, 2014 5:00 PM

The only time I've had an energy drink was mixing it with alcohol OTL Kind of betting on the taste being gross...

There was an energy/alcoholic drink called Four Locos that was banned in Florida I believe. It had really harmful effects.

Anyways, I have one when I work a long shift during my break, but I really just like the flavor of the Yellow Monster, so that's why I get it. I don't think it actually helps, I just feel like it would.

Straight whiskey or get out.

Rums nice too though.

Ciders great too.

Schnapps are nice too.

Hiatus March 5th, 2014 6:33 PM

I consume caffeine in morning, most of the time. It does help me stay awake, but only for an hour at most. :( Wish the effect would last longer.

Tsutarja March 5th, 2014 6:38 PM

Caffeine drinks are something I consume sparingly. I used to drink soda fairly often when I was younger, but not so much anymore. Same with coffee as well.

Can't say I've ever had Jäger.

I'm not a big drinker, and when I do it's usually just beer, or a drink whose name is probably censored here. It's mix is Butterscotch Schnapps and Irish Cream.

Alexander Nicholi March 5th, 2014 7:58 PM

Alcohol is like football to you guys :<

Today I had the enjoyment of having an explosive nervous breakdown in the bathroom during ROTC. Long story short, Echo's first sergeant decided to stab me in the back because the Colonel reprimanded her over instigating me and baiting me with demerits. Because of that, I not only have since lost my oppurtunity for E-6, but E-5 as well because the Sergeant-Major doesn't believe I'm "worthy" of a promotion. In the event I pulled my shirt apart button by button and pulled myself on top of the wall of the bathroom with my muscle-less spaghetti arms, and about broke the handicap bar. Oddly, it relieved so much pressure, and I feel so much better.

I just wonder where all that anger came from. :<

Sir Codin March 5th, 2014 9:04 PM

You're telling me.

I've been feeling depressed lately as well. Problem is, I'm not sure why. I just simply feel angry and miserable. I've had thoughts of overdosing several times and I've skipped chemistry class twice in a row (enough that the professor emailed me and asked me if I was alright). I'm utterly bored at my job and I constantly feel like a worthless piece of trash and that no matter what I do, I won't amount to anything. I'm having trouble falling asleep, having trouble waking up, and I feel lethargic throughout most of the day and yet I feel tense and angry. I don't know the reason why I'm angry, it just seems to feel like it's a natural state.

Taemin March 5th, 2014 11:14 PM

Sounds like something that maybe you should talk to a therapist about it. There's not always an answer for depression like that, it's just a chemical imbalance past a certain point. Or there are causes that you're unaware of, but not always. :/

Omicron March 6th, 2014 12:10 AM

I agree with Drew, you should talk with someone about it. I used to feel the same way as you do now. I was diagnosed with major depression and started medical treatment. It is a slow process but it is really worth it. I hadn't felt this great in a loooooong time. Depression can be caused by Serotonin imbalances and have no apparent reason. Although, most of the time, if the depression has to do with a serotonin imbalance, other external factors are mixed in. That was my case and I can tell you seeking help is the best decision I've ever made.

Shhmew March 6th, 2014 1:23 AM

Oh noes, more sad people. ]:

I've been having less-than-pleasant thoughts too. But I'm just in a deep hole in my life, really. Once I get out I think I'll be just fine. ^__^ At least, this is what I keep telling myself. Not everyone can simply up and be "just fine" one day; seeking help is best, just be really really careful when it comes to things like medication. My mom and some others I know have become dependent on it which isn't fun to watch...

And goodness... more alcohol talk ;P I've never drank before and I'm kind of scared to. The idea of losing control of myself isn't a pleasant thought. I believe I may have already said that though. But I just don't have much else to say on the matter due to lack of experience.

Drinking alcohol doesn't mean you HAVE to be drunk :p If you moderate it, you'll be just fine.

Also I haven't felt depressed at all lately. Thanks to metal music, life is great ^^

Tsutarja March 6th, 2014 3:29 AM

I was depressed when I was in 8th/9th grade. What made me feel better was when someone told me to look at my actions and how I treat others, and how I view things as well, and I felt better.

TY March 6th, 2014 3:30 AM

I was depressed for a long time cause of school... It was just the worst time of my life tbh. Video games kept me from actually removing myself from the planet.

Sector March 6th, 2014 3:42 AM

More alcohol talk? We might as well make a thread about alcohol while we're at it. Everytime I come here that's what y'all talk about >:(

Anyway, depression? Not really my thing. So I can't relate. :( Yep, just another boring post by little 'ol me.

