Well what you see being fired there are two 2A38M's which fire 30mm's at roughly 3800 to 5000 RPM, so I guess this thing might easily kill a building or something

Tsutarja March 6th, 2014 11:47 AM

I haven't really cared for FIFA, though I know that soccer is one of the largest international sports.

It is THE largest international sport, haha. What I love about the World Cup is that it isn't just a sport event, music and culture are very involved too.

Meganium March 6th, 2014 12:16 PM

hnngg I can't wait for the world cup! Mexico is extremely pumped up for it. This summer is going to be a blaaast. B)

TY March 6th, 2014 12:18 PM

World Cup... Not too excited for it as some others are, mainly because I know the Netherlands have the worst defense they ever had >_<

Yukari March 6th, 2014 12:42 PM

I honestly don't know what the big deal is about the world cup. ~_~

Meganium March 6th, 2014 12:42 PM

I tend to hold out some hope for Mexico. They can win the U-17 and the U-20 division champs but i haven't seen them make an effort in winning the ACTUAL world cup. They keep getting beaten by the best teams like Argentina and Brazil. lol

TY March 6th, 2014 12:44 PM

As long as they keep the ball on the opponent's half the Netherlands may stand a chance hahaha

Considering that soccer (aka football internationally) is the world's most known sport, of course there's bound to be some hype :p

Gabri March 6th, 2014 3:59 PM

I think we will manage to make a decent World Cup. Our strong points are obviously Ronaldo and Moutinho, but we have no decent striker and sometimes our wing backs seem like they have constipated brains. If the former two are not in a good shape, our offensive power becomes zero.

My bet on who the champion will be would be on Brazil.

Sir Codin March 6th, 2014 5:49 PM

I think I'm starting to feel better. Went back to my classes and I'm super psyched for my club's Japan Town trip on Saturday.

My day was okay. Despite the fact that it was a rainy day, it couldn't have been better. I applied for a job at school today to work on campus.

Sir Codin March 6th, 2014 7:27 PM

Great, now I'm putting Milton Friedman books into my Amazon cart.

Omicron March 6th, 2014 8:25 PM

It was a rainy day here as well. And as I've said before, I love rainy days. The sound of the rain is soothing and the smell of it is incredible.

Where I am it consistently was overcast and drizzling all day. It looked like it was going to storm, but never did. This is 3 days straight now. I don't get it.

Alexander Nicholi March 6th, 2014 8:39 PM

Oh weather, how I hate thee
You bring back thoughts of a stale memory

Oh weather, how I hate thou
You turn the DCC into a rotting cow

It was nice and overcast today, but actually somewhat warm for the sixth of March. I also got my PT uniform with AlexTheRose imprinted on the back of it... maybe I'll post pics this weekend. :3

I went down on Academy Boulevard with my mother as we jammed to Bruno Mars and Lorde on our pop station, which was fun. We ended up going to Captain D's for my birthday dinner, as per my pick. :P

One of the things I'm dreading though is tomorrow at 6:30 I'm going to see my father so we can "hang out" and have cake and presents. I suggested that maybe we could work out together instead, considering my mother just bought me a gym subscription. He seemed queasy about it, plus I just don't know what to do with him considering the way he treated me when I lived with him. Last time I saw him I ended up getting tired and crashing in my bed in the middle of the afternoon from anxiety. :/

El Héroe Oscuro March 6th, 2014 8:49 PM

I would take a rainy day over a frigid cold day any day. It's a snow-packed wonderland in the north where I am. Even though it hasn't snowed the last few days, it's been 20 degrees all this week :l

Sir Codin March 6th, 2014 8:52 PM

Well, it depends on where you are in California, really.

Right now in Monterey (where I live) it's about 56 degrees Fahrenheit, whist in someplace like Death Valley it's currently 76, whist Kirkwood (near the Sierra Nevadas) is 34 right now.

California has a large number of different environments bundled up in one large state.

