Homeschooling eh? In my state, homeschooling is possible without having the need to hire an instructor to your house. Not sure about everywhere else, though.

The more you know! #homeschoolfacts

I was homeschooled for pretty much all of middle school. In reality I just did whatever the heck I wanted 24/7 and did really well on my end-of-grade tests, and that was that. Pretty much a neverending summer. :P
My mother would like to have been able to homeschool me here in Colorado with an accredited program (since it's required for high school), but in this state you have to have a degree to homeschool whereas in Carolina you didn't. I think public school is good for my social skills anyway, not to mention it's too easy. :3 Also, I'd like to mention that with the help of Geoff I rediscovered an account I created here on November 21, 2009, which was the same day I registered on Bulbagarden. Soon I'm gonna get supportership to it and then I'm hoping to use it… :D |

My ex was homeschooled most of his high school time. After his sophomore year he had an epileptic attack that forced him out of school. He told me (a while before we got together) that homeschooling helped him lots and it was way better than traditional classroom learning. With thanks to that, he earned a 3.3 GPA upon graduating. The downside to that, he graduated a year later than his intended grad year.

*sigh* …I love it when I can just wake up on a Saturday and let everything unwind, listening to a bunch of feel-good music from Bill Withers, The Marshall Tucker Band, Dobie Gray… and I ain't got a damn worry in the world to mess with me. Ah, I can finally relax… |
Meanwhile, I got up and immediately had to work...bleh. At least now boyfriend and I are getting drunk and watching Parks and Rec. I still have a bit more work to do before I can really relax today but then I'll get back to Gunpla painting!

I woke up this morning at 7:30 am and will be spending the entire day at the park watching and coaching little league baseball until about 9 pm.

Today has been a rather fun-filled day for me so far. Went to Sarge's Grill, which is a new place on the 85/87 strip that opened up a few months ago. One of the sergeants that opened the place told us that him and a bunch of other Army NCOs got together and wanted to fuse the ideas and styles of all the restaurants they've seen around the world in their time of service and put it together into one resteraunt.
The place was rather well-decorated and equipped with a full bar. It had a lot of military decorations and more than a little memorabilia referencing the 4th Infantry Division here at Fort Carson. The service was absolutely excellent and the food… it's hard to say anything. Their burgers were absolutely huge, and tasted like a grill smells, the bacon was perfectly thick and the pickle slices were perfect. After eating it I knew full well I wasn't going to be able to do anything with the fries, not to mention Melodie absolutely loved their fish and snuck a glass of lemonade with limes and two vodka shots while my sister and mother were in the bathroom. It was absolutely great, all of it. :) |
I got home from work for about 6 and slept until 11.
Safe to say I probably won't be sleeping much tonight. Ugh. |
The past few holidays I've almost always been going to bed at 2 AM something ish and I got up at either 7 AM because I kinda don't know why or at 11 AM because I slept for too long :p

The weekends are always tough for me, now that summer's around the corner. I work 7am-3pm at one job, and then do another job 5pm-1am. So working 15+ hours for 3 days straight...takes a real toll health wise, mate /:
|
Two full-time jobs?! How could you even manage that? o_o

Spoiler:
I work around 40 hours at DD, usually doing shifts from 7am/8am-3pm four or five days a week. The drive in is mostly a night gig, and I only work the weekends until Memorial Day when it opens up seven days a week (which at that point I'll probably pick up two more nights.) So essentially I can work anywhere between 60-70 hours in a given week. What can I say, I'm addicted to money and I need some means to supply my horrible addicting physical CD spending habits :3 |
My gosh I would probably be dead by the weekend if I was a workaholic like that @[email protected]
|
I'm lucky to be working in a job I love that also happens to give me a decent amount of money, so I'm willing to work as much as possible for multiple reasons. I admire anyone who works those jobs that no one aspires to work; I've been privileged enough not to have to so it's an experience I'm unfamiliar with. I hear it's difficult and tiring though.
|
It's not bad work, it's just I don't like feeling the layover of burning out. I've basically hit this routine where I really just "work, eat, sleep" and it really does suck not having any other time to do a lot of stuff that you might want to do. But I do the best with what I got.
Don't be me by the way. I'm a complete lunatic ~ |
Did I forget to mention that I am envious of how y'all are all employed, but I'm not.. even after many job applications to work, not once have I ever gotten a callback @[email protected]
|
I didn't even have to try to get my job, my sister got it for me lol
Keeping it was all me though |
A wise man once told me to get a job through nepotism and keep it through merit.
|
He sounds like the wisest of men.
|
Jobs seem cool for the money, depending on what you work. The only problem I see with the service industry is the tediousness of the labor and the jerks you often wind up working with. :/
|
Jobs are nice, especially when you're the boss and own the business.
|
When you're young you can't really afford to be picky