Puddle March 6th, 2014 4:09 AM

I was depressed in like 10th grade for a short period of time. Really, you just need something good in your life to happen, and then it becomes easy to bounce back from it.

Raine March 6th, 2014 4:23 AM

D: What's with the depressing topic? I had multiple periods of depression; major ones occurred during Summer of 2010 and last year. Thankfully I made it through them, but the latter took me a year to recognize the problem and actually do something about it.

Tsutarja March 6th, 2014 4:26 AM

I dislike depressing topics as well :x

Last year in sociology class, the teacher made the desks into a roundtable discussion, and there was an activity where we each had index cards with names of the seniors on them. One person that had my name said that "I was never seen to be sad or angry" and that literally made me smile.

Puddle March 6th, 2014 4:31 AM

People tend to perceive me as happy and funny. Those are always two good traits. :D

Alexander Nicholi March 6th, 2014 4:47 AM

For the longest time, while I was in middle school, I was so depressed it wasn't funny; I was on about a gram of lithium a day for manic depression, and—to quote Alice in Chains—I was buried in my ♥♥♥♥. Once I moved to Colorado and started getting out in the sun and running/swimming, things really shaped up and I got off of my lithium for a bit.

Oddly enough, things right now seem to be falling apart as well, considering I'm getting royally screwed over by a first sergeant and XO who decided to play revenge for something that wasn't even my fault. Plus it's likely that I'm going to be moving schools, so bye-bye rich superior high school, and hello regular school in my hometown.

Fernbutter March 6th, 2014 4:49 AM

I wonder why alcohol always manages to find a way to get a connection with depression, I guess almost all the time, this is how the case would go... I mean getting severely depressed all the time, self-harm, then alcohol, drugs and blah blah... I had gotten depression a long while back, even when I hadn't actually realized it. But by the time I did, I don't think that it really changed me at all. I had my goals set straight at all times, and wanted people to be happy, happier than me anyway...

I guess people really do have a bit too much of a problem at times.

Being double-traited is something I am half-well known for.
Mostly because both traits contradict with one another.

I myself felt in a pretty low point around 7th/8th grade myself, because that was really when I was at my worst, given how I was always misbehaved. And the fall semester of my third year at community college was pretty hard on me also, because of some tragic occurrences that happened (my papa dying being one of them, although it wasn't THAT horrible because we knew it was coming before long). But there is one other that hit me unbelievably hard that I really don't like to discuss. :x

Anyway, let's change to a less somber topic, haha.

The carnaval at Rio just passed and the World Cup is coming closer. Are you guys looking forward to it?

I'm not very much into sports but I find the World Cup a fun event, besides completing the sticker albums is always fun. :P

I'm so looking forward to the World Cup! All the teams are looking great in the moment! /drools

Starry Windy March 6th, 2014 5:23 AM

Woooo! I can't wait for World Cup as well, I hope it will become a blast! And recently I see that the plaza started to sell the uniforms that will be used in World Cup.

Nathan March 6th, 2014 5:29 AM

The matches yesterday made me excited. Brazil seems eager to start.

Starry Windy March 6th, 2014 5:31 AM

Ofc, and I hope they are more than ready to become the Champions once again. And speaking of Champions, I'm unsure who will win next. Sometimes it gets unpredictable.

Nathan March 6th, 2014 5:42 AM

I can see what you mean. There are good teams out there like Portugal, Spain, Germany, Belgium, etc...

Starry Windy March 6th, 2014 5:52 AM

Yeah, and I remember in 2006 and 2010's World Cup, I was rooting for South Korea, because of their outstanding performance at 2002. Too bad that they didn't go well as of yet... I hope they can taste the World Cup victory someday.

Cordelia March 6th, 2014 6:18 AM

I enjoy the World Cup! I just really enjoy watching some intense matches... I don't have a team or anything. :x

Khilia March 6th, 2014 6:22 AM

My country is probably #1 in almost winning the world cup...

Crystal Glaceon March 6th, 2014 8:30 AM

I try to watch and keep up with it, but normally I just fall right back off when I get wrapped up in work and stuff

Nathan March 6th, 2014 8:45 AM

Dad allows us to watch Championship matches during the week so I'm not too far up on thing <3

Puddle March 6th, 2014 8:46 AM

Ehh, I'm from America. A lot of us don't really watch the World Cup. I've never had an interest in Soccer.

Starry Windy March 6th, 2014 9:15 AM

Oh, this reminds me when I finally have a chance to watch the Final of the last World Cup. I was watching along with my parents at the bedroom, and I was a tad bit late because I'm forced to wake up after midnight (it's aired past midnight in my area). The moment when watching the Finals was stunning.