Probably one of the only other times I wish I lived in California and not Massachusetts. There is no such as Winter in Cali. D:

Taemin March 6th, 2014 9:13 PM

Eh... snowfall is pretty to watch the first time or two, but after that all it does is make it hard to drive, and it gets so cold that you don't wanna go outside, but you have to because work and school often expects you regardless. So you have to thaw out and scrape off your car, and shovel the driveway, and etc. xD; There are some reasons to be glad you live in a place that doesn't get a typical winter.

Unless you live in Atlanta and have to shut down the entire city like they did this year for a day because your government wasn't prepared for a little bit of snow and ice :P

El Héroe Oscuro March 6th, 2014 9:24 PM

Let us say time travel is possible, where and when would you like to have your wibbly wobbly timey wimey adventures to take places?

Omicron March 6th, 2014 10:30 PM

Plymouth, England. The year is 1831. I would convince Lieutenant FitzRoy to let me join them in the second travel of the HMS Beagle. What a wonderful trip and such wonderful company make it my number one destination in Time Travel.

Meganium March 6th, 2014 10:33 PM

Europe in the 1300's or 1400's is something I'd like to explore on time travel tbh.

Miracle Seed March 6th, 2014 10:54 PM

The wild west era would be fun to gallivant around like a complete fool in

Hiatus March 6th, 2014 11:00 PM

It'd definitely have to be Ireland. The place seems very... mystical, and going back in time there should be extremely interesting. Well, for me, anyway.

Omicron March 6th, 2014 11:16 PM

I'd also love to travel to Greece during the splendor of the Greek empire. Maybe meet Aristotle and Alexander the Great.

Urugamosu March 6th, 2014 11:24 PM

Definitely just way, way back in time. I want to see how humans adapted back in the years where dinosaurs existed.

Starry Windy March 6th, 2014 11:35 PM

I'd like to go to Europe to see how the Royal Kingdom works back then.

Sector March 7th, 2014 2:54 AM

I'd personally love to go anywhere with an interesting background & culture to it. I mean, maybe it's because I was born & raised in America, I find USA to be really boring compared to the rest. Is that the reason or am I just that picky? I'm totally picky, aren't I?

Tsutarja March 7th, 2014 3:46 AM

I want to go somewhere else just for the sake of getting away from home. I haven't had a vacation away from home in like three years now, but I wish I could take one right now.

Sometimes I come across people who are Canadians, wanting to travel to the US or vice versa. We're practically cousins, there shouldn't be too much difference so I question their choice XD If I were to time travel, I'd travel back to the era of Victorian dresses; those are beautiful.

Alexander Nicholi March 7th, 2014 6:53 AM

I'd like to visit Actium in August of 31 BC, so I can watch the development of when Octavian brutally slew Antony's and Kleopatra's forces. Plus I bet it's a really cute little peninsula to just make a house on and live peacefully. :)

TY March 7th, 2014 6:54 AM

I would travel to Australia for the most obvious reason I could ever have to go there ;)

Sir Codin March 7th, 2014 7:23 AM

Hitler...I need to kill him...I would have someone hack me back in time...to Nazi Germany....just like a time machine. Then I will kill Hitler. Just like in this upcoming movie.

No, I wouldn't say you are being picky. I think when one lives in an area for such a long time, they become accustomed to the things around them and are looking for something "new." That being said, I have the same point of view as you; USA doesn't seem as exciting as say, Italy.

That being said, I love to go to Italy during the time of the Renaissance. Much culture and art. Wow. So need to do this.

Sir Codin March 7th, 2014 7:32 AM

Oh my God guys, I found the music used in that trailer. It's so siiiiiiiiiick.

HNNNNNGGGG, SO 80's!

Yukari March 7th, 2014 8:08 AM

If I could go back in time, I would go back to feudal Japan.

Cordelia March 7th, 2014 8:17 AM

If I could go back in time, I'd gun it to 88 and hit up the the Tudor period.

Livewire March 7th, 2014 8:33 AM

I'd hit up feudal Japan for sure, but I'd also really love to see the height of say, Egyptian or Roman civilization. Just hang out on the Nile and get a tan or go see some gladiator games in the coliseum. .

Austin March 7th, 2014 11:51 AM

Victorian England, definitely. Everything was so refined and sophisticated, it's awesome.

Dreg March 7th, 2014 12:27 PM

I'd love to go back to the 90's once again, in the same place as I was brought up, and re-live my life again. There's so much of the 90's that I do miss a lot. ;_;

Kanzler March 7th, 2014 12:28 PM

omigod dcc topic is freaking cool for once

yunno all those times and places might be cool to us, but that's because we study bourgeois history - most people in those times lived as peasants.

i'd want to go to victorian britain to see empire and industrialization laying waste to the working class and the environment. a lot of environmental and social damage occurred back then but we don't really appreciate it because things are so good right now.

Dreg March 7th, 2014 12:33 PM

Speaking of another time, I might want to go back into a time unknown and see if Atlantis really existed. If it did, then I would have been pleased to know that it wasn't just a myth all along.

Khilia March 7th, 2014 2:18 PM

Travelling back in time?

Oh there would be a lot of placed I'd like to visit, ancient Egypt, the Holy Roman Empire, feudal Japan, the *other* states of the Soviet Union, the Crusades in the middle east, heck, maybe even Nazi Germany if I really get bored...

Alexander Nicholi March 7th, 2014 4:34 PM

I've always had a standing belief that everything pre-400s Western and pre-1800s Eastern was humanity in its true form. Christianity ruined Europe and Western Imperialism ruined the East.

It's not like it's bad now or anything, though. We've taken the benefits of these global revolutions and tried our best to remove those annoying problems such as torture, slavery, genocide, mass brainwashing, and corporate greed. They're fickle weeds, aren't they?

You could make an argument though that those things still do exist though, although they are just masked and referred to as something else. Example number one can be how homosexuality isn't legalized in many areas of the world, as many of the "fatheads" of government think that it's a morally wrong sin for it to be legalized. Also the fact how in Arizona it's a law for all immigrants to carry a green card on them at all times and an officer is allowed to check them for it if there are any signs of suspicion can be deemed as racist and bigoted.

Sir Codin March 7th, 2014 5:45 PM

You could also argue that the Pledge of Allegiance is a form of mass brainwashing, but I'll leave that one up to the rest of you to decide. (But it is).

Platina Berlitz March 7th, 2014 6:23 PM

I know of friends of mine who where suspended for not standing during the pledge

donavannj March 7th, 2014 7:44 PM

I don't think anyone was ever suspended in my classes for refusing to stand during the Pledge.

Although there's no question it's been appropriated as a propaganda tool by the government to varying degrees since its inception.

Tsutarja March 7th, 2014 7:45 PM

In my opinion, not standing during the pledge of allegiance is disrespectful, but reciting it is optional. I'm not saying that people should stand during it (first amendment), but it shows that you're proud to live in the country you do, regardless of political influence. I always stood during the pledge of allegiance in school, but during my high school years I never recited it.

Taemin March 7th, 2014 8:02 PM

If nothing else, you stand for the pledge so that teachers don't peg you and call you out.

Sir Codin March 7th, 2014 8:07 PM

I haven't been proud of my country in quite a while.

When you see me stand during the pledge, it's only because I'm in a generous mood.

I love how when I bring about pessimism I'm rebutted but when I'm optimistic about our world as it is all the nay-sayers pile in and tell me we live in a cave filled with rotting garbage. How perplexing it is!

In all honesty, there are powers above us (by above us I don't mean merely human) that have a level of luxury that makes us look like mushrooms in the dark being fed horse feces. The sorts of luxuries they have are along the lines of worry about hunger and thirst, dealing with the corruption of money, and even things such as work and learning. Materialistic things are so shallow and so… human.

Morning Sun Espeon March 7th, 2014 9:25 PM

I always stood for the pledge. I come from a military family, and a simple thing like standing for a few seconds to give thanks never seemed liked a hassle in my book. I guess it's just me.

Sir Codin March 7th, 2014 9:35 PM

Drone-striking, political correctness, suppression of rights to certain individuals (gays in particular), big corporation protection by government (which I consider cheating), overblown military budget, high incarceration rate, the War On Drugs. I could list other reasons, but I'm sure people could argue against these being reasons for not being proud of your country.

But I suppose if they aren't, then I guess my answer would then be, no I don't have a reason to not be proud of my country, but I also can't think of a good reason why I should be proud of it either.

I'm just not sold on patriotism and nationalism. To me it just seems like its a whole lot of posturing.

I agree with a lot of stuff you just wrote. You basically hit the nail on the head with a lot of these points.

I guess it really depends on how exactly we view saying the pledge of allegiance or the national anthem. Whenever I say it, I don't exactly think of it as "I love my country woo hoo!" but rather I say it as a thank you specifically to all of our troops out there. It might seem narrow minded, but that's my reason for saying it; while the motives for fighting overseas might not be true, they're putting their lives on the line and that's something braver than anything I could even fathom doing. That's also why I'll stand and salute my troops whenever there's an opportune moment.

Alexander Nicholi March 7th, 2014 10:05 PM

I think it'd be a lot less mindless if we were praising and revering those who make an effort to better our world through selflessness rather than a group of people in uniform that go and shoot people who they don't even know because some old white dude in a suit told them to.

Khilia March 8th, 2014 8:51 AM

There's no way for video games to get any better visually though right? Isn't it like, your eyes can only process so many pixels on the screen before any additional pixels start blending together?

Unless they found a better way to view the images :O.
That sounds kind of unlikely.

Meganium March 8th, 2014 6:32 PM

Video game graphics nowadays have significantly improved over the years. Most of the look so realistic that you can't even tell if you're controlling real humans or computerized. Sooner or later we'll be able to see 3D gaming, or even virtual reality gaming a la Sword Art Online. xD

I'm still waiting on a game like Sword Art Online. 100 floors with their own unique worlds and unique bosses at the end and still playing like an RPG? That would be hella' fun.

Although hopefully we won't be trapped in the game and if we die we don't die in real life.... >_>".

Omicron March 8th, 2014 6:38 PM

Graphics can still get better. If the human eyes were considered cameras, they would have around 576 megapixels. As long as we can process that amount of data, graphics can still get better.

By that math, our eyes dimensions square would be 24,000 square pixels. My educated guess as to color depth would be around 32-bits per channel.

Well then who in literally the whole universe does Earth owe those monies to? Jupiter?!

Right now money is backed by nothing. Nada. Used to be backed by gold, of which we could at least put a modicum of archaic value in. Now it's just printed out of nothing, and the value it has is the value you give it. Here's how the process works, at least in the United States; I imagine the UK and Germany have something similar.

The government prints out some fancy bonds with presidents and eagles ♥♥♥♥ on them, and gives them to the Federal Reserve in exchange for a loan at interest. Well, in order to pay off that initial loan, the government has to borrow additional money to pay that off, and issues more worthless bonds for more worthless money. As you can tell, it infinitely perpetuates itself. Keep in mind that the Federal Reserve is a private corporation and is just about as federal as FedEx. The value of newly printed money is simply borrowed from the existing money in circulation. Remember reading about the days when you could get two candy bars for a penny? That was when the dollar was accurately matched to it's golden counterpart. If inflation continues we're going to be in a financial idiocracy, where riding a ride on an amusement park costs 30 billion dollars because people are stupid and don't argue with the meaningless inflation.

Pendraflare March 9th, 2014 5:29 PM

No posts since 1:30? I'd better do something about that!

Yeah, I learned stuff about the Federal Reserve and inflation in one of my classes, so I can only hope something is done there.

So it's nice that DST has come and it's not so unbelievably dark out so early. Those times are just really saddening.

Alexander Nicholi March 9th, 2014 5:33 PM

It's getting warm here in Colorado. Enough to where I went to Wal-Mart shirtless in flip flops and basketball shorts at 7 at night. :3

As far as the things that go on... the gold standard, printing money out of nothing, being enslaved to the system. Keep one thing in mind. You can't fight the man. If you passively challenge his notions you stand a chance of just being marginalized from society, and if you aggressively engage him you can guarantee a neutralization for yourself. At this point the only thing anyone stands a chance of doing is quietly running away from the corporatotheoidioplutocracy that is America… to vanish without a trace is your only hope. Pretend to be a sheeple long enough to get the hell out of there.

You should be here. It's warm everyday now just about and you could wear shorts anytime :P

I hate the time change, especially on the night of. You lose an hour of sleep during the spring time change, and the sun rises late as well.

At least it seems like the days are longer! Even during today, my body clock felt weird because while I thought it was 6, it's actually 7 @[email protected] The loss of sleep is my reason for hating the time change every year >>;;

Pendraflare March 9th, 2014 5:44 PM

Yeah, I did set my clock ahead an hour in advance before I even went to sleep last night, but I certainly was caught off-guard when I woke up near 9 AM instead of 8. V_V

Also, that reminds me that I totally forgot to pack shorts upon returning to my college dorm. D: Ah well, my bags were pretty full anyway.

The amount of daylight would be the same even if we didn't change time.. it's just that the sun would rise and set an hour earlier than usual and nothing more.

I dislike summertime sunsets though. 8:30pm is just too damn late if you ask me.

Funny, I'm actually doing a DBQ in regard to the underlying causes of WWI. From what I gathered Europe was essentially raring to go to war, and thought that it'd be a simple and swift process that brought in a bunch of money. After four years few thought that :P

Well, that's not the purpose of daylight savings. It's supposed to help reduce the amount of electricity used in domestic residencies by reducing the need for light bulbs at important hours of the day.

However, studies about this are contradictory. Some say energy is saved and others say it doesn't. The intention is good, nonetheless.

Ponyta March 9th, 2014 8:40 PM

Eh. A lot goes into an electric bill other than lighting, but I get what yours saying. Though it depends on the household. My mom keeps the lights on all the time at her place. It's annoying to sit in a brightly lit room as the sun pours into the room

I know that, haha. Light bulbs pale against the consumption of a refrigerator, for example. But take into consideration that the first daylight saving started almost 100 years ago, when light bulbs were the most common of the household electronics.

So, the original purpose was that.

So, after getting a bunch of crap for my birthday it all kind of piled up in my room, which I had to clean. I felt like Sherlock Holmes trying to figure out what to keep and what to chuck among food, reference papers, logs, journals, binders, shelves, clothes, cameras, money boxes, and gunpowder. I apparently got a cartridge of it from someone, but I don't own a gun. :/

After getting my room to a respectable state, I sat down, opened my sketchbook, and unleashed all of my perplexing emotions about the one I love into a map littered with words, and an indescribable symbol of each of us in the upper-middle portion of the page (I'm on the right).
.

Since I'm bi, I'll leave it up to you guys to guess whether it's a boy or girl. :P

You seem to have great writing Alex, so yeah totally mixed here.

I'm kinda surprised at how my handwriting turned out because I thought I'd be a crappy handwriter but maybe I guess it's due to being autistic it looked better than I thought.

It's weird given I'm more likely touching a computer keyboard rather than holding a pen these days.

Starry Windy March 10th, 2014 1:46 AM

Lately my handwriting is pretty good nowadays, much better compared to last year. I remember when I was first taught how to write by my mom, the texts were looking like this, at some point. Later I find out that I'm not fond of writing like this lol

moon March 10th, 2014 2:16 AM

My handwriting is horrible. Even my boyfriend's is better. I don't know how it happened ;;

Tsutarja March 10th, 2014 3:11 AM

I don't know what I would say about my handwriting... it's legible, but sometimes I think I write like crap. I'm one of those people that has a handwriting where it's a combination of print and cursive.

Raine March 10th, 2014 3:19 AM

Whether it's printing or handwriting, my writing is always tiny and relatively squished together yet people tell me it's nice. It's not. I've been told once, by my chemistry teacher, to re-print my test because apparently it was too small. I get it, my writing's small, but teachers have never had an issue with it until she came along >>;;

Puddle March 10th, 2014 3:39 AM

I change my handwriting every day unintentionally. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's awful.
